It’s a tarot deck.

“This is for me?” He questions just to be extra sure. Marin rolls their eyes, “Yes, congratulations, have fun. Now, you’re going to read for me.”

“What?!” Harry squeaks, completely caught off guard, “But, I don’t know how,” Marin only smiles, unbothered, “I’ll teach you.”

Harry tentatively removes the top layer of the box so he can access the cards. He tips the open box, allowing its contents to slide onto the table. The cards are firm with newness, lacking the love and wear of Marin’s decks. A small booklet with different meanings and interpretations of each card also slips out, “Okay so, now what do I do?”

They smirk mischievously as if they’re in on a secret Harry is yet to know.

Hello Tumblr Vamily! first of all, thank you to those who participated in the Fang Fest poll(s) I posted. I read all your tags and comments and I decided to go ahead with this year's Vampire the Masquerade Fang Fest!

This year’s theme is “Tarot.” These prompts are intended to inspire fanart, fanfic, and other pieces of fanwork. Anything you wish to create and share with the vamily is very greatly appreciated!

The Fang Fest will run from June 1 - 22, 2024.

Each day, starting with The Fool on June 1 and finishing with The World on June 22, post whatever fan work you've made inspired by the Tarot card prompt (eg. art, fic, gifs, poetry, music playlists, mood boards, whatever). Please include the hashtag #vtmfangfest24 so they can all be collected here. I know there are a lot of prompts this year compared to past years, and if you can't think of anything for a particular prompt, or are otherwise unable to finish, it's perfectly fine to skip it.

Those who are not taking part in making fan work are encouraged to like, comment on, give kudos, and share their favourites! Collaboration is also encouraged, so reach out to your fellow Kindred and see what you can come up with!

Round 3: Minor Arcana

For this round of the fest, the theme is Minor Arcana. The Minor Arcana cards in a tarot deck reflect your everyday experiences – the joys, challenges, relationships, and ideas that you encounter frequently. They can reveal the lessons from your past, and guide you to make the best choices for your future. Listening to the Minor Arcana can greatly improve your daily life! These cards can be seen as normal playing cards, but each card has their own meaning. You have four suits, Swords (Spades), Wands (Clubs), Cups (Hearts) and Pentacles (Diamonds). Every suit has 14 cards, 10 numbered cards and 4 court cards, Page, Knight, Queen, and King. 

For your prompt, you will receive a tarot reading from the mods of this fest. Three cards will be pulled for you, all Minor Arcana. This means that you will have three prompts to choose from or, if you’re seeking a fun challenge, combine the meanings for one prompt. This choice will be made by sign up, but that doesn’t mean you have to stick to it. However, if you choose to do “full reading”, so combine the cards, the mods will do a reading based on the three cards for you. As usual, reach out if you have any questions about the prompts rules, or tarot in general. 

As to support writers, we are experimenting with including artists into the fest to provide art for the fic posts. This may include different art media. Writers can request the help of an artist during sign up. Although it’s not a guarantee there will be an artist to help, we are hoping to match anyone with an artist willing to help. You can also contact an artist on your own, a friend or someone who is part of the list on @artistsof1d.

Rules: 

There’s no minimum or maximum word count.

There is no age restriction, but for writing nsfw content, you must be 18+.

Fics must be tagged appropriately. Certain topics can be triggering, so please don’t hide or downplay anything. The fic will be removed from the collection if authors aren’t open to changing tags due to complaints.

All pairings are allowed, as long as there's at least one member of 1D.

All fics must be completed when posted.

This fest is not anonymous. Please feel free to post snippets of your fic and tag the blog.

Co-creation is allowed; please address it when signing up or message the mods as needed.

It encouraged to have your fic looked over by a beta.

Add your fic to the collection by 6 pm CEST and authors will be responsible for their rebloggable fic posts. 

We don't allow AI art for the fic posts. The fic post won't be reblogged, we will just mention there is a fic published until an appropriate fic post is released.

Contact info with an artist will be provided as soon as we have a match. However, the artist sign-ups stay open, so if you didn’t get an artist right away or need to change, there is still a possibility someone will help later on.

In my youth on Halloween/ Samhain or whatever you kids called it these days. Me and all my delinquent friends would go out to a grave yard or cemetery and just be doing odd rituals, lighting shit on fire, scream at people passing by, and hit shit with bats. I don’t do that anymore because I am older and wiser and could face actual jail time. So heres some fun suggestions on what to do now that Halloween draws near. As above so below. The way to reach the divine is to look into hell and to acknowledge both primal and divine aspects. ANYWAYS how are we going to legally recognize halloween this year?

Damn maybe you should be wild and break shit in the woods. This card wants you to invoke the spirit of war and all the ambition that goes with it. Fall and Halloween is like the death tarot card. Shit changes weather you rock w it or nah. And NOTHING changes lives as fast or as hard as war and violence. The horrors of war and the changes that go with it are terrifying.

Suggestion: maybe make a ritual in support of people in the Middle East/ Ukraine make this a positive halloween.

Use this holiday as a new stone to step forward

Suggestion: maybe a light occult read like the passion according to cixious and maybe some shadow work exercises
