Earlier today, a Sky News correspondent called the Lebanon pager attack - which was almost certainly carried out by Israeli intelligence - "particularly innovative". An article in the New York Times called it "eye-catching". This is the same attack that killed nine people (including two children), injured nearly 3,000, caused mass eye injuries and left 460 people needing surgery.

The Mail on Sunday commentator Dan Hodges said: "It's hard to think of a more sophisticated or targeted attack on a terror group than pagers." What's sophisticated about killing a nine-year-old girl? What's targeted about injuring thousands of people in civilian areas, with no way of knowing who was holding the pagers at the time the bombs detonated?

So this one was actually a request from @aquamarin-sky, who did these lovely sketches of Depa and baby Obi-Wan, and, well- the potential was just too good!

“When’s the last time you took a break, hm?” Huh. Good question. She’d woken up, sat down– Another sigh. “Why don’t you come down to the creche with me?” That piques her interest. Because her master had returned from his mission four days ago, and had dropped off in the Halls– She sits up. “Did Obi-Wan get released?” She can hear his smile, pink streaks of amusement bleeding through the bond– “He did.” He hadn’t been permitted visitors in the Halls. Something about a respiratory infection, because Mace had told her, the corners of his eyes all pinched, how he’d Found him– “Do I get to meet him now?” “Oh, if you’d like, I suppose,” he says lightly, “although if you’d prefer to keep studying–” “A Jedi must always be mindful of when they’re reaching their breaking point,” she sniffs, assembling her notes into careful piles. “And looking after our younglings is a noble pursuit.” And besides– she’s not entirely obtuse. The way he’d told her of his mission upon his return, how the carefully-negotiated signing of the treaty on Cotillia had been far overshadowed by Stewjon’s purple heather and fearful cruelty– She wants to meet her future Padawan-brother.
