They knew it wasn't going to be easy, nor was it going to feel good. Hua Cheng has meant to find Qi Rong, reveal the truth to Lan Qin Qao, and continue on with their lives. Well, he just wanted to beat the shit out of Qi Rong for what he did to Xie Lian.

All of you went to Qi Rong's lair, and watched Hua Cheng beat Qi Rong's face into the ground. Then you all got to listen to the truth about the banquet. So far so good. 'good' is an emotional ride for everyone there. But that was the whole point anyways.

Everything was going as planned, in Hua Cheng's book anyways. Until Qi Rong started slandering Hua Cheng and Xie Lian. He started yelling about how Hua Cheng was Xie Lian's dog, and how Xie Lian is so pure he must've been blinded by it.

You have a deep past with Xie Lian, and a relationship with both men so of course you aren't happy to hear these things. Especially from Qi Rong. You used to be close with him, of course you were. He was Xie Lian's cousin so obviously you would've met him. Now look at Qi Rong. It was truly pitiful.

You were upset by the words Qi Rong was saying, he used to be such a good child for you. The things he was saying weren't fair to your lovers, you also didn't want to see Qi Rong get beat up anymore. Xie Lian and Hua Cheng already had a go at him.

"Qi Rong you've grown to have such a vulgar tongue, please be quiet." You weren't going to hit anyone, you're too sweet for that, so you could only ask him nicely. Xie Lian stopped you though. Where he usually is so hesitant to touch you has been thrown away, he pulls you by the elbow, behind him now. Xie Lian doesn't know why he does it. Anger? Jealousy? Selfishness? Protectiveness? Hostility? Who knows but he knows that him and Hua Cheng will lose it if Qi Rong dares to spit harmful words towards you.

But Qi Rong doesn't. He does the contrary, as if Qi Rong had really missed you. As if he had a right to your person. He laughs, finding it hysterical how Xie Lian pulls you behind him. How his big cousin is selfish even though he acts like the most selfless person to ever breathe. "Hahaha! Look at you big cousin! Look, look! You've always been selfish! Selfish!" He laughs and laughs against the ground.

Qi Rong looks at you, what he can see peaking over Xie Lian's shoulder anyways. "Y/n, Y/n I've missed you over these 800 years. You must've been blinded by big cousin's light too! You don't know if he's being honest in his words or if he's saying it to piss off your lovers. You wouldn't put it past him. "Qi Rong please" you hiss through your teeth. You had been so focused on Xie Lian that you had completely forgotten about the seething ghost behind you.

Hua Cheng's devotion to Xie Lian is admirable and his devotion to you is the same. Qi Rong very quickly finds his face being slammed into the ground again. It's a very gruesome sight and you didn't enjoy it all. Hiding behind Xie Lian and covering your ears as Qi Rong continues to roll your name over his tongue.

Things pass, and tensions increase. Eventually leading to Qi Rong being cut in half and thrown into boiling liquids. Even though Xie Lian drags you off, you can't help but stare where Qi Rong was thrown.

Once the three of you are out of the lair, you're all interrupted by Shi Qingxuan and Feng Xin. Feng Xin wants the two of you to come back to the heavens. To come home. He demands it actually, threatening Hua Cheng with his bow and arrow. Shi Qingxuan stops him though. You and Xie Lian get pulled behind Hua Cheng.

Once things smooth over with them and Hua Cheng bullies Feng Xin with blood rain, you were expecting to go back to the heavens with Xie Lian. The two of you do need to get up there and explain everything that has happened. Xie Lian and Hua Cheng decide differently though. Instead you're dragged off and your lovers are eerily silent, seething quietly. You don't know what to say, because you don't know why they're upset. So you don't say anything you let them drag you along.

They've taken you to Puqi shrine. You can only assume that maybe after such a tiring day, that everyone is missing home. Maybe your lovers just want to spend a few hours with you and have some peace. To make what happened earlier a distant memory. Your mind is quickly changed.

Nezuko has witnessed several unbelievable events while traveling from demon to demon with her brother. She's even heard stories from her father before he died from an unknown illness that made his body weak. However, she has never been hit by another demons Blood Demon Art and arrive in a world that does not look like her own.

Thankfully, it was night, and there were still several people wandering the crowded streets, as she has gotten used to by this point. She was standing at her normal height, her fingers securely grasping her pink kimono, but her grip was not strong enough for her nails to sink in and tear the fabric apart.

Nezuko scans her surrounding, hoping to spot something that is at least somewhat familiar to her, but nothing was. Should she ask for help? She has no idea where she was, so asking for directions or simply where she was right now would be a great place to start. But she couldn't speak and hasn't been able to for two years, so how would she ask? Not only that, but she didn't have a brush or paper to write on to show anyone what she wanted to say (not like her writing would be that good anyways). All of this meant that she was on her own until she found anything that could help her get home

She takes a brief look at each passing building, some of which look to be prayer temples based on what she can see inside. She continues forward, taking in the beauty surrounding her, until fewer and fewer people and buildings show up around her. Now, the area surrounding her resembled an open field with small homes sprinkled along a lengthy pathway. She continues on this was, slowing her pace a bit to conserve energy until she hopefully finds a decent area to sleep as the sun rises.

There was a few areas here and there, but they were near clearly occupied residences, and she didn't want some random person finding her. While that might not seem too horrible, they may bring her out into the sun, even if they have no intention of harming her. That idea alone bothers her.

"My my," Nezuko flinches slightly at the unexpected voice. "What a demonic presence." She turns and faces two men, one of them dressed in red and had his dark hair tied lopsidedly, and she guesses he was the one speaking. The other shorter male approaches her and leans down a bit to reach her level. "Why do you have bamboo in your mouth?" He asks, mainly to himself rather than to her.

These two weren't human, that was obvious, but they weren't demons either, and she was unable to sense any malicious intentions from them, especially the one in white. He had such a sweet and serene smile; it made her think of her brother.

Since she knows that they are not human, they seem to have already concluded that she was a demon, or at least dangerous. Regardless, they chose to approach her with such care. "Can you talk without that?" The brunette in front of her asks, lazily gesturing to the bamboo with a small head tilt. She shakes her head, but she feels that he already knew the answer to his question. It wouldn't hurt to ask, right?

The other man approaches with a slight smile and stares down at Nezuko. "Well aren't you a little one." He said it in a tone that sounded like he was teasing her, but it didn't really bother her much. She even used his words as an excuse to grow taller. She grew dramatically and slowly until she was around six feet tall, around the same height as him. Her kimono hugged her figure, so she didn't dare to move too much. "What an interesting twist." The man dressed in red had widened eyes, but they quickly disappear and replaced with a faint smile.

Nezuko had been fighting before she appeared here, she had spent hours searching for a place to stay or figuring out how to get back to her brother, and now she has used some of her energy to increase her height in front of these two... whatever they are.

She was exhausted. So, she shrinks to the side of when she would normally sleep within her box and wipes her eye, causing the two males to exchange glances. She sits on the floor till her body collapses on her side, falling asleep surprisingly quickly.

"Gege." The man in red clothing says, keeping his eyes fixed on the little demon. "She's not a ghost." So, she's not a human nor a ghost. What was she? She had this menacing air around her, yet she did nothing that matched it. "Let's take her."

"What?" The white clothed man glances at him. "San Lang, what if someone is searching for her?" His face was filled with hesitation, but the other man, San Lang, did not change his. "They would leave a child out on their own? Let's keep her." He looks back at Nezuko. "If someone is looking for her, we'll have her, but if no one comes looking for her, let's keep her."

He doesn't even wait for the other male, Xie Lian, to to respond to what San Lang said before crouches to pick up the female. His eyes are tender as he stares at the sleeping demon, and this alone causes Xie Lian to stop. "I suppose that works too.."

A Sacred Celebration: Love's Eternal Embrace

Hua Cheng wandered through the fields, the setting sun casting a golden glow over the landscape. As he made his way back home, a sense of peace enveloped him. Upon entering, he was greeted by a delightful surprise: a small celebration prepared by Xie Lian, complete with a half-charred, half-cream-covered cake. The sight was endearing, bringing a soft smile to Hua Cheng's face.

“Gege, how did you know it’s my birthday?” Hua Cheng asked, his voice filled with affection and surprise.

Xie Lian beamed with excitement. “I asked around, and Ling Wen told me since she owed me a favor,” he replied proudly.

Clearing his throat, Xie Lian began to sing a sweet, if somewhat off-key, birthday song, followed by a playful poem he had composed:

“Oh Lord of Ghost City, so brave and true,

How you have bewitched me, oh how you do,

With your smile so bright and your gaze so keen,

In your embrace, I find a world unseen.

Trapping me for eternity,

Oh what bliss,In moments stolen, in every tender kiss,

Hua Cheng’s eyes welled up with tears, his heart touched by the genuine effort Xie Lian had put into the celebration. He tried to speak, to thank Xie Lian, but his emotions choked him up. Mistaking his reaction, Xie Lian shook him vigorously and patted his back, thinking the cake was causing him to choke.

“Are you okay?!” Xie Lian asked, his concern genuine "I knew my skills aren't good-"

Hua Cheng started laughing, the sound rich and heartfelt. “I’m fine, gege,” he managed between laughs.

Xie Lian pouted playfully. “Don’t scare me like that! You almost gave me a heart attack”

The ghost king apologised profusely while his gege swatted at him.

Xie Lian’s face lit up with another idea. “Wait, I have something else for you.” He pulled out two cotton-filled plushies he had made: one was a fox with an eyepatch, and the other was a ferret with a crumpled hat. Hua Cheng’s eyes widened in surprise and amusement.

Xie Lian began to narrate a whimsical tale, holding up the plushies. “Once upon a time, there was a brave fox with an eyepatch and a clever ferret with a crumpled hat. They met in the woods and became the best of friends. One day, the ferret proposed to the fox as a joke.”

Hua Cheng laughed loudly at that, his eyes shining with delight "I already apologised gege!"

Xie Lian continued, grinning, “But the fox took it seriously, and they decided to get married. They had many adventures together and lived happily ever after.”

Hua Cheng, caught up in the story, started playing along with Xie Lian, making the fox and ferret plushies dance and interact. Their laughter once again filled the room, creating a melody of joy and affection.

When the laughter finally died down, Hua Cheng looked at Xie Lian with a depth of emotion that words could barely convey. “Thank you, Xie Lian, for always standing up for me, for being there when no one else was, for being my source of comfort.”

Xie Lian cupped Hua Cheng’s face tenderly. “You deserve to be loved, Hua Cheng. I am so proud of how far you’ve come.”

Hua Cheng kissed Xie Lian’s palm, a gesture imbued with reverence and devotion, as if he were worshipping at the altar of his beloved. Their love was a sacred religion, each kiss a prayer, each embrace a hymn. They moved closer, their lips meeting in a kiss that was profound and tender, a testament to their unwavering love.

In that moment, they were bound by more than just affection; their love was a sanctuary, a holy place where they found solace and joy. Smiles and contentment radiated from them as they held each other close, their hearts beating in perfect harmony.

I made a Hualian one shot once, and so I thought i'd just post it here since its mostly fluff.

The screams of pain and the mocking vocies filled the air of Xianle. The blood that filled the streets of Xianle. The crown prince was struggleing to figure out how to do fix this. He crack his nuckles as he thought about what to do. Should he burn it? No no that wont work. Maybe cut it off? No even worst!

The human face disease was messing him up. He couldnt figure out how to fix it.

The people were calling for his death, if the prince dies then maybe the pain would go away.

"No no...I can fix it! Just give me more time!"

Thats it...he just needs more time. More time..

The people of Xianle surrounded Xie Lian. They held makeshift weapon, and some even had tourches. Xie Lian was sweating, he wanted to help. He needed to help.

"Wait! Please wait! Just stop! Please!"

He repeats these words. But nothing worked. Xie Lian was screaming crying strugleing.

He shot up in bed. Hua Cheng was trying desperetly to wake Xie Lian up. And now that his husband was up, Hua Cheng held him close to his chest. "Shhh...Its just a dream, calm down. It was just a dream. Your save, your save in my arms."

Hua Cheng whisptered sweet words to Xie Lian, he was able to calm down Xie lian.

"Your right...your right..."

Hua Cheng gently layed Xie Lian down and they both slowly fell asleep.

Hua Cheng frowned. "Is that what gege really really wants?" Xie Lian nods.

Xie Lian wasnt trying to replace any of them, Hua Cheng gets so jealous by E-Ming and Ruoye. But Xie Lian needed a friend, and so he wanted a pet. "Okay gege..If gege wants it, then this one cannot refuse." Xie Lian shoke his head, "Hua Cheng, you will still get all my attention! But when your gone without me...I need something to be with!"

Hua Cheng's eyes widen, his heart ached. Has Hua Cheng been so selfish to deniy Xie Lian the chance to have friends? Has Hua Cheng just been isolating his husband!? Hua Cheng's breath quicked. He was worried. But Xie Lian's gentle touch to his hands made him calm down. "San Lang, this pet is for both of us..You have every right to agree or disagree to it."

Hua Cheng gulped slightly, and nodded his head. "I'll get Yin Yu to use the perfict pet!" Xie Lian smiles.

At his husband's happyness, Hua Cheng cupped Xie Lian's face and kissed his passionetly..

Its been a few days, Hua Cheng and Xie Lian were waiting for a pet, Yin Yu is usally fast about it. But with how picky Hua Cheng is, he made a long list on what they(he) didnt want. But finaly!

Xie Lian was cleaning around Qiandeng temple as he normaly did. Hua Cheng always told him that he doesnt have to. But Xie Lian does it because he wants to. Yin Yu gently knocks before entering the shrine. He held a fluffy white cat with some darker spots on its face, ears, paws, and tail. Its eyes were bright blue, it looked like an angle. Compared to most cats Xie Lian ahs met, this one didnt seem to mind being held. Xie Lian droped the broom and rushed over. The cat was honeslt tiny, like a little cloud.

It was a kitten!

Xie Lian looked excited, he held out his hands to get the cat. Yin Yu bowed his head and gave Xie Lian the kitten. "Ah, such a beauty! You did great Yin Yu!" If Yin Yu's mask wasnt on, he most likely would be blushing slightly. Yin Yu bows deep and rushes away. He wasnt aloud in the Qiandeng temple for longer then a few secounds, since this is the personal living space of Hua Cheng. But Xie Lian lets him stay for as long as he want.

Xie Lian holds the kitten close to his chest. He was kinda sad that Yin Yu left before Xie Lian could thank him to death. But it gives Xie Lian some time to figure out how to take care of a kitten. He puts it down and the cat sniffs around, then the kitty wanders to the pile of dirty clothes. It sniffs one of Xie Lian's shocks, before grabbing it in its mouth and dragging it towards Xie Lian.

Xie Lian's eyes widen and he rushes to take the sock away from the kitty. "Ah, I dont think that taste good..." The kitty seemed sad, it meows and looks at the sock. Xie Lian didnt know weither to laugh of cry. Xie Lian sighs and puts the sock back in the pile. He takes a clean sock and gives it to the cat insted. "This should taste better."

The cat meowed, as if to thank Xie Lian, and it took the sock in its mouth. Xie Lian smiled, and spent a few hours playing with it. Hua Cheng lazy kicked off his shoes and sneeked behind Xie Lian, he wraped his arms around Xie Liam's waist..when he noticed the kitten playing with Xie lian's sock. Hua Cheng frowned slightly and begain nibbleing on Xie Lian's earlobe, "Gege...I see you have a new toy hm? Tired of this one already?" Xie Lian blushes and shakes his head. "Not at all San Lang! Remeber when you told Yin Yu to look for a pet for us? Well he finaly found one! Isnt it cute!?" Hua Cheng chuckled and kissed his husband's cheek, "It is very cute, whats the gender?" Xie Lian shruged, "I dont know how to tell."

Hua Cheng nodded, he took one hand off of Xie Lian's waist and picked up the kitten, said kitten went limp like a ragdoll as soon as it was picked up. "Well gege, since its so young it might be kinda hard but.." Hua Cheng shows Xie Lian how to identafy the gender of a cat...Dont ask how Hua Cheng knows how to do that, he's just smart or something.

Xie Lian smiled and took the kitten from Hua Cheng. "What should we name him?" Hua Cheng thought for a moment, "Well he looks like a cloud, and his eyes such a pretty blue...Xiao Yudi, little raindrop?" Xie Lian smiled and held the kitten close, "Little rain drop it is!" Xiao Yudi meows loudly, and so Xie Lian lets him down to play with his sock some more. . .

Hua Cheng pins Xie Lian to the bed. They have been taking care of Xiao Yudi for a week, and so Hua Cheng wanted to 'award' Xie Lian. Hua Cheng leaned forwards and started to bite on Xie Lian's neck. When suddenly something started to nead at Hua Cheng's back. Xiao Yudi was sleeping in the pile of clothes not to long ago..and now he was curling up in a ball and falling asleep on Hua Cheng's back.

Xie Lian laughs and picks up the kitten. The cat meows angerly. Hua Cheng sighs and moves off of Xie Lian and layed on his back, arms behind his head. "Maybe he needs a bath?" Hua Cheng sugests.

"Maybe...In the morning, but I need to give my San Lang love~" Hua Cheng's eyes widen at his husband's teasing, Xie Lian was very bad at being all flirty as stuff. But he some how made Hua Cheng blush! It wasnt long before Xie Lian realized what he said, and so he also blushed brightly. "A-ah, well...I ment like..cuddleing and um I.." Xie Lian stuttered to explan himself. Hua Cheng laughed, he always felt happy with Xie Lian. Hua Cheng didnt care about anyone else, he just wants his gege. Hua Cheng shifted to lay on his side, "It's okay gege! We can do anything, I will do anything gege wants to do!" Xie Lian shakes his head, he also laughs. He puts down Xiao Yudi and cuddled up with Hua Cheng.

Xiao Yudi wonders around, the little kitten still hasnt fully explored Qiandeng temple, and he hasnt even been to paradise manor. But the poor little kitten some how found E-Ming, oh no. Xiao Yudi sniffs at the scmitar, E-Ming starts to shake. Xiao Yudi puts his front paws on the sword and contiues to sniff at it. E-Ming started shaking more, Xie Lian noticed that Hua Cheng seemed uncomfertable. But Xie Lian realized, that wasnt E-Ming's 'im about to cut your face off' shake, that was the happy shaking E-Ming normaly did with Xie Lian. E-Ming and Ruoye gained the ability to get a human form, Hua Cheng and Xie Lian didnt even now how. But the two wepons are magic and so it wasnt the most shocking thing ever.

Xiao Yudi meows at the scmitar, Xie Lian sighs, Hua Cheng reluctently lets Xie Lian stand up. Xie Lian picks up the kitten and lets him cuddle in the bed with Hua Cheng and him.

Hua Cheng refused whenever Xie Lian mentined bring Xiao Yudi to paradise manor and introduce him to the ghosts. Hua Cheng didnt even think about it, he disagreed faster then Xie Lian could try to reason with him. It took about a month after getting the kitten for Xie Lian to convice Hua Cheng. But Hua Cheng did take E-Ming, and kept a close eye on the kitten. Xiao Yudi kinda reminded Hua Cheng of Xie Lian, but also, Xie Lian cared deeply for the kitten and so HUa Cheng is going to make sure that nothing happens to the poor baby. The ghost swarmed the kitten in Xie Lian's arms. Some tryed to pet it, and they got the death glare from Hua Cheng. But some did get the chance to sneak a pet in, or a pull on the tail. Some made jokes on how the cat might taste, HUa Cheng didnt like that. Xie Lian just smiled and laughed, reasuring Hua Cheng that no one will eat the kitten. It wasnt the worst thing, well, other then the female ghosts trying to insist to hold the kitten. At the end of the day, Hua Cheng sighed as he shoos away the ghosts. Xie Lian smiles and lets the cat down to wander around. But Xiao Yudi was just playing with the flowy sleeves of Xie Lian's robe. Hua Cheng sits down on the throne chair thingy, pulling Xie Lian to sit on his lap. Xiao Yudi makes an upset meow now that his play toy was gone. And so he went to go sniff around.

Hua Cheng puts his forhead to Xie Lian's, "Gege...this was tireding." Xie Lian holds Hua Cheng's hands, "I know I know, this gege is sorry for pushing your boundrys." Hua CHeng shakes his head, "Never gege! You have never done anything to make me uncomfertable!" Xie Lian smiles and nods. There was suddenly alot of meowing, Yin Yu was holding Xiao Yudi bringing him back into the room. "My apologize for introrupting your moment, but the cat was trying to excape." Xie Lian lets out a soft 'ah' and he gets up to gget the cat, but Hua Cheng stops him. Hua Cheng takes the kitten from Yin Yu, Yin Yu bows and leaves.

Xiao Yudi bats at Hua Cheng's hair. Xie Lian laughs he pats the kitten's head. "What if we introduce this little one to are friends in the heavens? It would be less scary since we know they wouldnt eat him." Xie Lian mostly just ment, Shi Qingxuan, Mu Qing, and Feng Xin.

"If thats what gege wishs."

Thoughts on the Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan fate switching situation.

The biggest thought I've had about it has become a big brain scratcher for a few days that I thought I should share.

So, from our point of view at least, Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan both have a bad ending right?

He Xuan ends up dead as a ghost hellbent on his revenge scheme.

Shi Qingxuan ends up as a beggar with his broken limbs and newly traumatized self.

But their fates were switched right? So what would happen if their fates weren't switched?

Would they both still have endings that are just as bad as the others is in cannon?

Obviously the motivations and feelings of characters involved would be different, so it wouldn't be the exact same story happening the exact same way.

So the details of their end would be different but would it still be just as bad for this hypothetical version of them as the cannon endings are for them?

It's just something I've been thinking about.

I hope it isn't too short, and if you can't tell I pulled some make believe facts out of my ass. Have to change the story up a little bit

Everyone talks about the four calamities, but recently all three realms have been talking about a fifth one. Another terrifying, devastation level calamity. Because that's all the heavenly officials, someone else to worry about.

That's your bad, woops. It's not like it was on purpose. Maybe. It's not like it was your fault. Really! They should have known by now but your crimes and deeds have been hidden behind Crimson rain's for so long, everyone has thought there were only four calamities. Now, with so much activity from Hua Cheng it's impossible to hide behind him. Oh well.

Now you get your own title, lore, rumors and all that nice stuff since everyone knows you now. It's crazy how fast words spread.

You've always been here, in fact you and Hua Cheng appeared one right after the other. So of course with such a close timeline one of you was going to overshadow the other. Not that you have a problem with this.

Surprisingly you and Hua Cheng know each other well. You met a long, long time ago and have been friends ever since. Since you're such close friends. Why not live in paradise manor together, why not rule a ghost city together too? The two of you really are glued to each other's side.

The base of your friendship? Xie Lian. Now of course it's more than that. You're both dead, both calamities, both know Xie Lian, would do anything for Xie Lian, both knew Xie Lian. . .

You guys still hold affections for one another though so it's okay. And the best thing? I lied. You guys aren't friends at all. After hundreds of years of knowing each other you and Hua Cheng have seen the absolute worst in one another. You still stayed. He still stayed. Just because you guys are lovers doesn't mean that you're going to stop pursuing Xie Lian either. There's nothing wrong with three.

Now the second best thing is that none of you harbor jealousy against the other because usually you guys are side by side like Siamese cats causing trouble.

Very often the two of you gang up to pursue Xie Lian together. You guys even bully heavenly officials together. It's all a part of the fun.

So when Xie Lian initially hears about one ghost? He meets two. Like, okay so he has two calamity body guards. Neat. The same goes as follows. Just when he thought he only had to deal with one smart mouth, it's two. Feng Xin and Mu Qing are very annoyed by this but Xie Lian finds it endearing.

It's actually very nice. He used to have two people by his side, but then the trio was separated. Now he has two people by his side again and he doubts that you two will be leaving anytime soon.

Though, since you're actually a known calamity now the stories and details change up a little bit. Xie Lian can click a few more pieces of the puzzle together.

I mean how do you think Hua Cheng got so good in bed, he wasn't practicing on statues alone. How did Hua Cheng get his smooth, suave, attitude? That'd be you too. You had to encourage him to actually make a move on his precious dianxia instead of seeing him act like a blushing maiden anytime Xie Lian looks at him.

Not that you can speak differently on that one. You've always been there through Hua Cheng's worse and. . . worser. You're both awfully silly. Silly enough to give Xie Lian your ashes one random day.

When Xie Lian woke up with a ring of ashes around his neck? Pause. One ring? Isn't one missing? There's two of you. Hua Cheng and you so, where are your ashes.

He's absolutely delighted and curious when he finds out the two of your ashes are mixed. He finds it endearing the two of you trust each other that much and are so close. That's how he learned the two of you were lovers.

Because that's a big risk, a big promise. To mix your ashes and give it to one person. If Hua Cheng goes, you go too. If you go, Hua Cheng goes too. Which on a usual note would never happen.

Hua Cheng breaking Xie Lian's shackles is not a usual note though. He's devastated when not only one of his lovers fades away into a flock of butterflies but when his other lover does too.

The two of you would never leave him alone though, not with that ring around his neck. He knew you two would come back and you both did. Hand in hand, running to Xie Lian excitedly. The two of you would never have to disappear like that again.

Xie Lian doesn't mind that there's two of you. he has two hands, more the merrier. He's happy and loved. Isn't that all that matters?

❥︎ Xie Lian and Hua Cheng spend a relaxing day in Liyue Harbor + running into familiar faces ❥︎ 1,301 words ❥︎ i'm terribly sorry for the late request ! i was focused on a project (that i struggled to finish-) but i hope you enjoy still !

The time is noon, but the orange and yellow lanterns continue to illuminate brightly under the shadows of buildings and bridges. The place is relatively crowded, with people happily greeting each other as they walk by, making it a more welcoming entry for others who wish to visit.

Xie Lian wasn't used to it, yet it gave him a sense of comfort.

He can't help but dart his eyes from building to building, occasionally gazing inside to see the people and materials that decorate the area. "This place is beautiful." Grinning, he says, turning to face the tall man standing next to him. "Have you been here before?"

"I have." Hua Cheng's arms are securely crossed as he stares down at Xie Lian, noting his sigh. He shouldn't be surprised that he's been here before. Even though they were together, a part of him remained a mystery.

Xie Lian's gaze wanders once more as he thinks to himself. "That means you can walk me around?" He asks with a small head tilt, focused on the man's face, quick to notice his low chuckle as he continues walking. "I wish I could, but my previous stay here was fairly brief. But don't you think we can still experience it together?"

"Heh, I guess so."

The crowned prince couldn't stop looking at the people and the decorations. To him, the ethereal nature of the area reminded him of heaven, or perhaps he was exaggerating. Actually, looking around him, this place felt more like heaven than heaven itself. If any god heard him spew such nonsense, who knows what their reaction would be. Although, to him, their reactions to his talking about most things in general may be the reason why heaven does not feel like heaven, even if what they say doesn't bother him.

Exploring Liyue Harbor they went, scouting the various locations and met some strange people along the way. Xie Lian almost stopped to talk to them, but he was so preoccupied with everything else that he hardly noticed them pass by. Perhaps another time, he thinks.

"Gege." Hua Cheng comes to a stop, staring at his significant other beside him. "We're practically on the other side of Liyue, was there anything you wanted?"

Xie Lian smiles up at him and chuckles lightly, but he waves his hands in front of him. "Were you planning on buying me something?" He lowers his arms. "Just visiting the place is all of a gift I need."

Before Hua Cheng could speak up, he notices Xie Lian shift his eyes behind him, causing the ghost to turn around to see what has caught his attention. He chuckles to himself. "Well what are those two doing here?"

To think that the two would encounter other gods here, especially given those two aren't exactly on favorable terms. The two are sitting at an outdoor table with food in front of one of them, and a young woman stands beside the table, talking to them excitedly. This woman looks to be one of the strange people he had encountered. Maybe this time he will be able to stop by and talk to her.

Hua Cheng crosses his arms. "Your friend looks rather uncomfortable with that girl." And he did. Feng Xin's pale skin and stiff body made it clear to all around him that he doesn't want her to stay because of his discomfort, but she refuses to leave. Mu Qing, on the other hand, appears unconcerned as he eats his noodles in silence.

Finally, Xie Lian approaches the three, catching their full attention. He waves and gives them a little nervous smile. "I wasn't expecting to see you two here." He speaks honestly.

The female speaks first before either of the two gods can. "Ah! Are you also here to eat? I have so many dishes for you two to try!"

Wow, she looks incredibly excited. It reminds Xie Lian like a small child, especially with her lively personality. It was kind of sweet in his opinion. By the way he looks at her, he assumes Hua Cheng has taken a liking of her as well. "Well," he begins, averting his eyes to Xie Lian. "The food here smells pleasant, don't you think?"

Xie Lian's smile grows as he stares up at the taller man. Gods didn't have to consume food if they didn't want to, but seeing one of them slurping noodles while the other looks to be waiting for his food must mean that the food here was truly delicious. He couldn't deny that the smell alone makes him hungry.

He didn't even have to respond for Hua Cheng to know he agreed based on his facial expression. So he pulls two chairs from a nearby table and drags them back to the small group so that the two newcomers can join. Xie Lian takes a seat in a chair and raises an eyebrow at the woman. "Have any recommendations?"

The girls' already-bright eyes brighten even more, as if that were possible. Her smile was large, but it was tinted with tranquility. "I've got a few! What about Honey Char Siu?" Xie Lian adjusts himself in the chair. "The flavor of the marinated and roasted pork is well-balanced, with an added touch of sweetness from the honey. It's been strangely popular lately."

Xie Lian lets out a breath, his smile unwavering. He was the type of man who wasn't too concerned with the quality of most foods. He wouldn't mind eating anything months old because he wasn't a human. However, just the thought of trying a new dish that he could enjoy made him feel a little excited.

He extends his arms outward and rests one palm on top of the other, gazing up at the younger-looking woman. "That sounds incredible. I would be happy to give it a try if that is what you suggest."

"I'll take some too." Hua Cheng's cheek is resting on his hand as he looks up at the female, seeing her big smile. "Coming right up!"

She then runs inside a small building, and after leaving the crowned prince's sight, he tilts his head to stare at the two gods. Feng Xin looks away for a minute, unwilling to stare into his old friend's eyes. He expected a question or two.

"You two are eating together?"

Mu Qing nearly choked on his noodles. He looks at Xie Lian almost as if he is glaring at him. "It's not like that." He says harshly as he swirls one of his chopsticks through the thin noodles in the bowl. "I was already eating here until he showed up."

His voice was full of disdain, but he doesn't bother to continue and returns to eating his meal. Hua Cheng hums as he reclines in his chair. "You seemed to be okay with sitting here with him."

He was clearly teasing the two, seemingly fining enjoyment in their annoyed expressions.  However, because Xie Lian brought up such a topic, the two ended up arguing for quite some time, even disregarding the food when it arrived for the three.

Despite how bothersome or nerve-racking it can be for Xie Lian to watch these two quarrel, he can't help but feel at ease. Maybe their arguments get heated at times, resulting in fist fights, yet no matter how many fights these two have, they, along with Xie Lian and Hua Cheng, always end up together as friends.

It quickly developed a sense of familiarity. The familiarity began to feel like home. When he thought about the ethereal sensation of heaven, a home, he did not think of Heaven itself or Liyue Harbor.

Neither of them were home.

But being surrounded by the people he cherishes are what he truly believes to feel like home.

*kicks your door down* YOU. I need to write a silly oneshot so I can fall back into writing because Losing Hope is dramaful and I can't comprehend the words I am writing. I need something goofy. Something silly. Issue? I can't think of any silly plot ideas. SOOOO, I come to you, the au/headcanon master, as a mere writer hoping to find motivation. Do you have any silly ideas that you'd be willing to let me sculpt into a quick oneshot?

Whenever I think silly ideas I default to cumplane because they’re ridiculous and them quoting memes wwhile nobody knows what they mean will never not be funny to me. I mean, imagine explaining a meme without the internet! Bonus points if some of them start picking up on how to use the memes without knowing the context.

A friend of mine told me about a svsss au they don’t intend to write where Shen Jiu is a strict teacher and Shen yuan is the TA that grades his students papers so LBH and SY end up communicating through notes and doodles :)

Not really that fluffy but Any Hualian time travel or truth serum. There’s like, one truth serum fic in the TGCF fandom that’s good and Xie Lian has both so many secrets and also the sassiest thoughts. Also Xie Lian and Hua Cheng meeting while still alive (and possibly ascending together??).

I would also like to direct you to this post and this post because some aforementioned things are there but also various other ideas that could work. It was an idea day and today isn’t (unfortunately)

Any scenario in which anyone gets drunk. Literally pick a character and choose how they embarrass themselves and regret their decisions in the morning. Xie Lian could harp on about the dirty things he keeps to himself as well as insulting *so* many people, Hua Cheng could be very soft and emotional but also really kind and ends up giving so many compliments even to Feng Xin and mu qing (much to their shock and amusement) speaking of mu Qing, get him wasted. My man has so many emotions and unnecessary thoughts. Cuddle the man and make him laugh. I think he’d be a little more insecure openly but also happier. We’ve seen LWJ drunk but imagine wwx drunk. Idk if that’d be angsty or not but up to you. I think he’d be soft and VERY cuddly. Half of what he says is completely nonsensical but the other half is very sweet. Binghe would be clingy and Shen Yuan would probably be singing some modern pop song with airplane (who is equally wasted).

Outing myself here but non-explicit abo is probably one of my fav types of fluff. Idk something about people being intensely cuddly while surrounded by soft things and being incredibly vulnerable always gets me. Like, ‘nope, you’re mine to cuddle for the rest of the week. Live with it.’

Chatfics are my preferred crackfics because hell hath no chaos like a bunch of people smushed together in a gc with naming privileges and being unable to leave. Bonus points if it’s in high school so there’s extra drama and humor. Imagine Hua Cheng and Xie Lian haven’t confessed but everyone else knows? Hilarious. Mu Qing and Feng Xin fighting in the halls (again) over something stupid and getting suspended? Hilarious. SQX being girlfriends with HX and going on dates (they had a rough start with their relationship because Shi Wudu pulled some shit that was NOT run past SQX which led to a lot of difficulties but eventually they did become friends again and eventually lovers.)

Anyhow that’s all I can think of. I also had some fluffy-ish ideas for losing hope if you want those ;3
