I wanted to ask, what kind of character is Azra?

Does she have a story behind her, personality, likes and dislikes, what?

Azra is a Sifan soothsayer, herbalist, and "witch." Mostly a witch because that's what she prefers to be called....but not many gelfling take too kindly to that title.

She learned much of her talents from her paternal grandmother, who she calls Gran.

Both of her parents died while on an expedition when she was a childling. As a result, she fears the open sea and boarding ships. Unlike many/all Sifa who journey the open seas, Azra stays on land concocting potions and charms. She's quite popular amongst gelfling looking to get revenge on a former lover.

Azra is most famously known for her "odd" behavior of enjoying all things creepy, grotesque, and scary. Not too many gelfling genuinely enjoy her company, but she doesn't care. She has her soul sister, Shiyoon who belongs to my friend @jack-toons

Her personality is kinda hard for me to describe. She's laid back and chill, but she has her creepy antics that make her appear "weird," but she's a fun lass to be around once she's deemed someone her friend.

Azra dislikes loud gelfling, so she avoids big parties and taverns. Although she has a great love for her friends and family, Azra does not have time for romantic love. She's not interested in it and is happy to be single!

Azra has two pet giant centipedes who are named Goldie and Sawtooth. They are her babies and she speaks about them like any pet parent lol

I hope this gives a bit of insight on Azra. She's one of my favorite Ocs- lol I have so many but I love them all.

Eiria beating the crap out of Tore..

The room of Stone hall echoed with the sound of laughter. Eiria came to visit her Uncle, Ordon. As she started talking to him, she saw Tore. She knew Fleur was waiting for him, as she had seen her just moments before. But disgusted her was that Tore was loving another girl. She insulted him, as she yelled for his attention.

“Hey, Juice box!!” The young Stonewood whipped his head around, his eyes narrowed down, as he smiled to the woman that has insulted him.

“Well hello, gorge-“ The young Sifttan smacked him so hard he started crying.

“YOU CHEATER!!! FLEUR IS WAITING FOR YOU!! YOU LIED TO HER, JUST SO YOU CAN HAVE FUN WITH OTHER WOMEN?!?! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU, BITCH?!?!” Tore was about to say something but he was cut off.

“I don’t want to hear it from you..” She planted another punch in his face, she punched him so hard, that it deformed part of his face.

“So that you can never cheat on Fleur or any other woman you date…” Tore turned around, the moment his friends and girlfriends saw his face, they ran away in fear. His face showed a ton of anger as he turned back to the young Sifttan.

“You.. You MONSTER!!” Eiria laughed, as Ordon looked on in confusion. She proceeded to explain what she was doing in a taunting tone.

“Oh, Tore.. I’m not the monster.. I just showed your true self.” She turned around to walk out the door. But decided to add something to her statement.

“Oh! And Tore.. I’m married..” The young Stonewood stared at her in anger, he decided to ask her a hate question.

“Why should you care about her?” Eiria slightly turned around, giving him a stare as she smiled.

“Because she’s my friend, and we come from mix-clan blood. Now fuck off, and stay away from Fleur. But that apparently won’t be a problem for you since you don’t like being around her anyway..” Tore was terrified, he started to scoot away slowly, but Eiria flung him in the air.

“Ohh.. No. No. No.. You are not sugarcoating this, Mister.. You are coming with me so I can explain to her what you were doing behind her back..“

After getting her uncle to withdraw Tore from the castle, she met up with Fleur, having Tore in tow.

“Hey, Fleur!! I have something important to share with you!!” The Stonesan young girl turned to see her friend dragging her boyfriend, she looked at her confused.

“What is it, Eiria?” The young Sifttan looked at her friend with a devious look.

“I caught Tore cheating on you with a fellow Stonewood girl.” Fleur’s ears went back, her eyes in shock as tears poured out of her eyes. However her friend wasn’t done, as the young Sifttan dropped Tore.

“But.. I did teach him a lesson as you can see on his face. And.. I told him not be around you ever again.”

We were robbed of ever seeing this in comic form! (My fingers are crossed for a future dark Crystal aor comic in the future)

I headcanon that Ordon always said “father” when addressing himself and that’s why Rian calls him father instead of something familial. Idk, father/mother sounds formal and it fits Ordon’s strict attitude towards Rian later on. (Deet calls her dad’s, father, as well so maybe it’s the go it name for parents)

I really wish we had gotten to see Ordon loosening up more, especially with Rian. But hey, that’s what fanart/fanfics are for!

The Stonegrot family!

I picture Rian being the most awestruck when he holds Jen as a baby because in AoR he appears to not have any siblings (although in the books he does. I’m gonna go by what we’re given in the series) and holding someone as small as a baby in his arms would be a big thing for him.

Geez, seeing Jen touching Rian’s face and being surrounded by his loving parents makes their future so much more sad.

If you watch anime, you know what Deet’s hairstyle here represents lol. It might be hard to tell but Deet still has a bit of baby weight and absolutely loves wearing her old maternity dresses because a lot of them are big and comfy.

I just hope that (whenever we get a comic and if Stonegrot is confirmed as Jen’s parents) we get to see the three of them be a happy family for a bit. I know I really want to see that.

I don't know if you read the books but I always loved the scene in which kylan makes up a song about jarra jen to cheer Rian up and he makes him cry so maybe you could draw that! 💞

@selvaria-may-crystal I actually did read this part and it was so sweet! I also love how Kylan proudly tells Naia he made up the song!

I forgot to make Rian tear up but I’m really happy with this scene. Seeing this kinda makes me want to sketch these three interacting sometime again in the future.

I have no idea if I’ve already asked this BUT: Romeo and Juliet Stonegrot 👀

Here are Stonegrot reenacting a scene from the 1968 “Romeo & Juliet” film. I was going to draw them reenacting a scene from the Leonardo DiCaprio one but I really liked this posing more. Romeo & Juliet brings me back to when my middle school teacher had us watch both movies from beginning to end and I was so happy because movie classes are the best.

Stonegrot kinda do fit the star crossed lovers trope. Right as they’re getting closer, BOOM Deet has the darkening and up and leaves. Rian tries to heal the Crystal but.....we can all guess how that goes. So many possibilities to theorize how these two get close to peace and happiness but unfortunately that’s not how things will go for them (except in our no Skeksis/darkening/draining AU’s)

If there is a “Romeo & Juliet” type fanfic out there please let me know!

This was a lot but it is done!

It was really cool sketching a bunch of characters I haven’t drawn before. My favorite is Maudra Argot because I LOVE funny granny characters. I also never realized how much of a Mermaid Queen Maudra Laesid is! Like, her hair, her crown- I also find it really cool how her hair is mostly silky instead of in locs like Gurjin and Naia.

Also, Bobb’N! He’s so cute and I loved drawing him, I really enjoy drawing childlings, and believe me we are gonna see a bunch of new childlings soon!

I can imagine that Fara let's Eri off the hook, sometimes lol and maybe she even tries to relive her youth with Eri.

Thank you so much for this suggestion! When I read it the first time I pictured so many Eri and Fara family scenarios in my head. I assume the two of them were super close. Which makes Maudra Fara's death even more sad!!!

I’m so glad we got a Gelfling wedding and that we got to see these two be happy. Seladon being half Sifa was something I never would’ve guessed if I wasn’t so involved in the fandom lol. They make a cute couple and I really want to know more about them! I need to see official art of Kam’lu being a Papa!!!

@accursed-one The moment Azra catches wind of Eri having a pet Rakkida, she will be the first one to pet Vatuú so calmly lol

I had to draw the spooky witch, she loves all creatures of Thra that are ugly, scary and misunderstood. Here we also have a rare soft expression on Azra! I might do another one and reblog it after I get the last two asks done because there is one Oc who will give Eri the reaction she’s looking for lol but I had to draw my girl Azra!

These were all done on my train rides the past two days (hence why I personally think Cha’l and Kiel look slightly off) I also added Viara because she was my second Dark Crystal Oc and she deserved to be included. Originally this was going to be most of my young adult ocs but then Ofir, Rizzi, Sera and Ortun said, “hold up! What about....us?”

I need to get back into human proportions because some of their noses are slightly off. I also have a ship I am getting tempted to draw from an anime I’ve watched and my IG feed shows me all the cutest drawings of them.

Maybe I’ll do some of the canon characters as humans. I’m afraid my interpretations of them won’t be so unique or something that hasn’t been done.

Anywho~ these are just a portion of my Gelfling (and one Podling) ocs as humans! I hope you all enjoy this!

Zela and Fleur are friends and one day while they were out at a local tavern when Iryn caught the eye of Zela. Fleur being the romantic she is had to get them to speak with each other. Definitely check out Stonewoodsifa’s page because Zela and Iran’s romance is so cute and adorable!

Also thank goodness the Hup comics had a tavern scene because that’s what I referenced for the background!

Hello! I was wondering if maybe you can draw Shoni and Ordon with baby Rian?(❁´◡`❁)

Altering sketching this I realized how much we need to see these three together as a family! Ordon must’ve been so happy to become a father and kinda settle into life away from the battlefield. I bet Shoni was an awesome mother and so thrilled to see more of Ordon interacting with Rian!

i really wanna see razer and cha'l have a dance off lol

If you read this with the Mortal Kombat voice it makes it funnier lol

As we all must know, Cha’l and Razer are two of the best dancers and they don’t mess around when they’re feeling the music. If these two see the other, move aside because it’s gonna be a dance battle full of moves you’ve never seen before. And they will not hold back until one of them yields...or the tavern owner tells them to stop. They are two kings of the dance floor and Shiyoon and Fleur are their queens. When either or both couples are dancing it’s gonna get attention and end with applause.

Cha’l won’t admit it but his dance battles with Razer are their bonding moments, especially when he noticed Fleur spending a little too much time with a certain Sifa. And you better believe at big family gatherings (WanderingSails, Azra, Tau, etc are all included because they are all family to the Stonesans) these two will break out into a dance-off, their dance rivalry will go down in history lol

Here’s something no one thinks of but, Mitjan being Tavra’s father... I hypothesize that the sisters come from 3 different fathers.

Kam’Lu - Seladon’s father

Mitjan- Tavra’s father

The Librarian- Brea’s father

What do you think about this opinion?

This is a very interesting opinion. However I personally don't agree.

On one angsty hand I can see Tavra and Brea being the daughters of another father and Seladon being Kam'lu's only daughter.

But on the other I can see all three princesses being Kam'lu's daughters. It could explain some of the affinity Tavra has for going to the Sifa. (I haven't read Tides of TDC yet so I could be wrong about Tavra having a prior interest to the Sifan Coast before saving Onica). I would assume that Kam'lu took Seladon and Tavra to the Sifan Coast and would be a stepping stone for Tavra going out there again when she's older. I can also imagine the stories he tells really excited Tavra the most and created a desire for Tavra to join the Paladins and have adventures.

I can't see Mitjan as Tavra's father (personally) because in the context of the series the Grottan have been underground and many gelfling believed they died out. I would also imagine that more Grottan traits would be much more visible such as very dark brown/almost black eyes and bigger ears/eyes, as they are traits that are unique only to the Grottan (maybe the green skin would be more visible too but some of the Vapra have a slightly yellow-greenish tint to them or I'm just seeing things lol) So much so that the other gelfling would question Mayrin about Tavra's father.

Based on the Stonewood gelfling reaction to Deet, I imagine a majority of the Vapra being just as cruel. I see most of them turning a blind eye to a half Sifan princess but berate Mayrin for having half grottan princess and make Tavra have a terrible childhood full with bullying and rude comments on a daily basis.

As for Brea I picture her being too young to have any memory of Kam'lu (which makes me sad) And although the Librarian is most likely an important adult figure in her life, I see their relationship as more of an Uncle and Niece who share the same interests. Or as a teacher and student who are as close as family (if that makes sense). Maybe it could be read as him being a father-figure to her, but I personally see him more as an Uncle or positive male role model.

This is becoming long lol but one last thing. I can see Kam'lu being the father of all three princesses with the idea of Mayrin balancing being the All-Maudra and a single mother at the same time. I can't begin to imagine how hard being a single mother is, as well as the "mother" to all Gelfling, on top of grieving the loss of your true love. I'm sure some of Mayrin's lack of affection and nurturing towards all her daughters (all in different ways) is most likely because of stress, grief and continuing the cycle of "all-maudra first, a mother second" her mother taught her.

I could probably go on about attempting to analyze/theorize about Mayrin, but we'd get an essay lol.
