13. …discreetly.

Espio doesn't like games, but one he and Silver have unceremoniously dubbed Giving Each Other Discreet Kisses Until Caught By Rowdy Housemates does bring him no small amount of amusement.

It's a game that Silver invented, actually. Where television nights are usually dominated by Vector and Charmy having an argument about what to watch, the two other inhabitants of the Agency are left with only bickering and rapidly-switching tv programs to entertain them. Espio is glad to study it from a distance while not getting involved in the slightest; he doesn't even like watching television much. But Silver does get bored far more easily than he does... The sensation of a kiss and nibble right on his chest some nights ago had made Espio snort, he'd immediately retaliated on soft grey quills, and from that day onwards they've been having their little competition every single night so far: who can sneak the most discreet kisses onto the other without Vector and Charmy noticing?

Today Espio's in the lead, though mostly because he's managed to manoeuvre Silver's head around so his mouth is not anywhere near Espio's body from where he lays trapped on the chameleon's lap. If Silver strains, he can turn and twist somewhat so he can assault Espio's knees with kisses; but that's right in view of Vector and Charmy, madly discussing the merits of either watching Chao in Space or Crime Investigators. Espio's got himself in a much better position, with the back of Silver's head right there for him to play with; hidden behind Silver's long quills he can assault the other's ears without interruption, and so far he's yet to be questioned about why he's sitting so slouched.

Silver's ear is trying to escape the pecks through plentiful wriggling, trying to veer from one side to the other to throw Espio off like a worm skedaddling around on the sidewalk. It doesn't work; a kiss gets pressed right on its tip the moment it flicks by again, and Espio grins at the huff of breath getting blown into his knees. Yes, today he'll be the undisputed winner of the competition of discreet kisses-

Though a loud "Espio!!" makes him shoot right up.

"What-?" the chameleon grumbles at the interruption, one hand moving up to part two of Silver's quills so he can look through. Vector and Charmy are staring at him with their arms crossed, a perfect copy of each other. "Apologies. You've been at it for so long, I lost track of what you are doing," Espio defends himself, ignoring Silver's ear cheekily flicking now that he can't do anything to kiss it anymore. "What is the matter?"

"The tv's on the fritz," Vector huffs, tail lashing. And indeed, crackling grey static fills the screen, with some crunching noises that make Espio wince filling the air. They can't afford a new one... but on the other hand, at least it spares him a fight between his colleagues about what program to watch.

"Really now? How woeful," the chameleon retorts with very little woefulness in his voice, Silver getting a lavish little scratch over his head. "That is what you get when you're so manically changing the programs every other second. Doesn't seem like you will be able to watch much television tonight."

"Espio!!" Charmy whines in horror. "Pleaaaaase, can you take a look? I want to watch Chao in Space!"

"And I want to watch Crime Investigators!!" the bickering starts up again immediately. Fondly Espio sighs, his beloved stretching himself out ever so extensively on his lap while rather promptly becoming about thrice as heavy all of a sudden. Well, Silver has spoken; Vector and Charmy aren't paying attention to them anymore anyway, fussing with the television as they are, and thus Espio gladly resumes his and Silver's little competition with a peck pressed right between the quills on his back this time. Though, he has to muffle a chuckle at the kiss getting clumsily pushed against one knee, both because it tickles and because Vector and Charmy notice nothing.

It's easy to be discreet with such colleagues.

if jordan and tom are there for the whole ghost capsize situation, it’d be really funny for jordan to just be like on martha’s side of the whole thing like “unfortunately she does have a point about this :/“ because he views her as the lesser of two evils (said evils being spark and a dead capsize 💀)

Oh YES 100% Jordan ends up with Martha on the side of “We should exorcise Capsize rather than revive her.”

He doesn't start out agreeing, since I really doubt he learnt the lesson of necromancy bad from Season Two and he definitely hasn't learnt that Capsize actively disliked him. But the seeds of frustration do get replanted almost immediately when ghost Capsize first appears and excitedly greets Tom first. He tries to write it off as her just knowing Tom had a piece of her soul and wanting to be reconnected with it. But that excuse quickly wears thin as (as in the actual ‘canon’ of my post timeline) Wag extends the binding of her spirit so she latch onto anyone in the group as opposed to being stuck with Spark. She still mostly sticks with Spark, but also appears often with Sonja and Tom. More noticeable, she avoids Jordan with the same fervour as she avoids Ruxomar Dianite and tends to harass him whether she is forced to be near him.

Jordan I think pretty quickly falls down the route of “Capsize isn't herself, if she's revived it'll just fail again.” And very reluctantly agreeing with Martha that they should instead just try to put her soul to rest.

Now, I think Spark and Jordan's relationship is interesting. In my actual post timeline, Spark isn't meant to dislike Jordan, even if he has the occasional resentful thought about the events of Season Two, he mostly sees Jordan (and the rest of Season One champions and the pirates) in the same vein as he sees Alyssa and Andor: people with the weight of the world thurst onto them way too young. Jordan sees this as condescending and also assumes that Spark does genuinely and actively resent him for the events of Season Two due to his own guilt over the loss of Ianite. And I think with Jordan and Tom being introduced alongside all the others while Capsize is still dead, makes their opinions of each other worse.

Spark sees the way Jordan gets so quickly frustrated with Capsize and his flip towards not reviving her and it doesn't exactly leave the best impression. Especially when said attitude is mixed with Capsize already having a clear dislike towards Jordan (which Spark now has somewhat of an explanation for), he ends up outwardly frustrated with Jordan now.

Meanwhile Jordan sees how Capsize interacts with Spark, being noticeably friendlier than she treats him. And I think he kinda jumps back into his Season One behaviour. But less that Spark is “Mr Steal Your Girl” and more like Spark has stolen his position as champion. Because Capsize seems to love him and Ianite is very clearly on board with reviving Capsize and appreciates Spark helping to do so.

Basically there is A LOT of tension between Jordan and Spark even before Jordan fully joins Martha in the opinion of let's not revive Capsize.

Now, there is a very particular scene within the canon of my post timeline that I have not written yet but is very important to the ghost Capsize section. Namely when Martha actually goes to Spark to suggest that they try to exorcise Capsize rather than revive her.

This, for obvious reasons, turns into a massive mess as, despite Spark and Martha both staying relatively calm, Capsize is there and listening. Capsize being there wouldn't have particularly mattered if Martha didn't say: “We should let her rest, go to whatever afterlife is waiting for her.”

The latest living memories Capsize has at this point are the event of Chapter One of Third Time's the Charm. So the idea of moving onto her actual afterlife ends with her lashing out in fear and using an ability I believe I've mentioned in a previous ask: forcing people to relive her memories. Martha and Spark both ends up reliving the events of Third Time's the Charm Chapter One and Capsize herself ends up hiding and refusing to actual show herself for about a week.

The reason I bring up that scene is this ask gave me the idea for the equivalent scene this AU of my own AU that ends up a bigger mess because of the key differences being:

- Jordan insists that he go and try to persuade Spark.

- Spark doesn't have the same desire to speak calmly with Jordan as he did with Martha.

- Jordan doesn't have the same desire as Martha to not yell at Spark.

- Capsize has another fragment of her soul from Tom and therefore has more control over her ghostly form and abilities

So basically it devolves into a honestly quite vicious argument between Spark and Jordan that ends up barely about Capsize and more just the two laying into each other. When Jordan says something that seems to genuinely upset Spark, Capsize ends up angry enough to purposely lash out at Jordan and force him to experience her memories of him. She then proceeds to poltergeist and not let anyone near the unconscious Jordan until Tom and Sonja arrive and manage to calm her down (Spark was not attempting to calm her down).

I don't know the exact fallout this causes, other than a whole mess, but you did give me a very good idea of a scene that would happen in this version of the timeline and I hope you enjoyed it ^-^

FRANZISKA........ok first of all I just have to say I love her character design. Her outfit really caught my attention when I first saw her, I think it's the puffed sleeve and the giant jewel on her bow. It makes her stand out, gives her an image of authority/royalty...she's important and she's making sure everyone knows it! She's like go big or go home!!!

You know those characters that have been Through It and all you can think is man they should just start attacking people.....franziska does that with her whip!! People can be weird about it (hence the 'everyone else is wrong about them' - I actually think most fans are normal about the whipping but I've seen some bad opinions which is why I coloured the square lol) but I think it's clever. I really like when characters lash out and demand attention & respect, especially taking into account that franziska is a young female prosecutor in a man's world pressured to be Absolutely Perfect and live up to her father's name....oougghh it's a lot. It's a lot!!!!

I love her a lot, she's so cool & complex & I can't even go into her relationship with her family or else I'll just be rambling a whole lot & I won't make much sense lol. Anyways play/watch aa2 and cry with me over the overwhelming grief & pressure she faces in real time!

3. Do you usually play as a warrior, mage, or rogue? Which class are you planning to try first this time around? Which subclass?

i always either play rogues or mages in dragon age games! i have been going back and forth between a few ideas but as of this moment typing, i'm leaning towards rogue for my first playthrough, perhaps the ranger option? i think it depends on how i end up liking the combat; for dai i always went ranged bc i didn't really like the up-close fighting for that game, but otherwise i usually go for dual wielding rogues. it also depends on what ends up fitting better once we learn a bit about the backgrounds connected to the factions (i'm leaning shadow dragons).

my other idea is a goth necromancer mage after a convo with @serawasnever earlier where she pointed out the similarities in the vibes of the wiki page on the mourn watch and the ninth house from the locked tomb series... the locked tomb brainrot is so real efoiajoi

that being said, i will definitely change my mind at least five times before the game actually comes out 😂

12. What's one thing you're hoping we DON'T see in this next game?

i, uh. have a long list aowfijeoai but mostly just a lot of the usual pitfalls in dragon age's writing or it shipping incomplete or rushed like the previous games. and i am REALLY hoping that they handle the themes of slavery with more respect in this one, especially considering that it will partially take place in tevinter.

Hey, could you tell us more about the majors?

I actually don’t have much information on the majors as of right now. I want them to have a little more mechanical significance than just a few differing lines of text. They’re going to have an actual effect on later things in the game, maybe a certain major will give you access to an area or the MC will have knowledge that lets them make different decisions. It wouldn’t affect anything major bc while I have big ambitions, that would just be a lot of extra work.

There will be 5 majors to choose from and each one will kind of sort of in spirit be connected to a specific RO, but won’t actually affect approval with them. I’ve been brainstorming what could work. The only one I’m set on rn is Environmental Science

37. Who wanted to see Oppenheimer; who Barbie? Did they switch opinions after?

I didn't watch Oppenheimer myself, but afaik it's just like three hours of nuclear bomb-related stuff or something? If they were forced to choose between both these movies I think Espio would go for Oppenheimer and Silver tentatively for Barbie, but I also think that neither is really impressed by the movies nor would go there out of their free will XD

38. If/when they have kids, what is their parenting style (or pets-who does what)?

I think Silver is the more loose parent, who's more cool with shenanigans and who figures the children will be able to look after themselves far more quickly than Espio does. Espio meanwhile probably doesn't want to be super strict, but considering his diligence and soulful nature I figure he'll be the stricter parent who tends to worry more than Silver does. That being said, both of them adore their child (which in my world would be little baby Lilac <3), and I figure they'd make quite good parents with a bit of practice. Silver can encourage Espio to loosen up a bit and give their child the freedom to explore the world without their dads hovering over their shoulder at every turn, and Espio meanwhile trusts Silver to intervene when things get dire. But overall, they'd be loving and involved parents, I think! ^-^

Although they are young, they have survived previous wars, but this current war is the most difficult of all. This is a war of genocide, and the difficulty of the war lies in the inability to meet the needs of my son Adam, who needs special care.

Over the past ten months, we have been caught in the crossfire of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Our once peaceful home in Khan Yunis has been reduced to rubble, and now we find ourselves displaced in Deir al-Balah, living in squalid conditions in a makeshift tent on the streets. The devastation not only deprived us of our physical shelter, but also destroyed my livelihood - the once thriving business that supported our family's well-being, is now in ruins. The daily struggle for survival is exacerbated by the scarcity of basic necessities such as clean water, adequate sanitation and basic medical supplies

Our home was the place where we found hope and safety, and where we made precious memories. Losing him was like losing years of our lives.

Not only that, they destroyed my source of livelihood, burned it, and demolished it with bulldozers, and today I am without a home and without a job. I was working in a store I owned that met the needs and expenses of my family

Living in tents is miserable. There is a lack of drinking water, hot sun rays, and strange insects that have terrified my children. What I love about them: God I wish I had even half of the drive & ambition (and energy) this man has to chasing his dreams he’s like Sonic but less cocky and more free-willed & i don’t think I can remember any other Pokemon character being this excited over just the slight chance of achieving their goals c’:

What I hate about them: It’s been a long while since I played SoulSilver but I didn’t find him creepy/stalker-like at all like the fandom likes to assume…? So I don’t really hate him for anything ._.;

Favorite Moment/Quote: Still cry over the fact that he congratulates you if you successfully catch Suicune. Man could’ve said nothing or told you off for crushing his dream but he decided to thank you instead for the chance to meet Suicune what did we do to deserve this man ;-;

What I would like to see more focus on: I do find it kinda weird that only Suicune gets the focus and not any other Legendary Beast…? We don’t get any context for why Eusine is only focused on Suicune specifically instead of the other two so that might’ve been cool to see i guess ._.; (I mean we kinda sorta got a special episode with Raikou I think but idk I don’t think that counts)

What I would like to see less focus on: Why did they make Eusine yell at Ash. I mean…I get why (kid basically claimed to see the gay chicken god but Eusine wasn’t having it) but why c’: (he never yelled at the player in-game so I see the anime Eusine as very ooc)

Favorite pairing with: Morty x Eusine! (Sacredshipping) but sometimes Jasmine x Eusine too (I think it’s called Simpleshipping…? Kinda basic if you ask me :P but still cute ^-^)

Favorite friendship: Guzma & Steven Stone. Guzma cuz of my oc phase (where basically my oc was friends with a bunch of Pokemon characters & became a crime-fighting team i dont care if its cringe shut up). Steven because I can see these two accidentally/coincidentally running into each other a bunch of times for them to eventually meet up & eventually become travelling buddies.

NOTP: …nobody ships him with Suicune right? …Right?

Favorite headcanon: I still like to think he’s a waterbender who learned from his uncle (which is the dude in Celadon City that can only be accessed through Surf). I mean…it gives further context for why he’s searching for Suicune specifically, plus I doubt any of his Pokemon know Surf either & it’d be kinda hard to chase a water deity if you don’t know how to use Surf yourself ._.;

What I love about them: He was the only male Ghost Gym Leader until the shy guy kid from Galar came along & stole his title :c in all seriousness tho I think he has the best character design out of all the Ghost Type Gym Leaders, even the Gen 4 design wasn’t too on the nose (like Agatha or the shy guy kid again, yeah yeah I know his name but i never played Sword/Shield so i’m not using it) or too obtrusive (Fantina…) Also his voice actor’s AMAZING and very underrated I wish people knew about Andrew Rannells more :c

What I hate about them: The Gen 4 design was still kinda pushing it as far as Ghost Gym Leader aesthetic goes & I still like his Gen 2/Anime design better but that’s just me :/ (also he killed my starter on my nuzlocke run when i was 11 ;-;)

Favorite Moment/Quote: I love the part in the anime where Ash asks: “wait you can talk to/understand Ghost Pokemon how?” And Morty just immediately answers “Practice.” (Also again thank you Andrew Rannels for the way the line was delivered I can’t do it justice but it’s like he saying “uuuh how do you do anything Ash huh?” xD)

What I would like to see more focus on: I don’t really see much of a problem with how he’s portrayed in game and/or the anime actually! True, more screen time and/or backstory is greatly appreciated for his interest in Ho-oh (at least in game, the anime is fine) but for what we got, I’m glad we had a Gym Leader who actually paid attention to/studied the mythos of the region for once instead of just being generic miniboss no. 14 (it might’ve been kinda cool to see his clairvoyance used more like in the manga but idk how that would work ._.;)

What I would like to see less focus on: idk he doesn’t get much screen time so there’s not much i can say about him that wasn’t needed…? Unlike Eusine, Morty’s initial attitude towards Ash (dismissing his claims about rainbow birb) made sense for his character (because he didn’t yell at him) but I guess if anyone was going to give Ash a hard time it should’ve been Morty, not Eusine. (Though this would’ve made for some annoying/petty/unnecessary drama so I can’t complain ._.;)

Favorite pairing with: Eusine (Sacredshipping) & Steven Stone (Knightshipping I think…? idk the pokeship list is a mess) Morty & Eusine both hold a special place in my heart for being the first Pokemon characters I liked (and for fueling the oc dream team I mentioned earlier) but I can also see some chemistry with Steven too! They can be chill together c:

Favorite friendship: uuuh does frenemies count cuz I still think Yellowjacket (Guzma x Morty) is the best Guzma ship I’ve come up with yet, platonic or otherwise (though I see them more as frenemies than lovers) I can also see AZ & Morty being close friends too…? idk i just want my top two favs to be buddies & share stories about their history and legendaries together 🥺

NOTP: I used to see Falkner x Morty EVERYWHERE on deviantart and it was very yabai 😬 (though hopefully that’s changed now…? It was less about the characters themselves & more about how they were portrayed…shota…)

Favorite headcanon: because I have been sucked into a new fandom hell I like to think Morty is Keito Hasumi’s uncle and I’ve been meaning to recreate my old dead rp blog just to write about their dynamic but he basically taught Keito everything he knows about music (and possibly magic) and was basically Keito’s second dad (since his real dad is probably too busy working as a monk) and no this totally isn’t just another way for me to put two of my fav characters together whaddya talking about (also the fact that both of these characters have the voices of an angel seriously go look up Andrew Rannells and Yuichiro Umehara right now they are too good for this world ;-;)
