Talking to other partnering aros: Yeah so I've been reading original fics on AO3 to try and find some good queerplatonic stuff. Theres a steady stream if you filter by the queerplatonic tag which is nice. The problem is that most of it's either too short for me or just underdeveloped background characters but its something. Yeah it sucks to settle for that but you know how dire it is finding rep.

Talking about being aro to allos: No Im aroace. That means aromantic and asexual. They're different things. It- no asexual means a lack of sexual attraction. They can be different.

#I’ll always be her defender #writing wise it’s a disappointing and bad choice for gege to write hana and by extension angel out #when there’s SO much there that was skimmed over the second they failed to kill sukuna #and for what? because Hana’s missing an arm?? even then there could be more dialogue between characters or angel flashbacks #but that aside fans also say the worst shit #that typical thing where a teenage girl is kinda cringey and silly. then suddenly there’s people ripping her apart for being annoying/whiny #same w the fan polls where i saw comments saying maki and nobara being low is bc jjk is bad with women #and yes it absolutely is bad in that department. but that is Not why inumaki or naoya place so high above 😭#I’m glad there’s more love for Mai too. she falls into a similar place as hana where she doesn’t have a huge role #and there were missed writing opportunities (although I think Mai’s presence is pretty great tbh)#but fans overlook everything (and esp. their relationships and trauma) and just call her names #that’s enough of my monthly rant where i want to vent a little about characters deserving more from fans and the creator #look all I’m saying is if inumaki can have such a huge fan base just bc people like his design #then why not hana!! she has an interesting backstory - is funny - AND has amazing fashion

also it might be a fandom joke but i can 100% believe hockey rpf fucks like a rabid rhino (in terms of quality, not content). and this is because i have the biggest writer crush on this one atz rpf writer who's younger than me (i think?) but has already achieved some real fucking mastery of the craft. their writing is alive, not even as in "wow! relatable!" but simply because it's so rich, detailed and vivid. the writer pays attention to the things i would've never thought of examining, leads their characters through painful but incredibly satisfying development, skillfully maps out their gender, sexuality and mental health issues, and despite having several different aus, the characters are never just repainted cardboard cutouts -- every time they're slightly different, adjusted to the world they're in, but nonetheless recognizable. would this writer be able to write like this in non-rpf fandoms? entirely possible! but i know them from their rpf writing, and finding it was a fucking blessing.

#ok i kno i was just spiraling 2 seconds ago but one of our coauthors just commented on the paper #and hes only a coauthor bc hes in charge of access to the national park and has been extremely generous abt letting us get in there #with our destructive sampling so my boss makes him a coauthor on everything #and he said hes thinks its an incredible paper. one of the most important theyve seen for the park #which like hes not an expert on this stuff and this stuff seems real sciency but like my guy #u r on like a million amazing paleontology papers. like fucking ive seen ur name in mainstream articles #i mean theyre still Sciencey articles but like yea its real weird to hear the name of someone u kno on like a podcast lol #but just like idk the park is so fucking cool and despite my stress i think this project is the one ive found most interesting #and the fact that i got to do it at this specific park is fucking rad #so idk not all doom and gloom #damn u [redacted] u melted my heart a little #when i met him he also quoted my annoyingly dramatic writing back to myself bc i made a presentation abt #looking at microbes in the park lol #i mean in a positive way. he liked the presentation. i just find myself annoying lmao #unrelated

While I loved that interaction, that is all we got about something that could be taken as two of the most important (alive) people in Gojo's life mentioning him, thinking of him with fondness, or coming anywhere close to mourning him.

Then we got two pages of resolution of whatever emotional turmoil these two have going on

#And I do love the Megumi and Shoko scene! I do love it! But come on!!!#When I say Gege Akutami is introducing a lot of whatever characters to give them an ending #and then doing nothing in comparison with the main cast I mean this kind of stuff #I get there's five episodes left and a lot of things and characters he wants to give closure to but precisely #There's just five chapters left. When Nanami died there was that short yet heavy scene between Ijichi‚ Shoko and Gojo #in which they mused there was only the three of them left anymore. There's nothing of the sort for Shoko or Ijichi now at the very end #The closest thing we've gotten is that one moment between Megumi and Shoko I just posted #And these dynamics are heavy and they imply very important characters pertaining to the main cast #Yet there's two pages of these two. Not to talk about the rushing of arcs that's been happening in these two last chapters #But if there's going to be truly a second part I think not entirely closed narrative arcs is not as terrible #But not closing 'emotional' arcs? That feels more clumsy to me. I don't think carrying 'emotional' arcs to a second part is as easy #The emotiveness and weight of the dynamics belong to this story. The author could extend on the second part more on idk #Megumi dealing with the loss of Tsumiki or Shoko with loneliness or whatever. For instance #But the very moment of grieving over Tsumiki or Gojo with everything they've been right after their loss with everything their loss means?#It belongs to this story alone. Just like the moment of dealing with Nanami's recent decease belonged to that moment/this story #And I feel the author is not giving at all the main characters almost any time to breath that for now. And idk. It's sad #And it's awkward writing I think. The absence so noticeable #And I feel it's something that can't be as easily done or added or developed later or on another story/part #So the numerous panels of much more secondary characters rushing narrative and emotional arcs for and with them feels to me a weird choice #All while Yuuji just made an offhand comment about Choso. All while Shoko had barely nothing at all. Ijichi and Todo had nothing #The Kamo boy had one panel. Nor Yuta nor Megumi nor Yuuji made any comment about Gojo #Perhaps we could admit those letters and that faint smile of Megumi as closure enough. But it's so weird #The panel proportion between main characters and very secondary characters and what they're being used for. It's weirdly distributed I think #It feels awkward and anticlimactic in a bad way #And it's very much a very clear example of what I meant every time I said JJK had the potential to be amazing and it's just mid haha #*sigh* it is what it is I guess #I don't want a second part at all tbh I hope they're not going with that #I talk too much #JJK spoilers
