As the old saying goes: "Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes".

From what the beings of the multiverse have to offer, Izuku desires to understand his former friend Katsuki by gaining the Quirk, Explosion. They granted Izuku's wish by bestowing him a Quirk that's the same as Katsuki, and to Izuku's surprise and subsequent delight, activating Explosion feels like...in his own words..."freedom".

Once Izuku gets the hang of it, he gets into a kneeling position and lets his emotions and passions loose. Allowing him to achieve a short-lived flight through the air as the giddiness and wonder he always has deep down regarding the numerous times he saw Katsuki use his Quirk to propel himself in the air.

I absolutely love this reaction.

The context of stealing the immortal peaches, then impersonating a guest for the peach festival, then stealing and drinking almost all of the wine for the festival, and then stealing Laozi's elixir is what finally cleared Sun Wukong's mind to realize that he kinda sillied too close to the sun.

Nothing of what he has done so far has gotten this kind of reaction. Not him defying Heaven, and calling himself "The Great Sage Equal to Heaven" in a tantrum fueled rage because of his low title, not him beating the shit out off Heavenly Warriors trying to arrest him, not him threating the Old Dragon Kind and family for a weapon plus martial attire, and surely not him storming hell and basically messing up with the Life and Death book.

Sun Wukong has basically walked fresh as a peach from every single one of his adventures until now. He was going to walk away from the peach gardens too! But Sun Wukong has learned a lot in Heaven, and in his knowledge this is the type of mischief that he can't escape from with brute strenght, and machinations.

But now that old Monkey has commited so many things in a single day, he knows that he fucked up badly, and the only possible solution for now is going back to Flower - Fruit Mountain, and not go out for a century I guess.

Does Yabureme sleep? I’ve never been clear on if Kurogiri needs to sleep/eat either

Yes he does! This is gonna be addressed in a specific way later so no drawrings for this one but.

I'm not sure about Kurogiri or the other Nomus. Based on what I could find online and the fact that the majority? of Nomu are made from corpses and are bioengineered, I always assumed they don't need sleep (or nourishment) but in reality it's gotta be that they do need some kind of energy-generation even if it's not in the form that is standard for living things. Like, it depends on their individual physiology. Which makes me think that out of all the Nomu that exist, Kurogiri is the one least in need of the things a (normal) physical body requires to survive

Because of his physiology, Yabureme needs as much sleep as he did when he was still Aizawa. Does he get it? No. Does that become a problem? Hell yes

omggggg thank you! I'm still early in bnha but the logistics (physically/medically and culturally) of how quirks work fascinate me and momo's in particular is interesting because it's both so intensely physical, at least as far as quirks go (like she's no tokoyami or uraraka calling upon ephemeral universal forces. the stuff she makes with creation comes out of her body. she's transmuting her own flesh into weapons) and relatively unexplored in terms of how she goes through the world.

I'm not discounting the effects of the out-of-universe drive to give female characters appropriately feminine, sexualizable abilities (debates about momo's hero costume are as old as time and I am NOT interested in adding to it here lol) on the power horikoshi chose to give her and how it's characterized in the story, but the sci-fi nerd in me likes being watsonian when it comes to this kind of thing so I'll disregard it in this post.

I'm 99% sure that how momo uses her powers in-story implies that she isn't strictly held to conservation of matter/energy, because she makes SO much shit without suffering any ill effects. in the fight between her, todoroki and aizawa she habitually makes flash grenades (and discreet cases to hide them in!) for the whole battle without any issues. there's no way she could fight as easily she does there while constantly taking grenade-sized chunks out of herself—so I don't believe she does. unless momo is truly just taking the rapid loss of her own body mass during battle like a champ, then there's no way she's using matter on a 1 : 1 basis here. she's gotta be fudging it somehow!

on a related note, where is she getting all the different elements necessary for the things she wants to make? when she makes flash grenades, where in her body/diet does she get all of the necessary, non-metabolizable materials to make that from? does she have a diet specialized for human 3d printers? taking another option, if her quirk gives her the ability to eat normally and naturally metabolize that food into whatever elements she needs for the things she wants to make, then does her quirk allow her to just casually do nuclear fusion?

she mentions during the midterms subplot that she's good at physics and chemistry because she needs to understand how to make something before she can construct it. this is a minor detail, but it makes me insane with how many questions it opens up. this applies to all quirks to a certain extent (I like to think about the famous "what is it like to be a bat?" philosophical essay in considering this, specifically the idea that you can imagine what it's like to have sensory perception/abilities other than your own, but that's not the same as the lived experience of it), but what is the lived experience of manifesting something out of your body like? what does momo feel when she uses her quirk? does she have to visualize wholeass blueprints in her head and 3d print them on the spot? is it more automatic than that? how do the mental and physical aspects of her quirk affect each other?

Shoutout to Batman: Dark Victory for having the most efficient “you already know what happens here” storytelling I’ve ever seen outside of fanfiction. One guy mentions going to the circus, we see tickets on another guy’s desk, then you turn the page and BOOM! The Graysons are already dead. Turn it again, now Dick’s in the Batcave. They really did straight-up skip 2/3 of his origin, because they didn’t want to bother.
