y/n l/n : second year in teyvat university. A while back they had an on & off situationship with Scaramouche from their econ class. They broke up over the lack of communication on his part and Scaramouche's deteriorating mental health. Shikanoin Heizou was, without any trace of doubt, the easiest person to hate.

How could you not hate him, with his smooth words laced with subtle smugness, like he always knew something that you didn’t; with the way he picked apart your theories until they were completely frayed apart by his ‘intuition’?

And how could you not hate that delicately crafted face, all soft features artfully arranged like a priceless work of art? His eyes, that were big and doe-like, the softest shade of olive green that you’ve ever laid eyes on. And underneath them, twin moles that dotted across his face, beauty marks in the truest sense of the word.

His hair was especially hateable, with how it loosely hung in choppy layers and framed his face, in a shade of beautifully rich wine-red. And of course it was pulled behind him, hanging across the back of his neck, just waiting to be untied and spilled across his shoulders.

More than anything, you hate the way he stared at you with those piercing eyes of his; how he always met your gaze with a hint of a challenge in his smirk, and a huff of laughter every time he managed to get under your skin.

(How he looked at you gently, with the barest flicker of reverence reflected across his eyes, staring at you like you were a puzzle box just waiting to be solved.)

“Quiz time,” Heizou croons, leaning forward in his chair. He rests his elbows against the desk and cups his cheek in his hands, rhythmically tapping along his cheek in pattern only he seemed to understand. “Why is my dear co-worker looking so sour today?”

You let out a sigh. “I am fine.”

“Mm, but my intuition tells me something is on your mind. And you know what they say—” Heizou’s smile widens minutely. “—My intuition is never wrong.”

“You say that.”

“Other people say that too.”

You don’t bother that with a retort, only scoffing in disbelief. Heizou’s face shifts into a frown, and he moves his arms to rest folded across his chest.

“They do. See—” He raises his voice, calling over to another detective across the room. “Hey, Uesugi. Is my intuition ever wrong?”

“No, sir!”

“Exactly.”

“So you have a fanboy. Big deal. That doesn’t mean you don’t make mistakes.”

“Shall we put that to the test, then?” Heizou asks. He stands; pausing to stretch his arms, exposing the barest sliver of skin around his waist. “Let’s see~”

Heizou approaches your desk, surveying its contents. For a second you wonder if you would be able to sweep away the junk lying across it, if only to avoid Heizou’s scrutiny. “Messy. Messier than usual.”

“This is how it always looks—”

“Lie.”

You scowl at him, hoping that your irritation makes him reconsider whatever game he’s playing. It, of course, does not.

“You also came in late today. When you did finally arrive, you were flustered, like you were in a rush before you left.” He recounts.

“I slept in.”

“Lie.” Heizou hums. “You’ve been late because you overslept before, and you’ve never been that on edge. Something happened that caused you to be late, but it wasn’t your sleeping habits. There is something in your life—something personal that you don’t want to share. Now, I know not to pry, so I’m not going to ask you what is wrong. But I do know for a fact that there is something wrong.”

“That 'evidence' is all circumstantial.” You protest. “It doesn’t prove anything.”

“Ah, but that brings me to the final piece of evidence—” Before you could blink, he was right in front of you. One hand—a smooth, uncalloused hand with nails painted black—reaches out and cups your cheek. His touch is light, barely ghosting across your skin, as he uses the tip of his finger to brush across the space underneath your eye.

“The shadows under your eyes are very dark. You haven’t slept in days, have you?” Heizou’s voice is quiet, and sounds startlingly genuine. Combined with the concern that practically seeped out of his expression, it was enough to send your head spinning and breath tightening in your chest. For a second, it was enough to make you think he wholeheartedly, truly cared for you.

But this was Heizou you were talking about.

Your hand stretches out of its own accord and slaps his away from your face. He looks barely affected by the sudden movement and leans back against his own desk with a satisfied expression.

“So?” Heizou prompts. The uncharacteristically gentle moment was gone, replaced with his usual bravado. “Was I right?”

“I despise you.” You hiss under your breath, rubbing under your eyes to scrub away the feeling of his hands on your face.

Heizou tilts his head, the corner of his mouth ticking upwards into a smirk. “Lie.”

Well he manages, and you followed him embarrassingly fast once he told you his name on Twitch.

Tuning into his streams brings you so much joy. His community is really chill albeit super horny and you’ve found that you fit right in.

His Twitch name is Cyclone and he calls his  chat ‘His detectives.’

You eagerly open up Twitch once you get the notification that Heizou has gone live. “Hello, my little detectives. Have any new leads for me today?”

The way you clutched your chest as your heart skipped a beat.

One time he told chat when he’ll go live just to go live an hour earlier. What was he doing that whole hour? Just chatting. Chat asked Heizou any question they wanted and he answered. Too bad for the majority that only a handful of chatters showed up, including yourself.

Once more people started flooding in, Heizou ended the stream to delete the Vod before he began a new stream at his usual time.

To say chat was flabbergasted is an understatement.

One time he got so mad he was visibly raging on stream which resulted in you crying tears of laughter, but you don’t tell him that.

The other mod isn’t there as often but they’re super chill and dependable. They ban with a swiftness so sometimes you don’t even finish reading the problematic message before the person’s banned. They go by ‘TheGuidingStars.’ Apparently two people use the account.

Off Stream Heizou will sometimes reminisce on funny stream moments with you. 

Heizou tells you that he’s told chat he’s already taken, but if you’re comfortable and you want to, he’ll tell chat that you’re his partner. He’s content either way if you wish to reveal yourself or keep that between the two of you.

The mods know of course, and surprisingly TheOneAndOnikabuto hasn’t spilled the beans already. Although he apparently hates beans so that works in your favor.

One day Heizou arranged a fun outing so all the mods could meet up irl. You were apprehensive at first but knowing not only Heizou but TheOneAndOnikabuto would be there put your mind at ease.

Apparently the ‘TheOneAndOnikabuto’ goes by Itto and he’s, well, very chaotic irl. Which was expected.

Meeting ‘TheGuidingStars’ wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be. They’re twins who go by Aether & Lumine, and you hit it off pretty well with them.

Heizou likes to play RPGS, especially one’s where there’s a mystery going on with unanswered questions. After you recommended he play Persona 4 Golden, Heizou went CRAZY. He adores the cast and has fun trying to determine who the killer is.

Funny enough, when he told you his suspicions off stream he was 100% on the money but you didn’t tell him that lest he turn his backseat gaming rage on you.

It became a bit of an inside joke with the frequent chatters, but one time a particular person was being a bit TOO open about their admiration for your pretty boyfriend. After another horny comment from said person you didn’t even think twice before banning them.

Immediately you felt a bit ashamed at how fast you acted, but the feeling of relief overrode your other emotions. That is, until Heizou pointed out that the comments were no longer appearing. After he checked and saw that they were banned, he KNEW it was you but he decided to act innocent.

“I wonder which mod banned them? Shall we try and solve this case my little detectives?” Heizou had the audacity to pull up a poll for chat to vote. After the poll ended Heizou burst into laughter when your name was at the top of the list. Funny enough, Itto was second and close in votes to you.

Heizou decided to “take a hydration break” after the poll and it only took a few moments before he made his way over to you. You tried to hide from him but he was quick to remove the device you were using to watch his stream from your view.

“Is someone jealous of a horny stranger in my chat? Hmm?“ His smug words only served to irritate you, so your reply was “No. It just irritated me how they were having such lewd thoughts about you. I mean, I don’t blame them, but at the end of the day only I can have those thoughts about you.” Your confident reply only makes his grin grow wider and the distance between the two of you close.

“Well, if that’s how you feel I have no qualms with the ban. Although… why don’t you put those thoughts of yours into action?” Heizou’s breathy whisper brushes against your cheek, and you’re the one who eagerly closes the miniscule distance between your lips and his inviting ones. 

As much as Heizou physically ached to continue making out with you, he only indulged you for a few moments more like 5 minutes before he returned to stream to tell his detectives that he’ll return at a later date.

Chat was more than suspicious for the sudden end to the livestream since he seemed a little out of breath and his hair was a bit disheveled, but overall they found the whole situation funny.

As soon as the stream ended Heizou’s lips became glued to yours once again. You can’t help but feel a bit smug since you know you’re the only one who can make him feel this way.

After you feel comfortable in his community he invites you, Itto, Lumine, & Aether to play games with him on stream.

The first time you talked on stream you were so nervous that your palms were sweaty, but when you saw the positive feedback from chat about how “Attractive” and “Cute” your voice sounds your nerves vanished into thin air.

Itto made the first joint gaming session more chaotic than it needed to be, but otherwise everyone had a good time and the detectives took a liking to Heizou playing with his mods.Soon it became more of a regular thing. Sometimes Heizou even invited chat to join in on the games.

One time Heizou was openly flirting with you in game, and before you two knew it, chat was actively shipping you two. Off stream, Itto and Lumine love to tease you two about it. Aether’s more chill but he tends to catch you off guard with his blunt comments. “The sexual tension between the two of you was so intense that I felt it through the screen. Next time you two should just get off stream and go make out already.” The way your jaw dropped-

If you ever show interest in streaming on your own channel, Heizou is all for whatever you decide to do. If you DO make your own channel, he’s literally always in your stream. Always. Even if he’s currently streaming he’ll pull up your stream on something else to watch.

One time he literally watched your stream with his chat while he ate.

He’s your first and most trustworthy mod. You hardly see toxicity in your chat, and that’s hard to achieve.

Although, you have noticed how fast he’ll time out others who write thirsty comments about you. You start dying of laughter on stream when a long message from Heizou pops up in chat @‘ing an extremely down bad chatter before he bans them.

Your communities have a FIELD DAY with that clip.

Heizou’s chatters aren’t called his “little detectives” for nothing. In his discord server, the one he made for his community, you read all the evidence they have for their theory that you & Heizou are dating.

You sit down and scroll through the evidence with Heizou as you two laugh together. It’s almost scary how spot on his detective's intuition is. If you decide it’s time to tell the detectives that you two are dating, Heizou is elated. He devises the perfect way to tell them. However, if you choose not to say anything he’s content with that as well.

Heizou waits for his next livestream to tell his detectives that they cracked the case. 

When he finally breaks the news he does it in such a subtle way that even YOU almost didn’t catch it. Chat blows up with messages of “WE ALREADY KNEW” and “omg I told you so !!”

Your favorite comment is from Itto himself, who says “What!? They’re dating?” with such an incredulous tone in his voice that you would’ve believed he never knew if you didn’t know any better. You hear Heizou’s raucous laughter from the other room and your laughter soon joins him to create a wonderful harmony of love.

You hop on his stream for a moment to say hi to chat, and they start gushing at how cute you two are together. 

Thankfully, his chat is very supportive of you two.

They were already making cute ship stuff with you & Heizou, with his permission mind you, but now they make cute couple compilations of you two that you guys watch together during cozy nights.

Overall, Heizou as your streamer boyfriend? Top tier.

P.S: He ups his flirting game with you tenfold on stream. Sometimes even Itto has to tell him to tone it down or go offline to handle his “horny business.” Everyone is both equally flabbergasted and amused when Heizou actually ends the stream with a brief “See you next time, my little detectives.” 

When you look up to see him making quick strides towards you, you're more than ready to accept whatever he has to offer.

Summary:

A Descender along with Lumine and Aether, she grew up and traveled alongside the twins. When the three reached Teyvat, Ophelia felt like something was off and decided to wait for the twins while they explored this new world. After they failed to return, Ophelia went to find them herself, and she was immediately apprehended by the Heavenly Principles and remained dormant. She would wake up a bit after the Traveler and lay low until she reunites with them right after they start their journey (where she also meets Paimon). Ophelia was obviously distressed when she found out the Traveler's sibling was missing, and promised to stop at nothing until they were reunited and could finally leave together. Obviously, that wouldn't last long, as when the sibling is revealed to be part of the Abyss, her world shatters. This leaves both Descenders in shambles, and while the Traveler chose to bottle their feelings up as always, Ophelia chose to vent her complicated feelings by destroying every monster she could find for a while after the reveal, even though Dainsleif told them that the creatures of the Abyss were once human. She eventually calms down, but would act more hostile to the Abyss sibling whenever they're brought up.

Ever since she was little, Ophelia knew that her purpose was to protect the twins that took her in since she has no memories of her original colony. Since she is a "Guardian", Ophelia is not a force to be reckoned with, her only (canonical) loss being when going against the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles (note: she didn't participate in the initial battle with Ei during the 100th vision seizing ceremony, if she did, she probably would've lost :p). Ophelia believes it is her duty, her reason for existence, to make sure the Traveler makes it to see the next sunrise, and if they're hurt, she can never really shake that it was somehow her fault. When she learned about the Abyss sibling, her anger came from the betrayal of one of her closest friends being responsible for such horrendous actions and her self-hatred for not being there for them, even though that wouldn't be possible. Other than that, she tries to live her life to the fullest, creating bonds along her travels. She wouldn't trade spending every day with the Traveler and Paimon for anything, even though she was initially a little jealous when she thought the Traveler was trying to replace her with Paimon.

Even though she loves the Traveler very much, Ophelia sometimes feels like she is outshined by them, and dies a bit inside when residents of Teyvat sometimes don't know who she is. Although she has a lot of self-control, Ophelia sometimes goes a little too far in battle, especially when she's angry, to which Paimon and the Traveler a little concerned about. There was one incident where she beheaded a Lawachurl after dealing with a particularly annoying hilichurl camp, put the head on a stick, and put it on display for all the hilichurls (and unlucky explorers) to see.

In my story, the Traveler is Lumine, but I've been keeping it ambiguous up to here. Either one of the twins, Abyss or not, can be seen as Ophelia's love interest, but I personally try to pair her with the Abyss sibling because I'm a sucker for friends to enemies to lovers)

inazuma wasn’t your first region of destination in mind when listing down vacation ideas. going on vacation wasn’t even on your to-do list—it has been that way for the past three years. 

“don’t be ashamed to ask. you know i would say yes,” yelan, your distant relative who is somewhat of a mentor to you, had told you herself when you briefly mentioned your plans.

yet as you trek through the dewy grass of chinju forest, you mourn all those years when you could’ve taken in inazuma’s sights much earlier when you needed it the most.

chinju forest is completely different from liyue harbor. it’s dim; the sun mysteriously never rises, and it’s filled with flowers—the same ones that glimmer so brightly that everything about the forest looks blue, overpowering the lanterns and candles spread throughout. and although it doesn’t feel like home, you wouldn’t mind spending a few months or so in here.

liyue harbor is always bright with splashes of color: bustling with merchants and tourists, with storytellers and friends you see on occasion. friends who wanted you to see the beauty of other places, too.

kazuha had let you in on his plan to return to inazuma for a bit to visit old friends—and since the traveler had worked the traveler magic on inazuma, too, it became safe enough for kazuha to invite you along with it.

it took some convincing and some restless nights of you imagining yelan saying no, but it turns out she is more than happy to send you off to another region, oceans away. says she could use one herself. and now here you are, freely exploring, taking in new, breathtaking sights, meeting new people, fawning over their food, realizing the world is much bigger than you thought.

and also stumbling into a drunk man tipping side-to-side as he weaves through the forest.

cautiously, you sneak behind a tree, watching the inebriated stranger walk like he’s about to twirl around, catch his own feet over his ankle, and fall face-first.

he looks young. if he were next to you in liyue they’d assume he’s exactly your age, with unruly hair and a short height. in the soft, blue glow of the forest’s fluorescent flowers, this stranger looks like the type of handsome you’ve read in books. soft, striking.

“who’s there?”

your eyebrows shoot up in disbelief. for someone barely able to walk a straight line, he’s able to sense your presence the moment your breath hitched; a concealed disturbance in the air.

should you leave?

unfortunately, the thought that kazuha would want you to guide this vulnerable man back to the city torments your conscience. even if you’re oceans away, protecting people and keeping them safe is still your duty.

with a sigh, you step out from the shadows, catching the way the man takes your figure in with squinted eyes. you respond with an inquisitive expression, and he stumbles nearer.

“there…there are— are they still chasing…?” he asks, and you first notice how he has a mole under each eye.

“chasing you? are you a criminal?”

“what….” he looks around, head spinning so fast even you got a little dizzy. “criminal? where?” he garbles, looking as if he’s a second away from throwing up.

“no, i’m asking you— ugh, never mind. who’re you?” you hold him up by the arm, feeling merciful. his weight suddenly doubles as he leans over you, leaving you no choice but to pin him against the tree to keep him from falling.

“the name— i’m,” he manages to say, his words sticking together stubbornly. “shikanoin…sharpest, most successful—”

“okay, okay,” you exhale loudly, not understanding a thing, “let’s just go back.”

“who are… you?” he asks, spitting the last word out, trying to mimic your tone. it fails miserably. his eyes widen as if he sees you for the first time. “oh, wow… you’re pretty. wow. where did you come from? why are you holding me up like this? are you weird?”

baffled by the onslaught of questions, you can only blink at him incredulously. “i’m not a weirdo! i’m trying to help you. you’re drunk out of your mind. and alone!” how did he even get here?

“you look so pretty,” he murmurs instead, “like it’d be a crime not to want you.”

this is getting nowhere.

you pull away in favor of checking if the stranger has anything of use to you. all you can note is a sheathed jitte, a particularly revealing top, and an anemo vision. he wavers again with the loss of your support, resulting in you reflexively reaching out to hold onto the side of his torso. where it’s bare.

“you— you like what you see?” he slurs, and impressively strikes a million-dollar smile despite the droop of his eyes and flush on his face.

“not at all,” you lie. “let’s get back to the city.”

you are, to be frank, tired and ready to slack off for the rest of the day, finding kazuha be damned. staying too long in chinju forest messed with your sense of time; you were expecting sunrise by the time you returned to the city, yet it had only just set.

( not to mention, on the entire way back, the stranger kept talking your ear off, going on and on about how extraordinary and young he is—how pretty you are and how mystified he is. you can guess what his role is here in inazuma judging from his jitte, though you hardly care about how his superiors belittle him and how he laughs in their faces when he solves cases they rip their “receding” hair off dealing with. )

men dressed in various shades of purple saw you dragging him and rushed over to you, crowding over and filling up the small circle with more stench of alcohol. they were all varying levels of drunk, which explains a lot of what happened to the one you met. one of them apologized profusely, though you weren’t listening at all, gaze caught on the way they dragged your stranger away, verbally assaulted with berating left and right.

they were holding him by the arms, looking too much like an apprehended criminal. all that you could think back to was the way he was staring intently at you, too, as if he can’t take his eyes off.

“he’s not usually like this.” the man apologizing is still talking, you faintly realize, zoning back in—yet your eyes never strayed, even as your stranger is far enough to be out of earshot. “he got too competitive.”

“it’s fine,” you say, clipped. “did he win?”

he blinks. “did he— sorry, what?”

“did he win?”

“...yes.” the man’s brows furrow, looking confused.

you bow in respect, smiling politely when your head tilts back up. “i’ll take my leave now, thank you.”

two days later

kaedehara kazuha sits on a rock, watching the sun rise in silence that you quickly disrupt the moment you spot the mop of light hair. he turns his head curiously, having noticed you before you even spoke.

“kazuha!” you exclaim, picking up your pace. “kazuha, there you are. i couldn’t find you at all yesterday. you should’ve seen it—gorou showed me some good views of watatsumi island.”

“i apologize…” he says sheepishly, and to his credit, he does look guilty. “did you have fun? a friend caught wind of my return and whisked me away before i could warn you.”

you laugh, nudging your shoulder with his. “it’s alright. it’s what you’re here for, isn’t it?”

“how are you liking inazuma so far?” he asks, shifting to give you more space.

you try to think back to the beauty of watatsumi, gorou’s enthusiasm, and kokomi’s hospitality, but all you can think of is luminescent flowers and twin moles and your hands meeting a bare waist instead of fabric.

“i met this drunk guy in chinju forest. he was just really weird, though, no one worth worrying over,” you recount, pointedly leaving out other details. “i helped him get back in the city. reminds me of what i had to do to you and beidou.” 

“sounds eventful,” kazuha muses, hiding a smile behind a leaf he had snatched out of the air. “where did you leave him off?”

“some guys took him. his co-workers, maybe. hope he doesn’t get fired, poor guy.” you’re starting to not like kazuha’s stare, like he can see the images you’re getting in your head. swiftly, you change the topic back to him. “how about you? what were you doing yesterday?”

“well.” he clears his throat, straightening. hesitantly: “you see—and please, hear me out before you say anything—this friend of mine wants to meet you. urgently, in fact.”
