I love what the West End does with Act 1 so much. The mysterious old man you suspect is Wonka in disguise but doesn’t actually confirm it until the very ending, which might be one of my favourite scenes in musical theatre ever. Charlie’s incredibly wholesome introduction and bond with their family. The fact that they’re an aspiring inventor in this adaptation, a creative, someone who understands Wonka, giving him so much more of a reason to choose them instead of them just being the only kid not to get into a workplace accident. How over-the-top and fun the golden ticket winners’ introduction songs are and how they’re presented as news broadcasts about the kids. It’s perfect. I know some of these traits did carry over into other musical versions, but everything works together so perfectly in the WE version in my opinion.

Yes!! I love the how Wonka and Charlie connect in the musical adaptations so much!!! I really enjoy what they did with the ticket winners in all three versions of the musical (WE, Broadway, and UK) and how extreme and energetic they are to add even more of a contrast with Charlie. It’s far better in my opinion for Charlie and Wonka to have a shared interest with more than just chocolate, and have an actual meaningful bond and it’s one of my favorite parts of the story itself. As much as I liked how they showed this bond in the Broadway as well, sometimes it took away from Charlie’s bonding with his family. I usually defend the Broadway a lot, and I really love it, but I can definitely understand some of the criticisms, especially this one for me.

What i love about the hunger games is that even though most of the covey died out and hell they bombed district 12 to the ground. And yet the covey traditions are still alive. That’s truly the last word to snow no matter how hard he tried to erase the covey their songs and their culture is still alive.
