#There's so much Mipha and Sidon angst

Hurray! I drew Mipha and it actually looks like her! Whenever I played BOTW, I didn't really know much about her, but now she's one of my favorite character. I only wish there was more family fluff of her, King Dorephan, and Sidon.

Tears of the Kingdom spoilers below
Heavy is the head that wears the crown as they say.
And for Sidon, that was no different.
The day King Dorephan made it official to pass on the kingdom to him was one he’d never forget. It was a quick decision, at least to him, but one his father had clearly been brewing on for some time now. The coronation was a spectacle to behold! Zora, Hylians, Gorons - many nations from far and wide came in harmony to celebrate such an important event in the life of the Prince, now crowned King. With his fiancé at his side, his adoring father beaming down at him with pride - it was perfect in every way.
All except one.
—-
The moon shone brightly over the opalescent stone. He comes here often, seeking council from a silenced voice.
“Am I truly ready for this?” he asks out loud, taking off the crown and looking down at the pointed thing, “Father says I have proven myself worthy, yet I am still so very uncertain.”
His eyes close in thought. And when they open again, there’s sadness in them. A clawed finger strokes over one of the barbs of the crown, “It should have been you,” Sidon laments, looking up now at the statue of his sister, “It was supposed to be you inheriting this kingdom, sister, not I.”
The Zora King sighs pitifully, grief wading into the confines of his heart. He’s proud to take the throne, happy to serve his people - but he was missing his biggest supporter. The person who always uplifted him from birth, no matter what he did. He would give anything to have seen Mipha’s proud expression. Kneeling at her statue, he keeps his head down,
“I wish you were here, Mipha,” his voice wavers the tiniest bit, “…Are you proud of me, dear sister?”
The wind shifts a bit, water gently lapping at his fins. Her statue is still as he looks about the features of her stone face.
“I am as proud as ever, brother - you will make a fine king”  says a whisp, fluttering by his ears.
He snaps his head in the opposite direction, swearing he heard the gentle voice of his late sister just then. The only thing that greeted him, however, was the dead of the night, with only a few blue-green tinted flames extinguishing off in the distance.

Character analysis on Prince Sidon (BOTW vs TOTK)
One thing I love about totk is how the game addresses Sidon’s trauma.
In botw you see how desperate he is for his father’s approval, it’s like Mipha set an impossible standard for dying not only for her domain and her people but for the whole kingdom of Hyrule. In their father’s eyes, she’s the perfect child, not only in personality but also in the way she’s honoured her family. Sidon sees how his father thinks of her, and although the king doesn’t do it consciously, he always put her on an impossibly high pedestal, and Sidon grew up believing that he HAD to meet that expectation, and that he would never, no matter how hard he tried.
When Link tames Vah Ruta and they both go to see the king, he tells his son:
“As your father, I am proud of you for fighting the Divine Beast alongside Link. You have grown much recently. I know you will be a worthy heir when your time comes.”
Then Sidon bows his head, as if he’s overcome with emotions because his dad tells him he’s proud of what he’s accomplished. King Dorephan isn’t a bad guy, don’t get me wrong, but the grief of losing his daughter (in this case, he thought she went missing and had been in the DB for 100 years, he didn’t know she died) made him sort of lose sight of Sidon’s achievements in those 100 years because he was so racked with worry and guilt. So although the king isn’t a bad father, he fails to reassure his son that he doesn’t need to do anything to make him proud (even though Sidon had definitely done stuff to make his dad proud over the years).
(Btw im pretty sure tripple digits in age is considered teens or early adulthood for Zora, so he’s still pretty young, I imagine around Link’s age if he were Hylian)
But that’s about all we get in botw.
So now we move on to totk. And oh boy do we get a load of Sidon angst. Some people might disagree with me but having read between the lines of what Lady Yona talked about (and just WHAT she actually said) in the first half of the water temple quest (before we find it, when we’re up in Mipha court), it really is angsty.
She’s aware of the fact that his sister’s death affected him a lot and still does despite knowing that her spirit moved on, and it (at this point) has started to affect their relationship.
Yona and Sidon have a disagreement before/after the battle with the Sludge Like, where they argue about him going with Link to this pillar of light that has suddenly appeared. It starts with Sidon saying: “Lady Yona! It is far too dangerous for you to be here” in reference to the sludge, but she has none of that.
She tells him that she wants him to go to the pillar with Link, and that: “For a long time, I have been concerned that you are holding yourself back and not acting as freely as I would have expected.” This has some credit because it’s mentioned somewhere how they were both childhood friends, and the Zora live long lives so it’s safe to assume their childhood is prolonged, which means that they’ve known each other for a very long time. Yona knows how he acts and behaves, his mannerisms and his fears, and that’s why she wants to push him to face them.
She tells him that if he goes with Link they’ll be able to overcome this problem, but he hesitates. She notices, asking him what is troubling him, and he hesitates again to speak what’s on his mind. This is when the Sludge Like comes in, and after the battle, the conversation continues.
Sidon hurries back to Yona and says: “Thank goodness. Lady Yona, if something had happened to you... I...” and there’s where it becomes clear just how terrified he is of losing her. He doesn’t finish the sentence, though, he changes the subject and tells her that she should go back to the domain in case more monsters show up. She tells him that he should focus on what Link said and that he can leave the court to them (Yona and the others that came with her). Sidon replies with: “W-well... Of course it would be best for me to accompany him. However, I cannot leave you alone in this dangerous place!” He’s ignoring what’s best and instead focusing on the safety of his betrothed, because of course he would! A monster just showed up and it took both Link and Sidon to take it down, imagine if neither of them were with her, what would happen? What would he do if she got hurt? And then the following dialogue happens (you dont need to read the whole thing, you can just skip to the bold parts):
Yona: “Did you not entrust this task to us already? We will not be on our own for long. We shall be just fine.”
Sidon: “But…”
Yona: “Sidon, my darling... I truly appreciate that you worry so for my safety. It speaks to the kindness in your heart.
But you are the prince of the Zora. One day, you will lead the people of your beloved domain.
I can see right through you, whether you want me to or not. You are yielding to the fear of losing someone you love again.
You must overcome your past and face whatever the future holds with courage.”
Sidon: “But... I...”
Yona: “Enough is enough! You are not acting like yourself! You must leave this place to me!
Sweet Sidon... Do not get lost in the past. You must keep moving ever onward. Just follow your heart, as you always do!”
Sidon: “Like my old self... Like I always do...”
Yona: “It is all right. I swear it. I am not going anywhere.”
Sidon: “I see... And there it is, clear as day... I was giving in to my fear of once more losing someone I love... I… I…
You are right, Yona! I will not give in to this fear! Nor forsake my trust in you! I leave this place to you, my love.”
[skip]
Yona: “All this time he was clinging to regret over being unable to save his precious sister, Mipha... My poor, tormented Sidon.
And to think he was unknowingly paralyzed from taking action because he feared losing me as well...
Yet he has overcome this trial and placed his faith in me. At last, the Sidon I know and love has come back to me.”
During this conversation, Sidon hesitates more than once and you can see it starting to irritate Yona because she knows the potential he doesn’t see in himself, because it’s not just fear of losing a loved one, but it’s his own insecurity from not being able to save Mipha.
He doesn’t care that he was very young and wouldn’t have been able to anyway, he just cares that he couldn’t. In his eyes, he failed to save his sister. And I’m not going to go too deep into this point but it’s clear that she was playing both older sister and mother, because we can assume their mother died a while back (she’s never mentioned and it’s just the two of them and their father even as far back as age of calamity if you want to include that).
What I’m saying is that with technically both the loss of his mother and his sister, it’s safe to assume that he feels some sort of responsibility for not being able to help, even if he was too young to do so, his disregard for the age he was at the time shows how much weight was left on his shoulders after Mipha died.
He never expected to be the heir to the throne, the sole survivor of his family (along with his dad), sure he’s a prince and princes have responsibility, but Mipha was always going to be in the spotlight (not that I’d imagine him jealous of this, it’s simply just a fact, and I think he might have actually even been comfortable with that), she was always going to be the Zora Champion and then Queen one day, so to have all of that suddenly dumped on him after the calamity as a literal kid would’ve undoubtedly had its effect on him.
Yona understands this, she tells Link, knowing he’s probably caught on, how he was “clinging to regret over being unable to save his precious sister, Mipha...”.
She has to reassure her love that she’s okay. “It is all right. I swear it. I am not going anywhere.”, she comforts him because she knows he needs it, he needs her to say it to him because that’s the only way he will believe she is in fact okay.
But his character develops. Sidon realises that in fearing for Yona, he has made her feel as if she isn’t trusted. He recognises the position he’s put them both in, him worrying relentlessly and stressing out about his loved ones because of his trauma, and her having to watch him fall down this never ending rabbit hole and being unable to do much about it because all he tries to do is shelter and protect her, even when it’s unnecessary.
But she does what she can anyway, and it pays off, because he comes back to reality and understands that although there will always be the risk of losing her, he knows that she is more than capable of taking care of herself. He knows of her strength, it was just hard for him to see the situation from her point of view. But she pushes him to do so, and he betters himself for her.
I think he’ll always have some small hint of this trauma response hidden away, but after this discussion, he’s got a firm hold on it, and is willing to control his fears for the love of his life so that they can start to build a life together without the sense of utter doom and despair over his past looming over them both.
I’m glad the writers did this, and didn’t just make them seem like this perfect couple with no issues, it shows a real and healthy relationship, and it shows that Sidon isn’t this perfect person and that he indeed has faults of his own.
That’s my take on it, anyway.

BETTER THAN THIS
Link(totk) x reader, 1900 words
summary: you are Zelda’s personal assistant. Link is Zelda’s bodyguard. You’ve always hated each other, but what if that isn’t the complete truth?
cw: lots suggestive content, enemies to lovers fic with a wild amount of horniness and angst. Intoxication and random person is overly touchy with reader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Who would’ve thought that you and the hero Link would be together tonight, in a passionate embrace underneath the Zora Kingdom party, your breath intertwined and lips colliding frantically? Certainly not you, who hated Link with every fibre of your being due to his uptight personality and constantly anxious demeanour.
You’re Princess Zelda’s personal assistant, organising her events and facilitating the revival of the castle after Calamity Ganon’s attack. Honestly, Link got on your nerves. He never left you and Zelda alone, was always worried about safety issues and didn’t answer your questions, as if he’s some sort of better person than you. And it was no secret that he didn’t like you too, divulging to Zelda that you’re taking the modernization of the castle too far or that your schedule is too much for her. Therefore, Zelda became your strange little message carrier, conveying messages between the two of you and trying to keep the peace. Sometimes she would try and complement him to you, saying statements such as “he was so kind the other day” or “He definitely worried about you when you left last night.”
She tries desperately to repair this illogical feud between you, but to no avail. That is until today, when the three of you are sitting in a wagon together on the way to the Zora domain. Sidon’s inauguration is tonight, and the princess is expected to attend for her blessing. This involves a party, grand feast and hours of boring speeches, but it’s for the best to have a prospering society in Hyrule.
“I’ve always loved this area so much. Don’t you?” Zelda asks, bewilderment in her eyes as she looks around the area. It is beautiful here, and Link seems to agree due to the twinkling look in his eyes. “Definitely. We’re planned to stay here for three days, but I may elongate the stay so we can do some sightseeing. I hear that they have built a Mipha memorial nearby.” Link stiffens at your words, having some sort of impact on him that you don’t quite understand. “I’m not looking at a statue of my dead friend.” He mutters, loud enough for you to hear but not Zelda, who is sitting opposite the two of you. You wonder whether you should speak up, telling him that Sidon put hard work into it but ultimately don’t stir the pot. Afterall, you don’t want to ruin the ride with your bickering once more.
The wagon enters the gates of Zora’s Domain, illustrating a wide runway with blues and aquas, like an underwater sanctuary out of a fairytale. Zora children and adults crowd the sides, waving enthusiastically at you as they cheer. Zelda smile’s back at them in that same way she looked at the views from earlier: grateful and ecstatic.
When a child runs over to the wagon and follows it through tripping steps and teary eyes, she holds up a ragged teddy bear to Link. “Link! Link! I love you!” He timidly takes it, an embarrassed blush quickly turning his face into a resemblance of a tomato. You laugh, finding his nerves shocking as he is the hero of Hyrule after all. “He said thank you!” You call out to the child as she stops following the wagon, noticing the despondent look on her face that he never responded. “Thanks…” He grumbles, avoiding your eye contact as he places the bear in his bag. “No problem. But maybe we need to get you into some of Zelda’s etiquette classes if you’re going to act like that every time a fan interacts with you.” Link just merely rolls his eyes.
You arrive, and as Zelda and Link already reunite with their old friends you set off to work. Those two may be able to have fun, but you don’t, rushing around to ensure everything is perfect for the princess. She certainly isn’t posh or judgmental, but Zelda does have certain things that she likes to have in her living situations. It is your responsibility to ensure that her journal is in her room, bags are unpacked and clothes are prepped for the next day, as well as checking that all the appropriate safety precautions are made.
After a while you collapse on a chair, watching Sidon’s attendees scatter around to prepare for the crowning. It’s tough work, and even tougher when you watch Link joke around with Sidon instead of helping. Isn’t he supposed to be Zelda’s bodyguard? So why is it your responsibility to update the guards on your arrival and suspected leave date and not his? Lost in your frustration about this and the other many things he does (like why is his hair always so silky??) you suddenly have someone sit down next to you, their toned bicep leaning on the back of the chair and an exhausted huff leaving their mouth.
“Zelda told me to take a rest while she goes for a walk with Yona. Mind if I join you?” Asks Link, his eyebrows furrowed as if he just did something preposterous. You turn to him bluntly, eyes scanning his body. Who does he think he is, just suddenly acting like he’s your friend? But you don’t want him to get any satisfaction out of your shock, so you merely reply “Yeah that’s alright” before turning back away from him.
As much as you would love to uphold a confident, unbothered quality in this moment, the air is soon filled with and uneasy silence you yearn to break. But why? You never want to speak to Link, and certainly not with trivial small talk.
“This looks nice. The coronation is going to be beautiful.” He states. “Yeah, definitely. But they’re also so… long.” He laughs at your annoyance; in a beautiful rumble you don’t think you’ve ever heard before. You continue to talk, trying to conceal that pit in your stomach. “But Zelda loves them, and I know Dorephan is thrilled to pass on the throne to his son.” Link nods thoughtfully, pondering your words. “That’s true. I know this was a big day for Zelda, regardless of if she ever actually had a coronation or wanted one. It’s a nerve-wracking yet important step for any royalty, and culturally unique in every way.” Once he finishes your mind is fried, having never heard him speak remotely more than a sentence in the past. But he knows much more than you do, and his insight is intriguing to say the least.
The conversation is left there, after a cook runs up to you asking about the princesses’ dietary requirements. Before you know it, it’s well into the night and you feel like you haven’t breathed once. During the speeches you were ensuring Zelda was prepared for hers, during the crowning you were helping the chefs prepare the food and during the idle chatter you were having meetings with members of the community to see what the royal family could do to help them.
You find Zelda on the middle of the dance floor with the new king of the Zora, doing some sort of traditional jig and giggling like a schoolgirl. You told her not to have any wine tonight, but it seems she didn’t listen. “My dear, will you not dance with us?” asks an intoxicated and overtly touchy older Rito man. “Oh, thank you but I don’t know the dance.” “Well that’s fine, I don’t know it either! You just copy the person next to you! Here, follow me!” Without further warning he grabs your arm and pulls you onto the floor, twirling you despite how you almost fall over. The dance is complicated and fast, but with this random man’s lead you manage just fine. That is until it’s time to switch partners, and your viciously thrown into Links arms.
“Link?!” The two of you look at each other with the shock of seeing someone come back from the dead, even though you knew you were both at the party. “You didn’t strike me as a dancer” He says, and you scoff. “Neither did you. What are you doing?” “I don’t know, guess the wine got to me.” He answers honestly. Your hands intertwine and you clumsily follow the movements, as he does the same in a somehow even worse way. He twirls you, and you swear you see his eyes drift down to your ass, but they jump back up to your eyes with an intense glare. Just to spite him, you pull him in close, seeing his confident stare falter. “Having a nice night?” You smirk, hand clasping his shoulder. He’s warm but muscled. It feels good on your dainty hand. “Could be better. Want to get out of here?”
Did he just, say what you think he did? You stop dancing, despite being jostled by the people next to you. Wordlessly you nod, unable to get the words out as you fear that perhaps you’re dreaming this. But why would you? You don’t care what he thinks, or about spending time with him. Still holding your hand, he leads you down the stairs to the pools, leaning on the railing which overlooks the water and you join him, reluctantly dropping his hand.
“So, what’s your deal?” He asks, not even bothering to turn and look at you. “What do you mean?” “I mean why are you here? Being a personal assistant, following Zelda and I around. You seem… Better equipped for something more fulfilling.” You blush, surprised at his complement. “I don’t know. I guess it was just what was expected for me. Apparently my ancestors worked at the castle, and so when Zelda was hiring my parents were thrilled. They thought I was perfect for it, as it’s in my blood and all. But I… Wanted to adventure. Go to the wildest plains of Hyrule, climb the tallest mountains and meet the furthest civilisations. But I can still do that with you two!” A silence lingers between the two of you, an uncomfortable one that makes the hair on your neck stand up. Finally, he turns to you and straightens up. The creases on his forehead display true concern, one you haven’t had directed towards you since you were a kid scraping your knee after a tumble.
“No. You go and do that, Zelda and I don’t need you. This is your life, not your parents, not anybody else’s. Yours.” He seems truly angry when his says this, and it makes your heart flutter. When he says his next words he closes the gap between you, lips almost touching yours but showing the tiniest restraint to not. “You’re better than just some personal assistant. Trust me, I know it.”
That’s when you can’t take anymore, and you kiss him. If you were in any sort of right mind, you’d think you were insane for doing this, your fervour causing him to stumble back and grab your waist for support. But he kisses you back, tongue sliding hungrily into your mouth and grazing your white teeth. You moan, and he digs his nails into your ass.
You needed this, and so did he. Whether you knew it or not.

Sidon X Reader [Angst]
Finding Out About Yona
[Part One]
You hadn't seen Sidon in months due to the upheaval in Hyrule, and due to Sidon becoming extremely busy at Zora's Domain after Calamity Ganon. However, word got around that a strange sludge had appeared there causing havoc. You were quick to make it to Zora's Domain on foot, by the time you got there you were covered in sludge and drained. You couldn't help but be overwhelmed by how different Zora's Domain looked.
Your P.O.V.
I had approached the new statue seeing it wasn't Mipha anymore, but instead Link and Sidon.
"Where did Mipha's statue go...?" I muttered to myself, getting distracted while trying to find Sidon. There was a sound of footsteps behind me, however I was too lost in thought to hear them. I then jumped a bit in surprise hearing an abrupt feminine voice behind me.
"Ah, a hylian! We weren't expecting any visitors during a dire time like this. What brings a hylian like you here? Are you alright? It must have been quite the journey to get here!" I turned around seeing a green female Zora. I raised my eyebrows a bit surprised, noting how I never saw her before, I then smile a bit in response.
"Ah. You scared me." I laughed nervously rubbing the back of my head. "I was here hoping to find Sidon to make sure that he was okay, and I'm fine! Just a little dirty from the sludge." I said looking up to the worried green Zora. Her concerned expression turns into a relieved expression before her eyes widen a bit pointing towards me.
"Are you... (Y/n) by chance?" She asked with a curious look, I stood a bit shocked at her recognizing my name before I nodded. She smiled even wider. "Sidon has told me so much about you! He has been worried about you and Link since the upheaval, that's pretty much all he talks about is you two!" She said with a small grin. I couldn't help but feel my face go warm hearing this. She then shook her head a bit before continuing. "Sorry! I got a bit ahead of myself there, I almost forgot to introduce myself! My name is Yona, I'm Sidon's fiancé!" She said in a chipper tone. I immediately froze, like a pit in my stomach just dropped.
"...Fiancé?" I asked a bit hesitantly in disbelief. She then nodded. I only stood there in silence. My brain couldn't process what she had just said, my brain suddenly felt dazed, I could hear her talking, asking me something; however it fell deaf to my ears. I then turned back to her when I felt her shaking my shoulder lightly.
"(Y/n)? Are you okay? Do you need to go to the infirmary?" She asked concerned with her eyes filled with worry, I quickly shook my head.
"I'm fine. I think the sludge made me a little dizzy, I'm going to go get some air." I said brushing her hand off me lightly, before walking away. I could hear her call out my name once again completely worried. I had simply ignored her, and kept walking. My mind has completely wandered. I found myself near the top of Mount Plymous. I then stumbled a bit seeing Sidon's back, my breath was sharp as I stood feeling tears in my eyes. He seemed to have been doing something, as he was standing in the water with light emitting from hit palms near the water. I watched him in silence for a few moments, feeling overwhelmed with so many different emotions.
"(Y/n)! I'm surprised to see you all the way up here! Are you here to see Prince Sidon?" I heard a Zora guard call out to me, I immediately panicked hearing this, taking multiple steps back.
"No! Just wanted to see what was new up here, anyways I have to go now. Bye!" I said quickly turning away trying my best to hold it together, starting to walk away at a quick pace. The Zora guard looked a bit confused before waving. I didn't get very far as I soon heard a deep and rich voice.
"(Y/n)? Is that you?" Sidon called to me, I slowly turned my head to his voice but turned back, my pace increasing more. It wasn't long before I felt a strong hand on my shoulder. "(Y/n)!" Sidon called out again, immediately turning me to face him, his face was concerned, as mine was filled with anger and tears.
"Yona, huh?" I immediately asked in a vile tone, clearly emotionally charged.
"(Y/n) I-" he started, but I cut him off before he could finish as I immediately pulled away from his grip.
"I left for a couple of months, and you're now getting married to a random zora?! Why didn't I know about this, did our relationship mean nothing to you?!" I cried out as tears continued to drip from my eyes as my face was red from anger. Sidon was immediately taken aback by my hostile tone.
"I... It's not what you think it is!" It was an arranged marriage, and she was my childhood friend!" He said with a small look of guilt, as his face was saddened.
"A childhood friend?! You threw away our relationship for a childhood friend?!" I yelled out angry before continuing. "I worked so hard throughout our entire relationship to keep it private and then you turn around and do this!" I screamed at him. His eyes went from widened then to a soft glare.
"I'm a Prince! I take my role very seriously! I have to do what's best for my kingdom!" He said defending himself lightly. I felt angrier at him if it was at all more possible.
"Our relationship suddenly means nothing now?! Is your kingdom more important than us?" I asked with stepping away completely enraged. Sidon looked taken aback once again, before he realized that he had said the wrong thing.
"Of course it matters! I just... Let's not talk about this right now, darling. I have more important matters right now." He said trying to reach towards me, I pulled away once again.
"You don't have the right to call me that anymore! It's over!" I was quick to immediately start walking away once again, ignoring his calls to me. Everything hurt.
(Part 2 Coming Soon!)
(The writing isn't the best however this is my first post. I needed some angst after finding out about Yona LOL)

I love Tears of the Kingdom so much you guys. I cannot wait too watch all the art and stories pour in!
Also, cause I just wanna add my two cents, I’m loving what we got on the Zora in this game.
Sidon, my best boy, betrothed to a new princess who is so damn cute! But also the drama that can be found in the stone tablets that reveal Sidon’s true feelings; that he’s always seen Yona as a sister and that this marriage was arranged.
Like, the angst potential here! And if we go best case scenario, the lavender marriage idea, the added drama at the idea that Yona was perhaps in love with Mipha and once believed they might one day be betrothed to strengthen their kingdoms bonds.
But then she died, and Yona later learned the princess had been in love with another.
This would add a whole new layer to her wanting to take care of and repair the Zora armor for Link!
Also the pressure to keep up appearances with the domain and how long it might take before Yona or Sidon confess that they can’t pretend/lie to the other. The two genuinely loving each other platonically and wanting to support the other and keep their people safe.
I hope this angle gets explored in fanworks! I’m so ready for the zelink/Sidon & Yona polycule!

MINOR TOTK SPOILERS FOR THE BEGINNING + ZORA MSQ
in a rare turn of events i actually drew fanart for something- anyway this is my reimagining of Sidon and Link's reunion in the game (I see them as queerplatonic partners but romantic/platonic is good too! i just like them). My thought process is that Link is not only so done with world ending shit happening again and again, but BOTW told us he keeps silent to not be a burden to others/be strong for them. And now, with the world needing him all over again, trying to find Zelda to no avail, losing his arm, his sword, he finally breaks. Being the hero is too much.
And then this works well with Sidon's lil character arc of being afraid of losing people close to him again like with Mipha and even though the game didn't really say it, Im POSITIVE that Sidon finding out Link was missing/possibly dead made it worse. (side note, no Yona hate here!! she's cool!! I think she, link, and sidon would make a cute polycule and i have no issue with her she's sweet as hell BUT ANYWAY enjoy the comfort angst)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
im still in the middle of the zora quest and have like 3 dragon tears so no spoilers beyond those please!! i know nothing and its gonna stay that way!! LSKDJFKJKJDF
also if you follow me for more sidlink content im so sorry but i rarely draw fanart for anything HOWEVER the main thing I do draw is my two aroace queerplatonic husbands being soft and goofy and they got a comic and everything so I mean. if you like this cuddly mlm shit you still might like my other stuff LMAO

Mipha/Revali X Reader; Making Them Laugh HC’s
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anon Request; “Heya! Firstly I would like to request that you remember to drink water and take care of yourself 😌. Secondly, could I request a reader making Mipha and Revali laugh? Like with some joke or just straight up tickling them? It's up to you, but I would really like to see these two happy with all the angst I've been seeing lol. Thanks so much!!”
~xXx~
Mipha:
* Her general laugh is soft and sweet, like the sound of a gentle stream on a beautiful spring day
* But if you can get her to really laugh it’s snorts galore
* She’s very embarrassed by it unless the person who made her laugh that hard is someone she’s close to
* As the Zora princess she has to maintain a certain air of pristine to her, which she doesn’t mind for the most part but it can also get very tiring
* Having an s/o who can help her relax her shoulders with a silly joke or some other hilarious non-sense is like a breath of fresh air
* Definitely remembers any jokes you tell her to say back to young Sidon
* It’s so goofy and she knows it but knock knock jokes are her cup of tea for comedy
* Don’t let her find out you taught her father dad jokes, it will be game over for everyone
Rivali:
* Getting this champion to laugh with you and not at you can be very difficult
* His laughs are most commonly snide or cocky chuckles followed by some statement about how whatever made him have that reaction is why he’s more superior
* Cheese jokes usually result in an eye roll and how Hylian humor is so un-sophiscated
* You’ll be at a loss like most others in figuring out how to get him to genuinely laugh, until you remember you have an advantage others don’t
* Being Revali’s s/o allows for open boundaries others aren’t allowed to explore, but for you, you’re lucky enough to cuddle with the egotistical Rito
* Which leads to finding out just how tickelish he actually is
* His laugh is airy and with a slight chortle to it, and Revali can not believe you made him laugh that way
* Doesn’t get a second to stop you though and his cheek feathers poof from your onslaught of tickles to his sides
* Better hope he doesn’t escape, because then it will be his turn to give what you gave and due to him literally being covered in feathers to the tips of his “fingers”, it will be ten times worse for you dove <3

Okay, I mean this in no disrespect about Miphlink, Miphlink shippers *mwah* love you guys, but me for me personally I like Miphlink but only with it in the context of it being one sidded AND Mipha being 100% completely aware of it's unrequitedness.
Why? Because I. Love. Angst. I thrive off it.
Like Mipha is a sweet, compassionate girl with a heart of pure gold - but she isn't stupid. She isn't oblivious to the blink and you'll miss it searching glances that goes on between Link and Princess Zelda, the devotion he has for her that goes well beyond than just a knight doing his job. She isn't ignorant to glimmering shine that lights up in the princess' eyes every time she looks at her chosen knight either, the genuine expression that melts across her face that is all devoid of the facade she presents wherever on official royal duties. Love. Clear and obvious love that is impossible to ignore even if it stabs and knaws at the Zora princess' heart each and every time she sees it.
How she wished deeply in her heart of hearts, how she wished and pray to the goddess that maybe one day... Link would look at her the same way. But then she quickly realizes how silly and selfish that sounds every time and that breaks her heart even more. It'd be so cruel to wish something like that because then it'd be hurting both Link and Zelda and she absolutely doesn't want that - both of them are very dear friends to her and she doesn't want to warm that because of some... silly feelings. Silly, deep, feelings.
For quite some time she sits up on Vah Ruta's spout and truly recollects on the matter. Each day she thinks, traces her slight taloned fingertips over the blade of her trident and staring back at her reflection on its blade. She really did love the hero, she knows her feelings are true and much before the realization that his heart actually belonged to someone else she... started making him the armor. Since then she's hiddened it, far from any eyes to see and is positively sure the only ones to know about its existence is her father and little Sidon - who'd actually helped a bit himself in the stitching of the scales which even now still brings a small smile to her lips. There's no reason to finish it now, surely, but on the other hand something ate at her to accompanied by a voice saying maybe it'll be important one day to fulfill at least some kind of purpose, even if it wasn't for its original intention.
Mipha pauses on the thought, her eyes scanning over through the mountains and towards the direction of the castle in the kingdom's heart. She heard rather recently from Urbosa that Link has been sneaking Princess Zelda out of the castle at night to continue her sheikah research, going the King's direct orders.
A knight disobeying the word of his king. He did that for her.
The Zora sighs. That sounds very like him, she admired that about him and even so she's glad to hear the princess had still continue her research, it was no hidden secret that one of her main interests so if she continue to pursue it than that makes her happy. And the princess happy obviously made Link happy, which in turn makes Mipha happy at the end of the day.
Her mind crawls back to the armor.
...maybe... she could finish it. Not as some token of engagement as Zora tradition willed it, though she is aware exactly how it will look to most Zora when she gives it to the hero, how they'll interpret it and try to spin it off as a romantic thing but... the creation of armor like this without a doubt is a very special an and intimate one, very personal. So it'd have to mean just as much if she were to give it as a... blessing, right? Her personal blessing for Link and Zelda's relationship. Her token of acceptance, even if it stung.
She very quickly went to work.
Every single night, even after long days of training and attending to her royal duties she takes some time to work on the armor. She pays attention to fine detail - making sure every row of scales that aline the sturdy fabric are in the correct shape and positioning that would make the set suitable to be worn even years and decades from now. Regal - she makes it, with every pattern melted in the pauldrons and the pretty eye catching glimmer of sapphires that danced in between the threads of the fabric. Perfect, she wants it to be perfect. To symbolic represent how much Link means to her and how happy she is with his happiness and love to the princess. She loves seeing him happy and wishes for everything in the world just to keep him happy.
Even if she has to watch him grow old, together hand in hand with the woman he actually loves and eventually... die. And Mipha will still be young, and live life long without him, that's the sad truth between human and zora lifespans. So this all is for the best.
Weeks and months leading through the armors creation process, even in the final hours until its completely finished and ready to present.
She still can't stop the uncontrollable tears streaming down her face.

It's a Lonely Road to Happiness
It's a Lonely Road to Happiness
by Pockykierra
Link is avoiding the Domain.
That is Yona’s theory, at least - because she can’t necessarily prove he is avoiding the Domain. After all, he is the Hero of Hyrule. The Champion of Champions. And those titles certainly don’t come with much free time, especially after the Upheaval and the disappearance of Princess Zelda. So, the most logical conclusion is assuming the small Hylian just doesn’t have time for galavanting.
Only speculation, the whispers of others, and the ponderings of Sidon himself have led her to believe he might be evading visiting.

Tides That Bind: Boiling Point
Juicy juicy angst and feels. Link starting the Sage Awakening in TotK, plenty under the cut.
This visit would not be very pleasant. All the clues as Link trudged his way back to such a familiar place had been quite the eye opening experience. He could only hope that Sidon and Selatoh were holding up… and that Selatoh hadn't bitten Yona yet.
At the very least he would be delivering good news, mostly. Hopefully he wasn't too late for that. Running, almost sprinting into the Domain as he glanced around for any sign of Selatoh. Thankfully she was standing right there next to the twin statues of their previous accomplishments with no sign of Yona… yet.
As Link neared the center of the courtyard, Yona walked out as if she was about to confront Selatoh. It was a little tense since Link just barely managed to speak up first.
“Link, what have you managed to find?”
Selatoh blatantly ignored the other woman, attempting to cut her out of the conversation as much as possible. Not that it was very effective as Yona forced herself into the conversation as best she could.
“Uh, I think I should tell Sidon as well. Is he still up at Mipha’s Court?” Link pointed slowly over his shoulder, “If… if you don’t mind Lady Yona, I think it would be best for Selatoh and I to take one path alone. There’s something I need to discuss with her in private.”
“Oh, of course Sir Link.” Yona eased her stance as best she could, “I shall meet you at Mipha’s Court then.”
It did not take long for Selatoh to start ranting as soon as she and Link were outside the Domain. Leaving the Hylian Knight to feel more of a therapist than a warrior.
“-and with Sidon purifying the water supply, she acts like its MY fault he’s working so hard!” Selatoh waved her arms, “If I could take over the job I would! I’ve been trying but Sidon is just better at water magic than I am!”
“Has she even asked Sidon how he feels about the situation?”
“As far as I’m aware, no. She only ever does things to get into Sidon’s good books. She didn’t start in the infirmary until Sidon asked her.” Selatoh growled, “Father asked before he left, I asked when Sidon took up the water purification, but no. Yona just haaad to wait for Sidon to ask her directly.”
The way Selatoh’s jaw snapped as she huffed was very telling. Knowing her, Link was certain her asking was almost overly sweet as a form of compensation for her otherwise sour attitude. Though it probably didn’t come off as the nicest way to ask, despite Selatoh’s best efforts while under so much stress. It was a wonder there were spears left in the Domain, let alone Yona not being covered in vicious bite marks…
“And even now she only thinks to do things to make Sidon happy as if she can win his favor.”
“You mean like my Zora Armor?” Lin smirked a little.
Snorting a little to hide the slight blush at being called out, Selatoh seemed to calm down only because they were getting close to Mipha’s Court. But it was very obvious to Link that she was almost at her breaking point.
Turning the corner, Link was a little shocked to see that Yona wasn’t there just yet. He was certain that she would have taken the shorter route. Though there was the possibility that he and Selatoh had simply moved faster somehow; given how Selatoh had been speed marching the whole way to Mipha’s Court.
“Oh, Sidon!” Link’s head swiveled to Yona as she climbed up from the nearest waterfall, “Please, we need a moment to talk to you!”
Selatoh’s lips tightened in a slight frown, not slowing her approach to her brother. Trotting almost double time, Link attempted to keep pace; anything to keep Selatoh from snapping.
“Lady Yona! Selatoh!” Sidon looked across the open space to both, “You two should be back at the Domain! I can handle things here!”
“I’m certain you can, my dear Sidon.” Yona cut Selatoh off, “But there is something troubling you, it is quite obvious.”
“I assure you Lady Yona, I am fine.” Sidon turned back to his purifying, “I have duties to attend to.”
“Why must you act like her?” Yona stomped her foot, splashing water everywhere as she gestured to Selatoh, “Are you truly so wrapped up in the past that you cannot even see how poor your choices are?”
The silence was palpable with tension as time seemingly slowed to a crawl.
“WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT ANY OF IT!?” Selatoh roared, “You’ve only just arrived in our Domain. Where were you when our sister took up arms against the Calamity?”
Sidon swiveled instantly, an arm thrust out between Yona and Selatoh preemptively as a protective measure. Despite Selatoh staying as still as she could as she yelled.
“Where were you when our FATHER went missing? What were you doing?” Selatoh swung an arm, only just skimming the top of Link’s hair, “How can you stand there and claim to care when you haven’t even asked for the full story? How could you POSSIBLY KNOW WHAT EITHER OF US ARE GOING THROUGH RIGHT NOW!!”
Turning on her heel, knowing how her little tantrum must’ve looked to the other Zora present; Selatoh grit her teeth, smudging tears away roughly.
“How da-”
“She does have a point Lady Yona.” Siodn’s voice was dangerously low for a brief moment before he softened, “Please, don’t press the matter. Both Selatoh and I were absolutely gutted when Mipha met her fate 100 years ago.”
Watching Sidon almost follow Selatoh, “We were hardly old enough to understand what was really going on. And now history seems to be repeating itself in a far more disastrous way. Please Lady Yona, try to understand that my actions, while they do mirror my sister’s… both of them now that I think of it, are mine. I made my decisions.”
“Sidon, you shouldn’t-”
“I will do what I can to save my Domain.” Sidon turned, the harsh look across his face matching Selatoh to a T, “Though I do realize I should step back slightly to ease your and Selatoh’s minds, I also stand by my actions thus far. I cannot stand back and allow Father or Selatoh take my place, to allow their attempts to fix things to be in vain.”
Rubbing her arm guiltily, Yona looked just past Sidon to where Selatoh stood. Only to see the other red shark readying her spear, a massive glob raining from the sky. Whatever was going within the Domain, it had come right to their front door.

One liner prompts: 5 for botw? 💙
//Breathe of the wild yay // 5: "It's not your fault. Sometimes you can do everything right, and things will still go wrong... This just happened to be one of those times." //TW: Graphic description of injury, angst, and grief, character death, suicide.
Sidon doesn't know how long Link's been unconscious for anymore. He stopped counting after the first Blood Moon and there had been several since then, but he hadn't been counting. If he spent too much time counting the days he might miss when Link's eyes finally fluttered open again. If he counted the hours he might miss his chance to apologize for being so foolish. He might miss his chance to plead for forgiveness. The Zora were the best healers in Hyrule, and yet despite how long it had been, those cerulean eyes hadn't opened again, and his breathing hadn't deepened beyond that of a restless sleep. Sidon was beginning to fear they never would. He should have known better. Hylian's may have been more resistant to shock arrows than Zora, but they were still frail and broke easily. Even their Hero. Vah Ruta was a Divine Beast meant to contain and be piloted by a Zora, the Blight inside of it that had taken Mipha from them had to have been powerful. His beloved sister had been gentle, not weak. If it had bested her, what hope had Link really had? Especially without his memories. Sidon shouldn't have pushed him. He should have given him more time to learn who he had been.
Instead Sidon had pressured him into saving them and possibly caused the death of his dearest friend. He sighed quietly, this line of thought wasn't doing him any good. Link was strong, he would recover, he always did. Sidon just needed to wait a little longer, and when he did wake up, because he would, Sidon wouldn't let anything go unsaid. Never again. The door to the infirmary opened, and Sidon didn't need to look up to know it was Bazz who had joined him. He came in every night, to check on Link and to beg Sidon to get some rest. It was how Sidon marked the time. Bazz had visited them well over three hundred times, and Sidon's answer never changed. He would leave Link's side only once he was well again. "Sidon." There was a weight to Bazz's voice that hadn't been present in any of his other visits, and it compelled him to look up, "It is time for you to get some rest. There is nothing more we can do for him, in the morning we will be laying him to rest. Sleep so that you will be ready to say goodbye when it is time."
The weight to Bazz's voice was grief, he knew because it crashed over him like a wave of cold water. Link was dead, for real this time, and it had been Sidon's arrogance that killed him. This should have been the obvious outcome. Link's body had been so battered and broken when he'd been released from Vah Ruta. It had been the smell of his blood in the water that had alerted Sidon to something being wrong. When he'd gotten him to the dock he knew something was wrong. Some of his his limbs had been bent wrong, and his head rested at an angle that didn't seem natural for a Hylian. He hadn't been breathing; and at the time Sidon had assumed it was because he was unconscious. He knew better now.
"It's not your fault." Bazz's voice cut across an awful, ragged gasping sound, that Sidon realized was his sobbing before he collected himself. Crying in the presence of a guard was rather undignified. Bazz paid it no mind as he continued, "Sometimes you can do everything right, and things will still go wrong... This just happened to be one of those times." Bazz was being do dismissive of this, and for a moment Sidon was enraged. Until he realized Bazz was barely holding it together as it was, this was hurting him too, but he was keeping his pride in tact unlike Sidon. "I would rather stay here, if you don't mind." His voice was dull and hollow, "Please." Bazz looked like he wanted to argue for a moment, beg even, but he must have seen something in his eyes that made him decide otherwise, "As you wish." He said instead and retreated from the room.
Sidon looked down at Link again and let himself break. "I'm sorry." He sobbed, "I'm sorry i did this to you. I'm sorry I pressured you into saving us. I'm sorry.... I love you, please don't leave.... please Link." There was no response, and there never would be. Prince Sidon of the Zora had caused the death of the Hero of Hyrule. In the empty infirmary under a blood red moon, he turned his sword on himself. A world without Link wasn't one he wanted to be a part of.

dont mind me tripping and falling in here again. but i would also love to hear about botw au. legend of zelda au's my absolute beloved they have me running circles around my room. adrenaline shot straight to the heart nothing digs its claws in me quite like loz and i am so so interested to hear about it!! clingyduo doomed to save the world in every universe,,,, i'm invested already
thank you so much for humoring me, i love botw aus so much theyre aaaa!! aaAAAAAaaAaaAAa!!!!
so yeah this originally started bc an old friend of mine and i were talking and i forget who suggested it but we were like "hey wouldn't tommyinnit as link be so funny? because tommyinnit is like the exact opposite kind of feral-energy of botw link. loud and swears and uncontrollable and headstrong. hylia's most annoying hero." and things just devolved from there. it's fully a Crack Treated Seriously situation because i spent actual months working out lore n worldbuilding and whatnot fhdjskhfdk.
the fic is officially called Well, Excuuuuuuuse Me, Big Man: The BotW AU No One Asked For (or WEMBM for short)
basic layout (as far as i went with it anyway):
tommy more-or-less follows the order of what you're "supposed" to do to to beat the game: plateau->kakariko->hateno->kakariko again->four main regions->master sword->ganon. of course there are a lot of detours and back-tracking and skipping around for hyjinx
main regions/inhabitants are replaced: Zora->Axols (axolotl "hybrids"), Gorons->Piglins, Rito->Elytrians, Gerudo->Enderians
each of the above races have their own cultures that are loosely based off of the game's original counterparts and some mcrp fanon + personal headcanons thrown in. they're customized to incorporate some (mild) minecraft elements!!
old champions: Mipha->Niki, Daruk->Technoblade, Rivali->Philza, Urbosa->Ran (based loosely off of tftsmp Ran, effectively an oc lmao????)
new champions: Sidon->Foolish (Niki's younger brother) and Jack (Niki's best friend), Yunobo->Drista, Teba->Wilbur, Riju->Ranboo
all of their personalities more-or-less remain intact (which is why the fact that i put The Old Man / King Rhoam as Schlatt so fucking funny)
divine beasts keep their names but the creatures change!! Ruta is a glow squid, Rudania is a blaze, Medoh is still a bird (LMAO i might change this because...), Naboris is a phantom
some scattered details
wilbur is both the "new" champion role AND kass' role!! he and tommy meet early on in his journey (at his first visit to Hateno) but tommy doesn't learn about wilbur's heritage (Philza was his great great great grandfather) until MUCH later. they run into each other a lot during their travels.
wilbur also has a hardcore crush on an axol warrior named sally, which tommy teases and embarrasses him relentlessly for
tubbo (zelda-role) keeps zelda's arc of not being able to develop powers. the key difference is that tommy and tubbo are friends before the calamity business starts to get serious, and tubbo's frustration drives a wedge between them
(angst time: clingy duo has a Big Fight during that one sheikah slate Memory on the palace tower bridge, and they never get the chance to apologize to each other before it all goes to shit and tommy dies sacrificing himself to save tubbo.)
techno and phil are old friends from when they'd do colosseum fights together. they haven't talked much for a few years before becoming champions, both too busy with their respective duties at home, but the moment they realize they've both been recruited well, they're inseparable
windbombing, bullet-time bouncing, and shield clipping are canon. don't question it.
champion ran is a dick (think revali) and the only one there they respect is niki because they underestimated her and then she proceeded to floor them during a sparring session (and she didn't even threaten them with a water based attack, it was all skill)
awesamdude (most people call him "sam", he's ranboo's personal guard) has a half brother named awesamnook (most people call him "nook" or "samnook"). he's the Beedle-role and he talks in all caps like an npc ("HELLO TRAVELER." "Why are you shouting---" "HAVE A LOOK AT MY WARES." "Okay---")
bad runs the yiga-equivalent egg cult that, instead of disguising themselves as travelers, simply uses sprouts of blood-red flowers with a toxic pollen to mind-control bystanders into attacking tommy (yikes)
have some highlights from the few chapters i've written of tommy on the great plateau (yes, the entire google doc is written in comic sans)
tommy immediately sassing tubbo's disembodied voice:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
tommy is 7 feet from the cave and is shoving things in his mouth:
Tumblr media
(I should also mention he has a pet beetle in his pocket named Sir Legs)
tommy has a grudge against the sheikah pedestals, it's a whole arc on the plateau as he slowly comes to love and appreciate the pedestals and what they do for him:
Tumblr media
old man J vs tommy's unwavering optimism(bullheadedness):

tommy vs disembodied voices:

Was bored and listening to music when I suddenly had this thought when listening to a cover of Red Like Roses Part 2, and that was when you really think about it, it fits Sidon and Mipha. Sidon lost his big sister during the Calamity, the same sister that if Age of Calamity was any indication of with her fighting a Lynel to protect him and winning, was probably one of the strongest people he ever knew. Then she died, Hyrule pretty much collapsed, and not only was he thrust into the role of heir apparent, but he also had to live up to Mipha's memory, in his own way of course, and be Zora Domain's protector. A fate Mipha probably hated to thrust upon his shoulders via her death.
Basically here free Sidon angst you can use for your BotW fic because I'm an angst gremlin lol.
(Happy accepts the free Sidon angst)
You be so right though. Holy frick. ESPECIALLY SINCE THE POV CHANGES IN THE SONG FROM THE DECEASED TO THE ONE THAT WAS LEFT BEHIND AND THEN BACK AGAIN LIKE-
Tumblr media
Also this ask came at a hilarious time because I’m currently playing BotW, and I just freed the last fairy and watched her snatched, yeet, and drown Link to enhance his clothing. My brain is like O.o what did I just see.

Hello. This is my first request for the Legend of Zelda, so I do not know how to write it correctly. I don't speak English and I'm writing this in a translator, so there may be mistakes here, sorry. In general, I want to see how the reader will react to the fact that Revali, Link and Sidon cheated on her. (something made me feel sad) Thank you in advance ╹▽╹
I'm so sorry something happened to upset you. If it's along the lines of this request give me a name😤👊 anyways thank you so much for requesting!! This ended up being so much longer than I intended but I'm pretty happy with it. I hope this is what you're looking for!
✨ requests are open✨
Warning: angst, cheating
Revali🐦
I think with his prickly nature not a lot of people would stick around long enough to get to know how much he cares
But some bitch saw how much he was training to perfect his powers to help Hyrule and couldn't resist
It started off as bringing him lunches and heat pads after a long day of training and then it escalated
They would wrap his wings up and suddenly he was letting them fix his braids. He never saw it as much more than a fan helping him out but you saw differently
It ended up in a big fight when you finally brought up how Revali was allowing this fan to hang off of him like they were his partner not you. You brought up excellent points like how he took such a long time to even trust you with braiding his hair and that he could at least let them know he's in a relationship.
Revali got upset (probably cuz ur right and he can't admit it) and snapped that at least they appreciated him
Yeah bad move. You walked out and bird brain left to train away the pain
You came across his first and decided to head to the shooting range with some peace snacks but what do you find?
You walk up the slope towards the archery range, a container of Revali's favourite snacks in hand. As you approach you see something sitting inside the hut and assume it's him. Sterling your breath you walk into the hut and what you find takes your breath away- not in the good way either. Revali sat there with his wings wrapped around them, too caught up on their liplock to notice you standing there.
CRASH
The container hits the ground with a shatter, ruining their little scene.
"Y/n-"
"Don't even try it." You wish your voice didn't sound as broken. No matter how much your heart squeezed in pain from the betrayal, you wanted to come off so much different- angrier. Because you were angry. "Just because we have an argument does not give you the right to run off with your new friend."
Revali flinches at the word and you feel a sick glimmer of satisfaction. He opens his mouth to protest, ignoring your glare. "I-I'm sorry." Your glare darkens and he immediately flounders for the right words. "You accused me of something I didn't do-"
Yeah, not the right words. You wish you could do something, anything to hurt him like he hurt you. But you had to be the bigger person no matter how much you wanted to snap that precious bow of his in half.
"I accused you, not have you permission."
"We can work through this, together" his wing reached out to you, but you recoiled to fast.
"We're not together." You walked towards the entrance "I hope it was worth it."
Link 🗡️
Link is a closed off person. Sure he has people worship him for his title as the hero of Hyrule, but he would never let that get to his head. You could tell this boy he's amazing and it still wouldn't get through his insecurities
Maybe it's cruel but, that almost reassured you he would never break your heart like that. You felt secure in your relationship
That's why it was so shocking when you found out he had fallen for Zelda.
It wasn't meant to ever be more than knight and princess. And you never should have found out.
You were walking towards the stables of your party was staying at. It was supposed to be a simple trip to complete some research out in the plains. Of course your trip was ambushed by an energetic princess who begged to come along for research purposes. You couldn't complain because the addition of the princess also came with your boyfriend Link.
Now you were looking for him outside the small ranch. You fully expected him to be caring for Epona like he always did after a long trip. His love for his horse was something you had always loved about him. The way he would stay later than everyone else to make sure she was okay. It had made stables kind of your spot. Hanging out at the end of a long day to talk and spend time together while caring for your steeds.
Maybe that was why your heart felt so utterly shattered when you did find him, standing next to the stable, with the princess in his arms. Maybe you could have fooled yourself into believing he was being friendly if he hadn't pressed a long loving kiss to her forehead followed by both her cheeks, chuckling softly as she giggled.
You knew they had always been close. I mean they spent all their time together. You'd just never thought that Link would do something like this to you.
You walked away from the stables fighting backs the tears in your eyes. It was only when you found you had walked into an older area, a spare shack outside, that you finally let the tears fall. Your heart twisted in pain as sobs tore from your throat.
Why hasn't you seen this? Why weren't you enough?
------
Your research trip was almost over. You had gone back late into the night to find Link on the edge of his bed head in his hands. He had shot up to demand where you had been when you finally walked in and although he looked like he wanted to argue, he accepted that you had been organizing your research supplies and notes in quiet.
That had been 3 days ago. You had spent the research trip sticking close to your colleagues, poring over each plant and testing their uses. The princess was too distracted with her own interests to really notice how you shied away from her presence. Link had though. And he was about done with you brushing him off in favour of your work. You both were busy so not having time was nothing new. But this was different. You couldn't meet his eyes and he had caught you staring at him and Zelda as if you were about to cry before. He was at a loss and now he needed to figure things out for himself.
However he wasn't quite ready for the answer.
"I saw you and Zelda together."
His throat closed up. He wanted to say so many things. How sorry he was. How he wished he could have told you himself. How he wished he could hold you and forget how complicated things were.
"it's okay." Now that, he wasn't expecting. "I thought I could be mad at you. Both of you. But I guess... It just makes sense." You sniffled softly. You really didn't want to do this. You hated that it had to be you who gave up. But we're you really going to fight? No. As much as it tore your heart into pieces, you would stand aside for them. "I wish that things hadn't changed but, clearly you don't feel the same anymore and I don't want to hold you back. I love you. So much. But I don't deserve this, and I won't put either of us through the trouble. I hope you two are happy together Link."
As you walked towards your friends to head home Link felt his heart clench. You deserved so much better.
Sidon🦈
You were a princess from another kingdom, betrothed to Prince Sidon of the Zora. We all know how these things go, neither of you were all that fond of the idea but you would go through with it. For your kingdoms
You tried to be as understanding as possible of the situations, knowing that the prince was just as trapped as you were. So you played along with your parents wishes.
You two went on dates and spent time together, getting closer and closer until finally you kissed him.
Things were great. You were planning your wedding and enjoying the time you spent with your fiance as you prepared for your future
It wasn't until a few days before the wedding when you were trying on your dress that things fell apart.
Your dressmaker had been in a bad mood, grumbling as they worked and even sticking you with needles a few times. You would have brushed it off as a bad day if not for the facts that they seemed so unapologetic.
You finally brought it up, softly asking if there was something wrong and if you could help. They snapped, going off about how you were ruining the princes life and that he didn't love you and was only marrying you for his kingdom and that he deserved to be happy.
They realized their mistake and left quickly, leaving you alone in your wedding dress with shocked tears slipping down your face.
You later made you way to Sidons office, hoping to clear some things up and maybe seek comfort from the one you loved.
What you didn't expect was to find him already comforting someone. Your dressmaker.
You watched as he whispered sweet nothings and reassurances to them. It was when he said no matter what they were the one that he loved when you broke away.
You stood in your room, packed bags beside you. You knew there were better ways to deal with this. You knew that your kingdom was counting on you and thus marriage. You just couldn't go through with it. Not anymore.
"Y/n?"
You sound around to find the Zora princess standing in your doorway. Mipha had become a close friend in your time in the Zora domain, even feeling like family as you worked closely planning the wedding. She had once told you that you were everything she could hope for in a sister and wife for her brother. You guessed it didn't matter in the end.
Finally you choked out pained words "I can't... I just... I can't do this anymore."
"If you are feeling nervous, I can assure you my brother would never hurt you."
This made you laugh. It was cold, similar to the ice creeping into your veins. "He would. And he did." You cut off Mipha's confusion, wringing a hand through your hair, "Sidon is in love with someone else. I made every effort to work through this engagement despite our... rocky beginning. But he didn't choose me back. He never wanted me, and I won't ruin his chance to be happy."
The room was silent after your outburst. You only noticed the tears when your friend wiped them from your eyes. She offered you a small smile, sharing the pain you felt. She was losing you and still understood it was best for you. You needed to move on and save yourself from a life of pain. A life of being chosen second.
"I hope one day we can meet again, sister."
You let out a choked mix of a son and laugh. Hugging the princess before you grabbed your bags and walked out the door, out of the kingdom that stole your heart and crushed it in its hands.
"I love you, always."

❥ She thinks it's the cutest thing that they are so touchy, mostly due to the fact that she's more often than not, on the receiving end of the affection.
❥ It warms her heart when if she comes to her and her (S/o)'s shared bedroom, looking stressed or even remotely tired how her (s/o) will drop whatever she's doing to cheer her up.
❥ Whenever they're out exploring and her (S/o) sees something, they'll grab her hand to show her the said thing, excitement and childish joy in their eyes.
❥ It gives her butterflies whenever she grabs her hand under the table at a stressful conference, lightly squeezing it to let her know that she isn't alone.
❥ She especially likes it when she will get all pouty and whiny whenever she's doing work and couldn't pay attention to the her.
❥ Despite the fact that she is always so busy, and can't always be given a proper kiss, she heavily enjoys the little pecks that she is given throughout the day.
❥ She blushes a lot when children and adults marvel at them, watching how (Y/n) tugged her through the streets.
❥ She tries her best to return the affection, although she is a little awkward about it (Poor thing didn't have an examples growing up).
❥ She never received much affection as a child, given her father was always busy and her mother died when she was a small child. So she is very thankful for her (S/o) because she can always find comfort in her presence

❥ She personally finds it cute (Although she'll keep it to herself), but she's very timid, so don't expect any verbal acknowledgement in public.
❥ Someone as shy and easily flustered as her can only take so much before she's red in the face and stuttering out her sentences.
❥ Even when she's busy, she finds it adorable how her (S/o) plays with the Zora children and Sidon or goes with them to protect them when they leave the domain to swim in the river.
❥ She also absolutely adores the fact that her (S/o) and Sidon get along because they both mean the world to her.
❥ She didn't miss the grin that was plastered on her face either.
❥ She loves how hard her (S/o) tries to indulge in he hobbies like swimming, even if she's complaining about how cold the water is.
❥ She has a love-hate relationship with her (s/o)'s jealously with the fact that she used t have a crush on Link.
❥ On one hand, she absolutely loves the affection she gets, but she doesn't really like the fact that her (s/o) feels like Link could replace her.
❥ She will constantly reassure her that she's more than enough for her and that she'd never replace them, (not that it was possible <3)

❥ He never received much affection as a child.
❥ He was closed off and kinda intimidated people around him, unintentionally of course, it hurt his feelings but he never did anything about it.
❥ When he started dating his (s/o), it was like a breath of fresh air that they were anything but  afraid of him.
❥ He gives the best hugs. No questions asked I will fight you about this.
❥ He was never really one to ask for affection but watch him not refuse it at all. If his (s/o) randomly hugs him or even gives him a peck on the cheek, he goes completely red.
❥ He doesn't know how to ask for attention so he'll just stare at her until she gives it to him.
❥ He thrives off affection, he's always holding her somehow.
❥ He will never, and I mean NEVER tell his (S/o) to leave him alone.
❥ When his (S/o) kisses him he just melts when they run their fingers through his hair.
❥ He finds it adorable when his (S/o) is staring at him.
