Tagged by @spybrarian! Thaaaank you!
1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
I have 26
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?
338,736
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I used to write Clexa, but now I just write Tanthamore
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Network Connectivity Issues (ahead by a lot)
A story I'm deeply in love with writing, due to its closeness to my heart and because of the novel way it's written-- which is live on a discord server whenever the mood strikes. Fanfic is typically serialized work, but this feels like...even closer to that immediacy, and it can be quite electric.
The Pieces
A collaborative collection of one shots in the Kinkverse universe (talked about below)
The Bite
Canon compliant fic about longing and how it can come out in your teeth.
The Stones
Essentially a sick fic with some fun world building
The Test
Long distance edging and denial. The fantasies were some of my favorite things to write.
5. Do you respond to comments?
I try to! Sometimes it takes me awhile!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Out of finished fics I suppose it would be The Beloved Prey, though I do have a handful of things I've written to continue that.
Unfinished it would be the unpublished sequel to My Own Echo.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think maybe The Stones. Magic holding and accepting Jade because of Kit's love for her feels pretty happy.
Oh! And Network Connection Secure. The Cam girls having a proposal moment that's distinctly them? Very sweet and I wrote it for Christmas.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not on these ones!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, yes I do. The majority of my work contains it. I think the weirdest I've written (so far) is probably Spare the Rod.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I'm not really big on crossovers, so this isn't something I've done. I'll go hard on an AU though.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nah.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope! Translation is an art in itself-- I think I'd find the idea of someone doing that a little daunting?
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Kinda! @swashbucklery, @spybrarian, @commanderbuffy and I have all written pieces in what we call the Kinkverse. It was a brain child of mine that started with The Lesson, but has since become a collaborative writing world. It's been one of the most lovely experiences of my creative life. J has also written some supplemental material for NCI that I adore. @barmaid-anon and I brainstorm deranged plot ideas constantly, and she is my best/worst little gay graphic critic.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I'm going to need to say Tanthamore.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I'm not going to speak this into existence. I'll say that there are a few fics that I have agonized over for a very, very, very, very, very long time.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I get to the point pretty well. I keep action and development moving. I think I do some good figurative language. I trust my instincts on where a story needs to go next.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
The Agonies. The connective tissue between important scenes. Not knowing what to have characters do when they're on their own. Run on sentences. Too many WIPs and not enough commitment.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I haven't ever found it necessary? I guess I feel about it the way I feel about captions for another language. You know when captions will say "speaks in a foreign language?" Bane of my existence. Either translate it or get out of here.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Pretty Little Liars. I was a big Paily fan for awhile there. Those live back on fanfiction.net
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
The Past feels really good to write because it pulls together all these threads in my brain for the Kinkverse girls, and it feels very unifying for that vision. It's satisfying connecting the dots.
As for who to tag on this: @barmaid-anon, @commanderbuffy, @swashbucklery, @multiplefandommess, @vetiverriver, @onlyshestandsthere, @claymoressword, @kittanthaloselorashield

Ten Questions For Fic Writers
I was tagged by @herrmannhalsteadproduction, @cliophilyra,
@beefcakekinard, @rcmclachlan, and @kirkaut
Number of works on ao3?
137
Total word count?
680,210
What fandoms do you write for?
9-1-1 right now, but I've been known to dabble all over -- my top five as far as # of fics are Once Upon a Time, Stranger Things, 9-1-1 (jfc I'm ALREADY almost 1/3 of the way to the fandom I've written the most for, Tim and Lou put CRACK in Tommy Kinard), The Walking Dead and The Punisher
Do you respond to comments?
I've been doing a truly terrible job of it recently but I try to. The 9-1-1 fics are all looking daunting already, gonna have to get on that soon
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't know? The chances aren't zero considering how many places my writing has ended up over the years but it's never been reported to me and I've never run across it or searched it out.
Have you ever cowritten?
Nah. Frantic, deranged DM's with moots throwing more and more ridiculous ideas back and forth at one another, but never cowriting.
What’s your all time favourite ship?
I'm gonna go with a classic Lizzy/Darcy even though they aren't even my fav Jane Austen pairing. They've stood the test of time and people are STILL managing to find ways to either adapt, rewrite, modernize, or transfer their story onto another pairing.
What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue. Ending lines. Digging into the psyche of whomever's POV I'm in to create a clearer picture, especially when I'm wholesale creating an OC for an outsider POV. Brevity, in the sense that I can cram 50k of fic into a 2k one-shot.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Smut. I hate writing it. I hate reading it back and second and third and forth-guessing myself. It always feels so clunky compared to everything else I write and I'm a shit who won't just practice at it until I get better, I want to be good at it immediately or not at all.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter. Nothing that ever made it to the internet and it was lost to the basement flood of '08 but I can still clearly picture a couple of the scenes I daydreamed up. (Laugh with me as we both realize at the same time that while 12 yr old me was reading FILTHY Snape/Hermione and Sirius/Hermione smut at three in the morning in the dark, I only ever WROTE Ron/Hermione.)
tagging literally anyone who has not been tagged in these, tag me and tell me your secrets.
And a couple I didn't see at a glance on the ones I was tagged in:
@26-cats-in-a-trenchcoat, @devirnis, @firehose118, @princessfbi, @middyblue,
@cecilyv, @liminalmemories21,

WIP Questionnaire Tag
Thank you @kaylinalexanderbooks for the tag and @willtheweaver for the tag!!
What’s the first part of your WIP that you created?
I guess the characters and world. I created EoWC so long ago it's kind of hard to remember what came first, but I do remember obsessively looking for a name for my main OC. It's actually the only name that hasn't changed in the series.
If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?
I haven't ever actually looked into finding a theme song for it, but now I'm curious if I could...
What are your favorite characters that you made? Why?
703 is one of my favorites. She's been one of the most consistent characters since the beginning. Rage and Healer Asurr are also some of my favorites. They're both really fun to write despite their stark opposites. One of them is a lovely Dad Vibes character and the other is a deranged mad scientist obsessed with creating the perfect species.
What other pieces of media do you think your fanbase would share?
Oof. That's a hard one. Um, maybe something with a lot of gore/fighting/supernatural? Like the Netflix Witcher series or SPN maybe? Found family is also a pretty big theme so maybe some other media with that. I'm not really sure what other lovers to enemies media is out there, but I imagine that would also be shared.
What has been your biggest struggle with your WIP?
Plotting. I know how the story plays out, but getting it down into a useable outline is by far my biggest struggle. That and organizing the dozens of scenes I've written into a coherent timeline.
Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!
Lots of animals! Some from our world and a lot created specifically for EoWC's world. But the main animal/species talked about is dragons. Their culture, subspecies, abilities. They are by far the most fleshed out species.
How do your characters travel/get around?
There's a lot of different ways. Ships are common, as they can fly places quickly and travel through Bridges to other Realms. Ground transports are used, mostly only in cities. There are smaller ones, like cars, and bigger ones, like trains to get across a Realm easier. But for smaller cities, walking is most common. Even in the larger cities, walking is still a common way to get around.
What part of your WIP are you working on right now?
Right now I'm trying to organize everything. I'm trying to get all the things I've written laid out to an outline and given an appropriate place in the series. Then I'll actually be able to see what scenes I still need to write and hopefully get a cohesive draft together.
What aspects (tropes, maybe?) will you think draw your audience in?
Um, dragons? I love books with dragons, maybe a little too much. But in all reality, I think the lovers to enemies is what will probably draw people in. I'd also like to hope my world building draws in a few people because I love it.
What are your hopes for your WIP?
I would like to get it published. Self published, just because I think that would be more fun. But really, if I could just finish it, publish it or not, and have one person who loved it, that would be enough for me.
Tagging @the-golden-comet @anaisbebe @fractured-shield @halfbakedspuds @diabolical-blue and anyone else that wants to hop on!!

Tell Other People About Your WIPs
make a list of all your WIPs with a brief description of each and then people can ask you questions about them and then tag other people.
Tagged by both @onekisstotakewithme and @miabicicletta 💜💜💜 Thank you, guys <3 I don't know who to tag that hasn't been tagged already. Interested? Tag, you're it! :) (Please do know that there are no set sections. Pick whatever you want. I went the deranged route.)
I have an outdated WIP list, and many others unaccounted for. This is just a selection of stuff I could see myself posting or editing/retooling to write something new. I love talking about my WIPs, about as much as I hate being perceived because they are not remotely interesting. (I also love knowing which ones people are interested in! I have an incentive to work on them!) (Instead of snippets, part of my feedback loop is sending actual rough drafts to get a sense of whether it's worth working on more.)
Multichapters, different levels of completion.
S5 Pregnancy AU. My main WIP. Can you believe I’ve had this idea for a year… almost to the day? I’ve been stuck since November bc I don’t know how I want this one to end, beyond a birth. (As I’ve mentioned in the past, I feel like this has legs to become a fluffy universe. I have ideas! Timelines!) Gist of it: CJ gets pregnant circa Zooey's kidnapping. How does it change S5? It's less angsty than you think.
Campaign bars, aka campaign conversations sometimes happened at bars in the 1998 campaign. Fun stuff. I need to pick it right back.
What Once Was Ours or the IM AU (2021), aka IM ends with a breakup. Not a WIP. Not a UFO. A secret third thing. (“Finished” but not edited, and I’m doubtful people would be interested. Probably bc of some bittersweet ~memories~ attached to it. I mean, I shared a third of it to discord and people couldn’t care less, at least after a while. Now, better IM AUs are being posted these days; I'm not in a rush.) 33 chapters. 150k words. I do reread it every once in a while, and I cannot put it down. But its 'age' takes me aback. If things had been different, I'd have posted this in H2 2021/Q1 2022 (or even the planned Q2-3 2021). But alas.
The “Almost Ready, question mark” Category
Another SVD prompt meme claim: what if CJ has the crush first. The thing is, I tend to write her as having a relatively obvious crush on him at first until something makes her wise up. So this is just some ridiculous, post-first-meeting thoughts. Most of it was written in one sitting! It kinda fits with something in the campaign bars fic, too.
Post birth, hospital story: A couple of hours after their bb girl is born. Pure fluff. Recently reworked it to make it less wordy. Still failed, but it’s better focused now.
Many ficlets – the few I did post on Tumblr that haven’t been posted to the story I’m collecting them in, plus a couple more. I'm thinking the ice skating one, Jan 22, a few post-eps I wrote last year, etc.
Ambitious Projects I don't think are happening right away (or ever), but probably have a detailed outline somewhere
(I put this up instead of last, because the next category has faves, but it's also a long one.)
Danny is back a bit earlier on s7. Toby leaks (or tries to leak? I always wavered) the shuttle to him, as he and CJ are getting closer.
Simon lives. How does his relationship with CJ evolve post-honeymoon phase? What is it like when Danny returns?
You’ve got mail AU. This outline had two ways the climax could go. I had fun.
Epistolary collab (?) fic. Probably an X + 1 fic. The only one with nothing written; don’t rule out writing it individually at some point.
And because this is so long already (but not as long as it could be)… A few more under the cut – more "I just want to make sure I like them" and "this meme reminded me I meant to pick those back up." And they are still not all. (How do you summarize seven years of writing?? I've only posted 20-something of them, lol.)
“Almost Ready (but I feel like I want to make changes to them) (might just redo them altogether)”
Haunted by the Notion, 2007 edition. My beta Ruth suggested this when she edited the other story, and I wrote it around then. It’s another Christmas dinner at Filomena, and, eight years later, things are different. I feel like it hits expected beats, and is just missing some oomph. Maybe. (As much as I do like it, half tempted to make it 2009. Or later.)
Heaven’s here…: A interrupted proposal. I’ve written many proposals over the years, and I love toying with different ideas and setups. Danny takes the lead here, but I’ve been intrigued by the idea of having CJ do the final twist.
5 to 6 am 'me' time. Another story inspired by last year’s rewatch that I wrote right at the start of it (so Jan 2023?). It has five short parts with five different years of what CJ describes in the pilot as her “me time.” This is one when I think one per year would be fun, but I don’t want to repeat myself.
One bed, “sexy” edition. An AU to a sort of AU (one of the drabbles from this summer) and… it's what it says on the tin. The world does not need to read my attempts at smut. If I didn’t put it in the previous category, it’s because I am not sure that I want to post it. (All the previous attempts are locked somewhere; unfortunately, someone loves this one and noticed when I tried to do that, lol.)
First baby kick: I remember writing this while in grad school (so, late 2017? First half of 2018) but I lost it, along other fic, when my laptop had to be reset because I used Bear to write back then, but didn’t have sync across devices. I rewrote it, and I feel like it's not the same, but still. It's sweet! Includes: Danny talking to the baby, domestic fluff, and… baby kicks!
“This meme reminded me they exist and I love them, so don't be surprised if they are posted before anything in a previous category”
(Lbr, if I added something about them in this post at all, it’s because they sparked some memory.)
Mosaic broken hearts: CJ, circa S4, jealousy. Prompted by a former fandom friend, back in my productive era (first half of 2021; before that friend just ghosted me.)
I can’t believe I captured your heart (pancake breakfast, three words and eight letters). For a while there, I edited it so much but then I fell off. iirc, it was part of some morning-related prompts I saw around that I tried to fulfill in 2018? 2019? And they had like internal progression. But this one was the best of the 3-4, and I kept tweaking it.
Green light of forgiveness (IM-ish) — there are many other IM/IM-Tomorrow snippets I’ve written over the years. I’m not sure if this one makes much sense, but I liked it enough.
Distance — I recall liking this one! Might have to bump it up. CJ is in Africa, Danny is at the Farm and sulking because they left off on some sort of argument. There is some Danny-Abbey friendship goodness here. I even have a second file that is “Distance - shorter version (it’s not)”
Danny writes fiction, shows it to CJ during her pregnancy and she’s into it. Technically written. I would probably try to take another stab at it. Third time might be the charm?
San Andreo phone call/fallout from ID. I just had the idea of CJ reaching out once things calm down. This is one of those fics I’ve written a version of every year or so, but I think there was one I liked quite a bit.
Terrible taste in men — a run-in with an OC ex of CJ. It was so dumb.
Fka Impatience - actually beta’d three years ago (by that fandom friend I've mentioned twice before… actually, three times) and “done”. I just think I’d change so much about it these days. It started being something else but ended up being a CJ-Toby friendship story in which they have lunch and catch up. But I would want to rewrite most of it now, and not just because it’s from like… 2019 (but finished in 2021).
I forgot this one initially! he's passing by, rare as the comet in my sky - 2? 3? times CJ thinks she sees Danny somewhere, and one time she does. (Which tried to work in the 'I remember shunning you' line.) I even wrote some sort of sequel later! Probably useless.
I said I would post a lightning round with fics that are either also done but not ready for me to mention them, or just… not done at all. The length of this post and how much I've spent on it is embarrassing. To give a general overview: in line with the nonsense I've been mentioning, includes phone calls at the end of S7, also a few friendship-focused fics around that time, too; present-day stuff; anniversaries; Hollis fundraisers; weddings; many ficlets, introspective thoughts, a “yes day” fic that's super sweet but needs better dares, the third memoir idea (the original one!!!!) that I had three years ago… And those are mostly the ones I had preselected, lol.
If you're interested, I can screenshoot this part in the notes app if you message me!
Anyway, this is embarrassing, and the worst part is that it's not all. fml.

chronic illness flare has turned me into a soaking wet paper doll of a person, but i have tag games to catch up on and that's a fun distraction 😊💕

show your lock screen, last celeb photo, and last song listened to
oh this is probably going to be embarrassing. okay so my most frequently used device unfortunately doesn't have a customizable lock screen. i am very lucky to have a secondary device i use quite often these days which was a gift from a friend who didn't need it anymore, and that one had a really pretty floral/lyric from the archer for ages, but now... (if i hadn't saved this picture of taylor and benji, the lock screen and photo would've been a neat display of matched insanity, could've hit a trifecta with the song too but fob swooped in at the last second.) anyway...

tagged by (polk! salad!) dani @valkaryah: share my top 5 songs I've been listening to.
according to my current replay playlist, and without repeating artists, otherwise this would be very skewed, it's 1. any day now - elvis presley, 2. heartbreak feels so good - fall out boy, 3. all of the girls you loved before - taylor swift, 4. look at us now (honeycomb) - daisy jones and the six, 5. all my ghosts - lizzy mcalpine (the way lizzy has not left my rotation for a year!)
♥♥♥♥
tagged by darlings @thebohemianbelle and @waxandwanewitchery: when you get this, you have to put 5 songs you actually listen to
similar to the above, but different!!! if i snagged this from that weekly replay playlist, it would essentially be all of the same artists because my listening habits have been in a cycle of comfort lately, but i'll choose five that i do listen to a lot that are also in the list and weren't represented. 1. golden - harry styles, 2. say you love me - fleetwood mac, 3. just one of those things - frank sinatra, 4. supercut - lorde, 5. easy to love - ella fitzgerald

tagged by @headfullofpresley and @castiel: talk about 8 shows as a way to get to know me better. this is unexpectedly hard because rarely are the shows i most dearly love ones that i would openly recommend to another human being haha 😳 so let that be a disclaimer here as i wrack my brain. in no particular order:
(1). better call saul: i will never be as deranged about anything on television as i was about this show, scheming times were had, tragedies were felt, cinnamon rolls were eaten. kisses sealed at city hall, flowers blooming in the desert. my unpopular qualms with the last few episodes/ending aside, it was such a gorgeously layered, meticulously crafted show, i loved those characters so much, it was SUCH a cinematic treat visually, and nearly every step was finely tuned and written in such a thought-provoking way. every step was perfectly acted. i could still talk about it forever. kim wexler queen of my heart, you will always be famous. you don't save me. i save me. (shout-out to the magnificent, and inarguably definitive, predecessor breaking bad.)
(2). penny dreadful: this show is a glorious horror, a mess of victoriana, a fanfiction potpourri of some of the most famous characters of literature, no sane person should invest themselves in it. unfortunately, i, not sane, love it to the bone (except for the terrible ending, you'll catch a pattern here), predominantly because vanessa ives means everything to me. the flame to which all moths gather. defiant martyr of my heart. no one will ever be like her!!! she is my fierce compassionate sickgirl heroine, fighting against the shadows of her world, her soul forever unbowed and true. even when she fears that lost, she holds close her dignity, her ability to love, her perseverance. the poetry with which the show, particularly the first two seasons, was written is unmatched. it's gothic horror in a frame that no one else on television has ever attempted, and it felt made for me when i first watched it in january of 2020. for though it is macabre and gruesome and dark and steeped in grief, it's also about beauty and devotion and resilience and connection. "i see no wildflowers here."/"then you need to look closer." and the everlasting heartbeat, no matter what john logan did to her, my vanessa. something yet remains. i remain.
(3). bates motel: fun fact, i only started bates last february, i've watched S1-4 more than once, and yet still have not finished S5. i keep trying but i don't want to do it! it's a rare one where i already know the ending is fitting, i just keep pushing it off. it's a very difficult show, it deals with heavy themes, there's triggering and horrific stuff in the pilot alone that would immediately stop me from telling people to watch (or at least give me pause), yet at the same time i think it unexpectedly becomes one of the most brilliantly done pieces of television i've ever seen. they have this audacious idea - what if we made a prequel of one of the most iconic movies of all-time? - and somehow not only pull it off, but end up making that story richer and more meaningful. we KNOW we're plummeting towards inevitable tragedy and still wish it could be diverted. we are fascinated and repulsed and aching for the bonds these people share, the desperation as they try to survive. every character is flawed in ways that the story tries to claw humanity out of, and it does something distinct in never shaming or vilifying any of the protagonists for the wretched things they do, never talking down to the audience saying we should be judging them or wishing ill on them, but rather examining WHY they are this way, why they act and react as they do, how they have been bent into these strange shapes. it exhumes your empathy and refuses to let you turn away from the difficulties of their world. the house looms forever like a breathing entity in the background. we will always end up in the basement, but how it comes to happen is the more important tale. and it has the incomparable powerhouse of norma bates, wonderful, awful, extraordinary, complicated, half queen, half little girl. she was like a miracle. as with vanessa, i will never forget her. (another pattern you'll see here: WOMEN.)
(4). remington steele: this was the very first "grown up" show i was ever allowed to watch with my mom, in syndication when i was a kid, and i just love it so much. it's such a delight. 80s glamour! mysteries and hi-jinks! THEE ultimate will-they/won't they romance, and she doesn't even know his real name! try this for a deep dark secret - the great detective remington steele? he doesn't exist. i invented him. follow - i always loved excitement, so i studied, and apprenticed, and put my name on an office, but absolutely nobody knocked down my door... i can recite the whole first season intro monologue, burned into my brain from age twelve. we just finished a rewatch a few weeks ago and i miss them already. laura holt is intelligent, beautiful, romantic, indefatigable, the closest thing the small screen has had to a classic noir inspired brassy leading lady, and was FORMATIVE for me.
(5). crazy-ex girlfriend: they put a musical on television for me. immediate hit right there. many of the numbers are parodies/homage, cheeky and clever but still heartfelt. then it became one of the funniest, most poignant, most empathetic, most memorable explorations of infatuation, self-worth, and most significantly mental health that i have ever seen. there have been a couple of other musical concept shows (smash, notably), but none that achieved what cxg did. it's an extraordinary work and sometimes i can't believe it was allowed to exist, and got to flourish the way it did. rebecca bunch could so easily be called unlikable - selfish, impulsive, obsessive - and yet she is so lovable and so real through all of her flaws, how can you not root for her, laugh with her, sing with her, cry with her? how can you not want her to get better? you find, eventually, it was never even about the guys, though they're fun to explore in all their neuroses too. they're almost...irrelevant. "a diagnosis" will never not make me weep. the show is just so important. this is about the story of a woman who learns how to recover, how to build true friendships (#gurlgroup4eva), and how to embrace herself.
(6). that girl: another one my mom brought me up on, and there are other shows i could mention here (i love lucy, the dick van dyke show, the addams family) as far as prototypes of modern comedy go (there is a direct line from that girl to the mary tyler moore show to friends and new girl), but that girl is particularly dear to me because it was influential to my mom, and because ann marie is a character all her own. she's quirky, she's determined, she's got the greatest 60s fashion, she's constantly getting herself into situations, she's one of the very first sitcom heroines to be a "single girl in the city" and to directly confront sexism (in multiple ways, but especially in the workplace and in the entertainment industry), she is loved and adored by her boyfriend (one of the best and most patient of all fictional boyfriends), but she is not defined by don, they complement each other. marlo thomas, the icon that you are.
(7). pretty little liars: listen. i know. I KNOW. it's silly, it's ridiculous, it has a host of issues, but i was hooked. and the thing is, though the mysteries fizzled and the reveals didn't make sense, what mattered were those girls. female friendship was the heart of everything in that story, they stood by each other and supported each other through every danger, toil, and snare, and even when they messed up, they forgave each other and came back together as a team every time. -A hardly matters, but the liars are everything. young volcanoes. aria, hanna, emily, and spencer all mean so much to me for very different reasons, and spencer especially. my genius, tenacious, too-caring girl. down these mean streets a girl must go who is not herself mean.
(8). supernatural: sigh. would be remiss not to mention it, right? have, in fact, written what amount to personal essays and fanciful poetics on this blog explaining at length what it once meant to me, have delved into the folklore urban legend americana of it all, and while i have gained a certain distance from it since the palpable breakdown i had from its ending that we do not acknowledge, those entries would hold true. it was so formative that things which are on this list would not be here without it, and i know that. it's so inextricable that i can't tell what is a thread connected to it in my life and what isn't at times. premiered on my birthday and presented me one of the greatest loves of my life, who i will always carry with me. i would not quite be me without dean. i would not be here right now without dean, in more ways than one. and i do my best to be brave.
(honorable mentions to shows tam and jenn had on their lists: the x-files, tvd/the originals, the marvelous mrs. maisel; other honorable mentions: btvs/a:ts, bones, dexter, fleabag S2, gilmore girls, the good place, jane the virgin, nancy drew/hardy boys mysteries, orphan black, the haunting of bly manor, select episodes of doctor who, i am quite certain i'm forgetting a bunch!)
for this last one i am tagging @nerdfaerie, @arthurwilde, @desireearmfeldt, @someoneoffthestreet, @freakwiththeknifecollection, @bcyoureallthatmakessense, @setyourfireonme, @dewintering, @joons, @thebohemianbelle, @beckybloomwood, @takeawaythepain, and @wickedhawtwexler, but also any of you who wants to do this, or any of the rest of these, please do, and then tag me!!! i love to see them! i apologize profusely for the pervasive brainrot. 💟

Literally saw a TikTok where someone stitched a video of Tyler Posey talking about how Stiles or Derek are great but it's his (Tyler/Scott's) show and the person stitching it scoffed and said basically "no the f it isn't"
..... he literally was pointing out straight facts. It *is* his show, he is the titular Teen Wolf, everything in the show connects back to him. It's 2023 and these loony stans are just as ignorant and vile as ever. Though I have to laugh that they think simply because they have written tons of fanfiction centering Stiles, that means it influences the show.
Tumblr media
This is nothing new. As you might know because I've never hid it, I do a search every day for new Teen Wolf fictions with Scott in it, excluding Bad Friend Scott and Bad Alpha Scott and Scott-Bashing (as useless as that is because 50% of the stories that fall into the above categories are untagged), but in the vicious reaction to the movie, I've taken to changing the "<1 day" tag to "3650 days ago" in order to find things a little less malevolent. Essentially, I'm reading stories from 2013.
And the results are eerily similar.
In the older stories, Scott is most often positioned as an antagonist to the real protagonists of the series: Derek and/or Stiles. He's either in the doghouse for his defeat of Derek and Gerard in Master Plan (2x12), or he's being urged with the need to join Derek's pack for his own good, or he's being confronted with the illegitimacy of his rejection of Derek, which is based not on Derek being a brutal manipulative power-mad alpha but is based on a groundless dislike or even hatred. Sometimes, this conflict has already been resolved, in which case he's shoved into "loyal beta" role who serves as Stiles's emotional support with a one-dimensional relationship with Isaac or Allison (or both) as a treat.
The Alpha pack, when addressed, is depicted as interested in Derek or -- for some reason -- Stiles. Their actions do frequently provide Scott with the opportunity to prove his loyalty to Stiles and/or Derek. In other words, there is no relation to what happened on the screen or what will happen on the screen.
Flash-forward to ten years later and it's the same thing.
In story after story written in reaction to the movie, Scott is most often positioned as antagonist. He's either in the doghouse for his defeat of the nogitsune and Harris (stupefying, I know), or he's being slandered as not being a good adopted father for Eli, or he's being confronted with the illegitimacy of his relationship with Stiles, which is not informed by the fact that they've lived separate lives for 13 years but focused on the idea that Scott should have based his entire existence around Stiles's. For instance, he's excoriated for not still driving a 46-year-old Jeep or being tricked by the same demon fox that rode Stiles around like a bumper car or not choosing to die instead of Derek.
When they say that they reject canon, they aren't kidding. Fandom's deranged revenge fantasy -- and make no make mistake the goal is revenge because their every reaction to the movie is nothing but hatred -- is entirely based not on what happened on the screen but on what happened more than a decade ago -- Scott McCall was revealed to be the Teen Wolf.
Look, contrary to that enormous racist's attempt to position any other character as the focus of Teen Wolf and hide it behind a thought experiment when it was an excuse to cut Tyler Posey out of cast pictures, there is no Teen Wolf story without Scott. No plot line, no character, no piece of lore was written or executed that didn't have direct bearing on Scott. Not one.
It's sad Tyler Posey has to make a joke about it being his show when every part of the movie was about Scott. I mean, the fact that the only reason that Derek Hale was given a son in the first place was so, in the end, adopting Eli could transition Scott from Teen Wolf to father of a Teen Wolf in two-and-a-half hours is incontrovertible. And the rage of a racist fandom that still, after 12 years, can't wrap their head around a story that focuses on a Latino will never be satisfied. But they'll certainly try.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 🤍
you AND @youngpettyqueen both sent me this which 💜 this just means ten deranged self-recs because. deranged. i'd like to pretend this will be a diverse collection of recs, but. lmao.
1. None of Us are More Than Caretakers (The West Wing)
I wrote this whole story in about six weeks, and I loved every minute of it! About my only real complaint for season 7 of TWW is the transition stuff was so largely focused on the incoming administration, and I wanted to focus more on CJ and Danny (and the secret relationship!) and it overall turned into a little thing about legacy. And all because Gerald Ford happened to die during that time frame IRL! The alternative title is "what if I spent this whole fic setting up the events of Institutional Memory".
A snippet:
“Off the record?” Danny laughs, leaning back against the headboard. “How exactly would you expect me to quote you on this, CJ? The president’s chief of staff, while sitting in this reporter’s bed eating ice cream after sex, was quoted as saying…” CJ smiles too. “Force of habit.” “Sure.”
2. Don't Bet Your Future (M*A*S*H)
My most indulgent, most SILLY passion project. The combination of my love for M*A*S*H + Back to the Future = "Don't Bet Your Future". Essentially, it's a retelling of Back to the Future only BJ is Marty, Daniel is Doc, and... in 1955, Hawkeye is Daniel's son whom BJ has never heard of. This was the best thing I've ever written if only because it was so much fun. You should all write a fic based on your favourite movie, actually. 🥰🥺 (someday, sequels...)
Snippet:
And then a minute later, “What year is it?” BJ scoffs a little, turning on his side. He can just see the outline of Hawkeye in the dim of the room, a negative space with a warm voice, “Don’t laugh, I’m serious.” “It’s 1955.” “And who’s the president?” “Ronald Reagan,” BJ says grumpily. “Can I go back to sleep now, or are you gonna keep making me think about Ronald Regan?” “Is he a good president?” Hawkeye asks curiously. BJ thinks of AIDS and grimaces, his reply a little shorter than he means it to be. “No.”
3. What Unites Us (M*A*S*H)
One of my favourite gen fics I've written for MASH! Essentially, all of the letters sent back to the 4077 post-party. 🥰
4. Ties That Bind (Star Trek: TOS)
The Journey to Babel tag because Jim and Spock accidentally being linked by Amok Time and only finding out because Sarek lets it slip can be so personal (my first K/S day fic)
5. xenia (M*A*S*H)
The first time Peg meets Hawkeye, as seen through a classical lens (aka I wrote this one December while procrastinating studying for a classics final. Triad-ish, Peg's POV.

tell me about your process, inspiration etc for writing your hitcher fic "round and round" (which is a personal favorite btw so hot and so horrible) and uhh for a more specific q what's your favorite line in it?
Thank youuuuuu😭😭😭 I've been morbing around on Twitter talking about how I want to talk about stuff I've already written but not knowing how to go about it, so giving me a chance to talk about one of my favorite horror-canon fics is an incredible treat, thank you❤️
Fic is here @ AO3; it's several varieties of gnarly whumpy John Ryder/Jim Halsey noncon for The Hitcher (1986) so heed the tags, any first-time readers.
I believe this fic is the only time I've ever written time loops but they're a very fun conceit in a horror context especially -- each separate instance of sexual violence isn't what triggers the loop resetting (Jim can't even win on that front, it's a "die and/or be killed" reset) but I find the horror of not being able to escape your situation due to a time loop much spicier and potently frightening than 'ugh, I keep dying before I can reach my objective'. I loved the chance to write each different awful coupling as a different way Ryder might make concrete the insane sexual subtext of the film -- they're different moments of erotic cruelty and extremity, even if nothing technically *violent* is happening (piss desperation is great for this) and getting to write a whole bunch of different ways it could go was a lot of fun in an exchange fic, like giving somebody a Whitman's Sampler of perverse noncon.
It's possible I am too attached to writing stuff that's pointlessly ambiguous, but there's a couple options for how the time loop is working here and I had a fun time integrating all of them
the classic one-person time loop where Jim keeps his experiences after each death and resurrection
they're both sharing the same time loop and Ryder just loves fucking with him (you've heard of "hero is stuck in a time loop and has to convince his allies", have you heard of "villain and hero both stuck in time loop but villain just really wants to fuck hero")
something in between where with each repetition Ryder becomes slightly more aware that they've done this before, that he's been with him like this before, that he's had his way with him in all these various ways and that he's getting closer and closer each time Jim dies to having Jim the way he wants most to have him
The film does a wonderfully perverse villainfucker thing with Ryder wanting Jim to kill him or join him or both -- it's a sadistic power move but it's also a way of wanting to be united with him, and I had a ton of fun writing their final coupling right at the intersection of sex and death, overtly nonconsensual and "it's complicated", active and passive, kinky and violent. Maybe all this evil murderous drifter wanted this whole time was someone to rail him into the mattress, who's to say.
Bad and naughty men having a sadomasochistic duality to them is hot and I love to write about it. (Also damn I forgot I had him getting fucked while soft -- this is a delightful possibility in the world of prostates that I find really sexy but seldom get to write about. Bad Men Get Fucked Soft Challenge!) I also had fun touching on the pain factor in extremely underlubricated rough anal sex for the person doing the penetrating -- I think I touch on that in a recent-ish Rogue One fic but that also fucking hurts, even under happier circumstances than Jim's in this.
For a favorite line: oooooo
Like a reptile, a ghost, his blue eyes just slits in his suntanned face — pleasure unfolding there in the way his head falls back, his mouth setting in a strange smile.
I write a lot of stuff because I've got an image I can't escape from, and Rutger Hauer being sluttily deranged in this movie is such a visual pleasure.

Knowing your partner can potentially make writing together a lot easier.
– BASICS.
𓄿 NAME: Forge/Crow
𓄿 PRONOUNS: he/him/shrimp gremlin
𓄿 SEXUALITY: Demisexual
𓄿 TAKEN OR SINGLE: Single and ready 2 mingle (Women scare me)
– THREE FACTS.
𓄿 I once had road burn on half of my entire body! :D
𓄿 I used to be 304lbs, then the dentist told me I'd lose my teeth if I kept on my diet so I had one last Monster that day and over the year lost 100lbs.
𓄿 I've been committed, ngl don't recommend it unless you wanna just sit around for a week getting 0 help and just playing card games with the old people there. (I had to teach them go fish and boy did I not remember it. Also PSA, weekends & day you enter don't count for the 72 hours :D )
– EXPERIENCE.
𓄿 HOW LONG (MONTHS / YEARS?): Too many moons to count.. back in my day I remember runnin' around as a boy, before the 'inet and using pebbles as currency. (I've rp'd for probably 21 years lmao)
𓄿 PLATFORMS YOU’VE USED: Xat, Myspace, Facebook, Gaia, Discord & Tumblr
𓄿 BEST EXPERIENCE: Honestly it'd be back in the days when I was younger and doing it irl, shit was simple and just.. super fun, granted I look back on it now and cringe hard but I know that I was super happy at the time. Not only could I do something I enjoy but I also had friends to do it with.
– MUSE PREFERENCES.
𓄿 FEMALE OR MALE: Mmmmost are male, I've got females sprinkled in of all variety but usually stick to my main mens.
𓄿 FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT: I am a whore. I mean, uh, yeah. I enjoy fluff & smut equally, they're always a delight, and angst I really like depending on the scenario.
𓄿 PLOTS OR MEMES: Gib both
𓄿 LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: In my early days of RPing on Tumblr all I got was mostly one line replies, so I now actively hate them, like if its shitposting sure whatever but in an actual RP I've gotta have something to go back and forth with. Short, medium, long, idc so long as it has content for me to bounce off of.
𓄿 BEST TIME TO WRITE: Right before I go to bed because my brain loses all filters and I write the most deranged fucking psychopath shit you'll ever see. MOST of Genocide's gore scenes for his book were written by me at 3am.
𓄿 ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): No they're all hot :( but every writer puts a bit of themselves into their characters, otherwise they'll feel hollow

🎬📺 Share ten different favorite characters from ten different pieces of media in no particular order 🎮🃏 Then send this to 10 people (anon or not, your choice) /nf !!
sorry if you already got this
Thank you so much for this ask, I love these asks about characters ❤️ here are my beloveds in no particular order:
Tumblr media
Ratan Vaish - Kali: Call of Darkness, Romance Club: The love of my life, he's everything I've ever dreamed in a character and more, the interactions with him makes me feel goosebumps every time 🛐 He's also very relatable in a lot of occasions ❤️
Spanish Berlin - La casa de papel/Money Heist: How can I not love Berlin? He's one of the most multi-dimensional and entertaining characters in LCDP, also he always managed to make me laugh 😂 Looking forward to his spin-off 🛐
Cho Sangwoo - Squid Game: My misunderstood boy, he did what he had to do to survive 🤷‍♀️ his actions were unethical yes, but there were no other options. Truly a morally grey and complex character (and I know Gi-hun and him dated in her past)
Raul Leon - Control Z: I know he's crazy and that he's a yandere but he has layers you know and I can't resist him, sue me I suppose 😂
Korean Professor - Money Heist Korea: I don't know why for some reason I like him better than Spanish professor, don't get me wrong, Spanish professor is awesome but I prefer the Korean one because he's more collected, composed and calculating. He was also kinda relatable 🤷‍♀️
Chisjen Avasarala - The Expanse: She's THE girlboss, and the true queen of Earth, she gets things done and has an unparalleled elegance, a true diplomat too, no choice but to simp ❤️
Todd Madison - Love from outer space, Romance Club: The other love of my life ❤️ my soulmate, he's as nerdy and as geeky as me and his humour? unprecedented ❤️ (he's the kind of guy I'd fall for irl, along with Ratan)
Gaius Augustine - Bloodbound, Choices stories you play: At the beginning I couldn't stand him. But then after seeing his redemption arc and the reason why he became like that, I started seeing him in a different light and he became my favourite character in Choices 🤷‍♀️
Colin Ritman, Black Mirror Bandersnatch: He's just so cool, his attitude, his style, his voice, everything in him is so cool, EVERYTHING and he gives off an aura of confidence, definitely one of the coolest characters I've ever seen, makes my knees weak 🛐
Yagami Light - Death Note: Sorry (not really) but #TeamLight all the way. Yes, he's a literal psychopath but he's very smart, complex and an overall well-written character and I can't resist that type of character 🤷‍♀️
Some of them are villains, some others are morally grey, some others are downright deranged, while others are anti-heroes but they're still my comfort characters. I connect so well with the fictional deranged I suppose 😂🤷‍♀️
Honourable mention to: Nick Nelson, Angelo Lagusa, Selena, Pierce and Kenzo Tenma ❤️❤️
Tagging my moots instead of sending because I'm lazy: @fantasyoverreality98 @jellyjinx @kitty-blackthorn-herondale @violentinecrl @small-lady-of-the-sea @leeaneea @rf-rida @unsettlingconclusions @darknessqueenrc @shawieespano @somewillwin @farizrz @calraquin @m00nfullofstars @teatimemols @mostlymobilegames @he-hehe-he @baexpoppy + everyone else who sees this

@goofy-kuroshitsuji-goober (tumblr won't let me tag you DX I've been trying for 10 minutes😔) and @vero-vetka13
So I kinda haven't read the manga yet so the Au will follow the continuity of the first season of the anime and the child characters are aged up to their mid teens :3
The Au is set before the events of the Angel revolution where the young Earl Phantomhive have been exchanging letters with a mysterious person, despite him being an incredible strategist and investigator he still doesn't know who is sending him these overly friendly and downright flirtatious letters, or perhaps he simply doesn't want to know.
The letters are what keep his life from falling apart, an escape from the overbearing demon guardian the well-meaning but pushy servants, the nightmares that chase him every time he closes his eyes and the ever looping maze of misery that is the Phantomhive mansion.
He writes back and forth for months, content with speaking with a mysterious entity but fearful that this whole thing is an elaborate ploy by Sebastian to extract blackmail worthy material from Ciel, and if that was the case, he would have been very, very successful, since Ciel has revealed more to these papers that he did to his own mind.
And soon enough he feels safe enough to reveal his worries regarding the demon that is basically tied to his hip, regret sat deep in his stomach as soon as the letter was sent, escapism or not, this is getting dangerously personal. After that letter he stops responding.
It was almost like unleashing a wild dog on an unsuspecting child as hundreds of letters were sent to the mansion weekly, each more desperate than the last, begging and pleading with Ciel to not leave them alone, what did they do wrong? They ask again and again. The once beautifully calligraphed letters with long loops became deranged and illegible messes that more resemble sketches than they do words.
Is this guilt he's feeling? No, it can't be, he just needs some time away from the mansion, from Sebastian and from everything. He packs his bags (food) and wears his peasant clothes (silk and embroidery) and set off to the riverbed.
Ciel sat on the wet grass and immediately regretted his decision, Sebastian would've brought him something to sit on if he was here. No. The head of the house of Phantomhive doesn't regret anything. He opened the basket and his face went pale.... Mey Rin..... you pathetic idiot.... she packed the wrong stuff. Who puts unclean dishes in a picnic basket???
Still, he is determined to prove to Sebastian that he can in fact have a decent day without him there to baby him. He set off to look for a food vendor and thankfully he found a small stall not long away from the discarded patch of grass he deemed his own.
The food doesn't look particularly appetizing and the blond shopkeeper has the most bored expression he has ever seen on a human being before. But something caught Ciel's eye, the familiar elaborate handwriting on the cardboard, but that can't be it.
He approaches the stall with a mask of disinterest as he carefully examines the seller, his light hair is longer than proper but not long enough to be tied, the striking pair of blue eyes that were bored a few seconds ago were now wide. The boy's clothes were the most interesting, they clearly used to be vibrant and the fabric seems to be of high quality but the colours have dulled down due to neglect. And the handwriting remains too similar for comfort.
"Good morning my good sir," Ciel nearly cringes at his attempt at peasant talk, "how much does this cost?" He grabs a nearly unidentifiable cookie.
The boy's face is nearly dripping with venom as if he just saw his father's killer. With a strangely graceful hand, he motions to the written prices. With a sigh, Ciel hands the strange boy what spare change he has which ended up being more than what was asked.
The cookie gets wrapped in pastel pink paper and as he takes it in his hands, he notices something written on it.
'Enjoy, Ciel.'
"I think you are mistaken, I am not who you think I am." Ciel argues, ready to call Sebastian in case this boy proves to be more dangerous than he seems.
A wide smile twists his delicate features as he leans his head on his hands, he opens his mouth instinctively only to close it with a frown as he fumbles to write his answer on a piece of paper.
'Oh love, I know you like the back of my hand.' He writes again, 'I'm glad I saw you, I have to tell you something.'
"Is it so dangerous that you can't say it out loud?" Ciel whispers, his hand already on his hidden pistol.
A hollow laugh rings in his ears as the blond wipes a tear from the corner of his eye before opening his mouth wide. Ciel stumbles a step back at the gruesome sight, the boy's tongue was nowhere to be seen, in its place is a terribly healed wound that seems to have been performed by an animal than by a proper surgeon.
The blond smiles a wide, sadistic smile at Ciel's poorly disguised revulsion, but soon as it appeared, the smile melts into a sad expression which only lasts a few seconds before determination flashes in his eyes and he starts scribbling on the paper.
Ciel needs a few seconds for his brain to even begin to grasp all the emotions that raced across his face, but before he could even fathom the first one, a pink paper is shoved on his chest.
'You aren't the only one, Ciel. Demons are everywhere, an ever growing infection, be weary, keep your eyes open, they want nothing than you-'
"There you are young master," Sebastian's calm voice was enough to make Ciel jump, but he steadied himself, "I searched hell and back for you, it isn't like you to wander alone~"
Somehow he doubts that he put that much effort, with the contract being ever present, "I didn't ask to be looked for, did I?"
"That is correct my lord, but I couldn't help my worry." His faux innocence is almost enough to make Ciel storm right away, but he has more important things.
He turns to the stall, only to find it deserted and empty.
"Looking for someone, young master? I can find them for you, you don't even have to know their name."
"No, this has been a long enough day, take me home." Ciel orders, stuffing the paper into his pocket and out of sight.

3, 11 and 16 for the meme?
3. What fic are you emotionally attached to?
I already answered this one for like, serious emotional weighty attachment so now you get my deranged personal attachments: I busted my ass writing nasty Orson Krennic/Lyra Erso hatesex sex pollen in space and I cannot believe that my consent-issues porno about the most loathsome villain in the most depressing installment of Star Wars and a character he interacts with only long enough to have her killed for defying him is not more popular. Like, come on, its appeal is obvious.
11. Has a fic you’ve written ever caused issues/controversy?
For the overwhelming majority of my writing I've avoided this -- for some reason the thing that causes the most negative feedback is including content notes in my endnotes (marked up top so that people can click through to them without viewing any of the fic) and tags rather than in the summary or initial author's note. This one's a strong personal preference at this point and all I can do, especially if the tags themselves are warning for the same things, is be extra emphatic that additional warnings do apply and this is how you get to them.
I did get someone who was very offended that I write Hickey/Crozier where Crozier is attracted to Hickey, which obviously he would not and could not ever be, but some people write AUs where lead poisoning doesn't make your dick not work, I write AUs where Crozier is sexually attracted to red flags.
16. Do you re-read old fics? Is there a time in your writing you won’t go back to?
I reread my own older work, but I don't reread my own work from high school. I'll leave it up out there in case someone enjoys it but my writing is incredibly ropey and the stuff I was going through at that time is too much on my mind when I read what I was putting out in those years.
