if someone is talking about how much they love their parents do not jump in and start venting about your issues with your parents. if someone is venting about their issues with their parents do not jump in and start talking about how much you love your parents. peace and love amen swag city
#peach rambles#hall of fame i guess#anyway if you don’t know what to say in the former case#just say ‘aw that’s nice!/that’s cool!’ or ask a follow-up question. like ‘how often does [good thing] happen?’#people love being asked questions about themselves esp when they’re happy!#and if you don’t know what to say in the latter situation a simple ‘aw that sucks… ouch… i’m sorry’ or anything to that effect#’but that feels so fake and empty’ you’d be surprised how far little platitudes go#a bandaid and a kiss won’t heal the wound but they make you feel better#people at least like knowing that you heard them and that you want to try#you don’t have to be a poet to know what to say but just say something or at least do not say something disrespectful!

Not “Only my reading of canon is correct” or “Interpretations are subjective and all valid” but a secret third thing, “More than one interpretation can be valid but there’s a reason your English teacher had you cite quotes and examples in your papers, you have to have a strong argument that your interpretation is actually supported by the text or it is just wrong and I’m fine with telling you it’s wrong, actually.”
#fandom#media literacy#like not to be shitty but. a lot of the kinds of things analyzed to death in fandom are not complicated#enough to lend themselves to really different readings in a rich way lol#we’re not talking about vertigo here just pew pew space movies and cartoons and superheroes#things that are typically more direct in what they have to say#so many smart ppl in the Star Wars fandom are too nice about this tbh#‘just my opinion though’ no babe it’s the only well defended take I’ve seen and u should own it!

love when ppl defend the aggressive monetization of the internet with "what, do you just expect it to be free and them not make a profit???" like. yeah that would be really nice actually i would love that:)! thanks for asking
#yes i want things to be free like ??? that is not a weird desire#'but but it costs money to keep up' ok and? how is that my problem#the government has plenty of murder dollars they could reallocate a few to make internet services universal if they wanted#also these companies were perfectly capable of supporting themselves before the internet got drowned with ads so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#edit: muting notifs on this post bc new additions have kind of petered out#so no one feel bad about adding something someone else has said‚ it is not bothering me im just trying to keep my#notifs page cleanish lol#also since i saw some people are being redirected to read my tags: firstly hiiiiii this is a special secret message for you:3#secondly i have learned since making this that the reason they were able to support themselves previously was because#of investors bankrolling everything#and theyre now finally realizing that theyre never going to actually make a profit and arent as willing to invest#however thats just a minor correction and doesnt change my overall point#once again. so many murder dollars#so thats why im just adding it here in the tags rather than making an actual correction#anyways . love yall 💕#origibberish#bigger gibbers

Obsessed with characters who portray themselves as worse than they are. Who are lying to everyone including themselves about it. People generally assume if someone's lying about themselves they're trying to look better but sometimes they're trying to look worse. They attribute agency to where they had none, add intent to accidents, try to convince everyone that this is something they did instead of something that happened to them.
#this is about tenko bnha#but it is also about dahlia ace attorney#watch the nezumiVA videos on ace attorney trilogy they're great#anyway dahlia saying she (at like. 6 years old) apparently convinced her father to abandon her sister. hmmm#also everyone including herself thinking of her as the manipulator in control with terry when she was 14 dating a 20 y/o#anyway these characters both did do terrible things but feel the need to pile on more and remove nuance from where it exists#to convince themselves that this is what they really want. that they chose this.#it's about the loss of control it's about being a victim feeling worse than being a villain#at least if you were the bad guy you had autonomy#shimura tenko#shigaraki tomura#dahlia hawthorne

I had a fic idea but don't know where to go with it, so if you want to expand on anything feel free.
So, Danny's finally an adult who's off to college at Gotham (the STEM there is crazy for how many supervillains have doctorates). Since Vlad actually took the time to heal and grow past his issues and turned into the crazy Bi uncle he was supposed to be, Danny's got his college paid for.
In the form of $50,000 and an kinda ok motel near the upper west side.
He tried asking his former nemesis why he's done this but Vlad just told him it's so he has some "pocket change and experience".
Danny's been spending the past few weeks aceing his his STEM middling at literature and upgrading the motel into something actually decent.
His business seem to be attracting the strangest living too. That's saying something since he's got ghostly and living guests. Danny knew this place was cursed but still feels surprised every time they show up.
1st: A nice lesbian couple came on the first night cause one with green-ish skin named Pam according to the pale lady named Harley felt the vegetation get really excited when he came. He had about an hour of questioning on Ectology and who Undergrowth was.
2nd: A 10ft tall crocodile man named Waylon came in cause of Harley's recommendation, he looked like he'd run any moment. That night he made sure his staff wouldn't mistreat people like him and by the time croc left there was a glowing sign by the door about how different guests are to be treated with respect no matter how they look.
3rd: THE Red hood showed up asking about a kid who worked there. Her name's Zoe and when her parents reaction to their kid being trans was to kick her out of the house at 17. She biked to the motel to get some rest before catching the bus out of Gotham, got a job checking people in instead and has since found an actual family with the help of Amorpho a social worker Danny met a few years ago.
4th: the most recent event was when Gotham's play boy prince and his cousin Kate Kane stumbled in during his shift at the front desk. Mr. Wayne was pretending extremely well to be drunk while his cousin was wrangling him awkwardly. If Danny didn't have super senses he wouldn't have noticed he was acting, or the tracker added to his cuff when he was semi-forced to shake "Bruce, just Bruce. Everyone's always so stiff." Hand. The tracker had little legs and crawled under his shirt, creepy and fascinating.
#dpxdc#dc x dp#danny phantom#dp x dc#dc comics#crossover#feel free to add on if you feel like it#danny runs a motel#Danny is never gonna have a normal life#Vlad may not be a creep anymore but he's still a bit crazy#ghosts are frequent but their good at hiding and keep to themselves#Danny spent a whole day knowing there was a spider-thing up his sleeve :(#Danny's staff doesn't discriminate between gender race OR species#Danny isn't hiding his other half just not advertising it either#Harley and Ivy know but they've sworn to secrecy to watch the drama#Red Hood brings runaways by every now and then cause he know their in good hands#Danny suspects he's been inducted into hood's gang#he basically has#Danny is the main heir to Vlad's company since Dan and Danielle are too young#not that Vlad told him-or that Danny won't split the company three ways when the other two are older#Danny's not the Ghost King yet-he's not ready#the ancients have the same plan for Danny that Vlad does

Delving into Kantian Philosophy: A Review of "The Critique of Pure Reason" by Immanuel Kant
Immanuel Kant's "The Critique of Pure Reason" stands as one of the most influential and enduring works in the history of philosophy, reshaping the landscape of metaphysics, epistemology, and the philosophy of mind. Published in 1781, this monumental treatise seeks to provide a comprehensive account of the nature, scope, and limits of human knowledge, offering profound insights into the nature of reality, the structure of the mind, and the conditions of possibility for knowledge.
At the heart of "The Critique of Pure Reason" is Kant's revolutionary concept of transcendental idealism, which posits that the mind plays an active role in shaping our experience of the world. Kant argues that the mind imposes certain fundamental concepts and categories—such as space, time, and causality—on our sensory perceptions, organizing them into a coherent and intelligible framework. Through his rigorous analysis, Kant seeks to uncover the a priori conditions that make experience possible, shedding light on the fundamental structures of human cognition.
One of the key themes of "The Critique of Pure Reason" is Kant's distinction between phenomena and noumena, or appearances and things-in-themselves. Kant argues that while we can only know phenomena as they appear to us through the filter of our cognitive faculties, there exists a realm of noumena that lies beyond the reach of human knowledge. This distinction has profound implications for Kant's philosophy, shaping his views on the limits of human understanding and the nature of metaphysical inquiry.
Moreover, "The Critique of Pure Reason" is notable for its meticulous analysis of the nature of space, time, and causality, which Kant identifies as the fundamental categories of human thought. Kant argues that these categories are not derived from experience, but rather constitute the necessary framework through which we interpret our sensory perceptions. By elucidating the synthetic a priori nature of these categories, Kant lays the groundwork for his transcendental idealism and challenges traditional empiricist and rationalist accounts of knowledge.
In addition to its groundbreaking philosophical insights, "The Critique of Pure Reason" is also celebrated for its rigorous methodology and systematic approach to philosophical inquiry. Kant's meticulous argumentation, intricate terminology, and careful exposition of concepts make "The Critique of Pure Reason" a challenging but rewarding read for scholars and philosophers alike. Kant's influence extends far beyond the boundaries of philosophy, shaping the development of disciplines such as psychology, physics, and linguistics, and leaving an indelible mark on the intellectual landscape of the modern world.
In conclusion, "The Critique of Pure Reason" by Immanuel Kant is a towering achievement in the history of philosophy, offering profound insights into the nature of human knowledge, the structure of the mind, and the limits of metaphysical inquiry. Kant's rigorous analysis, groundbreaking concepts, and systematic approach to philosophical inquiry make "The Critique of Pure Reason" a timeless classic that continues to inspire and challenge readers with its depth, complexity, and intellectual rigor.

jester of breath - one who distracts with breath or distracts breath.
#kor's dream art#homestuck#john egbert#june egbert#j egbert#jegbert#i've thought of this concept of jester players for a while.#a jester player is pretty powerful in my opinion. but the thing is: the jester likes to goof around.#so they might or might not play around until the very end.#they can be either really helpful or really annoying. which i mean... jesters can be like that.#jester players have facades that's meant to distract people and themselves from their own personal struggles.

#yugioh#ygo dm#worse manga AU#yugi mutou#katsuya jonouchi#joey wheeler#yami yugi#feathershipping#yes jou's ears are pierced. i folded like wet paper the moment the idea appeared#tbh freehanding the foliage in the second piece without blocking out the shape first took way too much brain power#but its nice to know that i Can do it#I imagine in the worse manga yuugi does get more involved in the rintama gang plot. this is so completely predictable but. listen. listen#that shift of dynamic early on intrigues me ok. jou honing in on yuugi for something he values but yuugi despises#and then the hirutani thing and yuugi directly asks the puzzle to protect jou for the first time and jou taking that cue to see the#friendship along at yuugi's speed (read: play some nerd shit games with him)#a sorta neat feature of this AU is once yuugi and yami have separated themselves from each other they get#exponentially better at their trade bc they literally have a spare pair of eyes on lookout lmao#n e ways. it is time. for me to sleep#good nite lads. if it all goes well i will never have to think abt mw/cd in this AU (<- is already thinking abt it)

I have had these thoughts bubbling away in my head for like...eighteen months or so now (it will become very obvious why shortly) but the discussion in this post has pushed me to write them down: I think societally we HUGELY underestimate how motherhood for primary caregivers, particularly first-time motherhood, can be a source of vulnerability to radicalisation.
There is obviously huge cultural variance here, but for a lot of cis women becoming primary caregiver to an infant in a capitalist Western society represents a time of immense vulnerability because in general you are:
Incredibly sleep-deprived (which has well-documented knock-on effects for your judgement, mental health, etc)
If you gave birth, recovering from a significant challenge to your physical health (even in the best-case scenario)
Isolated from your previous networks and communities of people in full-time work
Completely separated from the context of your prior career goals and achievements
Under huge amounts of stress to learn how to care for an infant (don't get me started on breastfeeding)
And on top of this, you are also be experiencing a huge amount of messaging about how all this is natural, wonderful, something you're meant to do, something you should love doing, and something that you must do for the welfare of their child. It's a huge amount of pressure and life change even when everything goes right and there's very little cultural space to express negative feelings about it.
Any group of people who offer community, support, and affirmation to cis women in this situation are going to have a really good shot at radicalising them into some very weird and dangerous headspaces and in fact we see this happen all the time - think antivaxxers and TERFs. It flies under the radar because of the hazy positive glow that associates with motherhood and babies and also because we don't take the radicalisation of women seriously I guess because they rarely shoot anybody, but...yeah. It is such a vulnerable time!
#people who do not see themselves in the cishetero stereotype#are obviously going to have some separation from this & therefore protection#full confession: obviously in the last year and a half I have done a LOT of midnight Googling about Baby Things#and you know what. very often the top hits are Mumsnet forum threads#which...often contain useful and sympathetic advice#I can so easily see how people get sucked into that#they're not getting people with TERFy shit they're getting them with 'tips for getting your four month old to nap better'#which is the MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE WORLD when your kid is four months old#and then the TERFy nonsense presumably comes later#because that's how radicalisation works

Here's the comic I made for War Never Changes, a Fallout charity zine that's still available to puchase digitally here: link.
The captions are lyrics from Autopsy Garland by the Mountain Goats. I've been dreaming of making this for literal Years, and the mods for the zine let me do it for them! I'm still pretty proud of it, and only regret that I completely forgot to replace Col. Hsu with General Lee Oliver in the final. Sorry man.
