on Job, God & Crowley's fall

it took me 5 rewatches of good omens to realize this.

Crowley is, in S2E2 seeing how Job, a human, is allowed to ask questions with no consequences. Job is doing the exact same thing Crowley did before his fall, and he's not being punished like Crowley was.

"was my pain worth anything at all?"

let's just think about it, Crowley who loved creating stars, who was innocent, full of light and who was cast out for loving his starts too much. for wanting them to be eternal, for simply asking questions, got punished for eternity by something he did out of love and innocence.

he who loved, found himself in a pit of boiling sulfur, punished for doing the same thing a mere human is now doing, in front of him. it must be awful, to wonder that maybe, if you had more faith, if you devoted yourself more, if you were more loyal, maybe you wouldn't have been punished. to think that he must have doubted everything about himself in that moment... ffs it haunts me. and i can't imagine how painful it must be to crowley, who had to spend most of his life alone, feeling out of place everywhere he goes, and who probably wonders every night what could've been different. why was he punished while others weren't. why is gabriel an archangel? why is any of the archangels still an angel? after everything they've done? why must he be cast out but not the others?

i imagine azi too must feel awfully guilty too. why is he himself still an angel? he has lied, to everyone, including to God Herself, why is he still an angel? why isn't Crowley an angel? all he ever did was ask questions.

and also, God gave everything back to Job after the test too. does crowley wonder? maybe if he remained loyal to God, he would've been given the opportunity to have it all back? maybe he did try, maybe he was loyal. I'm certain we haven't seen all of it, and it's exciting to think we might see more of it in s3! can't wait

Update on the Aventurine boss fight!! I went in with Gepard, March 7th, Bailu and Boothill

IT FREAKING WORKED!!

I was getting good shields left and right! And March's counter attacks were super helpful!!!

Everyone got out alive and my beloved Boothill delivered the final blow!

Now I can relax with 2.2 until I inevitably cry over Sunday's boss battle

And maybe I'll attempt Argenti's boss fight after all!

If someone lacks a sense of humor or lacks the ability to amuse her (even without a sense of humor - just being naturally amusing to her despite not intending to be humorous), her interest in being around them diminishes rapidly. She's old, things often repeat themselves in her experience. Having humor is one of those things that keeps things fresh, unpredictable.

The type of humor doesn't much matter. Dark, light, silly, intelligent, etc. Humor means a lot to her because it shows someone is not just willing to laugh at the world, but even at themselves to some degree. It's a type of self-reflection that doesn't have to be focused upon but still makes a difference. That's not to say stoicism isn't bad, but if it's stoicism and they lack being able to amuse her by being themselves, then it's just bland for her.

Despite how polite and patience Mortem can be, when it comes to her personal time (if she's engaging with someone unrelated to her purpose) she will absolutely just be fickle with engaging with others. Whether it's a first impression, crossing paths with someone she's familiar with - it doesn't matter. If boredom is felt, she'll just excuse herself.

Someone with humor will always have more favor with her.

kindness is a skill you have to practice

if you speak your mind for every negative thought about someone or something, it's not being 'honest'. it's being reactionary and rude at best.

why would you want to put more cruelty into the world when you can mind your own business or even make someone smile on a hard day?

also: this is coming from someone who is both autistic and has low empathy. even people who are challenged by social interactions can learn to be kind, it just takes practice.

It's a hard skill to learn sometimes, but I've been learning to be kind my whole life and it does get better and easier with time.
