The Tick Season 3 Speculation
Listen I don’t know if we’re actually getting a season three or not, but if we are here’s a few things I think we could see:
-Chairface Chippendale. Between Superian being yeeted away by the space cops and Thrakkorzog making a surprise appearance, it’s safe to say we’re heading in the direction of space. I imagine a great way to introduce the season would be with the Chairface Moon thing- it could be played as him jumping off the moon being the last place Superian was spotted for notoriety, and a villain monologue could be a great way to inform any new viewer about the end of Season two
It could also lead to a great team up of Chairface, Thrakkorzog, and the Terror if they bust him out of his ice prison
Alternatively, the season could end with Chairface making a last minute appearance, with the second-to-final shot of the season being Tick and Arthur running off to deal with him
-more Overkill backstory. Season one touched on his loss of the original Flag Five, season two touched upon his loss of his AEGIS team. Season three could focus on his birth family and how he ended up an orphan in the first place, just to keep up the morbid running gag of him always losing his family as soon as he finds a new one. Either that or between his AEGIS family and his new DB/Tick/Everests family, he had another family, which included Bob (keeping up the theme of there being one surviving member of his lost families like Midnight and Rathbone)
-okay this isn’t so much speculation as it is wishing on dandelions, but I want silly unconvincing evil clones to make an appearance. IDK, maybe they could tie in Barry Hubris as well, like having him team up with an Arthur clone.
-the lobster babies growing legs like Lobsercules has. Just imagine that, Tick and Arthur being there for their first upright steps.
Alternatively we hopefully get all the Lobster baby names
-I don’t even know how they would fit, but I would love to see Paul the Samurai, Man Eating Cow, and the Chainsaw Vigilanty. I doubt we’ll see Paul and CV, since the Pyramid Gang kinda debatably took roll of the Ninja from the original comic, and we already have a morally mixed anti-hero vigilante. Still, MEC was kinda name dropped during season two, so fingers crossed
-IDK I just thought of this as I went to post this, but imagine if Batmanuel (or someone who was heavily implied to be Batmanuel) was revealed to be Overkill’s (or Lint’s) biological father LMAO

Secret identities are a difficulty. The Tick doesn’t have an alternate identity, and Arthur’s is a little too obvious, which leads to him losing his job. Per his boss: “We’re simply not insured for your kind of hobby.” Arthur may be inept at having a secret identity, but other characters can manage it, so the second half of the season indulges in a game of masks, as secret identities and superpowers are revealed all over the place. It’s a bit silly, which is the point.

ooohhhh... this is obvious in retrospect, but it is interesting how many other characters butt up against the issue of bifurcated identities in season 2.  Agent Doctor Hobbes as government-scientist / villain-mole, Ms Lint / Joan of Arc, Lobstercules as villain / innocent mother, Rathbone / Thrakkorzog, Walter / John, sort of Dangerboat as boat / plane... even Flexon not wanting to bring his super-identity into the underground gambling den
and plot/character arcs are resolved by collapsing those identities.  all adding in to the greater message of being true to yourself

I forgot how much I loved The Tick, the theme song, and especially this episode.
Thrakkorzog is so Tim Curry/Frank-n-furter.
