167-168. Madrid, 1992.

Mallory Wanecque & Timéo Mahaut in "The Worst Ones" (Lise Akoka, Romane Gueret, 2022)
this was just profoundly beautiful and outstanding performances from the young cast, rarely does a film feel so real

I Fear
[A little ficlet featuring Timeo and how he feels about people, feat. Swiss, although he's not there much until the end, and only briefly.] Below the cut.
Timeo knew he was not a people person from the moment he was summoned.
Being an amalgamation of so many souls that came before him had not turned him into a peaceful, loving individual.
Rather, bearing the burden of all the negative emotions they had felt in life, twisting and congealing to create him had left him world weary and tired.
Still, he was not the sort of bite the hand that feeds.
He's acted politely, done as he's told, and given respect where it is due... but despite so many positive interactions with others, he could not help but feel detached from them, as if a wall of glass had been placed between himself and all those around him; He could see them, hear their words, and understand them from afar, but he could never be closer than that.
Lingering memories of people and places send him on longer walks to avoid the poison of nostalgia, to avoid the gazes of those who recognize someone in his visage that he does not, nor care to, know.
It is hard to be a person when one's entire existence was contingent on a whim, though perhaps this is how it feels to be a child born simply because idle bodies needed something to do?
He felt both wanted and unwanted.
Like his creators were negligent parents who wanted a baby but grew bored of it once the labor was done.
He thinks of himself more and more like a babe left to stare at a landlord white ceiling, devoid of anything stimulating, with no love, no comfort.
Just emotionless paint, and the shadows of figures moving around, but never towards, him.
So it's hard for Timeo to imagine anyone wanting anything to do with him beyond fulfilling some deep need within them to bother someone about their problems, and seek solutions in a stranger.
He's often been a sounding board for other people's troubles, yet he keeps his own tight to his chest.
And that hurts.
But what hurts more is...
Reaching out towards Swiss' sleeve, Timeo pinches the fabric gathered around his elbow.
No words.
No words could do justice to the ache he feels when the other does not pull away.
Timeo knows he can feel him there as they walk, knows he's keeping silent for fear of scaring him off.
Fear, huh.
That's his name, isn't it?
No... No that's not quite right.
His name.
His name means, "I fear."
And, indeed, he is afraid.
