Bojunyixiao’s Weibo night 2023/2024 🎉🎉
can you believe we’re here again. no matter how problematic sina weibo is as a platform, their awards night is a day cpfs look forward to because our boys will be attending. even if we know they won’t interact or anything, the fact that they get to attend the same event is enough for us.
Tumblr media
i will just include the recap for the past years on here, the 2019/2020 being very short cause i feel like that has been widely speculated and talked about already. then 2021 and 2022. this post will discuss the event and stuff that happened + some commentary + cpn clownery. enjoy!!!!!
I. CPFs team building and showing strength
It would not be fair to exclude this feat that cpfs achieved with the free tickets for Weibo night. Even if we had no idea if both of them will attend, cpfs tried to grab tickets just in case it happens so we will be prepared. In the first round, we surprised all other fan groups with how we dominated and it set the rhythm for the next rounds. Trust cpfs to set the trend and make other fandoms “wake up”. lol. They can say what they want about cpfs but we all know that part of the hate is because they do not understand why we’re still here. They don’t get why we are this strong and a happy group.
My favorite thing that happened was when the top profile photos spelled out BJYXSZD + heart with a mole. It doesn’t stop there tho, the next week/round, we still dominated so Sina Weibo tried to save face by doing some tactics to suppress us. Nevertheless, every week, more of us got tickets because of the help of our little turtle fandom.
There were also efforts to get top comments on Weibo Night posts but I won’t get into that anymore cause we usually do that. But the thought of showing strength “online” as what the boys advertised is sweet.
Tumblr media
Years later, we are still as strong as ever and shall remain that way. and that’s all thanks to each and every turtle out there who chooses positivity & makes sure our community remains a safe space.
II. The anticipation and announcements
It’s safe to say that this year, XZ is a sure attendee cause he always tops the voting at this event. However, some were still not sure cause he did not attend other public events last year like 10c starlight or NYE events cause he is busy with filming his projects. On 1/10 evening tho, a rather unsavory rumor made it on HS which was a signal that weibo night was getting desperate and wanted some noise for their event. lol. maybe there are other parties involved, but the intent is the same. I will also just mention the issue that happened on 1/9 with Chunzhen and them withdrawing lottery tickets supposedly won by certain fans. But the next day, Weibo lottery decided to honor the win and gave the tickets. I have no reaction to this tbh, and that’s why i didn’t talk about this separately and at length on my blog. It’s the brand / fandom that i have nothing to do with’s issue. As a turtle, we all know how CZ is with certain things so i’m not surprised that this happened. LOL.
I honestly feel for XZ, he is out there working hard and minding his own business but people and circumstances keep dragging him into irrelevant incidents.
As for WYB, everyone thought he wasn’t gonna attend. This is the same energy as last year. People are busier with grabbing tickets for his SDC6 finals and completely ignored weibo night ( as they should ). There was still some hope tho, cause if you think about it, he attended a lot of platform events. Tencent, IQIYI, GQ MOTY and 2 NYE shows. So why not Weibo Night? I have said it before, but one thing that I loved about WYB attending multiple events by the end of last year was it’s a show of his position and professionalism in the industry. He can go anywhere and be welcomed — he has good relations with almost everyone and that is important in their industry.
I know he is not fond of public events, but i’d like to think he says yes because of his professional relationship with these platforms/companies. I was never a fan of when people flex that their fave “will not go to xx because they did something to him etc.” LOL. That’s not how any industry works. You can’t burn bridges and I’m happy that WYB doesn’t do that. It’s also a testament of how much of a good boy he is 🤍
Anyway, back to the timeline. On 1/10, Weibo announced some winners and the boys are on there. I guess One & Only winning was a clue that WYB will go. Then a so/o account gave a tip that WYB will announce his attendance to an event on 1/11 @ 13:00. So by the evening of 1/10, it was mostly confirmed that WYB will be going.
The next day, 1/11, Weibo Night account started posting emoji clues for the remaining celebrities to be added in their guest lineup. A few hours later, both the boys announced their attendance. What’s different this time tho is aside from the usual copy-paste caption, there is a reminder for everyone to not do any fan activities at the venue. more details was also added in the comment. I guess they don’t want a repeat of what happened last year with the crowds. It caused a delay & cancellation of the red carpet. Both XZS and YBO reposted with more guidelines to follow like no gatherings and light signs etc.
i know weibo dictated the posting time but the 13 kadian is sending me! yizhan! 🫶🏼
Tumblr media
The BJYX ST mods also sent out a message to not do any offline support.
There are more fandom drama after the announcement with other groups but i won’t add that here anymore cause it will only rot our brain. && it’s so much better to focus on the boys!
III. Pre show discussion
On the eve of Weibo Night, GG attended an awards show and it gave us some sweet candy. The most interesting to me is the choice of Alexander McQueen and the first two celebrities tagged by the brand on their weibo in 2024. This is giving me Dsquared vibes. Also how it almost mirrors the wedding-ish vibes they had last Weibo night. I know we as cpfs are somehow programmed to seeing connections but honestly, they don’t make it hard.
Late at night too, Weibo started showing opening screens of attendees and of course they didn’t put them in the same group/frame. This is understandable cause they wouldn’t put the top male celebrities together and knowing how both their fandoms hate each other. Also, how the grouping went, WYB’s was more of the “movie group”. That won’t stop me from being a bit better tho. lol. Cause if they can’t put them in the same frame like that, there is just no way they will be on the same stage or even sat remotely close to each other.
A photo from inside the venue also showed the projected commercial on stage is WYB & Chunzhen 😂😂😂😂😂
I can just imagine XZ smiling when he sees.
Tumblr media
There were also talks of the both of them being on the second row. XZ was already seated way before the ceremony started, and their names are so close but cpfs were anticipating since WYB was not inside yet. We were all waiting to see if it will happen. WYB is supposedly next to YZ but then we see that Jackson sat there. We joked that he should stay there so WYB’s place will be taken and he will have no choice but to sit next to XZ 😂😂😂
IV. Red Carpet shenanigans
🟢 WYB’s red carpet walk
I honestly didn’t get the whole look tho when some people pointed out that it’s the glam version of what he wears when he plays golf — i kinda got it. For his past platform events like GQ, IQIYI & 10C, his red carpet were really casual. I guess that’s what he wants — to be comfortable walking the carpet. There were also some praising him for going against the norm. Well, I have to say tho that his face really stood out. Minimal to no make up look. He was so handsome! 🫶🏼
🔴 XZ’s red carpet walk
I love his outfit! It’s black but still got that something special to make him stand out. &&& I honestly love the hair! I thought I would cry because of how short it is now but it suits him. I mean, he looks gorgeous in anything but you know what I mean ☺️
CPN: XZ signed his name beside/very close to WYB. granted, there are so many signatures there but i’m wondering if he recognized his husband’s signature. lol. In this simple way, they can be next to each other!
Tumblr media
V. Weibo night links
XIAO ZHAN
Photoshoot for red carpet look
Photoshoot for second outfit
Xiao Zhan winning Outstanding Actor of the Year
WANG YIBO
Photoshoot for red carpet look // Photoshoot BTS video
Yibo winning popular filmmaker of the year
Yibo-Official post for Weibo Night
* This is incomplete cause we still don’t have ( at the moment of posting ), the BTS for XZS photoshoot + their photos while receiving the awards.
VI. THE SUGAR RUSH 🍭🍬
• WYB’s personal post of him and the caption. The freakin caption. Look, i know that WYB’s brand is all about being the “cool guy” so maybe that’s why he said in the caption that he likes the HS about him. But the thing is, it’s totally out of character. How many events did he attend with him going so high up the HS with much more interesting tags but he chose this? Also, he really needed to do so that he used his own account??? For a couple of years now, yibo-official is the one that posts for him when he is at an event. So the speculation is this one is personal and amused him so much, seeing that their HS for the same event they are both at matched! Also, when WYB posted that, CPFs flooded the top comments! Understandably so. 💛
• The signed photos which i’m not sure about. I actually saw someone post that earlier and people were clowning about how it can’t be real.
Tumblr media
But then, an account posted a giveaway with all the other attendees and it included the couple photo. I’m putting this down as clownery, cause on their end there will always be deniability. The autographed photo was also deleted by the account a bit later, which is actually expected cause it will bring trouble. lol.
• XZS and YBO matching again! Look at how they arranged the photos. How a few of the snaps are not in theme with the rest. Nothing new here!
Tumblr media
• The same song and dance of them missing to see each other. As soon as XZ was gone, WYB came in to sit down. Good thing he had Jackson to talk too a bit and he was gone again after 10 mins! Hopefully they could spend time together backstage away from the cameras. 📷
People are pointing out that XZ was checking his phone lol. probably checking if WYB is giving him a signal to leave so they can do their usual operation. These two! Honestly!
Tumblr media
• Not really CPN, but a similarity. In the red carpet, both of them didn’t do the “activities” that others were supposed to. If you watched the red carpet, there is a point where they have to choose something from a wall with numbers. there is also a choice to take a photo from one of the “themes by they both bypassed it. I was rolling my eyes cause a WYB anti was trying to make a big deal out of it, but then XZ did the exact same thing. Some people just don’t understand how celebrities like them operate. Not to say that they are above everyone else, it’s just that they do things differently.
• ZSWW fake rumor account posted at 19:21. At this time the red carpet was already finished. It doesn’t say who is saying which line. I’m interpreting this incident to be something that happened today backstage 🤡🤡🤡
"A kiss, a kiss...
"Oh, okay, let's talk about it later when we get back.”
"There will be a surprise when I go back 😏”
"What?"
“You'll know when you go back”
Then they posted again, at 21:05 with a much longer one but it doesn’t seem be pertaining to today’s events.
• There is a photo/video of XZ talking to Huang Bo! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! and now we’re thinking about how they haven’t cooperated with each other but seem familiar. Yes, we don’t know all their relationship and friends off camera but my mind immediately went to the SDC 3 clowning. That’s most likely when they became close. lol.
• Heaven’s choice cause WYB was sat at #23 ( Love Zhan )
• This time, both of them left the venue after they received their awards. XZ didn’t stay like he did the previous years. Good for them! It’s better to spend time together 🤍 I know that most of us expected what happened today, them not being in the same place at the same time. Tho some may see that in a negative way, I actually see this as an example of trying to keep their private life separate from the public. Tho a big part of their lives are on camera and that’s how they met. I think what they are doing is really to reserve the time they have & are seen together in private. Maybe some can’t see it that way and will be frustrated but at the end of the day, we have to respect their choice.
• XZ’s 2nd outfit is by Balmain! He tends to wear this at events that they both attend 🥹🥹🥹
Tumblr media
• It’s now XZ’s turn to see the cpf headband light signs! Lol. I hope he saw it. We all know that he is near sighted sooooo….
Tumblr media
====
If there are post event CPNs, i will do a separate discussion. See you in the next Weibo Night! ✌🏼

Flights of Fancy
My NSFW contribution to @jackpot-dantezine, where Dante and Reader discover they share a hobby. Enjoy!
Word count: 1,679
------
Dante hummed and adjusted the focus, bringing his latest quarry into view. Brown feathers, a pointed beak, the last remnants of the avian’s breakfast still hanging from its beak. A robin, male, maybe a year old or so judging by the plumage. Gorgeous, though common.
It had been a productive morning; he’d catalogued a young pair of goldfinches and a plump great tit already. The spring always brought more activity, but this year was truly a treat. Now, if he could just spot that evasive starling...
“The heck are you doing?”
He dropped his precious binoculars and whirled to face you. Shit, how was he gonna explain this? The last time he told someone he watched birds, they’d laughed him right out of the room.
“Uhh…”
You kicked off your shoes and came closer. His palms were sweating. Shit, shit, shit. You weren’t supposed to come over until six. Why the hell were you so early?
“Spying on the neighbors? Anything good?”
Dante swallowed, his mind frozen. That sounded like a trick question…
“Uhh…”
Your hands wrapped around his binoculars and raised them up, fiddling with the dial to focus them. All he could do was watch as you peered across the divide and into the next building.
“Oh, wow! Is that the lady with the border collie? Hard to tell from this angle…”
Fuck, this can’t be happening!
He was so screwed. Either he confessed to his ridiculous hobby, or he surrendered and let his partner think he was a voyeur. Talk about getting stuck between a rock and a hard place.
“You know, if you’re into watching, all you had to do was ask,” you said with a coy smile, lowering the binoculars to meet his panicked gaze. What the hell was he supposed to say to that?
“Wh- what?” he stammered.
You stepped back and ran your hands lazily across your chest. “I’d be happy to give you a show.”
Still trying to assemble a coherent sentence, Dante didn’t resist when you pushed him down onto the cushion of the reading nook under the window he got the best views from. If this was going where he thought, he had no complaints, but it didn't sit well that your teasing came about from a misunderstanding.
You turned away from him and bent over, your ass swaying exaggeratedly. The first stirrings of heat came to life in Dante’s groin as your hands slid across your body, taunting him and toying with the edges of your clothing.
“You know you don’t have to do this, right?” he said. He’d be kicking himself if you stopped, but still.
You looked back over your shoulder and winked at him.. “I know.”
Dante’s mouth went dry as you slowly faced him, your hands drifting to take off your top. Each button you released revealed a few more inches of your body, the slowness of it close to torture. He licked his lips and tried to relax, but his mind refused. This wasn’t right.
“Wait, just… hang on a sec.”
“Why? Do you not like it?” you replied with a slight frown.
“Are you fucking kidding me? I love it, babe. I just… I gotta tell you something.”
You bit your lip and shifted your weight. “That doesn’t sound good…”
He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck, searching for words. This really shouldn’t be so hard, it wasn’t like he was trying to dump you.
“I wasn’t peeping. Voyeurism isn’t really my thing,” he began. “At least, not when the person doesn’t know they’re being watched. What you were doing, that was hot.”
You rolled your eyes and took a seat beside him. “You just haaaad to say something...”
He quirked an eyebrow. “Huh?”
“Do you have any idea how often you've left out your bird book? Pretty dead giveaway.”
Dante groaned and shook his head. Of all the stupid-
“Did I ever tell you about the time I spotted a Hawfinch?”
The red-clad man’s thoughts screeched to a halt. Those little fuckers were some of the rarest birds in the region. Just to hear their call was basically winning the lottery. Nobody who didn’t take part in his hobby was likely to even know they existed, which meant…
He stared at you in disbelief. “Wait, you too?”
You shot him a smile. “Yeah, though not much recently. I lost my binoculars when I moved here.”
Dante’s heart flipped. No, it soared - just like his beloved birds. Joy and warmth formed the air current lifting it, suffusing his chest until he could barely breathe.
How could you possibly be so wonderful?
“I’ll get you a new pair,” he said, “So we can do it together.”
You hummed. “Sounds great. But you know, there’s something else I was hoping we could do together today.”
Your weight shifted as you faced him, body language and the lingering flush in your cheeks enough to drive home the hint - that dance was meant to rile him up. Never one to deny the chance to tease you, Dante wrapped his arms around you with a smirk. “Oh, yeah?”
“Yeah,” was your husky reply, lids lowered and breath catching.
He leaned closer. “Like what?”
“Like this,” you replied, pressing your body against the twitching bulge in Dante’s pants. Gente fingers brushed aside his snowy locks and your lips descended, planting kisses up the column of his throat.
“Fuck, babe…” he growled. You hummed in response, dragging your hands across his broad chest.
The moment you came up for air, his lips crashed against yours, hungry and haphazard. He didn’t care when his teeth clacked against yours, or that your lunch lingered on your breath. It didn’t matter when his jaw complained or how his tongue strained to meet yours. It was all worth it.
The heat of your body, so close to his. The scent of your skin. The soft exhale of your breath. Your existence enveloped him and cast a spell on his senses, somehow too much and never enough at the same time. He’d never get tired of being with you, not ever.
His lips danced from your mouth to nip at your pulse, teeth and tongue toying with your flesh. Need overwhelmed him as you responded in kind, tearing at his shirt and belt until you found skin. Warm hands on his body, nails scratching each time he found the right spot to suckle; it wasn’t long before two sets of clothing lay discarded on the floor.
And then, his favorite part - when you took him inside you and welcomed him home. So deep, your body responding to his as if his touch kept you alive. Moans and gasps mixed with murmured curses, hips slamming together and spreading his need across your thighs and ass. He braced against the windowsill and thrust harder, stealing needy groans from your kiss-swollen lips.
“This what you were after? Huh?” he panted.
Your spine arced, body tightening around his length. “Shit, yes!”
Dante growled and flipped you over, his eyes fixated on beads of sweat rolling down your shoulders and spine. You buried your face in the upholstery, sharp cries leaking past the fabric each time he bottomed out. Lost in the throes of pleasure, he didn’t care that anyone who happened to gaze at the window had a full view of his passion.
He grunted and tugged your hips against him, grip gentle yet firm. He knew how you liked it, and giving you what you wanted came automatically to him after so long together. The look of euphoria on your face was gorgeous as your voice broke, your body clenching around him as your core spasmed. Dante reached around to tease at your front, elongating your bliss as he followed barely a beat behind.
“Fcuk, I’m - ah, shit!” he cried.
Energy surged from his body, searing a blazing path to his cock and into your body, thick ropes of his completion dancing against your innermost muscles. Dante’s vision flashed, his body arcing as if doing so got his seed any deeper. His hips stuttered, moving without any sense of rhythm or coherence until he came back to himself at last.
Panting breath spilled from his parted lips, beads of sweat cooling as they rolled down his brow and back. His body felt light and heavy at the same time.
“You good?” he asked.
But your attention was elsewhere, eyes locked on something far away. Dante pulled out with a quiet groan and peered through the window, looking for whatever stole your focus.
“What is it, babe?”
You didn’t blink. “Hand me the binoculars.”
The tenseness in your tone and the set of your shoulders allowed no argument, and Dante did as he was told, pausing only to grab his boxers. “Here.”
As you brought the lenses to your eyes, he set a dish towel beside you for whenever you were ready for it. Whatever you saw, you’d tell him eventually.
Then, a sudden gasp.
“I don’t believe it…”
Dante crossed his arms. “What?”
Still staring out the window, you adjusted the focus. “It’s a pied flycatcher.”
Now it was Dante’s turn to gasp. They were one of the ten rarest birds in the region, never seen within a hundred miles of here. What the hell was one doing here?
“Lemme see, come on!”
You still didn’t look away as you held out the binoculars to him. “It’s on one of the higher branches of the oak tree.”
He held his breath as he searched the branches, his well-trained eyes used to spotting feathers among foliage. There it was, its brown plumage granting it camouflage against the trunk. It was preening.
“Holy shit, I see it! I see it!”
You laughed and tugged him down to sit beside you. He settled in to watch the little bird for a while, his free hand reaching out to touch his beloved partner every few minutes. The two of them took turns with the binoculars, laughing and sharing the joy of their hobby for the first of many times.

The Mega Bitch
She was from L.A Rachel Meghan Markle was her name. She wanted to be an A lister complete with fortune & fame
She went from one casting to another and took the advice of her mother. You don't give the milk away for free. Everything you say & do always as a fee
You plot & plan, deceive & contrive. That is how she lived her life
Meghan did get some menial acting parts but she craved adoration like Diana Queen of peoples hearts
She had studied Diana she was completly, utterly obsessed. Soon she got her chance to put her knowledge to the test
She got someone to hook her up with Di's youngest son Prince Harry. She'd missed her chance with Will the one she really wanted to marry
The date with Harry soon came around she'd sprayed herself with Di's perfume she'd learnt about & found
She put on a perfect up to date copy of a Diana outfit, she taught herself the perfect pose in which Diana would sit
Now was the time to act her perfect play, Harry was still grieving Di so would be easy to sway
Nows her time to act & play, to be the perfect Diana, for she had studied her every pose, every look & manner
At Soho house they met, where she told Harry everything he wanted to hear. About how she's a humanatarian and all the charities for which she did care
Meg had got Prince Harry right under her spell, for everything about her was like Diana, she even had her smell
Harry was overwhelmed she was the most beautiful he had seen. She was everything he'd always wanted, everything he could dream
They quickly arranged another date, Meg could not believe he'd taken the bait!
Harry talked of his love for family & Africa she agreed with everything he said. All his dreams were hers he believed her, he was easily led
What Harry didn't know was about her shady past, she'd hired a PR team to hide & to change it fast
Now she had the problem of her family especially Thomas her dear old Dad, for he knew everything about her, they were close, he gave her everything he'd ever had
He had paid her private education with his lottery win but he'd had no money since. Now he's no longer needed, because she'd hooked a Prince
She decided she would set Tom up, she would make him look bad, that is what she did, with him she turned the public mad
She decided her family (except her mum) were all up for the chop with that all & any contact she did stop
Her Dad was heartbroken she was his little girl whom he did adore. But to Meg he'd outlived his usefulness so she didn't need him anymore
Soon Meghan & Harry were wed as her dad watched from his hospital bed. He'd had an heart attack but Meg she didn't care, not even about his health. The only thing she cared about was her new found fame & wealth
Now she'd reached that fortune & fame, she was at a peak but the more she had the more she would seek
They gave her a mansion she wants a palace she is so full of spite & malice. Anyone more popular anyone with more, Kate & Will in particular she did abore
Meg realised she couldn't be Queen, she could not be top, thats when she decided Harry's family were next for the chop
She knew Harry is easy & malleable, she thinks that she is infaliable. With lies & paranoia she started to fill his head, the bad things about his family Harry believed everything she said
The Brits were starting to see her ways, where as in the beginning for her they had nothing but praise
She thinks she is better, above one & all. She believes everyone is below her, everyone is small
She'd gone from man to man using them as stepping stones, no matter what the Royals give her she always whines & moans
With Meghan her beauty is only skin deep, for real beauty comes from deep within, her heart is NOT pure its filled with hate & sin
She believes she is the best, she thinks she is so much better than the rest. She is magnificent, a leader, a saint, at least thats the picture she does paint
She doesn't care about anyone but herself she is a narcissist, she as delusions of grandeur she believes only she is A list
She believes she should be worshipped, she believes she should be praised, everyone should love her, all she should amaze
She thinks she is righteous and oh so god like, but we see what she is an old, used bike.
She calls us all racist but its her actions with which we are p!ssed. The Brits don't like to be used, especially when it is they who pay. We are sick of her behaviour, her always getting her way
Rachel Meghan Markle had a plan from the start, with her Diana act she had won Harry's heart
Her dear old Dad who'd spoiled her rotten, he stayed in Mexico & was forgotten
Meghan had got what she wanted, to be famous & mega rich, she was not adored though, for people don't like a sanctimonius, supercilious b!tch

Hi, I absolutely love your work, it’s my favorite Arcana blog! ❤️Can I have a head cannon or a short scenario (which ever one would work better for you in writing this) where Asra comes home from one of his trips and finds that his Mc has made his favorite meal, drink & even laid out his favorite flowers for him? Not only that but he asks them how they knew & if they asked anyone like Muriel. However, the MC did not ask anyone and just remembered it their self! Thank you! 😊
Thank you for requesting, I am glad you are enjoying my writing ^-^ That was an adorable idea!
* Lapsang souchong is a kind of tea, and Asra’s favorite
≿————-————-   ❈ ————-————-≾
Dragging his feet through the streets of Vesuvia, Asra was more than happy to come home. Normally, he loved traveling, but undeniably, some expeditions were tougher than others, and he looked forward to putting his feet up and get a good night's rest at home.
And more importantly, he looked forward to coming home to you.
Truth be told, he hadn’t made as much progress in finding your memories as he wished he had, but still, every moment with you was a gift to experience always. He could have lost it all, but he didn’t, and that was what he was most thankful for in life. For you, it didn’t matter how many mountains he had to climb and how many swamps he waded through. He would take all those hardships and more if it was for your sake.
Asra had done better this time, he had sent you a letter when he was going through a worldly city last, telling you he’d be home by today. Normally, it was more of a lottery win to actually meet him when he came home, but he had been gone for a long time, and he missed you. He wanted to see you, even if just for a few hours before you two parted ways again.
The jingle of the bell as he opened the shop’s door, carefully sealed with magic that he taught you, was a warm welcome in his ears. He didn’t bother putting everything away orderly, hat and scarf thrown over the coat rack, bag sinking to the floor next to it. He knew you’d scold him for bringing his dirty shoes in, so he pushed them off right in front of the door, knowing no one would be entering or exiting it before morning anyway.
From above, the strong smell of his favorite tea drifted down, and Asra took a deep breath, inhaling it. It was his go-to, his favorite thing to have in the world, and it laid itself around him like a comforting coat of scents. “I’m home!” he announced, a smile spreading over his lips just from saying those two words.
The stairs creaked under his weight, a familiar sound to him too, and he was even happier when your head popped out from above, expression turning into a bright grin. “Welcome home!” you smiled, waiting for him to get upstairs, before giving him a hearty hug, letting yourself be swayed left and right in his arms as Asra reciprocated the gesture.
“I made your favorite dinner!” you announced as he finally let you go, and Asra smiled, lurking over your shoulder while you trotted back to the stove. Opening up the cover on the pot, the well-known aroma of spices and blue-tongued skink meat were set free, making Asra’s mouth water with an elongated, satisfied hum leaving him.
“Did Muriel tell you?” he asked, grabbing some plates from the shelves and put them out on the table. His eyes fell on the small vase, filled with water and a branch of Belladonna sticking from it. An unusual flower arrangement to keep on the table, but his eyes widened at the sight of it, hands stopping as he was in the middle of putting down the plates.
“Mhm, no, he didn’t. Muriel’s been very busy putting up his charms lately. I haven’t seen him this week at all.”
Already smirking a little at Asra’s hesitation, you put down cutlery and two cups, gently pressing down on his wrist that hovered in the air. “Guess what I remembered two days ago when I sorted through the books we own?”
“What?” he asked, puzzled. Finally, he set down what was in his hands, turning towards you more. Circling your finger a few times in the air, you eventually poked his nose, announcing, “You!”
“Me?”
“Yeah!” Laughing some more, you returned to the stove, asking the tiny salamander to turn down the heat, stirring your cooking. “I cleaned up the books and skimmed through them, and then... I remembered you. I remembered how we’d often have skink and how you’d always make me some Lapsang souchong* when I was reading. And you gushed about Belladonna whenever we’d pass one. It just... all came back, all of a sudden.”
Smiling back at him, you were taken aback when you suddenly found yourself in his arms, barely able to hold on to your wooden spoon and quickly putting it down before turning towards Asra. “What else?” he asked, eyes wide, an unknown longing in them. “What else do you remember?”
“We would go out to the forest a lot, and meet with Muriel! And you took me to a cave for training! My... aunt, I think, she didn’t like it when you taught me fire spells, that’s why you showed them to me behind the shop-- Asra?” Calling out his name, worry fell over your chipper expression, hands coming up to cup his face. You thought he’d be happy when you told him about it, but you didn’t expect the wet feeling on your fingertips from the tears that clouded his eyes, falling down quickly.
“W-What’s wrong? Are you not happy? Did I do something wrong?”
Shaking his head immediately, Asra reached for your hands, cupping yours with his and kissing both your palms. “No... No, I am very happy! I- I didn’t think you’d ever remember any of this...”
“Oh...” Giving him your most encouraging smile, you brushed your thumb over his cheeks reassuringly, sniffles accompanying the tears that fell, even if the corners of his mouth curled up into a smile. “I’m so happy, [Name],” he mumbled, crying some more.
It felt like a colossal stone boulder fell off his shoulders. Even if it was just him, or maybe because it was him who you remembered, Asra could barely contain the happiness that boiled through him. Even though it wasn’t his doing, you still remembered something on your own without any repercussions to it. A part of you, that he had to fear was lost entirely, came back, and at least a little bit, it felt like he had accomplished something. There was so much more of your life that had yet to return, but that handful of memories gave him more hope than anything that had happened so far, that maybe, he’d really find your past again after all.
Taking a deep breath, he pulled you into his arms, hugging you tightly. Feelings of luck and thankfulness, relief, and being proud of you went through him, and if you hadn’t wiggled in his hold eventually, he would have held you like this forever preferable. But nodding towards the pot behind you, you reminded him of the dinner, and that was nothing Asra would have wanted to miss.
He held your hand throughout dinner, tightly, as if you were an illusion that could dare to disappear right before his eyes. The plates were emptied, and the food tasted exactly how you had prepared it in the past. Almost, he had started crying again, but he kept a hold on himself, instead pressing you for more memories when the two of you were done, listening intently to the treasures of moments you recovered.
“Wow, that’s a lot,” he remarked as you wrapped up your tales. “Yeah...” you mumbled, nodding lightly. Your expression fell, as you took a deep breath, intertwining your fingers with his. “But that’s not all of them, right?” Looking up at him, you had a mix of guilt and desperation shimmering in your eyes, and Asra shook his head, squeezing your hand back.
“No, but I’ll find them, I promise.”
“Asra...” you whispered, sighing. “You don’t have to do this. Leaving all the time, looking for something that might... not be there anymore. You can just stay here - with me! And Muriel! And we can make new memories instead!”
His smile turned somewhat bittersweet as he heard your words, and he nodded. Truth be told, both of you knew he would still leave after all, but you had a point. Maybe he didn’t need to search wide and far, perhaps he had to help you find them where you made them. Maybe it would help to go to places with you again or show you things that had been dear to you. Perhaps it was time to work on these things together with you again.
“I’ll stay for now,” he agreed, and your smile grew wider, from ear to ear. Holding out your right pinky, you made him promise, knowing Asra could be very spontaneous with his decisions from time to time. But he linked his with yours, and you laughed when he gave the promise a kiss on top of your fingers, his chuckles chiming in with you.
“I promise. But I’ll find them, [Name]. That, I swear.”

Charlotte Hornets Acquire Eric Leckner from Sacramento for Two Second Round Picks
Tumblr media
On January 29th, 1991, the Charlotte Hornets traded a 1993 second round draft pick (Alex Holcombe) and a 1995 second round draft pick (Dejan Bodiroga) to the Sacramento Kings for Eric Leckner.
The Sacramento Kings originally acquired center Eric Leckner along with guard Bobby Hansen and three future draft picks in a three-team trade that saw Pervis Ellison end up in Washington and Jeff Malone go to Utah.
Leckner joined a Kings team that had Ralph Sampson at center, but the position would become crowded quickly. Soon after acquiring Leckner, the Kings drafted center Duane Causwell in the first round of the 1990 draft. Next, they traded for center Bill Wennington from the Dallas Mavericks.
The pack of centers would compete for playing time and Leckner oftentimes found himself as the odd man out. Kings head coach Dick Motta preferred a center that could operate from the high post and Leckner’s paint-based style of play clashed with Motta’s vision. Leckner’s lack of playing time would cause a deep fissure in the relationship between coach and player.
In 32 games with the Kings, Leckner was averaging 2.9 PPG, 2.7 RPG and 0.6 APG in 11.8 MPG. Operating out of the high post was also hurting his efficiency, as he was shooting a career-low 40.6% from the field.
Leckner had wanted to be traded. He was in the final year of his contract, earning $475,000 for the 1990-91 season. Looking to secure a new deal, Leckner was offered by Kings director of player personnel Jerry Reynolds the chance to leave in a trade or stay on the bench the rest of the season. Leckner approved the trade and was dealt to the Charlotte Hornets. The Kings were 12-28 when they dealt Leckner.
Charlotte gave Sacramento two second rounders. One was in 1995 and the other — in 1993 — was conditional. Leckner had to be on Charlotte’s roster a year from the trade for the Hornets to convey their 1993 second rounder to Sacramento.
Charlotte was 13-27 when they acquired Leckner. Relying heavily on veteran center Mike Gminski, the Hornets were often playing smaller players at center and needed a big body to fill the position as a reserve. The team went 13-29 the rest of the way to finish fourth-worst in the NBA with a 26-56 record. Leckner was given an opportunity to play in Charlotte, and showed some signs of development. He had three double-doubles in 58 games with Charlotte after failing to record one in his first 184 games in the league. Overall, the 6-foot-11 center produced 5.8 PPG, 5.2 RPG and 0.3 APG in 18.6 MPG.
The Hornets won the 1991 draft lottery and drafted UNLV star forward Larry Johnson. with the first overall pick. Charlotte head coach Gene Littles moved to the front office and vice president Allan Bristow shifted to head coach in a organizational realignment.
Leckner did not sign a contract with the Hornets until right before training camp. He ended up with a one-year, $618,000 deal keeping him in Charlotte. Under new coach Bristow, the Hornets planned to play 6-foot-9 J.R. Reid more often at center. That meant Leckner would have to fight to receive any minutes on the court.
He suffered, playing less often as many of the center minutes went to Reid, Gminski and Kenny Gattison. Leckner appeared in 59 games (two starts), and recorded 3.3 PPG, 3.5 RPG and 0.5 APG in 12.1 MPG. Charlotte dropped 24 of their first 32 games to start the season. The team would play better behind the efforts of 1991-92 Rookie of the Year Johnson and Kendall Gill. Still, they finished out of the playoffs and in the lottery once again with a 31-51 mark.
Charlotte won the second spot in the 1992 NBA Draft and selected Georgetown center Alonzo Mourning with the second overall pick. Mourning’s addition — plus the presence of Gattison and Gminski on the roster — dropped Charlotte’s interest in retaining Leckner. He was not re-signed.
Leckner was not able to catch on with an NBA team in the 1992 offseason. He ended up heading over to Italy and playing for Panna Firenze of the Serie A2 League in Italy. Leckner ended his Hornets tenure with a stat line of 99 games played, 4.3 PPG, 4.2 RPG and 0.5 APG. He shot 49% from the field and 62% from the free-throw line.
The conditional 1993 second rounder the Kings acquired from Charlotte was conveyed since Leckner played past the 1991-92 season with the Hornets. The acquired draft pick was slotted at 44th in the 1993 draft. Sacramento selected 6-foot-9 Baylor center Alex Holcombe. Considered a raw athlete with an NBA body, Holcombe had a 7-foot-5 wingspan and 9-foot-3 standing reach. Holcombe did not play in summer camp with the Kings because he committed to playing in Europe.
During the 1993-94 season, Holcombe played in Spain (CB Breogán) before becoming homesick. He moved on to the CBA (Grand Rapids Hoops) for the rest of the season. He played with the Kings in 1994 Summer League at the Rocky Mountain Revue. Holcombe’s draft rights were renounced by the Kings in October of 1994.
The 1995 second rounder the Kings had secured in the trade from Charlotte ended up in the 51st spot of the 1995 draft. Sacramento used the pick on Serbian forward Dejan Bodiroga. A 6-foot-8 point-forward, Bodiroga was a unique player. Though he wasn’t the best shooter or quickest player, he drew comparisons to Magic Johnson due to his size and ability to pass the ball.
The Kings attempted to woo Bodiroga to come to the United States, but he passed on multiple occasions. In 1996, the Kings were interested in using their $800,000 exception on Bodiroga, but he never signed. In 2002, Bodiroga was tempted to come, but he never committed.
A star in Europe, Bodiroga played for some of the top teams in the EuroLeague including Olimpia Milano, Real Madrid, Panathinaikos and FC Barcelona. He was well decorated, winning three EuroLeague championships and 2002 All-Europe Player of the Year.
There were a few questions about whether Bodiroga could play the NBA game, but many believed he had the skill. Still, despite all of Sacramento’s overtures, Bodiroga never played in the NBA, retiring professionally in 2007. The Kings waited more than 22 years after drafting Bodiroga before renouncing their rights to the 44-year old Serbian forward.
Eric Leckner on the trade (via the Sacramento Bee):
“Being mad or bitter now isn’t going to change anything so I’m just going to look at this as a great opportunity to start over. I’m going to get to play some serious minutes in Charlotte. I get to go to work now.”
On wanting to leave (via the Sacramento Bee):
“I just want to get out of here. I could go and talk to him (Motta) about it but it wouldn’t do any good.”
On being in the doghouse in Sacramento (via the Charlotte Observer):
“I’m in the front row of that doghouse. That was not about ability It was personality or playing style. Yeah I was in that doghouse — right next to Ralph [Sampson].”
On wanting to prove himself:
“It’s time for Eric Leckner to do something.”
How he brings a different skill set compared to starting center Mike Gminski:
“I bring a contrast to Gminski. He’s a little sneaky with a lot of 10-foot jump shots I’m strictly a back-to-the-basket player. You put a guy 20 feet from the basket and not let him rebound — that's not my style. I spent more time in the paint in practice today than I did the whole time in Sacramento.”
Charlotte Hornets vice president of basketball operations Allan Bristow on acquiring Leckner (via Deseret News):
“Eric will provide us depth inside without sacrificing our immediate future. He will also spell [Mike] Gminski from playing too many minutes and since he is such a young player, we hope to help him reach his promising potential.”
Sacramento Kings head coach Dick Motta on Leckner (via the Sacramento Bee):
“He was so uptight. The high-post, low-post thing is a cop-out. If you want to score in the low post you’ll get there.”
How having four centers was an issue in Sacramento (via the Sacramento Bee):
“We should never have come out of training camp with four centers. We didn’t know that Ralph Sampson was going to be with us for the whole year. It wasn’t fair to us. It wasn’t fair to any of them. Between Bill Wennington and Eric, we felt Bill gave us more.”
On Leckner being nervous (via the Charlotte Observer):
“Every time he got in a game he seemed to be nervous. With four centers here there was no chance for any of them to relax. It wasn’t fair to them or us. I hope he looks at it as us breaking up a logjam not picking on Eric Leckner.”
On how an incident where Leckner kicked a chair out of frustration meant more than just the chair (via the Sacramento Bee):
“When I’m upset with myself I never let anyone know it. That’s my edge. When Eric kicked that chair, I told him the chair would still be there tomorrow and so would the anxiety that had built up inside of him. He had so much anxiety. He never learned to relax and play.”
On the roster glut at the center position:
“You can’t have four centers. I didn’t think Ralph would be here. I had to go with Duane [Causwell] because he needs experience. I want him to play 2,000 minutes this year. Maybe it’s a mistake because he hasn’t earned those minutes, but I’ve got to do it. That left Eric and Bill [Wennington]. I thought Bill gave us more. Any way you look at it, it wasn’t a good situation.”
On Leckner’s dissatisfaction with his role in Sacramento:
“I never try to be friends with my 10th, 11th and 12th men. “You can’t do it. I hope Eric does well. I didn’t mind working with him. We just didn’t have time to keep him around and see what developed. I hope Eric is still playing in the league 10 years from now. I don’t know if I would bet on it. But I hope he has a nice career.”
Hornets center Mike Gminski on the toll playing 36-plus minutes a night was having on him (via the Charlotte Observer):
“I can (play that long) every once in a while but a steady diet of 40-minute nights would have taken its toll on me.”
Hornets guard Kendall Gill on how acquiring Leckner could help them stop a recent losing streak (via the Charlotte Observer):
“You just don’t know how badly I want to win. I’ve never experienced anything like this. I’m glad we’re getting another low-post player [Leckner]. That’s got to help.”

Notes on Magick
Notes on: The Elements of Spellcrafting, Jason Miller Key 1: What Magic Actually Does ‘Magick is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will.’ - Aleister Crowley Magic is an influence, not a cause. The key here is to take out the idea that Magic is a direct cause of change, and instead make it an influence upon change - one influencing factor among many, the nudging of fortuna. Whatever the effort, your influence is in competition with other influences, some of which support your goal, some of which work against it.  When we get into Magical goals, this idea is key. It shows us why spells that aim to divert a coming storm will work better than attempts to make it snow in July. One of these is an event that just needs a nudge, the other requires a drastic suspension of the laws of nature. Magic as an influence rather than a cause is why enchanting for a better job or to start a successful business is a good investment of time, while spells to win the mega-millions lottery are a fool’s errand. An influence on what, exactly? In general, Magic is an influence upon two things: events and minds. Events, meaning anything that has a probable chance of happening, from a storm, to a car accident, to a raise at work. Magic doesn’t make these things happen but it can influence them. Minds, meaning the classic enchantment of spellbinding - influencing what a person, or even groups of people, think. A lot of people get concerned that they might be robbing someone of free will by doing Magic for this, but it’s important to remember that Magic is just an influence like any other. The mind is is even more resistant to influences from the outside. That is not to say that minds cannot be influenced with Magic - Enchantment is one of the oldest forms of Magic, but it’s rare someone does a complete 180 turn on an issue just because of Magic. Enchanting someone’s mind is not difficult if it is something they are at least open to doing, and you’ll do non-Magical things to help that along too, but the idea that you are going to psychologically dominate someone through Magic is not so easy to do, even if it were ethical. There are some over-the-top methods for this, but most people avoid them. Sometimes you might be doing Magic that you expect to affect the mind of a target, but will instead manifest as an event. Magic always presents an influence over events and minds, but that influence is not always enough to sway the situation. When crafting a spell, let your awareness of how Magic works inform what you use it for. When Magic doesn’t work or work the way you think it should, ask yourself: What was I trying to influence and how much resistance was there to it? Is there a more probable angle and manifestation that I can approach this from? Am I aiming to change minds, events or both?

;biography
name — Vanity, Emma faceclaim — Lily James  age — 25 gender — Cis-female. Women who would fan themselves endlessly while sipping her mother’s 5 o’clock tea would say female as if it were a barrier. They would point out that she was a lady, and that therefore, she should keep her back straightened, she should brush her hair, she should never say that word again out loud. Yet, her parents never asked Emma to put on a skirt because the Rowles are visiting. They never treated her like a little bird, like a future bride in training that they would marry off as soon as graduation. Her father had many faults, but never did he force Emma into the thin, cage-shaped stereotype that was female in their society. She was his heir. She learned to ride winged horses at ten years old. She was taken to saloons where men drank firewhiskey and talked business at fourteen. She wasn’t scolded after stealing her father’s cigars one summer at fifteen — she couldn’t escape getting enrolled among the Death Eaters as she turned seventeen. Therefore, Emma is a cis female, but the definition her parents taught her differs from the one used by her childhood friends.
sexuality — Pansexual. Her sexuality seeks personality more than anything else. She’s attracted to all those with a fire within, who inspire her to be worse, who make her laugh, who have something to say. Obsessive yet easy-going, she falls in love quickly and gives up hard. Whatever makes her heart beat change has claim over the said heart forever.
patronus — The memories she has lived are sprinkled with sheer happiness. Getting drunk and swimming in the Black Lake at midnight, winning the Inter-House Quidditch Cup while being Captain, getting a hundred galleons at the lottery all made her smile spread all the way to her ears, but nothing filled her whole heart with joy. She hasn’t even properly lived, in her opinion. Casting a patronus is a sensitive subject for a witch who always wanted to be first at everything, but finds it difficult to convert happiness into magic. However, if she were able to conjure a patronus, it would undoubtedly be a winged horse, namely an Abraxan Winged Horse. Abraxan Winged Horse - A breed of winged horse, gigantic in size and extremely powerful. They are selective eaters and usually require forceful handling. As a Patronus, they represent power, determination, and a free spirit.
boggart — This would be easier. In the past years, she ran on fear rather than happiness as fuel. These days, it would definitely be her father returned from Azkaban. She fears what life path he desires for her. She fears that disappointed look on his face when he notices her disgust for everything the war and the Dark Lord stand for. She fears the mental image of him destroyed by a soul-shattering prison, and, in few words, she fears him no matter if he dies in Azkaban, if he returns to make a Death Eater out of her again or if he returns to kill her for treason.
IC In Depth
personality traits —
(ambitious:) While other people have hobbies and interests, Emma’s only passion is overachieving. She became Quidditch team Captain seeking a title to differentiate herself from her mates. She learned to throw a Quaffle because someone implied she couldn’t, in the first place. Her collection of diplomas, piled up like fallen leaves in autumn, doesn’t matter for anything but her own ego, entirely fed by a lifetime of chasing after small prizes and insignificant victories. Nothing attracts her like winning, like coming on top, whether it’s about schoolwork, about silly bets or her own life choices. She has done questionable things to land on top before, only out of pride. Despite being passive in matters of blood purity and being too comfortable to actually want to fight a war (especially on the losing side), her ambition served as sole motivation to keep going, following her father’s wish to fight for the Dark Lord and make something out of a family name that hasn’t sat next to something worthy of pride in too long.
(fickle:) Easily convinced to doubt even the steps she takes on the ground, she questions everything, all the more herself, and is ready to turn on her heels and walk in the other direction at the first glare from someone else. Persuasion has her mind on strings, toying with it at free will, and Emma wouldn’t even notice, under the spell of every person who influences her in any way. Encouraged by peer pressure and naturally inclined to struggle until everyone liked her, she is often remembered by her worst, most impulsive decisions, executed because someone thought it would be funny. More importantly, her father’s aspirations for her left a permanent mark on her forearm, and she had no power fighting that decision.
(free-spirited:) While taking every piece of advice religiously, worrying that everyone’s mind but her own saw bigger truths that she was missing, she loves being in charge of her afternoons. She doesn’t want to be told what to do — not out loud and not consciously — because the peace and the quiet are her most comfortable state of being. She craves adventures and untied, tangled hair, spontaneous dips in stranger lakes and kisses from people she doesn’t know the name of. She despises cages and has a predisposition towards flying — be it on a broom or her favorite winged horse. Emma seldom knows what to do, what path to take and whether to trust her own mind or not — but she would rather cope with her uncertainties without having so many questions to answer and so many responsibilities no one ever wished for.
(chaotic:) An agitated daughter turned into a radioactive teenager turned into a messy young adult. Emma doesn’t know how to stand still, like she doesn’t know the first thing about order and stability. She learned how to run long before she could walk, and that shows in her behavior everyday. Wrong decisions made in the spur of the moment tie with some sort of natural, charming clumsiness — and these describe her to the last comma. She talks too much and most of her sentences don’t have an ending, because she never stops spinning infinitive ideas back and forth in her mind.
character biography —
Perhaps out of lack of blue blood in her veins, Emma never quite fit in according to the pureblooded standards. Her mother was thought to give birth to a boy up until the first time Emma opened her eyes for the first time towards the world. Due to health complications, it was said that she would never give birth again, let alone to a son.  It took his father a bit to adjust and accept the imminence of not having a heir to pass on quite everything to, but he never loved Emma any less. He couldn’t have his own blood even if it spat in his face — but Emma wouldn’t gamble on that. The toddler with curious eyes never cried a day, with a childhood surrounded by majestic winged horses and an aunt that sang in the Leaky Cauldron, surrounded by pinkness and a loving family that, despite being preoccupied by tradition, never resented Emma for simply being born.
And so the child who tripped in ballet classes and couldn’t remember the word for anything, having to ask her mother, grew taller and taller everyday, as if warmth alone lifted her up. Despite not being a skilled pianist or a talented dancer, she excelled in the third most pureblooded occupation there was. When on a horse, nothing stopped her. Emma would often be scolded by a worried mother or by a half-amused father for speed, but she agreed she’d never slow down. Every chance to hop on a winged horse and ride was a chance to exceed her last speed record, and so she became competitive — by being in constant competition with herself.
Terrified to go to Hogwarts, as she feared she has never slept before without her mother’s daily kiss on her forehead, she learned that she loves large amounts of company quite soon. She would talk and talk for hours if she had someone to talk to, and strangers were her favorite interlocutors. For that, she made both friends and enemies, those who liked her guts and humor not necessarily exceeding those who wouldn’t find anyone more annoying than Emma Vanity. Still, her priority has always been to have fun, and her friends were grateful to have around someone as lovely, gullible and foolish as her. Quidditch was her biggest achievement, despite being a sport she didn’t have a passion for particularly. It just mirrored horse-riding enough to make her not miss home so much, so often. And the fact that it implied the biggest competition Hogwarts had to offer interested her even more. She became a Captain in her third year and was known not for being the most talented player rather the one who would never give up.
When the child with curious eyes turned into the teenager with desperate eyes, it was as if nothing could stop her anymore. Driven by endless ambition and no drop of shame, she was the only girl in her year who treated boys she liked as if they were the girl. Norms have never applied to her and she decided it was best if the boys feared her instead of the other way around. Never did Emma hesitate before asking somebody out on a Hogsmeade trip, but, for that, she encountered with a fair amount of rejection. Emma was unlike the rest of the pureblooded girls  —  not delicate, not sheepish, not elegant, not mannered  — and she was unlike the other girls, but somewhere in the middle, she was sweet; like corn instead of candy. She didn’t fear labels from jealous wixen, she would argue with anyone spreading rumors… or even telling the truth about her, and conflict was never something she shuddered at the thought of. Until her father’s opinions concerning her became a problem.
Upon finishing school, she had no direction. Hogwarts, her friends, her team and even the dramas have been the entirety of her life for years, and now she didn’t want to become an adult. Yet, Mr. Vanity had big hopes regarding his daughter. As a supporter of Voldemort who didn’t stand out in any way: not being rich enough, not respected enough and certainly not having the strongest wand, he wanted to do anything to get in the Dark Lord’s good graces and it did flatter Emma that he immediately considered enrolling her. Except for the fact that Emma never wanted to fight to begin with. The cause itself preoccupied her less, even though something in her chest made her feel as if it wasn’t exactly right. Still, she complied with half a heart, only out of fear not to let down her father, who never wronged her in any way despite having many reasons to treat her as harshly as other fathers treated kids her age.
It was a relief when the Dark Lord vanished, and she was ready to take it without questioning whether it is a good or permanent thing. The only thing that mattered was that she was no longer a toy in somebody’s big hands and that the strings got cut off entirely. Her tattoo bothered her, but not enough to stop her from living a life filled with things that used to bring her joy before. It was going to take a while to rediscover them, but she was hopeful, for the first time. But that was before the aurors knocked on their door to arrest his father, letting her think she would be next. That didn’t happen, but the thought of her own father sitting blankly in an Azkaban cell made her skin itch and her head ache. She wanted him saved, but at the same time, she wanted her freedom too. Out of lack of skills regarding solving inner conflicts, she decided not to think much about that one. Still, even now that her wings are untied, she doesn’t know what to do with that freedom in the slightest.
plot ideas —
i. BLACKMAIL. People know of the mark underneath her robes. The long sleeves aren’t fooling anyone and the summertime catches her too distracted and entertained not to strip to skin with every occasion. Therefore, her prior alliance isn’t a whisper on a dark street, rather than the bitter truth she still didn’t gather up courage to swallow. The blackmail would have more to do with her official betrayal. Maybe she slipped in front of another Death Eater and confessed what is in her heart regarding the Dark Lord and her father’s say in her involvement, maybe someone observant enough read straight through her. What’s certain is that someone is using her weakness to threaten her into imminent death for her unofficial betrayal. Whether she knows this person’s identity or not, it’s open to interpretations.
ii. SPEAK NOW. It’s implied that Emma and Reginald, Mary’s husband, were romantically involved. Even if this were completely one-sided and if Emma was the only one to grow feelings for the other young man, it’s irrelevant in light of how she sees it. She sees it as a love story, beginning, middle and ending. No amount of cold water would help her wake up from the delusion that her friend — her good friend — led her on. The news about Reg’s marriage to Mary came in like a hurricane. Despite all that, it felt like a masterful idea at the time to interrupt their ceremony and voice her concern. She made a fool out of herself for this impulsive moment of unasked for truth. People still whisper about crazy Emma to this day and no hole is deep enough for her to hide whenever that particular memory resurfaces, but she’s learned to live with all of her collection of mistakes, no matter how sharp they still dig into their mind.
iii. PARTY GIRLS DON’T GET HURT. No one can brag about as many blunders as Emma, and her Hogwarts times are the golden ages of that. With a tendency to be the target of everyone’s laughter, it would only make sense that people in her generation wouldn’t think too highly of her, still remembering the girl who always tripped over her own feet after a couple of butterbeers. This plot bunny includes both people she used to be good friends with (but since adolescence is not a light summer’s breeze, they would have either fought passionately or fallen apart) and people who can’t help but scoff at the mention of her name. She wouldn’t necessarily be popular, but, as a dramatic and social person, it would only be natural that she made both pals and enemies at the age of sixteen.
iv. THE CLOAKED MEN. With a history of being on the wrong side of the previous war, aurors panic the hell out of Emma. She avoids them as if she has something to hide, but truth is, she just doesn’t want to end up where her father is. I would like a suspicious auror to seek her company purposefully and make her nervous in hopes of maybe learning something new about the Death Eaters. Getting under Emma Vanity’s skin is easier than ever when she is sweating and trying to nervously smile through that.
v. REDEMPTION. Maybe someone wants to fool Emma (see: possibly linked with the fourth plot bunny as well), maybe they want her to be well. What’s for sure is that someone is suddenly dragging her towards the light side — and she swings in between certainties without appearing to make up her mind any time soon. The promise of a clean future and better, less scary company is difficult to weigh in when, on the other side, her father’s disapproving eyes blink, in a frown, at her.

Welcome home (once again), we’re so excited to have you join the family!
OOC
name — raluca age — 20, but i’m turning 21 on the 15th of july pronouns — she/her/hers timezone — gmt+2
IC Overview
name — Vanity, Emma faceclaim — Lily James  age — 25 gender — Cis-female.
The promise of a clean future and better, less scary company is difficult to weigh in when, on the other side, her father’s disapproving eyes blink, in a frown, at her.
extra — I just feel like these grow from muse. I like doing edits (albeit not currently owning photoshop since I just bought a new laptop and don’t have anything on it), I think in songs and nothing’s as inspirational as a good quote, but forcing it would mean ruining it. But worry not, I will post, without spamming, plenty of those if I do get accepted.

Laundry Day (Koo Junhoe x Reader Oneshot)
Tumblr media
It’s just one of those days.
The weather’s nice for once, after a week-long cold spell. Everyone seems keen on spending time outdoors: picnics at the park, a long hike, an al fresco brunch at the corner café.
Everyone, it seems, except you. Because laundry day.
If you ever win the lottery - which will never happen because you never buy a ticket (and even if you did buy a ticket, John Oliver once said the chances of winning the lottery are as slim as you getting struck by lightning for the second time in the same place while being eaten by a shark) – your only extravagant spending would be to shop for clothes every week, wear them once and discard them, so you never have to do laundry ever again.
Of course, by then you can probably just hire someone to do the laundry for you, among other adulting things like doing dishes and cleaning your apartment. That would be a good way to spend your lottery winnings.
The thing is, at this particular moment, you don’t even really need to win the lottery to avoid doing laundry. On this lovely day, for instance, you could’ve just driven to your parents’ house, and your mom would’ve gladly taken your dirty clothes for her to wash because she likes to think you’re still her baby who needs her to do the laundry. You probably would’ve been treated to a delicious breakfast free-of-charge too.
But noooo. Because you’re so keen on proving to your parents that you’re already getting used to this whole living on your own, adulting thing, you stubbornly trudged to the laundromat this morning in your ugliest pair of sweatpants and rattiest shirt (they were the only clean clothes you had left) to do your own laundry. Even if it’s literally the last thing you want to do today.
“Am I supposed to separate the shirts and the pants?” a voice next to you says, to no one in particular, because the boy who said it seems to be talking to himself while looking at the clothes in his hands, a white shirt in one, black track pants on the other. His thick brows are furrowed in confusion, like hairy caterpillars headbutting each other at the center of his forehead.
He must’ve felt you staring at him because he suddenly jerks his head up and turns to you. He blinks once, twice, looking lost.
“Umm, you need to separate your white clothes from the other colors.”
“It doesn’t matter if they’re tops or bottoms?”
“Nope.”
“Hmm.” Lost Boy puts all his white clothes in one machine and the others in the machine next to it. “Good thing I only have black or white clothes,” he murmurs to himself.
“Hey, what am I supposed to do with this?” he turns to you again, this time with a pair of bright red boxers in his hand.
“Umm, wash it?” You tell him, looking away. It’s not that you’re a prude or anything, but it’s not every day that you have random guys just showing you their dirty underwear.
“Yeah, but do I need to put it in a new machine? It’s the only thing I have that’s red.”
Is this guy being serious? Does he really not know how laundry works? “You can mix it in with your black clothes, it’s fine.”
“Oh. Hmm.” Lost Boy grunts in acknowledgement before turning to his laundry again.
You almost want to move machines, far enough away from Lost Boy to ensure no more sightings of his underwear, but you’ve already put all your clothes in the washer, so you shut the door and start the cycle. In the corner of your eye, you see Lost Boy watching what you’re doing and doing the same thing. You pointedly ignore him, walking past him without making eye contact as you sit on a bench across the machines and start reading the book you brought with you to while the time away.
To your horror, he sits right next to you. The laundromat is literally empty except for the two of you and there are so many benches around that he can have all to himself, but he decides to sit next to you.
The weather is nice out, you don’t have work today, yet you’re stuck indoors, doing your most hated chore, with the weirdest boy ever.
“I’m Junhoe by the way. Thanks for the help,” Lost Boy says, extending a hand for you to shake.  “You probably think I’m super dumb. Can’t even do a bunch of laundry. It’s just this whole adulting thing is new to me, you know? I haven’t been on my own for very long.”
He smiles shyly, and you can’t help but notice the way it spreads to his entire face, his eyes turning into crescents and his cheeks lifting. He ruffles his dark hair and shrugs, fixing the way his shirt falls on his shoulders.
Maybe his candidness softens you up a little bit. Maybe you find a kindred spirit in him with his misadventures into adulting. You start to think that maybe you judged him a little too quickly.
“Can’t blame you. Living on your own is not easy. And I’ve been doing it a couple of years,” you assure him.
“Right? It’s like when you were playing house as a kid, except there’s nothing fun about it. I don’t know how to cook, so I keep burning everything – “
“I hate washing dishes.”
“Taking out the trash is a nightmare.”
“Cleaning the toilet is horrific.”
“The toilet! Oh that is the worst. Worst thing ever.”
After your litany of common complaints you lock eyes and can’t help but laugh at how whiney you’ve both become.
“Doing laundry is the actual worst though. So boring,” you say before you turn back to your book.
“Hmm. I don’t know. I think it has its charms,” he says, and when you look up from your book to look at him, he’s looking right back at you with his puppy dog eyes and a goofy smile on his face.
Well.
Your little staring contest is interrupted by the beeps of the washing machines, and somehow it feels like a spell has been broken. You both stand up to collect your clothes. But as soon as you open the door to your washing machine, it hits you.
You forgot to put detergent before you started the cycle.
You bury your face in your hands and sigh loudly in frustration.
“A-are you okay?” Junhoe asks.
“Yeah, I’m fine. It’s nothing. I just forgot to put detergent in the machine so now I have to start over again. I’m so stupid.”
Resolved to your fate of being stuck in this laundromat for the entire day, you’re about to get detergent when Junhoe opens the door to his machine, steps back, and scratches his head.
“Would you look at that. I forgot to put detergent in my machine too.” He turns to you with the brightest smile you’ve ever seen, as if he’s won the lottery instead of having been sentenced to another eternity of waiting for a laundry cycle to finish.
Maybe his smile, however misplaced, cheers you up a little bit. Maybe the thought that at least you still get to spend time with him makes you feel a little better about your little mistake.
You both end up getting detergent and starting the cycles on your machines again. In a parallel universe where you’re just as absentminded but without this weird, Lost Boy Junhoe around, this would’ve been the worst day. But because he’s here, maybe it isn’t so bad.
“So hey, do you wanna grab a bite to eat or something? While we wait for the laundry and all,” Junhoe asks you all of a sudden.
“We’re not supposed to leave our laundry unattended.”
“There’s no one in attendance to witness us leaving our laundry unattended. Come on, it’s such a nice day! We can sit outside at the café and share a pie or something.” He smiles that megawatt smile of his again, and you realize he has the kind of smile and stare that will make it nearly impossible for anyone to say no to him.
So naturally, you say yes.
“It’s a good thing you suck at doing laundry like me,” you tell him as you walk out of the laundromat to head for the café. “I mean what are the chances of both of us forgetting to put detergent in?”
“I know. It’s like the universe is trying to tell us something,” he teases with a knowing grin.
    *****
Junhoe opens the door of the laundromat for her. He’s not entirely sure what drew him to her from the very beginning. Maybe it’s the fact that she’s wearing a plain white shirt and black track pants almost identical to his. Maybe it’s the way she was humming a tune to herself when she thought there was no one else at the laundromat with her. Maybe it’s the amount of patience she demonstrated when he asked her all those stupid questions. Maybe it was the cute way she puffed her cheeks and pouted when she realized the mistake she made with the laundry.
Good thing he accidentally-on-purpose made the same mistake she did.
Once he’s back in Seoul, he’s definitely telling Chanwoo this story – if you ever want to meet a girl, forget to put detergent in the machine with your laundry.

Virginia: 2018-19 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Champions
Tumblr media
MINNEAPOLIS -- Now that, Virginia, is the way to close out a season.
And quiet those critics, too.
Led by De'Andre Hunter and his NBA-ready game, the Cavaliers turned themselves into national champions Monday night, holding off tenacious, ferocious Texas Tech for an 85-77 overtime win -- a scintillating victory that came 388 days after a crushing setback that might have sunk a lesser team for years.
But Virginia was better than that.
A season after becoming the first No. 1 seed to lose to a 16 -- the one thing that had never happened in a tournament where anything can -- the Cavaliers watched a 10-point lead turn into a 3-point deficit before Hunter came to the rescue. The sophomore made the game-tying 3 with 12 seconds left in regulation, then made another with just over two minutes left in the extra period to give the Cavs the lead for good.
"Surreal," Hunter called it. "It's a goal we started out with at the beginning of the season. We knew we were going to bounce back from last year. We achieved our dreams."
After going without a field goal for the first 18 1/2 minutes, Hunter finished with a career-high 27 points, and if he leaves as a lottery pick -- well, what a way to go.
He helped the Cavs bring home the first NCAA title for a program with a colorful, star-crossed and, now, very winning history.
Ralph Sampson was in the house, and now it's possible that Sampson and the name "Chaminade" won't be at the top of Virginia's resume anymore.
Or "University of Maryland-Baltimore County." That was the No. 16 seed that stunned the Cavs in the first round last year, its playful social media manager online Monday night tweeting congratulations shortly after the final buzzer. Hunter missed that game with a broken wrist, but nobody thought they'd miss him THAT much.
Each of Virginia's 34 wins leading to the final, and each of its scant three losses, was punctuated by the reminder that only the end result would serve as the ultimate report card on whether the Cavs could truly shed the baggage of last year.
What a ride this was.
A 1 seed once again, they fell behind by 14 early to 16th-seeded Gardner-Webb in this year's opening round, and a nightmare seemed to be repeating itself. But this time, they overcame it. Then, they beat Purdue in the Elite Eight when the game looked lost, and did the same against Auburn on Saturday -- getting bailed out by a foul call and Kyle Guy's three free throws with 0.6 seconds left.
"I told them, I just want a chance at a title fight one day," Virginia coach Tony Bennett said. "That's all I want. ... You're never alone in the hills and the valleys we faced in the last year."
Hunter's key 3 in OT gave Virginia a 75-73 lead, and after the teams traded possessions, Tech guard Davide Moretti scrambled after a loose ball heading onto Virginia's end of the court. It appeared it would be Texas Tech ball, but a replay showed Moretti's pinkie finger had barely scraped the ball. Virginia got possession, and worked the ball into Ty Jerome, who got fouled and made two free throws.
Brandone Francis missed a 3 on the other end, and Virginia pulled away -- the first time this game felt remotely comfortable, even after Guy made a 3 to give the Cavs a 10-point lead with 10:22 left in regulation.
Guy is not Virginia's only clutch free-throw shooter, by the way. The Cavs went 12 for 12 from the line in overtime to ice this game. They scored the game's final 11 points.
As for the Red Raiders (31-7), well, what can you say?
The team full of overlooked grinders refused to quit.
They fell behind by 10 twice in this game -- seemingly too much in a matchup between two legendary defenses that allowed way more than the total of 118 points predicted by sportsbooks -- but just kept coming back.
Jarrett Culver, also lottery-pick material, made a spinning left-handed layup over Hunter with 35 seconds left in regulation to put the Red Raiders ahead 66-65. After Jerome missed a teardrop on the other end, Norense Odiase got fouled and made two free throws to make it 68-65.
The nation's best defense couldn't afford to give up a 3, but Jerome skipped a pass to Hunter, who was open on the wing -- and spotted up and drained it. Culver missed a 3 with Guy in his face with a second left, and we were headed to overtime, the first extra session in the final since Kansas beat Memphis in 2008.
"In terms of my guys, I've never been more proud," Red Raiders coach Chris Beard said. "This is real life. We'll bounce back."
The last five minutes of regulation and the OT featured several one-on-one matchups between the two NBA-bound stars, and Hunter came out the winner. He finished 8 for 16 after an 0-for-7 start. Culver, who stayed in his hometown of Lubbock to see how far he could take Tech, went 5 for 22 for 15 points, continuing a cold-shooting Final Four; he went 8 for 34 over the weekend.
Both will likely move on to the NBA. Hunter will go there with a title.
And somebody on Virginia ought to grab that sign.
In the stands, a fan made a cardboard sign with the capital letters "UMBC" running vertically, and this spelled out after each letter:
"Uva."
"Makes."
"Big."
"Comeback."
The Cavs couldn't have written it any better themselves.
