DRDT - Milgram AU: T1 "Voice Reveal" Lines

Hey there! Back at it with this AU. I figured if I'm going to commit to the bit, I might as well commit fully. At the start of every Trial, Milgram gives a sneak peak at some of the lines which will appear in the VDs, combined with "glitchy" lines which relate to their murder. So I'm doing that too! Keep in mind this is not professional in the slightest, so exact wording might change between now and when I actually post the VDs. Especially since it's been a while since I rewatched DRDT so the wording could feel a bit off. Anyways, here we go!

Introducing my Chosen One, Meenam of Arroyo, A.K.A. Ruby. She's 6'2 or 188cm. Simply put, Meenam is a curious 36-year-old. She's excited to explore life beyond the bridge and huts of Arroyo, and to find her son, Myron. She's an extremely motherly and caring person, mothering anyone she can. Albeit, she can be too enthusiastic at the prospect of discovering new information and a bit too kind at points. Her polite and friendly demeanour make her an extremely charismatic person, on top of her motherly charm. On the quest to find the G.E.C.K to save Arroyo, she finds him and is disappointed. Now trying to save the world from the enclave and save her son from the path he's going down. Her tag skills are Science, Speech and Melee and has the traits of Gifted and Heavy Handed. Meenam's party consists of Sulik, Vic, Myron, Lenny and Marcus. Later on with Lenny, Vic, Myron, Sulik and Goris Her weapon of choice is a ripper, as she is bad with guns.

Meenam, (or Ruby to those outside of Arroyo, aren't tribal or aren't close to her) is 35, born in 2206. She is the granddaughter of my Vault Dweller, Tina, and the mother of Myron (yes, that snot-nosed cunt). Along with these, she's Arroyo's Chosen One. Meenam was born during the time when the Elder, her mother, was very anti-technology, as the VD would often tell her horrors of FEV and other horrors. While she was trained in science and Maths, much to the reluctance of the Elder, she was mostly interested in outside. Resulting in her having a strong bond with Vic and other traders, who would also bring her books about science and technology. Meenam's scientific interest mostly focused on FEV.

When she was 19, a new Caraveneer approached the village, bringing along with her later lover, Dallas. Dallas was raised in Vault City or NCR, I have not decided. They hit off and developed a strong bond, Dallas telling her all sorts of stories about the Vaults he visited. The Elder didn't really like Dallas, as Tina, warned her about men who come to less developed or poorer settlements to get an obedient wife, men both of had to deal with before. The Elder also felt like Dallas was a pushover, often letting others influence him easily and barely resisting.

In the same year (2224), she fell pregnant with a baby Myron, Dallas was enthusiastic and overjoyed, however, pressure from his parents and family was mounting which only got worse postpartum. Meenam was insistent on getting married, however, Dallas was putting it off. Eventually, they were due to get married in 2229. As the years pass, Dallas is convinced more and more by his family to take Myron and run away ""to give him a better chance at life"". Dallas continues to debate this before elected to do it due to the amount of pressure, finally making up his mind before ""sealing their fate.""

In the Spring, on the day of the wedding under the cover of a Dark dawn, Dallas takes Myron away under the guise of ""showing him the spirits of the night sky"". They are never seen again. Meenam mourns the loss of her husband and child. Life goes on, but she still thinks about them every day and hope they return. Meenam wants to find them, however, she must stay to train to become the next elder. With the droughts and the holy mission, she is somewhat excited that she can go out, excited to find her baby boy and husband despite it being 12 years.

After freeing Sulik and Vic, Joining with Lenny and Marcus, she finally makes it to New Reno. After hearing rumours of this 'Jet' and seeing its effects in the wasteland, she is mortified after hearing about the "Mordino's Golden Goose," Myron. She prays to whatever spirit that'll listen that it's not her Myron and just a random guy called Myron,

Unfortunately. It's her son, Myron. And also fortunately, it's her son Myron, they've been reunited.

Myron is absolutely shocked at what happened and is feeling all sorts of emotions. Anger, sadness, shock and most of all betrayal. He's now 17, and he last saw her when he was 5, being tucked in for the last time. Meenam has to fight back tears and swallow everything, she feels so much regret and desperation, and she just wants her son back. After laying onto too much motherly affection to hide the diguist and disdain, she nearly blows her shot; Myron wants her to leave and never return: he absolutely hates her. She manages to convince him that they can work together to at least begin to cure Jet, after impressing him with her knowledge of chemistry.

Finally, she managed to convince him to tag along. Meenam drags him from place to place, getting him to fix the damages he's done and apologise, while he eventually warms up and opens up to her. For the months that follow, they reconnect and have a mother-son relationship they both wanted. Hoping that her quest to find the G.E.C.K and later save the world manages to beat some goodness and remorse into him, and she's successful. Myron ends up changed for the better, but he still has work to do at the end.

Just some stuff I hope gets explained by mahiru's trial this season, and some theories I hope get confirmed

-confirmation that Mahiru is has toxic positivity issues and often puts up a front for the issues in her relationship

Throughout like all of my theories about mahiru there's a few consistencies and its that Mahiru covers up the issues in her relationship using the idea that "it's just love!" Alot. Like your boyfriend drinking himself nearly unconscious on the first bar date? Well he's cute when he's drunk so it's fine.

Getting yelled and your feelings hurt? Well love is pain so it's all fine and dandy.

He's getting upset by your late night calls? Well you're only doing it cause you love and wanna spend time with him!

Alot of the lyrics feel like they're trying to hide Mahiru being upset in the relationship behind a sense of toxic positivity, and how her own traits (like "Giving you love to the point it pulls you down") are also excused under the guise it's love, though deep down she knows it's bad ("I wanted to be a good girl but I don't wanna say I'm Ok!", "this sickness is pretty bad", ect)

-confirmation mahiru resents her boyfriend

Mahiru barely mentions him, and in her mv he's barely shown except for when he's giving her coffee. Mahiru's whole thing is about giving and taking, and receiportical relationships so the fact he's only shown when he's giving her something and he's only shown once feels like it's trying to imply something. Plus the lyrics in her song I love you, "I don't care about trouble" is more accurately "I don't care if its annoying".

It feels like she's responding to someone calling her annoying, this could be a callout to us but also possibly her boyfriend as well. Especially with lyrics talking about how he gets bothered by her.

We also hear in the s2 teaser movie Mahiru screaming at someone (presumably her boyfriend) not to say they love her. So like, what the fuck happened there.

-confirmation on what happened on day 12

I see alot of people handwave away what happened on day 12 and it bothers me cause simple anxiety shouldn't be enough to forget an entire day and also be too nervous to eat for the entire day either. Also after day 12 is when the glitched text appears, so it clearly marks a shift in mahiru's mental state from there onwards. Also the scene of mahiru longingly starring out of the birdcage happens afterwards as well.

-Confirmation they were dating

Idk I just feel like an stalking story is too black and white, like even if they establish its because of delusion people would still be very biased against her (especially since stalker theory relies on the idea mahiru is a dangerous mentally ill person or whatever). Them dating and being in a toxic relationship is more of moral dillema.

-explain exactly what drove Mahiru's boyfriend to suicide

This is probably just me but I wouldn't jump to suicide if I was in a relationship where I would be able to leave since I'm not married. And if she was a stalker, then why wouldn't he contact the cops at least once? Idk I just feel like something else must have gone down to drive him to suicide or death I think.

It's still up in the air if it's suicide or not, and while I lean towards suicide I'd like to finally know what went down

Ok guys I had a busy day but managed to watch the anime rn and OH GOOOOD THAT WAS SO FUCKING COOL‼️‼️ I'm gonna be breaking it down cause oh my god. Spoilers ahead ofc

CGI parts - Oh they ATE here!!! I was absolutely worried about the CGI even if it looked cool on the trailer. They tend to look SCARY or just goofy. But THEY ABSOLUTELY DEVOURED HERE??? The little Bae song in the beginning was really good on its own but the CGI made it 10x better, the phantom illusions look really cool and actually blend together pretty well despise them being really different. Allen's phoenix kept stealing the spotlight tho😭😭. I'm really happy about them still using their existing songs instead of a brand new soundtrack like some franchises do (side eye-ing hypmic), when bang started playing I was genuinely so happy. And now I'm really looking forward to see if they animate some of my faves like Rowdiez, 4 real or Back off plsplsplspls. My finish thoughts here are: This outsold, and if we get a game with the same sort of cgi I would be so so SO happy.

Music! - They had that new Bae song, Rise Up, in the first few seconds. I dare to say it's one of the best I've heard from Bae even if it was just a little part, looking forward to a full release!! I also noticed various instrumentals playing in the bg as they introduced the groups. I was expecting to hear their songs from op show but was surprised to hear songs from random stage battle rounds. Akyr with Outsiderz, Czmz with Ain't no love and Tcw with Faith. That was a pretty cool detail ngl.... I hope to see some new songs for the others apart from Bae. That'd be pretty nice

Characters - Oh they made some intense Bae worldbuilding. We already had a pretty good grasp of their dynamic but they summarized them so well to the newcomers in just a chapter; Allen being hip-hop pilled and a bit goofy, Hajun smiley wangja, Anne in the middle messing with them both. I also really liked the detail of them being in a series of casual clothing, cause imagining everyone having to wear the amount of clothes they wear on stage on a regular basis was seriously hurting my brain. They had various outfit changes and I LOVE that. Good for the animators and charac designers cause having 3 outfit changes for Bae in a single ep was probably a hassle😭😭

Now the negative part.

Story - It is a story indeed!! Ngl, I don't like that paradevi creature at all. It's like a weird vtuber model of MikoshibaKen's fursona (THE VIBES AND COLORS ARE GIVING KENTA). I think it's pretty good for the older fans cause we already know everything, but newcomers would be really lost tbh. They speedran the beginning and gave a really quick context for Buraikan and Club Paradox cause they're only having 12 eps, I get it, but it'll still be confusing I bet. And not being able to see the context of how everyone got the invitation fully fledged out like in the VD, they missed the chance of some key characterization SPECIALLY for the twins. I think akyr and tcw were pretty straightforward but skipping when Kanata was escaping the thugs feels outright criminal, they just showed them there watching the weird creature talk shit THEY MISSED A BIG CHANCE but I still get it. 12 eps. Still frustrates me. They made everything pretty Bae centred as well, which I get cause they're the main gang, but the good thing of Voice Dramas was not having a protag and always being able to see all the povs from all the characters instead of sticking to a single group, that allowed us to know and explore everyone and their traumas individually, and that's missing in this first ep. Maybe it gets better, maybe they're pulling a hypmic having every episode centred around a different group (pretty sure it's this), but so far I was like "oh god this is really confusing". We’re thinking of bringing the cast of #Smallville together for a super reunion weekend! Which Metropolis should our caped crusaders and supervillains come to? A. New Jersey B. Orlando C. Chicago Let us know what city you’d love to see them in!

Interesting... I wonder if 2023 showed them that Smallville was kinda worth the cost (vs casts like TW which don't seem to have been)? With SPN cons dwindling, I wonder if instead of trying to make SPN cons into J2 and friends or whatever they were trying, they are going to do this instead - see how Smallville does on its own? For one thing, the J2 and friends thing doesn't work because Jared isn't going to many anymore so it would be Jensen and friends... But this way they can still invite Jensen to the Smallville cons even if they end up cutting back on SPN cons in 2025. So basically if they cut back on SPN but add some Smallville, they can pretty much keep Jensen's con appearances to what he wants them to be (~12 CE cons a year) while still cutting back on no longer cost effective SPN cons.

Obviously this is all just speculation, but I thought it was interesting. They were clearly testing which actors (outside of SPN) would work to add going forward and it sounds like Smallville worked. But to me the most interesting part is them trying to break Smallville off into its own thing instead of trying to continue to merge it with the SPN cons like they claimed was their plan going forward. Either they think its more profitable on its own, or they are pre-emptively preparing for SPN cons to dwindle in the coming years and are trying to set up other avenues to continue getting income but also to keep Jensen with them for longer (they are already struggling without Jared, if they lose Jensen too that would be very bad for them).

Hmm... so they tested them out on the SPN tour and now CE's testing a Smallville con? You know, good for them. You're right, at least they're attempting to branch out. I don't know if it will be successful, but it's apparent they needed to do something besides banking on Vampire Diaries and SPN as their bread and butter.

The scenario you present of having Jensen go to Smallville cons is very interesting. Obviously, he's connected to the show, so it would be an option. Question is, could he put aside being the main headliner? Could CE even pay him as an extra headliner if they're already paying the Smallville leads? And if Smallville ends up being successful, while SPN is dropping off, would Creation just join the two (or even three with VD) and just do creatively-named CW cons with each show being highlighted on a specific day? I suppose there might be issues with the stars wanting the best day/panel times, but it might be where these conventions are heading in the future.

And all it takes is Jared saying he's no longer exclusive with CE. (Yeah, if Jensen dropped out, it would also signal the death of SPN cons, but Jared was the one that started the ball rolling, lol!)

Because I’m a nerd, I built a working clock in NeosVR.  Because I’m a Navy nerd, I made it ring the ship’s bell like a Bosun’s Mate.

Seafaring types (or fans of “The Terror” / “The Adventures of Horatio Hornblower” / “Master and Commander”) might get a kick out of it.

In the US and British Navies, the day was traditionally split into six four-hour watches, during which time different groups of Sailors would either be working, or sleeping, or resting (it’s called a “watch” because most people would be doing exactly that: serving as lookout, operating the ship’s wheel, or otherwise “watching” for something that needed a response). With few timepieces onboard (before the invention of the ship’s chronometer, the invention of which is a fascinating tale unto itself, and I recommend you read “Longitude” by Dava Sobell if you haven’t already), the crew would keep time with a half-hourglass and a bell.  Every half-hour, the Bosun’s Mate would ring the bell and reset the hourglass.  For example, starting at the first watch of the day (midnight to 4am):

Midnight: eight bells (start of the watch)

00:30: one bell

01:00: two bells

01:30: three bells

02:00: four bells

02:30: five bells

03:00: six bells

03:30: seven bells

04:00: eight bells, end of the watch, and time for watches to swap (or “turnover”, in Navy terms*).

* Though if you’re not a jerk, you’ll show up about 15 minutes early to let the off-going watch get you up to speed on what happened, and what you might expect, so that you’re ready to be “on” right on time.

The pattern of the ringing is as above: the bell is rung in pairs, with a pause in between pairs: “ding-ding...ding-ding” would be four bells.  Three would be: “ding-ding...ding” and so forth.  So as you’re working, you know that if the number of bells is odd, it’s the bottom of the hour, and if they’re even, it’s the top. Nowadays, in the US Navy at least, it’s common for ships to set different watch schedules (for example: 5 on, 5 off, 10 on, 10 off, also called “five-and-dimes”, which are kind of brutal, but some commands do 12-hour watches, which is also pretty hard.  There’s been some experimentation to adjust the time schedule so that people can get some decent rest, though, which is good.  It can be a challenge when you’re low on crew complement.  Anyway, I digress.).  But it’s still traditional for the Bosun’s Mate of the Watch (or “BMOOW”) to ring the ship’s bell over the announcing system (the “1MC”) every half-hour like this.

What is GAME TIME? - GAME TIMEs are designated play times to let players know when to jump on and just have some quick fun! Originally started around 2015-2016, ACL frequently ran these to help boost activity and help people find others to play with. These are typically hosted as Free Battle rooms

What makes this different from any other GAME TIME? - This slot was meant to cater to our EU playerbase, who can't always make it during normal US times. Also, we've invited a number of our EU veterans, which will give you the opportunity to experience a wider variety of play and skill.

Can non-EU players join? - Of course! As long as there's room, feel free to hop on with us.

What do I need to do to be a part? - As long as you have a PS3, a non-Japan copy of ACVD and an internet connection, nothing! Just jump on at the designated time and find the room. You can also add the host on PSN to make it easier to invite you in.

How do I get into the actual GAME TIME room? - On the main menu once you've logged into ACVD, go to Free Battle -> Player Match -> Custom Match -> hit OK and it will search for the room.

Help! I'm in the game and online but I can't find the room even when searching! - Free Battle rooms will only appear when a match is ongoing. If a Free Battle room has initiated, you will not be able to find it again until that match finishes. You can wait and try again after several moments, or use @ the host on any social media platform where GAME TIME is posted, or reach out to members in the ACD 5thgen channel to see if the room is still up.

How long are GAME TIME sessions? - GAME TIME sessions are typically 1 to 2 hours long. However, these rooms can extend past the official time period if there is interest and people stay on and active.

I don't have a PS3 or ACVD setup currently but I'd like to join future sessions. Do you have any resources I could use? - Yes! check out the tFV page, specifically the FAQ and Resource + Guides tab. Tiranga under attack by BJP, RSS, says Rahul

Facing desertion from the party and its sinking support base, the Congress on Wednesday launched its ambitious Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari, the land’s end at the southern tip of the country. 

At the launch of the yatra, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin handed over a Tiranga to senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who will lead the yatra over the next five months across 12 States, covering 23.5 kilometres every day. However, the yatra will not cover poll-bound Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, the two States that are going to the polls later this year.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Tamil Nadu’s Congress chief CD Meyyappan and a galaxy of stars from the Congress, were present on the occasion.

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, who is out of the country, in a message said, “In view of the medical check-ups that I am undergoing, I regret my inability to be with all of you in person this momentous evening to launch the historic Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. This is a landmark occasion for our great party with such a glorious legacy — the Indian National Congress. I am confident that our organisation will be rejuvenated.”

Outspoken party leader from Bihar Kanhaiya Kumar claimed the BJP’s 1990 Rath Yatra was for seeking “satta (power)”, but the Congress’ ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is for “satya (truth)”. Kumar, who has been classified as a ‘Bharat Yatri’ by the party and is slated to walk the entire 3,570-km distance of the Kanyakumari to Kashmir Yatra, said the Congress’ initiative is not solely political.

Asked about how this Yatra was different from the ones undertaken in the past such as the LK Advani-led Rath Yatra in 1990, Kanhaiya Kumar said, “That was a political yatra. That was for satta, this is for satya.” Advani’s Rath Yatra in 1990 had triggered a mass movement in support of building a Ram temple in Ayodhya which brought the BJP political dividends.

The yatras will be carried out in other states as ‘sub-yatras’ and will keep on moving northwards, passing through Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Nilambur, Mysuru, Bellary, Raichur, Vikarabad, Nanded, Jalgaon, Indore, Kota, Dausa, Alwar, Bulandshahr, Delhi, Ambala, Pathankot and Jammu, before culminating in Srinagar. Those participating in the yatra have been classified as “Bharat Yatris”, “Atithi Yatras”, “Pradesh Yatris” and “Volunteer Yatris”. The tagline of the yatra is “Mile Kadam, Jude Watan”.
