One of my favorite things of GoW 4 and 5 is tattoos.
GoW is one of the few games in which almost all characters have tattoos, BIG ones and in very visible places. The fact that the good guys (specially Atreus and Kratos being the protagonists) get to have badass looking tattoos is a huge step for destroying the stereotype of “tattoos = delinquent/bad”.
In most games the only characters having tattoos are usually the bad guys o simply just men.
But specially in GoW Ragnarök we get to see women having huge badass tatts (even facial ones on Angrboda). I absolutely love this. I’m a woman with several big tattoos (as you know I’ve Atreus neck runes tattoed) and I get a lot of comments saying “tattoos make women less feminine”. Seeing Sif being buffed, tattooed AND being so damn pretty and feminine proved that wrong! I just love it.
It was about damn time to normalize women being covered in tattoos and still being super feminine and cute!
(Ps: Thrud isn’t very feminine tbh but I dont care! She’s rocking those sleeves tatts I love her)
Blaziken tattoo from a while ago - healed lines and shading, with fresh shading in the flames. A good amount of time had elapsed between the first and last session, so we added some white highlights and a couple re-lines for some fresh contrast to finish it off.
Long time no post sorrrrrry. Been feeling very uninspired BUT!! I did practice a portrait tattoo for the first time and I just had to use my bbg as my subject matter 🥰 I learned A LOT and I’m slowly getting over my fear of shading with different needle groupings. Took me about 7 hours!
Hi friends! Haven’t posted on here in forever but I want to share my new resident evil tattoo!!! It’s the cerberus on one of the locked doors in resident evil 7 :D
Wanted to share with the community, so so happy with how it came out, big thank you to @ stinmaster on insta!!
A close friend of mine is a tattoo apprentice, and I've been letting her pick and choose what ideas I've had that she'd like to use as practice. We keep finding ourselves on the Majora's Mask arm.
The Fierce Deity sword was her second tattoo done on actual skin. It was done back in January of this year.
I plan on getting one more sword at least (wanted both guilded and fairy but both won't fit she thinks, so I lean toward fairy since its bigger than let her decide again when it's done?) and continuing to fill in the rest with small things, on my bicep will be Skull Kid and the Fierce Deity which is another thing I've had planned since I was young.
Majoras Mask and "Believe in your strengths" was done 10 years ago now. It was my second tattoo and I had it planned for many years. Looking at it now, I regret not getting it in the traditional game font, but at the time that was the very specific font I imagined it in for some reason.
My third official tattoo and I just had to get the Outsider's mark. I love the Dishonored series and I absolutely love the Outsider. But also this symbol is just so fucking cool so I committed and finally got it.
Surprisingly it wasn't that painful, except in very tiny spots. I am so happy though. Seeing my hand makes me smile because it's just so fucking cool UGH I'm so happy.
Finally got my first tattoo and it’s a Dragon Age inspired one! I wanted a Dalish Vallaslin inspired one but with my artist’s own unique twists! More heavily influenced by the Dirthamen (Inquisition) than Sylaise (Origins), I’m very happy with the results!
It was a little rough at times, even with a numbing cream. Apparently my body doesn’t handle adrenaline well and I had to step away after the first 10 mins. But after some juice and crackers and changing position, I sat the rest of the time with little to no problem, besides it being owie lol. My artist was very, very understanding and I’m super grateful for that. 3 hours!!
Not sure if I’m going to be jump right into another tat, this one took a lot!, but I’m glad I did it! Figured if I can only sit for one tat, might as well make it big and one that I wanted and liked!
I waited three years for this artist for a reason. KARLACH IS DONE! Eivor is next on session three. This has truly been a labor of love.
My artist shot video pre bandage ... once he posts that, I will share. His name is Justin Buduo, Studio 31 in Massachusetts. Absolutely insane talent and a good guy.
