Listen I do remember all the "Kidnapping plots allow women to fantasize about sex while having an excuse of it not being their choice therefore it not being something shameful" analysis, I really do, but my fucking god, straight girls, are you okay.
A second book in a row about the Beauty-and-the-Beast-esque confinement situation with a 'cold blooded and misunderstood' jerk who explicitly has power over her in every way. Is this just my luck or. WHY DO PEOPLE FIND THIS HOT?!

Maybe this might be shooting. Maybe some people won't like this post, but I'm going to say it anyway, without shame.
I’m sick of people who leave comments like "Why does Moonvale take so long? Game developer studio XY is so much faster than you. I'm annoyed! You're not caring about your fans!"
Well, maybe game developer studio XY just does not put as much effort into their game as Everbyte does. ;)

honestly you're doing amazing. i have a friend who got a whole ass degree, didn't,,, use it,,? and then now she's just getting?? another degree, i guess? in a completely different field?
she's worked part time and done a lot of it online (plus where she lives college is way less expensive) so it's not a financial disaster but yeah. a lot better to change halfway through than go the whole way through and still have the same problems you were having halfway!
i caught it pretty early so i was only, like, a couple of semesters down the pipeline before i realized that maybe i shouldn't sign myself up to do something that's making me miserable now for the next hundred years or so, but it's genuinely so insane how you can just like,,, be wrong about something as a teenager,,, and lose several thousand dollars and hundreds of hours of your life because of it. i'm honestly still having a lot of trouble wrapping my head around the idea of spending so much time essentially preparing to do something, but, y'know, there's not exactly a way around it so. uh. i'll be vibing i guess. maybe run into the woods and marry a lumberjack if i absolutely can't stand it, but we'll see.

Since I'm on a Regency kick and have now read several dozen books of varying quality in the genre, I thought maybe I was too hard on Julia Quinn when I read the first Bridgerton book because I had only been reading Georgette Heyer at the time. Tried re-reading it again. Nope. Still utterly execrable absolute bottom-of-the-barrell USAmericans-writing-Brits shite. Clearly written for idiots who hate the "historical" part of historical romance. If anything I was too generous the first time because I enjoyed the sex scenes. The best thing that can be said for that Netflix atrocity is that it perfectly reflects the source material. Kill it. Kill it with fire.

sometimes I look at the comments under those music edit audio compilation videos and go: “You aren’t real”
the comments are all the same every single one of them on every single video it’s gotta be just like one person under all these channels
why hasn’t someone done a deep dive on music edit audio compilation channels
NOT the music edit audio community itself but the people who collect the audios and put pictures of fucking I dunno generic (most likely ai generated now) anime character on top.
It feels like there’s so much more than what you see on the surface.
or maybe I’m just crazy which at this point I might be. just throwing it out there my gut feeling is telling me something’s up.

currently writing a report on the pilot episode of the bear for my screenwriting class which has been so much fun and i’ve made some fun new discoveries!!! i feel dumb for only just now realizing this but god the way this show uses music is even more effective than i initially even though because “new noise” by refused is immediately associated with carmy (and note that it never builds to the to the lyrical breakdown, there is no resolution or catharsis to the chaos) but then “old engine oil” by the budos band becomes associated with the beef/chicago as carmy lights up the stoves and then we get launched into a montage of chicago, baby pictures, and photos of chicago...literally NEW vs OLD...and the sound supervisors remix these two together TWICE during the pilot to signal carmy’s re-integration into the history of the beef/chicago (1. carmy beginning the morning prep 2. carmy telling everyone to try the new sandwiches) like!!! they used popular music as leitmotifs!!!

as of 4/24/23 there are 24,206 owl house fics and only 175 of them are tagged torture. meaning that only .07% of owl house fics are torture fics! smh. where are the giant 50k fis that are pure torture with extremely graphic descriptions and bare minium comfort. fic writers nowadays are too soft :////

its kinda baffling when game devs and companies absolutely refuse to not alienate the speedrunners and mod makers in their game's community by making their game's code as hostile to them as possible and reverting every bug that a speedrunner might use even if it's only something one in a hundred thousand casual gamers might find. skyrim would not be what it is now without mods.

"Don't worry, lass, we've made sure he's had plenty of rest today!" Wilhelm smiled lightly as he walked by, at which Randall blushed a little in embarrassment-it was true, his parents had fussed over him quite a bit, making sure that he had plenty of water and pain medication to keep the aches at bay, that he didn't strain himself too much as he helped around the house, that he was comfortable whenever he sat down, and so on. He appreciated their efforts, of course, but that didn't stop his cheeks from warming a little all the same.
"I'm alright," he reassured her, before lowering his voice a little as he took her hand, asking, "Are you alright?" He was sure this was very nerve-wracking, tonight's little get-together...even with his parents meaning well, wanting to clear the air between them all, he was sure it was not an entirely comfortable experience...
...but again, he knew what his parents plan was; he may not know all the details, true, but he had faith that tonight would go smoothly, and that by the end of the evening, their relationship would be at least on the mend. He would be there for it, and for her, every step of the way, something he made sure she knew with the squeeze he gave her hand.
