Help- trough this story I accidentally wrote ‘Millie’ and ‘Amelia’ as two different people, but they’re the same person because Millie is a nickname, so I had to rewrite sum scenes💀😭
also, sadly there isn't much Lloyd in here, mostly just y/n and friends, but no worries, next chapter will be Lloyd only.
I myself really hate this chapter, its badly written, some thing don’t really make sense, its just kinda.. idk I don’t like it but it’s long so I don’t want to rewrite it you know… also its been a while since I fed you guys a new chapter, sorry about that.
Your POV:
I yawned, covering my mouth with my hand as I put the last book I needed in my bag, standing in front of my locker. I took a quick glance in the mirror I had stuck to my locker door to check my hair and combed a quick hand trough it.
“You’re coming this evening too, right?” Amelia appeared by my side and I gave her a confused look, closing my locker.
“What’s this evening?” I asked, looking around at the others.
“Oh, party at Caleb’s house,” Flora informed. “Caleb Smith,” she clarified, before pointing a quick thumb at the boys who were watching a football game on Anthony’s phone. “They’re coming too,”
“Oh, yeah sure, I don’t have anything planned,” I agreed. “Most of the school coming I suppose?” I asked curiously and Flora shrugged.
“Well yes, but you can invite people if you want,” she explained, “I know that Charlie’s bringing one of his Basketball buddies and Arty’s invited a colleague from work,” she told me and I made an ‘o’ shape with my mouth.
“So it’s alright if I bring Lloyd along then?” I asked and she nodded along with Amelia.
“What, you’re bringing your boyfriend?” Charlie looked up. “As long as you two aren’t all over each other the whole time,” he pointed at me and I gave him a sceptical look and glanced down at the arm he had around Flora’s waist and then back at him.
“Right back at you,” I muttered and he quickly retracted the arm.
Flora hit his shoulder and glared at him. “She can bring her boyfriend and do couple stuff if she wants! It’s not like we aren’t,” she pointed out with a scowl and Charlie sheepishly rubbed the back of his head.
“Yeah, yeah right,” he stumbled over his words, “whatever, I don’t care,” he looked the other way and Millie laughed at him.
“You over protective little shit,” she giggled and he shot her a glare which she ignored, me and Flora joining in on the giggling.
“What’s going on here?” Luna appeared and Millie jumped into explaining what happened.
“Oh please, like you two weren’t making out on the couch while we where hanging out last week,” she said annoyed and Flora quickly looked the other way while Charles turned bright red.
———
Lloyd picked up almost immediately when I called him, I was walking out of the school with the girls as we where going to get ready together at my house.
“Sweetheart,” he said the moment he picked up. “What is it?” He asked, he sounded a bit out of breath.
“Hi, babe, I was wondering if you could make it to a party me and my friends are going to, it’s mostly just kids from school, might get late,” I jumped right to the point but was disappointed when I heard a sigh in the other side.
“Sorry, love, I have patrol this evening,” he apologised, making me already shake my head to the others and bite my lip in disappointment, just humming in acknowledgment. “I’ll see if I’m able to pop in later in the night, I suppose you’ll be there until late?”
I smiled lightly at the idea of him maybe showing up anyway. “Yeah, I think ill be there until maybe two,” I told him.
“Alright then, maybe I’ll join you. Otherwise I’ll make sure I’ll sleep at yours tonight,” he promised making my smile grow.
“Yes please, see you tonight then,” I said happily and heard him lightly chuckle.
“See you tonight, love you,” he said before hanging up the phone.
“So, he’s coming?” Luna asked and I shook my head.
“Just maybe later in the night,” I told them and Millie gave me a confused look.
“You hung up the phone as if you where sure he was coming though, you said ‘see you tonight’” she frowned a bit and I shrugged.
“He’s sleeping over at mine, so regardless of him being at the party or no, I’ll see him,” I explained, making Mills wiggle her eyebrows at me.
“Oh, he’s sleeping over,” she said suggestively making Luna giggle. “Any plans?” She asked, winking at me.
“Oh leave her alone, Lloyd and N/n should go at their own pace without you guys interfering,” Flora scolded with an amused smile.
“But we want to hear the stories of her getting laid!” Luna cried dramatically. “It’ll be her first time and I want to know, besides, we all know Lloyd is here to stay, so it has to happen sooner or later,” she insisted.
“Oh, please, let the girl have her innocence,” Flora waved it off while I just kept my mouth shut.
“N/n you’ve been awfully quiet,” Amelia pointed out and I just stared at the pavement with bright red cheeks. “Awe, don’t be embarrassed,” she giggled, putting an arm around me, but Luna halted.
“Y/n,” she said with a look of disbelief on her face, I avoided her eyes, pursing my lips. “Is there something you need to tell us?” She asked and I had trouble hiding my smile.
“No, no way!” Millie jumped up and down in excitement while Flora just squealed really loudly.
“I’ll tell you when we are in my room,” I mumbled with bright red cheeks and a smile, making them all cheer in happiness.
———
Flora laid giggling on my bedroom floor while Luna and Millie where watching me with open mouths from my closet, both looking for clothes they could borrow from me.
“I’m going to teach Charlie how to do that,” Flora decided trough her giggles and the next sound was a gagging noice from Amelia.
“Look, I get it, the tongue thing is hot, but to thought about you and Charlie- no, absolutely not,” she closed the closet door and we could hear Luna burst out laughing from behind it. Probably something Amelia had whispered.
“Once Mills gets a girlfriend, she’ll get us,” Flora told me making me chuckle and continue brushing my hair.
“Anyway, what happened next?” She asked making me playfully roll my eyes, but I continued anyway, Luna joining us now wearing one of my dresses.
“You love that dress don’t you?” I asked so the a smirk, having seen her wear it multiple times now.
“It’s just so pretty!” She insisted. It was a black sleeveless dress, it was tight at the top but had a flowy skirt that stopped at the knees. “Also, I love spinning in this thing, look,”
She didn’t quick spin and Flora wolf whistled while Luna giggled and did a quick bow.
“You can have it if you want, I’m pretty sure I don’t fit it anymore,” I turned around in my chair. “It was my favourite at some point, but my boobs got to big. But it looks amazing on you, you should have it,” I said and her eyes lit up immediately.
“N/n, I love you so much!” She squealed and quickly ran over to give me a hug, making me chuckle.
“Think of it as a thank you for buying cans of soda for me everyday,” I winked and she chuckled and hugged me again. It had kind of become a habbit for Luna to buy me soda everyday, because I always asked for it since she walked past the supermarket on her way to school. I paid her back with lunch at a cafe in town and presents such as this.
“Forget the dress, you where about to continue the story,” Flora whined and Lu and I shot her a look.
“Well, after… that, we kind of stopped, he helped me put on his shirt, then he quickly put on his boxers we cleaned up a bit and then we just cuddled until we fell asleep,” I explained. “It was really sweet, I was scared it was going to be awkward but it wasn’t at all,” I smiled down at the ground, playing with my fingers.
The girls awe’d and then Millie came bursting trough the door.
“He didn’t leave in the middle of the night right?” She asked, pointing a finger at me. “If he did I’m going to whoop his ass, he should’ve been there in the morning,” she insisted.
I awkwardly smiled, remembering the poor lad that ended up with a black eye when he had left Luna in the middle of the night. They had eventually talked about, he was just nervous.
Millie didn’t take any of his crap…
“No, he was there,” I reassured. “We talked and joked a bit in the morning and then he made breakfast for the two of us before going home again,”
Flora squealed and squeezed Luna’s hand, who had to pull away because it was starting to hurt.
“Yeah, he better,” Amelia nodded making the others laugh.
“What did you joke about?” Luna asked, walking over to have a quick look in the mirror and apply some makeup.
“Well, I complained about having to cover up the hickeys on my neck, and when he suggested that he wouldn’t do it again, I got flustered and mad and he just giggled and eventually I laughed along,” I explained to them.
“Hickeys on your neck? I don’t see any,” Millie pulled my hair aside and inspected it, making me give her a look and then she smirked in realisation. “Illusion?” She asked and I nodded, allowing for them to see it.
They all stared at me with shit eating grins and continued to tease me for the remaining of the time we got ready.
———
After that, we all finished up our makeup and hair before heading out the door, Malcolm being so kind to drive us to the party.
The girls thanked him when we arrived and I promised him to text him when we were done so he could pick us up and bring us home.
“Be safe!” He called after me and I smiled at him.
“We will!” I said before entering the driveway. My friends were waiting at the door, waiting for me before ringing the doorbell, we were a bit late but it seemed like there weren’t many people yet
“Finally,” Charlie gave us a look after he had opened the door. “Weve been waiting for ages,”
He then pulled Flora towards him, kissing her forehead. “You guys are late,” he gave Millie a pointed look, knowing that it probably was because she had to go to the bathroom last minutes and he was right.
“Sorry,” she grumbled. “When I have to go, I go,” she stated and then stuck out her tongue at Charlie who did it right back.
“Children, children,” Antony appeared. “Come on you guys, we want to start monopoly,” he pulled open the door further and the five of us left the hallway.
“Guys, this is Mathew, my buddy from basketball,” Charlie introduced and pointed at a tall guy, pouring a drink for himself, standing at a high table with bottles on it.
“Sup,” he greeted, we awkwardly said hi back, against populair believe, we were rather socially awkward, at least the music in the background didn’t cause for an awkward silence.
“Oh, and this is Aaron,” Arthur appeared out of the doorway that led to the kitchen, followed by another guy.
“Nice to meet you all,” he greeted, his eyes quickly traveling over us, stopping on me, as a small smirk appeared on his lips. “Very nice,” he said making my eyes shoot to Luna’s, then to Amelia’s and right next to Flora.
“Hi,” I plainly said and turned my back, looking over at Antony. “So, you said we were playing monopoly,” I grinned and he huffed.
“No,” he shook his head, “I just said that so Amelia would get her ass over here, we’ve waited long enough,” he said making the girl give him an offended look.
“You little-” Tony was given no warning when she jumped at him, they stumbled and the others laughed while Amelia tried getting him onto the ground and horribly failing.
“You suck,” James laughed when Amelia laid flat on her back, Anthony still standing.
“Shut the fuck up,” she panted. “I am no Y/n, besides, Ant is a head taller and way stronger, I’m surprised I lasted as long as I did,” she smiled rather proudly.
“Then why did you attack me in the first place,” Antony asked, rubbing his arm when she’d accidentally scratched him with her nails.
“You were bing a dick,” she shrugged making Arthur snort, resorting in him getting hit on the head by his twin.
“Now go on, sit down, grab a drink, be fun,” James dragged me to the floor to sit next to him and I scoffed but sat down on the ground anyway.
“I’ll grab drinks, what do you want?” Luna looked at me and then Millie and Flora.
“Just get me a water to start,” Flora smiled softly.
“Cola mixed with vodka, you know how I like it,” I told her and she nodded and then looked at Millie, who still laid on the ground.
“Just a beer,” she said and Luna nodded before heading to the kitchen. “If we’re not playing monopoly, then what are we doing?” Amelia asked.
“Whatever you want that’s not monopoly,” Charlie said, making her glare at him, causing him to smirk. “We can watch a movie, go outside Caleb’s starting a fire, put on some better music, play any other game, a drinking game, anything,” he named and Amelia sat up.
“Truth or drink it is,” she said, making Charlie groan.
“No,” he whined but she crossed her arms.
“You said anything but monopoly and suggested a drinking game, here you go, truth or drink,” she grinned and he glared at her.
“It’s so lame!” He complained, followed by agreements from most of us, causing Amelia to huff and roll her eyes.
“I don’t mind it,” we looked at the twins as they gave each other a surprised side eye for a second before ignoring the fact they spoke in sink.
“That’s because you don’t care and just say everything,” Charlie pointed at Arthur. “And you can hold your liquor like a champion and just do shots every chance you get,” he looked at Anthony who smirked.
“We’re playing truth or drink?” Luna entered the room aswel and there was a chorus of no’s and yes’.
“Ah, come on, it could be fun,” Mathew, Charlie’s basketball buddy spoke up. “Besides, maybe me and Aaron can get to know you guys then,” he smiled slightly.
It took a few minutes of bribery and begging, but eventually everyone was on board, even Charlie.
“Alright, so we’re just going around the circle?” Flora asked and everyone nodded. The game had already been set up, everyone had their own shot glasses and some liquor bottles stood on the table the group sat around.
“James, truth or drink, who in the group would you kiss without question?” Arthur didn’t waste a second, making James look up offended.
“Why immediately start with me?” He asked, looking around the group for support.
“Oh don’t be a baby,” I teased. “Truth or drink?” I repeated and he groaned. “Also, Art, lame ass question, but that doesn’t matter,”
My last remark was met with a pillow thrown against my head and laughs around the table.
“Chop chop, answer the question,” Luna hurried and James rolled his eyes before looking around the group for a second.
“Y/n, probably, or Lu,” he thought for a bit. “But that’s because I’ve known them for years and I’ve kissed both of them before,” he explained and Anthony gasped, putting a hand against his chest.
“Not me?” He asked ‘hurt’, blinking innocently at James. “How could you?” He said dramatically.
“Oh, any day bro,” James blew him a kiss, causing Anthony to wink at him.
“And they’re still beating the gay allegations,” Amelia shook her head. “I’m so done with you two,” she grumbled, causing the group to chuckle.
“Next,” James stopped Amelia’s complaining. “Luna, was it you that snuck into my house three years ago, stealing all my boxers?” He asked and without hesitation, Luna poured a shot, making me and Amelia giggle.
It did leave Mathew and Aaron with lots of questions, causing James to go into detailed explanation that someone snuck into his house in the middle of the night, stole all his boxers and decorated the school with them.
He never found out who did it, but he had his suspicions…
It had been me and Luna, sneaking into his house while Amelia waited outside for us, standing ‘on guard’ as she’d called it.
We never admitted it and it did leave Jamie rather confused.
The game went on for a while and I did enjoy it, the party got more crowded and two other girls had decided on joining us aswel. I knew them only from history class, but I liked them so I didn’t mind.
Soon enough though, I started to get a bit uncomfortable with this Aaron.
He asked the girls weird questions, except for Flora, probably because Charlie was in the room. He kept glancing at me and one of the other girls, places where he should not be looking.
Luna, Amelia and Flora noticed it too, yet the boys where to blind as always. I’m pretty sure the other two girls saw it to as I noticed their exchange of glances and whispers to each other.
It was Amelia who was the first to speak up.
“Hey, if appreciate it if you stopped staring at N/n’s boobs, thank you,” she interrupted Arthur’s sentence as she stared at Aaron with a scowl.
“Calm down, I’m just looking,” Aaron smirked slightly. “I’m a man, if she has her tits on display like that, I’m going to look,”
My eyes widened and I instinctively looked at James who saw red.
“Dude no,” Arthur, who sat next to him and had been the one to bring him spoke up first. “I will not have you talking to her, or any girl for that matter like that, stop looking at her,” he stated, glaring at the guy next to him.
“Chill, dude, I’m just joking,” Aaron laughed and winked at me.
Amelia didn’t take two seconds to stand up but Anthony was faster and stopped her before she did anything.
“Let’s go outside,” he looked around at the others that belonged to our group. “The lot of us,” he said and took Amelia with him as he left.
James helped me up from the ground and we left too, along with Mathew and the two other girls decided on following aswel.
Arthur stayed behind, I guessed he was going to have a word with Aaron. I exchanged glances with him before going outside and he gave me a small smile.
Outside, the cold air did do me good and it felt good to feel the breeze against my sweaty face.
“What a weirdo,” Luna said when we all stood around one of the fires.
“Yes, I totally agree,” one of the girls spoke up. “I mean, we joined because we saw ya’ll where having fun, but then we noticed how he looked at you,” she nodded at me, “and he looked at Katie,” she gestured to her friend. “And the inappropriate questions he asked us girls,” she gestured around to the girls around the fire.
“That was actually not okay, maybe we should look for Caleb and ask him to kick the dude out or something,” Charlie suggested, wrapping his arms around Flora who was shivering because of the cold.
“Maybe we should just let it be,” I said while looking at the ground, my arms wrapped around myself to get rid of the cold. “It could cause trouble and mess with the vibe hanging around,”
“Yes, but there’s still a creep wandering around a party and almost no one knows him,” James argued causing the other girl to pipe up.
“We’re in Caleb’s friend group, we could inform him of what’s happening and ask him to keep an eye out,” she suggested with a smile.
“We know tons of people, we can just spread the word, maybe it’ll cause him to leave on his own,” the other one nodded in agreement.
“If you don’t mind,” Flora, ever so kind smiled at them. “We don’t want it to ruin your night,”
“Nah, it’s fine, we’ll go look for Caleb, thanks for the fun,” one of them said and they left while waving at us.
“Thank you guys too, bye,” Luna waved before looking at me. “How are you feeling?” She asked, “we can leave if you want,”
“Yeah, maybe that’s better,” Millie agreed, giving me a pittiful look.
“Aye, it’s not that bad, let’s just enjoy the night that remains,” I assured. “Besides, I’m not letting an asshole like him ruin my night,” I huffed making the others chuckle.
“That’s the spirit,” Arthur appeared next to me. “I tolt Aaron off and told him it’d be better if he left, he refused and I can’t exactly kick him out, so I just told him to leave us alone,” he explained.
“Yeah that’s fine,” Amelia nodded. “The girls that were with us are informing Caleb and a few others of the situation,” she explained to him and he nodded along.
“Good,” he stated. “Anyone wanting some drinks? I’ll get them,” he looked around while everyone gave their orders.
“Just a water for me, the shots are getting to me,” I grinned and he huffed a small laugh but agreed anyway.
“I’ll come with you,” Anthony said and then twins walked off to pour the lot of us drinks.
“Is Lloyd coming?” James asked me and I shook my head.
“I don’t think so, he send me a text an hour ago saying he probably wasn’t going to make it,” I told them, a tiny bit upset, but it was fine. “Lucky for Aaron though, I’m not sure his teeth would’ve survived,” I had a small grin on my face.
“What? You’re saying Lloyd would’ve beat him up?” Amelia asked amused and I chuckled.
“Not beat him up per se,” I said with a laugh. “Just punch him or something, he does have quite the temper, but I think it would only happen if he’s in a bad mood already,”
“Damn, I would pay to see your boyfriend beat up a guy for you, it’d be funny as hell,” Luna grinned and I shot her a quick look.
The group fell in easy conversation, Millie telling us a bout the new school gossip.
“Are you alright?” I looked to my side to see James growing ever so slightly. “You seem uncomfortable,” he looked down at my arms that were trying to cover my lower stomach.
“Just a bit,” I answered honestly, “he was staring a lot,” I swallowed thickly and James smiled before taking of his jacket and putting it around my shoulders.
“I expect to get that back,” he warned me and I smiled at him and put my arms trough the jacket.
“I’ll make sure of it,” I promised before retiring my attention to Amelia.
———
After a few minutes the twins returned with the drinks and handed them out. We stood around the fire for an hour and it was quite fun.
At one point someone gave us a bag of marshmallows and some sticks so we could hold them over the fire. We thanked him and it did end up in a bit of a fight.
That translates to, the boys started throwing them and it ended up with James almost landing in the fire.
(Flora told them off, the mother she is)
“Hey, Mills,” Amelia looked up when Anthony called her name and then looked in the direction he had nodded with a wicked grin.
She quickly looked back at us with wide eyes and a red face. Around one of the other fires, her crush was talking with her friends.
“She’s so pretty,” she whispered yelled to us. “Look at her dress,” she bounce up and down and we all laughed.
“Go ask her out,” Luna bumped her own shoulder against Amelia’s.
“What- no! Are you crazy? I barely know her,” she whispered and Anthony rolled his eyes.
“C’mon, I know some of her friends, I’ll get you that date,” he took her arm to start walking towards the others but she backtracked.
“Wow, wow, wow,” she looked at him with wide eyes. “Give me a second,” she said sassily. “How does my hair look?” She turned to me and did a quick spin.
“It looks fine, nothing to worry about,” I assured.
“My makeup?” She asked, bringing her face closer to mine.
“A bit smudged, there’s mascara under your left eye- wait no don’t panick,” I looked at Flora who was already digging in her purse.
“Here,” she handed me some cotton swabs and makeup remover.
Within one minute, Millie was ready to go and she was a nervous wreck.
“Shots for good luck,” James said and took the bottle we had left on the grass and poured a shot for Amelia and Anthony. They clinked their glasses together before throwing back the shot and leaving the group.
“She’s so gonna get laid,” James smirked proudly and then pretended to wipe away a tear making Luna push him lightly.
“Stop it,” she scolded and he grinned at her.
“You know how got laid,” Flora spoke and my eyes widened slightly when she looked at me, my cheeks heating up.
“Shush,” I said with a small smirk and couldn’t say anything else because James squealed loudly.
“You know, I am so proud of you, you are finally growing up,” he said emotionally and hugged me.
“Are you actually crying?” I asked when I felt him sobbing, and I put my arms around him.
“Leave me alone,” he whined and we laughed at him.
“I think the alcohol is getting to you, Jamie,” I said and he pulled away from me, putting me at arms length.
“You think?” He yelled. “I’m never emotional,” he whined and then let himself fall into the grass, which I was pretty sure was wet.
“Get up Jamie, you’re going to get sick,” I took his hand, trying to pull him up but he wouldn’t budge. “Jamie?” I asked but he didn’t answer.
“Is he asleep?” Charlie asked amused and I groaned when I realised he was right.
I was about to wonder aloud how we would wake him, when Luna came with the solution. Without a doubt, she poured her glass of water over James’ face and he shot up, giving her a deadly look.
“Goodmorning,” she greeted with a fake sweetness in her voice.
James pouted at her and she sighed. “Go get this guy a glass of water,” she groaned and Charlie laughed and helped James up.
“Me and Flora are leaving anyway, she’s cold and tired, I’ll take James with me, he can crash at mine,” he suggested and we agreed.
“Are you walking home?” Arthur asked and Charles nodded.
“Yeah, it’s like five minutes,” he shrugged and then looked at James who was drunkenly staring up at the sky. “Maybe ten,” he said in a pained voice making us laugh.
We said our goodbyes, I gave Flora a hug and then the three of them headed inside to get some water and then leave trough the front door.
A few minutes later a notification popped up on our screens and it was Flora who sent her location like we all promised we would do after leaving a party split into groups or alone.
“What’s the time?” I asked Luna who glanced at her phone.
“Almost half past one,” she answered and I pursed my lips.
“Half an hour and then go home?” I suggested and she nodded.
“Fine by me,” she then glanced at Amelia who was seemingly going well with her crush. They where talking and laughing while Anthony observed like a proud dad. “Don’t know about her though,” she said amused.
“Don’t worry about her, you girls go home, me and Tony will make sure Millie gets home safe,” Arthur promised.
“Though, if she’s lucky she’s going home with someone else tonight,” Mathew grinned when he looked back at the girl.
Luna and I giggled while Arthur let out an amused laugh.
We spent the remaining half hour finishing our drinks while tagging along with a group who where watching a football game inside.
Mathew and I had no idea what was going on, but we just decided to cheer whenever Lu and Arthur cheered.
After that, Lu and I said goodbye to the two boys and went to find Amelia. That wasn’t too difficult because she was right where we left her.
“Millie,” I tapped her shoulder and she turned to me. She seemed rather alright, I was pretty sure she didn’t drink any alcohol since leaving our side. “I’ve called Malcolm and he’s coming to get Lu and me, are you joining us or are you going with the twins?” I asked and she contemplated for a bit and looked back at the girl in front of us.
“I think I’ll stay for a bit longer,” she said and I nodded as she gave me a rather excited smile.
“Yeah, that’s fine, just text the group chat when you guys get home and call me if you need anything,” I gave her a quick side hug and waved at the girl she was talking to before both me and Lu left.
When we closed the front door, Malcolm was already pulling up and I sent my location in the group the moment we where safe in the car.
We dropped of Luna at her house before driving home ourselves.
I was gonna hate myself in the morning.
Malcolm, the sweetheart he is, helped me up the stairs to my bedroom and then wished me a goodnight.
I quickly discarded my dress and heels and then just pulled one of Lloyd’s hoodies over my head before dropping into bed and drifting off to sleep.
I sleepily opened my eyes when someone planted a kiss on my forehead and got into bed with me, pulling me into his arms before I drifted off again.

I have an idea
An au where Kai never shows up to the chens noodle house meeting cuz he was mad at what Lloyd said and instead ends up going deeper into ninjagos crime scene.
* Kai gets pissed at Lloyd callling him selfish and ends up getting really drunk and misses the meeting with Lloyd jay and Cole
* On his way back he accidentally falls into one of the canals and almost drowns. He manages to get out but a passer by recognizes him and saw him fall in but didn’t see him come back up
* Kai gets back to where ever he’s staying and promptly passes out for like three days
* The person that saw him fall in calls the cops and they assume Kai drowned and begin searching for his body
* Lloyd and the others at this point are already at chen’s island.
* Nya gets a call from the police about Kai and she like them assumes he drowned.
* She begins looking for Lloyd and the others to tell them that Kai’s gone then gets wrapped up in all the Chen stuff
* Kai wakes up to find that he’s on the news for being dead
* He decides to take advantage of this and decides to just go by shogun now
* He also decides to “pretend” to be female cuz he’s to recognizable no ther reason totalyyyy (yes this is a transfem Kai au cuz I do what I want)
* Meanwhile with the ninja when they catch up with Nya they learn that Kai’s dead and are very upset about it
* Chen also fails in his plans because he doesn’t have all the elements and when he try’s to use the spell the staff explodes killing him & clouce
* Skylor is arrested and put into kryptarium for working with her dad (this is very important I promise)
* Lloyd feels really bad about Kai because the last time they spoke he said really mean stuff and he wonders if Kai fell in somehow related to that.
* Meanwhile Kai begins making connections in the crime sphere in ninjago. She wears a disguise (a mask, dress large jacket and other clothing to hide her identity) and grows a reputation for herself
* She eventually starts to notice how shitty life is for lower class citizens of ninjago city and how the criminals and the upper class take advantage of that.
* She starts helping these people (mainly orphans) and creates a safe haven for them where all of them can live safely under her protection.
* She amasses a following for the people she helped + some criminals who have kinda changed their ways and they become a pretty big gang in ninjago city (I don’t have a name for this yet)
* With the ninja morro happens but garmadon takes the place of Kai in it cuz he never got banished (just imagine morro got let out by clouse on accident cuz he still attempted to banish garm but failed) and everything is basically the same up until they confront ronin
* Back with Kai a few months before Lloyd gets possessed she ran into a girl on the street named Natalie. Natalie claims to be an orphan and Kai does what she normally does when she finds a poor starving orphan on the street, she scoops her up and brings her back to her shelter (I don’t have a name for this yet either)
* Turns out Natalie is actually ronins daughter. She used to live with her parents in Styx (ronin was still doing ronin stuff so he was constantly gone all the time and she mainly lived with her mom) until one day ronin refused to pay soul archer his debt and souls archer went after his family. Nat’s mom ends up sacrificing her self to protect nat and nat runs away after. She ends up in ninjago city all alone.
* Kai after learning this decides to go and have a chat with ronin (because no one hurts her kids the people under her protection) and she runs into the ninja + garm when she goes to confront ronin (it’s when the ninja try and steal the scroll much to garms dismay because he’s still trying to be good)
* She panics but is slightly relieved when non of the ninja recognizes her (definitely helps that she’s wearing a mask and feminine clothes) ronin does tho due to his connections and questions her on why she’s here
* She doesn’t speak and just attacks him (she’s too worried the ninja will recognize her voice and she thinks that they won’t agree with what she’s doing and will be mad at her)
* So chaos ensues and Kai ends up leaving once she realizes Lloyd’s been possessed by a ghost and decides to dip to not interfere with the ninja’s mission anymore
* The season goes on as planned but the ninja now know who “shogun” is thanks to ronin. Lloyds a bit suspicious because of Kai’s red shogun name but guesses that maybe she was inspired by Kai or it’s just a coincidence.
* When Kai gets back she learns that some of her group members got arrested while trying to stop a fight between two other groups and decides to brake them out of kryptarium
* Cue skylors entrance
* Skylor manages to try and escape in the chaos of Kai’s brake in and almost escapes but is cornered by some guards
* Kai who’s crawling through the vents to get out while her group members have already escaped stops when she sees skylor getting cornered. Cue the love at first sight thing and she decides to help Skylor escape cuz she’s so pretty
* Skylor accepts Kai’s help and they escape and Kai brings her to her shelter
* Skylor has had a lot of time to reflect on her self during her imprisonment and is now glad her dad died cuz she really hated being evil
* Kai and Skylor grow closer together as Skylor joins the group and eventually Kai confesses her true identity cuz she trusts Skylor
* Skylor is confused at first because the ninja put her in prison and evreything but is ok with it because of how different Kai is
* Skylor is transfem in this au too! She she helps Kai realize that she’s not pretending to be a girl and helps her except herself
* They eventually form a romantic bond and skylor takes up a new persona to work under (I don’t have a name for it yet) to match Kai’s shogun persona
That’s all I have for now but this was all rattling around in my brain and I had to write it down
Other important stuffs
* Kai’s more morally grey in this au
* She kinda becomes similar to Jason Todd in the way she acts with her shogun persona
* She basically unofficially adopts all the orphan kids she lets stay in her shelter they all call her big sis sho
* In her group she has her close lieutenants (all ocs that I’m still thinking about names for) including skylor as her right hand woman
* She is a wanted criminal because she has broken some laws
* She doesn’t really use her powers or spinjitzu unless it’s really dire circumstances cuz it could be trailed back to her life as a ninja
* She’s kinda scared of seeing her the ninja again because she feels like she’s betrayed everything they stand for by being morally grey and doing borderline bad things
Feel free to ask me questions about this au (might help me come up with more ideas for it)

Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
Ransom was shutting down his computer for the day, dismissing his new assistant. It was taking some time but they were working through what they each needed to have a good working relationship. She was a lot more expensive and whiny than Y/N but he had to make peace with that. He checked the mirror, seeing the last traces of the black eye Curtis had given him. It’d been over a week and he’d be happy to see it finally gone.
He turned when his door opened, expecting his assistant, but stopped in alarm when he saw the familiar, mustachioed face of Lloyd Hansen.
“Ransom,” Lloyd smiled, holding his arms out. “It’s so good to see you again.”
“Lloyd,” Ransom hesitated. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“What? Can’t I just visit?”
“Well, given your current status of “exiled” I think you can understand my confusion.”
Lloyd’s grin faded a little, “oooh, who finally got the balls to punch you, Ran? I’m surprised it hasn’t happened before.”
“Well,” Ransom stalled, “it’s only fair. I was harassing one of his employees.”
“Fair? Ran how hard were you hit? That doesn’t sound like you.”
“I’ve grown, Lloyd. Now, I’ll ask again, to what do I owe the pleasure of your company?”
Lloyd’s smile widened, “always the kiss ass. No wonder the Bosses put you up in the elite tiers. Schmoozing the old ladies to get them to vote, donate, whatever. That was never my forte.”
Ransom huffed, “certainly not for a lack of willingness to talk. Can I get you a drink?”
“You got the good whiskey,” Lloyd asked before snorting a laugh. “Who am I kidding? Of course you’ve got the good stuff! Make it a double.”
Ransom turned to get the drinks and positioned himself so he could keep an eye on him while also seeming to not pay attention. He poured the drinks and handed Lloyd one before sitting down, gesturing for Lloyd to do the same. Lloyd took a long sip and nodded appreciatively.
“So,” Lloyd remarked, “of course I am here on unfinished business.” Ransom nodded in understanding. “I was kicked out of my territory because the higher ups didn’t like how I handled things. You’d think guys with their background wouldn’t mind a little more blood on their hands. I got results, they kicked me out. I’ve finally got things sorted out and built up to take over everything. They won’t know what hit ‘em.”
Ransom's eyebrows shot up, “everything? You don’t want to be in charge of just the Gar- intel gathering anymore? The empire’s grown since you were last here. Are you sure you can handle it all?”
“That’s where you come in, pretty boy,” Lloyd retorts before taking another sip. “We both know public relations ain’t my thing. You be the face of everything, keep your nice lifestyle, maybe even make it cushier, and I’ll handle all the dirty work. You know, the fun side of things.”
“Such a generous offer. How long do I have to think about it?”
“By the time I’ve finished my drink.”
Ransom nods, “so I’d still be doing all the schmoozing and kiss-ass work?”
“Yes,” Lloyd acknowledged, taking another long sip. “But you’d have a much bigger allowance and a lot more support in the harassment of employees.”
“It’s a very tempting offer,” Ransom conceded. “May I ask the repercussions if I decline?”
“Well, I can’t exactly have you telling the others that I’m in town, let alone that I have plans.” He raises an eyebrow while opening his jacket, showing Ransom the gun he has strapped to his chest.
Ransom nods and contemplates, watching Lloyd’s drink slowly disappear. “It is a good deal, but what assurances do I have that your plan will work? I’m already on thin ice with the Bosses. If they find out I helped you in any way, even by not mentioning your visit, it’ll be a death sentence for me, too.”
“Ransom, I’m hurt,” Lloyd mocked. “You think I would even tell you this much if I wasn’t certain of my victory?”
“In my defense, you’ve been found out before.”
Lloyd sighed, “I suppose you’re right. Fine.” Lloyd drinks the last of his whiskey and sets the glass down before standing up, “either you agree to help me and get a much more self-indulgent lifestyle, or you turn me down and end up dead. You have no other guarantees in life.”
“How do you know I won’t just tell them you’re here?”
“Because you know, damn well, I’ll do so much more than just give you a black eye,” Lloyd glowered. “I’ve got my own comm guys monitoring all of your devices as well as a few well placed bugs. You won’t be able to do anything to warn them without my knowing. And neither of us would really enjoy your screams as I make an example out of you.”
Ransom glared up at Lloyd, “well. I guess I don’t have much of a choice then. I’ll be expecting my first paycheck soon. I’ve got an assistant to win over.”
“That cute one who just left?”
“No, she’s the temporary replacement,” Ransom huffed. “My last assistant was the fat one?” Ransom searched Lloyd’s face for any sign he knew of the woman he was talking about but found none.
“Huh, never would’ve taken you to be interested in the bigger ladies,” Lloyd smiled. “That’s usually my demographic.”
“I have a new appreciation for them,” Ransom professed. “I blame you for getting the idea in my head.”
Lloyd laughed, “now that’s something I’ll happily take the blame for.”
Tumblr media
“Hey, Jake,” you ask as you hesitantly approach Jensen.
He looks up from his work, “Hey Teach! What are you doing here? I thought it was your day off?”
“I thought so too,” you admit. “This…this is going to sound weird, but I think Ransom might be in trouble.” Jake’s brows furrowed in confusion and you continue, “I’ve been getting a bunch of gifts from him. They’ve been getting delivered seemingly nonstop since yesterday. I was gonna just throw them out, let him waste his money, but then I…I may have picked up a pattern?”
“How do you mean?”
“Well,” you hesitate, “this is going to sound paranoid, but I noticed that all of the gifts he got me were the same gifts some of his characters used when they had to silently indicate they needed help. He sent me begonias. Begonias mean “Beware” in flower language so whenever Mrs. Nylund wanted to warn her secret lover her husband was home, she’d spend hours working on the begonias. He also sent me orange lilies. When Miss Petrillo sent her mother yellow lilies, it meant she was fine but orange lilies meant she was in danger.”
Jake was listening patiently, nodding, “I dunno, it could just be those flowers were on his mind.”
“I thought that, too,” you admitted. “But then the jewelry started coming in. A necklace and earring set that are an exact match for the ones Lady Devereaux would fidget with as a signal to her security to remove the person she was talking to. An amulet with a challenge coin, just like Mr. Bryson sent to his brother as a silent signal for help. The list goes on.”
“That is pretty strange,” Jake admitted. “Since he was put on notice by the higher ups we have had a couple bugs added to his place.” He turns to his computer and starts typing, “let me check if they’ve picked up any unusual ac– No. No, you don’t.” Jake’s demeanor suddenly gets serious as he gives the computer his full focus, typing faster than you can register. “Oh, you’re a feisty one. You’re not getting into my systems you bastard. Aww, you really think that’ll work? Well watch me counter with this magic!”
He goes on for several minutes before finally sitting back and letting out a big breath. He looks at you, “I think you’re right. I think Ransom is in trouble.”

Lost and found, arc 1: buried treasure
Part 3: comic relief
(Previous---Next) (Masterpost)
“Find anything yet?” Geo called from the rookery doorway, watching as Lloyd dug through the most recent pile of lost items, sometimes people lost some really cool shit, and it’s not like they could just let it sit there and rot! That would just be wasteful. So they took what they could find and did what they could with it.
Geo had taken to using his fusion power to create sculptures that Lloyd… didn’t get.
“No, not yet” Lloyd sighed
He HAD adjusted to life in the lost pretty quickly. He’d been there for about two years now, and it turned out, living in the land of the lost wasn’t actually that much different from his life on the streets of ninjago . Only this way he didn’t have to worry nearly as much. Geo had a garden so they had plenty of food, they never had to worry about money. they’d made Lloyd a lair (no geo it’s not JUST his room. All decent villains had an evil lair) and that had been pretty fun.
He’d even found a toy bow, it was pretty fun to knock cans off of stuff. He was getting pretty good at it too! He’d be a master archer in no time.
But., if he was being honest. There were things he’d missed, like traveling all over! No rules and no destination, just him and the road. And it was. Kind of lonely. Ninjago was filled with so many people.. sure there was geo but..there's only so many times he can prank the same person with the same thing before it gets boring. He wished he could still go to the arcade, or win cool merch by nerding out at doomsday comix. But things were still good here. He had plenty of time to plot his takeover of ninjago! Especially considering he… couldn’t leave. Leaving was the first step to taking over.
A geyser sputtered, Lloyd snapped from his schemes of world domination and home sickness (could you be sick for a home you didn’t have?) as his head whipped around to try and figure out where it would be (and hoping it wasn’t under him) before the ground bursted open in a flurry of paper and plastic, a slim volume landed at Lloyd’s feet “no WAY!!” He exclaimed with a grin, picking up the comic (still in its plastic sleeve) “FRITZ DONAGAN!!”
“Fritz what-a-gone?” Geo asked, tilting his head as he came over
“Fritz donagon!! He’s this EPIC explorer that’s like mega cool! He’s been to space and all over the world!! There was even an issue where he explored the depths of the sea using this special scuba diving suit that let him breath underwater!!” Lloyd explained, his grin widening as he flipped wildly though the pages “woah- this issue it’s. This is one of the orginal runs!! It’s like- IMPOSSIBLE to find!! Oh man whoever lost this is gonna FREAK when they realize it’s gone” he snickered, not caring about the potentially distraught owner who had no knowledge of the relocation of their precious trove.
Geo frowned as he looked at the pile of comics and toys. “What about the rest of these..?”
“Hm..” Lloyd hummed, shutting his comic and examining the pile “it’s mostly collectors stuff.. I guess someone’s mom cleared out the attic or something..?” His mind wondered to Rufus, the owner of doomsday comix. It had been a shelter for Lloyd before he got lost. A safe, warm place he could hang out for hours. Rufus had always prided himself on his collection.. some of this looked like his stuff. But. It couldn’t be. He’d never just abandon his stuff like that.. not stuff like this at least.
Everything was in mint condition. Definitely from a collector.. just. Couldn’t have been Rufus. The only way Rufus would’ve lost this stuff was if.. if something really bad happened. Lloyd’s smile faltered.
He shook the thought from his head, Rufus would be fine. He WAS fine. He had to be. “I’m. Going to gather these up. See if I can put the comics in order! You can read em when I’m done, if you want” he smiled at geo who just. Blinked.
“Im.. not sure I’d enjoy them.” The purple teen rubbed his neck
“Oh come on at least give them a chance!!” Lloyd insisted “look this one’s really good I swear!! It’s like, my favorite issue ever” he held up another comic
Geo sighed as his ears flicked and turned downward “I appreciate the thought Lloyd but I. I can’t.”
This time, Lloyd blinked at his friend. Putting the pieces together, geo had been here since he was young, REALLY young. Younger then Lloyd had been… ‘I can’t’
“Oh… OH!” The realization hit Lloyd like a brick in the stomach “well uh. What if.. what if I read it TO you! I can do funny voices and everything!!”
Goes ears perked up “that. That might be ok,” he gave a small smile “I uh. I’d be willing to give it a shot if you're doing funny voices.”
Lloyd grinned at him, gathering up as many comics as his preteen arms could hold “well come on then! Adventure awaits!” the plastic sleeves crinkled as he put them into a near by tattered backpack, slinging the remaining strap on his shoulder. The young terror held his hand out to geo, who took it with an small smile of thanks as the blond walked them off to his the totally secret entrance of his lair, a car that had fallen near months after Lloyd himself.
Lloyd pried open the door, crawling through the back seat into a carefully arranged metal igloo of sorts. A pile of blankets and pillows to the left, an assortment of “scheming materials” to the right.
The pair settled into the pile of soft fabric Lloyd called a bed, opening the first volume. The younger pushed his hair out of his face, clearing his throat “fear? Fear isn’t a word where I come from!”

Orange is the New Black (Chapter 1 - Coalescence)
[Chapter 1 - you are here!] // [Chapter 2] – (FFN) (AO3)
Part of @ninjago-fic-fest!
Summary:
A rift opens in the sky above Ninjago City just as Cole continues his track record of falling from tall places. The place he wakes up in isn't the same as the one in which he fell... and who's the kid with a man bun who looks just like him?
When the world ended, it was just another day in the height of midsummer.
Aboard the Destiny’s Bounty, the Ninja team went about their usual days: training, playing video games, and annoying one another. Zane and Lloyd played chess. Master Wu meditated on his spirit smoke, uninterrupted for the moment. Nya and Jay tinkered in the hold, and Kai served as a makeshift spot welder for them as they constructed what would surely be the Ninja’s best weapon.
Cole sat on the bow of the Bounty, alone with his thoughts.
Many hundreds of feet separated him from the earth he loved so well, but it didn’t bother him. He’d been a passenger on the various Bounties since he was a young ninja. As an adult, the drop neither scared nor exhilarated him, even though he’d suffered it before. He’d suffered worse than the fall before.
No, he enjoyed the view from above, watching as the edge of Ninjago City gave way to desert sand. Here in the sand hills, very little grew. His hometown was nearby…
When they landed, he’d give his dad a call. It had been a while, and the anniversary of his mom’s death was coming up soon. He was overdue for a chat anyway.
Cole was so engrossed in his thoughts that at first he didn’t notice the way the sunlight and sky subtly changed color. It was only when magenta light flashed across his eyes, obscuring the sight of the town below, that he finally realized something was happening.
He sat up straight, blinking a few times, wondering if he’d imagined it.
It was light. He’d never seen anything like it before! Bright magenta, stretching out in a line, cleaving the sky into pieces.
The line was branching, and they were all growing.
Cole burst into the hold of the ship. “Guys!”
Jay yelled in surprise, dropping a heavy wrench on his foot, and yelled again in pain. “Ow, ow, ow!”
Kai jumped, then turned and glared at Cole. “Not cool buddy!”
“I’m sorry– it’s an emergency!” Cole looked around frantically. “Where’s Nya?”
“She went up to her bunkroom to get something.” Jay gave him a quizzical look as he massaged his injured foot. “Why?”
“We need all hands on deck! Something strange is happening.” Cole gestured for them to follow him. “Come on!”
Kai and Jay shared a quick look, then followed him up the stairs.
The three ninja burst out onto the deck, where a rapidly devolving scene awaited them. Zane and Lloyd were fighting with the rigging, struggling to tie it down. When he saw them, Lloyd’s face lit up with hope. “It’s about time! Give us a hand?”
The other ninja sprung into action, but Cole couldn’t help noticing a strange feeling in the air. Something wasn’t quite right, and it was only getting worse. What was it about this light that made him so uneasy, besides its bizzarre appearance?
When the rigging was tied, Cole pulled Zane aside. “Zane, buddy, do you feel something off?”
Zane frowned, looking around at the strange magenta stripes in the sky. “I am afraid I do not understand what you mean.”
“Remember, you used to have a sixth sense? I don’t know what it is, but it feels like the Rift of Return.” Cole pointed at his scar. “I can feel it, whatever this is. It’s not good.”
“I see. Perhaps it is a portal of some kind?”
There were more stripes of magenta light forming, splitting into what looked like tears. Within them, they saw flashes of strange realms, almost like windows. Behind the rifts were dragons, lava pools, floating islands, unmistakeable mountains, dark caverns, an office building, person-sized snails– all too much to comprehend so fast.
The two brothers shared a worried frown, Cole speaking for both of them. “This isn’t going to end well.”
By Cole’s best guess, it was about half an hour later when the inevitable occurred.
The tears had widened, spreading out into a star above the center of Ninjago City. In each, a different unfamiliar place could be seen, just as before. There were so many sights, each of them more interesting than the last! None of it mattered much to the Ninja, who were frantically busy with managing the Bounty in the strong wind, and there were too many civilians to save for any of them to cloudgaze.
The moment of true crisis came as Cole was busy lifting a very large, very heavy shipping container. It had fallen from a semi trailer, and from there had trapped an unfortunate family inside their car on a lower overpass.
Just as he lifted it high enough for them to crawl out, Cole heard Lloyd’s voice over his comm.
“Everyone, rendezvous at the Bounty. This storm’s getting worse!”
Cole gave a hasty confirmation, the whole team echoing him, and turned to go. He threw the shipping container aside, throwing himself into Spinjitzu so he could grab the civilians faster. He couldn’t head back until they were safe.
All was well until a piece of flying shrapnel struck him in the chest, throwing him out of Spinjitzu and onto the edge of the overpass. He laid there, dangling free over the edge.
“COLE!” Jay shrieked over the comms, so loud Cole winced. “Stay there! Hold on!”
Cole groaned, looking around. Below him, the drop was at least thirty feet– farther than he could safely fall, and he was slipping.
Lloyd’s voice came over the comms. “Pull yourself up if you can! We’re in trouble here!”
Cole looked back up and began to pull himself up, but he’d been fighting against the storm winds for so long, he was exhausted.
He wished he could reach to trigger his comm and speak without losing his grip… Cole gave a mighty effort, trying to raise himself high enough to climb back up, but it wasn’t enough. The winds and the shrapnel buffeted him, a piece of wood striking him in the chest.
His grip finally failed.
Cole screamed as he fell, directly into a newly-opened rift, and it swallowed him whole.
There was a pounding in his head, but Cole was conscious again. It was a feat of strength, considering the immense fall he’d just survived.
He groaned and pushed himself up from the ground, where he’d been laying since the impact. He couldn’t really recall how he got there, other than the pressure and the pain. Perhaps it was simply too fast to recall. It wasn’t like his slow descent from the Bounty so many years ago, into the cloud of Oni magic in Ninjago City. That had been filled with dread; this was empty.
He peeled off his mask and pried his eyes open, only to be greeted with sunlight.
No dark purple cloud of evil magic here. Just a regular, sunny day.
He looked up. He couldn’t see the sun– no judging the time of day, then– but when he squinted, something was… wrong.
The sky was almost the wrong shade of blue… but that was impossible!
Of course, Cole had seen the impossible before.
He looked down and shook his head, noticing for the first time how stiff all his muscles had become. With a groan of pain, he reached up to massage his temples, hoping for his minor headache to subside and be replaced with conscious thought. He needed to focus.
A few minutes later, he finally had the strength to look around.
Cole was in the middle of some kind of grassy field, striped with lines at equal distances from each other. It was perfectly flat, shaped like a rectangle, and had a rubber running track with lengthwise lines surrounded it in an oval shape. Past the track on one side, there were long steel benches. It was quite obviously meant for sports, but Cole didn’t recognize any of it– maybe he just hadn’t spent enough time playing sports when he was a teenager.
He got to his feet and turned around, taking stock of his environment. The place was mostly deserted, save for two teenage boys standing on the track. They were watching him.
Cole waved.
The boys continued staring.
Feeling weird in a number of ways, Cole ignored them for the moment and continued taking stock of his environment. There was something strange about it, in a way he couldn’t quite put his finger on. Things seemed to have a sharper edge than normal, almost shiny in places. Maybe his headache was a sign that he’d gotten a concussion? It didn’t quite explain what he was seeing.
Maybe he’d get some answers from bystanders. The teenagers were still standing where he’d noticed them before. Come to think of it, he was having a hard time figuring out what time it was. Had he passed out for a long time?
It couldn’t hurt to ask, so he dusted himself off and walked toward them. The taller of the two, wearing a black muscle shirt with some unfamiliar logo on it, stepped in front of the shorter boy in green. As Cole approached, he pushed one ear of his headphones back.
“Can we help you?” The boy asked warily.
“Hey!” Cole waved, doing his best to appear friendly. “Hi, sorry, I just wanted to ask you something. Did you see a whole bunch of pink light a few minutes ago?”
The boy narrowed his eyes. “Maybe. Why do you ask?”
“I just wanted to know if you knew what it was. I, uh, think I passed out.”
The teenagers looked at each other, the shorter chiming in on the conversation. “You fell from… whatever it was. Not a huge drop, maybe two yards?”
Cole frowned. “...Yards?” The boy nodded. “What’s a yard?”
The boys’ eyes widened, and they glanced at each other again. “You don’t know what a yard is?”
“Uh… no?”
The taller boy held his hands out, measuring a distance. “This far.”
“Aha!” Cole laughed. “You could’ve just said two meters! That makes more sense.”
“Are you okay? Did you hit your head or something?”
“Maybe?” Cole brushed it off, filing away the odd miscommunication for later. “Look, my name’s Cole. I’m just trying to figure out what happened. Where am I, exactly?”
“You’re at Ninjago High School, on the football field.” The shorter one was wearing a puzzled expression, like he was trying to figure something out. “Where did you think you were?”
“Oh, man. I don’t know! I’m always somewhere new.” Cole waved it off. “You know how it is. Between the dragons, the Realm Crystal, Nadakhan’s whole deal, the Never Realm… man, it’s a wonder I ever get back to the Monastery sometimes.” he laughed. “Maybe I’m in another realm again! That would be neat.”
“Another realm?”
“Yeah, it’s pretty normal for us ninja.”
The two boys stiffened, with the taller one taking just a half-step forward. “Okay, who are you? Are you an impersonator?”
“An impersonator?” Cole waved his hands in front of him. “Woah, dude, you’ve got the wrong idea. You really don’t recognize me?”
“No. Should I?”
“Uh, maybe, seeing as this is apparently Ninjago.” Cole pulled up his mask. “Cole Brookstone, the Black Ninja?”
Some spark of realization clicked in the black-haired teen’s expression, and he crossed his arms. “Okay, something’s wrong. That can’t be true.”
“What? Why not?”
“Because that’s me.” The teenager pointed at himself. “I’m Cole. The Black Ninja.”
Cole stared at him.
‘Cole’ stared back.
“What?”

hanging onto every sentence
For @badthingshappenbingo. Prompt: Confined To Bed Rest. Suggested by @bracedfangirl who asked for "Lloyd for Confined To Bed Rest"
Tumblr media
Ever since they had gotten him back, the metaphoric light in his eyes had faded and had been replaced by a void that was impossible to read, one that made Kai feel sick.
Kai held on tighter when Lloyd flinched in his hold, nearly hitting his head on the curve of Kai's chin; he was pretty sure that there was some form of an apology interspersed with the series of hacking, wet coughs that escaped Lloyd's lips, but between the gasps and the exhaustion, it ended up being unintelligible.
"Don't worry about it," Kai insisted even when Lloyd sagged against him and went scarily still that had him turning to Zane, "is he-"
"He's still conscious," he let out a breath, watching as Zane quickly removed the blood pressure cuff which had caused Lloyd to flinch in the first place, "his vitals are mostly stable, except for…"
He didn't even have to say it, Lloyd's breathing had sounded awful from the moment Cole had pulled the two of them out of the river.
"So, what do we do?"
"Lloyd is the only one who can destroy the realm crystal, which means he has to come with us to Stiix."
'Right. End of the world, Morro, even more terrible things happening to people who don't deserve it.' Kai gently pulled Lloyd out of his slouch as he started coughing again.
"Are you sure all four of us can't just blow it up?"
"Affirmative. Our powers are still too weak from…" Zane's glance shifted towards Lloyd's face for a few brief moments before he returned eye contact with Kai, "from what happened, but it shouldn't take that much of Lloyd's abilities to destroy it."
Kai ran a hand through Lloyd's still damp hair before returning it back to the place around his arm where he had been holding him upright to encourage coughing up the water he had inhaled.
"Zane, he can barely sit up."
"We don't have another choice," Zane's grave tone only made Kai's decision making skills stall to more of a standstill, "if he does not destroy the realm crystal, Ninjago as we know it will be cursed."
Lloyd whimpered in response, which had Kai sitting straight up, but he let out a string of coughs before slouching against Kai once more.
"I know, I know," Kai finally sighed when he felt safe enough to return his gaze back to Zane, "but maybe we should make a backup plan if he's still this bad when we get to Stiix."
'If it were up to me, it wouldn't even be considered.'
"You do make a good point," Zane agreed while clipping a small monitor around one of Lloyd's fingers, "I'm going to update the others and see if we can make a backup plan, but I do not feel comfortable leaving him unattended-"
"I've got him, just don't let everyone decide to make me swim," Kai insisted as he pulled Lloyd upright again, "I've done enough swimming to last a lifetime."
"Very well, but Kai?"
"Yes?"
"Maybe use the towel to dry him off some more."
"Got it," Kai nodded, grabbing it as soon as the door shut behind him and started to towel off Lloyd's hair slowly in order to avoid another harsh flinch, "you still with me, Lloyd?"
He got a few harsh coughs in response that made his own chest twinge in sympathy.
Lloyd had managed to stay upright, defeat the preeminent and give a very motivating speech on the deck of the small paddle boat to the point where Kai wondered just how Lloyd had gotten this much energy when he had barely been able to speak that morning.
But when they returned to The Bounty and Lloyd keeled over in a way that renewed the unrelenting panic in Kai's heart, he realized that it was clearly a mix of adrenaline and spite, the same kind that had carried him through his own numerous battles.
He didn't have any new injuries outside of some bruising and minor cuts, 'thank the master', which pinpointed the cause of him falling unconscious as exhaustion, according to Zane.
"He needs sleep, a lot of it," Zane finally determined while Kai stood against the wall, fully prepared to move over to Lloyd's side as soon as he was allowed, "Kai, you'll need to reinforce it."
"After you shower," Kai whipped his head around to see Nya walking in, her under eyes looking only a few shades lighter than Lloyd's, "you smell horrible. I'll take first watch."
"Are you su-"
"Positive, we all took a vote on it," Nya's smirk lit up her face enough for Kai to know that it was mostly a joke, "go shower."
"I'll be back after I'm done," Kai relented, stopping to pull Nya into a tight hug as he found himself overwhelmed with pride that overtook the panic for a few, brief moments, "I'm so, so proud of you."
"Thanks," she returned the hug until he let go, "now go get clean, before I start gagging."
Kai couldn't help but let out a laugh as he found it in himself to go, knowing that Lloyd was perfectly safe with Nya and Zane.
"I have never seen…" Kai was going to add "someone who was that hurt two days ago escape Zane's watch for the third time in twenty four hours", but then he was reminded of after they defeated the Overlord the first time and without discussing it with each other, all tried to pull through it without getting medical attention and kept it to himself.
But at least he had given up on going that route after that, unlike a certain green ninja.
"Look, there's no way he would have gone outside in this," Nya gestured to the raging thunderstorm outside the window, "but we need to find him before he does."
"Lloyd!" Kai called out as he and Nya went in separate directions to divide and conquer, "Lloyd, hide and seek at eleven p.m in the middle of a thunderstorm is a really bad ide-" he was cut off by the generator turning off and The Bounty being encased in darkness.
"Great, just great," he muttered, lighting his hand ablaze before continuing to make his way through the ship, "Lloyd!"
He found himself making his way towards the very bottom of the ship; while it was now a glorified storage unit, there was a small, condensed training course down there, the same one Lloyd always took his anger out on when he didn't want to be seen.
He really hoped he wasn't foolish enough to train with fresh injuries, but he also knew that if he was, it was in order to avoid what was really bothering him.
Kai didn't hear any noise coming from behind the closed door, even when he knocked, but he still found himself opening it regardless with a "Lloyd? You in here, buddy."
It was silent for a few beats even as he briefly shined the fire in his hand throughout the room, but that's when he heard a voice coming from behind the door.
"I'm right here."
"Oh, thank the master-" Kai muttered as he shut the door enough so he could get down beside Lloyd, the fire in his hand illuminating the dark circles under his eyes in the worst way which subsequently quelled the anger that had been building since Zane had told them he had escaped again, "you scared us."
"I didn't mean to."
"What is going on, Lloyd?" Kai asked, even though he had a guess in mind after the events of the last month, "you've always been a bit of a flight risk, but this is…you've really outdone yourself."
"Can you go ahead and take me back?"
"So you can run off while everyone is sleeping?" He waited for the inevitable scowl, but still reached over and gently rested his hand on Lloyd's knee when it came, "I'm here for you, whenever you're ready to talk."
"Can you…can you please take me back?"
"Yeah," Kai resigned as he stood up before holding out his hand and helping Lloyd to his feet before leading the way back to his room.
"Oh, thank goodness," Nya muttered as she pulled Lloyd into a tight hug, but Kai could tell that Lloyd's heart wasn't in returning it as he lightly squeezed back, "I'm so glad you're okay."
As Nya helped him back into bed, Kai had to stop himself from pulling her away and voicing his concern that maybe, just maybe, this was the thing that had fully broken Lloyd.
Ever since they had gotten him back, the metaphoric light in his eyes had faded and had been replaced by a void that was impossible to read, one that made Kai feel sick; he couldn't help but wonder if Morro digging into Lloyd's memory and using his body had caused the Lloyd they knew to go down with the preeminent.

Note
I love your one shot about Lloyd and his twin and about the tomorrow tea. I was wondering if you if it’s not too much trouble if you have any hc about the aftermath like what happened when Lloyd arrived home, twin’s reaction to their suddenly being older, etc?
You got it!
Word count: 685
Ninjago - Being Lloyd's Younger Twin After the Tomorrow's Tea Incident
Part I here
You bounced your leg impatiently. It had been several hours since your brother Lloyd had left to help the ninjas, and you were starting to get worried. You had both been instructed to stay put while the ninjas responded to a distress call, but when you received a call from Jay requesting that Lloyd (specifically him, and not you) bring their weapons, Lloyd decided to oblige him. You tried to convince him to let you tag along, but gave up pretty quickly when you realized that you could have the TV all to yourself.
That was several hours ago. The TV was no longer of interest to you—you were watching the dark sky outside more than the screen.
You stood up, resolving to call one of the ninjas to see what was going on. Before you even picked up the phone you heard the unmistakable hiss of the Bounty docking on the roof above, and with a rush of relief you hurried up.
You were met first with Nya, who smiled at you, but there was something off about the smile. You’d almost say there was pity in it, but you couldn’t be sure.
Jay, Cole, Kai, Zane, Wu. They were all shooting similarly pitiful looks at you as they each passed in succession. You ignored them, looking past them for your brother.
“Where’s Lloyd?”
You felt a hand on your shoulder, and Nya’s sympathetic face appeared beside you. “Y/n, there’s something you should know before you see him.”
You didn’t like her tone. Clearly, something bad had happened. You glanced over the ninjas. None of them appeared to be too roughed up, and with a sinking feeling you wondered if that meant that Lloyd had taken the brunt of an attack.
“What happened?” You asked, trying to keep the panic out of your voice. “Is he okay?”
“I’m fine,” a new voice came from the direction of the Bounty. It was familiar, but… altered. As if the speaker was using a voice filter.
You whirled around to see Lloyd. Was that Lloyd? It couldn’t be. He was so tall! And his voice; it was slightly deeper than that of the Lloyd you knew.
But he had the same platinum hair. His emerald eyes sparkled with his signature charm—part mischief, part maturity, all lovable.
Your apprehension must have shown on your face, because the stranger (or was he not a stranger?) laughed.
“I look a little different now, huh?”
You heard the ninjas scrambling to explain, but their voices were just noise to you as you stared confoundedly at your brother. You caught enough to understand that some kind of magic potion had caused him to age several years at once; everything else went straight through one ear and out the other.
Lloyd was smiling somewhat awkwardly at you. You didn’t like it. His chiseled face was so different from the youthful roundness that you were accustomed to.
This isn’t my brother. But it was.
The distrusting way you looked at him that night continued for several more days. Every time you laid eyes on him, it was as if your brain couldn’t compute that this was the same boy you’d grown up with. No matter how many times you corrected yourself, you just couldn’t seem to grasp that this wasn’t a stranger.
These thoughts weren’t helped by his shift in behavior. He had played video games with you mere hours before on that fateful night, and now he wouldn’t even sit on the couch with you. He was always training or helping the ninjas with their duties. You were lucky if he gave you so much as a passing glance, let alone a minute of his time.
You tried to tempt him: turning up the volume while you played his favorite games, deliberately splaying Starfarer comics on the table, anything that might’ve caught the old Lloyd’s attention. But this new Lloyd was simply too busy. Too responsible. Too mature.
You stared at your round young face in the mirror. Tears pricked your eyes as you whispered to yourself:
“He grew up without me.”

my dog passed so I wrote tlnm Lloyd angst
Lloyd’s life was always a living hell. Between being pretty much paralyzed for the first three years of his life, having his dad turn evil when he was only five years old, and the whole world wanting him dead for something he wasn’t in control of, how could it be considered anything but that?
But Lloyd never would’ve guessed it would’ve gone this far. Sure he expected some health issues, but not this. He was only 17 for crying out loud!
But that wouldn’t change anything. Just because he was young didn’t mean he was too young.
Everyone went through it eventually, some quicker than others, and with his predisposed health conditions, and extremely unhealthy lifestyle, it was no wonder this was happening.
Some may question why he was so certain, some may think he was just being dramatic, and some may say it was better off this way.
But Lloyd knew what was happening, and so did his mother, his father, his uncle, his grandma, and his cousin.
He could tell because of the way they looked at him nowadays.
He could tell because of his mother’s crying.
He could tell because of his father’s sad silence when he was around.
He could tell because of his uncle's worried suggestions of homeschool.
He could tell because of his grandma’s constant requests to visit.
He could tell because of his cousin's desperate attempts to get him to quit fighting.
To anyone who wasn’t human it was obvious what was happening.
It was heard, it was smelt, it was seen, and it was felt. The only ones who wouldn’t realize it would be the ones causing it.
He was dying.
Plain and simple.
After more than 10 years of straight up torture, it was no wonder. Pretty much every day he would have to wake up early, (if he slept at all) have to walk to school and get harassed on the way there, get there and again be harassed and bullied, only to have to struggle through school just to get to lunch time, where people steal anything he brought, only to have to save the same people killing him from his own father, who didn’t even choose this to begin with.
Lloyd was becoming tired, weak, sick, and frail.
He knew his time was coming, but he also knew that he had around two years left, which he hoped was enough time for his father to recover so that Ninjago would be safe without him.

"Everything will be fine..."
Most creative ideas begin with something very simple. It could be someone unusual you meet, somewhere strange you find yourself, a turn of phrase heard in conversation, or a news article you stumble on one morning while trying to roust yourself with coffee. Or it could be cracking open your parents’ high school yearbook on a visit to them in St. Louis and seeing a photo of your father, only to wonder if you would’ve been friends with him had you lived back then. This is what happened to Bob Gale, who immediately thought it was an interesting hook for a comedy and lobbed it over to his longtime writing partner, Robert Zemeckis, who was then in the midst of trying to salvage a chaotic adventure movie with two temperamental stars in the Mexican jungle. Bob Z, in turn, had been thinking of the character of a mother who always told her children what a prim and proper young woman she was when it fact she had been as promiscuous as all get out. The pair quickly fused the two ideas with the concept of traveling through time and set about building the story for what would become one of the truly perfect film comedies of all time, “Back To The Future.”
When the film was released in the summer of ’85 (after considerable script changes and the MASSIVE casting swap of changing the lead actor midway through shooting), I knew nothing about it beyond the fact that it was led by that pipsqueak Alex P. Keaton from “Family Ties” and the effervescently loopy Reverend Jim from a favorite sitcom, “Taxi.” Back then personal computers weren’t a glint in the eye, and all you had to go on were the tidbits you could find in Starlog magazine. One lazy summer day, though, I heard a song from the film on the radio at Lake Nacimiento. This was, of course, the undeniable pop classic by Huey Lewis and The News, “The Power of Love,” and after that I was IN. The film itself was, in retrospect, the perfect summer moviegoing experience. Brilliantly written and structured, flawlessly paced and performed, and shot through with that genuine, indefinable sense of magic that only happens very rarely in films (and as I always say, almost never these days).
On its face, the film’s plot of sounds like something the Big Three networks of the time might’ve based a wacky family sitcom around. What elevates it (and indeed the whole wild and imaginative trilogy) above just being a clever male adolescent fantasy is the way Bobs Zemeckis and Gale took their inspired collision of genres and layered it with heart, captured it with visual ingenuity (humble genius Dean Cundey again) and added a sense of bite and eccentricity to the humor to build something timeless and endlessly rewatchable. They were also gifted with a cast, led by the boundless energy and Harold Lloyd-esque physical comedy of Michael J. Fox and the magical, sentient dervish that is Christopher Lloyd, that included the winsome horniness of Lea Thompson, the fumbling oddball charisma of Crispin Glover and of course the proto Trump, psychotic bully idiocy of Thomas F. Wilson. Topping off the whole grand Lou’s Café milkshake of it all was a sweet, sweeping score by Zemeckis’ longtime musical voice, Alan Silvestri.
For the film’s 40th anniversary, Universal Studios brought the story to life as part of their new “Fan Fest Nights.” The centerpiece of that experience was undoubtably spending time on the small town set of Hill Valley, which still stands on the fabled backlot as a testament to how ingrained in our culture the exuberance of Zemeckis and Gale’s story remains. With prop cars, carnival booths, old fashioned summer food, Marvin Berry’s band and a host of actors breathlessly recreating parts of the film with guests, it was like the block party 10 year old me only dreamt of back in little ol’ Cayucos. The warmth and reverence for the film, and its place in pop cinema history, was palpable and infectious. Whether the films have the same currency in today’s “here today, gone tomorrow” disposable way of engaging with “content” remains to be seen. But for me it will always stand, like “Jaws,” “The Godfather,” and “It’s A Wonderful Life,” as a perfect model of imagination, a loving contraption from some of film’s most creative minds, who came together at a singular point in time and left us all with something joyfully ingenious to share, far into the future.

I will break you, but you will also break me
@ch3rryfl0wr -thank you very much for request, I hope you like it,bc I really do!
This takes place in season 9, when Garmadon captured Misako and more ninja's allies. Now Garmadon singles Misako out because he wants her to tell him where Lloyd is. Misako tries to flirt her way out of prison.
"Bring her inside." Garmadon ordered his guards, and they led Misako inside.
"And take off her chains," he added, turning towards her to look at her.
"Garmadon," Misako said calmly.
She had been taken aback when they brought her to Borg's tower, especially after what had happened when she took his helmet.
"Misako," Garmadon said quietly as he watched her.
She knew she could get the best out of this situation.
"You must be wondering why you're here," Garmadon continued in a deep voice.
"I don't ask," Misako firmly replied, although she didn't really feel that way. "You want information. But why do you think you'll get it from me?"
"Because I know you best," Garmadon was clearly surprised by the question.
She hated what she was about to learn next, but she knew she had to, for Lloyd's sake.
"And maybe I know you better than anyone else?" She asked.
"I wouldn't bet on it. I'm no longer the same man," Garmadon smiled, devoid of any joy.
"Nor am I," Misako said, taking a step closer to him. "But I know you too well, Garmadon. Why did you call me here?"
His words, if he even remembered them. It had to work.
It left him speechless for a moment.
"Tell me where Lloyd is!" Garmadon demanded, but even he didn't sound sure.
"Speak!" Garmadon cut her off.
"You know they escaped unintentionally," Misako said as she approached him once more.
She had to break him.
She hoped that there was at least a little feeling for her in him.
"I don't know where Lloyd is," she was so close that she could almost whisper in his ear.
"I know you know," Garmadon said quietly.
He seemed uncomfortable, as if her closeness was unsettling him.
"I really don't know," Misako said desperately, trying her best not to break down, but she couldn't help it.
She had to break him if she wanted to help Lloyd. But how do you break someone without feelings, without breaking yourself who feels.
"Then you're useless," Garmadon coldly concluded.
"Garmadon," Misako said, putting her hands on his forearms.
"Surely there's not a single good part of you left." Her heart was pounding wildly, just like his.
He didn't move.
She had to try harder.
"But if there is still a good part of you," Misako said, standing on her tiptoes to whisper in his ear.
"Then I know you would never harm Lloyd or me."
She almost felt his shiver down his spine. Her voice trembled with emotions.
'This is all a game.' She tried to bring herself back to reality without breaking.
"And what if I still have some feelings?" Garmadon asked, gently holding her chin.
"Then we still love you, both Lloyd and I," Misako whispered as Garmadon wrapped his arms around her waist.
"And we want you to come back." Misako continued whispering in his ear.
She knew this was probably her only chance to break him. She softly touched his face with her fingers.
"Is there a chance for you to come back?" She asked, hoping, although she knew it was impossible.
"I..." Garmadon said, moving away from her and her touch.
"Why are you doing this to me, Misako?" He asked her, turning away from her.
"Why?"
"Because I love you."
Half a lie, half the truth. She loved him, but she wasn't doing this for that reason.
He turned back towards her. She tried to look into his eyes for as long as possible.
He seemed to avoid her gaze.
"You're lying," he said bitterly and turned again to the window of the room.
"I'm not lying," Misako said gently, approaching him.
Her hands gently brushed through his hair. It wasn't hard for her to pretend. If she was pretending at all.
She didn't even know herself.
"I know you're still the man I loved." She told him, and this time he turned to look into her eyes.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes," Misako whispered into his ear, wrapping her arms around his neck so she could hold herself at his height.
He held her around the waist with one pair of arms as he gently held her chin with the other.
Before making his next move, he looked into her eyes. His eyes were so vulnerable...
Misako knew she had him now.
He gently moved her chin and planted a kiss on her lips. It surprised her so much that she was left breathless as his tongue touched her sharp teeth.
When he parted their lips, he caressed her neck with his lips a few times before returning to her ear.
"What do you want, Misako?" He was trembling all the time, just like her.
This was the question she had been waiting for all this time.
Even though she didn't want to leave him now that she felt he was coming back.
She felt like she would betray the man she loved.
"Let me go to Lloyd," she said after all. Her maternal love was stronger.
"If you love me," Garmadon said sadly, "Wouldn't you want to stay with me? Rule with me?"
"I can't in any way," Misako tried not to cry. The emotions overwhelmed her. "Not until I know you won't hurt our son."
"It's all about him again," Garmadon said sadly and pushed her away.
"I knew you didn't love me, that this was all an act." He spoke with disdain, although he seemed like he might cry.
"No," Misako said, trying to reach him again, but he pushed her fiercely.
At least that was true.
"Guards!" He called, and the guards immediately appeared.
"Take her to prison, I'll deal with her again after I get rid of that green ninja."
With those words, the guard grabbed her roughly, and she tried to resist.
"Stop," she told him"Please lisen.."
He turned to look at her but didn't address her.
Instead, he turned to the guard. "Make sure not to hurt her." They took her away.
She felt terrible because she knew she had only done harm to Lloyd with this, and she had completely lost hope of bringing back Garmadon.

Whumptober Day 24: Neglect
DAY 24! THE BRUISE ANGST IS HEREEEEEEEE! I'm so proud of how this one turned out, but it is definitely one of my more rambly pieces, and that's saying something for me. I am also eating chocolate chip cookies at 3 am and realizing that the chocolate chips taste a lot like m&ms and I hate m&ms. Anyway-
Taglist: @splinnters @abigailxoxo @tornoleander @mondothebombo @ghostwalloper @toastingpencils37 @lightning-chicken
Words: 2.3k
Tears dropped onto the crinkled sheet of paper, and Jay was quick to try and wipe them away before they could smudge. He didn’t have the energy to try and write this note again.
First Master, has it really only been two weeks?
The hole in his chest felt like it had been there for decades, growing and festering and burning with a longing that nothing could fill. Not anymore. It ate at him from the inside out, and Jay wondered how there was anything left of him at the end of each day. Sometimes, he thought about how every inhale must’ve just gone right through the hole, because he could never seem to catch his breath. He doubted that he ever would again.
She left him breathless in more ways than one.
Walking through the monastery was like walking through a crypt. His dufflebag thumped against his back with soft sounds, Jay trying to make as little noise as possible. The building, normally alive with energy and practically vibrating with their presence now lay silent; more than one person had died in this place. He wasn’t going to be the one to disturb it.
Jay ran his fingers along the walls, glancing at all of the scuffs and the burns and every mark that they managed to leave on this place. There was the dent in the wall from when they were trying to move in the new couch, and there was the scuff on the floor from when Zane froze it over and the team had a sledding competition indoors. Master Wu had been so mad at them, but that didn’t stop him from trying to join in.
But there wasn’t any of that anymore.
It had been far too long since he saw Kai. The last time he saw the fire ninja, it was with a packed duffle bag on his way out after declaring that he needed a break from everything, from all of them, but Jay knew the truth. His grief was loud, and the others couldn’t even go an hour without hearing it, and Jay could tell that they were getting sick of it, sick of him. Jay couldn’t say that he blamed Kai for leaving, because if he had to be around a crying and blubbering mess 24/7 then he would want out too.
Why did everyone always leave? Why was it always him?
He could handle one of his brothers leaving, but Jay thought that he had started to truly reach his breaking point when his little brother left too. At least Lloyd looked regretful as he did so, only silently showing the team the acceptance letter for his new job as a window washer. Jay didn’t shed any tears when Kai left, mostly because he knew that the red ninja wouldn’t have appreciated it, but he couldn’t stop them from falling when Lloyd walked down the stairs and didn’t look back.
This wasn’t supposed to happen. None of this was supposed to happen.
Zane shut his emotions off not even a day later, and Jay knew that he was part of the equation. The ice ninja had been one of Jay’s biggest support pillars, especially with Cole off and doing First Master knows what, but there was only so much emotional turmoil that Zane could take. Emotions were hard enough for him to process, but processing Jay’s on top of that? Jay should’ve known better.
Jay felt his brother’s absence now whenever he tried to confide in him, only met with a cold and biting indifference instead of Zane’s warm comforts. And the hole in his chest only grew even larger.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered to no one in particular, fingers tracing over a group picture that they had taken years ago. Zane was smiling, and Jay hoped that one day his brother would be able to have his smile back. Maybe the emotion meter didn’t suppress him forever.
Pixal thought the same thing. She had faith that one day Zane would feel the urge to turn his emotions back on, to come back to them again, and she was perfectly content (at least on the surface) to wait until the other half of her heart was ready to be with them. Jay wished that he could share in her optimism, but he couldn’t. He just couldn’t. Not when he lost his other half, and his dumb and stupid choices cost Pixal her other half too.
There was so much grief.
He didn’t blame Kai for leaving. He didn’t blame Lloyd for leaving either. But he did blame them for leaving him alone.
And the worst part? Jay blamed himself over everyone else.
Because the only constant in all of these equations was him. He had never been great at math in school, mostly just getting by with passing grades and enough know-how to make his engineering skills work, but he knew how to read the signs. And he was the only common denominator, which meant that he was the first thing to go.
Jay felt like he was stuck in a math problem trying to be solved by a young child; here the blue ninja was, the one puzzle piece that didn’t fit, and yet the child kept taking away all of the numbers that actually needed to be there. First, they divided his Yang by her own element, then they subtracted his brothers away to the other side of the equal sign. Zane was split in half for whatever reason, likely to try and mitigate Jay’s mere existence, and whatever child was playing with them couldn’t decide where to keep Cole switching from one side to the other and then the other. Jay himself was being divided into something smaller and smaller and smaller, and he didn’t think that he was going to get any of those parts of himself back.
First Master, was he really comparing his grief to a goddamn math equation? Was this how far he’d gone down the rabbit hole?
Maybe Kai was right. Maybe Jay was starting to lose it.
It was a good thing that this was going to be his last night in the monastery for a long time.
Opening the front door felt more like a death omen than anything else, but Jay couldn’t bring himself to care. His hoodie was heavy on his shoulders, and Jay took a deep breath of the chilly air to try and freeze his lungs. The map was in his bag, even though he knew the way to where he was going like the back of his hand. He made sure to memorize it all those years ago, just so that he wouldn’t fail her again. So much for that.
He put the note up on the wall next to the door with a spare pushpin, making sure that it wouldn’t fall before stepping back and shutting the door behind him as he walked onto the stairs. Here’s to hoping that it was legible enough for one of them to be able to read it; his handwriting tended to get worse whenever he was upset. At least it might be somewhat entertaining to try and piece together his goodbye like a Ceasar cipher.
Chuckling humorlessly, Jay stepped down, walking directly past the dragon statue in the middle of the courtyard. Maybe if Master Wu weren’t so caught up in all of his scrolls, then he would’ve noticed Kai and Lloyd’s absences. If he didn’t miss one of his prized pupils or even his own nephew, then why would he ever notice that Jay had gone missing? The problem child, the one who always had to be looked after.
The last stringer.
Not this time.
He refused to be the last man standing this time. Not when she wasn’t here to stand with him.
“Jay?” someone called, and Jay’s heart jumped into his chest. His brother wasn’t supposed to be home tonight; that was why the blue ninja chose to leave on this night and not during the day when he would actually be able to see.
Feeling like a deer in headlights, Jay turned around, well aware how suspicious it looked that he was dressed in simple jeans and a hoodie rather than his gi. Wu hated it whenever they walked around in anything but their gi in his presence. Cole looked his brother up and down, and Jay knew that he probably looked horrible. “Cole?”
Eyes narrowed, Cole stepped down the stairs and onto the stone floor, his boots heavy. “Where are you going?”
“I’m leaving.” There. Keep it short, simple, sweet, everything that would keep the conviersation as contained as possible so he could scram before Wu or, heaven forbid, Pixal found out about what he was doing. Although Jay was pretty sure that Pixal already knew. “You weren’t supposed to be home tonight.”
“The stakeout fell through, and the police said that they would take care of it,” Cole explained, “were you planning this?”
He stayed quiet. Cole stepped forward, Jay trying and failing to hold back his tears as his brother snagged his arm. “Jay—”
Jay whipped around and crashed into Cole, locking him into a bearhug even though the blue ninja had to stand on his tiptoes to make it happen. Cole reciprocated, crushing his brother against his chest and burning his face in Jay’s curly hair. He inhaled the sweet scent of Jay’s shampoo, and Jay knew that Cole knew.
“You can’t leave too,” Cole whispered, grip tightening on Jay’s hoodie. Jay tucked his face into the corner of his brother’s neck, trying to ingrain the scent of warm earth and cinnamon in his mind. “What am I going to do without you?”
“I-I don’t know,” Jay admitted, “but I can’t stay here, Cole. I just…I just can’t. There’s too much of her here.”
“But doesn’t that make it better? To be surrounded by the people you love?” Cole was grasping at straws, trying anything that he could think of to convince Jay to stay. But both of them knew that once Jay made up his mind, he wasn’t backing down.
“Except I’m not,” Jay said, and he was regretting every word that was coming out of his mouth. Why didn’t he just walk away? “Lloyd and Kai are gone. Zane’s emotions, what made him him are gone, you and Wu are never around and Pixal is barely keeping it together. I-I can’t keep waking up in an empty house, Cole.”
“Wherever you’re going is just as empty, Jay.”
“At least at the lighthouse,” and he was surprised at how comfortable he was letting his destination slip; maybe it was because his mind realized subconsciously how close Jay was to giving up. Not just on everything else, but on himself, “I won’t have to worry about driving any of you away anymore.”
Cole lifted Jay off the ground, bringing back memories from when they were younger, before they ever had to fight and certainly before anyone had to die. “You could never drive me away.”
“I can’t take that chance, you know that. I need to leave.”
“No you don’t!” Jay could feel Cole’s tears starting to soak into his sweatshirt. “Jay, please, we can get you some help and we can figure this out—”
“There’s no figuring this out, Cole,” Jay sobbed. “She’s gone because of me. Kai and Lloyd both left because of me. Zane turned off his emotions because of me. I am the problem here, Cole, and I can’t stay here and keep being a burden to you and Pix.”
A large inhale. “I love you, Jay.”
Jay didn’t know if he could say it back. The last time he told one of his family members that he loved them, he never saw them again. She died. No matter how hard he tried to make the sounds, moving his jaw and bumbling like an idiot, Jay couldn’t form the words; he couldn’t remember ever feeling so ashamed. “I’m sorry.”
Cole just repeated it and held him tighter. Jay didn’t know how long this hug was going to last, but he wasn’t going to be the first one to let go.
His brother finally pulled back, and Jay noticed the black eye blossoming on Cole’s face. When did Cole get in a fight? How did he not notice it before? Reaching up, Jay tenderly brushed against it, making sure to be careful. Cole exhaled shakily, bending down and grabbing up the duffle bag that must’ve fallen off of Jay’s shoulder in the hug.
“If I let you go, you have to promise me something,” Cole said, his tone grave.
“What?”
A deep breath. “If you ever, ever, start feeling like you’re going to hurt yourself you call me or Zane immediately. That is an emergency. I will be there in a heartbeat. I’ve lost a lot over the years, Jay, and I will not lose you.”
There was a look in Cole’s eyes that Jay hadn’t seen in a long time. “I will.”
Jay hated that they both knew that it was a lie.
Handing him the duffle bag, Cole’s lip started wobbling; it was something that Jay hadn’t seen since they were still teenagers. He rubbed at his eyes, and Jay copied the action before turning on his heel. Jay knew that if he looked back now, he would never leave.
Why did this feel wrong?
Maybe he wasn’t the last man standing now, but who was going to take his place? Would it be Cole, or Zane, or Pixal? Was he really okay with damning them the same way he had been damned all those years, walking away from a burden that he knew how to carry when the others didn’t?
None of it mattered. It didn’t matter. Not anymore.
And Jay let the monastery doors slam shut behind him, metal crashing against metal with a shrill sound that made the hairs rise on the back of his neck. He started the trek down the stairs of the monastery, and he couldn't help but feel like he was starting to descend into the pits of hell as he went.

Corinne must call on her friends to stop Severine and to save her island home.

Can headcanons 🔫 hand ‘em over
(Jamie babysitter? First words? Accidental surprise powers?)
I was like 'can headcanons gun'??? What??? Is that a meme?? And then I realized
Baby!Camellia HCs GO!
General-
Cam's "birthday" is October 27th! (...which is the day Enter the Aftershock happened. Totally planned on Jesse's part.)
At first she sleeps, like, all the time, to the point that Jesse thinks she's sick or something (she's just extra exhausted from suddenly being spawned into existence). And Cole, always glad to have an excuse for nap, will sprawl out on the couch and cradle her on his chest so she can rest to his heartbeat.
...And then she shifts quickly into nearly never sleeping at all, constantly being fussy and crying, to the point that everyone in the Monastery has to take shifts staying up with her so they all can get some sleep (though Jesse takes on the bulk of these cuz he feels primarily responsible, but no one's actually mad nor minds)
They all then discover she will fall asleep instantly to Cole's Glow Worm song......and wonder if her crying all night is better than enduring Cole's singing. (Jesse can sing her to sleep too, but it takes way longer and you've gotta rock her at the same time)
She gets frightened by unfamiliar things very easily- unrecognizable sounds, new places, different faces, certain sensations (like putting a foot on grass/in water), etc. Lloyd is the one that patiently tries to help her adjust to the overwhelmingness of the world because he knows
She is very grabby, tugging at hair and clothes when and where she can and poking people's faces. She also likes messing with Lloyd's pointy ears (which he'd normally hates, but he can make an exception just this once)
She will steal what she can get her hands on, and will run off giggling with her loot. Cole's vibration tracing helps keep track of her baby crimes, thank the master.
She is obsessed with unicorns. Jay makes the mistake of gifting her a stuffed rainbow plush unicorn that they call 'Corn' and she almost never lets it go and turns into a monster when you try to take it from her.
("MY CORN!! MY CORN!!" "Jay what have you done" "I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS CUTE!!!")
Pixal is the one that designs/builds her bedroom, while Zane and Nya fill it with all the much needed supplies. Maybe too many supplies.
Wu is the one that gave her the headband with the pink camellia (he knew what was up)
Kai: ...I personally think she's got enough hair to get The Kai style~ Jesse: I'll kill you :D
Babysitting!-
Kai's idea of babysitting is taking Cam for rides in the Charger to get her to fall asleep (with Jesse nagging him constantly to not drive like a maniac). At first Cam is intimidated by the car rides, but winds up loving watching the scenery whiz by and enables Kai to go faster (which entirely defeated the point of the car rides in the first place)
"...All right don't tell your dads" *floors it* "WHEEEEEE!"
Nya and especially Jay get baby fever whenever it's their turn to watch, and use Cam for potential future practice. Nya tests out if she'd even like to be a mom...while Jay is up to his arms in notes on parenting snksnksn
Zane is a godsend when she starts teething, constantly making icecubes and freezing stuff over for her to gum on (otherwise she starts gnawing on his and Pixal's colder exteriors instead). He also makes the best homemade babyfood. Jesse tries and fails to not be jealous.
(Cole will also gladly eat the baby food for himself "just to make sure" until Zane smacks him with a spoon)
Lloyd doesn't get many opportunities to babysit (too busy being overly important) but he always gets a little choked up whenever he holds Cam and marvels at her mere existence and he can never fully explain to anyone why.
Jamie is the go-to babysitter when random crises pop up (Or when everyone needs a date night/me time ...or Jesse and Cole just generally spent.)
Jesse: *appears on Jamie's doorstep* *drops Cam in his arms* Jamie: Wha-? Jesse: *collapses on floor* We just need like twenty minutes– Jamie: ...You look like you need a thousand years
Jamie also takes hundreds of photos of this child. Jesse keeps all his on his phone while Cole carries three wallets full of the prints.
Antonia will babysit on short notice if Jamie's not an option, but she'll always drag Nelson into helping her out. Antonia is also the one that teaches Cam how to read, and Nelson likes to fill out coloring books with Cam (even if Cam's "coloring" is just smearing pink across the whole page).
Cam cannot be left for longer than three days at Grandpa Lou's house. She'll come back humming and singing show tunes she doesn't know the words of at the top of her lungs.
Being left with Grandma Caroline means that she comes home with baskets full of food with her (Cole likes leaving her with Grandma for this reason, along with not having his kid obsessed with showtunes)
Cam is only left with Miranda when no other options are available to (which...seems to happen way too often). Miranda doesn't mind babysitting and spending time with her niece but a) she's not really a kid person and b) she's a horrible influence lmfao. Still, she becomes Cam's biggest idol and inspiration (and Jesse is officially convinced that the universe spites him specifically)
Firsts! (And Magic)-
There's bets going around for what her first word would be but nothing could compare Cole and Jesse for the sucker punch that was when "Miwa" started pouring from their baby's mouth
(Miranda won a very hefty 1000 bucks that day, and Jesse still insists she cheated somehow)
(Her second word is "ubican" –unicorn– and Cole throws his arms up in defeat)
Cole attempts to make Cam's first bite of solid food come from a piece of cake. Lloyd loses his mind explaining why that's a terrible idea.
When she firsts learns to wiggle/crawl, Jay play-races her across the floor and lets her win.
Zane is the one present when she stands for the first time and the sheer excitement in his yells prompt the whole building to come running.
Jesse straight up cries in joy when Cam start toddling towards him for the first time (he was bringing her a freshly-washed Corn, but the point remains)
When Cam gets more mobile in general, she will copy Cole in every single thing he does. The way he stands, the faces he makes —even from across the room, if Cole is present, she is mimicking him in some capacity. He casually lifts a table one time while vacuuming and Cam is suddenly convinced she must be strong as well. She is not and learns the hard way.
Due to essentially and quite literally being made of magic, some of Cam's powers manifest even before True Potential, but she can't control them whatsoever.
"...is our daughter burping sparkles? I think she just burped sparkles."
Nya and Pixal rig up video baby monitors in every room on the monastery the first time Cam gets the hiccups and starts warping
Things will start randomly flying around her room in the middle of the night along with loud sounds and flashing lights scaring the absolute life out of everyone—but that's how they learn when she's having a nightmare. ("Why can't she just cry like a normal baby?! It's like something out of Paranormal Activity!" "KAI.")
Jesse is simply playing patty-cake with her and white camellias start popping up out of thin air.
Cam learns that she can shock people whenever she laughs and finds it extremely funny when people yelp in surprise, making her laugh even harder (and shock even harder. Cycle repeats). This does not work on Jay and that makes her pouty.
Don't make her angry. That's when the fireworks appear.
"Cole, where's the baby?" "...You're not gonna believe me, Jess." "...I'm sure whatever ridiculously insane thing it is, I can handle it." "...she sneezed and is now currently floating on the ceiling." "WHAT?!"
She, like Jesse, also cries glitter.

little writing practice snippet thing
for the au where show Lloyd ends up in another universe where the only major events went up to like season 2 minus misako abandoning loid
read after the more if u want
-
Lloyd felt himself instinctively flinch after a gust of wind blew past him. His grip tightened on the Bounty's railings. Out of the corner of his eye, Lloyd could see Kai staring at him.
It wasn't his Kai though. His Kai wouldn't wonder why Lloyd flinched at something like the wind. His Kai wouldve gone over to him just to be near, just so Lloyd knew Kai's presence was there.
This Kai only stared in interest. He was probably pondering that very question.
Lloyd turned around to see that Loid, this world's version of himself, had finally made his way out to the deck. Lloyd felt his stomach twist whenever he saw Loid's golden eyes, golden armor, or that dyed brown hair. It was like seeing a miniature version of his dad. He quickly became nauseous upon the thought of his dad.
"Sooo, what are you two doing?" Asked Loid, his voice chipper and still raspy and higher pitched. Apparently the tea incident never happened in this world either.
"Just catching my breath," Lloyd responded, "we're landing in Ninjago City next, right?" Loid gave a curt nod. Lloyd turned around again to look out into the distance. He wondered if Cyrus Borg was around, or how far technology advanced. He'd heavily questioned them beforehand about Borg Tower, only to be met with the fact such a tower didn't exist in this world. Only a memorial commemorating anyone who lost their lives during the Final Battle.
At least they can call it the Final Battle, Lloyd thought bitterly. For him, the Final Battle only became the first of many battles. For Loid and this world, it stopped there. Nothing more other than minor skirmishes and petty crimes.
The hope was to first find Cyrus Borg or Mystake, whoever could help deduce what brought Lloyd into another dimension in the first place. The ship came to a slow stop.
"Sorry guys!" A voice yelled from up top. "The winds are becoming a bit too wild for it to be safe to cross these mountains. We'll have to fly at a lower altitude and wait it out for a bit" Nya explained, walking down to the deck. Lloyd only now noticed that Jay and Cole were right behind her.
"So while we have to wait, how about we test your skills?" Kai offered, a cocky grin on his face.
"Knock it off Kai" Cole teased, jokingly punching Kai in the arm.
"You don't have to accept!" Kai affirmed, still rubbing the area where Cole punched him.
"I wouldn't mind" Lloyd responded, not letting his expression change. After all, he was rather curious about the Ninjas skill level too. "5 v 1 or 1 v 1?" Lloyd asked, nearly catching himself from saying 6 v 1. Nya hadn't been trained in this world as the water ninja.
"Now what makes you think you can handle 5 v 1?" Loid asked almost cautiously, with curiosity creeping into his voice. "You'll have to see" Lloyd smiled, leaving everyone slightly confused and challenged.
"How about we four go agaisnt him first, then we have the two loids duke it out!" Jay suggested, making a big hand motion when he described the loid fight. Loid and Nya backed up to give the rest of them space. The golden weapons had also been combined into the Mega Weapon before being sent off into space, thought the Overlord had not returned in this world.
Yet, a sadistic thought crept in. Lloyd hadn't gone in depth about his own timeline to the other ninja, maybe out of some selfish desire to see them go through the same suffering he had to.
...
He'd tell them later.
For now, Lloyd readied himself. He didn't power up or grab a sword. Zane gave him an odd look. Lloyd ignored him.
"And begin!"
Lloyd let Kai charge at him first, easily side stepping his advances before catching Jay's nunchucks. Jay was stronger than he thought, so Lloyd flung into a Spinjitzu tornado before throwing Jay onto Cole. A shuriken barely whipped past his face before Zane came and attacked with his other shuriken. Lloyd punched and dodged before getting abruptly kicked from the back and jumped to avoid Cole's scythe swing. Kai and Jay both used Spinjitzu while Cole and Zane kept him distracted.
So their fighting skills aren't all that bad, Lloyd thought to himself. Even though they lacked precise coordination with each other, it was still difficult to keep track of all 4 of them at once. Lloyd finally pulled out a small knife from his belt to block Kai's katana, his knees almost buckling from the amount of weight Kai had put into the swing.
He let go of the dagger and let Kai's sword fall to where Jay's nunchucks were swinging. Zane came at him again with both his shurikens while Cole came up behind him. Lloyd managed to out maneuver them again, but he was already panting. The others seemed much more exhausted than him, so Lloyd stretched his arms and taunted them again with a hand motion.
He really didn't want to use his power, if he needed to, he'd want it to be a surprise. This time Jay came at him with a Spinjitzu tornado, only he was much slower than what Lloyd was used to seeing. He simply moved out of the way and decided to go Kai first. Kai frantically tried to block with his swords at Lloyd's sudden advancement, with Lloyd taking out another dagger to disarm Kai.
A sword flew out of Kai's hand. Lloyd strained his arm upwards to catch the sword before kicking Kai to the ground. This fight has gone on for too long, Lloyd's mind echoed, it's time to end this.
He stood his ground in the middle and let the four of them surround him.
"We've got you cornered now!" Cole shouted enthusiastically, visibly tightening the grip on his scythe. The other three seemed equally prepared and confident. Lloyd slowly started to smirk. First Master, he had missed feeling this powerful.
He finally let green energy flow through him. The others didn't attack, but stared in wonder at the way Lloyd's eyes glowed and his hands produced bright green light. It must've been surprising, he'd already seen Loid's power and knew that his training had mostly gone to his golden power. Lloyd's mastery over green energy far surpassed any of the ninja in this world.
Zane was the first to react, but was still too slow compared to when Lloyd suddenly brought his hands together opposite parallel.
Lloyd started to hear a slow rhythmic clapping, and whipped his head around with everyone else to see Master Wu descending down the steps. "Your skills are masterful and powerful. I think it's safe to say my ninja do not hold a candle to you" Master Wu commented, his eyes twinkling with pride. "I-uh thank you Master" Lloyd stumbled, the words feeling like they were just spilling out of his mouth.
Green energy expelled everywhere as he moved his hands I'm opposite directions. It looked almost like a shockwave as the energy easily disarmed everybody and sent the ninja to the ground.
Lloyd walked over and reached his hand out to help Kai up, feeling awkward as Kai didn't grab his hand but instead continued to stare in disbelief.
Master Wu gave a warm smile, his gaze resting on everyone. "That being said, you all did wonderful and have clearly improved since the last time I have seen you all." Lloyd could see a few smaller smiles being exchanged between the ninja. Lloyd looked back over to where Nya and Loid was only to freeze.
His father. Not HIS father, but he wasn't even that different from the father Lloyd used to know. Garmadon met Lloyd's eyes with a look he couldn't place to any specific emotion. Lloyd looked away. He could feel his hands shaking from just meeting Garmadon's eyes.
"... Lloyd, how long have you been training with your green energy power?" Master Wu asked, staring right at Lloyd. He thought for a few moments. "5 years? Give or take a lot actually there were a lot of circumstances that made it difficult to track..." Lloyd answered, unsure of how he should go about answering that. He wasn't keen on explaining why he was several years older than Loid or why he wore green instead of gold.
He could tell that everyone knew he was hiding something, they just didn't know how much he wanted to keep under wraps. For now, Lloyd's lips stayed shut.
"It's nearly 7 and it looks like these winds won't be getting any better soon," said Garmadon. Lloyd gave another flinch from being startled, if anyone noticed, no one gave any indication. "Let's head inside and prepare dinner."
As everyone started to walk inside, Lloyd let himself take another deep breath, doing his best to ignore the bite of the wind.
Just a few more weeks, he told himself. It can't be much longer. But there is always the chance another portal can never be opened again, a lingering thought in the back of Lloyd's mind made itself known. He shook his head.
He didn't want to think about that possibility.
