On the left, Yuan-ti Pureblood. The least snakelike of the snake people. They usually only have one or two snake features, like forked tongues or scale patches, but are able to cast Suggestion! Otherwise they're basically just a human. At least it's not to hard to set up the scenario, as they're hiding everywhere, spying for information. The book also feels the need to mention they're traders...

On the right is the Bone Devil! Remember, top 8 of losers bracket got into tournament, this is one of them. 9 ft (2.7 m) tall and probably has enough handholds between the spikes to avoid being stabbed! The stinger is poisonous, and they can see in the dark. They're driven by hate, lust, and envy, and they're the law enforcement of hell. But they actually fanatically follow the law, will immediately turn on their fellows if one doesn't follow the law, and are at least open about being evil. So in some ways, actually less corrupt than actual law enforcement.

stoic illiterate unwilling assassin deeply in love with unfailingly kind rich sad gay man almost stabs his crush's brother because the brother cares so much and so genuinely for the gay man that he searched assassin's room out of worry and found knives and a mysterious letter before being interrupted by the assassin who then does not want to show him the letter which seems incredibly suspicious, only for a later scene (after the gay man interrupts them and thus stops any escalation from happening) to quietly reveal that the very sus letter in possession of this illiterate assassin is not in fact a sign he's lying about being illiterate.... it's just two pages of him practicing the gay man's name over and over in neatly spaced lines...... a reveal which he was going to STAB a man over because he doesn't know that the gay man's brother knows the man is gay and loves him with his whole heart and would never ever do anything to hurt him........ i will never get over this, how could i ever get over this, everything else ever is going to be downhill from here

This is probably an "old woman yells at clouds" moment, but I'm very very glad that Nintendo didn't let Samus get added to Fortnite. The game is so saturated with crossovers and skins and shit that I sincerely doubt the exposure would have meaningfully moved the needle on Metroid sales, and the series would just be devalued further by this inclusion tbh. I don't want to see Samus firing an AK-47 and doing tiktok dances and used as the mouthpiece for some kid yelling slurs. Wholeheartedly embracing my inner hater in this one instance, a bullet truly was dodged. Nintendo can really suck with their overprotectiveness of their IPs, but in this one case I'm grateful for it.
