We are facing a global #watercrisis.
Tumblr media
Water is essential for human well-being, energy and food production, healthy ecosystems, gender equality, poverty reduction and more.
But we are currently facing a global water crisis. Billions of people around the world still lack access to water. It is estimated that more than 800,000 people die each year from diseases directly attributed to unsafe water, inadequate sanitation, and poor hygiene practices.
Demands for this precious resource continue to rise: about four billion people experience severe water scarcity for at least one month of the year. With water being so crucial to many aspects of life, it is important to ensure its protection and proper management to ensure that everyone has equitable access to this essential resource by 2030.

Diluc
“Congratulations, Kaeya,” you smile, saluting the Cavalry Captain with your drink. “Maybe this is a sign and you should really start dating someone.”
“One letter with a confession is all it took you to give me this piece of advice? Why, I am very honored to receive one,” the man teases, cheek supported by a hand and the fingers of the other drumming against the bar counter as he’s waiting for his own treat for tonight. “Not to mention, you getting together with Diluc in the past didn’t really solve the exactly same problem, am I correct?”
There is a grumbling sound coming from the bartender’s throat, and you snicker, knowing that the redhead is certainly rolling his eyes.
“Careful, Kaeya, or you might get your drink dumped into the sink.”
“Surely my brother wouldn’t do something like that to me,” your friend decides to pay your words no mind, turning to look at your husband instead, “right, ‘luc?”
“Oh, I actually might.”
“Ouch, you wound me.”
Diluc gives him a half-hearted glare, and you shake your head, too used to their quarrels over nothing. Tuning out their voices, you close your eyes and try to relax, enjoying your favorite beverage - always courtesy of your beloved - and humming the melody the bard is singing further into the room. The evening can be called unwinding, and if it continues to be so, it won’t be a hard task to wait Diluc’s shift to be over, to help him close the tavern and make your way home.
“Hey, hey, Y/n,” but of course Kaeya has to disturb your just established peace and quiet, and when you open your eyes again, there is already a full glass in his left hand. Looks like the tavern owner was convinced not to throw it away as he threatened to do.
“What is it, Alberich?”
“You decided to hurt me too,” he gasps painfully, clutching his chest and mimicking the face of a kicked puppy. “My favorite sister-in-law is bullying me with my last name.”
“I am your only sister-in-law. I get the privilege.”
It doesn’t escape you how Diluc snorts at your answer. Kaeya only grimaces.
“We’ll come back to it later. Now I am more curious, how did you handle all those love letters my brother received? I don’t believe you’ve ever told me.”
“I probably didn’t,” you agree, putting your empty glass down, only for it to end up in the redhead’s hands a minute later. “But that was fun.”
“...fun?”
“Yeah, fun. Ever since Diluc started courting me and I returned his affections, he’d come to me with every letter - sometimes with a whole pile of them - and we would sit down and read them together.”
The star-shaped pupil darts to the unfazed man and meets with the gaze of crimson eyes - it is as if he knew that his brother would question his reaction.
“I didn’t want her to get the wrong idea,” he states while pouring you another drink. “Just throwing or burning the letters without any prior explanation could leave some trace behind and cause misunderstanding, so I decided to tell her of the very first one I got when in a relationship with her. She found it so entertaining that ever since she demanded to read every single one of those.”
“You can call it my own research on the creativity of his suitors’ compliments,” you grin, thanking your lover for the new drink, leaning up to plant a kiss to his cheek. “I’ve counted around 120 comparisons of his eyes or hair to anything related to fire, a little bit more than 60 saying of his wisdom and owlishness, something like 46 cases of titling him a ‘prince’... But there were original ones too - ‘locks like waterfall of Fontaine’, ‘the dark master of my dreams’, ‘the perfect father for my children’”, Kaeya chokes, while you simply shrug your shoulders. “Yeah… I have a whole list somewhere actually. I can show you later, just remind me the next time you visit the winery.”
“You are the menace, my dear. Diluc, I can’t believe that after all those…fluttering words you were blushing over that compliment your now wife gave you about your eyebrows!”
“I mean,” Diluc clears his throat, furrowing the aforementioned brows, “They’ve just grown back after that accident with my vision…”
“And I jumped on him, kissing all over those beautiful thick bushy lines atop his mesmerizing eyes. I really missed them,” you sigh dreamily and the Cavalry Captain isn’t sure if you are serious or exasperated.
“It… it was the first time I'd heard them described that way. Or mentioned at all,” Almost unconsciously your husband reaches to move the fluffy fringe to the side. You can’t help but raise your hand and smooth the thumb over his eyebrow. Archons, your man is handsome.
“It was the first time I used such words too. I tried to be romantic. And creative. Creatively romantic.”
“I guess it worked…” Kaeya mumbles averting his eyes from the display unfurling before him. Maybe staying single wasn’t so bad.
Kaveh
“My love, you should be more careful with them, you know?” Softly caressing the bandaged knuckles with your thumb, you scoot even closer to your sulking husband. Your shoulder is immediately occupied with his golden-copper head, cheek flush to your bare skin and you can only assume that he is staring at the lock of your hands.
“Of course I know,” he sighs, turning his palm up and gently grabbing your fingers to draw the back of your hand to his lips. “My hands are basically the source of my income. But accidents happen at the construction site. It’s just that this time I am the one who ended up hurt. Thank the Dendro Archon no one else was affected.”
You want to scold him for being so dismissive of his own health, you want to scold him for not treating the injury well enough right away and jumping back into work again, you want to scold him for diminishing the role of his hands - his own role - to a simple instrument of making mora.
But you almost instantly push those thoughts away - after all, Kaveh knows all these things very well, and you are not about to ruin his mood even more.
“I hope they’ll heal soon,” you offer instead, turning your head and kissing the top of his. “Your hands are very important!”
“They are?” The blonde finally looks at you and there is an unmasked interest in them. “You mean, more than for drawing blueprints?”
“So much more! No other hand can hold mine. No other fingers can push a strand off of my face when the wind is too playful. No other palm is as perfect as yours to plant kisses upon. No wrists can compare to the work of art that yours are - also perfect for kisses.”
“I don’t know, birdie,” you are so beautiful in your pretense of playful hesitation, gleaming eyes averted and lips pursed. “What if this emotion doesn’t suit me so well?”
“But my muse,” the corners of his lips tug in a smile, akin to a shy morning sun, “all these things and so much more I can still do even with my hands bandaged.”
“I know, Kaveh, I know. But, there is something else, and, quite honestly, I might get shy if I say that outloud.”
“Oh?” Yes, that Kaveh-like lilt is back in his enchanting voice, and now he is sitting with a straighter back, half-turning to face you, but keeping your hands together on your knee. “Now I really want to know.”
“Come on, tell me~” And he is pushing his forehead against yours, gently butting, eyes full of determination staring in yours. “I wanna know what else my sweet loving wife thinks of my hands~ Or I might just attack you with kisses!”
“Wait, I joked-” and you erupt in giggles, when the architect surges forward to shower your smiling face with pecks big and small.
“...and what if I want it?”
“Then you shall receive.”
“Alright, alright! I surrender! I see your hands as the creators of our future home!”
The attacks abruptly stop. The pretty pink padparadscha eyes blink a few times, mind processing the words of your sacred confession. And while he is at it, you decide to elaborate.
“I adore the place we are currently renting. But I hope that one day we’ll build our own house - based off your blueprints, based off your vision of our home, cozy and full of light. So,” you reach your free hand to take his second one to lovingly hold them in your grasp, “for me your hands are also the creators of our future home, if you ever wish to share my idea.”
“I… Wow, Y/n, you caught me off guard,” the gaze full of wonder falls to his hands, currently wrapped in white bandages and looking imperfect in his own eyes. “It… it's the first time I've heard them described that way.”
“It's the first time I used such words too, my dear husband.”
You want to protest when his palms slide out of yours, but as they cup your cheeks and draw your lips to his - you eagerly close the distance, putting your hands on top of his.
Something tells you that Kaveh very much shares your idea.
Neuvillette
Your lover’s shrewdness has always been a well-known fact, an unprovable wrong at that. But even he at times could get stuck on a tangled case, especially in a moment of lacking some crucial details - though the public is never aware of it, because when the Iudex of Fontaine takes his rightful place in the courtroom there is no doubt that he knows more than enough to start the trial.
Only you and the melusines have ever witnessed him in a state of stalling as he is analyzing the information he has again and again until the missing piece is discovered. Today is exactly one of these days. No trials are scheduled for the day, so Neuvillette can dedicate his full attention to looking over the cases he will be taking care of tomorrow. Admittedly he never feels annoyed or discouraged when his thoughts reach a deadend, but having you in the same room always brings him comfort even though it was unnecessary in the first place.
You came earlier in the afternoon and brought him lunch, knowing that he’d barricade himself in the office till the late hours of the evening, and decided to stay, promising to handle any issue his subordinates could end up visiting his office with. The man has his full trust in you and your abilities to take care of the administrative part of his job - you’ve spent many decades by his side and involved in his field of work and possessed much empathy towards humans.
Same empathy you hold for him. It’s clear to you, as his beloved, his mate, that your partner needs a break. It’s been some hours since lunch and the desk in front of him has been getting crammed with more and more thick folios. If Neuvillette was a mek, there would be gears turning into his head intensively.
Oh!
Suddenly an idea pops into your head.
Putting away the reports Sedene delivered half an hour ago, you quietly rise from your spot on the plush sofa. The carpet muffles your steps as you move closer to the desk and round it, stopping right by the chair, putting your hand on its back. Your lover doesn’t even lift his head, too used to your presence, never questioning your actions. You admire the parts of him that are in your sight - his long, silky hair, thrown over the left armrest - a habit he developed, too tired to sit onto his own locks; then there is some of the skin of his neck is opened, transforming into the sharp jawline which you suddenly have desire to kiss; the broad shoulders that look even wider because of his coat and you put your free hand on his elbow, bending down.
And then there is his ear - pointy and delicate, it becomes the center of your plan.
Neuvillette’s whole frame shudders when you hum against the shell of it and then press the side of your head to his. It takes a moment to realize that it’s your ears that are touching and you lean into him even further, finally breaking his focus, eliciting a confused sigh out of him.
“Beloved? What’s wrong?”
“Mmm, absolutely nothing, darling,” you hum again, yet do not move anywhere from your spot. “It’s just your thoughts were running so fast in your head that I thought I was hearing the crashing of the waves.”
“...pardon me?” Now the confusion is in his voice too and you draw your face away to look at him with a glint of amusement in your visage.
“Well, you know, they say ‘a shell of an ear’. And if you press your ear to a seashell you’ll hear the sounds of a distant ocean. Come to think of it,” your finger touches the pointy edge and travels the length of it, sending another shiver - this time a pleasant one - down the man’s spine, “your ears look like the prettiest shells.”
When your digit stops its ministration it’s his own gloved hand that reaches up to touch the place you’ve just been tracing.
“It… it's the first time I've heard them described that way,” his voice is soft, inhuman eyes closing as a tender smile graces his lips.
“Well… It's the first time I used such words too, my love. I am glad the comparison is to your taste.”
“It is indeed,” the chair is pushed away and in a moment your lover is standing, fondly looking at you and offering his hand. “How do you feel about a walk at the shore?”
“Wow, if complimenting you will always result in taking a break from work I should start making more of those,” you can’t help but tease, eagerly taking his hand though. “I feel positively about it. Let’s go.”

x f!reader.
cw: none, pure fluff.
Being friends since high school it was no surprise that you ended up falling in love with each other, although no one had to know, not even yourselves, right? But deep down you knew, because even though he was chosen as Divine Visionary he always made time to answer to your letters as soon as he could.
You, other than Max, were the only one allowed to get near his bunnies to take care of them and even pet them when he couldn’t.
After graduating it was kind of inevitable that you ended up parting ways with him, his job being as demanding as it is made it almost impossible for him to spend time outside of it; and with you getting your own job too things became a little too complicated.
Missing him, you decided to pay a visit to him before Christmas to give him a gift, you weren’t even sure if you’d be able to give it personally, but it was worth giving it a try.
You decided to go to the Bureau of Magic first, since it would be most likely to find him there, and after being interrogated as to why you wanted to see him by quite a few persons you were finally cleared and instructed that you would find him at the Magical Items Department. One, two, three knocks at the door. You took a step back and waited patiently, hugging the box closer to your chest, sighing deeply while trying to stop your heart from beating so fast. When was the last time you saw each other? Not even six months ago, yet it felt like ages for you, was it the yearning you’ve been feeling that intensified your feelings? “Hello, Miss (lastname)” His voice took you out of your trance. He sounded, and looked, much more surprised than you would have expected (because being honest, he’s not one to show many emotions on the outside). “Is there something I can help you with?” You needed a moment to breathe. The sight you encountered you were not prepared to, his hair looked kinda dishevelled, his voice was low and heavy and his eyes slightly puffy… Wait, was he sleeping? Shaking your head you noticed the seconds have passed and you’ve yet to speak a word, and so you did. “Hello Ames, can I come in?” You spoke softly, as if to a baby that just woke up, and he stepped back a little wating for you to enter his office. “And no, I don’t need anything. In fact, I brought you something, you know, a little early Christmas gift” Faking nonchalance you shrugged a little, patting the box that was now laying above his desk. “For me?” He had followed you after closing the door and was now standing just a few steps away from you. “It wasn’t necessary, you know. Besides, we haven’t even spoken for months, why would you get me a gift?” His voice now a little more awake and less heavy, one brow somewhat arched, and his head also slightly tilted to the side. He took a moment to look at you, to actually look at you, it felt like you were looking more mature, but he could still see the girl he fell in love with, all smiles and giggles, but just for him. Deep inside he relished in that fact, the fact that you seemed to ignore almost every guy that looked your way but not him, never him. “Can’t a girl give a gift to the guy she’s been in love with since forever? Maybe it’ll make him realise…” you said, smirking and arching a brow, while leaning on his desk, basking in the glory of his shocked face. He did have expressions, didn’t he?
And that was the start of your love story.
With him being a traditional man the passage from being his girlfriend to being his wife was rather quick, he didn’t feel like he needed to waste any more time given the fact that he has known you from many years already.
Since you got married he started to make an effort to spend a little more time at home, raising his rabbits with you and doing mundane tasks made him feel a warmth that he didn’t get to feel growing up.
He’s a calm and collected guy, but anyone that knows him knows for a fact that they can’t even dare to mess with you, he’s a Divine Visionary after all, he can and will end them in a split second.
Contrary to popular belief, he really enjoys cuddles and you being clingy with him (he’s clingy too, just don’t tell anyone).
He doesn’t get jealous often, only when like Renatus or Kaldo say something about you but, in reality, he knows you wouldn’t leave him for men like them anyway. He trusts you with all his heart after all.
He really enjoys taking baths together, drinking some wine or tea, eating some chocolate, or just basking in each other’s warmth and presence. He likes helping you wash your hair and is more than happy and grateful if you do the same for him but would never ask for it.
He likes to listen to you rant (more like yap?) to him about anything and everything, be it something that happened at work or the latest book you’ve been reading, he’ll always listen to you with a little smile on his face and, even though he doesn’t speak much when you do, you know he’s more than happy to do so.
Given the fact that he didn’t have parents for the majority of his life he expects to have at least one or two children to give love to, but he will always respect your decisions and if you don’t want to he’ll respect your wishes and would never stop loving you for something like that.
He values that you seem to love his brother almost as much as him, he knows Finn is a very lovable person and there’s not a person that could not love him, but he’s still grateful and happy anyway.
Overall, he’s a good husband, he raised his brother on his own, so he had to learn how to survive after all, he knows his way around house chores and likes to help whenever he has time and you don’t.
A 10/10 husband if you ask me!

PS: the gift was a Netherland dwarf rabbit in case you were wondering ♥

how would win, SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY Amy Dallon vs Panacea
you don't realize the kind of mistake you made when you asked for serious answers.
i am most likely just going to say back some shit that's already been said a hundred times over so be warned, but see that's an interesting one because that is truly the tragedy of amy dallon's life isn't it. amy dallon and panacea were never able to form a healthy relationship. it was always amy VS panacea. maybe it's inherent to how superpowers work in the WORM universe, but some manage it better than others. i don't think amy ever did, though.
and that's because amy dallon's life is an everlasting dilemma where she CANNOT ever win. the deck is stacked against her in every way. DOES she get to live her life and be happy, living as amy but letting people die for every moment she isn't at work using her powers as panacea, or does she take on that duty, being panacea full time at the expense of her own wellbeing as amy.
this situation is made all the worse by carol's neglect of amy, and her expectations regarding cape work. carol never wated amy really, she only demanded panacea. carol considers amy rotten at her core, and the only way to atone for that is to forego amy and be panacea full time. every moment that she's amy is viewed as a failure and moral failling on her part, a victory of the perceived evil supposedly at her core. so pressured has she been into that mindset that she bought into it herself. amy falls completely on the side of being panacea at the expense of amy. amy isn't wanted, only panacea can find some sort of acceptance. the only measure of protection amy has against panacea is the "no requests" rule, and it's not a sufficient one at all.
so in that sense i suppose it's panacea who won, because the deck was so ridiculously stacked against amy. carol wanted panacea, the PRT wanted panacea, the world wanted panacea. panacea won so completely that even amy was forced into wanting panacea. that may be exagerated by amy's own perception, but it seems like no one wanted amy really, other than victoria.
until amy is so completely trampled over by panacea (and the S9 who pushed her to the brink) that she breaks her completely and decides to be fully amy. But by that point, amy's been so thoroughly stomped into the ground by panacea that she can't be fully amy. panacea has been the only one there for so long that amy can't break her without also breaking herself. her sense of self worth and her moral compass have been tied to panacea. she may have had a chance to be amy, to find out what it meant to be amy if the world gave her one, but by that point the tension is too great, amy can't coexist with panacea anymore but amy also can't exist without panacea.
amy dallon did some very bad shit, i don't mean to overlook it, but she also didn't have too much of a choice on what kind of person she ended up being, and being personally victimized by the one of the most ruthless teams of superterrorists in the world on what was already one of the worst days of her life didn't help either.
so i guess it's a panacea victory, kind of, in the sense that panacea broke amy. but then amy broke panacea in return, and then herself, so maybe it's a tie.
going into shitpost mode now, if we're talking about a fight between Amy Dallon and Panacea, i feel like neither one of them would want to fight at all is the true answer. They would either leave or, if unable to leave, try not to look at each other, feel mildly uncomfortable, wish the other would leave and resent either them for not leaving, or themselves for being in that situation in the first place.
If it came down to life or death circumstances, though, or if for whatever reason they were both in a heavilly rattled state, I feel like Amy Dallon would come out on top. Panacea's moral compass is simply too rigid to allow her to take Amy Dallon out. Amy Dallon would take the victory and feel intense guilt about it for months.

Wants Within | S. Shinazugawa | Chapter 6

✦ Sanemi Shinazugawa x femReader!, college au, reader is adult
✦ Synopsis: You're a college student taking classes with a very strict lecturer- professor Shinazugawa. Because of an unfortunate even you got on his bad side so now you're trying everything to regain in his eyes. Well, you most certainely didn't expect that kind of attention.

The trip back went smoothly. It was less tiring than climbing up, sun reaching and caressing your face with its warm, autumn rais. You and your professor talked about your schedules, are you happy with them, about the university itself, some weird or funny situations related to it and so on and so forth. It was nice to have a normal talk with him, making him less and less scary in your eyes. Now, he was not the enigmatic, attractive professor that could make your life in college a living hell with one of his assignments. Now, he was just young, interesting and strict.
Back at the resort you were all staying in, life came back to its normal pace. Students were everywhere, completing some assignments, talking to their professors, chilling on sofas and doing all sorts of other things. Your major had one more small trip around the resort to gather at least a few samples for everyone. You had the biggest amount of different containers.
After dinner, people taking classes with Shinazugawa were supposed to gather in the main hall to deal with the samples. They were supposed to be taken back to the university for further research, but first they had to be secured. They were mostly simple things, but they demanded time.
Everyone was slowly finishing, but you weren't even in the middle. All the morning samples were still waiting. You also didn't know how to manage them, Shinazugawa only gave instructions for the ones everyone had.
In the corner of your eye, you see the white haired man coming your way. You were one of the last people sitting in the hall.
''When you finish with the standard ones, come to my room and we'll deal with the morning samples.'' He gave you instructions and you gladly nodded.
Some time later, you finally did all you had to do here and started to pack the rest, about to headt to Shinnazugawas room. You made your way up some stairs and into the quiet part of the resort. Apart from the noisy area that the students occupied, this one here was totally peaceful.
You were just about to turn the corner to face your professor's door, when you heard a voice.
''We need to talk, let me in.'' You were unfamiliar with the woman that was talking, but she was definitely pissed.
Peeking around a bit, you spotted Shinazugawa standing in his room's door frame and a small, black haired lady. It was the same one you saw in the morning, smiling at the speaking professor. Was she one of the Kocho sisters?
''We have nothing to talk about.'' Shunazygawas voice was harsh, like you've never heard it.
''Oh yes, we do. This happens all over again, because you won't talk to us.'' The black haired spat out. ''You own her a big apology.''
''I already apologised, many times in fact.'' The white haired man kept his cool, but it was visibly running out.
''It was not sincere. She doesn't believe you, we don't believe you.
''I told you everything I had to say.''
''You're lying. There must be something that you're hiding. A diploma? You left her because of a diploma? Did she disturb your work so hard? Or maybe she was unwanted competition and you did it to kick her out of the rat race, hm?'' Her voice was venomous, burned out with hatred. ''Or did you just use her? You knew she only wated to have sex in a stable relationship and you played the fiance just to get her? Or you had a romance? Tell me, what was it?''
This was some deep shit that you were not supposed to hear. You could nearly imagine Shinazugawa doing all those things to the slender, fragile woman that the Kocho looked like. But would he really do that? What was the reason that he broke the engagement?
''These are some wild assumptions that I would never dare to do. You think about it too much and come to crazy conclusions. I've already told the both of you why I'm no longer with her.''
''It's bullshit.''
''It's true. You just can't suck up the truth, that your sister is not so perfect after all.'' He finally snapped out at her. ''Like I said, I won't talk about that any longer. All this here is unprofessional and please leave me alone, I'm waiting for a student. She might be here anytime.''
The younger Kocho looked pale, yet her face was smooth. The anger must have been deeply rooted within her and she taught herself how to control it.
''It's not the end of it.''
With that, the woman left.
You waited for some time, back sticked to the wall, breathing as quietly as possible. You felt so stupid. Not only did you hear something you shouldn't have, you never actually thought about turning around and walking away as soon as you realised you shouldn't be here. You just stood there, listening with curiosity to everything they said. Now, you're also curious. Is Shinazugawa the bad guy, or maybe that Kocho also did something?
All in emotions, you finally made your way to the door, knocking gently on it. It swung open, to reveal an angry face that faced away as soon as he realised who came. If you didn't know about the talk from just a while ago, you would think he is angry with you. Now, you felt sorry, that he had to hide his emotions so much and pretend like nothing ever happened.
Gesturing, he let you in. It was clean, none of his things particularly visible. Just a pair of glasses and a book on the nightstand, some papers on the desk and his phone tossed on a shelf. Apart from that, the room looked like every other hotel room.
He took the samples from you and instantly started talking about them. No smalltalk, chitchat, scolding or jokes. You weren't surprised by this. After such an emotional rollercoaster, you would be crawling under your bed sheets.
Somewhere halfway through the samples that you both managed in silence someone knocked on the door. Shinazugawa glanced at the entrance with anger still lingering in his eyes. He excused you and opened, revealing a tall woman with long, black hair.
She was dressed extremely pretty. It looked as if she picked a fancy pyjama set for purpose. It was not too comfy to look unprofessional, but it was also not everyday dressing. She had a loose, white dress, some sort of a knitted cardigan on top and soft, silky shoes that looked very delicate and classy. Her long hair was let loose, framing her form. A small smile planted on her pink lips, while she looked at the white haired man.
Compared to that goddess, you looked like Sith.
''May we talk to you, Sanemi?'' It was the first time you heard someone talk to him by his first name.
''I'm busy, as you can see.'' He pointed your way and the goddess gave you a glance.
She blinked with her long lashes a few times before crooking her neck and giving you a small smile. You smiled back, feeling like a rabbit in front of a speeding car. They didn't know you knew, but you knew. You tried to look as shocked and puzzled as you could.
Looking behind the tall beauty, you spotted the shorter, scarier one standing behind her. Her expression was a whole other world. She was dressed casually and had a serious face. Putting her hands on her sister's hips, she moved her gently aside, pushed through Shinazugawa and standed next to you, looking at your hands and investigating your composure.
''Leave.'' You stared at her, eyes wide.
''You can't do that, that's my student and we are in the middle of something.'' The white haired man came closer to the short woman.
Younger Kocho burned holes in his face, heering the 'in the middle of something' part. You knew what she was thinking about and you felt very uneasy. You didn't want to get dragged down into this.
Standing up, you grabbed your phone and notebook, all of them looking at you. Stepping aside, you walked to the door.
''I'm sorry for taking your personal time, professor. If you are busy, we can reschedule this. I really didn't want to bother, sorry once more.'' Maybe you tried to help him a bit, giving the sisters a hint that you were the one that asked to come here. Or maybe you just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible and that was the first thing that came to your mind.
Whatever, you were standing outside the door, the younger Kocho looking at you in a judging manner, the older still with that smile plastered on her face and Shinazugawa with a shocked and apologetic look.
''I'm sorry for the disturbance but we have some urgent matters to discuss.'' The older sister nodded your way, before closing the door gently.
Even though it was all over for you, you started to feel curious. Now, when you were safe in your own personal space once more, you wanted to hear what was going on, who was guilty, could you really look at Shinazugawa the way you looked at him before?
But wait, what way did you look at him before?
He was smart, very, very smart. Like, sexy smart if you're into science stuff. That coldish and demanding manner scared you at first, but now you saw that it has a purpose. His excitement and passion about the things he likes. The top two buttons of that damn white shirt of his. His slender hips and wide arms, toned muscled under the fitted tee. His white hair, always messy and those pale, lavender eyes that could pierce through you, but also turn you on so hard.
Oh gee...
You had a crush on him. The tension you felt about him being such a charming man now added up with the connection you thought you had. The small talks and the fact he showed intentionally or not, his human side made you fall.
Ah! You would think about it later. Now, you need to know what they are talking about. Thinking and analysing, you registered that this was the last room on the corner. Just next to it was a small balcony, connected to the corridor. If Shinazugawa had his window open, you could hear if you would stand on that balcony.
Not wasting time, you rushed to the place. You felt nasty, but also so good. You won't tell anyone, that was a promise you made to yourself, no matter how many things you will hear and what they will be about, you won't tell anyone. You just had to know, if Shinazugawa was a bastard and you're a stupid goose, or was it not his fault.
Reaching the balcony, you thanked all the gossiping gods. His window was open, right next to the balcony and his blinds were down so they wouldn't see you here. Keeping your breath in, you listened to what they were saying.
''This was far too much. You come here, interrupt my planned study session, kick out MY student and start a fight.'' You heard Shinazugawas voice.
''I said we need to talk. Besides, I don't believe in that 'study session'. You always liked to mess around with a lot of girls.'' The younger Kocho started.
''That was in highschool and you're out of your mind. It's disrespectful of you to even think about her in such a manner.''
''I know you.''
''You know shit.''
''Why do you defend her so much? You don't care about others.'' The short woman was still striking him with questions.
''Because she's my student and you're attacking her. You're basically calling her a bitch that sleeps with me to get good grades.''
''Then why does she have such good grades?''
''Because she's a good student for fucks sake. She also has some bad ones just like everyone else.''
''What, did she suck off your dick bad?''
''Enough!'' You heard the white haired shout.
''Shinobu, that was out of line. I think that girl has nothing to do here.'' The third voice stood up.
''Don't ever talk about my students like that.'' he was still fuming.
''That's not what we wanted to talk about here.'' The older Kocho stated in a quiet voice.
You didn't know how that Shinobu reacted, but they just kept talking.
''I just want a real explanation of why you left. You told that it was because of the misunderstandings, but I don't see what I did wrong.'' The older one kept talking. ''That's why I feel like you're lying. Just tell the truth, please.''
There was a second of silence.
''If I tell you everything, will you leave me once and forever?'' Shinazugawa sighed.
''Yes.'' The younger one answered quickly.
''Great. Did you ever consider Kanae, that I never wanted that engagement? I don't know what you told Shinobu, but she pressured, and finally offended me for so long that I finally proposed to you just to have it off my head. She threatened me that if I don't propose to you she will talk you into leaving me right away. And you know what?'' He paused for a second. ''I believed her. I was scared that once again, I was not enough. You wanted a husband and a family, I was just a mere boyfriend. I was scared, because I didn't want to do that, but I was more scared of losing you. We were together for so long then, at least that was in my stupid mind. I thought that it won't change much between us. We were in college, living together and having fun, starting our careers. Well, I was wrong. You guys, both of you, started to bombard me with hundreds of expectations. You never considered my emotions. The two of you talked between yourself about how I'm supposed to talk, act, behave, think, everything. I didn't get to decide whether I could do something or not, your needs were always the first. I felt like I was dating not Kanae, but both of you. The fucking good and bad policemen. You always had something to say, to add, to correct in me. And there were two of you. I had no one who could show me what a toxic relationship looks like. Do you recall how because of a tea with your parents I missed Genyas graduation? Shinobu said, that Genya had average grades so it's nothing special, and your parents what to give me a job proposition.''
''Because they wanted, and it was a far better job than you could gain yourself with the education you had. You had to start to think like and adult!'' Shinobu spat out.
''I was thinking like an adult! You are the two who are stuck in highschool drama. Me and Genya are fucking orphans, I took care for him for as long as I remember. Do you think there is anything more important for me than him? Yet, I missed it, because I was stupid enough to believe you, that if don't come, you will break up with me.''
''You should have priorities, your wife should be on...'' He didn't let her end.
''Kanae was never my wife. She was never more important than Genya, and you know why? Because I was the only fucking adult then, you two acted like brats. Do you really thought, that at twenty two I would still act like that fifteen year old sneaking through your window? That we would be sweethearts to the end of time? Grow up! Yes I did tell you that I will always be yours, but I was fifteen! That didn't mean anything and you know damn well we were too young to make any serious decisions. Yet, you stuck to your perfect life scenario and treated me just like a component that has to fit in. I was sick of that. I'm a person with feelings and dreams that I want to pursue. You never acknowledged that I've grown and changed. People grow up and grow apart, that's how life works. Please just let go of me, you destroyed too many things. Please just stop and vanish from my life. All you gave me at the end was anxiety and hundert missed opportunities to be myself. I wanted to be myself, not labelled as your boyfriend. You rooted out my feelings for you yourself. Now please, just go.''
Silence fell upon all of them. That was way deeper than you thought.
''I'm sorry I wasn't your perfect man and that I didn't grow to your expectations. We just naturally started to drift apart and we both must accept it. It's over Kanae.''
After a short while you heard the door opening. They didn't even say anything and they are leaving. Guess they really didn't consider such an answer. Then, you heard the voice of the older one once more.
''Sanemi, you need to know that I still have a place in my heart for you. If you would ever want to reconsider, I'm here. I can change for you.''
''Stop Kanae, I don't want this. I doubt you'll ever change, just go look for your knight on a white horse. I don't say I don't believe that you'll find someone like that. I just want you to know that it won't be me. We've been together for over eight years, but now, it's over.''
''Can I kiss you one last time?'' She asked.
Your stomach sank a bit. A goddess like her kissing Shinazugawa. What if he remembers all the things she loved about her and reconsiders? Even if not, the image of them sharing one last passionate kiss was just hurtful.
''No, please don't touch me.'' Was his only answer.
Now you knew that he definitely had enough of her. If he didn't even want to do her that last favour, she must have hurt him enough.
You heard the door close. They were both gone.

Hello! I'm going through a rough time right now and I was just wondering: can I request the ROTTMNT turtles x a S/O who has anxiety, depression and PTSD? How would they take care of a S/O whose depression spells make it hard for them to get out of bed, take care of themselves etc? Bonus if S/O is plus-sized/chubby and insecure about it.
Of Course! I hope you know that things will get better! I’m gonna have to split this into parts so I can get it out sooner.
Raph and Mikey
Tumblr media
It’s Not Lazy
Y/n was supposed to have the best vacation ever. No mess, no fuss. But when their friends take “fun” a bit too far. All of the progress they made goes to ruin. It’s not being lazy. It’s relapse.
You hung out with April and the turtles. They were having a dance off and you two were the judges as for a fair chance. It started off great. They danced and tried to out do the other. Soon the competition ended with Mikey being the winner. While April congratulated Mikey, Leo stepped up to you and whined about his loss.
“I demand a recount! It is I that should’ve won!” Leo grabbed your shoulders and started shaking your back and forth. It was that moment where you saw something in him that you tried to forget. You froze, pushing him off of you backing up from him. Leo paused his actions to take in account your own. Raph took notice and joined the two of you.
“Y/n? Are you ok?” Raph reached out to you went to touch your shoulder but in your moment of panic, you swat his hand away.
“Don’t touch me!” You shriek finally getting the other’s attention. You look at their eyes and saw them as they slowly approached you.
“Y/n? We just wanna understand.” Mikey calmly said with a smile. Donnie took a step to you.
“Have you been feeling awful since the start of this? On a scale of one to ten how would you rate it?” Donnie asked, scanning your body trying to figure out what was wrong. Leo reached out to you but the fear and panic in you caused you to run. You ran from the friends that held you dearly. The ones that you kept so many things hidden away from them. When you got back home, your aunt was out at work. You closed the door to your room and slipped into your bed. You covered your head with a pillow. Days had passed since then. You skipped school to avoid April. You haven’t gone down to visit the boys and you haven’t left bed. The only reason you got out of bed, was because of a gentle taping on the window.
Leo
Leo was worried. He cared about you and wanted to know was was going on but you weren’t answering calls, texts and haven’t visited in a while.
He decided after two weeks passed that he’d come to visit. He looked into your window and noticed that the room was a bit messy.
That in itself wasn’t a problem but empty chip bags and Oreo boxes were just on the floor near the bed. How long were you in bed?
He knocked on the window. Tapped it gently to not scare you. You looked up and said to him that the window was open before laying back down.
Leo opened the window and slipped into the window before closing it. Leo looked around and stepped around the garbage. He sat on them end of the bed as you laid unmoved.
“So…down in the dumps?” His words were light hearted but they only gained a huff from you in response. Leo looked down to you and laid down next to you looking at your tired face. You faced him in silence til you finally broke.
“I didn’t mean to yell at you.. but you reminded me of something I’ve wanted to escape and I got scared. I don’t want you to hate me. I don’t want any of you to hate me.” Tears stained the bed sheets as you moved a strand of hair that got stuck to your forehead. Leo sighed and pulled you closer to him.
“We’d never hate you. It was only a misunderstanding,Love. Take as much time as you need. I’ll be right here with you.” You leaned on Leo, as he mumbled to you how great you were. It was truly a moment that would be hard to forget for both of you. Leo eventually got up and walked off. He came back with a glass of water and a sandwich.
“Don’t even try to say that you aren’t hungry. Those snacks aren’t giving you anything substance.” You laugh as you take the water and sandwich from him. He watched you finish it the water off and gave you a sly smile.
“Damn. You must’ve been thirsty.”
“LEO!”
“HAD TO SAY IT!” The two of you laughed at the joke. To you the atmosphere no longer felt oppressive. It was light and seemed almost warm.
‘One day.’ You thought, ‘One day, I won’t be afraid anymore. I won’t have such ridiculous worries.’
Donnie
At first, he didn’t understand what set you off. He wanted to know more to ease his mind but he hadn’t seen you in days. When one week became two, he decided to do a bit of digital digging to figure it out.
As he dived into the internet and tried to find anything that could relate to your response, he soon found a case file in police records. It wasn’t unusual for him to hack in and check police files but your file worried him to his core.
It was a restraining order against someone you talked briefly about before. A previous relationship that went awry and caused you severe emotional distress.
With a heavy heart of worry and guilt, Donnie quickly went to your home. He went to the window and tapped on the glass. When you didn’t respond, he pushed up on it. The window to his surprise opened up allowing him to slip in.
“This place is a mess. You really should own air fresheners.” Donnie pointed out the noticeable lack of cleaning in the room and used his robot arms to pick up the mess. Trash in the can, dirty clothes in the basket and books back on the shelves. When he could finally see the floor again, he sat on the now cleared off chair.
Donnie crossed his legs in the chair and watched as you turned over to look at him. Donnie felt pain in his heart as he looked in your reddened eyes.
“I didn’t mean to yell. I just..got so scared and afraid. I know none of you would hurt me but I was too scared. I don’t want y’all to hate me for that. Please don’t hate me.” Tears kept falling as you felt as if your heart was gonna explode and your throat was going to collapse.
Donnie moved the chair closer to you and pat your head. He wasn’t fully comfortable with touching your tear stained face but if it was for you, he’ll let it slide.
“No one is gonna hate you. Nor is anyone going to hurt you. Leo says you may just be lazying around but I think you’re just relapsing. It’s ok if you step back, just try to press forward. Just know that you aren’t alone when this happens.” You sighed as he moved to rub your back.
“Do you need anything?” He asked as he noticed you calming down.
“Can you get me water and a snack?” He frowned and poked your side.
“You’ll get water and a sandwich. You need to mind your health as I from what I can tell you’ve lost weight.” You pushed him away grumbling about him mentioning your size.
“I’m too big anyways.” Donnie gasped and pulled your face to his.
“Blasphemy! You were never too big! You dare deny me to love all of you!” Donnie was always in love with your body. He always said that it brought him comfort whenever he wanted to decompress. You were his source of comfort and if you were going to bring yourself down in his presence, think again!
“You’re my favorite person. Mikey at a close second but you’re always there for me and willing to help me out. Let me be there for you like you are with me.” Donnie let go of your face no longer squeezing your cheeks together, preventing you from talking.
“Alright. Can you get me that sandwich, Dee?” Donnie was more than happy to make the best sandwich in his live just for you. Sure he’s made an amazing sandwich before but he was going to make the best sandwich proven by science and taste buds just for you.
You’re never alone when you struggle with moments like these. Remember in a world where it seems like no one cares, there’s always one person that wishes to look out for you!

Labours of the Living
Finwë found her hidden away, in the alcove she retreated to when her own working rooms were grown tiresome to her eyes.
It did not surprise Míriel. Finwë had always had a talent for finding her, a skill honed through many years; even, and most particularly, when Míriel sought an escape. He loved her too well to want her lonesome, and knew her to well to think she should always be given her way in living engrossed in her work.
“My lady, my bright lady, here I find you at last,” he said, and came upon the secret curve of the staircase like a vision of himself. Míriel saw him as he was, tall and well-braided, the darkness of his eyes gleaming for her in the light of the high window; for a moment a stranger, a new and beloved thing.
Underneath the heartbeat of her own breast another one jumped, calling to her, thrilled at the sight.
Your father, she told her child, agreeing. Let one of them delight in the world and in Finwë particularly, when she was too weary for it. That was what children were for, joy-making and living stores of joy - so she was told. Your high-hearted father, who shall love you better than all things.
Finwë loved her so well. Nearly as much as the promise of their child; a curious loss of preeminence for Míriel, who understood him perfectly.
“Such hurry, my lady,” Finwë-king teased, jumping up the steps around one pyramid of bolts of brocade like he had when jumping the lake-stone path over the waters of Cuiviénen to visit the dwellings of Míriel, where she had kept her wild goats and first mastered the spindle. “That is princely garment that you have wrought lately, for a prince in many ages.”
“Or many princes, of many ages,” said Míriel.
She looked down at her hand upon the needle, the brilliant floss strung through, the hoop in her lap and the organized disorder of fabrics around her and that same strangeness rose like sea-sickness, the hungry thing inside her restless and small, wanting always to know, know, know what it saw through her eyes.
It wearied her spirit. And the flesh was weary enough as was. It had been a great deal of baskets and bolts of fabric to carry, even if it was but a fraction of what she was working upon; and she was weary still after the climb, though Telperion’s light upon the window beside her had fractured in many changing angles since first she arrived. She had lost precious time with it; the child delighted in the spectrum of it, and her eyes, too, were passionate about colour, heavy enough to grow distracted.
Míriel of the needle with her strong will distracted from her craft! It had not happened before, even when she had been wounded, cold and famished; it happened far too often now. Much had grown tiresome to Míriel, as her child rounded her belly, her most ambitious project kicking at her bowels and sending her constant reveries of strong, flashing impressions.
She made a wardrobe entire: court robes and sturdy traveling layers knitted in complicated patterns, thin shifts for sleep of beautifully embroidered satin. Hats in fashion not yet invented, caps and veils and nets, stitched with golden coins and intricate lacework in gold-thread. Aprons of leather-work, embossed so a distracted craftsman might pass his fingertips over the designs as they thought.
The flaming of a poppy, and the blossoming of a new flame; the sweet purple-reds of the bougainvillea. Linen, velvet, brocade and samite, all of it red, and red, and more red. Her child saw nothing else, in the haven of her womb; that was all it knew to love. Míriel found many variety of it among the fabrics of her stores, dyed others, to her own perfect demands.
Not easy, to stand before the vats with the shifting paddles, moving cotton in water with heavy, forceful arms; and less so, when her ankles so ached and her back complained. Her shoulders ached still after the long labour of her early pregnancy. But Míriel would have no aid, nor even from her best apprentices. She had a reverie in mind, a dream that was no dream, the crafter’s perfect vision of the work to finish; and she meant for it to be impeccable, for it to last.
Her king knelt before her on the cold harshness of the stone, and kissed her hands affectionately, peering down to look at the work on the hoop.
“That shall certainly be marvelous,” Finwë agreed,  “Many marvels for our children shall come from your hand; yet, Míriel, do not forego sleep for it! Thou art crafting many masterpieces at once.”
His smile was knowing, tender around the eyes. It suited him: the care he took with his lady, the last light before the Mingling curling around the stay hairs that escaped his crown. Prickly, goading and laughing and bold and full of wonder like a self-sustaining and warming fire: that was as she liked him best, the chieftain and the craftsmen she loved, her old friend from the old world.
Never had she resented him any softness, nothing of the gentleness that was in him. It had been pleasure, at first, how swiftly he nurtured it, beside his eagerness for the widening of their close and secretive family, the dear circle of their arms around one another; but she could not return it.
So much of Tírion-upon-Tuna was made exactly to his liking, from the materials he thought best, arranged in the angles of his thinking. Míriel loved the city so well. It was not Tírion’s fault Míriel was too weary to stomach the sight of it well, nor her husband’s tenderness.
She took his hands, that he might feel the child kicking inside her; and then took them, so he might help her down the steep path of her own devising.
-
Fëanáro’s rooms had gathered dust for many Ages, when at last Míriel returned to life, committed again to life. He had taken much with himself on his exile to the far northern fortress of Formenos, and among his many works and treasures had been the full collection of Míriel’s works: all his wardrobe, what of it had not been passed on to his sons as they grew.
Míriel knew this: she had woven him garbed with the long tunics of her own make, raising a torch and declaring a fell promise, his sons arrayed around him likewise: in capes, and hats, and embroidered robes of rich, blood-dark crimson. She did not look for her son in the apartments where he had been young and unhappy, nor the rooms set aside for the children he begot in love - did not open drawers, or press her mouth against worn fabrics made into paler shades by layers of dust through the Ages.
Nothing remained. He was not loved now, her son; the rooms were barred and barren, so they might not be destroyed in wrathful grief by the righteous.
The palace of Tírion was much changed. There were rooms enclosed and airless, like the chambers and cairns of stone where the dead had been buried on the journey out of Cuiviénen. There was Indis’ hand in the leveling of high stone walls and the raising of galleries crowned and surrounded in glass; Indis’ hand who had drawn the mezzanines, and decided on the colour of upholstery, the design of the candlesticks.
And Finwë, in all things Finwë’s fondness for soft fabrics and bold colours, his liking for meadows with many moss-covered boulders set together for conversation matured into a tendency for low tables, and vast rooms with many seats.
Míriel’s own marks remained, for they had been made to endure unseen: curling staircases; cunning doorways, alcoves with stained glass windows and a seat carved into the parapet, the sort of places a distracted broideress might retreat to work.
Some of the places had been plainly found. Childish, painstaking scratches lined the windowsills, tengwar in a faltering fashion, still inventing itself, scratching the first attempts. A quiet place, made in ancient times.
How young she had felt, sketching the project of it upon Finwë’s blueprints! Old, and forgotten; for no children ran now, joyful or wretched, through the secret hallways of Tírion’s great palace.
There and only then did Míriel raise her hand to lay over her belly, which had so shuddering with life when last she stood in her quiet hideout; only then did she weep, Þerindë of the needle, as her child had wept in secret against the sleeves she had dyed and sewn and embroidered with the last of her last life.

#FFF243 - "Bring Your Older Gays To Play" at Club Erebor
Tumblr media
#FFF243 - @flashfictionfridayofficial
Pairing - Bilbo/Thorin
Warnings - Implied smut
Word Count - 1050
Summary - Frodo had covinced Bilbo to go the event night at his favourite queer club. All Bilbo wated to do was go home, back to his books and cup of tea. Well, that was until Mr tall, dark and sexy was pushed into him.
Ao3 Here
Bilbo sighed into his odd looking cocktail. He was almost 65 years old. He felt much too old for this nonsense. Why did Frodo have to go to the one gay club that had a “Bring Your Older Gay To Play” night? He didn’t want to play. He was much too old and cantankerous for this. All these older men dressed up like spring chickens. Well, Bilbo was glad they were having a good night, he however was not. He wanted to be back home with his books and a nice cup of tea. He looked around at the surrounding people, the fast-paced music that was giving him a headache and all the grinding. All the touching and flesh on display. He spotted Frodo smushed between two much older men and couldn’t help but frown. He knew they would just be dancing, that Frodo had Sam waiting at home for him, but still, those older gents should know better than to dance with twinks like his lad. Bilbo was watching where their hands were on his boy like a hawk, when he watched Frodo’s head turn before he left the older men to join two younger ones. Lads that were beautiful, even if Bilbo said so himself, trying not to be a lecher. They were both in leather. The dark-haired one was dancing with a stunning woman who was wearing a trans flag as a cape. He was wearing a leather corset and Bilbo could see why Frodo was drawn to them. The blonde one was also in leather, just as tight, but much less revealing. Bilbo couldn’t see who he was dancing with, but he could see the blonde ogling his Frodo. He watched as Frodo bent forward and the blonde pulled back, a much friendlier rather than a predatory smile on his face now. Well, that was all right then, Bilbo thought as he turned back around for another of these vile concoctions. What he wouldn’t give for a decent ale or cider. Talk about stereotypical queer drinks, he thought with a frown. Because he had turned around, he didn’t see Frodo pointing at him excitedly, explaining he was his Uncle Bilbo, but may as well have been his da. It also meant he didn’t see the blond and brunette look at him and get mischievous smiles on his face. In fact, he was there, happily minding his own business, wishing it was 1am already, when he heard a slight commotion behind him and a solid body thud into him from behind. “I beg your pardon!” He said angrily as he turned. The person who had bumped him was facing the other way and was honest to goodness growling. It lit a fire in Bilbo that he hadn’t felt in years. “Fili, Kili, apologise,” the other man demanded of two unseen people. Blob heard a chorus of “Sorry Uncle Thorin” before there were giggles and quiet where they had been. “I swear you would think they were toddlers again,” the other man, Thorin, Bilbo assumed, said as he turned around towards Bilbo. Bilbo felt his mouth go dry at the sight in front of him. Thorin was tall, easily 6ft and dwarfing Bilbo’s 5ft 4 frame. He had long black and silver hair in intricate braids and a beautifully sculptured face. Bilbo almost thought he was looking at a god.
A god with a frown, well that wouldn’t do. It had been a long time since he had seriously flirted and he was a bit out of practice, but still, he was cute, even on the other side of 60, even if he was even plumber then he had ever been before, and well, if this god of a man wanted to throw him about a bit he wouldn’t complain, moaning, well, that would be an entirely different story. “Hi,” he all but purred as he got closer. “Im Bilbo,” he said as he placed a gentle hand on the extremely muscular chest before him. He watched as the other man’s throat bobbed and he gave Bilbo a quick once over, a soft smirk gracing his face. Very nice, Bilbo thought as he pressed in closer. “Im Thorin,” the other man said in a deep, soothing voice. Bilbo closed his eyes, imagining what that voice could do to him on his plush bed. “Your sons?” he asked as he heard whispering behind them, peeking his head round Thorin’s deliciously bulky body and spotting Frodo, who was giggling like a faunt with the three people from before. “My nephews and my niece in law, menaces the lot of them.” Thorin said with a shake of his head that caused his hair to brush on Bilbo’s hand, making him shiver. “My nephew, my lad is with them. He is probably a bigger menace than yours.” Bilbo said with a laugh. “The little one with the curls?” Thorin asked. When Bilbo nodded, Thorin smiled. “Does he look like you did at his age?” “Similar, but I’m like a fine wine. I got much better, at everything, with age,” Bilbo said as he walked his fingers up Thorin’s neck and to his check, wiping some glitter that was under his eye. “Kili, the brown-haired menace,” Thorn said in exasperation. “It suits you, glitter and blue, very sexy,” Bilbo said as he put his arms around Thorin’s neck. “Do you ... Do you wanna get out of here? It’s not really my idea of a good time,” Thorin said, surprising Bilbo with his nervousness. “Mine either. Did yours do puppy dog eyes, too?” Bilbo asked and laughed at the sheepish expression and d from Thorin. “Well, I will not enjoy his smug smile tomorrow, but I’m glad Frodo dragged me here.” Bilbo said with a soft smile. “You are?” Thorin asked, smiling back. “Oh yes, come on Mr tall, dark and sinfully sexy, my bed is big enough for us both,” Bilbo said as he linked his hand with Thorin’s. Both of them ignoring the quartet of cheers from their little audience. Yes, Bilbo thought to himself as he walked out with Thorin’s hand warm in his. Considering he had despised the place, he was glad he had come and knew he was going to have a night to remember. Hopefully more than one.

Solar Water Heaters vs. Electric Water Heaters: A Comprehensive Cost Savings Analysis
When considering options for heating water in your home, solar water heaters and traditional electric water heaters present distinct advantages and disadvantages, particularly in terms of cost savings. This detailed comparison will explore various aspects of both systems, helping you make an informed decision.
Initial Investment
The initial investment for a solar water heater is generally higher than that of an electric water heater. Solar systems typically range from ₹18,000 to ₹60,000 or more, depending on factors such as capacity, type, and additional features. While this upfront cost may seem daunting, it’s essential to consider the long-term benefits and savings.
In contrast, electric water heaters usually have a lower initial price point, with basic models starting around ₹6,000. This affordability makes them an attractive option for many homeowners looking for immediate solutions without a significant financial commitment.

One of the most significant advantages of solar water heaters is their reliance on renewable solar energy. This means that once installed, the cost of heating water can be drastically reduced, as sunlight is free and abundant. Homeowners can expect to save anywhere from 50% to 80% on their monthly water heating bills. This substantial reduction in energy costs can lead to significant savings over time.
On the other hand, electric water heaters depend on grid electricity, which can fluctuate in price due to various factors, including demand and fuel costs. As electricity prices rise, the operating expenses associated with electric water heaters can become a considerable burden on household budgets.
Return on Investment
The payback period for solar water heaters is often favorable, typically ranging from three to five years. After this period, homeowners can enjoy nearly free hot water for the lifespan of the system, which can last for 15 years or more with proper maintenance. This long-term financial benefit makes solar water heaters an appealing investment for those looking to reduce their overall energy costs.
In contrast, electric water heaters do not provide the same level of long-term savings. While they may be cheaper to install initially, the ongoing energy costs can accumulate quickly, leading to higher overall expenses over time.
Environmental Considerations
Solar water heaters are an environmentally friendly choice, harnessing the power of the sun to heat water without emitting greenhouse gases. This renewable energy source contributes to a reduction in your carbon footprint, making it an excellent option for eco-conscious consumers.
Electric water heaters, however, often rely on electricity generated from fossil fuels, which can contribute to pollution and climate change. By choosing a solar water heater, homeowners can play a part in promoting sustainability and reducing reliance on non-renewable energy sources.
Maintenance Requirements
In terms of maintenance, solar water heaters generally have lower upkeep costs. With fewer moving parts and a simple design, these systems require minimal maintenance to operate efficiently. Regular checks and occasional cleaning of the solar panels are typically sufficient to ensure optimal performance.
Electric water heaters, however, may require more frequent maintenance and repairs, particularly as they age. This can lead to additional costs that can diminish the overall savings associated with using electric systems.
Conclusion
In summary, while solar water heaters necessitate a higher initial investment, they offer substantial long-term cost savings, environmental benefits, and lower maintenance requirements compared to traditional electric water heaters. The decision between these two options ultimately depends on your financial situation, energy needs, and commitment to sustainability. By carefully weighing these factors, you can select the water heating solution that best aligns with your values and goals.
