quick guide on backing up your tumblr from someone who has tried it various ways over the years
so, you noticed that tumblr is so understaffed that they didn't even do april fools this year and you're thinking of backing up your tumblr. maybe even using tumblr's built-in export function.
there are plenty of third party apps that will scrape your blog and grab all the posts. tumblr-utils is one that i have used historically to great effect. another option here. or find your own.
however, if you want to save your dms and asks, you need to use tumblr's export function.
first go to your blog settings and click export blog. you'll get an email when it finishes exporting. this may take a couple days.
now, my blog's file was about 400GB. that's almost half a terabyte. it's a lot of data. there's no way to shrink it or only download parts. it also will not tell you how big the file is going to be. my blog has ~250k posts and another 5k unanswered asks. and yours will probably scale with that.
(this is a good reason to use third party scrapers instead, by the by. tumblr-utils at least allows you to 1) download only your own original posts and not reblogs, 2) download only text and not media, and 3) download in batches not all at once. you're not forced to take the whole thing, which is a lot of data. the html result from tumblr utils is also more usable than the one from tumblr as well).
anyway. the first thing you'll want to do is make sure you choose what folder something downloads to. you do NOT want half a terabyte in your downloads folder. you want it going straight to an external drive. you can set firefox to open a little "save as" dialogue box everytime you download something, which honestly i would recommend doing anyway. or you can use a download manager like jdownloader, which will also help in other ways. though personally i found that jdownloader seemed to choke on the fact that tumblr doesn't tell you the size of the download, and that meant i couldn't interrupt the download or jdownloader would assume it was done.
second is just. make sure your external drive is big enough. i ended up literally bailing out files onto other random thumb drives because i only had about 250GB free on my external drive when i started downloading.
third. turn off your computer's ability to sleep. if you've got a pc that should be in the control panel under power settings. it should say power plan. my blog took about 15 hours to download. i had to just let my computer sit there downloading, and my computer needed to not go to sleep.
fourth, i would recommend using an ethernet cable if you have one. that will make it go faster.
you should get a file. though my computer literally choked on mine and i had to open it with 7zip because the zip file didn't quite work.
honestly if you're willing to spend an unreasonable amount of time and storage space on this i would recommend grabbing the tumblr native backup and then also using tumblr utils and scarping the text, then using the tumblr utils version of the text. my suspicion is that you can just grab the media folder from the tumblr export download and dump it into the tumblr utils folder and you'll be good. tumblr utils handles the text posts way better and more accessibly.
another space saving option is to just literally delete the media folder. or to delete the media in the folder that's not labeled "conversations," since the stuff labeled "conversations" is media that was sent in your dms and you may want to save that.
tumblr export WILL give you all you dms (including with deactivated users and users you have blocked and who have blocked you) and it will also give you unanswered asks (again including from deactivated users etc). probably also submissions and possibly also old fanmail, i haven't checked. i have not figured out yet whether you get your draft posts. if you do they're not in their own folder they're just mixed in with the rest.
the html formatting, however, is dogshit. even of the dms. the dm conversations are literally presented backwards.

-> (I'VE BEEN) DREAMING OF YOU
synopsis: könig comes into your reality.
word count: 1.2k
characters: könig, player! reader
trigger warnings: mention of canon-typical violence, maybe slightly obsessive könig oops lol
notes: self-aware cod au belongs to @puff0o0 , inspired by @simp4konig // i moved for college lol hopefully i'll be able to upload(?) more often + salf-aware aus are really my thing huh. my jam if you will
It had been a week since König figured out he wasn’t real.Â
At least, that’s what he approximated it to be. Time was tricky if he actually tried to count the seconds and minutes and hours.Â
But when he stepped off the helicopter and trudged back into base, he knew he would at least have some sense of relief. Some sense of… realness, even though he knew he only existed through the wires of ethernet cables, or maybe even something as primitive as a CD.
König knew his boots tracked in mud and blood and maybe even guts, but he didn’t care. Everything would be wiped clean and be put on a new plate tomorrow for… he guessed they would be called the players, to eat.Â
He shut the door to his quarters behind him and leaned against it, closing his eyes and sighing. He desperately wished he could tell someone, anyone, about what he had witnessed – what he knew to be true.Â
He felt crazy. He felt blessed. He felt like a conspiracy theorist that was just re-inventing the idea that the whole world is a simulation – because it is! People re-invented ideas all the time, but there was nothing shameful in it. But if the rest of humanity (and for all he knew, humanity could only be KorTac and Specgru) oohed and aahed and said, “God, we live in a simulation? I’ve never heard that one before!” just to make him feel good, nothing would ever get done. But it still stung to know such a heavenly being existed and to keep such a huge secret.Â
Of course he was talking about you, thinking about you. When did he not think of you, actually?
He felt almost hollow without you. Like you had given him warmth with your control – a raging bonfire he could only observe from a distance, but still felt the full heat of: as in, an actual heat in his chest whenever he felt his control slipping away, replaced with the security that came with being in your presence. And König didn’t hate it. Not at all.Â
He didn’t even bother to shrug off his work equipment before he threw himself onto his bed. He turned over and swaddled himself with his blanket to try and emulate your warmth. It did nothing.Â
It was a while before he fell asleep. And he had the strangest dream…
He was in your room. He had only caught glances of it, but here he was, tangled in your blankets and in your bed.Â
And there you were. Sitting at your desk, typing away at your laptop. Your back was to him, but he could tell it was you. Even at this distance, you were so warm.Â
You were wearing the big, chunky headphones you always wore when you played. He could hear quiet thumping bass coming from them. It was the only sound he could hear aside from your quick keystrokes.Â
König slowly untangled himself from your blankets – he still had his boots on, the ones that had mud and blood and maybe even guts. Then he realized he had all of his work equipment on.Â
He stood and surveyed his surroundings. Everything in your room was so… you. (Obviously. It was your room.)
His eyes snapped back to you when you took off your headphones. You pressed a button on the side to pause your music and then set them down. You stretched your arms above your head and let out a quiet groan as you leaned back.Â
You looked so soft. So cute. Nothing like what König had seen through the screen. You had been slightly bitcrushed and pixelated, but now…
The warmth that blossomed in his chest was like no other. It spread out into his limbs, almost making him weak in the knees. His eyelids fluttered, but he forced them open to look at you, take in more of you.Â
He tried to say your name softly, as to not startle you, but it came out choked and loud and awkward. His voice even cracked.Â
You were so scared you nearly punched a hole through your monitor. You stood and turned, immediately grabbing a pair of scissors that were on your desk.Â
Your hand shook as you pointed the pair of scissors at König. “T… take off the hood!”
König kept his feet planted firmly on the ground, even bending at the knee a little to be less threatening. He puts up his hands in a surrendering manner. “Schatz, no, it’s me. It’s König.”
“Shut up!” you barked. “I’m not – no way am I being killed or robbed or whatever by someone in cosplay!” Your eyes flit over his body, spotting a knife on his utility belt. “And give me your knife. Try anything and I’m – I’ll…” you glanced down at the pair of scissors (which you can’t really stab him with). “I’ll snip your dick off!”Â
It honestly takes a bit of effort on König’s part not to laugh. Still, he slowly, carefully took the knife out of its holster and offered it to you, the blade pointed towards his chest. “Please, be careful.”
“I know how to handle knives,” you snapped. You put the pair of scissors back on your desk and took to pointing König’s knife at him. You took a tentative step closer, your jaw set. You reached a shaking hand out towards König’s face. “Don’t… move.”
"Mein Leibling.” König breathed out the words. “What are you doing?”
“The mask,” you said. “I’m taking it off. Then I’m calling the police.”
König just looked at you with wide eyes, his blue-grey eyes stark against his eyeblack. His eyebrows creased as he looked down at you, but said nothing.Â
And then, König felt a blossoming warmth as his face was exposed for the first time in what felt like forever.Â
His eyes fluttered shut as he felt your eyes rove over his face. Under the hood wasn’t a face: nothing except for his eyes, eyebrows, and a little bit of the surrounding skin. The rest of it was unloaded textures, a checkerboard of black and bright purple.Â
“Schatz…”Â
“König…”
König’s eyes opened as you said his name. You didn’t notice before, but his eyes were detailed, told a story. This wasn’t the king of the battlefield – this was König. Here, he wasn’t a killer, wasn’t someone who saws someone’s head off with a dull plastic knife and doesn’t even blink when the blood spurts out. He wasn’t the long-shot-drop-pop one-bullet-wonder. He was a man.Â
König gently reached up and took your wrist and pulled your hand away from his hood. It fell back into place, covering up his checkerboard face.Â
He looked down at you, his eyebrows still furrowed. He didn’t say anything. He couldn’t.Â
“You’re…” you sighed – not disappointedly, but more surprised. “You’re actually him. You’re König.”
“I am,” König said simply.Â
“Schatz,” you said. “What does that mean?”
König smiled down at you, even though he didn’t have a mouth. His eyes crinkled at the outsides. “Treasure.”
He gently let go of your wrist, his hand traveling up your arm until it came to your shoulder. His fingers brushed against your jaw, the rough texture of his gloves making you tense just the slightest bit.Â
He whispers softly, like he’s afraid of you hearing his voice. “My treasured player.”

Tell me about it!!! Sometimes the things you think are part of what you are thinking really aren’t not in it. In this newest episode of Best of the Worst Wheel of the Worst, the boys are back to spin the wheel to watch three actual old; dusty VHS tapes. Media that time has forgotten to the ages of time. Mike, Jay, Rich and Tim enjoy three tapes watched on an HDTV screen played via a VHS tape player (Video Tape Player), recorded onto a digital ethernet server, then edited into a video on a computer, uploaded to a YouTube server, and then watched by YOU on your phone, laptop, TV, or Xenowatch™. The theme of this episode is weirdos and a well intentioned man who just loves balloons but not so much the gym. Sorry if that spoiled anything for you, but yes it did. When does this end, oh lord? When will it end? When will you call me back to your kingdom so I can stop doing this? Every time I walk into our studio after cleansing my colon, having a neat glass of 25-year Macallan - chased by a vicod*n, often times I think I’m ready for the day. The problem today is that I was all out of Macallan and pills. I had to face this alone. Sober. And by “sober” I mean filled with pathetic beer that’s 5% to 6.8% ABV. Seriously folks, If I’m drinking beers in that range I might as well be drinking diet cokes like that pus*y loser Rich Evans. The man is so scared of getting a little F*ucked up, he’s wasted nearly his whole life by not numbing reality. There’s no better joy in life than losing control of yourself and your stomach contents on a crowded bus. Yes. I take the bus home from BOTW shoots because I totaled my car after having a nice; neat glass of Macallan, a vicod*n and 8 beers all pushing 10%. Maybe some other stuff, but can’t mention that. Do I have a problem? One might say yes, but the REAL question is: have you seen some of these videos we watch? I’m honestly not surprised Rich isn’t a full-blown alcoholic or raging drug addict. One turns to substances after the things we’ve seen. We all know Jack is sober, but his real drug is embarrassment. Rich's vice is Diet Cokes and self-hated. He’s so filled with carcinogens, he’ll be the only human to have 100% cancer cells while still suffering the never-ending existence of watching bad tapes on a red couch while his ugly, fat “friend” makes fun of his dead grandmother. Rich's body and the spirit of pure evil won't let him die.None of this is healthy to be honest. I don’t know what Jay does to cope. He seems pretty happy. Drinks light. Occasionally I’ll catch him outside SCREAMING on the phone some of the most horrific and violent things you can imagine. One time I saw him punching a kid. I don’t know whose kid it was? I think it may have been his kid, but he’s never mentioned it. Later that week he attended a child’s funeral, but that was the last I heard of it and I’ve always been afraid to ask. All of the statements in this video description have been 100% honest and accurate.

In a zonal architecture, the ECUs are categorized based on their location within the vehicle. The controller is closer to the ECUs, reducing the needed cabling, simplifying the wiring harness, and reducing harness weight by up to 50% with a corresponding reduction in vehicle weight. A zonal architecture can improve data and power distribution.
Developing time-sensitive networking (TSN) in automotive Ethernet is an enabling technology for zonal architectures. It allows efficient communication between ECUs that were in the same domain but are now separated into different zones.
A zonal architecture also supports implementing software-defined vehicle (SDV) functionality. Instead of adding new hardware (ECUs) to add new functions, SDV enables new functions to be downloaded using over-the-air updates into the powerful central vehicle controller. This enables what’s termed continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) of new vehicle functions in near real-time.

"#everyone says this but no one ever sends any asks"
Okay. What are your top three favorite types of electrical cables?
Mine are 1) Extension cords with NEMA L6-30 couplers, 2) Category 5e Ethernet cables, and 3) SpaceWire cables.
Have you ever seen the fucked up HUGE chonky data cables they use for old mainframes? I got to hold one used on the IBM 1401 at the Computer History Museum. Those things are HUGE. Comically massive BEASTLY cables.

Photos don't do it justice. You have to HAUL this shit.
I don't have a 2 and a 3. Nothing I've personally worked with comes close to this. But I'm a huge fan of ribbon connectors, even if I hate fucking with them when I mod game controllers.
Thanks for the ask!

being driven mad by wifi again which is upsetting since i thought i solved all my problems when i got rid of the old computer. my new one hasn't had a single network issue since i got it, so i was fully convinced the issues just lay in a bad wifi card/generally bad laptop build for the other one.
today though, my personal laptop can't connect to the normal 5G network i use at all unless i stand next to my door (closer to the router.) Even the 2.4G network is unusably slow (0.04 mbps.....). So the whole laptop is basically unusable for what I normally do.
It's like the wifi range dropped overnight? I cannot emphasize enough that I was using it just fine at like 10 pm last night only for it to not work at all at 8 am the next morning. There's been no problems at all for MONTHS until today. But AGAIN I am still able to use it on my work laptop. At least I can work but it's so baffling and frustrating that I've spent 2 years intermittently fighting to have my personal devices connect when the work one is always fine lol. Maybe it has something to do with all the security stuff installed on it, idk.
I forgot the network, logged back in again, reset my network adapters, checked for new drivers, etc. Asked my uncle to try resetting the router but you see I Do Not Control The Router since it is not mine lol. He swears there was no changes to it since yesterday. No I do not have ethernet as an option. Yes I own range extenders from my old laptop being messed up but those have never worked before so idk why they'd work now
#sigh. i hate this so much it's SO frustrating#i swear if nothing else forces me to move it might just be this lol#or forces me to buy my own wifi. though idk if spectrum wants 2 at one address?

The Evolution of DJ Controllers: From Analog Beginnings to Intelligent Performance Systems
The DJ controller has undergone a remarkable transformation—what began as a basic interface for beat matching has now evolved into a powerful centerpiece of live performance technology. Over the years, the convergence of hardware precision, software intelligence, and real-time connectivity has redefined how DJs mix, manipulate, and present music to audiences.
For professional audio engineers and system designers, understanding this technological evolution is more than a history lesson—it's essential knowledge that informs how modern DJ systems are integrated into complex live environments. From early MIDI-based setups to today's AI-driven, all-in-one ecosystems, this blog explores the innovations that have shaped DJ controllers into the versatile tools they are today.

The Analog Foundation: Where It All Began
The roots of DJing lie in vinyl turntables and analog mixers. These setups emphasized feel, timing, and technique. There were no screens, no sync buttons—just rotary EQs, crossfaders, and the unmistakable tactile response of a needle on wax.
For audio engineers, these analog rigs meant clean signal paths and minimal processing latency. However, flexibility was limited, and transporting crates of vinyl to every gig was logistically demanding.
The Rise of MIDI and Digital Integration
The early 2000s brought the integration of MIDI controllers into DJ performance, marking a shift toward digital workflows. Devices like the Vestax VCI-100 and Hercules DJ Console enabled control over software like Traktor, Serato, and VirtualDJ. This introduced features such as beat syncing, cue points, and FX without losing physical interaction.
From an engineering perspective, this era introduced complexities such as USB data latency, audio driver configurations, and software-to-hardware mapping. However, it also opened the door to more compact, modular systems with immense creative potential.
Controllerism and Creative Freedom
Between 2010 and 2015, the concept of controllerism took hold. DJs began customizing their setups with multiple MIDI controllers, pad grids, FX units, and audio interfaces to create dynamic, live remix environments. Brands like Native Instruments, Akai, and Novation responded with feature-rich units that merged performance hardware with production workflows.
Technical advancements during this period included:
High-resolution jog wheels and pitch faders
Multi-deck software integration
RGB velocity-sensitive pads
Onboard audio interfaces with 24-bit output
HID protocol for tighter software-hardware response
These tools enabled a new breed of DJs to blur the lines between DJing, live production, and performance art—all requiring more advanced routing, monitoring, and latency optimization from audio engineers.
All-in-One Systems: Power Without the Laptop
As processors became more compact and efficient, DJ controllers began to include embedded CPUs, allowing them to function independently from computers. Products like the Pioneer XDJ-RX, Denon Prime 4, and RANE ONE revolutionized the scene by delivering laptop-free performance with powerful internal architecture.
Key engineering features included:
Multi-core processing with low-latency audio paths
High-definition touch displays with waveform visualization
Dual USB and SD card support for redundancy
Built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet for music streaming and cloud sync
Zone routing and balanced outputs for advanced venue integration
For engineers managing live venues or touring rigs, these systems offered fewer points of failure, reduced setup times, and greater reliability under high-demand conditions.

Embedded AI and Real-Time Stem Control
One of the most significant breakthroughs in recent years has been the integration of AI-driven tools. Systems now offer real-time stem separation, powered by machine learning models that can isolate vocals, drums, bass, or instruments on the fly. Solutions like Serato Stems and Engine DJ OS have embedded this functionality directly into hardware workflows.
This allows DJs to perform spontaneous remixes and mashups without needing pre-processed tracks. From a technical standpoint, it demands powerful onboard DSP or GPU acceleration and raises the bar for system bandwidth and real-time processing.
For engineers, this means preparing systems that can handle complex source isolation and downstream processing without signal degradation or sync loss.
Cloud Connectivity & Software Ecosystem Maturity
Today’s DJ controllers are not just performance tools—they are part of a broader ecosystem that includes cloud storage, mobile app control, and wireless synchronization. Platforms like rekordbox Cloud, Dropbox Sync, and Engine Cloud allow DJs to manage libraries remotely and update sets across devices instantly.
This shift benefits engineers and production teams in several ways:
Faster changeovers between performers using synced metadata
Simplified backline configurations with minimal drive swapping
Streamlined updates, firmware management, and analytics
Improved troubleshooting through centralized data logging
The era of USB sticks and manual track loading is giving way to seamless, cloud-based workflows that reduce risk and increase efficiency in high-pressure environments.
Hybrid & Modular Workflows: The Return of Customization
While all-in-one units dominate, many professional DJs are returning to hybrid setups—custom configurations that blend traditional turntables, modular FX units, MIDI controllers, and DAW integration. This modularity supports a more performance-oriented approach, especially in experimental and genre-pushing environments.
These setups often require:
MIDI-to-CV converters for synth and modular gear integration
Advanced routing and clock sync using tools like Ableton Link
OSC (Open Sound Control) communication for custom mapping
Expanded monitoring and cueing flexibility
This renewed complexity places greater demands on engineers, who must design systems that are flexible, fail-safe, and capable of supporting unconventional performance styles.
Looking Ahead: AI Mixing, Haptics & Gesture Control
As we look to the future, the next phase of DJ controllers is already taking shape. Innovations on the horizon include:
AI-assisted mixing that adapts in real time to crowd energy
Haptic feedback jog wheels that provide dynamic tactile response
Gesture-based FX triggering via infrared or wearable sensors
Augmented reality interfaces for 3D waveform manipulation
Deeper integration with lighting and visual systems through DMX and timecode sync
For engineers, this means staying ahead of emerging protocols and preparing venues for more immersive, synchronized, and responsive performances.
Final Thoughts
The modern DJ controller is no longer just a mixing tool—it's a self-contained creative engine, central to the live music experience. Understanding its capabilities and the technology driving it is critical for audio engineers who are expected to deliver seamless, high-impact performances in every environment.
Whether you’re building a club system, managing a tour rig, or outfitting a studio, choosing the right gear is key. Sourcing equipment from a trusted professional audio retailer—online or in-store—ensures not only access to cutting-edge products but also expert guidance, technical support, and long-term reliability.
As DJ technology continues to evolve, so too must the systems that support it. The future is fast, intelligent, and immersive—and it’s powered by the gear we choose today.

I'm just going to go through the event of my play through now. I technically have only spent 6 hours in the game. I planned on playing with a friend. We will call her Star for the time being (to protect her privacy cause I didn't tell her I would be logging our adventure). She took a very long time making her character while I waited in the tutorial, it took about an hour of time. This is also where I had my first death, to the Godrick Knight. Seeing as this was my first souls like I thought I should learn controls. I believe I died 3 times before getting outta there. I picked up everything for the co-op only to find out after leaving that my friend had not and keep in mind this will be a common occurrence she is even less of a gamer then me... Star says the hardest game she's played is God of War (2018). So I had to lead her around and get all the materials for crafting and talk to Santa (Kalé). Then she couldn't find the erdleaf flower when I told her all the locations I found. While doing so I died to the Tree Sentinal. A boss I was told to avoid for a little while... we will get back to him :p
This is the last time for now we will hear from Star since we couldn't get our games to connect. If anyone has an idea about that please let me know. I set down the sign and she clicked it, it said joining then lost connection. we tried it the other way around too but nothing... I can play just find with my other friend (who may or may not be named in these if he shows up again) and Star is able to play Fortnite and other games online too. So I'm not sure what's going on. We also tried moving our ps4s and connecting them through ethernet and disconnecting from the internet...

I got a television recently. I feel like not having a tv might not be as unusual on tumblr, but I think it is quite unusual for society in general. I've not had one since I moved away from my parents' house over a decade ago, and at that time we still had a big chunky CRT, so we weren't exactly on the cutting edge. This is to say that I've been catching up on changes in TV tech over recent years. I knew about the big things of course, I knew about smart TVs and I knew I didn't want one of those (I had an old netbook with a broken screen lying about to repurpose as a streaming box to access all the on-demand services and youtube but with an ad blocker). What I was surprised to find was that my non-smart TV also had an ethernet jack! At first I figured it was just for updating firmware and maybe some sort of future-proofing* or a case of different models using the same circuit boards, but as I explored the list of channels available to me, there were channels marked as data channels which refused to play unless I plugged it into my router. Turns out there's this whole standard of TV over IP that even non-smart TVs can just do? I had never heard about this at all, and going off a single comment made by a guy in a youtube video this may not be something that they use in the USA, so perhaps my dear american followers may not know about these either? Anyway I just had a proper good explore of them and they're quite impressive. There are actually on-demand services built into these channels where you can pick a programme to watch, which is pretty amazing to me given I'm doing this via a non-smart tv and remembering that having a button for subtitles instead of having to go to a specific ceefax page to turn them on still feels quite futuristic. Anyway these on-demand things are not very useful to me because a large part of the appeal of watching television is the curated nature of the programming and constrained choice.
I will finish this post by listing some of the data channels that I thought were interesting. There was a video gaming one that didn't work (I think I need a fancier tv or maybe just one that uses a different standard for that one); several arabic news channels and one french one; a channel that seemed to play only recordings of rock concerts; many many christianity themed channels with programme names like "amazing facts" which trick you into thinking they might be some light trivia-based entertainment; an african drama channel which said it showed a lot of nollywood stuff (nigerian film industry, one of the biggest in the world!) and finally one channel on the tv which had a menu to pick from several other channels, most of which seemed to be music video based but one of which was called "out & proud" and I looked to see what was on that one and it seemed to be a courtroom show like judge judy but with a leather pup on trial. It was lit and shot like it could have been porn but I think it was just using kinky aesthetics.
* almost totally unrelated but I really enjoy the future-proofing on guitar hero controllers, they have a little phone jack on them and it's a strange connector to see on a video game controller. never got used but was planned for maybe adding a pedal peripheral or something.

Starving Artist Conundrums
I need to figure out how to try and expand my income streams, which you would think would be fairly simple as an artist because there (should be) are tons of ways to sell an image, but not necessarily. I'm tired of constantly playing games with SNAP and healthcare couple of months because I have no safety net if these things fail. This month is getting really, really close to losing it all, through no fault of my own, it's just one person who won't answer their phone and keeps "losing" documents. So, somehow, I have to figure out how people do this. For everything I learned in art school, there wasn't a moment of business education, which is wild considering how many of us were like, painters or sculptors. I was neither, but, how. The irresponsibility of it.
I've had to weed out Society6 and Redbubble from my circle of shop sites because of the weird fee structure they both implemented. I don't have the energy to figure all that out. I'm starting to put things on Threadless, which I've had for a while but haven't used much. I've been investigating Inprnt which I've heard mixed things about lately. Teepublic has done good by me for the most part, but since they're part of Redbubble I don't know how long that's going to last.
I would really like to get back into streaming, because I'm theoretically like halfway or better to a Twitch payout, but I need a few things to make a setup that works for my pain situation, namely a long-ass ethernet cable so I can keep up a fast enough connection. I used to have one, but I think it got given away when we moved for bonkers reasons I cannot remember. Anyway, I have one on my wishlist now that should be the right length, I hope: https://throne.com/radiochio
I really need to knuckle down and finish Follower Volume 1, not that it'll save me financially (probably the opposite) but at least there's the hope that I can at least make, like, a little grocery money from it now and again, or pay the phone bill.
All of this is complicated by the fact that my drawing days are limited/unreliable until I can get my pain under control, which is totally at the whim of doctors' referrals ending up in the right places and/or people actually calling me back as they're supposed to. Also on the medicine working, which thus far nothing has. Let me tell you, it is deeply frustrating to go to appointment after appointment and repeat that no, even tripling the normal dose of ibuprofen doesn't touch what I have happening and I don't want to destroy my organs so I just. Don't deal with it anymore. I am begging for help and no one cares or believes me.
Anyway, life's rough when you're physically pretty limited and perpetually broke. At the very least the new meds they gave me don't make me want to sleep all day, instead they just do nothing at all. Is that a win? I'm not sure.

How Proper Data Network Wiring Boosts Office Productivity
In today’s fast-paced digital environment, a reliable and efficient data network is no longer a luxury; it’s a necessity. Whether setting up a new office or upgrading your existing infrastructure, data network wiring is critical in ensuring smooth communication, data transfer, and daily operations.
This post explains how proper data network wiring enhances productivity in office settings and why every business should care.
What Is Data Network Wiring?
Data network wiring refers to the structured cabling systems used to connect computers, servers, printers, and other devices within a local area network (LAN). It includes Ethernet cables (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a), patch panels, switches, and wall jacks—all working together to ensure reliable data transmission.
A well-organized wiring infrastructure provides the physical foundation for high-speed internet, secure internal networks, VoIP systems, and more. Businesses in offices across North Andover are increasingly upgrading their infrastructure to meet modern networking demands.
Why Proper Wiring Matters More Than You Think
Consistent and Reliable Connectivity
One of the biggest productivity killers in offices is inconsistent internet connectivity. Poorly installed or outdated data network wiring can result in frequent dropouts, slow data transfer, and lag during video calls or cloud access.
With proper wiring, your office gains stable and fast connections, ensuring teams can work without frustrating interruptions.
Faster Data Transfer for Modern Workflows
From cloud-based apps to extensive file sharing, modern workplaces demand high-speed data communication. Up-to-date data network wiring—such as Cat6 or higher—supports gigabit speeds and low latency, translating into quicker downloads, smoother communication, and more efficient workflows.
Enhanced Collaboration
Seamless connectivity is vital whether your team is collaborating over Zoom, Slack, or Microsoft Teams. Properly installed data network wiring ensures every department can collaborate in real-time without delays or buffering, fostering better teamwork and faster decision-making.
Long-Term Cost Savings
Though wireless solutions seem effortless initially, they often suffer from interference, signal degradation, and security risks. Investing in a structured data network wiring system provides better performance with fewer maintenance issues, saving money in the long run.
Additionally, wired systems are scalable. As your office grows, adding more connections or upgrading equipment becomes easier and more affordable with a solid wired infrastructure in place. This has been particularly true for expanding businesses in North Andover, where tech-driven operations are rising.
Improved Security and Reduced Downtime
Increased Network Security
Wired networks are inherently more secure than wireless ones. Proper data network wiring limits unauthorized access and helps IT teams monitor and control the network with precision.
Reduced Downtime
Loose cables, tangled wires, or DIY setups often lead to technical failures. Structured cabling looks cleaner and minimizes the chance of human error or accidental disconnections, reducing downtime and keeping employees focused on their tasks.
Professional Installation Is Key
While handling wiring internally is tempting, proper data network wiring requires professional planning and execution. Certified network installers:
Assess your current and future data needs
Choose the correct type of cables.
Organize wiring neatly for easy troubleshooting.
Ensure compliance with industry standards
This expertise ensures that your wiring supports your office’s needs today—and scales with you tomorrow. If you're based in North Andover, consider consulting local professionals who understand the region's infrastructure and connectivity demands.

Technology Behind Waterproof Connectors
In today’s interconnected world, the demand for reliable connectivity extends far beyond dry and controlled environments. From underwater equipment to outdoor lighting systems, waterproof connectors have become indispensable components in various industries. These connectors are engineered not just to transmit power or data, but also to withstand moisture, dust, extreme temperatures, and physical stress.Get more news about waterproof connector, you can vist our website!
What Are Waterproof Connectors?
Waterproof connectors are specially designed electrical connectors that can operate in environments where exposure to water or humidity is inevitable. These devices are sealed using various techniques—such as O-rings, gaskets, epoxy resin, or molded rubber—to prevent water ingress. They are categorized based on Ingress Protection (IP) ratings, with IP67 and IP68 being common standards for full waterproof capability.
Types of waterproof connectors range from circular and rectangular connectors to USB and Ethernet varieties, each tailored for specific voltage, current, and transmission needs.
Applications Across Industries
The versatility of waterproof connectors makes them essential across a wide spectrum of applications. In marine engineering, they are used to power underwater robots and sonar systems. In renewable energy, waterproof connectors ensure the safe transmission of power from solar panels and wind turbines, often exposed to harsh weather conditions.
Construction equipment, outdoor surveillance systems, LED lighting, transportation infrastructure, and even wearable medical devices frequently rely on these robust connectors to maintain reliability in dynamic or outdoor environments.
Design and Material Considerations
What separates a waterproof connector from a traditional one is not just the external seal but also the careful selection of materials. Housing is often made from high-performance thermoplastics, stainless steel, or aluminum alloy to provide mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. Contact points are gold or nickel-plated to enhance conductivity and prevent oxidation.
In addition, ergonomic design matters. Connectors may feature secure locking mechanisms such as bayonet, screw-thread, or push-pull designs to prevent accidental disconnections during operation or maintenance.
Technological Innovation and Trends
As industries continue to innovate, so too do the demands placed on waterproof connectors. The latest designs are not only compact and lighter but also offer improved data transmission speeds and higher voltage capacities. Smart connectors, equipped with built-in diagnostics or wireless monitoring features, are becoming increasingly common in industrial automation and military-grade equipment.
Environmental sustainability is another growing focus. Manufacturers are now exploring eco-friendly materials and modular designs that allow easier recycling and replacement, aligning with global environmental mandates.
Challenges and Market Outlook
Despite their benefits, waterproof connectors can be more expensive and complex to manufacture than their standard counterparts. Ensuring long-term sealing performance under pressure, temperature variation, and mechanical movement remains a technical challenge. Poor installation or degradation over time may still lead to leakage and failure.
However, the global market for waterproof connectors is projected to expand steadily over the next decade, driven by rising demand in smart cities, electric vehicles, offshore drilling, and the growing IoT infrastructure.
Conclusion
Whether submerged in water, battered by storms, or embedded in rugged terrain, waterproof connectors serve as silent yet critical lifelines that power modern infrastructure and innovation. Their evolution reflects the broader shift toward durable, intelligent, and sustainable technology solutions—connecting not only devices, but the future itself.
