CHALLENGE: Can I connect Bo Burnham to every comedian in this magazine photoshoot posted by Mike Birbiglia?
Let's see...
Taylor Tomlinson: appeared at a Largo show with Bo (also featured are Pete Holmes, Joe Mande, and Whitmer Thomas)
Jacqueline Novak: appeared at a Largo show with Bo (along with her partner Chris Laker and Anthony Jeselnik). Plus, she hosts a podcast called Poog with Bo's frequent collaborator Kate Berlant!
Ramy Youssef: He and Bo have not collaborated or been pictured together that I know of.
BUT, Ramy is tight with two of Bo's good friends: Jerrod Carmichael (who executive-produced his Hulu show—and they both are in Poor Things) and Chris Storer (who has directed two of his comedy specials). So pretty closely connected!
Jenny Slate: Aside from being a frequent guest on Kroll Show (which Bo appears on as Diz, a British hooligan with songs about the royal family and soccer), Jenny performed with Bo at a Largo show in 2017.
Alex Edelman: Bo was photographed in 2022 after one of Alex's shows with Kate Berlant. Probably taking a break from working on her spectacular one-woman show!
And last but not least Mike Birbiglia: Again, I have no photos of the two, but they have tons of friends in common, and Mike speaks very highly of Bo and Inside.
He also called Bo the "Avatar of Comedy" in his Working It Out podcast episode with Kate Berlant.
So there you have it. Challenge completed! ✌🏼🐔

I'm half good at some things but
My body is out of whack
I want to lift your spirit's but
I'll throw out my back
Home never existed but the seagull still flew
A life wasted looking back on the
Things you want to undo
I never had a home here, I was always a joke
Never hunted a buck or tied up a boat
The older that I get the funnier that I was
Wish you could have known me then
We could have had so much fun

Am I OK?
Am I OK? [trailer]
Lucy and Jane have been best friends their entire lives. Only when Lucy embarks on a personal journey, will she face a test of her friendship, and her sense of self, on a path she may not be entirely ready to take.
Turned out to be better than the lacklustre trailer. While it felt for me a bit as if Dakota Johnson wasn't the best choice for the role, the two leads still had very good chemistry. The movie is talkative, in a good way.
It was nice seeing Sonoya Mizuno in a substantial role.

Summer 2023 - Contax T2
One late summer night/early morning, I drunkenly ordered a Contaxt T2 on eBay. The next morning my hangover pain was compounded by the sudden loss of a $1000 and a less than pleased wife.
Despite the reckless spending, I’m content and excited with how the first few rolls came out.

Hi, everyone!
Comedy Central recently posted the full video of Pete Holmes' 2013 special Nice Try, The Devil on YouTube.
If you haven't seen Pete's comedy before, he has a real "fun dad" energy to him, and his sets are apparently incredible in person (but it's difficult to capture that electricity on camera).
Either way, it's an entertaining hourlong special, and a little bird told me he's already taped his newest hour, so that should be out soon!
And if you haven't listened to/watched his amazingly informative podcast, You Made It Weird, definitely give it a shot. Pete gets guests to open up in ways they wouldn't otherwise (like his epic 3-episode journey with Bo Burnham).
Enjoy the special on YouTube, and keep it here for more comedy fun! ✌🏼🐔

"The Civil Dead"
If you can tolerate the mumblecore genre, there’s enough to enjoy in co-writer / director Clay Tatum‘s “The Civil Dead” to keep things humming, even though the film drifts a bit and feels too long. With observational humor and an original screenplay that’s perceptive about human nature, this slacker ghost story is a low-budget film that succeeds on many levels.
With his wife Whitney (Whitney…
