BREAKING - Hezbollah Drone Commander Eliminated: A senior Hezbollah commander responsible for dozens of drone attacks on northern Israel in recent months, including today's strike on the IDF Northern Command HQ in Tzfat, has been killed in an Israeli airstrike in south Lebanon. Ali Hussien Barji, the commander of Hezbollah's aerial forces in southern Lebanon, was struck in the town of Khirbet Selm, during the funeral of senior Hezbollah Radwan commander Wissam al-Tawil, who was killed yesterday. As the funeral for slain Hezbollah Commander Wissam al-Tawil draws thousands in Lebanon, Israeli occupation media are claiming the assassination of a high-ranking Hezbollah drone commander in an airstrike on the south of the country.

According to the Zionist media, Hezbollah drone commander, Ali Hussein Barji, was killed in an occupation airstrike targeting a vehicle the commander was riding in near the village of Khirbet Selm, in southern Lebanon, just moments before the funeral of slain Hezbollah Commander, al-Tawil.

Rockets fired from Lebanon after Israel kills Hezbollah commander

Dozens of rockets were fired from southern Lebanon into northern Israel on Wednesday after Hezbollah confirmed the death of one of its senior commanders in ongoing clashes with the Israeli army, The Guardian reports.

An Israeli airstrike on the village of Jouya in southern Lebanon late Tuesday night killed three Hezbollah fighters as well as Taleb Abdullah, the most senior commander killed since fighting began eight months ago.

On Wednesday, militants linked to Iran fired a barrage of 50 rockets into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and then another 90 into northern Israel, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said. Some were intercepted by Israeli air defence systems, but the projectiles caused fires in some areas due to the summer heat.

Hezbollah said it struck Israeli military factories and bases in Ein Zeitim and Ami’ad, as well as the Israeli air surveillance station in Merona, firing dozens of rockets, according to its statements.

Second front against Israel

The Shiite group opened a second front against Israel a day after Hamas launched an attack from the Gaza Strip on October 7, firing rockets and mortars at villages and farms near the UN-controlled Blue Line separating the two countries. The war of attrition has steadily escalated, with Israeli politicians and generals in recent weeks signalling readiness for full-scale conflict.

Abdullah, the Hezbollah commander killed on Tuesday, was in charge of the central region of the southern border strip and was senior to Wissam al-Tawil, another senior Hezbollah commander killed in an Israeli strike in January, Lebanese sources told Reuters. His funeral, which is likely to be well attended, is scheduled for Wednesday.

The IDF confirmed it had killed Abdullah and said Israeli jets shot down several rocket launchers in southern Lebanon on Wednesday after shells were fired towards northern Israel.

Me already filling my queue! This is the least we can do! TBH I'm worried the US will somehow pressure the ICJ into not ruling it a genocide. There was an Axios article yesterday that said "Israel" is already trying to do that.

The US-backed IOF will do everything in their power to deflect, and self-victimize themselves as they always have. Based on some of the writings I have seen from journalists online, who have been reporting about updates on Iran, Hezbollah (who, as we know are are backed by Iran and support Palestine), and US violence towards the Houthis -and overall the way the US has been scrambling to 'agree' to a ceasefire under particular circumstances -of which Hezbollah has rejected recently.

On top of the IOF recently striking and killing a field commander of Hezbollah (of which western media is declaring as 'alleged.'), I don't think things will continue to be in favour of Isnotreal for much longer -albeit, my opinion.

Meanwhile Blinken is en route to the Isnoreal (or maybe he's arrived?) to "end Israeli aggression" and "limit the spread of conflict" (based on some sources I've seen online -which, the language itself is purposely meant to water down the GENOCIDE happening, because as we know these past few months have been nothing but unilateral violence reigned mercilessly on Palestinian people.)

The ICJ SHOULD be impartial, and I hope we see a permanent ceasefire soon. Again, thank you for this resource, I will re-post on my page and of course I'll be participating online.

Hezbollah Launches 215 Rockets, Several Missiles And Drones At Israel After Death Of Sr. Hezbollah Commander

In retaliation for the death of a key commander in the terrorist group by an Israeli attack the previous night, Hezbollah launched over 215 rockets, along with a number of additional missiles and drones, towards northern Israel on Wednesday.

The barrages were Hezbollah’s largest offensive attack yet, after October 7th, with the ongoing fighting on Lebanon’s border.

In addition, the terrorist group declared that it would now intensify its attacks in retribution for Israel taking down Taleb Abdullah, its top commander. Senior Hezbollah official Hashem Safieddine declared during a funeral procession in Beirut that Hezbollah would heighten the volume, vigor, and intensity of its activities against Israel.

“If the enemy is screaming and moaning about what happened to it in northern Palestine, let him prepare himself to cry and wail,” Safieddine said.

According to his office, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conducted a security assessment on Wednesday night “in light of the developments in the north.”

Tens of thousands of Jewish Israelis celebrated the Shavuot holiday on Wednesday morning when the first of several Hezbollah attacks started. The attacks targeted several locations in northern Israel, including Rosh Pina, Safed, and Tiberias, where rockets were fired.

“The Israel Defense Forces said another 70 rockets were then launched at the Mount Meron area, home to a sensitive air traffic control base. Ten more rockets were fired at the northern community of Zar’it, and an anti-tank guided missile struck a factory of the Plasan armored vehicle manufacturer in Kibbutz Sasa, causing damage. Later in the morning, a drone launched from Lebanon detonated in an open area near the northern community of Zivon, local authorities said,” according to The Times of Israel outlet.

In the afternoon, even more rockets were fired into the western and upper Galilee regions. However, the Israeli military said that air defenses still managed to shoot down a large number of the rockets. The attacks did not result in any casualties, although many rocket strikes prompted fires in northern Israel.

The Fire and Rescue Service reported that some 25 firefighting crews and eight aircraft were battling flames close to Beit Jann, in the Ein Zeitim forest, and near Amiad.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the rocket and missile barrage, citing targets that included the Plasan factory, the Amiad camp, which is about 20 kilometers from the border, and the Meron air traffic control facility.

Hezbollah claimed that the strikes were in retaliation for the Israeli strike that killed Abdullah and three other operatives on Tuesday night near Jouaiyya, southern Lebanon, some 15 kilometers (9 miles) north of the Israeli border.

On Wednesday, the IDF did, in fact, acknowledge that it had taken down the four men.

Hezbollah’s Nasr unit, one of the three regional divisions in south Lebanon, was led by Abdullah. This unit, which covers the south Lebanon region between Mount Dov and Bint Jbeil, is regarded as the terrorist group’s first line of assault and defense against Israel.

Abdullah was the “most senior” Hezbollah commander whom the IDF reported to have killed during the conflict.

Hezbollah declared Abdullah dead in a statement, referring to him as a “commander.” Wissam al-Tawil, the deputy leader of the terrorist group’s Radwan unit, was the only other operative mentioned as a commander. He was also killed by Israel in January.

Al-Tawil was regarded as junior to Abdullah.

The IDF said that over the previous eight months, Abdullah was responsible for multiple attacks on northern Israel, primarily targeting the city of Kiryat Shmona as well as other villages and army installations in the Galilee Panhandle, Upper Galilee, and the Golan Heights region.

Just hours before his death, on Tuesday night, while Israelis were celebrating Shavuot, Abdullah ordered a rocket barrage on the Kiryat Shmona region.

After the commander and the three agents met in a building, the military released video of the Jouaiyya strike. Every single one of the four died.

The IDF also regarded Abdullah as a “source of knowledge” due to his extensive background in the terrorist group. According to the military, Abdullah was the commander of the Bint Jbeil area during the 2006 Lebanon war and was engaged in the attempted kidnapping in Ghajar in 2005.

According to the IDF, it was ready for Hezbollah’s reaction to the attack and was expecting more assaults throughout the day.

After the missile barrages, the IDF claimed to have hit four Hezbollah locations in Yater, southern Lebanon, which were utilized to launch the attack. According to the military, rocket launchers deployed in the barrages in Hanine and Yaroun were also struck.

Hezbollah-led fighters have been attacking Israeli communities and military facilities along the border almost every day since the day following Hamas’s attack on October 7th. The group claims that it is doing this to further support Gaza.

Ten Israeli civilians have died as a result of the border confrontations thus far, in addition to fifteen IDF soldiers and reservists. Additionally, Syria has launched multiple strikes without resulting in any casualties.

According to Hezbollah, Israel has killed 342 of its members during the current clashes, which have mainly taken place in Lebanon but have also occurred in Syria. There have been numerous civilian casualties, a Lebanese soldier, and 62 additional terrorist operatives slain in Lebanon.

Conflitti vecchi e nuovi si inaspriscono e complicano un quadro già non troppo lusinghiero in giro per il mondo. Partiamo - come di consueto - da Israele, passando per la new entry Ecuador, chiudendo poi in Francia e con le ultime a tema Bitcoin.

🇮🇱 ISRAELE – HAMAS: UCCISO UNO DEI COMANDANTI DI HEZBOLLAH. PROSEGUE LO SCONTRO CON GLI HOUTHI

(1) Il conflitto tra #Israele e #Hamas non arretra di un cm anche questa settimana. Lunedi, in #Libano, c’è stato un bombardamento che aveva come obiettivo uno dei comandanti chiave del gruppo paramilitare #Hezbollah, Wissam Hassan Al Tawil. L’attacco è andato a buon fine e l’uomo ha perso la vita. Ricordiamo come Hezbollah sia alleato di Hamas e diversi funzionari libanesi hanno attribuito l’attacco a Israele, principale nemico del gruppo. Dal canto suo, né l’esercito né il governo hanno confermato, ma sembra che la responsabilità sia proprio sua. A tenere banco questa settimana (più di ogni altra) è stato il gruppo di ribelli #Houthi, che hanno il controllo quasi totale dello #Yemen e anche loro sostenitori di Hamas; da settimane stanno rendendo il Mar Rosso un territorio pericoloso da attraversare per chiunque. A questo proposito, martedì hanno compiuto un attacco particolarmente violento servendosi di droni e missili diretti contro le navi commerciali in transito, costringendo la marina statunitense e quella britannica a intervenire per evitare ulteriori danni. Nella notte tra giovedì e venerdì una coalizione guidata dagli Stati Uniti ha risposto a tali attacchi bombardando diversi siti militari usati dagli Houthi in Yemen, coordinandosi con Regno Unito, Australia, Canada, Paesi Bassi e Bahrein. Anche l’#Italia era stata informata dell’attacco, ma ha preferito non entrare in conflitto senza prima discuterne in parlamento. L’attacco è stato – presumibilmente – un avvertimento e non l’inizio di un nuovo conflitto su un altro campo di battaglia. Un ultimatum era infatti stato lanciato agli Houthi poco tempo fa, ma le ritorsioni contro Israele non si sono fermate, costringendo di fatto gli USA a rispondere sul campo. Il bombardamento, ha fatto sapere il comandante dell’aviazione statunitense per le missioni in Medioriente Alex Grynkewich, è avvenuto servendosi di aerei militari, navi da guerra e sottomarini e ha colpito oltre 60 obiettivi in 16 luoghi diversi dello Yemen. Ciò non ha comunque fermato i ribelli, che – attraverso le parole del loro portavoce Mohammed Abdulsalam – hanno fatto sapere di non voler interrompere gli attacchi nel Mar Rosso, supportati da centinaia di migliaia di persone in rivolta in Yemen. La scorsa notte gli USA hanno bombardato nuovamente le postazioni degli Houthi nello Yemen, in un attacco più circoscritto rispetto al primo e diretto a una stazione radar.

🇪🇨 ECUADOR NEL CAOS: L’EVASIONE DI “FITO” SCATENA LO SCONTRO TRA ESERCITO E BANDE CRIMINALI

(2) La settimana è stata dominata anche dai fatti avvenuti in #Ecuador, dove è stato dichiarato lo stato d’emergenza in seguito all’evasione dal carcere di uno dei narcotrafficanti più noti di tutto lo stato. José Adolfo Macías Villamar, noto come “#Fito” e leader del gruppo del Los Choneros, era in carcere dal 2011, ma era noto a tutti come continuasse a dirigere le operazioni anche da dietro le sbarre, arrivando anche a minacciare il candidato alle elezioni presidenziali (poi ucciso dopo un comizio questa estate) Fernando Villavicencio. Proprio in seguito all’assassinio, Fito era destinato a una struttura di massima sicurezza, ma domenica la polizia ha notato la sua assenza dalla cella, dando il via a un’operazione di ricerca gigantesca. Diversi detenuti hanno avviato rivolte nelle carceri del paese, gettando le strutture (e l’intero Ecuador) nel caos e costringendo l’attuale presidente Daniel #Noboa a dichiarare lo stato d’emergenza per i prossimi 60 giorni. Decine di agenti di polizia sono stati presi in ostaggio dai detenuti e persino i partecipanti a un programma in onda nella tv pubblica ecuadoriana TC Television sono stati sorpresi da un gruppo di uomini armati che hanno interrotto le trasmissioni. In quest’ultimo caso, le telecamere hanno continuato a riprendere per almeno mezz’ora quanto stesse accadendo, finché non è giunta sul posto la polizia che ha arrestato gli uomini armati (13 in totale). Proprio in virtù di tali scontri, le bande criminali del paese stanno mettendo a ferro e fuoco le principali città dell’Ecuador, con negozi, scuole e uffici pubblici chiusi e l’esercito schierato a difesa del territorio, nel tentativo di arginare violenze e saccheggi.

🇫🇷 RIMPASTO DI GOVERNO IN FRANCIA. GABRIEL ATTAL SOSTITUISCE ÉLIZABETH BORNE ALLA GUIDA DEL PAESE

(3) Sussulto nel governo francese, dove a inizio settimana il presidente Emmanuel #Macron ha accettato le dimissioni della prima ministra Élizabeth #Borne, in carica da un anno e mezzo e rimasta “vittima” del drastico calo di popolarità di Macron stesso. Riforme e misure parecchio controverse da lui promosse hanno accelerato tale processo e da qualche settimana aveva lasciato intendere che qualcosa sarebbe cambiato al governo. A farne le spese proprio la premier, mai entrata davvero nel cuore dei francesi. L’anno che attende Macron sarà ricchissimo di sfide, con i sondaggi che al momento danno in vantaggio il partito di estrema destra guidato da Marine #LePen e le elezioni europee di giugno sempre più vicine. Come se non bastasse, il 2024 sarà anche l’anno delle Olimpiadi a Parigi e, secondo molti (proprio per via dell’attenzione mediatica generata dall’evento), la Francia sarà sotto gli occhi di tutto il mondo. Il governo guidato dalla Borne ha dovuto anche – spesso e volentieri – scendere a patti con la stessa estrema destra, concedendo grosse fette delle riforme proposte e promosse pur di reggere l’impatto di una potenziale caduta (basti pensare alle concessioni fatte in tema di #immigrazione). A prendere il suo posto sarà Gabriel #Attal, trentaquattrenne ministro dell’Istruzione del governo Borne considerato molto vicino a Macron. A lui, premier più giovane di sempre, è stato dato il compito di formare un nuovo esecutivo e portare avanti quanto promesso dal presidente (che in Francia detiene un potere molto ampio) in occasione del discorso di fine anno: riarmo industriale, economico, europeo e civico, in virtù soprattutto della sua riforma scolastica promossa nei mesi scorsi. La composizione del nuovo governo ha visto la conferma di membri del precedente, ma anche qualche novità, che ha spostato l’asticella sempre più a destra e di matrice conservatrice. I componenti più vicini alla sinistra sono stati allontanati, mentre è stata alterata la composizione di alcuni ministeri: quello della Transizione ecologica è stato eliminato (i compiti sono accorpati a quelli del premier e del ministro dell’Economia), le competenze dell’Istruzione sono passate al ministero della Gioventù, dello Sport e dei Giochi olimpici e paralimpici, mentre il ministero della Salute è stato accorpato a quello del Lavoro e della Solidarietà.

🪙 BITCOIN QUOTATI IN BORSA? LA SEC DÀ IL VIA LIBERA AI FONDI DI INVESTIMENTO LEGATI ALLE CRIPTOVALUTE

(4) Si muove qualcosa nel mondo delle #criptovalute, dopo che la Securities and Exchange Commission (#SEC), ovvero l’organo di vigilanza su questioni finanziarie e di borsa negli USA, ha reso noto che alcune società sono state autorizzate a comprare e vendere titoli legati ai #Bitcoin in borsa e sui mercati finanziari ufficiali. Si tratta di una decisione storica, dal momento che prima di adesso le criptovalute potevano essere acquistate e vendute solo attraverso canali paralleli e siti specializzati. Da tempo tali società erano in contatto con la SEC per sapere se fossero autorizzate a quotare in borsa alcuni fondi con Bitcoin al loro interno, così che gli investitori operatori potessero investire proprio sulle criptovalute (in modo indiretto). Questi sono da sempre considerati investimenti poco adatti a chi non mastica bene il mondo della finanza digitale, per via del loro andamento imprevedibile e del maggior rischio assunto da chi investe. Con questa decisione della SEC, i Bitcoin potranno diventare accessibili anche a investitori comuni e il mercato – nonché la loro diffusione – si allargherà a macchia d’olio. La decisione non consente, per inciso, di acquistare Bitcoin in borsa, ma di poter investire in particolari fondi di investimento (chiamati #ETF, exchange-traded funds) legati a questi. Le tecnicalità per chi investe in Bitcoin, adesso, sono pressoché azzerate e non vi è più la necessità di passare attraverso le piattaforme di settore. Secondo diversi esperti, il loro ingresso in borsa potrebbe assicurare una maggiore stabilità del valore della criptovaluta.
