Janeway in 'Nothing Human' vs Tuvok in 'Resolutions' There's something here I know there is I can almost wrap my teeth around it.

#I can't watch Nothing Human bc the puppet really disconcerts me #but I cannot believe Janeway really came into B'Elanna's room after all that and the FIRST thing she says...her OPENER is #'Wow it smells awful in here~!'#DUDE....................TIME AND PLACE #HEHEHHE #C'MON MAN #B'Elanna: Is [putting it behind us] an order? / Janeway [normal!]: Yes.#'And what emotion is that?' C'MON MAN!!!!!!#Janeway & Tuvok #Kathryn Janeway #Tuvok #I can see why she and Tuvok are friends #'I understand you're upset but fall in line'#You can be upset but not if effects your work #<- Something which would be fine on a regular ship but is very difficult on Voyager #I think Janeway's certain coldness or ruthlessness which can be aimed at either friend or foe is an interesting #aspect of her personality #Ex: She and B'Elanna COULD have feasibly had a more touching scene together to close out the episode but they don't #I don't know if I'm explaining myself well right now I'm a bit ill and more than a bit tired #Something about uhh maybe....people under their command vehemently and emotionally disagreeing with them/their decisions??#you can disagree with me but not if you don't follow me anyway #Voyager a ship full of contradictions #they have to all work together and they are all closer emotionally than any other starship due to their situation #but they are also still 'at work' and are expected to follow orders. It's like a 'casual' hierarchy but it's still a hierarchy #and you can't fall too far out of line bc you're someone dear to me #but you're also a valued cog in the machine #and even though you ARE valued you ARE still a cog in the machine #but you're also my dear friend. and all of these things are true at once.#all of that of course but also Janeway & Tuvok are displaying a very particular kind of shared leadership style in these moments #Janeway is obviously on the whole MUUUCH more charismatic and understanding than Tuvok but still - when push comes to shove...

joel standing there, watching her. joel crying because, well, she’s gone. she’s pushed him away, said they’re done. her finger to his face and tears running off her chin—and he’s the reason for it.

joel standing there in the open for who knows how long. knowing now that she… might not come back. what he did years ago has finally caught up to him in, quite possibly, the worst way he can imagine. his child, his daughter, his second chance, wanting absolutely nothing to do with him anymore.

If decarabian was a gamer he would have the most decked out setup imaginable. 2000+ dollar custom keyboard where nearly everything but the internal components are made of solid gold. Top-of-the-line pc entirely encased in various ornately decorated gemstones. He would have at least five monitors (bonus points if they also double as surveillance monitors.) His gaming chair would in fact be a literal throne. At times he thinks that video game logic must surely apply to real life mortal human logic as well and vastly overestimates how durable most humans are.

#avatar #atla #avatar: the last airbender #atlaedit #zuko #katara #song avatar #v posts things #v watches avatar #It was the scar touch/almost touch that pinged my memory but realizing that the language Katara uses parallels Song too set me off #Zuko starts the season so stuck in his own pain #Song tries to connect and he's closed off because nobody can possibly understand him you see #until she shows him her burn and it shocks him #this girl who has been nothing but kind has one too. she can't have deserved it #what can that mean for Zuko who is going to need another season and a half to be able to say that what his father did to him was wrong #right now he still doesn't know how to acknowledge any of this to himself much less someone else #to reconcile it with how he still believes if he can just go home everything can be okay #but then he travels the earth kingdom and sees what the war and his nation's pride did to all these regular people #and finally finally he ends up back here again #though Katara is understandably not reaching out so much as lashing out #but this time Zuko is able to reach back and not only connect and empathize with someone else #but the fact that he can admit that the fire nation was responsible for one of the biggest losses of his life is a big step for him #and whether Katara and her spirit water would have been able to heal is scar is almost irrelevant #because ultimately it isn't about the scar but what it represents #he thinks people look at it and see all his shame. like if it wasn't there people wouldn't be able to look at him and Know #he doesn't get that people look at it like Song did #that here's someone who was hurt #and whatever he might have done he couldn't have deserved THAT #and it isn't until he goes and makes an actual shameful mistake of his own that he starts to see the difference

Do you ever like.. get a sudden surge of love and admiration and just general happiness because of a friend, so much so that it's almost overwhelming, and you are just so, so glad you met them and hope you'll never have to let them go and get to keep them in your life forever? Yeah ❤️💖🐗🧚‍♂️🦄
