I love the first time Soo-Won supports Lili.

It feels like an overreaction to burst into tears over, essentially, "Go for it," but makes sense when you realize no one takes her seriously.

Her father, Tetora, and even Yona view her as someone in need of protection. They coddle her.

And then here comes Soo-Won, telling her she's capable of making a difference.

That she did make a difference. He acknowledges her strength and believes in her with ease while people closer to her struggle to accept that she's useful.

I find it kind of silly that so many of those "time based life rule" sayings are like ~deep serious guidelines~ of some sort, but then there's that one other Well Known Rule that's just like "hrmm can I eat something off of the ground or not"

#the duality of human condition.. two biggest concerns in the modern era are attempts at self fulfilling productivity #and also 'if i drop my sandwich can i still eat it :('#Also while capitalism is often linked with/the source of hyper productivity culture - note that I do not mean the images in that context #'meaningful to you' does not have to mean 'productive within a capitalist system'. The point is not 'every waking hour of every day #must be spent in the most societally productive grinding mindset hyper efficency mode possible' but more like #if you've always wanted to learn french ever since you were a kid and you think it would be fulfilling to you (just because you like it #absent of any larger purpose like using it for a job/monetizing it somehow/etc.). and you've just spent like 5 hours straight on tiktok #or something mindlessly scrolling the internet. maybe someimtes it'd help for your own personal fulfillment in the long #run to try to - the next time you have 5 spare hours - work on learning french or something that is actually significant to you #as a person and that you'll be glad you worked towards. instead of weeks and weeks passing by and feeling you have nothing to show for it #or etc. AAANYWAY. The images/rules themselves are also NOT the main point of this post. More just the juxtaposition of them together #and the fact that 3 of them are serious seeming while one is so mundane it seems silly in comparison.#BUT even though they're not the main point . I still didn't want it to come across as if I was like promoting or buying into capitalist #productivity culture propaganda or etc. I don't find productivity tips like this inherently bad as long as they're kind of divorced from #those ideas. I think it's still important in life to have goals even if those goals exist outside of the typical expected framework.#I mean that's actually part of why a culture of chronically exhausted overworked deprived people is damaging because if you #'re forced to spend 85% of your waking time working at some job that is perosnally meaningless to you that brings you nothing that #youre only doing under threat of starvation and houselesness and etc. then of course you don't have much time for hobbies or things you car #about and of course you'll feel more aimless and personally unsatisfied and like life is not fulfilling or interesting.#Productivity and efficiency is GOOD actually. as long as it's able to be directed in ways that are actually meaingful to the community or #individual and bring some sort of feeling of fulfillment or progress or accomplishment and working towards a person's personal ideas #of happiness whatever those are. rather than just working away aimlessly so some guy you don't know can buy a 20th house or etc. etc.#ANYWAY.. lol.. Me overthinking things perhaps.. probably not as likely #that people see the silly little cat images and go 'WOW EVIL you must be a capitalist grind culture lover' like its pretty clear #thats not the point... but... just in case... lol.. #i will warn you only once: tsc spoilers #literally just finished it as i am drafting this its 5am where i live #so you may be subjected to some nonsense #that all being said i have thoughts.and feelings #the kevin was lovely and tasted delicious! jean defending him at every turn even when he swears to hell and back he'll kick his ass #the kevjean was surprising i was only half expecting that #the dog metaphors i have to say i need this one cashed in. nora run me my check #im joking of course dont quote me on it #jean taking kevins promise to the end and living on it is seriously so. well.#'be careful with him' 'take kevin's name out of your ignorant mouth' 'you promised me'#also kevin getting called the court's queen had me tender and on my back oml #jean's relationship with the trojans is sweet and he is very interesting and complicated #a character with many moving parts im sure #there were a few things i did not care for #namely jeremy and the trojans felt remarkably flat to me bar lucas (by far the most interesting) and catalina on occasion #i didnt quite enjoy jeremy's pov and felt like he spent perhaps way too much time worrying over jean? if that makes sense #i wish he had some more complexity to him or really anything to catch a hook on #all we know is hes attractive and smiley and gets along terribly with his family #so much of his character is sucked out by jean he didnt feel like much more than a plot device to me #which i wouldnt mind if jeremy wasnt the literal main character alongside jean #i was living for everything jean thought but had to drag myself through jeremy's pov if im honest #uuuuh what else. neil! funny. deranged. i have to love him #andrew couldnt give less of a fuck about jean which is funny as all fuck #two bugs placed in the same habitat ignoring each other #the thing with elodie i thought was complicated. i wish we knew some more about her or that shed been mentioned a little earlier #but im assuming thats a topic to be revisited #uuuuuuuh yeah so thats most of it. i think my first thought and the one that sticked out the most to me is that the book felt remarkably #pedestrian #not necessarily in a bad way #it lacked to me one of the main appeals of aftg which were the numerous interesting side characters

alright so here's the current plan with the nominations to the main tourney, not the oc tourney. tomorrow will decide if i'm closing them early or not. if we get a bunch of submissions and it turns out the last 2 days were just slow, then they'll continue to stay open until friday at least. if we continue only getting a handful of submissions, then submissions will close wednesday the 10th, 11:59 pm PST

Other Bill really though familiar Bill was weak because he was playing house with a human. So what if he's domesticated? Does he not realize that this is a version of himself who actually has something to lose. He's the most dangerous!! :/

Other Bill's thought process kinda went like this:

This Bill is Soft for this guy! It's clear when you look at the human's reactions - and even in the environment! All the context pointed right towards some domesticated moron.

And Soft Emotionally = Soft Everywhere = Soft Target. No threat at all!

Clearly this was some whimpering, wailing, quivering, pathetic Bill, that would fold under a bit of pressure. Honestly, he'd be doing the multiverse a favor getting rid of that guy! Squishing (or stealing) his (admittedly cute) human would be a fine precursor to putting him down.

Other Bill did not expect a Bill who was, well. Still very Bill. The mistake he made was thinking that because Bill went soft in one single place - that he'd gone all jello-like everywhere. Classic overgeneralization. Along with a lot of egocentric cognitive biases.

The other dumb thing Other Bill pulled was not changing his plan.

He could have course-corrected when Familiar Bill reemerged- even that first interaction showed him he wasn't dealing with a total pushover - but he figured, hey! If one dumb human could ruin this guy, what could he possibly do against another Bill?

And then he found things out the hard way.

#Overestimating himself and underestimating others #Classic Bill Cipher right there #Other Bill undone by hubris #Familiar Bill still falls into the same trap but he's gone through some stuff recently #His pride's been run through the wringer. Had a crash course in the school of hard knocks #He's about 50% less prone to making egocentric mistakes after all the times he's been thwarted recently #Not gonna catch Familiar Bill dismissing something offhand as a non-threat when it could come back to bite him in the angles #Well. No. He absolutely still does that. But not as often as your typical Bill #His main advantage is that he's *aware* that something innocuous could screw him over. Since he's been caught off-guard so often lately #Even taking a second glance at a situation instead of *assuming* he has it handled is a major check on the hubris #Really shitty for anyone who wants to thwart him though. He's monologuing less and catching people off-guard more #Congratulations Dipper! You simultaneously semi-domesticated a demon while also making him more dangerous #And if Other Bill HAD killed Dipper. Or hurt him worse. Or.#Well overall! Anon is right. I do find it a bit weird that everyone is blaming Gregory for the Security Breach situation again like...

You know that was Freddy don't you? He was the adult, he took the responsibility of helping Gregory and then helped him do that to the other animatronics. He literally could have stopped him at any point and chose not to.

If that voice at the end was Gregory, he says a friend has access to maps of the building, meaning either Vanessa or Freddy is helping him then as well. If he also dropped the lift, one of them had to be complicit in it and I've got a funny feeling it wasn't Vanessa.

I'm not just saying this to slander canon Freddy or anything that is literally what we see. Fanon Freddy could never do nothing but canon Freddy sure as hell could.

#I've spent the past week organizing in the play's wake - sorting and laundering huge numbers of costumes #some to return to those they belong to and some to come home to my costume storage room which had become chaotic over the last few #months #so a complete spring cleaning for the storage room became part of my task list too. Now the play's been over for a week #and the emails are starting to come in from admin about next year. As some of you know I did a lot of discernment this semester #about what next year should look like and I have decided a mix of continuity is best. I won't be working for my 'main' schoolboard anymore #but I will continue to teach and direct for the one program in the city (the one I did the play for) and possibly with a new home school #enrichment program that may go ahead this year if there are sufficient numbers. Otherwise I am going to spend a semester #tutoring and running workshops f I can get it off the ground. Then we'll see.#Anyway - admin wants me to get new syllabi in to them within a month's time so my thoughts are all in that direction!#I get to teach 19th/20th century Canadian history to the middle schoolers and Late Antique/Medieval Church History to the high schoolers!#Also direct another play and do a humanities course centred around an epic in the spring (the last couple of years we've done Iliad and #Odyssey - they want Aeneid this year but I am trying to talk them into another option. The Aeneid is valuable but I am not sure it's the #time or place with this group of students. The result of all this is that I am spending far too much time doing Internet research for ideas #and then taking breaks on tumblr - which isn't good for my eyes or mental health. What with the play and end of term #I fear I've been out of the reading habit. I'm still hyperfixating on the Book of Romans so there's that at least #but I lost the novel I was in the middle of and am not feeling so motivating with out books. It's a proper reading slump! I need a kickstar #of sorts. Feel free to yell at me that I should pick up a book!

picking a course makes me want to cry and throw up so bad

#this will set up the rest of my life im afraid #there are 2 viable courses. the others are too complex and will not benefit me in the long run #the two viable choices. one I have experience in bec its somewhat art related #and it has real jobs. but its real rare and kind of underappreciated here where i live #might be hard to apply for #and the other one. i have vague interest in #not much experience however it has great jobs and opportunities everywhere #overall i will learn More and gain more from it probably. its not the most annoying subject in the world #sorry i dont have any figures that i can ask in my life about it hahaha all they say is 'which one would you enjoy more'#ive been in a self aware depressive state for years now i have no real passion for anything #i just do the things i know i can do #i would enjoy either the same normal amount #one where i can hone and expand on an existing skill #and one where i can take up new opportunities and expand my brain . my tool belt if u will #and i would really like either #i will gnaw wood #sorry for oversharing on main this is an actual cry for help heehoo maybe someone out there is going thru the same thing or whatever #it's just a lot of irreversible wasted time and effort and money

My parents and I watched the season 3 finale of Star Wars: Rebels tonight and I can't believe my mom was the one who was like "WHY ARE THEY* ALL DYING?!" and I was the one being all, "don't worry I'm sure it will be fine." this is the most role reversal we have ever done.

(*to clarify I mean the rebels in general, the main cast was fine)
