Getting Walked In On
NSFW warning.
GN! Reader
Characters: Shino and Sai (separately)
Shino Aburame
Your legs are thrown over his shoulders as he thrusts into you, letting out soft groans each time. Your head is thrown back onto the pillow. You moan loudly, seeing as it’s your own house and you two are completely alone. His name falls off your tongue like honey as your hands cling to the sheets, gripping them like you’ll fly away if you let go.
You’re both so close, you can feel yourself contracting around him as the edge is in sight. His cock twitches, and it seems like this is it for both of you, but the door hitting the wall and a shouting voice interrupts you both.
It’s Kiba. He’s in shock.
“GET OUT!” You scream, throwing the bedside clock at his face. “YOU CAN’T JUST BARGE IN TO OTHER PEOPLE’S HOUSES!”
Meanwhile, Shino is covering you both with the comforter, hiding his face. He will not be able to continue after this. And next time, even the bedroom door will be locked even though it’s your own home.
Sai
His hands feel up all your curves, running along them, squeezing them, doing anything he can do, while his mouth leaves pretty, purple marks along your neck. To him, you’re like a blank canvas every time he gets to do this.
Well, not always blank. Sometimes, those marks he leaves are so good they last a while, and the next time, he gets to refresh those marks and leave new ones once he’s done admiring his work.
He trails his kisses down your body, until his head is between your legs. And he gets you so close to your orgasm as he teases you with his tongue and lips before the door opens.
“Hey, Sai have you seen— holy shiT, MAYBE LOCK THE DOOR???” Naruto shouts, covering his eyes and turning around.
Sai looks up, smiling that cheesy, snarky smile with either your slick or his own drool on his lips and dripping off his chin. He’s not ashamed in the least as he speaks, “Maybe you should knock before entering my room. I’m not giving any lessons.”
Naruto shouts back defensively about how he doesn’t need lessons as he fumbles for the door, finally getting it and slamming it shut, running off.
“Sai… that was mean. You cheeky bas—“ You get interrupted by your own gasp as his head returns between your legs.

Jealousy with the Naruto boys
A/n: I’ve seen this done multiple times so here’s my take on it :)
Warning/content: nothing :)
characters: Sasuke, Gaara, Sai
Tumblr media
Sasuke Uchiha
Tumblr media
☆ Sasuke claims to not be a jealous person, “he’s above that” as he puts it, but something about seeing you laughing and smiling with someone else makes him feel weird, insecure? No couldn’t be…. He likes to think that he’s just being overprotective and he’s not jealous, he believes he’s too good to be jealous and let’s be real, he’s far too prideful to admit he’s a little insecure. ☆
☆ One time when you guys were out in the Konoha market place, some person came up to you and started a casual conversation, but to Sasuke it seemed like this person was getting a little too close for comfort. So to solve this, he came up behind you and placed his arm over your shoulder giving the person a “can I help you?” Look, let’s say they didn’t stick around much longer. ☆
☆ If you try and bring up his jealous behavior, he’ll deny it adamantly. It’s not that he doesn’t trust you, he just doesn’t trust other people. If we’re being honest here, he’s deeply afraid of losing you, to him you’re the only person he has left. So even when he’s being a jealous prick, it comes from a place of love even if he doesn’t outright express it. ☆
Tumblr media
Gaara
☆ He wouldn’t consider himself a jealous person by any means, he love you and you love him. He has no reason to be insecure or jealous, but even the kazekage struggles to be reasonable sometimes, he’s only human after all. He wouldn’t be very upfront about his feelings, if you noticed jealous behavior then you’d have to bring it up because he won’t talk about it first. ☆
☆ One time you were waiting for a council meeting to be over and you were in meeting room with him, it was very boring like watching paint dry would’ve been more entertaining. You soon notice a younger council member staring at you trying to get your attention and smiling at you, you politely smile back but then Gaara catches on to the silent interaction. He wraps his arm around your waist, pulling you closer while clearing his throat and continuing speaking. ☆
☆ If you ultimately decide to confront him about his momentary jealous behavior, he won’t deny it but will probably be very embarrassed he was caught doing something like that even if you reassure him that you’re not upset and may even find his jealous protectiveness attractive…..☆
Tumblr media
☆ He didn’t know anything really about relationships do to growing up in Root, so you and to guide him and explain things basically. Some might’ve found It tiring but you found it endearing to an extent. He had never experienced jealousy before until he saw you talking to someone else who seemed to be pretty funny because you couldn’t stop laughing, he had a weird feeling in his chest and it made him feel *strange* he didn’t understand.☆
☆ He decided to try and get to the bottom of this weird feeling in his chest, so he decided to just outright tell you how he was feeling, you were kinda surprised, but after breaking through the momentary freeze and explained it to him. He was surprised, he never thought he’d be jealous, he trusted you, he knew you’d never do anything to hurt him. ☆
☆ There’s no really confronting him about jealous behavior because he’s very honest about how he’s feeling, he definitely forgets appropriate time and place sometimes when he says something, he’s unintentionally a good communicator because of how honest he is and won’t beat around the bush with how he feels. He loves you and wants you to know. ☆
Tumblr media
A/n: I’ve never written for Sai before, so sorry if his part sucks. Thanks for reading, love u <3
Do not repost
Edit: thank you all who heart or reblogged or in someway interacted with this post, it means so much <33

Yandere Team 7 Headcanons (Platonic)
❝ 🍥 — lady l: I couldn't get it out of my head and I just wrote it... It was longer than I expected but meh. I hope you like it and forgive me for any mistakes! ❤️
❝tw: obsessive and possessive behavior, overprotection, mild stalking and implicitly toxic relationships.
❝🍥pairing: platonic yandere!team 7 x gender neutral!reader.
Tumblr media
When you became part of Team 7, they didn't think much, or, some didn't think much or really foresee problems. Kakashi accepted you immediately, being welcoming from the start. He was confident that you would fit in well with the group, and in fact, he demonstrated his support openly and consistently.
On the other hand, some team members were more reserved. Sasuke and Sai, in particular, kept their distance at first, not showing much interest in getting closer to you. In contrast, Naruto and Sakura were more excited about your arrival. Naruto, with his warm personality, soon sought your attention and approval, while Sakura enjoyed spending time with you and engaged in conversations whenever she could.
However, as more time passed, you found yourself closer to each of them in your own way. They all cared about you to a degree but it didn't take long for it to get out of hand.
Kakashi was your sensei and he cared about you a lot, to a suffocating level. Naruto seemed to follow you around like a puppy, desperately wanting your attention and approval. Sakura liked to talk and spend time with you as much as she could.
Sasuke wasn't that open but he seemed to like you a little, especially when he acted strangely when others were around you. Sai hid the fact that he liked you better, but he still showed that he cared about you. Yamato was more expressive, showing his affection with encouraging and affectionate words.
Kakashi Hatake is extremely overprotective of you and he doesn't even try to hide it. He will always have something to say to anything you do, the people you talk to and your assignments. As your sensei, he has developed a strong feeling of responsibility and affection for you.
He is always attentive to everything you do, giving advice and warnings about your choices and relationships. His intention is clear: he wants to ensure your safety and well-being above all else. This behavior may be a result of the losses Kakashi has faced in his life, making him more wary of those he cares about. Kakashi will always be aware of everything about you.
Naruto Uzumaki is the most effusive and open about his affection for you. He follows you around like a puppy, constantly seeking your attention and approval. He is warm and genuine, always ready to support and cheer you up. He is a constant support for you, always ready to be by your side.
He can be somewhat obsessive, not because of his constant search for your approval, but because Naruto has moments when he finds himself imagining future scenarios for you. He wants to take care of you, he needs to have you by his side, it's almost like an obsession. Naruto cannot be despised by you. He can't.
Sakura Haruno becomes your close friend, enjoying spending as much time as possible by your side. She enjoys your conversations and company, seeing you as a confidant and a faithful friend. Sakura, being a person who deeply values her relationships, finds support and connection in you that she values greatly. Her affection is demonstrated through her constant presence and willingness to help.
She becomes a constant presence in your life, always appearing wherever you are with an excuse. Sakura is quite clingy and she needs to stay by your side as a form of reassurance. She will take care of you, not only because she is a medical ninja (in training or not) but because she likes to feel useful around you.
Sasuke Uchiha is more reserved, but he shows his appreciation in subtle ways. Although he is not overtly affectionate, he pays attention to you and acts strangely when others are around, indicating jealousy or special interest. Sasuke is complex and reserved, but his implicit protectiveness and careful looks show that he cares more than he lets on.
He is extremely possessive and, although he won't express it in words, Sasuke is very jealous of others towards you. He sees himself as entitled, not just because he likes you, but because you belong to him. Sasuke can't explain why and he doesn't even mind, but he is possessive about you and will fight with anyone who spends too much time by your side or looks at you the wrong way.
Sai Yamanaka initially seems indifferent, but little by little, he shows that he likes you. He hides his feelings well, but small actions, like being there when you need him or doing something kind for you, reveal his affection. Sai is in the process of understanding his own emotions, and through his interactions with you, he begins to express these feelings more clearly.
Although he doesn't show it clearly, Sai has his subtle ways around him. He doesn't show it much, but you can see him smiling often in your presence and often clamming up when someone else makes you laugh. He's not that possessive and he respects your boundaries, but Sai likes to have his solo time with you.
Yamato is more expressive in his affection. He uses encouraging words and open displays of affection to show you that he cares about you. He cares about your development and well-being, and his affection is visible and comforting. Yamato acts like an older brother, always ready to support and advise.
He is not afraid to express how much he likes you, and how much he admires you and will express this both verbally and physically. Yamato isn't suffocating but he likes to be around to ensure your safety. He has no problem with you having friends other than him, but he needs to know that you are his favorite, your number 1.
Together they are incredible protection for you. Kakashi is the main instigator of this protection. He watches your every step with an almost paternal concern. Naruto brings tireless energy and an unwavering sense of loyalty. His obsession and devotion to you means he's always close by, ready to spring into action if necessary. He daydreams about you and constantly looks for ways to please and protect you. Sakura is the empathetic and caring friend who always makes sure your emotional and physical needs are met. She is your confidant, always available to listen and care for you.
Sasuke acts as the dark guardian, always vigilant in warding off any potential threats. His critical assessment of the people around him makes him highly protective, especially against those he deems unworthy of you (everyone). Although he may seem distant, his dedication to keeping you safe is intense and relentless, eliminating any danger before it can get close to you.
Sai offers a silent balance, always at your side with practical advice and emotional support. He is the quiet observer, attentive to his needs and ready to act discreetly. Sai understands the importance of being present without being intrusive, ensuring you always have someone to rely on in times of uncertainty. Yamato is the encourager, always ready to lift your spirits with positive words and affectionate gestures. He is your constant moral support, always there to remind you of your worth and give you confidence.
As time passes, each member of Team 7 develops a unique relationship with you. They all care about you to different degrees and in different ways, creating a complex and rich dynamic. The mix of your personalities and the way each person expresses their affection makes you feel valued and an integral part of the group, despite the challenges that this closeness can bring.
They eliminate any possible threat with efficiency and determination, functioning as a cohesive team with a single goal: ensuring your safety and happiness. After all, they can't risk you leaving them, right? Not that they would let you anyway, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Naruto characters (Konoha 11) I think would fall first or fall harder
(Figuring out a way to write the title out was complicated for no reason, anyways this is basically just the 'who fell first and who fell harder' thing. Also Naruto, Sasuke, Choji, and Lee aren't included, and Sai is included. I would call it Konoha 13 but since I'm writing for 9 of the characters, ig it just makes sense for me to call it Konoha 11 instead of 13 since it's less)
Tumblr media
Shino Aburame
-He fell first and harder
Tumblr media
Shikamaru Nara
-You fell first and he fell harder
Tumblr media
Kiba Inuzuka
-He fell first and harder
Tumblr media
Neji Hyuga
-You fell first and harder
Tumblr media
Sai
-You fell first and he fell harder
Tumblr media
Sakura Haruno
-She fell first and harder
Tumblr media
Hinata Hyuga
-She fell first and harder
Tumblr media
Ino Yamanaka
-You fell first and she fell harder
Tumblr media
Tenten (I don't plan on writing her that much but I'll still include her here)
-She fell first and harder
Haven't posted in a little bit. I don't have a schedule ofc, but I just hate not posting for a slightly long time idk why. I might do another post (for bsd) today if I finish it but idk. Also first Naruto post, even though it's a really short post, I'm glad I actually got to write something for Naruto. I won't be writing Naruto stuff as much as I will for Bungou Stray Dogs though. Thank you for reading!

Hi! Can I request a Naruto Shippuden x Fem!reader where the reader met them all and was this cheerful little girl who loved flowers but as they got older she left or to them she just more likely disappeared but when she came back she was this whole different person now.
Now she's a pretty quiet and calm girl with a powerful aura around her, and if you find a black rose then that means that she was in that place, so what I mean is since she sued to like flowers but not a black rose is kinda her sign now, so the black rose represents her.
Lets say for example she fights with someone and disappears, then there's a black rose on the ground, which means that she was there in that place.
Also she's known as the ~Black Rose~ Since she always leaves a black rose as a sign
Note: She was childhood friends with, Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura also knew her along with Ino but then when she came back they told the others about her (or you can do it in your way, I'll leave the rest to you)
Feel free to ignore this for whatever reason if you want <3

Word Count: 8000+
Warnings: angst, battles, violence, blood, injuries, hospital, mentions of serious injuries, flashbacks, worried friends, light arguing, crying, good ending, references to the Hidden Waterfall Village (don’t know if anyone knows about that episode)
a/n: I want to say that this is the first request I have ever done, and I usually don’t take requests; I just write whatever I want to. However, I thought that this could be a chance to experience something new and depending on how this goes, I might do more requests in the future. But I need some time to figure out if this is a good thing to start or if I should keep doing what I’ve been doing. So for anyone it may concern, I’m trying to figure this whole “request” thing because it’s new to me. Thank you for understanding! Hope you enjoy!

“Do you know which flower this one is, Sakura?” The little girl asked her pink and blonde haired friends.
The pink haired girl shook her head but the blonde nodded.
“That is a Gladiolus!”
“That’s right, Ino! They come in red, pink, white, yellow and orange. But the most important thing is that they have medical properties, so the medic ninja use them all the time for healing.”
Sakura expressed her astonishment. “Wow, that’s so cool! You and Y/N sure know a lot about flowers.”
“Well what do you expect? My family does run a flower shop.” Ino grinned at Sakura with a little giggle following.
Then Y/N chirped in, “And I’ve been studying at the library. If you want Sakura, I’d be happy to teach you about flowers.”
Sakura gasped. “Would you really? Oh that sounds like so much fun!”
Y/N laughed happily, clapping her hands together at the same time. “Yeah! We’re gonna have lots of fun!”
With no effort, her eyes sprang open; staring tiredly at the wooden ceiling above.
She laid there a few more seconds before she forced her head to turn over to the right. On just the other wall, there was a small window with the light of the sun shining through; it was time to get up.
______
At the same time, many people of the village were getting up and ready, especially the Leaf ninja, prepared to be sent on missions.
Ino, after slipping into her uniform, walked out into the street to head straight to the Hokage’s office.
Despite the early hour, the village was already bustling with life. Many people were out shopping, organizing food stalls, and the like.
By this point in her life, Ino was really all that surprised anymore by the efficiency of the Leaf village. Everyone was always quick to start the day, even the regular citizens. It made being a ninja all the more worth it in her opinion; she could protect the prosperity of her home while doing what she’d always wanted to do.
As Ino was making her way down the dirt road, a familiar voice called out to her.
“Hey, Ino!”
Her violet eyes darted off the right, several feet in front of her there stood Sakura.
Ino smiled and waved at her. “Hey Sakura!”
The pink haired ninja suddenly came running over to her side, and then they both continued to walk together down the road. “Good morning.”
“Good morning. What are you doing up so early? I thought you had the day off today.” Ino asked curiously.
“I did, but Lady Tsunade suddenly summoned me. She said she had an important mission for me.” Sakura answered politely.
Ino made a noise, like a hum at the news. “Does it have anything to do with the hidden Waterfall village?”
“Yeah actually, it does.”
Ino looked over at her friend as they walked side by side. “It could be a serious mission then. Do you think she’ll combine our teams?”
“I’m not sure, it’s entirely possible.” Sakura said, moving her gaze back to the dirt path in front of her. “Guess we won’t know until we get there.”
“Yeah, guess so.” Ino agreed, not saying anything else for a couple of minutes. They continued down the path in silence for several more minutes when something just popped into Ino’s head.
“You know, it’s been three years.”
Sakura, knowing exactly what she was talking about, nodded (more to herself). “Since Y/N disappeared.”
Ino hummed again. “I can’t believe how much time has passed. So much has happened.”
“I know. The hardest part is not knowing if she’s okay or not, or if she’s even alive. It reminds me too much of when…” Sakura began to say, but paused as she felt her throat tighten up. “When Sasuke left.” Ino stopped in her tracks, resting her hand on Sakura’s shoulder and forcing her to stop as well. Her green eyes whipped up to meet Ino’s, seeing a look of sympathy on her face.
If anyone understood that feeling of hopelessness (besides Naruto), it would be Ino.
“Don’t worry too much about it, okay? Y/N is nothing like Sasuke; she’ll come back one day. I have faith.” The blonde ninja ressaured.
This made Sakura smile, and her body language indicated that she felt a bit better. “Thank you, Ino.”
Ino patted her shoulder a few times. “No problem. Now let’s hurry to Lady Tsunade’s office, or kill us for being late.”
Sakura laughed in response before heading towards the Hokage building, near the back of the village.
It took only a little while, but eventually Ino and Sakura made their way to the Hokage mansion, and stepped inside Tsunade’s office. Once they did, they saw Shikamaru, Choji, Naruto, and Sai already inside.
“Oh I’m sorry, M’Lady. Are we late?” Sakura apologized, a tad bit nervous that they’d get chewed out.
“No, in fact, I was just about to explain the mission.” Tsunade assured, then leading into the details. “As you may already be aware you all are going to be heading to the Hidden Waterfall village.”
Naruto perked up. “The Hidden Waterfall village?”
Tsunade nodded. “That’s right. I know that three years ago you escorted Lord Shibuki to his homeland safely, and now I’m asking you to return.”
“Please tell me that this doesn’t have anything to do with escorting his son to become the next leader, who’s just as cowardly as he was.” Naruto sighed, clearly annoyed.
“No, there have been reports of the Akatsuki sighted patrolling the village.”
Shikamaru chirped in. “So that’s why you’re assembling such a big team.”
“That’s correct. I don’t want to be taken by surprise, so that’s why I’m assigning all six of you to go and see if there is any truth to these reports. And with that, I’m also assigning you as squad leader, Shikamaru.” Tsunade explained, hands propped up on the desk, fingers intertwined. “You have half an hour to get ready and head to the Hidden Waterfall village, understood?”
“Understood!” Everyone in the room agreed at once and quickly headed out of the office.
Meanwhile, Y/N stalked a rogue shinobi from up in the massive forest, surrounding the Land of Fire.
He had no idea she was there, no inkling at all which made her one of the most efficient ninja in the Hidden Leaf Village.
And the fact that he was distracted with a meeting in the middle of the woods kept him occupied. He was speaking with five other people, exchanging stolen information about the Leaf with them. Though the other individuals were handing him back scrolls of what she assumed was information on other villages as well.
At least after she took down these ninja, she could find out what information was being sold off.
After about ten minutes, the five other shinobi shook hands with the rogue ninja and quickly scattered.
She watched the rogue one sit down onto the ground, taking out a water canister and unscrewing the top.
Being confident that he wasn’t going, Y/N made a hand sign and produced five clones. All of them (including the real Y/N)looked at each other and nodded.
The clones disappeared while Y/N remained inside the thick foliage of the tree leaves.
Her eyes centered on the rogue ninja, relaxing against the tree she was currently hiding in and then abruptly jumped down, colliding elegantly with the solid ground.
The man jumped back clearly startled by her appearance. “What the hell?!”
From her crouching position, Y/N’s sharp eyes, black masked face whip up to make direct, face to face contact with him. She hears the man gasp and try to reach into his bag for a weapon.
Before his hand can even make contact with the pouch, Y/N throws long, precision needles into the man’s arm; pinning him to the dirt.
The man lets out a shout of pain and his arm is pinned at a 90o angle, and stuck behind his back. “What do you want?!” Y/N approaches the man, completely unphased by his screams. Her domineering stance and quiet nature makes the man visibly sweat, and he finds it hard to make any kind of rational thought.
This woman, this woman right here was unlike anything he’d ever seen.
Completely silent in her approach, beautiful figure, graceful in the way she moved with deadly precision, dark eyes locked on him, and an aura that reeked power; unadulterated power.
Never in his life had he ever met a woman that was able to combine beauty with danger; it was a combination he believed didn’t exist and yet here it was.
Should he be scared or impressed? He wasn’t sure.
He tried to reach for another weapon with his other hand, but another, foreign hand had wrapped around his wrist and pinned it there.
When he turned his head to look, he saw that it was a clone of Y/N, a flurry of black rose petals appearing as quickly as the clone had. It piqued his curiosity.
“Don’t try that again.” Y/N finally said, voice low and smooth.
“I asked you what you wanted.” The man grunted out, trying now not to move around too much.
Y/N walked forward, slipped her hand into the side pocket of his uniform and pulled out a seal scroll with the information he traded for earlier. “I want this.”
He watched Y/N neatly put away the scroll into her back pouch before speaking. “You looking for information on other villages too?”
“Actually, I’m looking for those documents you stole from the Leaf, but if I happen to gain a bit of an advantage over another village then so be it,” She softly explains, tone never fluctuating.
Without warning, the man burst out laughing. “Oh, I’m sorry! I’m afraid that those pretty little documents are already on their way out of the Land of Fire.”
Finally, Y/N’s voice changed when she hummed in amusement. “I wouldn’t be too sure about that.”
As soon as she finished, four clones then appeared at Y/N’s side. She raised her hand up just a bit and snapped her fingers; like that each of them, including the clone pinning the man’s arm, revealed the stolen documents he had just sold off to other rogue ninja.
More black petals floated down from the air as each one of her clones suddenly appeared before them.
His eyes widened in complete shock, air getting stuck in his throat almost preventing him from taking a proper breath.
They kept the documents out only for a couple of seconds then slid them back into their packs.
“Looks like this is the end of the line for you.”
“Wait!” The man screamed out, making Y/N pause for a moment to see what he wanted. When a couple of seconds passed, the man spoke again.
“There were rumors, started a couple of years ago. They were about a rogue assassin, killing other ninja left and right.” The man explained, the cold sweat rolling down his temples.
Y/N said nothing, it made him swallow nervously. “No one could find their bodies; all that was left were pools of blood and a single black rose.”
Then Y/N squinted at him, eyes narrow and fierce. “They called this assassin: Black Rose. I thought it was just rumors but…”
“You’ve changed your mind?” Y/N asked condescendingly.
“Well I’ve never seen anyone leave black petals lying around when they use clones or teleport said clones.”
There was a pregnant pause as both parties stared at each other, one’s heart racing and the other’s heart steady as drum.
Y/N clicked her tongue. “You should’ve believed the rumors, maybe you could’ve lived longer. Your complacency is what led you here.”
She saw the man tense up. “I believe them now so maybe we could make a deal.”
He tried to sound tough or unaffected by the aura surrounding this woman, but inside the terror was speeding over her nerves, up his spine, nearing choking him.
“I don’t make deals with rogues. I’m afraid that this is the end for you.”
“No!” The man screamed out, the panic now controlling him.
No please, I’ll do whatever you want. I’ve got resources, information; just tell me what you want.” The man pleaded.
Y/N took a step back, raising both hands to form a single hand sign. “I want you to disappear.” Then in a barrage of hand signs, too fast to keep, Y/N weaved her fingers together before landing on the final sign. “Ninja art: Black Flower Decay.”
A whirlwind of black flower petals swirled around them as if the wind was guiding their movements, eching their way closer and closer.
The man watched the petals coming his way and one single petal landed on his cheek; it was hot, burned even. But it was one petal, and for a split second he thought maybe he could take it, however that thought quickly left his mind when more petals started to collect on his skin.
Now the burning sensation grows in intensity until eventually the pain became overwhelming. The man again screamed out but this time it was more gutural; more real.
In a final blow, the wind directs the flower petals on every square inch of the man’s body. Then the petals began to completely break down the man’s body til nothing was left.
The man’s body was gone, the clones disappeared, the petals vanished, and the only thing left was a single black rose placed on the ground.
In seconds, Y/N was already miles away from the location of the rogue she’d just eliminated. Not to mention the other shinobi that she also killed when they took off with information that could’ve easily led to the destruction of the Leaf.
And no matter what she was not going to let that happen, not when she loved ones waiting for her.
Three years had passed since she was assigned on this mission, and not a single day went by that she didn’t think about her friends back home.
She wondered if any of them had made Chunin or Jounin, or if Lee had made a complete recovery from his surgery, or even wondered if Hinata had confessed her feelings for Naruto.
These were the types of things that wandered through her head, the things that kept her sane. Though after all this time, she wondered if they thought about her.
Maybe the first couple of months, sure since it was only a couple of months after Sasuke abandoned them all that she was sent away, but they were ninja; they had to focus on training, completing missions, trying not to die.
Truth be told, they most likely didn’t have the time to even wonder about her well being. Who would after three years? For someone who didn’t even say goodbye?
Oh well…
She was assigned a mission and had to complete it no matter what. That’s why Lady Tsunade entrusted this mission to her and only her.
Y/N was ripped out of her thoughts by a sudden and powerful burst of lightning right for her.
In a split second, she managed to dodge the attack in mid air and jumped to the nearest tree branch. From behind the sound of the lighting making contact with another tree causing the wood to splitter and blow apart.
The attack kicked up a bunch of dust to which nothing was visible for a couple of minutes.
Y/N waved her hand through the air to try to clear the area, watching as the dust only moved away from her general vicinity but nowhere else.
Her eyes darted around trying to fight the source of the attack, but before she could come to a conclusion she heard a voice from a somewhat short distance.
“I’m surprised you were able to dodge that so easily.”
That voice, that voice sounded familiar.
No, it couldn’t be.
As quickly as it appeared, a gust of wind swept away the debris, wiping the area completely clean of any signs of attack.
Her eyes widened, staring directly at the figure that stood on the solid ground twenty feet away. It was-
“Sasuke?”
“Most people would have been killed by an attack like that.” The Uchiha stated coldly.
Shaking the surprise, Y/N pulled herself back into espionage mode. “What are you doing here, Sasuke? Finally have a guilty conscience and decide to get over your superiority complex?”
Sasuke didn’t react. He didn’t smirk, or laugh sarcastically, he simply stood there with a cool expression. “You’ve caused Orochimaru some trouble; eliminating his line of resources and so he’s asked me to deal with you.”
“He’s still alive then. I’m surprised, I figured by now you would have killed him and taken control over his lackeys.” Y/N continued to retort back while on the inside she was getting nervous.
He hadn’t demonstrated his full power, however she’s always known he was strong. He was a Uchiha afterall.
“That will come eventually. Unfortunately, there is still something I need from him so until then I will do what I have to do.”
Y/N didn’t have anything else to say instead she stood there quietly, her right hand subtly reaching behind her into her tool bag.
Just as she had the kunai out of the pouch, she watched Sasuke vanish and his overwhelming presence was suddenly behind her.
She whipped her head around, eyes meeting a pair of crimson ones.
________
“This is so stupid!” Naruto complained very loudly for all to hear.
“Oh shut up, Naruto! You haven't stopped complaining since we left the Hidden Waterfall Village.” Sakura yelled back at him.
All Naruto did was huff as the entire team dashed across the treetops.
“It’s just if there are going to be rumors about the Akatsuki hanging around, they could at least do me the favor of actually being there.” Naruto added with a pout.
“Are you serious?” Choji chirped in from the back of the formation.
Then Shikamaru cut in. “Think about it; if the Akatsuki were actually there, we would’ve had our hands full even with the six of us.”
“Besides, you should know by now that rumors are not always true. So stop pouting.” Ino interjected as well, her own annoyance palpable in her tone.
Naruto grumbled in response, whatever words he was spouting to himself not audible to anyone else.
He remained mumbling for a while, even sprinting ahead of everyone without thinking about it.
“Stupid Akatsuki, stupid mission, stupid Shikamaru, stupid…” His vision caught an unusual color in the corner of his eye.
It wasn’t far so he immediately went to go take a closer look, oblivious to his team members flying right by only to stop once they noticed he was going in a different direction.
“Where do you think he’s going?” Sai asked, not expecting anyone to know that answer.
“Naruto! What are you doing?” Sakura from up on a tree branch as she saw Naruto jump down to the dirt floor.
He did not turn around to reply, but kept walking through the grass and bushes of the forest. “There’s something weird over here.”
Sai, Sakura, Ino, Shikamru, and Choji all exchanged looks of confusion before Sakura followed after him first and hopped down off the tree.
Naruto had a few feet on them as he stepped into a small clearing, seeing blood painting the ground.
He gawked at the sight for a second then focused on the next unusual thing, more unusual than blood in the middle of the woods.
In the middle of the pools of blood sat a single black rose.
Throwing caution to the wind, Naruto reached forward to grab ahold of the rose. His fingers had barely skimmed the surface of the dark petals when Sakura’s voice called out to him.
“What are you doing?! It could set off a trap.”
Naruto was too wrapped up in his own thoughts that his brain didn’t register anything his teammate was saying as he turned around to face them with the rose in the palm of his hand.
“Guys, what’s a rose doing out in the middle of nowhere like this and around all this blood?”
Once the gang’s eyes rested on the rose in Naruto’s hand most of them remained confused, but Shikamaru’s expression changed to one of knowing anxiety.
“Black Rose.” Was all Shikamaru uttered and everyone looked over at him now.
“What?” Choji questioned first.
“There’s been a lot of disappearances within the Land of Fire lately, all kinds of ninja gone in the blink of an eye with only their blood and a single black rose left behind.” Shikamaru explained, taking a moment to observe the battle field they were standinding before continuing.
“While there’s not a lot of tangible proof, the ninja that’s been doing this has been credited with over a hundred assassinations over the last three years factoring in they are even assassinations; but given the amount of blood I would say so.”
Ino couldn’t help but perk up at the mention of three years. She subconsciously mouthed them to herself, and her mind immediately jumped to the realization that her best friend had been gone that exact amount of time.
Is it possible-
There was a thud and a rustling within a tree off to the team’s right, about six feet away.
It took only a moment for each member to get into a defensive formation as they eyed the direction in which the rustling came from.
The tree leaves moved around a bit some more and then a figure fell out from the tree landing at the team’s feet causing all of them to jump back.
Even Sakura and Ino had gasped when this mysterious fell out of thin air.
From what they could see, it was a female; about their age, probably about average height with what looked to be a long scarf hanging around her neck and covering part of her face.
It was easy to tell that she was very unconscious even with her face covered. And she was injured.
“She’s bleeding!” Naruto pointed out as soon as he realized that fact.
He rushed over to her side while assessing her wounds, then reached to pull her mask off. His back blocked the others' view of the female and they waited for any kind of signal from Naruto.
“Uh guys?” He said, voice laced with shock and a slight tremble of anxiousness.
“What is it, Naruto?” Shikamaru calmly asked.
Without another word, Naruto took a couple of steps to the side revealing the woman to them.
There was lull in all sound, even the breeze that rushed against their ears suddenly went quiet. Everything that had once made sound now only sounded like the white noise coming from a tv, growing louder by each passing second.
It was almost too much.
“Y/N?” Ino’s voice broke them out of their trance right before she took a hesitant step forward.
Her mind seemed to catch up as she lunged forward, her best friend’s name leaving her mouth one more time. “Y/N!”
She bent down next to Naruto, violet eyes darting across Y/N’s body to see if they were more serious injuries. In her search, she saw a large laceration across Y/N’s back. The blood from the wound had soaked into the fabric of her uniform causing a clot to form there.
“She has a severe wound on her back, it’s big; probably eight inches in length.” Ino started to describe, weaving a quick hand sign then holding her hand over Y/N’s back, her hands glowing green as she began to heal the opening.
Sakura rushed over, appearing on the other side of Y/N. “Has it begun to clot?”
“A bit.” Ino answered curtly. “It looks like the tissue itself wasn’t. The blood soaked into the shirt, it’s acting as a sort of gauze.”
The others stepped closer to nervously observe Ino and Sakura’s movements.
Sakura then reached into her back pouch to pull out a black-brownish jar with a rigid lid. “Sai! Come over here.”
Sai reacted swiftly, making it to Sakura’s side in no time as she opened the jar in her hands.
“Now Sai, I want you to very slowly and very carefully peel back the fabric of her shirt; as you do I’m going to apply this paste to keep the wound from bleeding. It’ll act as a temporary bandage. You got it?”
“Got it!”
And just as Sakura had said Sai followed her instructions to the letter and as she mentioned as well, every inch of skin that was revealed under the uniform shirt, she applied a nearly transparent gel onto the surface of the wound to keep it from free flowing.
The moment that was finished, Sakura put the jar away and directed her gaze to Ino. “We have to go, it’s another couple of hours to the village at least. If she’s gonna make it, we have to go now.”
Ino nodded, stopping her healing and taking a hold of one of Y/N’s arms; the one closest to her. “Let’s get her up.” Sai then assisted with the other arm, and they both wrapped each arm around their shoulders.
“If we really push it, we can make it back to the village in less time.” Shikamaru suggested, his expression now back to normal with a subtle hint of concern.
“Well let's hurry then.” Choji added.
Naruto quickly stood up from his position, bringing a fist slamming into his other palm with a look of determination on his face. “Yeah the only chance Y/N’s got is if we stop talking and get on with it.”
All six ninja exchanged brief glances at each other then took off in the direction of the village with Y/N coming in and out of consciousness.
It felt like a lifetime but eventually they made it and as Shikamaru had said, they really pushed it and got there in only thirty minutes.
It was definitely a rough half hour, although it was a small price to pay for getting their friend the treatment that she desperately needed.
They all barged into the hospital, shouting several things all at once that it was hard for the front desk nurse to understand what they were saying. The point got across after Lady Tsunade showed up.
She’d heard that Y/N had returned to the village or rather had been dragged back because she had a serious injury to the back.
Sakura requested that she assist Tsunade in the surgery, but she denied it saying that Shizune would assist which left Sakura feeling helpless.
Tsunade understood that she wanted to help her teammate and friend, someone who had disappeared much like her love Sasuke, but even from a glance she could easily discern that Y/N’s injuries were serious.
Even though Sakura was a skilled medic ninja, she lacked the experience of delicate surgeries and Y/N’s condition required delicacy.
Sakura, Naruto, Sai, Shikamaru, Ino, and Choi waited with what could barely be considered patience, out in the waiting room.
Everyone sat down in an uncomfortable chair except for Naruto; he opted to pace.
Of course it set everyone on edge, but he has always been a fidgety person so add a bit of stress to that and he couldn’t sit still.
Though, Sakura did yell at him for not sitting like a normal person (her words). Normally Naruto wouldn’t have argued with the matter because she would’ve beaten him to a pulp for not heeding her word, but not this time.
He exclaimed that there was no way he could sit down since one of his friends was in surgery. Sakura remained quiet after that.
The silence permeated the very air they were breathing as they kept waiting for some sort of news on Y/N’s condition.
Until finally, Tsunade came out to meet them.
“She’s going to be just fine.” That was the first thing she said to them with a confident smile.
All the young shinobi had sighed in relief, the stress dripping off their shoulders to disappear forever.
“However,” Tsunade prefaced, “She’s in a medically induced coma so she won’t wake up for a while. The best thing she needs right now is sleep; this is also to keep her from moving around with that back injury so it’ll heal.”
Once more the young ninja exchanged looks of relief, happy to know that their friend was going to make it.
________
Nearly a week passed before Y/N woke up from her coma.
Her eyes felt the glare from the sunlight seeping in from the outside, and a warm sensation encasing her wrist.
When her gaze shifted to the presence of the warmth, she saw Lady Tsunade standing at her bedside while checking her pulse.
Honestly, at first, she didn’t recognize Tsunade for a few seconds until she spoke up.
“Well hello there, sleepy head. Finally decided to wake up.”
Y/N blinked a few times. “Lady Tsunade?”
The Hokage gently set Y/N’s hand back down to her side before crossing her arms and smiling down at the young woman. “Welcome back to the land of the living.”
“How-” She looked around the hospital room confused. “How did I get here?”
“I had sent several of your friends out on a mission to investigate rumors of the Akatsuki near the Hidden Waterfall village and on they’re way back, they found you lying in the middle of the forest.” Tsunade wasted no time explaining, her smile falling to a more casual expression.
Y/N’s eyes darted away to the hospital ceiling again, mouth gaped open subconsciously as her mind flashed back to that last thing she remembered.
“I vaguely remember somebody picking me up from the ground, but it’s all kind of hazy after that.” Y/N admitted.
Tsunade took a deep breath before speaking. “That’s not shocking, you were critically injured. It’s a miracle you were still alive when they brought you in.”
Both paused to gather their thoughts, the room becoming silent.
“What happened to you out there?” Tsunade asked with a startling seriousness.
She took some time to think through it, going back to every second stuck in her struggle against an old classmate. A classmate she actually used to know fairly well, and now he was nothing more than a stranger that she crossed unfortunate paths with.
“It was Sasuke.”
Tsunade didn’t even look surprised or shocked, it seemed as though she was already aware of who had almost killed her. After a minute or two, Tsunade nodded (more to herself).
“I see.”
“You don’t look surprised.” Y/N mentioned quickly.
The older blonde woman shook her head. “When I was performing your surgery, it was easy to make out the lightning pattern on your back. And not only that, upon taking a closer look I could see that the lightning had managed to barely sear the bone of your spine.”
She watched Y/N’s eyes widened at the revelation. Tsunade continued, “The attack was so precise that it scarred the bone, there’s one person I can think of that could use lightning like that.”
Y/N listened in horror, while trying to keep her mind from exploding with all the information coming in at once. “I am going to be okay?”
“Yes, luckily the scarring on your spine was superficial and there was no permanent damage that will affect your ability to walk or anything of the sort. The real problem was trying to close off the laceration, but that’s been taken care of too.”
“Oh thank goodness…” Y/N breathed a sigh of relief, holding her hand up to her chest.
Tsunade stepped forward, arms resting back at her sides. “However, you will need to rest as much as you can and you’ll need to start physical therapy.”
Y/N grumbled something under her breath; she would’ve rolled her eyes but her head hurt too much.
“Don’t get an attitude with me. It’s important to get your body back up to speed, that surgery took a lot out of you.” Tsunade scolded, her own brows pinching together in a frown.
“Yeah, yeah I know.” The younger ninja waved her off, choosing to now stare at the wall ahead of her as she sat up against her pillows.
She tried to suppress a deep rooted groan, unfortunately it proved useless, as the shock of pain in her back caught her off guard.
Her mouth let out a gasp before her teeth came clamping down on each other to soften any other noises that would try to escape.
“Try to move around slowly. Even if you were asleep for a week, you need to give yourself some time to heal.”
Y/N’s nearly popped out of her skull when those words processed in her brain. “A week? I’ve been here a whole week?”
Lady Tsunade opened her mouth to say something only to be interrupted when the hospital room door came slamming open.
“I can’t take it anymore!”
A familiar bright blonde haired male came bursting into the room with no regard for what anyone else was saying (Tsunade). He ran over to Y/N’s bedside, a now bright grin on his face.
“Hey Y/N, how ya doing?” He asked casually. It soon earned him a hard whack to the back of the head, a pink haired girl moving in.
“Naruto, you idiot! I told you to WAIT!” Sakura shouted quite angrily. Then she yanked Naruto back by the collar of his orange and black jacket.
Slowly, but surely several other people began to filter into the room, each other with their own unique uniform design.
And she knew every single one of them! Her face didn’t show it but she was glad to see them, it had been too long since the last time she saw them and now here they were.
Every one of them was taller than she remembered; particularly Shikamaru. Back then, she used to think that Shikamaru was kind of small but not so much now; he was fuller, broader.
He had grown up quite a bit.
Sakura had still been yelling at Naruto when Y/N shook herself out of her head, and focused on what was happening right now.
“Come on, Sakura…Cut me some slack okay? It’s been forever since I saw her last.”
“Ugh…” Sakura sighed as she placed a couple of fingers to her temple to dampen the oncoming headache. She switched gears in a few seconds as she faced Y/N, a small replacing the scowl.
“It’s been too long though, what have you been up to?” She nicely asked.
Y/N paused for a second as she thought of what to say; suddenly her throat felt unusable and her mind blanked. All the time she spent thinking of her friends, she never thought about what she’d say once she saw them again.
“O-oh…you know, finishing up a mission” She plainly answered, trying to sound like she used to.
What did she used to sound like?
There echoed a collective noise of surprise coming from her friends, their faces matching that.
“A mission? You mean the past three years, you’ve been on a mission?” Ino cut in, stepping forward to now be standing close by Y/N’s left side.
Y/N’s eyes danced over the faces of the people she once knew, to realize that they were different. It made her throat feel snapped shut.
She swallowed, noticing the soreness of it. “Yeah…”
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Choji asked, his voice taking on obvious sadness.
Y/N went to answer but Tsunade cut her off. “It was a stealth mission of the highest order. It needed to be kept secret. No one was allowed to even be aware of why or when she was leaving the village.”
“So that’s why you left without saying goodbye.” Ino voiced as she held her hand against her chest as if she were trying to keep herself focused on the now instead of thinking on what happened back then. She wouldn't admit it out loud, but when she learned that Y/N was gone and no one knew why, she feared that she had succumbed to the same darkness that corrupted Sasuke.
Y/N was her best friend, they told each other everything especially the dumbest of stuff. They always said “Hi” or Good morning, always trading a goodbye before departing on a mission. In some weird way, they felt secure in that. To them it felt like a guarantee that even though they said goodbye it would never be the last.
So when Y/N suddenly wasn’t there anymore, it left Ino afraid that she had been unable to stop her from following a path with no way to return.
Y/N hung her head in shame, now having a difficult time looking them in the eyes. All she saw was the lingering disappointment swimming in their eyes.
“You’re different than before.” Naruto added in the middle of the silence.
She knew all too well.
“Back then, whenever you were around us you were always smiling, always laughing with us. And even when we’d end up in the hospital after a mission, you were always there to cheer us up.” Naruto continued, his usual boisterous personality on the back burner as he spoke softly and sincerely.
“But now, you’ve got this blank look on your face like you don’t know what smiling is.”
He wasn’t wrong. Not at all.
Three years spent on a mission tucking away her feelings, forgetting how much she missed being home and being with friends, and forgetting what made her who she is would make anyone feel as if they didn’t belong in the very place they called home.
It wasn’t a revelation she was prepared for.
The moment she tied that headband to her head she thought the it would be in the middle of the battlefield that she’d feel the most on edge, never did she think that moment would fall on her when she was surrounded by those she loved.
“Don’t be so insensitive, Naruto.” Sakura scolded him again, though this time she spoke less angrily and more concerned for Y/N’s reaction.
“Look, what I’m saying is that you’re not the same as before. What happened out there?”
Finally, Y/N looked up. “A lot of things happened out there. And-”
“Okay, that’s enough for one day.” Shikamaru advised after several minutes of not speaking.
“But Shikamaru-” Naruto began but Shikamaru spoke over him.
“Remember she’s suffered a critical injury; she still needs time to heal and us bringing up details of a delicate mission isn’t helping.”
At that, Naruto’s blue eyes drifted to the tiled floor in a silent agreement.
“Shikamaru is right, the best thing you all can do for her is to let her rest. Her bandages need replaced anyway, so clear out.” Tsunade ordered gently while crossing her arms over her chest.
Silently, each member made their way out of the room, glancing back to Y/N a few times (collectively) before they were out the door. Y/N and Tsunade waited until they could no longer hear their footsteps to say anything else.
“He’s right.” Y/N uttered, staring down at her palms.
“That’s his other gift…” Tsunade said thoughtfully, walking around Y/N’s bed to face the window. “He senses changes in people, no matter how subtle. It’s easy to forget when he acts like a moron.”
Y/N felt her mouth quirk up into a sentimental smile. “It's because of that ability that makes him such a force to be reckoned with.”
“I agree.” Tsunade stood by the window for a few more moments then looked over her shoulder at Y/N. “Alright, how about we get those bandages changed?”
________
Time passed, at what felt like, a blink.
Another week passed before Y/N was cleared to go home, but it felt like time rushed by her. Even when her friends would visit her, the hours they’d spend trying to fill Y/N on what she missed, seemed like mere minutes; gone without a chance to turn around.
Maybe that was better.
Since that first visit, Y/N hadn’t been able to shake the feeling of guilt hanging over her. Every time any one of her old friends came to see her, she saw the sadness in their eyes.
She attempted to act like how she used to, happily-go-lucky, but it was all forced and definitely difficult to keep that up so she quickly decided to let it naturally come back to her.
Whenever that would happen.
It was hard; knowing that her friends expected her to revert back to the old days, and be who she was. And she wanted to be that for them, she truly did, it’s just being on a mission that negated any sort of humanly interaction or connection made it seem like it was all a dream to begin with.
And when she couldn’t deliver, the disappointment always returned.
Now she was a walking blank canvas; splashed with a coat of white to hide any unique colors and patterns.
It almost scared her how much she didn’t react or feel.
Would she ever be the same?
The thought lingered at the forefront of her mind while Y/N sat criss cross on her own bed.
Her back was slouching a bit which caused her to grunt in pain when she straightened herself out again.
Lady Tsunade ordered her to sit as straight as she possibly could to help the healing process, but she was a creature of habit so she’d start out with correct posture then slip back into a slouch then would quickly correct herself again.
It was causing a lot of unnecessary pain.
Y/N huffed as she forced her shoulders to lie straight and back up, being as perpendicular as she could. While she did so, she kept her eyes on the blue sky filled with an abundance of white, fluffy clouds.
Cloud watching was a hobby of her’s, particularly when there wasn’t a lot going on during her mission.
Any time she felt nervous or anxious or bored, she’d tilt her head back and watch them float.
There was something very relaxing about that process.
But she didn’t enjoy it for long when a knock came at her door. Y/N perked up, head whipping to the other side of her room.
“Who is it?” She asked aloud.
“It’s me, Ino.” The muffled voice said on the other side of the door.
Bracing herself, Y/N carefully lifted her aching body up from the bed to make her way to the front door.
She opened the door to find an anxious Ino, twiddling her thumbs. “Hi.”
“Hey, can you come with me somewhere?” Ino abruptly asked.
Y/N raised a brow at her. “I guess, but where are we going?”
Her answer visibly made Ino relax. She let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. “It’s a surprise.”
Then she turned on her heel, making her way down the apartment building hallway and in no time, Y/N followed close behind her.
For some reason, Ino chose not to make conversation on the way to wherever it was they were going.
Instead she quietly led the way, leaving the village houses behind with each passing step and ventured through some trees.
Something about the path they were taking looked familiar, so much so that it caused a warmth to center in Y/N’s gut spreading over her nerves like a warm blanket.
When it came to forests, three years isn’t enough time for it to change, and it looked exactly as it did back then.
Ino eventually stepped through the set of trees, and made it into a sunbathed clearing, completely lavished with a mass of flowers.
Y/N eyes grew wide at the sight; she couldn’t remember the last time she had been here even before she left.
Once she graduated from the academy there was never time to come back here, to relax and enjoy the simple colors of the flowers and their comforting smells wafting through the air.
It still looked like the small piece of heaven she loved so dearly.
“I can tell you remember this place.” Ino finally said, turning around to fully face Y/N; a soft smile on her face. “I know how much you used to love it here.”
“Why are we here?” Y/N asked, her own gaze observing every flower grazing her legs.
Ino stepped up to Y/N, laying a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Because we loved this place when we were kids, so let’s enjoy it.”
Then Ino lightly nudged Y/N to follow her again and this time they didn’t walk that much further when they met a slight slope slanting downwards from where they were.
Ino took a spot on the small slope, then again nudged for Y/N to sit down with her. She did.
As soon as Y/N seated herself onto a patch of grass, Ino reached out and pulled out a white flower with a yellow center. “Do you remember what kind of flower this is?”
Y/N let out a quick airy laugh, caught slightly off guard by the question. “Uh..a jasmine.”
Ino nodded with a smile. Still holding the jasmine, she plucked out another one. This flower was drenched in a bright pink, petals resembling lace. “This one?”
“A carnation.”
She picked another one; it had a long green stem with a bushel of tiny purple petals at the top. “This one?”
Y/N nodded. “Lavender.”
Reaching for one more, Ino pulled up a flower with a somewhat stringy inside, center white and the petals gradually from that bright white to a light pink.
“How about this one?”
To Y/N’s shock, she didn’t recognize it. It definitely looked familiar, but there were several other flowers popping in her head that matched the look of it.
Staring at the flower, Y/N cautiously shook her head as if she were afraid she would disappoint Ino.
Ino held the flower up to her nose to smell the fragrance, closing her eyes a second to relish it before opening them again. “It’s a gladiolus.”
Y/N sadly decided not to respond to that.
“It was your favorite one back then. When we were still in the academy, you told Sakura and I  that they could be all sorts of colors like pink..” she gestured to the pink one in her hand. “Or yellow or white. And you also said that they had healing properties used by our medic ninja. It was easy to tell how excited you were to tell us about it; how much you knew about flowers.”
“What’s going on, Ino? Why are we out here?” Y/N finally confronted the strange behavior of her friend.
Ino rested her hands in her lap, the flowers she’d plucked nearly falling from her limp hands. “I thought that if I could remind you of what you used to do, what we used to do together when we were kids, maybe it’d bring back the part of you that’s been hiding.”
“And you were the only one who wasn’t disappointed in me to try, huh?” Y/N laughed humorlessly.
Quickly, Ino faced her friend. “None of us were disappointed in you. We were all worried because you weren’t yourself anymore, and we could see how upset that made you.”
“Then why are you the only one who’s said anything? Why are you the only one out here?” Y/N began to feel the hopelessness grow in her chest like an infection.
Somewhere in the past week, she had rationalized that she had lost her friends because she couldn’t be there the same way as she could three years ago.
“I’m the only one out here because I asked everyone if I could be the first to help you remember. After this, Sakura and Naruto got their own thing planned for you.”
“What do you mean?” Y/N questioned, utterly confused by that statement.
“Well…” Ino began then recounted what happened only a few hours ago.
It was the middle of the afternoon when Sakura, Ino, and Naruto strolled down the street. Originally, Sakura and Ino were walking together but then Naruto saw them and caught up to them to talk as well.
There was some simple chatter going on between them when Naruto began to complain. “Don’t you guys think it’s weird that Y/N isn’t acting like herself anymore?”
Sakura and Ino stopped in their tracks, standing beside each other as Naruto took a few steps ahead before stopping himself, arms coming down to his sides after being held up in a casual posture.
“It’s not weird.” Ino answered somberly.
Sakura frowned. “It isn’t unusual for people to change when they’ve been alone on a mission for that long, especially if it was high priority.”
Naruto gritted his teeth. “I know, but it’s still weird to me. She used to be so happy back then, it was never boring when she was around, she had so much energy and now it’s like that person is gone. Like someone is impersonating her.”
“She’s not gone.” Ino was quick to add. “I can still see the cheerful girl we used to know, I think she’s just got lost along the way.”
Sakura nodded. “I think you’re right.”
There was a brief inter pause when Ino gasped, startling both Sakura and Naruto. “I have an idea!”
The other two ninja waited patiently for Ino to tell them what her idea was.
“We’ve been trying to fill her in on all that she’s missed the past three years right? Well if we instead we show her things of our past together, from when we were kids?”
Sakura’s eyes lit up. “Like when we played in the river together?”
“Or when we read comic books and played games together?!” Naurot chided, his voice grew louder than it was seconds ago.
Ino snapped her fingers and grinned. “Exactly! If we re-experience places we went, things we liked to do then maybe we could remind her of who she is.”
“It’s worth a shot at least.” Sakura smiled, looking between Ino and Naruto.
Naruto threw his fist up in the air. “Are you kidding me? That idea is awesome!”
“Alright, then from now on, each of us will try to remind Y/N of our precious memories together. Ready?” Ino closed her hand, and stuck a fist out to her friends.
Sakura and Naruto both bumped Ino’s fist, earning an excited cheer from all three at the same time.
“You see? That’s all we want, is for you to remember not who you used to be but who you are.” Ino explained, leaning over to a bundle of gladiolus flowers and extending them toward Y/N.
Her violet gaze could see the beginnings of tears gathering in Y/N’s eyes. “Like these gladiolus, maybe we could begin to heal you. If that’s okay?”
They fell, the tears that had been clouding her vision rolled down her cheeks, leaving a warm sensation in their wake.
For the first time in a long time, Y/N let out a relieved sob, taking the bundle of flowers from Ino’s grasp. Her head dipped down to stare at the colorful bouquet, watching her tears fall onto the petals and pool there.
The shame and guilt that hung off her injured back, finally disappeared, giving her the chance to breathe again, to actually breathe. Each inhale of air felt cold going down her throat but left her refreshed.
It was overwhelming.
Ino gave her space, letting her friend cry, to push out everything that she’d kept buried under a lock and key.
It wasn’t until Y/N had pulled her head back up and extended her arms out, that she hugged Y/N tightly to her and she reciprocated. Ino could feel her own tears begin to build.
Y/N cried a little while longer, then allowed herself to speak through the sobs. “Thank you; for not giving up on me.”
Ino pulled back, hands then resting softly on Y/N’s shoulders again. “That’s what friends are for.”
That caused Y/N to let out a tearful laugh and Ino mimicked that.
It was good to be home.

|Halloween! HCs | - Konoha Boys Edition
Since I couldn't finish the Kankuro piece (I severely underestimated the amount of time I would have today)... I figured I would write some headcanons about the holiday!
[]Neji Hyuga []Sai []Shino Aburame []Choji Akimichi [] x GN! (You) Reader
Prompt: You ask him to enter a couples costume contest with you.
(Alternates from Modern AU to Naruto Universe)
A/N: I was going to do something a lot more complex and long for this, but I really loved the plots so I will just save them for next year and write full length pieces.
Neji Hyuga:
You want HIM to enter a contest with you? Absolutely not.
Unless you really, really, really want him too... Maybe he'll make an exception. You never really know with this guy.
Of course he envisions something with some level of class, possibly inspired by European fashion in the 1700s or something.
But when you suggest your own idea... a feeling of regret already washes over him.
Two peas in a pod? Wearing full, head to toe green... He just can't.
"Apologies, Y/n... I just doubt that even we could pull it off." Truth be told, when you made him try the outfit, he really did want to pull it off. In the literal sense.
"Hyuga's should display class, Y/n. Really, I must insist we refrain from participating in this event. Unless... you want to get a different partner, that is." He smirked, knowing full well that you would never. He is your husband, after all.
You realize it really might be for the best, and why wear costumes when you could just sit at home and watch movies? A place where the world wouldn't be watching and he could be himself.
Sai:
If it's something that you want to do, he's immediately in. No matter how stupid he looks in the costume.
Actually he's rather a fashion critique himself, and had many interesting comments to give to the other couples. "A fisherman and his catch of the day? Do you want to brutally murder her for profit? Nonsensical."
"You don't want to win first place?" He kind of goes overboard, almost forgetting about you with his preparations. "So I was thinking... we should do a dance. Something that symbolizes a bee flying around a flower and collecting its nectar?" You two might have to enroll in an interpretive dance class afterwards.
After being near you for so long, it was easy to tell if you were bothered by anything. "Y/n... you seem distant. Is there something wrong?" He asked, though usually quite emotionless in public, around others.
"I just thought this would be more of a fun activity for us... not a huge competition." He seemed to get the hint.
In the end you both enjoy it, regardless of if you win or lose.
Choji Akimichi:
When you brought it up over dinner one night, it seemed you both saw the same poster hanging up at Ichiraku. He was going to ask you as well.
His love of potato chips has never faded since he was a child, so it wasn't much of a surprise when he brought them up as a costume idea. And asked if you could pick some up from the store for 'research purposes'.
It turned out to be quite a cute costume, and with Choji's pure passion being shown for the design, you obviously won. Whether said passion was for you or for the chips, no one will really know. "I mean... why can't it be both?".
"I really didn't think we would win against Kiba and Akamaru... It must've been pretty good luck." He smiled greatly, looking at the trophy in your hand. "They were disqualified! Akamaru wasn't even wearing a costume." You frowned at him. "Well everyone loves dogs!" He chuckled, walking into the kitchen.
It was somewhat refreshing to see a new trophy after so many from food eating competitions. "It really is good to mix it up a little..." You muttered, setting it down on the mantle.
Shino Aburame:
"It's a contest?" He asked, shifting his gaze from the flyer to you. "Yes! Isn't it wonderful? All the other couples are going..." You added, trying to be convincing, though to no avail. "And... it will be a great way to spread the word about insect awareness, being filmed and shown on television." He breathed in loudly, contemplating his predicament. "Fine... for the insects."
The next week was spent painting the large shells that would go on your backs. He made a dark, monochromatic one, made to look like his own.
"Too bad we lost." He laughed, surprising you. Your husband never laughed. "Are you feeling alright, Shino?" You asked, resting your hand on his forehead to feel his temperature. "It was... more fun than I was expecting. It was nice to spend some time with you." You looked away with a slight blush covering your face. "I don't say this nearly enough, but I love you Y/n." You both smiled at the sentiment.
Little did he know, that little conversation was also broadcast live on TV. "I didn't know Shino had such a soft side..." Hinata mumbled, a mix of confusion and fear coating her face as she sat on the couch. She could almost hear the loud bursts of laughter that came from Kiba blocks away.

Itachi Uchiha x F!Reader -> Makeup Sex
event masterlist
itachi uchiha of the leaf. a name so praiseworthy and intimidating that you never get used to his wife's stature. oh, also, the hokage of konoha. what makes things worse, is his hectic schedule and his apparent business.
he had forgotten your anniversary this time, you didn't remind him the entire time when you ate breakfast with him, even though Itachi could tell you were behaving differently. your responses were cut short and he could feel the familiar pang of rage and sadness your voice held which he couldn't quite put a finger on. “is something the matter? my dear.” he asked, biting his lip when you shook your head no. something’s definitely the matter.
it clicked him mid lunch, oh no— his braincells all rioting against him. “how foolish of me.” he hums. disappointed at himself and facepalms. the very first thing that came into itachi’s mind was letting everything go last moment, give it in the hands of his advisor. then, the next thing was your favorite peonies. itachi himself fetched it from the yamanaka store, while ino tried to tease him about it… there was no point because itachi was guilt laced. the hokage attire attracted attention but itachi couldn’t care less at this point.
a knock to your door broke you from your haze, you got up, sighing and walking towards it. “you?” you blinked, watching a very flustered itachi get inside, hug you and then lean in, kissing you passionately. “mm, i love you, wishing you a very happy anniversary sweetheart. apologies, sincere apologies that it slipped my mind.” before you could open your mouth to say anything, itachi pecked your lips over and over and over. “please forgive me.” he kneeled on, looking up at you with doe eyes. “i know i am not the best husband angel, but please forgive me.” the sincere apologies that erupted from him made you giggle. “alright, i forgive you itachi.” you couldn’t stay mad at him for long after all.
“let me make it up to you.” a low grunt escaped him as he leaned closer, fingers intertwined around your pretty little throat, slender, perfect fingers pressing onto the sides & observant eyes eating at every tender gasp while you were pinned against the wall. itachi’s curious lips found their way to your sweet spot, oh how perfectly you moan for him & reward him. such a good little angel.
uchihas love hard, uchihas are territorial & uchihas are one, heartthrob of a kind. when itachi nibbled onto your sensitive neck, breaking the skin & marking you with purple hickeys, your fingers languidly pulled off the rubber band of his loose ponytail. “you smell mesmerising, i wonder how far gone i’ll be once i see you bare.” itachi mused, it took him a lot of time to be this open with you. sharing his lewd thoughts and feelings with the adoring siren glare.
“go on,” you leaned in, taking off his hokage robe first. itachi was impatient, moreso than you. the sound of fabric being torn apart echoed into your ears as he ripped off your clothing, picking you up against the counter that was just near to the entrance, neatly decorated with antiques you and itachi shopped for yourselves whenever you got time. that’s what you love about the silly little place you call home.
“what’s to stop me from not ravishing you here and now, angel?” itachi smirked, leaning in and letting you feel the build up of his intense emotions probing at your heat. fuck you wanted him bad.
“want you right now.” you pouted, pulling him close to feel more of his semi against you, “want you so bad.” you didn’t waste anytime bratting up, or pretending to be hard to get.
“of course sweetheart. i will give it to you. you’re my one and only after all.” itachi flicked your forehead with an amicable smile, spreading your cunt lips and thrusting into you, careful but harsh. the position impacting your g-spot instantly as a choked whimper erupted from the depths of your throat, intertwined with his needy groan. “agh- you hug me so tight.” he mused, not letting you have a lot of time to get used to him & thrusting into you. one of his palms placed beside your head, leaned against the wall.
“you are mine, everything about you is mine. every fibre of your being is mine.” itachi growled carnally almost, leaning in and eating your moans apart with fervent kisses. it wasn’t before you felt the familiar twitch inside your needy pussy. “shit, m’ close..” you whined out, clamping hard around his girth.
“happy anniversary angel, go on. show me your love.”

hey!! do u think u could write for sasuke, shikamaru, kiba, lee, neji, gaara, and/or sai with a clingy reader who gets jealous easily? love language is acts of service and quality time but she clings onto them a lot too. (feel free to change up the characters/add or omit anyone!! thank you!!)
Naruto Characters with a Clingy/Jealous S/O
Characters: Sasuke, Shikamaru, Kiba, Shino, Rock Lee, Neji, Sai, Gaara, and Kankuro
I wanna include Kankuro somewhere so don’t mind me squeezing him in frfr. Also ofc, I gotta add Shino.
Sasuke Uchiha
He’s acting cool. He’s acting real cool. Dark and mysterious.
You’re throwing that off, but if you’ve got him wrapped around your finger, he can’t seem to bring himself to shake you off.
You’re like throwing off the dark and mysterious with your energy, so he’s gonna act indifferent, maybe even irritated.
Best believe that he clings onto you right back at home. I don’t take criticism on this take.
If you get jealous easy… good luck.
Now he’s not feeding in to these other girls minds that he could somehow care to look their way, but these girls STILL stare at him with heart eyes.
Cue him just walking away from them, telling you to come on already.
He’s not entertaining their bullshit, so you two can go where they will leave you both alone :)!
Shikamaru Nara
Complains, complains, complains again.
“What a drag” “you’re so troublesome”
He’s blushing though, don’t let him lie. It’s obvious.
He secretly finds comfort in your constant clinging. And the way you like to spend time with him. And be around him constantly. You must really like him. He’s secretly flattered.
He just can’t open up so he’s never gonna tell you that.
He’s not really the type that women are just falling at his feet, so you won’t have to worry about being jealous so much.
If a girl on a mission does get a little too close though, he WILL distance himself from her. Don’t worry.
He’ll complain if you step in for him to help get the girl away, but he’ll be grateful for the help (silently, bc out loud he’s saying he can handle it himself)
Kiba Inuzuka
I don’t know why people think Kiba is some player or fuck boy. So I want to go ahead and clarify, I don’t think he would be. I think he’s actually got nervous teen boy crushing energy, no matter his age.
He’s clinging to you too. Lmfao.
Literally you two are attached at the hip, arm, shoulder, whatever. Attached.
Akamaru is always with you two though, but who doesn’t love Akamaru?!
He gets jealous too.
You two are probably unbearable bc listen, hope for everybody’s sake you aren’t as jealous as he is.
If a man looks in your direction, he will whine for the rest of the night.
That being said, he is not accusing you of entertaining or doing anything, he’s just complaining about the guys audacity to even look in your direction.
Shino Aburame
DO NOT LET THIS MAN LIE TO YOU. He gets jealous.
Like petty kinda jealous. He’s a petty mf.
So you are not alone if you get jealous.
He’s also physically clingy behind closed doors, but ONLY behind closed doors.
He asks that you not hang off him like a koala in front of everybody, but he’ll perhaps hold your hand.
He’s clingy in a less physical way. He needs you to stay close to him most of the time, just be there. So if you like quality time, this the guy for you.
Back to jealously, this is the only reason I could ever foresee him being even a little toxic. He trusts you fully, but give a little bit too much attention to somebody and he’ll convince himself he’s like not your first choice and you forgot him like everybody else did.
So he’s more jealous than you, without a doubt in my mind.
Honestly, he takes time and effort to convince to settle down and get out of his own head.
Neji Hyuga
Not a PDA person. I think he might be willing to like hold hands. Accept a kiss on the cheek or something. But really, he wouldn’t be all TOO found of being literally clinged to.
However, he does like to have you around. So if you are just the clingy type in regards to being around them all the time, he’s okay with that.
He wants to be around you too.
He’s not the jealous type himself, and he probably won’t really notice that you’re jealous.
I don’t think he’d appreciate somebody other than you being all over him though, so you don’t have to worry much. He’ll tell a person straight up, no sugarcoating, to get away from him.
If you complain about somebody’s actions later, he’ll realize you were jealous. He’ll probably ask why if he told them off anyways. After a conversation, he’ll probably just reassure you that he will continue to tell people off.
Nobody touches him but you.
Rock Lee
HES SO MFING CLINGY
PHYSICALLY AND JUST IN GENERAL.
He talks about you all the time to everybody he can. He’s constantly telling people that you’re his partner. Bragging about you.
And since you’re clingy and he’s clingy, you’re probably right there by his side as he does this.
If for some reason, he doesn’t get a chance or remember to introduce you in some flamboyant, glamorous, extra way, and somebody tries to make a pass at him, he won’t notice they’re flirting unless it’s OBVIOUS.
So cue your jealously.
He would be the type to literally push somebody away and say some shit like “I’m flattered, but I have a gorgeous, amazing partner already.”
Sai Yamanaka
(I call him Sai Yamanaka bc it creates a bigger line for the name btw, he’s not married in this case)
He does not mind you constantly clinging to him or following him around. Not in the slightest.
That is because he likes you, so he wants to be around the person he likes, after all. (Sai, yall are dating. That’s obvious, you don’t have to say it)
He probably follows you around a lot because he thinks he’s supposed to. And also, he finds that he likes to be around you.
He might do something a book told him to, get too close to another person, paying no mind to any like reason it could be wrong. He didn’t mean it that way.
And since we’ve established you’re the jealous type, you’d have to explain to Sai that he can’t just get too close to other people like that.
Gaara of the Sand
He doesn’t mind the clinging, but he doesn’t have the time for it :/
When you can cling to him or follow him around without interfering with his focus and work, he’s perfectly okay with it.
And he’ll find himself wishing that when he’s busy, he wasn’t so you could be with him.
A lot of the girls in the village have a crush on him now that he’s kazekage, so you’re bound to be pretty jealous.
But Gaara doesn’t let these girls near him. He’s polite with them, but he’s not entertaining anything at ALL.
You don’t have to worry with him. He’s as loyal as can be.
At home, he’s clinging to you too. He’s touch starved.
And he loves to spend his free time with you.
Kankuro of the Sand
Cling to him in public like a koala. He’s not complaining. He’s BRAGGING.
PLEASE.
He’s the type to tease you about it, but if you break away from him because of it he’ll complain bc WHERE ARE YOU GOINGGG?
He would purposely make you jealous. Within reason. He will not disrespect your relationship to do so. But if he knows something simple could make you jealous, like giving too much attention to a stuffed animal, he will do it on purpose
“You wish this was you, huh?”
He’d like it if you wanted to just come sit in his workshop with him while he works on puppets. He’ll talk when he’s not like SUPER focused.

Naruto boys reacting to the silent treatment
A/n: im back from the dead again, my motivation has been completely nonexistent so I’m trying to get back into the swing of things so here’s some hcs!
Warnings/content: general pettiness, nothing :)
Characters: Sasuke, Sai, Neji
Tumblr media
Sasuke
At first sasuke was confused by how you were treating him, what was this about? Whenever he tried to speak to you, you turned away, whenever he tried to touch you and recoiled, he wasn't sure what he did but he didn't like how petty you were for no discernible reason.
He tried to confront you about this but he only got silence, he'd never admit it but he was worried, you were the only family he had left and was unsure how to fix whatever happened because you won't communicate with him.
Eventually a few hours later you come up to him, and just sit beside him. "So are you done ignoring me?" he said, you nodded and laid your head on his shoulder. "Doesn't feel too good does it?" you sked, he suddenly realized you were ignoring him because he's done the same to you before without realization; you were just getting your petty revenge
Tumblr media
Sai
Because of growing up in root he had little to no perceptions of petty things that people in relationships sometimes partake in, so when you started ignoring him he was moreover confused as to why, what did he do? Everytime he asked you something, you'd just stay silent.
He didn't try to confront you about this because he thought it was normal, and because of his silence you thought he just didn't care adding to the problem already at hand. So you started ignoring him even harder and even tried to make him jealous by flirting with other guys, all that you really need to do to fix this is to communicate.
When someone finally points out the obvious tension between you two, Sai finally asks why you've been ignoring at says "it makes me feel not good when you don't talk to me, i'm unsure what i did but let's make it right, okay?" it became obvious to you that he truly didn't know what he did but he wanted to make it right.
Tumblr media
Neji
He had no relationship experience but he knew he didn't like being ignored and was very upfront and honest about it despite your silence, he didn't want to intrude on your space but he did want to know what he did wrong, but that was going to be tough especially when you refuse to speak or even be in the same room as him.
He tried to confront you multiple times to just be met with silence, you didn't even acknowledge his existence so he knew you were serious. Eventually he stopped because he realized that it wasn't getting anywhere and he'd just have to wait out, but he still wanted you to know he cared about you so he'd leave little notes for you to find.
When he was able to finally get you to talk, and you admitted why you were ignoring him, whether it be jealousy, or something else, all you really needed to do was to communicate and your problem was fixed. Neji just wanted things to be right with you, he adores you and wants you to know.
Tumblr media
I cant describe how much I hate this but it’s better than nothing but feels very OOC, but I hope you enjoyed it anyway. Please be patient, I’ll post more quality stuff later when I have motivation. Please go read one of my actually good hcs. Love u <3

Who's gonna break my heart - Daishou Suguru x Reader
Friends to Strangers to Lovers - Title inspired by my current dopamine song "Dangerously Anxious" by MUNN
Words: over 8k so pace yourself
Tumblr media
- 18/17
You know something’s up when Suguru enters the gym with a girl. He’s already late, but the girl’s not wearing any gym clothes. So not a new manager.
She’s one year above you and you’ve seen her around. Yamanaka Mika or something. She’s cute and bile rises up your throat at that thought. No.
“Guys,” Suguru’s grin is genuine, playful, a little proud even, “I want you to meet someone. This is Mika, my girlfriend.”
Sō immediately stands guard beside you. He’s the libero and the second-closest friend you have on this team. Well, he might get bumped up as of today.
“Mika, this is the team.” He introduces them by name and the first-years blush under his praise. The third-years are not impressed, hitting him back with sly remarks that have Suguru blush instead.
Finally, he ends with you.
“And this is my best friend from childhood. I told you about her,” he introduces you and you have to fight everything in you not to snarl at him. Instead, you offer Mika your hand to shake, boiling inside.
She stays around to watch. You keep your distance.
When the first break runs around and you start handing out water bottles she slinks up beside you, asking for Suguru’s. You’re more than glad you don’t have to give it to him, couldn’t stand the risk of touching him right now.
You manage not to talk to him about anything other than volleyball until training ends.
He leaves quickly, aiming to walk Mika home. You stay behind.
“You okay?” Sō asks quietly as you gather your things.
“Mhm,” you nod, “Just peachy. Thanks for asking.”
“I don’t like her,” he promises and you snort. “You don’t have to. If he wants to get himself a girlfriend, that has nothing to do with me. She might be nice, you know. It’s not her fault he’s the way he is.”
Sō nods, but he doesn’t seem convinced. He asks if you want to walk home together but you decline. The quiet will do you good.
- 5/4
“Well, you stink,” Daishou declares with an air of finality. He’s small for a five year old, you’re almost the same height.
You don’t blink. He starts to grow anxious, his legs twiddling as if he has to pee.
“Why aren’t you crying?” He asks, clearly annoyed you don’t react like anyone else he’s met before.
“I was waiting if you’d come up with something better,” you say, “But I should have known you don’t have any good ideas.”
“Hey!” He yelps, “That’s not fair! That was a good insult!”
You snort and his lip starts to quiver.
“No way,” someone whispers behind you, “Is Daishou going to cry? What a whimp.”
“I’m not a whimp!” Daishou declares, eyes already reddening. “Take that back.”
You turn your best lazy stare at the person who had muttered that insult. In less than a second he backs away. You might not be a pretty little girl like your mother wanted, but you know how to keep the boys at bay.
“Come,” you take Daishou’s hand and pull him toward the far edge of the playground, “I’m gonna teach you some cool insults.”
- 18/17
“What do you want?” You ask instead of a greeting. Suguru snorts into the phone.
“Wow, what hellhole did you crawl out today?”
“It’s called a period, thank you very much.” That’s a lie. But he doesn’t like that topic, so it’s always safe.
“Whatever,” he grunts, “I just wanted to ask what you think about Mika.”
“I’m not into her if that’s what you’re asking.”
He gasps before laughing. “That’s not what I meant and you know it.”
“How did that even happen?” You ask, hoping against hope that he doesn’t hear the despair lacing your voice. He needs to believe you don’t care. “Did you pay her to do it?”
“Excuse me?!” Suguru’s affronted. “I don’t have to pay girls- You know I could-” He sighs before starting anew. “She asked me out. Can you believe it? I never had a cute girl like me before.”
That stings. But, you try to comfort yourself, he doesn’t know you like him. So maybe you’re still a cute girl in his head. Just not one he’s interested in.
“Miracles happen every day,” you tell him, working around the clog in your throat, “But I need to get going, okay? I still have homework to do.”
“Oh, okay, sure. I’ll see you in the morning. We can walk to school.”
“Yeah, okay.” You hope he forgets.
He doesn’t.
.
Suguru’s always been touchy. He was the kid who sat on his mother's lap until she pushed him off and though he made you swear on your life that it didn’t happen, he used to be the one grabbing your hand on the way home from kindergarten.
And it used to be your thing.
How he pulls on your arm when he’s excited or slings his arm around your shoulders, shaking you. How he presses his face against yours, eye against eye, to make sure you really got his joke.
But you can’t help but feel sick now, at the thought of it. Because it doesn’t mean what you thought it meant. And he’s probably going to do it with Mika now.
“Hey,” he pulls on your backpack as a greeting, dragging ice-cold fingertips along your neck. You shiver and he shows a wicked grin. “Still cranky?”
“Was I ever?” You snap back and he cocks his head, tongue slipping out as he musters you. It’s adorable and you hate yourself for thinking so.
“You wanna get chocolate milkshakes after school?”
“I’m fine,” you point out. “And you’re going to walk Mika home, right?”
“Are you jealous?” He asks and your heart stops for a painful moment until he laughs. “Come on, we’ve been best friends forever. I’m sure she’d like some Milkshakes too.”
And it’s like that, for days, and weeks on end.
Everything you used to do together is now something you have to share with Mika.
Until she breaks up with him.
- 9/8
“Can we play family?” You ask, a bit more confident in the coziness of your own bedroom. Your parents make more money than Suguru’s, you can tell. It’s no surprise he likes hanging out at your place more. You prefer it the other way, like the warmth of their kitchen and the noise, always someone around to talk. You like his older sister who teases him relentlessly and his mother who always calls you cute.
But you’ve got better toys so you’re hanging out at your place. And since it’s your place, you call the shots.
“Again?” He asks, but already picks up the Squishmallow you usually use as a kid. You own two and the other one’s sitting next to your bedroom door, playing dog.
“Today,” you declare your newest idea proudly, “I’m going to make a lot of money. I work in finance, like my dad.”
Suguru nods, gently nursing the Squishmallow kid in his arms. “Should I stay home with the kid then?”
“Yeah,” you nod, “You could make some dinner for when I come home. Do you want to have a Hobby, like Mom?”
“Oh yeah,” he grins, “I’m going to be a famous volleyball player on the side. They only have to train and win games, so I have more then enough time to care for our kid and the dog. Do we have a daughter or a son?”
“I don’t know. What do you want?”
“I want a daughter,” he lifts her up, squinting as if he can see a real kid in the soft pink plush. “And she looks like you.”
- 18/17
It’s Sō who tells you. He happened to walk past them on the way to training, couldn’t help but overhear.
“You’re such a bore, all you ever do is focus on club activities,” Sō repeats before you can stop him.
He opens his mouth to ask, but the gym doors open. Suguru looks positively mad.
“What are you doing?” He asks Sō, voice sharp. “This is supposed to be training. Start running!” He turns to you but you don’t even let him open his mouth.
“Suguru,” your voice is cold, clear and cuts through him like always. “Can I talk to you outside for a second?”
He huffs. “What if I don’t want to?”
“Then I’ll have to ask Coach to tell you to talk to me. You want that?”
“No,” he snarls, turning back to where he came from. “Hurry up, I want to train.”
“Warn the others,” you whisper in Sō’s direction and follow Suguru outside.
There’s a group of trees not far from the Gym that’s pretty much secluded.
Suguru swings as if to punch one of the trees but you’re faster, grabbing his elbow and pulling back.
“We still need your hands,” you huff, “Keep it together.”
“I don’t want-”
“I know,” you pull him in, hug him as tight as he allows. “I know.”
You don’t know how long you’re standing like this, Suguru trembling like a leaf. He’s always been a crybaby, even if he’s a little ashamed to admit it.
“Want me to egg her house?” You ask, wishing that just once he’d hug you back.
“No, that’s stupid.”
“I could put eggs into her shoes,” you point out. “Like I did with that girl that bullied you in Junior High.”
He snorts wetly. “That was amazing, but no, I don’t… I just wanted her to like me.” His face is pressed against your shoulder now and you can feel his mouth move against the fabric of your shirt when he talks.
“Maybe I should quit Volleyball.”
“Because some girl told you it was boring? Suguru, you’re better than that.”
“Mika’s not just some girl.”
You swallow thickly, unable to snap back for the first time since you can remember.
If only he’d say such things about you too.
“Well,” You manage after a while, “You’ll just have to win Nationals then. Show her what you’re made of.”
“Yeah,” he nods and pulls back, your sign to let go. “You’re right.”
He wipes his eyes and tries a shaky smile.
“Let’s beat Nekoma to a pulp.”
You roll your eyes. “You and that team. But if it makes you happy, we will.”
- 13/12
“Have you kissed somebody yet?” Suguru asks.
It’s a nice day out and you’re using your huge garden for Volleyball practice.
You don’t like playing it that much, but since Suguru doesn’t have that many male friends to play with, you don’t mind helping him out.
“No, you?”
“No.”
You wait, knowing he’ll eventually explain himself.
“Haizaki said it’s lame if you haven’t kissed anyone yet,” Suguru explains and leaps into the air to spike a ball.
You receive it, albeit a bit clumsily, and the ball tapers off into the shrubbery to your left.
“I told him that I kissed you,” he says instead of moving, and since you don’t really like Volleyball all that much you stay where you are. You have to move enough as it is already.
“Oh?”
“Yeah,” Suguru’s glaring at the shrubbery now. “Haizaki didn’t believe me at first. I showed him that picture from the festival last year. Now he thinks you’re too cute to be kissing me.”
You snort and drop to the floor, too lazy to keep standing. “Did you tell him how I bit your chin when you tried to put your arm around my shoulder for that picture.”
“No,” now he’s the one snorting. “But I should have.”
“Mhm.”
“Do you wanna kiss?”
You knew that question would come. Still, you don’t really have an answer to it.
You put your head on your knees and pear up at him, blinking through your eyelashes until he blurs into a shapeless blob.
You don’t really care about kissing. Or boys. There’s no one in your life that’s as close to you as Suguru is. You’re friendly with your classmates, but most of what they want to talk about is boring.
Maybe you don’t want to kiss. Or think about it. But Suguru wants it. So you can at least try, right?
“Fine,” you stretch out your hands, ask him to pull you up. As soon as you’re standing you press your lips to his.
It’s awkward, and not at all nice. His mouth is slightly open, a little wet with saliva or maybe sweat and his nose bumps almost painfully into yours.
Suguru squeaks as you move away, grabbing your hands to pull you back in. This time your teeth knock against each other and it hurts even more.
“Maybe,” you say, your face pressed against his shoulder when he’s still not letting you go, “Haizaki also never kissed a girl. Maybe it’s totally overrated and disgusting but he just thought you’d believe him.”
“You think?” Suguru asks, clearly downfallen by this failure. He always just wants to be cool.
“Yeah, you just need to be really confident when you tell him that you’re not interested in that. You know? Like, tell the class that Haizaki’s so bad in school because all he thinks about are girls. If you sound like you mean it, everyone will gang up on Haizaki. I do that too and it works all the time.”
His arms, clammy with sweat, loosen their hold on you. His adams apple is bobbing up and down as he steps back.
“Yeah, you’re probably right,” he says, voice still a little unsure, “Can we… can we play some more volleyball?”
“If we must,” you groan and his smile flickers back to life, this mischievous teasing thing you’ve grown fond of.
He pinches your side and moves toward the shrubbery.
“Fifty receives or you don’t get any ice-cream.”
“This is my house, you know!”
- 18/17
“Can I talk to you for a second?”
Sō’s eyebrows shoot up but you remain calm.
“Of course,” you say, following Mika out of your classroom and down the hallway into an empty classroom. You think this one’s reserved for Music Club.
“I wanted to ask,” she looks nervously to the side before continuing, “if you and Suguru… Are you… dating?”
You allow Silence to settle before you answer. The question hurts you just as much as it might hurt her to ask and if you can make her suffer a little longer, you will.
“No.”
“Oh,” she looks like she expected a different answer, as if she’s not sure where to go from here.
“Is there anything else?”
“Yes!” She surges forward, boxing you in. “I… I want to apologize.”
“For what?”
“For breaking up.”
“You’re talking to the wrong person then.”
She huffs, crossing her arms now. “Could you be any less helpful?”
“What do you want me to do?” You snap, losing the small of patience you had.
She slinks back, shrinking into herself. “I just… I kinda think it was a stupid decision. But I don’t know. Do you think Suguru liked me? Like, really liked me? You’re his best friend.”
“I don’t know,” you offer helpfully, “I’ve never been in a relationship. I don’t know what really liking someone means.”
And you’re being honest this time, even if she might not believe you. You only know that Suguru doesn’t really like you like that.
“Kaya… my friend… she said that maybe you’re into him and that’s why we broke up.”
You straighten, hands balled to fists.
“You broke up with him,” you hiss, “Don’t you dare pin this on him.”
“I know!” Mika howls, clearly exasperated now. “I know! I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing. That’s why I’m asking you for advice!”
You stiffen, turn toward the window. You can think better when you’re not looking at her, when you can pretend she’s not looking at you.
If someone asks you about this, if someone ever dares to question it, you will deny it with everything you’ve got, but you can’t… you just can’t-
“Just come to our next game,” you tell her, voice tired. “We’re playing against Nekoma for the Qualifiers. He hates that team. You can decide there how you want to go on.” You turn and move for the door. But something just needs to be said, even if you don’t want to speak it into existence.
“And he’s not into me. Suguru, I mean. We’re friends. I just don’t have that many and I’m not used to sharing, that’s all.”
You leave her standing there, don’t turn back to look.
Instead, you go straight to the school nurse, wait until she calls your mum to come and pick you up.
You feel sick to your stomach and even though the Congee she cooks does little to soothe that kind of hurt, you don’t argue against it.
.
Mika doesn’t ask to speak to you again.
But she’s at your match against Nekoma, you can spot her in the crowd. When she approaches the team after your loss you’re glad that the team moves away in unison.
You don’t want to be there when it happens.
“Maybe you should date someone too,” Sō offers. He’s remarkably calm about their loss. “Kuguri and you are quite similar. You could get along.”
“What?” Kuguri turns to look at you, “I heard my name.”
“You have ears,” you praise him, “Good job.”
He scowls and turns away again.
You close your eyes, lean your back against the wall.
“I think I’m going to focus on school work,” you admit, “Leave the Club.”
Takachiho gasps. “Leave the Club? You?”
“What?” You scowl, “Like you care. You’re leaving this year anyway.”
“Yeah, but the Club needs you!” Seguro sidles up to you, “You’re our Manager.”
“Like you can’t fill your water bottles without me,” you snarl.
“I bet,” Numai mutters darkly, rubbing his chin, “If you’d get your ass on it, you could turn this team around.”
“Is that a dare?” You ask, stepping up to him. “Do you really think you can dare me to do better?”
“Absolutely! I bet you could get rid of these cheap tactics and get us to Nationals without Suguru interfering.”
Hiroo snorts. “You do know, Numai, that our dear Manager is worse than our Captain when it comes to trashtalking, right?”
Your smile grows as Numai’s flickers and fades.
“But,” he starts just as someone clears his throat behind you.
“Something going on?” Suguru asks.
Looking at him feels like a punch to the throat. You can tell that he’s happy without him having to say it. Mika’s nowhere to be seen but it still feels as if she’s wrapped around him.
The team lunges forward.
If anyone notices that you’re not taking part in their playful attack, they don’t address it.
You sneak away undisturbed.
.
Seguro’s named Captain a few days later.
Mika must have talked to Suguru because he’s not dragging you with them anymore. And while you had thought that there could be nothing worse than being the third wheel on one of their dates, being forgotten is so so so much worse.
School is boring you. Training is torture. You need something to occupy your mind.
- 18/17
“All alone?” Someone settles heavily on the chair next to you.
You don’t have to look up. You’d know that honeysmoothed voice anywhere.
“Not interested, roosterhead.”
Kuroo chuckles softly. “Don’t bite, Snakelet. I just want to make some friendly conversation.”
“Sure, sure. So you’re not here to scope out the competition?” You don’t take your eyes off the game.
Below your seats the game is reaching it’s Finale.
“Which one do you want?” Kuroo asks, mouth so close to your ear his breathe washes over your face. You don’t flinch.
“If I had to guess you want the Captain. He’s got an amazing defense. And with your stupid First-Year you’ll need some good defense.”
“Now now, don’t insult Lev like that.” Kuroo stretches, yawns and rests his arm on your shoulder. “He’s even dumber than you make him out to be.”
You can’t help but laugh at that comment. At least he’s self-aware.
“Go on,” you nudge your elbow into his side, “Tell me who I’m picking.”
“You want both Outside Hitters. They are both tall, broad shouldered and have a lot of energy and drive, so you think that would balance out your lethargic teammates. But that’s a risky move. One of them moves like he’s chugged ten cans of Monster before the game and the other feels like this game is the beginning of his murder-spree.”
“I need someone with Stamina,” you agree, “If I can get both of them, I will. If I can get only one of them, I’ll take Mr. Murderspree.”
“Good.” Kuroo grins. “I don’t want our games to get boring.”
You roll your eyes. “They’re not our games, Roosterhead. You’re graduating.”
“Ah,” he pinches your chin. “But I’m still watching, you know. From the shadows.”
You snort. “Sure. If that gives you closure.” You get up. “You can stay here if you want, I need to get going. First one to get a student to sign on your team wins.”
“Loser pays the drinks,” he calls after you.
.
You’re not sure how it happened or when. You don’t even know what to call this.
Suguru is your best friend, so Kuroo can’t be it. Kuroo is Suguru’s enemy and you’re pretty sure you don’t feel the same way about him, so he can’t be that either.
You’d call him an annoying cousin you’re not related to if these conversations wouldn’t sound so much like flirting nowadays.
In some weird way you think he understands you, or at least how your brain works. He’s pointed out, often enough to remember, that you remind him of Kenma.
And you’d argue against it, but he’s never once insulted Suguru in front of you. Talking shit about Kenma feels like disrespecting that truce. Even if you feel a lot smarter than a guy who’s cosplaying a bowl of pudding.
.
“Congratulations,” Kuroo sets your coffee down in front of you before taking a seat, “Both Outside Hitters and the Setter, I’m impressed.”
“He’s more of a glorified Pinch Server, but thank you.” You drag your spoon through the foam in your cup, destroying the artwork the barista created. You’re not in the mood for little foam hearts today. “How’s your new Captain doing?”
“Terrible, but that’s to be expected.”
“Same.” You let your eyes wander through the café only to get caught on something outside. You know that jacket, that haircut, that smi-
“Everything okay?” Kuroo peers down at you.
“Dropped my earring,” you claim, patting the floor. Outside Suguru kisses Mika goodbye and turns with one last wave of his arm before jogging of.
You get back into your seat, ignore the amused twinkle in Kuroo’s eyes and dare to think that you’ve got out of this alive - until someone appears next to you.
“Oh, hi!” Mika blinks with a smile, “Suguru just left, what a surprise! I haven’t seen you in a while.”
“Likewise,” you press out.
“Hi, I’m Kuroo,” Kuroo offers her his hand, “You’re Daishou’s girlfriend, right?”
“Yeah,” her smile brightens, “I’m sorry, I don’t know you, are you from Nohebi?”
“No,” he shakes his head, but doesn’t disclose his own school. You don’t flatter yourself with thinking it’s because of your glaring. “Just visiting a friend.”
“Oh,” Mika rests a hand on her chest, “Sorry, I didn’t know- of course, I’ll leave you to it.” She all but flutters away. You want to leave.
Kuroo, however, leans over the table, grinning like the literal Chesire Cat.
“She thinks we’re dating.”
“I don’t care what she thinks,” you snarl.
“Oh?” His eyebrows lift to where you can’t see them. “Ohoh?”
“Not like that,” you groan, “Get your head out of the gutter.”
“What? I could date you,” he twirls his spoon between his fingers, “Don’t all girls want an older boyfriend?”
“I think it’s more about wanting a smarter boyfriend,” you point out, “So I doubt we’d fit that scheme.”
“You wound me,” he huffs playfully, “But if you ever want to make someone jealous you can call me up anytime.”
“Thanks, I already hate that idea.”
- 18/17
It’s a shame you cannot skip graduation.
It’s not even your own but you know Suguru would never let you live it down.
So you force yourself to smile in every picture, pretending you don’t see the second button of his blazer missing.
Ever since Kindergarten he’s been one year above you. Ever since Kindergarten, you went out for ice cream afterwards, you paying for his on his graduation and him paying for yours the next year.
This year he asks if he can bring Mika along. You pay for him, he pays for her and when it’s time for you to pick your own ice cream all you want to do is go home and sleep.
But you can’t, so you pick the first flavor you see, not wanting to ruin the taste of your favorite ice cream with this awful memory.
“This is a cute spot,” Mika announces when you’ve found a spot outside under an oak tree, “We should come here for a date. What do you think?” She addresses you all of a sudden, “We could do a double date.”
Suguru chokes on his ice cream.
“Double date?” He asks. “Is there something I don’t know?”
Mika’s eyes widen. “Oh, was it a secret?”
“No,” you grind through your teeth, “It’s not a secret because I don’t have a boyfriend. Or date anyone. I just met someone I know while I was scouting new players.”
“Who?” He asks, brows furrowed.
“He’s got dark hair,” Mika explains, “Kinda messy like Kuguri-”
“Kuroo?” Suguru bristles, eyes turning wide. “You went out with Kuroo?”
Something turns to ice inside you.
“Yes,” you say, “I went out with him. Who cares?”
“He’s-”
“The Ex-Captain of a team that didn’t win Nationals. Wow. How outstanding.”
“My arch-enemy!” Suguru thunders, “And you know that.”
“Please,” you huff, “He barely knows you exist.”
“Take that back!”
“No.”
“I didn’t think-” Mika starts but you shut her up with a glare.
“I don’t butt into your relationship,” you clarify, “So you don’t get to butt into mine.”
“You’re dating-?” Suguru gasps for air, “Kuroo?”
“Does it matter? No. I was here to celebrate your graduation not to discuss my lovelife.”
“If you’re dating Kuroo we can no longer be friends,” Suguru bites out and you nod, get up and throw your ice cream in the trash.
“Fine. If that’s how you want it, I’ll accept. Goodbye.”
You march away, don’t look back. You don’t want Suguru to see that your eyes start to water as the ice inside you slowly melts.
.
You: If your house gets egged this week, Suguru thinks we’re dating.
Roosterhead: Oh? Buy me Dinner first.
You: I’m not dating you.
Roosterhead: I’m heartbroken. You good though?
You: I will be after we demolish Nekoma.
Roosterhead: Looking forward to you trying.
- 19/18
Seguro and Yamamoto are shaking hands but all you care about are the glowing eyes of their setter who rest on you, unblinking.
You’ve lost this time, but you’re not giving up. It’s only a Training Match after all and as soon as you’ve figured out how to balance out your team, you’ll be fine.
Still, it sucks that you’ve lost to Kenma. Of all people.
“Hey,” Sō nudges you with his elbow, nodding toward the door. “We’ve got a visitor.”
He didn’t need to tell you. You spotted Suguru half an hour ago but decided to ignore him.
The last two months have been filled with somewhat strained communication, mostly held up by Mika who’s trying her best to mend a friendship you no longer believe in.
He’s chosen Mika over you. You’ll be able to live with that, someday.
“Hey,” someone else speaks up from your other side. You turn to Kenma, who’s looking the other way.
“Yeah?”
“Kuroo mentioned something… about you…”
“So?”
He huffs. “I think I have an idea you’d be interested in.”
You’ll never admit that you only agree to buy into Bouncing Ball Corp because Suguru is watching you, but in all honesty, you’d probably agree to selling fridges in the arctic if it buys you a few more minutes away from him.
It doesn’t matter in the end. He stays until everyone else has left, hands buried in his pockets, nodding at the players that know him, rolling his eyes at those who don’t.
“What’s going on?” You ask when you’ve run out of reasons to avoid him, the gym empty besides the two of you.
“Can’t I come see my best friend?”
“I don’t know, are they in the room with us?”
He huffs.
“I mean you.”
“Could have fooled me.”
You turn away, take a few steps just to put space where there used to be none.
Suguru calls out your name. There’s something in his voice, a softer, more vulnerable tone, that makes you turn around. His shoulders are down and he’s staring at the ground and you know, just by looking at him, that he lost.
You don’t know if it’s a game or a thing, a person or an idea, but there’s something to it, the fact that he comes to you for comfort, that soothes some of the hurt.
“What did you do now, you fool?” You ask and maybe there’s something in your voice too, because he takes a few steps and pulls you in, rests his head against your shoulder where no one can see if he cries or not.
“Coach kicked me off the starting Line-Up,” he admits, “I’m just a pinch server.”
“So?” You ask, “You were a Pinch Server when you started at Nohebi. Those things take time.”
“Yeah,” he croaks, “But I also failed my first exam.”
“Mhm,” you hum, “Math?”
“Yeah.”
“What else?”
He huffs. “Who says-”
“What else, Suguru?”
“I can’t get a job. Like, I’ve tried but the only shops that might take me are the fast food joints around College and the hours there are terrible. And I need to train.”
You sigh. He hasn’t changed at all.
“Have you talked to Mika about it?” You ask and you know your voice sounds a little condescending right now, but he deserves it, right?
“No.”
“Why not?”
“I don’t want her to know,” he huffs, tensing as you try to push him away. “Please?”
“I’m not your manager any longer,” you point out. “You’re old enough to get yourself out of the mess you got yourself into. I’m not here to-”
“Please,” he repeats, but there’s a different tone to it now, “This is not why I came, okay? I just… you always know- Ugh, you just understand me, okay? I need to talk to someone who understands. Please?”
“Fine,” you let your bag slip from your shoulder, “You carry my bag and I’ll listen.”
And it’s a tale as old as time, you think, as you walk next to him, almost knocking your hip into his from.
Suguru’s not stupid. He just gets too much in his head about how things should be like until he can no longer see the big picture. And as much as he enjoys dishing out, he cannot take a hit for the life of him.
“So?” You ask when you reach the cross roads that separate your houses, “Feeling better?”
“Yeah,” he nods, “I- I wanted to say… If you want to date Kuroo, that’s fine.”
You balk. “What?”
“Yeah,” he grimaces, “I mean, I don’t like him, but if you think he’s decent enough…”
“I’m not dating him.”
“Kenma then?”
“Just shut up, okay?” You snarl. “It doesn’t matter. I’m not- I don’t care- You know, let’s just say you won’t mind and forget about this, okay?”
“No,” he shakes his head, “I want to talk about this. You’re my best friend. I’m sorry I neglected you. You’re doing a good job with the team, better than I did when I was Captain last year. And Mika… she’s sorry too. This is my idea, coming here and talking to you, but I know she feels bad too. She’s just… I think she got a little excited at the idea of us going on double dates. But it wasn’t right putting it out like that.”
“It doesn’t matter,” you repeat, too stubborn to give in, “But I appreciate it. What are you going to do now?”
“Oh, study for math, keep looking for jobs,” he huffs, dragging his hands through his hair.
“I meant today,” you snort and he blushes awkwardly.
“Then say it like that, idiot. You wanna play some volleyball? I have the time.”
“No,” you shake your head, “But I could use some math practice.”
- 19/18
It’s weird, still.
Suguru makes an effort to come over once a week. It helps that you can give him pointers in his math studies, but it’s not the way it was before.
He’s too touchy for a guy with a girlfriend. And though you’ve got your heart on a tight leash you can tell it’s much too easy to get lost in this until something reminds you of the truth.
So you do what everyone would do in your situation.
You ask Kuguri out.
It goes about as well as one would expect.
Sure, you could ask Kuroo. You’re pretty sure he’d do it, but you don’t want to ruin a perfectly fine friendship - if you could call it that.
Soon matches and exams turn up back to back and all you see of Suguru are the short messages he sends whenever he remembers.
He doesn’t forget your graduation, but ice cream just doesn’t taste the same way it used to.
You wish you could have stopped this ritual when it was still fun.
- 20/19
If someone would ask you for the name of your best friend, you’re no longer sure what you’d answer.
There’s Suguru, who you rarely talk to, yet know better than yourself most days.
There’s Sō, who’s taking the same Classes as you, who you’ve shared quite a few wins and failures with since attending Nohebi.
And then there’s Kuroo, who’s an absolute pain in the ass, but at least he’s reliable.
“I want to get paid for this,” you tell him when you hand over the CD. “I spent a while analyzing all that footage.”
“Ah, you love doing it,” Kuroo teases, moving to ruffle your hair, “Besides you always bet on Bokuto. I’m just helping you get your money through that.”
“I do not,” you grind through your teeth. You hate him sometimes.
“Do to,” he jokes, turning when something catches your attention. “The Barista has the hots for you.”
You snort. “Yeah, sure.”
“Absolutely.” Kuroo gestures with his hands before grinning. “See? He wants your number.”
“What?” You squeak, turning to look for yourself. The guy isn’t bad-looking at all. Maybe a bit less athletic than you’re used to. And he’s waving at you, gesturing in a way that can really only mean one thing.
“Well, I’m not giving it to him.”
“Why not?” Kuroo leans back, eyes twinkling. “Would you rather go out with me? Oh, Snakelet, I’m honored.”
“Fine,” you bite out, “I’ll get his.”
Kuroo’s still grinning when you come back, leaning over the table to look at your phone.
“Ah, so that’s his name. Now, I’m waiting. Text him.”
“Why?”
“Because I won’t believe you otherwise.”
“You’re sick in the head.”
“Mhm, you too. Now chop chop, we don’t have all day.”
If you say that your first relationship only exists because of Kuroo, you mean it.
.
Moriwaka isn’t all that bad. He might just be exactly what you need.
He studies Psychology, works part-time as a Barista, and collects Star Trek memorabilia, which means you have literally nothing in common and so much more to talk about.
And it’s nice, how he never once asks about Suguru - they’ve only met briefly - or Volleyball - he doesn’t like Sports - or your parents - he’s not into Finance.
He doesn’t push you either.
You don’t like being touched? That’s fine with him, he’s happy sidling up to you on the way to the Cinema - he bought two tickets for the newest Star Trek movie.
All in all, it feels a little more like having a new best friend, just that Moriwaka likes to tell you how good you’re looking every single day.
- 20/19
“I’m going to use the bathroom,” you say, getting up from the Couch.
“I’m pausing the movie,” Moriwaka announces, “This is the best part.”
You’d probably disagree with him if you cared enough, but it’s fine. Star Trek is important to him and he never once complains when you make him rewatch a Volleyball Game.
The doorbell rings just as you close the door behind you.
“That’s probably the Pizza,” he announces. You yawn.
The window doesn’t close properly but you don’t care, no one can see you pee anyway.
“What are you doing here?” Moriwaka’s voice floats up.
“I’m looking for someone.” You freeze, the voice too familiar. What’s Suguru doing here?
He says your name.
“Ah, she’s not here.” You can hear Moriwaka, your heart thumping awkwardly in your chest. Why is Suguru looking for you if he could just call you?
“No, no, I’m sure she’s here.”
“So what? She doesn’t want to see you.”
You fumble the door lock trying to get out. What’s Moriwaka doing?
It doesn’t take long to get out of the apartment and down the stairs, but it feels like half an eternity.
The door is open and you can hear Moriwaka before you can see him.
“I’ve seen your messages,” he announces, voice weirdly cold, “You only call to unload your baggage on her. You’re a pathetic, wet rag of a man.”
“And you’re any better?” Suguru snaps back, “You have no idea what’s between me and-”
“I’m her boyfriend,” Moriwaka announces just as you slide out the door behind him.
Suguru’s face turns perfectly blank at your sight, but Moriwaka isn’t lucky enough to get the hint.
“I’m not allowing you to talk to her.”
“I don’t think that’s your decision,” you tell him coolly.
He turns, surprise evident on his face. But no guilt.
“Listen, I’m just trying to protect you.”
“I don’t need your protection.”
He scoffs. “What? So you’re just going to let him drag you down again? He probably just lost another game. Or his girlfriend ran off or whatever.”
Suguru flinches. The breakup happened a few months ago, but he’s always been bad at taking hits.
“It doesn’t matter,” you tell Moriwaka snidely, “He’s my best friend. You don’t have any say in that.”
“You’re just in love with him,” he spits out, “Right? That’s why you’re pushing me away all the time. You don’t really want to date me, you’re just passing time with me hoping he’ll suddenly turn around and be interested in you.”
Suguru steps forward, fists balled but you’re a little faster, always more inclined to use your tongue instead of your fists.
“Go,” you tell him, your calm facade your biggest weapon, “Your movie’s waiting. I’m sure Captain Whatever has some inspirational quotes for you to flirt with next time.”
Moriwaka huffs, but he’s not dumb enough to take the bait. Or maybe he doesn’t care enough either.
“Go, be unhappy if that’s what you want.” He slams the door shut behind him.
-
The night is warm, the air around you humid and heavy.
Suguru’s looking up at a nearby street lamp, clearly uncomfortable with the situation.
“You were looking for me?” You ask, not ready to deal with the can of worms Moriwaka just opened.
“Yeah, I…” He clears his throat. “I got… I got a deal. For the Yotsuya Motor Spirits. I know it’s only Division 2 but they’ll let me finish College while I play.”
“Oh, Congratulations,” you step forward, not really sure what you want to do, just knowing that you want to be closer.
“Thanks,” he clears his throat again, “I was… I was talking to my parents about it and when they hung up all I could think about was that I wanted to tell you. We haven’t… we haven’t talked in a while, right?”
“Yeah.” You want to ask him who’s fault that is, but really, isn’t it your fault too? After all you were the one who fell in love in the first place.
“How’d you know I was here?” You ask when he’s fighting for words, tongue slipping out between his lips as he thinks. It’s a habit he’s had since you’ve known him and altough you’ve tried to hate it, it just endears him even more to you.
“Ah,” He drags a hand through the hair at the back of his head, “I was at your place but you weren’t there. And I figured you might be out with friends, but Sō said you’re out with your boyf- some guy but he doesn’t know where that is.”
“So?” You did not miss the way he stumbled over the term boyfriend. Your heart’s beating too fast to be healthy, but there’s a smug grin on Suguru’s face now, a look that tells you this story is going into a different direction now.
“You’ve been posting pictures of your favorite drink lately and there’s only one shop in Tokyo who makes it exactly the way you like it, so I thought I’d try over here. Remembered the dude’s name too, can you believe it?”
You laugh. He’s unbelievable, so proud of himself and his most basic deduction skills.
“You did great,” you tell him, “You wanna talk a walk? I need a bathroom and I’m not going back up there.”
“Oh, yeah, sure.” he ushers you along, “There’s a 7-Eleven down the street.”
-
And it feels like yesterday, hips almost knocking into each other, walking down the street.
It feels like you’re six years old again and Suguru’s walking you home from school, his hand clutching yours because even though he’s older, he’s a bit more scared of the world.
It feels like you’re thirteen, only beginning to understand that some boys are gross and some boys are cute and why your heart flutters softly when Suguru’s tongue peaks out whenever he’s lost in thought.
It feels like you’re seventeen, heart heavy yet ready to leap, calculating all the ways a confession could go wrong - and the one way it could go right - only to miss your chance.
“He’s right, you know,” Suguru points out in the too bright lights of the store when you come back from the bathroom.
He’s staring at the cut up fruits in the fridge and maybe he’s thinking what to get for a late night smoothie, but maybe he’s thinking the same thing you’re thinking about.
How all 7-Eleven’s are kinda the same and if they are, is this a place out of time? A place you can stay in without getting older, without the consequence of change?
“I really am a pathetic,wet rag of a man.”
“Hmm,” you make, stepping so close to him your shoulder brushes his. If you’d be a little braver, you’d take his hand.
If you could have a chance to get stuck in time, you’d take it if it meant being with him, hands not quite touching, bare faces reflected in the clear doors of an oversized fridge.
“I swear I’m not doing this because I’m lonely,” there’s a wetness to his voice that your ears are used to, grown fond of, even. The back of his pointer finger touches the back of your hand and his skin is warm and a shiver races down your back.
“And I should hate myself for breaking up what you had with that guy, but-”
You want to turn, look directly at him instead of his reflection in the glass, but you’re frozen in place, heart thundering so loud he must be able to hear it.
“I’ve had a crush on you since… since way before I asked to practice kissing. You’re the coolest person I’ve ever known, and I… I’m so tired of pretending that someone else can compare. I’m sorry.” He whispers the last words, hiccups softly when your hand grabs his, squeezes as tight as you can.
You’re going to cry any second, you know, but you don’t want to, even if it’s him you’re with.
You don’t want any tears to blurr your sight when you can look at him, see him, face flushed and eyes watery, all 179,5cm of pathetic, wet rag of a man.
“Do you want to play family?” You ask, voice a little rough, eyes a little watery too. “We can even get a dog.”
He smiles so wide you can barely see his eyes.
But when he leans in and kisses you, nose softly bumping yours and chuckles ringing through the air, you have to disagree with your younger self.
Kissing isn’t overrated at all. If anything, it’s probably underrated.
- 21/20
“Oh no, we have to play against you guys?” Bokuto’s voice’s too loud to ignore even in the bustle of a packed stadion.
Suguru bristles next to you but relaxes a little when your elbow digs into his side.
“Like they’re going to give you any problems,” Kuroo’s voice is smooth and sticky, clinging to your ears like caramel to the teeth. “Right?”
“Kuroo,” Suguru drawls, “You’re here too?”
“Well of course,” his grin reminds you of the famed Chesire Cat and your arm slings around Suguru’s waist, pulling him in.
He stumbles a bit, turning to look at you. Surprise, joy and then deep adoration wash over his face in a way you’ll never grow tired off. Suguru’s hand slides into the back pocket of your jeans and you know, would there be less people around, he’d be kissing you too.
“Aww, cute,” Kuroo sings, “You didn’t hear anything I just said.”
“Should we?” You ask, “If I want to hear an asshole talk I can just fart.”
Suguru snickers even as Bokuto howls in the background, clearly excited to have a new insult to try on someone else.
But Kuroo wouldn’t be Kuroo if you could best him with one lame insult.
“Funny,” he smiles, “You’re managing today too?”
“No,” you shake your head, “Just here for Suguru.”
“And we’re going to win,” Suguru declares, “MSBY has no chance against the Yotsuya Motor Spirits.”
He says it with conviction, but you know the chances of him winning are low. MSBY have been rising to the top ever since they drafted Miya Atsumu right out of highschool. Now they’ve got Bokuto too. If they’d gotten Sakusa Kiyoomi too like they’d been planning for months, you’d bought the consolation cake already but at least he’s insistent on finishing College before he starts playing professionally.
It doesn’t matter, though.
You’re not with Suguru because he’s got the best chance at winning the game and he knows it. And no matter the outcome of this game, there’s already a small velvet box at home that he thinks you don’t know about.
Like he could keep any secrets from you.
- 27/26
“That’s all,” you cut off your assistant’s questioning, “Everything else has to wait until tomorrow.”
“I understand. Have a good evening.”
“You too.” You cut the call and park the car, thinking for the umpteenth time that you need to start looking into the possibility of hiring a driver. Some of these calls get too intense to be held at the wheel of a vehicle.
There’s a Volleyball on the front lawn and a chewed-up dog toy. You drag your keycard through the scanner and stifle a yawn as the door opens.
“I’m home,” you call out over the pitter-patter of feet.
There’s Princess, your husky-mix and Kuroo, the little black Frenchie that his namesake gifted you at your wedding.
“Kitchen!” You hear a voice over the Princess howling. She’s always so excited to have you back home.
“Hey,” you can’t help smiling as you step into the kitchen, both dogs hot on your heels. Suguru’s standing at the stove, Hime tied to his front. Only a tuft of her dark hair is peaking out and you lean in to kiss him first and then the top of her head.
“How was it?” He asks, “Tired?”
“Extremely so, but everything’s going well. Even Dad is impressed. How was your day?”
“Mh, no, you’ve got to tell first,” he insists, pulling you into his side, “Because I wanna hear your voice a bit more before I tell you about the absolutely disgusting diaper change I had to go through today.”
You laugh. “Okay, so you remember Mamushi, our Client?”
“Mamushi with the thick eyebrows or Mamushi who slurps every beverage?”
“Slurper Mamushi.”
“Okay, I’m following.”
“So, this morning I got an email from him where he claims that we’re charging him too much. He gave us two options: Reduce the cost or dismiss the contract altogether.”
“Oh, that’s spicy. What did you do?”
“Well, remember how I had to cut our lunch call short? I met up with him for coffee right after and got down to business and you won’t believe it: he settled on a different contract that actually costs him more but he’s happy with it. Apparently he doesn’t like how it’s done nowadays and the old times were far better.”
“Amazing,” Suguru drops a kiss on your temple, “I would love to see the face of this man when he realizes how stupid he is. You’re a genius.”
You giggle.
“How was your day, then? Apart from the diaper catastrophe?”
“Well, I regret to inform you that Hime already has an admirer. Koji’s head over heels for her. I had to threaten him with bodily harm to get her back.”
“Oh, is that your libero?” You think, “The one with the Iro?”
“Yep, he died it pink last week.”
“Well, pink suggests he’s sensible. If Hime likes him too-”
“Don’t say that!” Suguru’s hands come down to cover Hime’s ears, “My princess isn’t going to date anyone until she’s at least thirty.”
“Mhm,” you lift your eyebrows, “And how are you going to explain to her that we had her way before we turned thirty?”
A blush works its way up his cheeks and you lean forward to sink your teeth into the flushed skin only to press your lips onto it right after.
“Love you,” you tell him, voice a bit raspy with emotion.
Sometimes, in moments like this, you can barely believe that this is how your life played out.

Anything to Save the Marriage
Tumblr media
18+ Content, Minors do NOT interact
Pairing: Kakashi x F!Reader x Obito
Summary: You are left missing your husband Kakashi while he spends all hours at headquarters busy with his Hokage duties. Obito sees how lonely you are and uses his new jutsu to save your marriage while living out his adolescent fantasy.
Warnings: NSFW, shibari, candle wax, unprotected penetration, mind control
Word Count: 5.9k

“Hi Angel. What brings you by?” Kakashi asks his doting wife.
You gently set a boxed lunch down on his desk before giving his cheek a kiss. “I’m making sure you don’t starve while serving our nation.” you say, eyes softly staring back into his with a sweet smile gracing your lips. All while resisting the urge to roll your eyes at the silly question.
“Will you be home for supper? I was thinking of making your favorite.”
“I’m sorry Angel. I can’t tonight.”
Despite your attempt to conceal it, Kakashi sees the pang in your chest at his answer. “That’s okay.” you say as you grab his hand. “I’ll bring some to you.”
Before you could so much as begin a real conversation with your husband of several years, a shinobi enters the room with a sense of urgency.
“Lord Sixth, we have a report.”
Kakashi looks over at you with an expression of guilt, knowing he has to go back to doing his job.
“It’s alright, I’ll stop by later.” you say with a gracious smile as you bow your head slightly at both your husband and the jonin, before you slip out of the room.
It had been like this for months. No one said it was easy to be married to the Hokage. But you really missed how your relationship used to be. You missed the romantic dates, the bubble baths, sneaking around in the bushes during missions, and even sharing a night's rest together. Recently he spent more time sleeping at his desk than he did in your shared bed.
You felt awful for having such selfish thoughts. He was working so hard and doing so much for the good of everyone around you. Your sacrifice was nothing compared to his. You shake your head to rid your mind of such thoughts as you walk to the market to pick up ingredients to make his favorite dish. If you can’t spend time with him, you might as well make him as happy as you can during your brief interactions. That starts with making sure he has something good to eat.
While clouded in thought you quite literally bumped into a focused Obito, kneeling on the ground.
“Oof” he says as you roll over the boulder of a man. His built figure didn’t even shift on impact while you fell over him like a rag doll, only landing back on your feet due to muscle memory left from your days as a shinobi.
“Y/N!” he exclaims with a bright smile.
“Obito!” you say as you go in for a hug. “What are you doing?”
“I was just exercising my sharingan.”
“Exercising it?” you say intrigued. You know that one of Obito’s many abilities is that he can replicate the jutsus of his fellow shinobi. So whenever he tells you he is ‘exercising’ his eyes, you know he’s up to something good.
“I’m trying to replicate the Yamanaka mind-transfer jutsu”
“Ohhh, that’s a fascinating one! Why didn’t you try that years ago while you were still out on missions?”
“I don’t know. Cause I’m thick and didn’t think of it till a few weeks ago.”
“A few weeks? It seems you’ve lost your touch.”
Obito gives you a half hearted glare. It was easy to mimic a jutsu while someone was doing it infront of him. His sharingan only needed to follow along. It was harder to recall the jutsu from memory let alone make it his own.
“I can do the mind transfer no problem” he says defensively, “I’m trying to improve upon it.”
“Oh? So you’re trying to develop a new jutsu?”
Obito begins to blush. He can see how impressed you are and he was never good at receiving your praise. You were the only woman who could fluster him, and you never seemed to notice how you did it with ease.
“Yes, I’m trying to develop a new jutsu.” he says with a scratch to the back of his head.
“That’s marvelous Obito!”
“Uhh, thanks!” He gives you a sheepish smile.
“Hey, uh, do you want to get together later?”
Obito gives you a look of great surprise.
You’d grown apart in recent years. You didn’t see him much anymore. You used to hang out all the time as kids and he was the best man at your wedding to  Kakashi but after that his visits became less and less frequent. His responsibilities within the Anbu kept him out on lengthy missions and home for only a few hours at a time. However, you noticed him around more recently. Kakashi had promoted him to director of the Anbu forces. He needed someone he trusted with his life, who also had significant experience to direct his elite team.
“Don’t look at me like that!”
“It’s just, wouldn’t you rather spend the evening with your husband?”
“Well I would,” you say sarcastically, making light fun of him “but that hasn’t really been an option as of late.”
“I-I’m sorry to hear that.” he looks at the ground feeling pity for you.
“It’s fine. He’s doing his best and what he’s doing is important. I can’t ask for anything more.”
“Well you’re truly his Angel if that’s how you feel.”
You give a small smile at his usage of Kakashi’s pet name for you.
“So, wanna hang out tonight? I’m gonna drop dinner off at Kakashi’s office but after that I’m free as a bird.”
“I don’t know Y/N”
“Oh, come on Obi, please!” you say putting on your sweetest smile, trying to sway him. “Don’t make me spend another night by myself. I think I might go deaf from the silence.”
“Fine.” he says reluctantly. He could never say no to you. It was an exceedingly frustrating power of yours. “But only if you save some of whatever you’re making for Kakashi. I want a home cooked meal out of this.”
“Deal.”
You smile victoriously at him before you say your goodbyes, continuing on your way to the market. Satisfied by your negotiation and excited to not have to spend another night alone in the isolating silence of your recent marriage.
**************************************************
You open your front door, bags in hand. “Honey I’m home!” you sing pretending that your adoring husband will suddenly appear to take the bags out of your hands and give you a peck on the cheek.
You let out a sad sigh as you gaze around your empty home. You really missed him. Everything about him. How he’d always greet you at the door with a helping hand. How he’d lean down to kiss you while you sat on the couch. How he’d massage your feet after a long day. How he’d make sure every Wednesday was a special date night. How he’d kiss you after your morning work out together. How you’d get a glimpse of his abs as he raised his shirt to wipe the sweat off his face.
He was your favorite person in the entire world and he was the perfect husband. The village was indeed lucky to have him. They couldn’t be in better hands.
Hands that were large with slender, dexterous fingers. Fingers that would graze your hips and slide up your sides as they found their way inside your shirt to grab your-
You shake your head again and wipe you drool opting to focus on the task at hand. You were sure he missed you as much as you missed him. The least you could do is support him by making sure he’s well fed. You busy yourself with getting out the pots and pans. No time to cry, you have a hungry Hokage to feed.
Everything is made and divided out into containers. You cooked enough to last him a few meals and kept a couple helpings out for Obito. Instead of eating the dish you just prepared, you opted to make yourself a simple sandwich, wanting to save as much of the food for Kakashi as possible.
You tidy your house (not that there was much cleaning to do given how devoid your home was of its occupants) before packing up a meal to bring to your husband. As you stroll over to headquarters you wonder how long of a conversation you’ll have this time. You wonder if you’ll get to tell him that Obito’s coming for a visit.
Or will it be a simple drive by like lunch?
You were thrilled to find him alone in his office, buried under a stack of paperwork. You sauntered up to his chair and put down his meal as you leaned against the desk.
“Mmmm, did you bring dessert with my meal?” he says, eyeing you up and down, grabbing your hips as he stands up to tower over you. You lift your hand and slide your finger under his mask about to lower it for a kiss when the door opens yet again with three shinobi barging through. The two of you drop your hands and Kakashi sits back down in his chair.
“I’ll leave you to your work sweetie.” you say with a pat to his shoulder.
He lifts his hand to rest it on yours. “Tomorrow maybe.”
You give him a half hearted smile, knowing that ‘maybe’ means ‘no’ but you didn’t want him to feel guilty so you pretend that it’s okay and you quietly exit his office.
Once out of sight you let a few tears trickle down your cheeks. It had been days since you so much as kissed your husband. The loneliness was starting to consume you. Each interaction left you feeling more alone than the last. You felt a pressure on your chest. You couldn’t shake the feeling and it caused you to hiccup during your walk home.
You stride up to your front door to see a mildly annoyed Obito waiting for you. You smile upon seeing him but his face drops into a look of deep concern.
“Y/N, what is it? What’s wrong?”
You realize he must have caught a sliver of your unhappiness before he had brightened your mood.
“It’s nothing.” you say unconvincingly as another hiccup follows your response.
“It’s not nothing. You know better than to lie to me.”
“It’s okay Obito. It’s not something that can be helped.” you say moving past him to unlock the door. Another hiccup betraying your attempts to seem fine.
The two of you step inside when Obito spins you around placing both arms on your shoulders.
“You’re not fine. What’s going on?”
He gives you a serious stare.  You fold and let out a deep breath. Feeling the tears brim along your lash line, you squeak out, “I- I just- I miss my husband.”
His heart ached. You were the sweetest little flower. Always so pure, with a heart made of gold, reserved just for Kakashi. Of course his absence would affect you more. How could it not? He had the distraction of taking care of the village while you were the one sleeping in an empty bed.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. I didn’t think about how lonely it must be for you.”
“It’s silly, I know.” you say ashamed, wiping your eyes.
“It’s not silly. It’s human.” He gives you a hug. “Well…I’m here now. Care to do something together?”
“Yes please.” You speak into his chest.
He laughs at how adorable your muffled request sounds before letting go.
You stride over to your closet and pull out a couple board games. “You interested in playing any of these?”
A malicious grin tugs at the corners of his lips as he looks up at you. “You’re really gonna let me choose?”
You laugh already knowing which game he is gunning for.
“Go ahead. You know you want to.”
For the first time in months laughter filled your home. Effortless conversation flowed between you and your old friend. Warmth that had been absent for weeks occupied the room.
Obito was relieved to see you smile. Happiness suits you. You fill the room with joy when you smile, no matter where you are or what you’re doing. When you’re happy it infects everyone around you. Seeing you anything but happy brings an uncomfortable tightness to his core.
“Y/N, I’m sorry I haven’t been checking in on you.”
“It’s not your responsibility, Obito.”
“Yes it is. I’m your friend and I work with Kakashi. I knew how much he’d been sleeping at the office. I should have come over sooner.”
You look at the board in front of you not wanting Obito to see your eyes mist up so easily at the reminder of your loneliness. He reaches over and grabs your hand.
“I’ll be back tomorrow. If Kakashi’s home I’ll leave you two be, and if he’s not, you can take your shot at redemption.”
You glare at him with a smile,“You little shit.” He always got so cocky when you played board games together, but the relief of knowing you would have company was clearly visible to him.
You walk him to the door to wish him goodbye. He pulls you in tight and kisses the top of your head. “It’ll all be okay. It’s just temporary.”
“That’s what I keep telling myself.”
Though he felt genuinely terrible for you, he couldn’t help but savor the hug. You were so beautiful and Obito wished he could hold you like this all the time.
You never knew about Obito’s feelings for you. He had them ever since puberty. You were always pretty, but you grew into a real beauty around the age of fourteen. Obito certainly wasn’t the only boy to notice you either. However, being your friend, he already knew which boy had taken a hold of your heart, and Obito knew from a young age that he never stood a chance.
Despite what a little prick Kakashi was back in the day, Obito also knew Kakashi had feelings for you too. You were one of the only classmates he was respectful towards and he sometimes would give you a compliment or words of praise. Something his arrogant younger self did seldom. It wouldn’t be till much later that he actually began to pursue you. Obito never told Kakashi about his feelings towards you, but he’s sure Kakashi still knew. Shortly after the wedding he asked for an uptake in missions, not wanting to be around to witness your marital bliss. He needed space to get over you and the missions stood to occupy his mind while he did just that.  He would never do anything to jeopardize your relationship though. He supported you both.
Yet now here you are, warm in his arms, body pressed up against his. He chuckles knowing his younger self would have fainted. Regrettably you let go of him and it was time to leave you be.
When Obito left you turned to face your empty house. The silence is as excruciating as ever. You clean the dishes and put away the boardgames. You brush your hair and teeth, dress in your pajamas and slip in between the covers to spend another night alone. You roll over to look at Kakashi’s side of the bed. You imagine him laying down next to you. Stroking your hand and kissing the back of it to say goodnight. You let out a deep sigh before closing your eyes and drifting off to sleep.
*************************************************
The next morning you whip up breakfast, pack it in a container and go find your husband. You turn the knob of Kakashi’s office and open the door to find him asleep at his desk. Softly snoring with a small drop of drool wetting his mask; he looked so peaceful. You didn’t want to wake him so you quietly placed his breakfast near him before brushing his hair out of his face and planted a light kiss on his forehead.
“Maybe I’ll catch you at lunch, love” you whisper to him and with that, you retreat to your home.
Obito catches you on your way out the building. He sees the defeated look on your face and knows, once again you were unable to spend time with your husband. He had never seen you look so sad. He started to worry about you.
Predictably, Kakashi could not come home. He spent another evening in his office while you spent the evening with Obito. Not only could he see how lonely you are but he could see how badly you craved intimacy. Intimacy in any form. Be it a kiss, a hug, or just holding hands. He could feel the tension in your chakra. It was so thick that it started to stir desires in him that he had long suppressed. He needed to alleviate your frustration, to save your marriage. If Kakashi wasn’t careful he may lose you. You have needs after all. If he wasn’t going to pay his wife any attention, you may look elsewhere. Luckily Kakashi happened to have a friend ready and willing to help.
What Obito told you was true. He could do the mind transfer jutsu just fine. He was adding onto it. Instead of just taking over the body while the other person sat passenger side observing what was happening, he was working to make it so that the mind of the possessed person believed they were making the choices of their own accord while Obito was in full control. Less of a mind transfer jutsu and more of a mind control jutsu. This would be a perfect time to test it out.
Your needy body would finally be taken care of by your absentee husband while he, Obito, did all the things to you he had always wanted to.
…for the sake of your marriage of course.
While you turn on the television, he puts his arm around your shoulders and pulls you into him.
“Don’t worry, Y/N, I’m gonna make sure he takes the night off tomorrow.”
“Pfff, good luck.”
“I’m serious. I’ll make sure of it. Even if I need to stay at the office in his place. I’ll make sure me and Shikamaru have it covered.”
“I’ll believe it when I see it, Obi” you retort as you lay your head against his chest, feeling the comfort of having literally anyone to lean against.
He kissed the top of your head before facing the tv, allowing his mind to swarm with all the memories of things he’s wanted to do to you over the years. A cloying smile involuntarily splitting his face.
************************************************
The next afternoon Obito strutted into Kakashi’s office.
“Hey Obito, how can I help you?”
“You’re spending the night with your wife.”
Kakashi looked down, feeling guilt weigh on him.
“You haven’t been home in days and you smell. Go home and take a shower.”
“I just took a shower in the Anbu locker room this morning!”
“Fine. You haven’t been home in days and you have bags under your eyes. Go home and take a nap.”
“What’s up with you?”
Obito turns to ‘look around the room’ while he discretely weaves hand signs before turning back towards Kakashi. He faced Kakashi, leaning over the desk so his eyes were inches from him.
“I think it’s a good idea to go home, can you stay behind and cover me, Obito?”
And like a hypnotized parrot Kakashi repeats,
“I think it’s a good idea to go home, can you stay behind and cover me, Obito?”
Obito smiles as Kakashi stands up and walks around the desk. Obito had Kakashi shake his hand and leave the room. As he does, Obito takes a seat in Kakashi’s chair and closes his eyes to sit back and enjoy the ride as he steers Kakashi home towards your sweet arms.
***************************************************
Standing outside your home Obito digs the keys out of Kakashi’s pocket and opens the door. He can hear the shower running in your en suite bathroom. He closes the door behind him just as you turn off the water.
Obito’s heart begins to flutter. She’s already naked. He quickly strides over to catch you drying yourself off with a fuzzy towel.
You look marvelous. More beautiful than he even imagined. Your perky mounds hanging just a little lower without the support of a bra, nipples stiffened from the cold air outside the warm shower, they stood at attention for his gaze. Your waistline cinched in before filling out around your hips where your glutes rounded your frame. Thighs plush and grabable thinning out towards your ankles where polished toenails adorned your feet.
“Babe?” you say in complete surprise as you look back at your husband staring at you more intensely than he ever has in his life.
“Oh hey baby!”
“Baby? Since when do you call me baby?" You say, still shocked that your husband is standing in your home and has the most bizarre look of hunger on his face.
“Sorry Angel, I’m just so tired. I forgot myself.” Obito says stretching Kakashi’s mouth into a warm smile
“Oh, if that’s the case, I’ll warm up some food so you can eat and go to bed.”
You wrap the towel around your chest, walking towards Kakashi to get clothes from your bedroom dresser. Obito stops you with Kakashi’s arm against the doorframe.
“Actually, if I’m gonna eat, I can think of something I’d like instead.”
He felt ridiculous saying it, but he’d always wanted to try a bold line like that with you. At least that’s how he imagines it in his fantasies.
You give him a devious smile through your lashes. Thank gods!
You lunge upwards locking your lips onto your husband's mouth, arms wrapped around his neck as your towel falls to the floor. Obito feels Kakashi’s entire body set on fire. He needed to be rid of these pesky clothes ASAP. Before he places his hands on you, he’s pulling off his jacket and tugging down his pants while you pull off his shirt. He wanted to feel your soft bare skin against his toned chest.
Bodies completely barren, Obito cannot get enough of your taste as Kakashi’s body stands up to his full height. Hands greedily exploring your skin, Obito had never known perfection till he touched you.
Pent up sexual frustration made you eager. You kissed down your husband’s body as you sank to your knees. Lips delicately kissing along each muscle during your descent. Obito could feel your warm breath on Kakashi’s chest. His heart was fluttering at the sensation and he almost lost himself with the excitement of what was about to happen next.
You settle on your knees before him, hand around his base and mouth kissing his tip. You take in only the head while your tongue toys with the slit. Obito’s eyes roll back into Kakashi’s skull. You were masterful with your tongue. You hand stroked his shaft while your mouth kept playing, focusing the suction on just his end.
“Fuuuck, Angel.”
Your bright eyes beam up at him with a less than angelic gleam. You enjoyed this. You liked manipulating him with your mouth. You enjoyed how it was making his knees weak and causing him to lean on the wall. He did not expect this from you.
He placed Kakashi’s hand on the back of your head, gently pushing you down on his length. You gladly accepted, allowing your nose to kiss his silver happy trail. Obito couldn’t help but give out a choked groan. It sounded so strange hearing him groan in Kakashi’s voice but you took him so well and the sensation of your throat tight around the end of his shaft was beyond anything he had ever dared to imagine.
Without asking, you bobbed back and forth, dick sliding in and out with ease as you kept your mouth wide open. You let the slobber pool around your bottom lip and spill onto your chest and thighs as you sink back on your heels.
Wanting you to go faster, he twisted your hair into a ponytail and guided you along at a quickened pace. The lewd noises of your throat closing around his tip over and over again rang through the air. His cock began twitching. He was about to cum. Dammit, not yet!
Feeling him twitch, you reach up and massage his jewels, only making it harder for him to contain himself. No amount of restraint could stop it from happening. He felt the seed gush out of his tip and swirl around your throat before you swallowed it. Your throat closing around his softening dick as you did.
You stand up, a little bit of drool mixed with cum falling out of the corner of your mouth as you smile and wipe it off.
“Very good baby. You ready to give me round two?”
Round two?! Obito thought. Is this normal for them? Sure enough, as the thought formed, so did the erection swelling and pushing its way between your plush thighs.
Thank gods Kakashi can go multiple rounds back to back. Now I can really play.
He corners you in the room, caging you against the wall with his arms. You have a look of fear in your eyes that has excitement etched behind it.
“What are you going to do to me Daddy?”
Obito could feel Kakashi’s nipples stiffen at the pet name. He reached out Kakashi’s hand and enclosed it around your slender throat.
“I’m going to tie you up and abuse those beautiful holes of your’s.”
Your eyes were set ablaze.
Closing the fingers tighter around your throat, he leans down and whispers in your ear.
“Now go get the rope, slut.”
You moan and try to crane your head to kiss him. He squeezes harder and tuts.
“Not till you bring me your bindings.”
The weight on your throat is released. You scamper over to where you keep the condoms, lube, cuffs, and rope. You grab the bundle and return to a waiting Kakashi. Silver hair looming above you, scarred face looking down with lust, as his lips hungrily curl above his beauty mark. Your inner thighs were a mess, thick slick coating them in excitement.
“Turn”
You face away from him and hold your hands behind your back. He ties around your wrists and runs the rope in between them. You give a small moan as the knot tightens. Obito felt Kakashi’s pulse quicken. Maybe he could take this a step further.
“You like that don’t you.”
“Mhm” you whimper
Obito has Kakashi pull the rope tight around your elbows and torso, knotting your arms in a shibari pattern.
When the fuck had Kakashi learned this?!
You were on the verge of cumming before he even touched between your legs. When he was done he pushed you down on the bed. Your face planted into the soft mattress and your rear was raised high in the air. Kakashi swatted your bottom and you let out squeals of pleasure.
“Does my little slut like that?”
“Yes Daddy.”
“Well you shouldn’t!” he scolds with a heavy spank.
You scream in a mix of pain and pleasure.
“Look how wet you are for me. Mind if I have my meal?”
You nod with your face still smushed into the mattress.
Obito dives in anxious to know how you taste. It was sweet with a hint of a tangy aftertaste. How could it not be sweet? It was you. He could feast down here for hours. You had so much cum to lap up from your weeks of pent up desire. He hoped that he could keep a hold of Kakashi’s mind long enough to taste it all.
He licked your thighs clean first. Enjoying your moans as Kakashi’s velvety tongue ran up your sensitive skin. Then he tickled your bud as he pointed his tongue, letting it sink into your hole while it made its way from your clit to your rear, gathering as much of your sweet cream as it could. His tongue scoops out the white dessert from between your folds and he can hear you hyperventilate with pleasure. He looked down at your feet and saw how your toes curled. He did that. He made your toes curl.
“Ah! Please! Fuck me Daddy!”
Obito had Kakashi flip you over, your body resting on top of your bound arms, your knees propped up and spread open.
“Not till I taste every last drop.” He husks into your heat.
A trail of goosebumps visible on your abdomen. He kneels on the side of the bed and pulls you down into his face as his nose nudges against your ticklish bud. Sucking and slurping you squirm from the stimulation. You scream praises and thank him for how he spoils you. His ears ringing with satisfaction. He starts rutting against the side of the bed, needing friction against the length between his legs.
Finding the will to stop, a large hand slaps down against your sex causing you to flinch. Your pitiful cry was enough to make precum leak onto the bedspread.
Lining up with your slit, he pushes between your folds. His vision goes white and for a moment he thinks he lost control of the jutsu. But he can still feel you. No, he’s still in control. He takes a deep breath that is broken up by a shudder as your walls swallow every inch.
I’m only marrying a girl if she feels exactly like this. How does Kakashi ever leave her alone? I don’t think I’d be able to leave the bed.
Vision coming back, he looks down on you. You’re biting your tongue anxiously waiting for his thrusts. A crooked smile twisting onto his face, he gives a punctuated thrust that scoots you up the bed.
“Is that what you were waiting for?”
He does it again.
You nod pathetically.
“My little slut needed some friction?”
“Yes Daddy.”
His grin widening, he thrusts into you with all of his might. It was violent. How you were able to handle his passion amazed him. You should be split in half by this but instead your eyes roll back in enjoyment. Kakashi certainly kept this bit of information to himself. No worries, he knows your dirty little secret now.
Stacking your knees on top of each other, he lays you on your side, continuing his assault. Your sounds filled the room. He covers your mouth to hear how cute you sound muffled by his hand. His fingers feel as tears prick at the corners of your eyes.
“Yes, take it.”
You allow your head to collapse onto the bed as a guttural groan falls from your lips.
Obito looks over at the scented candle lit beside the bed. He pushes your shoulder back down so you are on your back, legs sprawled. A mischievous grin graced his face before you caught the glint of danger that flashed across Kakash’s eyes as he reached for the candle.
You bite your lip in anticipation of what happens next. Length still filling your needy walls, he tips the candle so that melted wax drips onto your chest. You feel it sear your skin as it drips to your nipple. He tilts again. Your hips buck up as you pull air between your teeth. Kakashi’s mouth grunts as he feels you constrict around him from the pain. Your eyes burn with lust, daring him to keep going but he can’t contain himself. Obito resumes his earlier pace as he watches the wax harden on your tits.
All he can think as he drives into you is how can Kakashi stand to be away from you instead of doing filthy things to your perfect body? Sweat rolls down his arms and chest. Squelching emits from between your legs. Mewling from your lips. He couldn’t stop himself from dragging in and out of you, even if he wanted to.
Fingers dig deep in your flesh as he grips you. Desperate to keep your hips flush with his. You preen at the depth of his intrusion while your arms go numb from your bindings. He leans down, needing his lips on yours. Slowing down his thrust so they were long but deep with each inward snap.
You bit his lip, pulling back as you open your eyes to gaze up at him. You were happy. Your face was tired and fucked out, but you were happier than he’s seen you all week.
“Am I taking good care of you Angel?”
“Mmm, yes Daddy, thank you.”
Obito begins to peel off the hardened wax while he casually thrust fore and aft. You squirm and clamp down around him as each piece releases. The feeling making him twitch inside of you.
You gasp as he peels off the wax directly over your nipple. Like ripping off a bandaid, you wince, before his tongue licks soothing circles over your irritated nub. Soft moans of relief fill Kakashi’s ears, running circles of joy around Obito’s mind.
His arms circle around you while he suckles. His fingers finding their way under the rope, gripping the intricate ties. You gush around him while his tongue flicked over your nubs made sensitive from the removal of the hardened wax. Sealing his lips around them and sucking in hard, you coo for him as slick drips onto the bed underneath where your bodies meet.
“Mmm, you’re just a little slut, aren’t you? Cumming for me like this.”
“Yes, ah!”
Obito releases you and flips you onto your knees, face again shoved into the mattress. Lining the tip up once more, every inch finds itself buried inside of you. Your vulgar noises are lost in the soft bed as you’re pounded from behind. Thighs colliding with your rear, balls slapping against your swollen bud. You immediately cum, walls fluttering around the length inside of you.
Obito doesn’t care, he continues to use Kakashi to rail through you, not giving your sensitive cunt a second to recover. You spiral into orgasm again. Toes curling as you screech from the over stimulation. You writhe under him causing him to lose control. Spilling Kakashi’s spend inside of you as he thrusts erratically, milking every drop into your tight hole.
Still inside, Obito reaches over, grabbing the kunai from Kakashi’s nightstand and cuts through the rope, releasing your arms before collapsing on top of you. You close your eyes feeling comforted by the weight and warmth of his body on top of yours.. Obito peppered kisses on your cheek as you gave your husband the most radiant smile.
He leaned up looking for the towel you dropped earlier and saw the white milk leak out of you. He groaned at the sight wishing to etch it into his memory forever.
“Care for another shower?”
You give him a knowing smile trodding after him. You hold each other under the warm spray. Hands playfully exploring the other. Obito hums as you feel Kakashi’s built backside, digging your fingers in as you pull yourself into him.
He wrapped his arms around you, resting his chin on the top of your head and closing his eyes. Obito wanted to stay. He wanted to know what it would be like to lay with you, to wake up next to you, have you cook him breakfast, but he couldn’t risk someone catching him in Kakashi’s office.
He released the jutsu, knowing Kakashi will sleep well in his bed next to his wife.
When Obito blinks his eyes, he finds himself back in his own body. He looks down and sees that he’s made a mess of the front of his pants.
Shit, really?! Well this was an unforeseen side effect.
