FFXIV Write 2k23 - Day 4

Off the Hook (Modern Day Streamer AU)

“Welcome back Scions!” Hero beamed as he waved at his camera set up, the stream was live and his mod team was ready for the chaos. Hero was usually a cozy game streamer- if he wasn’t doing his baking streams, known for things like Animal Crossing or Stardew Challenge Runs. However, he could be convinced to do other styles of games- and one of his friends had talked him into trying something new. “No we are not taking a trip back to the farm today, we’re doing something special!” He already had the capture set up for the switch anyway.

So a few games of the new Splatoon wouldn’t hurt. “Alright chat, I want you to guess while I set up my switch. Mods, give ten thousand channel points to- let’s say- the first three correct guesses! I’ll help narrow the field though, it’s not an indie title and it’s got online multiplayer.” He actually was just waiting for the game to finish downloading, while keeping an eye on chat to see if his friend would show. Granted, he could just yell down the hall- but chat didn’t need to know they were living together now. It’d lead to rumors and unneeded speculation.

Especially since Zenos was supposed to be dating his lead moderator- Asahi.

Not that Hero wasn’t also dating Asahi, but there was this whole royal wedding fiasco that they had to resolve first and he didn’t want to make it public that they were a triad until it was resolved. Partially by suggestion of Zenos’ fathers. Specifically Regula, the biggest advocate for online safety and anonymity he knew. Partially because the pair of them have managed to keep their relationship out of the spotlight for years- hell, no one could even tell Varis had transitioned after having Zenos. The royal family knew how to keep secrets- even in an online era.

Finally Asahi posted a message in his mod chat.

Oh, that would explain a lot. Okay, Hero could work with that. He’d watch Zenos’ VOD later just to see whatever he did. Hero wasn’t one for games like League or whatever competitive fighting game of the week Zenos was punishing people in, but he liked to watch Zenos play anyway. He never got tilted, even when losing, he just got excited for a challenge. Watching his smile spread when he found someone who made playing interesting was Hero’s favorite part of his streams.

Hero sighed a bit, that meant his team would just be Thancred and Raha today. That was fine, his streams usually didn’t get crazy so two would be enough. “Alright bets are off, let’s get this started!” He switched to the game screen to show off the Splatoon logo, “I played the WiiU version way back when so I’m not totally clueless, but I wonder how it’s changed for the switch. I think I’ll miss Marina though, I loved her outfit. Maybe I'll cosplay her sometime.” He winked at his chat and grinned as the heart emojis poured in. “Also, fair warning, I was a splat roller guy before so prepare for me to make a lot of mess.”

Honestly the stream was going great for a while- until he wound up in one specific lobby. “Who the flip is this sniper? He’s stupid accurate and-” Hero paused for a moment, long viera ears turning to ear Zenos talking to his own stream. He could barely pick up the words, “effective on rollers- can’t have that,” before he quickly pulled up Zenos’ stream on his other monitor. “Chat I’m going to have to pause after this game.” He was going to beat Zenos within an inch of his life over this. It couldn’t be intentional, he knew they weren’t trying to get into each other’s games.

Shame someone in chat realized why he was angry before he had the chance to elaborate.

Fuck, whelp that cat was already out of the bag.

Suddenly his chat lit up with messages of support. Calls to kick his ass and run him down were rampant.

“Guys I’m not going to chase him down specifically, that’s unsporting of me.” He laughed a little, calming down for the moment. “I am, however, going to turn this whole flippin’ map pink and send him a clip when I win.” Not if.

When.

Time to do what he did best, be a nuisance. Don’t get cooked, stay off the hook indeed.

What are your Agents main weapons?

YES YES YES FUCK YES I LOVE THE WEAPON QUESTIONS

Agent 3 - Dynamo roller/E-liter. Three is better at rollers and chargers, shooters aren’t really his strongest class. When younger used to play more weapons like octobrush, carbon roller and cherry h3 nozzlenose. Three has very good upper body strength and solid mass, so using the Dynamo isn’t a struggle for him at all. (I like to headcanon that using a Dynamo can require being being heavy and fit enough to get anything out of the weapon).

Agent 4 - A lot of shooters + dualies and brellas. Four is more used to shooters, most used being splash-o-matic, n-zap and potentially the squeezer. Four likes to use dualie squelchers and tetra dualies, and he sometimes plays the splat brella just for fun. Three tried to teach him how to use the dynamo but Four likes to stick to more fast pace combat. Doesn’t really like the semi-automatics much though.

Agent 8 - Hydra Splatling/Ballpoint splatling. Eight always enjoyed getting a splatling weapon on a station, he liked having the range of a charger but not have to aim too precisely. Fun fact: when 8 was an octarian soldier he was in a group of splatling users. By now, Eight is very good with his movement, I like to think that splatlings take some time learning to properly move with the weapon.

Neo agent 3 - Out of not being able to stick to a weapon for too long he doesn’t really have mains. But, his most used weapons include blasters, Neo isnt the type of guy to have good aim, so he’s that one blaster main that mains the weapon because their aim is mid and just rely on the blast radius. Neo prefers the vanilla blaster, but sometimes uses the rapid ones.

Interesting bonus facts:

3 and 4’s mains are actually based on their games’ metas. Four is a shooter main because splatoon 2’s most dominant class are shooters, and Three mains E-liter and Dynamo as they were quite famous and threatening back then

Three uses E-liter 3k, not 4k

Three can fight pretty good up close even with an e-liter

Eight has a goal of 5starring all splatlings

Four started using brella after becoming an agent

Neo likes to play the same weapon as Three whenever they play together. Unfortunately he is tall, but not very strong, so he can’t exactly keep up with a Dynamo

Three and Eight like to swap weapons for fun

Eight tells Four things he remembers from an octarian army, like certain techniques and how some weapons are different from the ones on the surface

"How To Counter My Weapon!"

I wanna start a trend where we say what our main weapons are, and then immediately give advice on how to counter it based on our playing experiences! Not sure how it'll catch on, but I'll start!

[Disclaimer: As per everything I post, this is just my experiences/thoughts/etc, and not set in stone as law! Take what helps you, and leave what doesn't!]

HOW TO COUNTER MY WEAPON: The Flingza Roller!

The Flingza Roller is a tricky weapon! With two different swinging styles, you could say it's a neat fusion of a standard Splat Roller and a Dynamo with a little less power. The vertical flick has very impressive range! However, it is also very weak and often takes a good 2, 3, or even 4 hits to actually take someone out.

How to counter it? Take advantage of the Vertical flick flaw: BEING S L O W

I have been taken down by SO many bowled bombs and straight up ambushes because I was in the middle of a vertical flick! I can't move or react well during it, so it is an opportune time to take me out.

Also like with most rollers, if you outrange us, you already have a solid chance. After all, we don't have a throwable bomb...We have Ink Mines!

HOW TO COUNTER THE INK MINE: Ink well! Just be careful, especially of common paths of travel! We like to put them in places we can catch you trying to sneak. Map awareness is key! We also make an animation setting one down, so if your eyes are sharp, you may be able to catch us in the act and know -exactly- where it is.

HOW TO COUNTER TENTAMISSILES (YES REALLY): As much as the community hates them, they CAN be avoided easily if your map awareness is strong!

My #1 rule is NEVER group up with your teammates too close! That's a recipe for me to get a double, triple, or in very rare cases, an entire team wipe in one fell swoop! On maps like Eeltail, don't be afraid to go under the bridge for cover! (Just make sure one of your teammates aren't up there) If missiles are on just you, just pick a path and move away carefully! If it's on everyone, see where your teammates are scattering first and move -away- from them the best you can.

Sadly sometimes they may run towards you in panic; can't do much about that. Keep an eye on my special icon and have a plan of escape ready! We are also vulnerable while LAUNCHING missiles, so if you are close enough already, run in and take us out!!

In the right hands, Flingza is adaptable! In my experience, 90% of us mostly use it as an inking/support/tentamissile spammer...But if they're like me, who also uses it to be aggressive as a regular roller (and swap playstyles as needed), be careful how you approach! If given enough ink to move in, a Flingza can rush right in and start slammin' down on multiple people.

Blasters, you are my nightmare, as one shot at my feet and I'm basically stuck /dies

I got Engel! they're so cute, could you tell me more about them?

A few people have asked about Engel actually and I'm not going to reply to all of those (since it's like, the same answer) so i'll do this one!!

I'm pretty sure I posted his design thing from last year on here but here he is (yes, he is a dude despite how he dresses. he is incredibly used to people thinking he is a girl. and he doesn't really care at this point)

Interestingly he is actually not from Octaria OR Inkopolis but actually grew up in the Deepsea and he hated it, like, a lot. Which explains why when he got settled on the surface, he founded a band called Deep Sea Dead Zone. because the deep sea is a dead goddamn place.

Their first album came out in 2017 and the second one, well... it hasn't happened yet because their guitarist kinda fucked off. That guitarist being Dodo, while the other band members are Boy and Peppermint. They're still kinda in the process of recruiting a new one, and while Engel has PLENTY of songs written and probably almost ready to go, the band is still stuck in a bit of limbo because everyone is STILL kind of busy with you know, adult stuff, and other life stuff

The main thing going on for him is being the lead guy for the band, which has also resulted in him being micro-celebrity mostly on social media, but he's also looking to be a fashion designer. Kind of a lot in his life got messed up because of the band going on hiatus and other things happening that threw him out of the loop... he's not a very stable person and yes i took the twitter thread from some tumblr post i saw and edited him into it

Engel is a really outgoing and energetic person usually, and he really doubles down on the cute aesthetics, so a lot of people who don't specifically know him from his band are really surprised to learn what kind of music he writes. In total contrast to how his personality seems to be, like a lot of lyrics are ridiculously moody, angry or straight up depressing...

so basically, he's got a lot going for him but also a lot going against him, mostly his own mental health and past trauma. But he HAS been doing much better recently (therapy, meds et cetera) AND he even has a slug now to help with a feeling of normalcy. Living alone is pretty difficult for him especially with how busy a lot of his friends have been pretty much since their turf team broke up a good few years ago... that was way before Splatoon 2 and before the band even existed

briefly about his turf team, during the era of Splatoon 1 turf wars in the early 2010's, Deep Sea Dead Zone were a blue ink battling team! (though that was not their name.) Peppermint was a Krak-On Splat Roller, Boy was a .52 Gal, Dodo was an E-Liter 3K and Engel was, of course, a Carbon Roller

He was also brand new to the surface, could barely speak the language, and had to pretty much sneak out to meet up and play with his friends. It's a whole thing. Playing with friends was always the main draw of ink battling as a sport for him, obviously, even though he was pretty decent on his own. When Peppermint had to retire from them due to health reasons, no one (except Dodo because he was never in it for the friends anyway) really felt the urge to keep playing anymore, so he's not touched ink battling since like, probably 2015

With that being said though.... Peppermint has returned to Turf Wars and looks like she misses him

I know damn well that minatos either a splattershot main. Don't ask me how i know i just do. His favourite special is the crab tank, again don't ask I just know these things. Also he's definitely X rank or bordering on S+ and S but stopped caring to rank up once he hit that.

Hamukos prolly a roller main or smth. I can't rlly think of any other weapon rn. Her fav special is either the ultra stamp or the inkzooka. She's definitely in X rank and is fucking terrifying in clam blitz (like most ppl are).

Yukari mains the tri-stringer, enough said. But b4 splat 3 came out she was probably a inkbrush user. Her special is the booyah bomb and gets mad when the others dont ink their spawn (even at the others on the enemy team).

Junpeis would main splatana in 3 and would always be the player to charge to the enemy base as soon as the match starts. He's the guy players mean when they say ink your spawn. Also imagining him struggling to use the zip caster (like me cause using that shit is hard)

I imagine fuuka being a pretty good charger main that it's scary. But even in videogames she prefers being the support rather than being at the front.

If there were fist weapons in splatoon akihiko would main that shit. But since there isn't then blaster main or whatevers quicker. He definitely protizes splatting the enemy team, which doesn't do well in turf war lol.

Mitsuru doesn't play videogames that much but she's probably a brella user cause I can't think of anything else for her but shes pretty good at ranked, mainly tower control. I think her main thing would be stealth, sneaking up on enemies and when they least expect it attack them from behind. And yes she has fallen off the edge more times than she would like to admit.

Aigis is either a dualies or e-liter main and is the poster child for scary tenta missles players. And since their an anti shadow weapon they probably have like an auto aim installed in them that sort of messes up splat matches sometimes.

Kens a splattling main due to it being able to fire continously so it's like a endless onslaught. He likes the inkjet special as it makes him higher than the others so he can easily pick them out.

Shinjiro is either a splatana stamper main or doesn't know how to change his weapons so he's stuck using the splattershot Jr. Him and aki get VERY heated when they get put on opposite teams, they always gotta beat eachother and mitsuru is sick of it. Imagine this: aki kraken vs shinji kraken.

Whenever SEES has game nights it's hell, especially pvp games. They get through 5 matches before one of them gets pissed off and picks a fight. This usually ends in mitsuru scolding them and any wounds getting patched up.

Koromaru is just a bystander in all this, wondering what he did to be stuck with these people.

- The damage-rate reduction caused by distance has been adjusted. You can now cause 50.0 damage / 100.0 damage from farther away than before.

Big Swig Roller

Gear Ability Changes

Ninja Squid

- Ink splash will no longer be invisible for 30/60 of a second immediately after transforming into kid form.

- Using the gear ability Swim Speed Up at the same time will no longer result in one of these abilities being cancelled.

- While using Ninja Squid, swim speed will continue to be reduced by a fixed amount.

AYE OK SO BRELLA STUFF-

- Fixed an issue where when a player is moving or jumping with an open umbrella, the area being protected from incoming ink is about 1/60 of a second behind where it appears to be.

- Fixed an issue where the area being protected from incoming ink by an open umbrella is slightly to the left or right of where it appears to be.

- Fixed an issue where the animation of opening an umbrella to protect from attacks happens slower than the actual defensive effect begins.

Changes to Multiplayer

- Fixed an issue where if you ink certain parts of the terrain in Eeltail Alley with a roller, it causes a slowdown in the game.

- Fixed an issue that caused ammo stocked up in the Snipewriter 5H to vanish after depositing Golden Eggs or shooting them from a Big Shot launcher.

funny how i noticed that in my gameplay and had the immediate thought "they should fix that"

- Fixed an issue in Marooner's Bay during low tide that made it difficult to ink over a Flipper-Flopper’s area of attack if it tried to dive close to the water’s surface.

The heated debate of inking base as someone who's very casual at splatoon

Why are ppl so confused? I think its bc of the possibility of people who never ink base. Now I've had this happen (more so in splat 2 but I'm pretty sure we would have won a recent match if we inked base just a biiiiit more) maybe ppl think ok don't ink base? I will not touch it.

When 2 ink base? Well ideally when you die, come back and ink more. Now if you're in rando lobbies you cantv really tell what your team will do....

Bc.... use the base to gain special, chances are no one is gonna be around to bug you so take some free points! However if you have someone who wanted to spend 2 minutes inking every inch of the base you'll have NOTHING to gain....sharing is caring!

What's the important part? Das right the middle. Unless you're on MMR in which case no rules just suffer (no but why is this map such a nightmare to play on everyone hated WW coming back but this....i realize now... is the worst map)

Chargers and i believe splatlings are ones that sit back a bit from the main fight (i have my moments ok) and as this is my main weapon my general movement might be different from someone who plays roller or duelies... so i tend to ink myself a path from spawn to whatever spot I'm gonna be at until i get scared and run away to another one

YES i have some ideas 😼 as for each of their preferred game modes and main weapons it would be something like:

turf wars- maxie (dualie squelchers), archie (splat roller, bloblobber), guzma (grim range blaster)

splat zones- maxie, archie, giovanni (kensa splattershot pro), rose (kensa undercover brella)

tower control- giovanni, ghetsis (hydra splatling, dynamo roller), lysandre (permanent inkbrush), lusamine

rainmaker- giovanni, ghetsis, guzma

clam blitz- lysandre, lusamine, rose

(cyrus is not in any of these bc he doesnt participate in any battles unless someone else drags him along LOL its typically in splat zones or tower control though)

as for salmon run…. bc of its seedy fucked up reputation most of them dont want to be like associated with it BUT ghetsis does enjoy it as does guzma. theyve managed to bring along most bosses with them for a shift convincing them its fun and they leave the lobby a different person LMAO those higher difficulties during wave 3 are traumatizing (rose lysandre and giovanni may or may not have stocks in grizzco) (rose lysandre and giovanni do not participate in salmon run)

It was a beautiful night and you had the windows open to enjoy the sweet, fragrant breeze as it carried the scent of night-blooming jasmine into your new living room. You had just spent the better part of an hour covering the carpet with a tarp and methodically taping off the trim, getting ready to paint the boring eggshell white walls a more vibrant turquoise. As an artist, there was something soothing to the actions, to even just the intent to paint, to transform your surroundings into something brighter. It was a balm to your frazzled mental state.

It had been a stressful day to say the least, overseeing the movers and contractors while juggling phone calls from your day job and trying to keep the dogs calm in a brand new environment. It was made all the more worse by the obvious, looming absence of your newly pronounced husband. He was originally supposed to be there to help with the move, but now it looked like the same incident that him cutting your honeymoon short was likely to extend into another week.

You were disappointed of course, but not exactly surprised. You knew what you were signing up for when you agreed to marry the BSAA Captain, but it didn’t stop you from wishing that the man could take at least one well earned vacation without it being interrupted by bio-terrorism.

At least with Chris being away for a while, you had some time to make the new house feel a little more homey before he got back. As of now, you had only managed to unpack the essentials, a few kitchen boxes, some stuff from the master bathroom, and some sheets for the bed. The house itself was still a maze of bare walls, moving boxes, plastic wrapped furniture (unfortunately including your bed frame) and stray bubble wrap.

That, along with the usual worry-induced insomnia that always gripped you when Chris was called away on an extended mission, led to you setting up to paint at 8 o’clock at night.

You had decided to make a night of it, cracking open a cheap bottle of wine, the only one you had that was twist-off since you had no earthly idea where your bottle opener was hiding in the mess of boxes, and dragging out the old boombox to keep you company. You popped in one of the mix CD’s you made back in college and cranked the music up just loud enough to avoid pissing off your new neighbors.

About an hour into painting, you were half tipsy and partially covered in paint, but you were actually having fun and had managed to make decent progress, completing two of the four walls. Your first CD of the night ended, so you took another swig of wine straight from the bottle and selected a new one.

As a new song played and you picked the paint roller back up, your two dogs started barking from where they were sequestered in the other room. You didn’t think much of it since they had been outside recently and been going off at every little noise all day, still not quite comfortable in their strange environment. You knew the doors were all locked and bolted, so you just let them get it out of their system and went back to work with a shrug.

A decision you’d come to regret when you soon felt a hand on your shoulder.

You shrieked and spun around, brandishing the paint roller as a makeshift weapon. The intruder dodged at the last second, narrowly avoiding a bright splat of turquoise across the chest. Your heart beating wildly, your legs almost gave out when you recognized the man standing in your living room.

“Easy there,” came your husband’s familiar rumbling voice, his hands outstretched towards you like he was trying to approach a particularly feisty feral cat.

“God, Chris! You scared the shit outta me,” you dropped the roller, not bothering to look where it landed, and launched yourself into his waiting arms.

He laughed, catching you and lifting you off your feet. “Baby, you are covered in paint!”

“I don’t care. You’re home,” you said into his neck, your body relaxing for the first time in days as you inhaled his scent. He was still wearing his travel-rumpled uniform and probably hadn’t showered in days, but you didn’t mind. He was alive and back where he belonged, that was all that mattered.

“Mmm yes I am. I like what you’ve done with the place,” he quipped, craning his neck around you to survey the half-painted, mostly empty living room. The only furniture that had made it in so far was the sectional couch, still covered in plastic to protect it from any stray paint. You had also set-up a lopsided ‘table’ out of boxes to hold your boombox and half empty wine bottle. It was a far cry from the clean, perfect household you had planned on welcoming him home too.

“Hey,” you whined, shimmying back down to your feet and pulling away to put your hands on your hips. “Don’t mock the process. I’ve been working my butt off to-”

“I hope not,” Chris interrupted, reaching around and groping your ass through your shorts.

You laughed and smacked him in the chest. “You’re a real comedian tonight, huh?”

He bent down and kissed you, and you lost yourself in the feeling for a moment. “I’m anything you want me to be, baby.”

You hummed and wrapped your arms around his neck, letting him pick you back up and going limp in his arms. His lips found your neck and started to leave a series of soft, wet kisses from your jawline to your collarbone. You sighed contentedly. “I just want you to be Chris. I missed him.”

“He missed you too.”

Chris took a deep breath, the action making his chest press even more firmly against yours. This was what he loved most about coming home, even back when home was your old cramped apartment. Being able to leave Captain Redfield and the BSAA and whatever horrors he had faced in the field behind, and just be Chris again. Wrapped in your arms, everything was simple. He was just yours. Your husband. He wondered if that would ever get old, and hoped to god it didn’t.

Fingers playing with the short hair on the nape of his neck, you pulled back so you could see his face. “You need anything, hun? We don’t actually have any food yet, but I could order something. There are a few places nearby that should still be open.”

Chris shook his head. “Nah, I’m good. This,” he leaned down and pressed his lips to yours again, his arms tightening around you. “This is everything I need.”

You felt your heart clench and used your hands on his neck to bring him back down for another, deeper kiss. He hummed, coaxing you to open your lips so he could slip his tongue in to tangle with yours. A rush of heat whooshed down between your legs.

“I need you too,” you breathed after separating for air. Chris’ eyes went dark.

“I know, baby. Let me take care of you.” Two strong hands cupped your ass and hoisted you up higher until you instinctively wrapped your legs around his waist. He turned and headed for the wrapped-up couch. “My poor wife, I promised her she wouldn’t be able to walk after our honeymoon and didn’t come through. I need to make it to you, don’t I?”

A sudden surge of arousal stole your voice and you could only nod as Chris sat down on the arm of the couch. He moved you effortlessly until you were settled, straddling one of his muscular thighs. You could feel the heat from his body through your flimsy gym shorts and didn’t bother to hold back a moan.

“You’re so pretty like this, dressed down, no make-up, paint in your hair.” He reached up and tugged at some strands of your ponytail that must have gotten in the way while you worked. You smiled sheepishly. “And I gotta be the luckiest person in the world to be the one to come home to you.”

You felt flushed at his words. “I love you so much.”

Chris kissed you as a response and you got the message as clearly as if he had spoken it. You felt his adoration in the way his hands roamed your body, caressing you gently and finding all the familiar spots that made you shiver. Your own hands shot out to his shoulders, anchoring yourself as the fire he was building inside of you slowly began to ramp up.

Desperate for more, you rocked forward as he continued to kiss you, making you gasp against his mouth as the movement dragged your core against his leg, your underwear and shorts putting delicious pressure on your clit. Chris swore, using his hands to guide your hips into moving again and again until your body took over and you started to ride him in earnest.

You frowned. Chris had quit smoking back when you first started dating, however he had taken it back up this year and you hated it. Mostly because you knew it was due to stress from his job and he refused to talk to you about it. But he had only just gotten home and you wanted this blissful moment to last as long as possible. You bit your tongue and saved the usual argument for another day. "Don't be too long."

"Don't worry, I'm not done with you tonight yet." He pressed a quick kiss to your forehead and walked off. You couldn't help but laugh at the sound of him greeting the dogs from the other room. Chris had been against getting a pet at first, putting on a stern face and relenting only when you dragged him to the shelter and placed an adorable, wiggly puppy in his over-sized arms. You left that day with two and he'd been a huge softie for the pair ever since.

A similar story to when you first started dating, you mused as you laid out on the couch, the plastic sticking uncomfortably to your bare skin, but you couldn't muster up the energy to move. You also had to wear Chris down with your unbearable cuteness before he brought you home. When you had first met him, he had done little else in your presence but smoke cigarettes and brood.

You must have dozed off in your post-orgasm haze because the next thing you knew, your husband was gently shaking you awake. You stretched out languidly and moaned as some of your joints popped.

Yes, they’re all inspired by different fictional characters that have purple to them. No, these guys just rivals with edgy vibes because c h a o s. The “villains” part should really be in air quotes.

”Armor”:

*Literally just modified a replica of Agent 8’s power armor for fun. Also managed to give himself custom rocket boots. Yes, he loves building stuff.

*Actually has a helmet to go with the suit, but it’s not here.

*Mains a bunch of weapons, but the .96 Gal is easy for him to pose with. Loves Turf War just for the strategy aspect, which is why he’s the leader most of the time.

*Has, like, three sea bunnies at home. Yes, he loves them like they’re his kids. Probably named ‘em something like “Electra”, “Manta”, and “Eel”.

*Probably was a tech trainee before the Calamari Incantation finally got to him. Never reached the Metro Station, since that was only Agent 8’s thing.

“Bow”

*Has a crush on someone in the opposing Yellow Team. Tries to fight it getting in the way, but it doesn’t work half the time.

*Likes Turf War, but really plays defensive. Get him mad, though..

*Actually has a pair of embroidered wings on the back of his jacket. Turns out he really likes flying fish. Or anything with wings, really.

*Really just joined because his friends haven’t moved to Splatsville yet. He’ll make his own team when the time comes.

*Mains the Splat-Bow because he likes shooting from a distance.

”Melody”

*Can be caught singing to herself from time to time, but you’re more likely to find her dancing on the place where she splatted someone.

*Is the loudest of the bunch, which is surprising for an Octoling. Isn’t as loud as Pearl, but she can sure try to come close.

*Is definitely on the offensive, but she does tend to hide under the ink. Maybe because she likes the element of surprise? Or maybe she likes resting there, who knows?

*Mains Dualies because she likes a bit of flare. She isn’t that picky about what weapon she uses, though.

*Was a radio specialist for the Octos before the Calamari Incantation hit. Took her a while to leave, since she was determined to get a few family members to join.

“Striker”

*Has that nickname because she literally strikes people down with her roller. She tends to use the vertical swing rather than the horizontal.

*Can attack, but prefers to play defensive. Would have been a pro at Salmon Run if it was still a thing.

*Is the youngest of the group and is still in school… Whatever or wherever that is. She is still old enough to join this group.

*Is quiet and hardly talks. The upcoming ninja special might be very useful for her.

*Something has happened to her, though no one knows what it exactly is. This group is the only thing that keeps her from being affected by this strange mystery. ”Armor” guesses it’s leftover sludge from that underground subway, but he’s not sure if that’s correct.

Today is Siblings day!

I am four years older than my Sister. Let's just say...she is so much mature than me. Even though I have more videogame experience she has defeated a few bosses for me.

Here is a tale from my amazing Sister. Also some facts.

She passed the first part of "Metal gear solid" for me. One day at the grocery store, I had ran to the back to get something my Mom forgot. After I got it I wondered off. My Mom made my Sister find me. When she did, she told me she felt like Snake and was thinking about the music.

She can beat me in ARMS. Her favorite is Twintelle.

She mains King k. rool, Terry, Mii swordfighter and Sephiroth.

She makes very cool fashion styles in Splatoon 2 and her favorite weapon is the Splat Roller.

Me and her both agree that Chrom is cute.

She teased me about a keychain she got from Kirby Triple deluxe.

been playing splatoon again lately so i wanted to make some funky new squids(kids)

pink: Roller; either very aggressive or very chill. might jumpscare u blue: idk whatever weapon i feel like, just messing around and will party at any given chance yay purple: p-pwease i just wanna chill with my slosher/nzap/aerospray no fite [ends up racking up splats bc ppl keep picking a fight and im rly good with the buckets] red: the octobrush.

i havent rly named them but maybe ill just keep color names LOL

smaller deets include

-red is the only reason they do ranked matches. well, blue too but red encourages them to fight by carrying everyone -implying pink and blue are the same person saying smth like ”never saw both of them in the same room at once” is a very common joke, and yes, it is very dumb. so dumb only they laugh at it. its friend group inside joke kinda stuff -when you got splatted by that roller, don’t forget that pink is probably listening to cutesy jpop while doing it -blue is bad because he hasn’t found The Perfect Weapon yet. Or maybe he did, but he set the standard to be up so high he hasn’t realized what he is actually good with -yes, when asked who the best member of their team is, everyone will point to purple, despite red knowing very well that he is better(though they do question if that would remain the same if purple were to take a more aggressive approach) -kind of realized the octo girl hair looks more like what purple’s hair is like so i just went Youre Trans Now -if u remove the hat red’s hair goes Fwomp. (it might be tied but its obviously still a very tight fit)

Guess since I got the time now, I’ll explain a bit of Jackie’s time through Hero Mode and how she fared through it.

To start with, Jackie’s roommate, Melone, still had a contact back in the underground and heard that Callie is planned to get kidnapped. So she asked Jackie if she could bail the idol out because, well the Calamari Inkantation, and felt that she could pay her back in a way. Jackie allows this to happen, with the condition that she does not pursue the Great Zapfish if it happens to go missing as well. Someone else can go deal with that.

(Yes Jackie essentially said, save Callie only, fuck the zapfish though.)

This more or less failed, but not without Mel being able to send one final message: ‘Need help. Plan did not go as intended. Find the Squidbeak Splatoon, and become one of their agents. I can help you from the inside while I’m here. Sorry for not making it back like you asked.’

So with that in mind, Jackie made a stop by the square in Inkopolis to think over where a secret organization would even be. Until she saw the most visible person with an umbrella in the middle of the day. In a kimono. And it was goddamn Marie of the Squid Sisters. And no one is paying attention to this. At that point, after deliberating at how this organization hasn’t been found yet, Jackie goes inconspicuous and inches closer to the idol without letting her know that she know about the agents and whatnot. After seeing Marie dive into the grate beneath her, that was Jackie’s cue to follow.

During the trip, Jackie goes over her plan: Don’t tell Marie that she knows that it was Callie that got kidnapped as well. She doesn’t want to be questioned on her sources and potentially be labelled as either a foe or a nutjob not worth the position of agent.

After playing along with Marie, and making a joke at how no-one seems to know her, Jackie was all suited up and has become agent 4.

Skipping ahead to the first octoling kettle, Jackie notices something: not every octoling in the group was brainwashed. Not wanting to splat those who didn’t want to fight in the first place, she decides to take down the ones who were brainwashed and isolate the ones who weren’t. She would then fake their splatting and tell them to wait until everything is all clear.

This overtime caused a massive moral drop as more and more soldiers went missing. But due to Jackie stealthing those sections, it was hard to really nail down when and where she would strike. All the soldiers got for intel is that the agent may come your way at some point.

Her time with the octobosses went smoothly to say the least. Though every time a boss was defeated, Melone would have the time to send her an update, as well as which soldiers were free ones and those who weren’t. If there weren’t enough, then she would switch out a few as well, to make more go ‘missing’ and demoralize the military more.

By the time Jackie got to the 4th octoling kettle, she received the update that Mel managed to get both herself, as well as a squad of uncontrolled octolings, watch over the kettle. Meaning that Jackie can basically walk right in and take the mini zapfish, no questions asked. And she did. Albeit not without the issue of the one who wasn’t free from mindcontrol. It was dealt with quickly though, and Melone really just wanted to hang with Jackie over at home base for a bit. So under the guise of interrogation, Jackie brought all of them to the cabin base. Marie was not impressed at first, but figured that this can be useful.

After a bit of interrorgating, (and a pizza break) the truth unfortunately comes out: that Jackie from day one knew that Callie was kidnapped, as well as the great zapfish. Jackie could tolerate the jabs and insults, until Marie accused Melone of being cohorts with Octavio and that she is deceiving the agent.

That was one of the few times Jackie lost her temper.

After a high tension argument, Jackie went back to doing agent work and doesn’t care if Marie wants help from Melone or not. She’s what got her the information to everything going on inside the enemy zone in the first place.

Going forward to the final fight, Jackie is doing well against Octavio. At least until Callie herself decided to swoop in to take down the agent. That’s when things got harder. Callie was moving faster than usual, making her harder to hit, and the force of her roller wasn’t helping.

After an intervention by Melone and her groupies, Jackie went back to smacking on Octavio until the Spicy Calamari Inkantation started playing. Armed with the rainmaker, Jackie put an end to the military that stole the zapfish. And she got her friend back as well, so it works out even better.
