Zanza and picktish stones
So this is a picktish stone, which was made by the Picts in 6th-9th century Britain. There's no translation for the stones, and sadly it's a culture that's been mostly lost to history.
But when I stumbed on this picture honestly my first thought was "omg that looks like Zanza," and since the Giant culture in Xenoblade 1 was also lost and only has really old ruins it also just makes sense?
Anyways I was excited and now you can be too

No propaganda was submitted for the Friendship Laser
Submitted propaganda for Zanza's Monado
It looks so fucking stupid. Like a spaceship or something

Honestly there's a lot of comparasions I could make between Xenoblade and my other interests/fandoms (both Bionicle and non Bionicle related) but the absolutely funniest is how Zanza is basically just a fusion of Velika and Teridax.
Like he essentially is Velikas character concept/backstory mixed with Teridax's personality/motivations/goals and that's just extremely funny for me.

yandere zanza
pairing: zanza x gn!reader
tags: toxic relationship, kidnapping
zanza spotted the potential in you right away, to become his obedient little darling, who won't have the power to fight back against him
he knew that you wouldn't love him right away, that you wouldn't even like him, but he knew that with enough time he could change your mind!
once he got his hands on you, taking you far away and isolating you from everything you ever knew, he knew that it was only a matter of time until you'd get used to him
after all, he was the only person you got to be with and eventually you would begin to long a connection to anyone
zanza also had all the time in the world. whether it would take months, years or centuries – he could wait!
not only was he immortal himself, but he could also turn his precious darling immortal, so you couldn't even escape him through death!
eventually, you'd have to give in and talk to him, get to know him and begin to like him, since he was all that you had
and once that moment would come, zanza knew that he had you wrapped around his finger!

So I'm currently having Xenoblade vision and I wanna talk about a thing I noticed in Future Redeemed.
So when facing off against Shulk during The Oroboros Power, he's called Godcleaver.
Here's where it gets fun; so A Cleaver is a type of knife but referring to it as a means to Cleave, it's really interesting. Cleave means to split or severe. Basically calling Shulk, God Splitter. Which is a reference to the fact Shulk killed Zanza, a god.
But Cleave has a second meaning, stick or adhere. Which tells us that Shulk became a god after killing Zanza.
That's a really cool detail.
(Don't ask me about why Rex is called Southheart, I don't got any ideas.)

Thinking about trans Shulk Xenoblade again. Viewing him as transmasc honestly fits the story thematically. Shulk's arc is about him breaking free from the grooming of Zanza and breaking the restrictions the world has on people like him.
