Library Walks

Title: Library Walks Rating: General Major Warnings: None Summary: Zed and Brie spend some time to hang out, be normal teenagers, and have a small argument over the problems of Practitioner society.

As it turns out, I am the literal first person to tag anything on Ao3 as Brie/Zed. I am also the literal first person to use the character tag for Brie at all. I feel like a groundbreaker here.

Clementine/Zed

Truly, why would you do this to Brie, and Clem's own partner (who has shown grace and wisdom by not letting themself appear in the story)?

They have not, to my knowledge, talked, and I think this is probably for the best.

Zed would have trouble not telling Clem too much. This is not to say he's an idiot, but I can see him getting so eager to explain Clem's items to her, that he loses track of the protections her Innocence gives her from those items. He's a guy who believes in freedom of information, and Clem is starving for this information, but if you feed a starving person too much too quickly, they get sick and you've just made the problem worse. Zed would struggle with this also because he loves being able to play the hero, to be given the opportunity to really help someone out, but I worry he'd make Clem's life worse.

On Clem's side, I don't think she'd actually like her life to have more magic in it. She wants to understand her own circumstances, but, from what I remember, she wants to be able to live a fairly regular life. I think this is why she looked for dates outside of Sargeant Hall instead of inside it. Zed is very much involved in the magic side of things, and we see from the little home he shares with Brie that they have magic all around. In this, Clem's and Zed's homes look similar, but Clem's only looks that way out of necessity (Sharon making her home mundane is the only thing she might thank her for), whereas Zed's looks that way because he likes being surrounded by magic.

So, I think Zed might make Clem's life worse entirely on accident, and, if he doesn't, she won't ever be as casual and comfortable around magic as him, and I think that'd break their relationship regardless.

depends, he would have tried to rub elbows with the other belanger boys, doing the whole douchebag fuckboy routine, to the massive dissapointment of ray sunshine. i think alexander would have seen the potential in the kid and stole him from ray, he would have probably tried to keep the transphobia to a minimum amongst his cohort but also, you know, is not like he would have tried SUPER hard and any underhanded comments and what not would have been deemed perfectly acceptable.

after that zed would have been part of the frontline send to kennet to either investigate, sabotage or recruit the kennet trio. i could imagine lucy being very annoyed at him being a minority and still being a douche, avery would have her heart fucking broken that the first other member of the lgbt community she meets and looks kind of cool ends up being an asshole and verona would have been verona.

i could imagine a world where he meets brie, genuenly falls in love with her and this coupled with the girl's genuine efforts to try to reach up and make truce and at least try to work together with anyone ends up somehow redeeming him. i just cant imagine him as a completly rotten monstrous guy incapable of seeing reason.
