Reviving some old OCs as an exercise. This is Zephra, who I originally made back in 2018 or so, based on the myth of Iphigenia (specifically the version where she is saved by Artemis). Reference for the pose is by jookpubstock
This was initially supposed to just be a small character exploration (just these face sketches below), but I then wanted to make something more in the splash art style. I had a lot of fun redesigning her, and she'll hopefully make some reappearances later down the line!
Contributor Spotlight: With a flick of the tail, it's Zephra!
Zephra is the cover artist for 13 Days and is putting together something special that captures the atmosphere of the zine. Stay tuned for the cover reveal later! 🌕
See more of her art on Twitter and Instagram as @/ArtByZephra.

[Video description: An animation meme set to a slightly slowed version of the end of "I'd Rather Sleep" by Kero Kero Bonito, with a combination of frame-by-frame animation and tweening. It features Zephra, a thin, red-skinned tiefling woman with golden horns and eyes and black hair pulled back neatly. The first scene shows her hands as she pulls off a gold wedding ring. Her face is then shown, somber and with dark tear tracks, as she lip-syncs, "Now I know what's real, what's fake." Next, her forearm is shown as a tattoo in the form of an abstract black feather fades in over it. Now mostly shadowed and backlit in gold light, she lip-syncs, "Rather sleep than stay awake." As she does so, her eyes open to reveal that they are now black. Her hands are now shown again, holding a stack of papers, and a tear falls down onto the top paper. The camera zooms in on the paper to show handwritten text reading, "Subject 2." The next scene is in a much sketchier and uncolored style. It shows a younger Zephra holding hands with a young man as they smile at each other. Their eyes are crossed out. Inky blotches drop onto the scene to obscure it entirely. The final frame is of Zephra and the man, older once more, in bed. The man sleeps while Zephra sits up in bed, looking at him with suspicion. End description.]
