Why are people acting as if you have to be in the 1% to be considered rich??? That's not how it works. To be rich, you have to gain, per month, at least the double median net worth of households.

In France, if you make 3900€ per month, you are rich. That's not an opinion, it's what Insee (the French national institute of economic statistics studies) label as rich right now. Yes, the USA and France have a different cost of living, but I am pretty certain that the guys each makes more than the double median net worth of USAmerican households, I can say they make more than the equivalent of 4000€ per months.

Fellas, y'all just have a fucked view of what being rich is in the USA, y'all think one needs to make 2 millions per year to be rich (from this study). That's more than TWENTY times the median net worth of USAmerican households.

From the "eat the rich" country (and, actually, the people sang "kill the rich"), the guillotine country, I'm telling you, those guys are rich. And also, they weirdly proudly displaying the luxuries they can afford, the "eat the rich" they throw around is like a protection, it doesn’t sound genuine (see: Voidzilla's video where he cringes when Ryan says "Eat the rich" before showing off his brand new Nike proudly)

And let's not talk about y'all calling their videos, where they get drunk and read ghosts' stories from the internet, "art".

So I stumbled upon this thread about Vietnamese he/him lesbians musicians on twitter, and I have spent my whole evening digging into those discographies (they made a spotify playlist too). While my fave in the list so far is Gil Lê, I am a sucker for bossa nova sounds and I know this one will loop in my headphones for a while.

These days I mostly discover new kpop songs around here, but I stumbled upon this one on twitter (again!) somehow, and I've been looping it non stop in the last two days. I love that little bass line/sound at the start, and that chorus really does it for me!

We're staying with women artists. I love her voice, and the way she transition between singing and rapping. I am not (yet) very familiar with her work but I've been loving this one a lot.

Chosen Family by Rina Sawayama & Elton John

Guess who has two thumbs and hasn't recovered from She Loves to Cook and She Loves to Eat?? This song is just beautiful, and while I still have a slight preference for her solo version, I've also been listening to this duo a lot.

Antinoüs by Hervé Cristiani

Yeah, I'm afraid there was no way to get out of this one without a slightly weird/unknown French song. This one has wormed its way into my brain since the start of the month. It's about Emperor Hadrien's grief after the death of his young lover Antinoüs. I really like his voice, and I find the lyrics especially poetic.

So this morning I ended up reading multiple posts about Boston’s character and relationship with sex (as one does), and it became striking that no one was talking about his dad’s line of work.

While we don’t know much about his background in general, Cheum points out he will inherit his dad’s massage parlors.

There is a strong assumption in western cultures that (asian) massage parlors also serve as front for sexwork industries (insert all the warnings here about the oversexualisation of asian women, the stereotypes surrounding them, exoticism…). I don’t know if that’s the road chosen by Only Friends, or if the Thai makes it clearer it’s exactly the kind of business alluded to, but until proven wrong and, because of the nature of the show, I’ll stick with that assumption for now.

But I’m still mostly left with questions. I want to know how being in close relationship with such an industry has impacted Boston’s relationship with sex, how it gives in his view of disposable partners, of having one/multiple favorites, of lying to his lovers… and also on how it traps him between who he is deep down, who he thinks he is and who he wants to be.

Not to be a boomer but to me, the golden age of French YouTube was when Youtubers would stop their video every now and then to go all in on the silly short-film vibe.

It was cool, sincere and fun. The French were really good at that. Ya don't see anything as passionate nowadays.

Does anyone ever think of a Youtuber/modern AU ??? Because I do ?? The Party having a shared youtube channel for their DnD that went into a hiatus for a long time for varius raison. They all have their own account were they talk about different things.

Nancy do tipss for studying efficiently with relaxing song and then randomly there's some shooting video popping up.

Jonathan has an instagram but otherwise no youtube channel. He appears in video of others peoples sometimes.

Steve and Robbin didn't have any channel on either Twitch or Youtube but started doing live and posting best of of their live. I see them a bit like Wankil. They also have a second channel were they post video and shorts of The Party shenanigans that went viral.

Joyce also has a channel, she's a Mama Tuber, like those channel of Dads teaching things to people or that one grandma on twitch who does Minecraft ?But Joyce does idk DIY and hardware.

Same things with Hellfire but they have a bigger following and other active social media account. And of course The Corroded Coffin official account. Also Eddie is feral on Twitter etc

All of them doing random video like Amixem does (or Mr. Beast ? Idk I watch french youtube because its the superior shit)

They started recording things the day after Will disapeared (it reassured their parents in a way) and somehow the videos got out on an account called Stranger Things and it went VIRAL, everyone thinks it's CGI. Some elements never got out like how Barbara died, the whole Lab things, names etc ;people thinks they just got inspired of doing this to cope or something with the disapearance of their friends and so called-death. The government didn't do anything because yk hiden in plain sight is better than hiding. If people thinks it's CGI ... Why bother? They still gave NDA left and right. They don't know who started the account but they all share it. It's not really thrilling to have the whole world watching their trauma thinking it's fake but it's help to cope to share it.

Internet debating on their lovelife because it's funny ? Them reacting to fanfic. Steve and Eddie interacting with video with so much tension that their viewers eat up like starving animal. Idk

not kpop but you said you’ve done work in theater/musical theater right? what are some of your favorite shows?

my undergrad degree is in production design, i don't just work in theatre i went to theatre SCHOOL lmao. i did musical theatre for all four years of high school too. my fave musicals are hadestown, chess, phantom, and i looooove the original version of cats. i'm also kinda partial to the lord of the rings musical. and i know it's a mess but you can pry love never dies out of my cold dead hands that show is GORGEOUS. oh and roméo et juilette: de la haine à l'amour. favourite shakespeares are mackers, the tempest, and twelfth night. i've unsurprisingly seen (and read) a lot of plays; a small selection of the ones that were very formative for me are sarah ruhl's eurydice (saw a production that singlehandedly convinced me to go to theatre school), tennessee williams' cat on a hot tin roof (i love this play so fucking much, i did it for my third year directing class), and tom stoppard's arcadia + rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead (read both of these in high school lit class). there's a ton of really small scale stuff that's been very influential on me also, but i won't get into that bc it will either doxx me instantly or no one will know what i'm talking about.
