A3! Event Story Translation “NEW ERA GARDEN” [Chapter 4]
An episode dedicated to Kasumi's feelings about his role and his past as a leader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kasumi
“Toshi-san, there’s this interesting rumor I’ve heard from an older lady.”
It’s hard to get the intonation right… The emphasis should be here…
“Kondo-san, I’ll stand guard here! I won’t let anyone escape!”
Kaede
Papa, are you playing as a woman?
Tsubaki
Or are you playing a guy?
Sakura
Which is it~?
Kasumi
Uh… Actually…
Tumblr media
Kasumi
…Y-Yukio-san, this… is a mistake, right…?
Yukio
It’s not.
Kasumi
Eeh!? B-but I can’t believe I’m the only double cast…
Yukio
As for you, I wanted to see you play as both Kimigiku and Todo Heisuke.
You played Lady Shizuka in “Traces of a Dream” already, and just playing the beautiful Kimigiku is boring, isn’t it?
And I also want as many people as possible for the Ikedaya incident scene.
Kasumi
No, no, no, no way! I wouldn’t care much if it’s just a female only role, but I’ve been blank for too long and yet you already want me in the Ikedaya fight…!
It’s like a neighborhood kid getting caught in a gang leader fight!
Yukio
It’ll be fine. Yuzo said he’ll teach you.
Yuzo
…Yeah. Leave it to me. I’ll put you through the Shinsengumi hazing process.
Kasumi
!!!
Tumblr media
Kasumi
(...Yuzo looked like a complete bully that time.)
This time, papa will play as two people, two roles at once, it’ll be a lot of work.
Kaede
You should practice a lot, then. Kaede and her friends always practice a lot of dances at the nursery.
Tsubaki
Do it everyday. You have to get it right.
Sakura
You’ll be able to do it after enough practice.
Kaede
Let’s play over there so we don’t get in the way.
Tsubaki
Okie!
Sakura
Good luck, papa~.
Kasumi
T-thanks…
…Sigh.
*He flips the page*
(In the other play I acted as Lady Shizuka after a long while of not playing female characters, and I got a lot of compliments from a lot of people. I'm looking forward to playing Kimigiku.)
(The only problem is Todo Heisuke… Hopefully… I’ll get the hang of it after some practice.)
(Now that I think about it, I remember the first time I was on stage there were three sword fights, it was a mess…)
Tumblr media
“...Haah, haah, my bad…”
I’d be on my knees at first, it was hard to get up.
My body ached everywhere and my body felt heavy like steel.
It was as if the gravity only changed around me and pulled me down.
“...If the leader’s gonna be like this, there’s nothing to discuss, shouldn’t we just replace this guy?”
Syu-san’s bluntness and arrogance was nothing out of the ordinary, but it struck my heart this time.
I was pathetic and remorseful, I couldn’t even get myself to face them.
It was the first time I was assigned a role where I had to fight.
No matter how much I practiced, no matter how slow I took my time, I couldn’t reenact the movements properly at all.
I looked like I was doing a Lantern festival dance instead of having the form of a swordsman.
It’s no wonder that Syu-san, who taught it, was dismayed.
“Alright well, let’s leave the fight scene at that for today before you get hurt.”
I heard Yukio-san’s gentle voice interrupt and just bowed my head, devastated by my own shortcomings.
“...”
Yuzo looked at me like he wanted to tell me something, but with the state of my mind, I couldn't take another word, I left the rehearsal room as if to escape.
“...Today’s the day I’ll get it right.”
The next morning, I was determined and went to the rehearsal room early.
“Well, aren't you early?” “Eh, Yuzo? Why are you…”
Immediately after that, he threw a wooden sword at me and Yuzo told me to prepare myself.
“Get in form.”
Subconsciously, I handled the wooden sword as Syu-san had taught me.
“Try to move the same way as I do.”
“But, Yuzo, your role…”
“I already got your movements memorized in my head. Try to keep up the pace.”
“—T-thanks.”
Repeating it over and over and adjusting the speed, eventually I got it right for the first time.
“Yes! Finally!”
I was able to keep up with the other members at the same pace.
The joy of being able to do something I couldn’t before welled up deep inside me.
“This is just the beginning. Go show Syu-san, that this role is yours alone.”
“...Yeah!”
Yuzo usually only smacktalks me, but he helps me out so casually like this when I’m going through something difficult.
He really is a reliable childhood friend.
As a way to show my gratitude for being helped like this,
I definitely made that role mine, and mine alone.
I made up my mind and got back into the flow of things.
Tumblr media
Kasumi
(Back then, I felt like I had to do my absolute best as the leader of the Spring Troupe.)
(...I wonder if Sakuya-kun also had a tough time with fight scenes.)
Rather, the upcoming play, Sakuya-kun might come to see it…!?
(He adores me as the first Spring Troupe leader, I can’t just show Sakuya-kun an unseemly sword fight.)
Sigh…
(I got no choice, I’ll just have to suck it up and ask Yuzo for help.)
(In the story, Kimigiku supports the Shinsengumi from the shadows, meanwhile Todo Heisuke leaves the Shinsengumi later.)
(It overlaps with my desire to support MANKAI Company in the shadows in different ways despite my departure from the theater.)
…You really are amazing, Yukio-san.
(Honestly, you’re like a wizard.)

A3 - Event Story - Nomadic Bartender (1/11)
Tumblr media
Customer A: A gimlet, please.
Guy: Coming right up.
Customer B: The way you make drinks is rather beautiful.
Customer A: Yes, I agree. Every movement is so smooth.
Customer B: When you mix a cocktail, it looks like you're casting a magic spell.
Customer A: It's a real joy to watch.
Guy: Thank you very much. Here is your order.
Syu: ...
Guy: Welcome.
Syu: I think I'll have a Gibson today.
Guy: All right.
Syu: The winter troupe's next show is coming up, isn't it?
Guy: Yes. Preparations are beginning soon. Please come see our performance if you can.
Syu: As I recall, the spring, summer, and autumn troupe rookies each got to play the leads again in their most recent performances. Which means you're next.
Syu: I'll definitely come see the bartender who always makes such delicious drinks take center stage.
Guy: ... I look forward to it.
Syu: You know, even though this bar has a lot of customers, it still manages to have a calm atmosphere.
Syu: I'm thinking about stopping by with an old acquaintance of mine next time. He used to be my father's assistant.
Syu: He left the troupe after my father died and we fell out of touch, but we happened to reconnect recently.
Guy: I see. Then, please feel free to come here together any time.
---
Tsuzuru: Okay, we know that Guy will be the lead in our next play. Now we need the theme...
Tsuzuru: Is there anything in particular you want to do, Guy?
Homare: I'm sure he has something in mind. After all, Guy has become a wonderful theater junkie since our fourth performance.
Guy: I have been thinking about it for a while, since I knew I would be the lead for this play ahead of time.
Guy: If possible, I'd like the play to be about a bartender.
Izumi: A bartender?
Guy: I opened Journey because, like Citronia, I wanted to share Zafra's culture with everyone. But now I also feel like it's an important part of who I am.
Guy: It's something I would like to bring to the stage, as well.
Tsumugi: A bar setting suits the winter troupe's mature atmosphere.
Tasuku: I can easily picture Guy in a role like that as he is now.
Izumi: Since our last winter troupe play also focused on a specific job, we should be clear about what sets this one apart.
Tsuzuru: What if we add another element to it?
Izumi: Like bartending plus a food stand? Wait, that sounds like a manga or something...
Tasuku: What about bartending and battles?
Hisoka: Recently, there was a customer who said that Guy's cocktails were like magic.
Tsuzuru: Bartending and magic... a magical bartender sounds pretty interesting, doesn't it?
Homare: Indeed. The winter troupe doesn't usually dabble in fantasy.
Azuma: I think Guy has a mysterious, almost mystical air about him that suits a magician or wizard.
Tasuku: Sounds good to me.
Tsumugi: I agree. It's definitely a different approach than Blanc the Florist.
Tsuzuru: Great. Let's move forward with this, then.
Izumi: We're counting on you!
Guy: I'm looking forward to the script.
Izumi: It's been a while since Guy has played the lead role. He seems pretty excited! I wonder what kind of performance this will be?
---
Guy: ...
Azuma: I haven't seen that charm in a while.
Guy: I wanted to let my father know that I'll be playing the lead role in our next performance.
Azuma: I see...
Guy: It may be impossible right now, but I hope I can tell him directly some day.
Azuma: I'm sure your feelings are reaching him.
Guy: ... You're right.

A3! Mikage Hisoka | SSR - Happy ☆ Decoration | Translation
Tumblr media
Quote: “It’s an ice cream cushion, but it’s fluffy like a marshmallow. I feel so good, like if I’m in heaven… Zzz.”
Thanks, Tableturret for your help with a line!! (´。• ᵕ •。`)
--------------------------
Disclaimer: Neither English nor Japanese is my native language, but I did my best with the translation. If you find any mistakes, feel free to tell me. By the way, Director’s name will be Izumi.
The Ice Cream Cake Mystery /1
Tumblr media
Passerby A: Oh, there’s a new store!  Passerby B: Hmm, a candy store?  Hisoka: … Hisoka: (...Will they have marshmallows?) Hisoka: …Ah.  Hisoka: (There’s an ice cream cushion in front of the store…) Hisoka: …!  Hisoka: (Wow, it’s so fluffy. It feels like a marshmallow.) Hisoka: (I want to sleep with it… I need this cushion.) -He enters the store- Employee: Welcome to our ice cream specialty store!  Hisoka: …So they didn’t have marshmallows.  Employee: Huh? Marshmallows? Hisoka: It’s nothing. …I want the cushion placed outside.  Employee: Ah, that’s our stamp card exchange prize. It will be yours after collecting ten stamps!  Hisoka: Stamps… How do I get them?  Employee: You need to buy an entire cake to get a stamp!  Hisoka: Then… I want this ice cream cake here.  Employee: Of course, thanks for your purchase!  Hisoka: (Nine left to get the fluffy cushion… I’ll do my best.)
Tumblr media
Hisoka: Zzz… Taichi: Sakkun, whose birthday is today?  Sakuya: No one’s, I think. Why are you asking?  Taichi: There’s an ice cream cake in the freezer! Not a slice, a whole cake!  Sakuya: A whole cake?  Sakuya: Maybe I forgot it, and today is someone’s birthday…?  Tsumugi: Is there something wrong, you two?  Taichi: Ah, Tsumugi-san! Is someone’s birthday today!?  Tsumugi: Huh? I’m pretty sure none of us has their birthday today.  Sakuya: I wasn’t wrong, after all.  Taichi: Then, what about the ice cream cake?  Hisoka: …I bought it.  Tsumugi: Ah, you were sleeping here, Hisoka-san.  Taichi: So Hisoka-san brought it?  Hisoka: Yes. …I’m going to eat a bit. Do you want a slice too?  Sakuya: Can we take one?  Hisoka: Mhm. I might not be able to eat alone. It’s an entire cake, after all.  Taichi: I see. Then I’ll gladly take a bite.  Tsumugi: Since an ice cream cake is lighter, you might finish it with four people.  Sakuya: Thanks! Now I take a bite. …Ah, it’s pretty good!  Hisoka: It’s sweet and tasty. Taichi: It’s mostly ice cream. So I can eat more and more of it!   Tsumugi: Fufu. There won’t be more before we notice it. Taichi: Thanks for giving us a bit of this delicious cake, Hisoka-san! Hisoka: My pleasure.
Tumblr media
Employee: Welcome… Oh, I remember you from yesterday!  Hisoka: I want an ice cream cake.  Employee: Which one would you like today? Hisoka: I’ll take… this one.  Employee: Got it. Thank you! And here is your second stamp! Hisoka: Mhm.  Hisoka: (Eight left. There’s a long way to go…)
The Ice Cream Cake Mystery /2
Tumblr media
Izumi: I should start making dinner soon.  Izumi: (Ah, Juza-kun and Kumon-kun.) Kumon: Whose birthday is today?  Juza: Hm, I’m sure no one’s… Izumi: What’s wrong? Kumon: Ah, Director! Someone in the dorms has their birthday today?  Izumi: I think no one. Why?  Juza: There’s a delicious ice cream cake in the freezer.  Izumi: Huh? An ice cream cake…?  - They go to the kitchen - Izumi: Ah, you’re right. Who put it there, though?  Kumon: We can’t tell since there’s nothing written on it. Should I ask by LIME?  Izumi: Hmm, there’s space in the freezer. I think we can leave it there for now. Juza: Sounds good.  Kumon: Okay!  - At the next day... - Kumon: …And when I checked today, the ice cream cake was gone.  Azami: Someone ate it then. I guess the one who bought it.  Izumi: Ah, are you two going to school? Have a nice day, take care!  Kumon: We get going! Azami: See you later.  Izumi: (...So someone bought the ice cream with no particular reason than wanting to eat it.)
Tumblr media
Izumi: (Hmm, what should I make for lunch?) Hisoka: … Izumi: Ah, Hisoka-san. Do you need anything from the kitchen? Hisoka: Director. …I’m going to put this in the freezer. Izumi: Ah, that’s… an ice cream cake! Were you the one who put yesterday’s cake there too?  Hisoka: Mhm. I buy one every day to get a cushion.  Izumi: (A cushion…?) Hisoka: This is the third… I have to buy seven more.  Izumi: Really…?
Choose 1: Did you eat them alone?
Izumi: By the way, did you eat all these cakes alone?  Hisoka: Nope. The first one I ate it with Sakuya, Taichi, and Tsumugi.  Hisoka: Yesterday, I ate it with Arisu. …He was noisy reciting poems about the ice cream cake thought.  Izumi: So you’ve been eating them with everyone.  Hisoka: It’s too much to eat by myself.  Izumi: I can see that… it’s an entire cake, after all.
Choose 2: Do you buy that cake every day?
Izumi: By the way, do you buy the same cake every day?  Hisoka: Nope. It doesn’t matter as long it’s an entire cake, so I buy different ones.  Izumi: Ah, I see. There must be a great variety of types, right?  Hisoka: Mhm. Since their store just opened, they are trying out different types.  Hisoka: The employee looks happy when you order a new one. So I choose that one.  Izumi: (Hisoka-san is so kind. He even thinks of the employees when choosing the cake…)
Izumi: Well then, the ice cream cake mystery is now solved!  Izumi: I was curious about it. Juza-kun and Kumon-kun thought it was someone’s birthday yesterday.  Hisoka: Ah, Sakuya and Taichi said the same now that I remember.  Izumi: It seems like that’s their first thought when they see an entire cake.  Hisoka: My cakes are troubling them… that’s not good.  Hisoka: Do you have something to write, Director?  Izumi: There’s something here.  Hisoka: …Thanks.  - Hisoka is writing - Izumi: “Please help yourself”...?  Hisoka: It will be alright with this.  Izumi: I agree. No one will be dubious after reading it! Izumi: Ah, the cake might disappear while you’re not here with that sign, though. Are you okay with that?  Hisoka: I don’t mind. I’m not buying them because I want to eat them.  Izumi: I see. There’s no problem then.  Hisoka: I’ll write that sign again for tomorrow’s cake.  Izumi: Okay, don’t forget it!
The Ice Cream Cake Mystery /3
Tumblr media
Taichi: I know you wrote “please help yourself” on the ice cream cake. But can we really eat as much as we want!?  Hisoka: Yes. I’m going to buy another tomorrow.  Taichi: Sweet! Thanks, Hisoka-san!  Muku: Can I eat a slice too? Juza: Me too. I wanna eat one.  Hisoka: Sure.  Taichi: Then, let’s cut a slide for all of us! I’ll bring it here.  Citron: You’re cutting a slice of what?  Azuma: Fufu. We heard the puppy’s voice from the hallway.  Muku: We’re going to eat the ice cream cake Hisoka-san bought.  Citron: I want to eat it too!  Taichi: I brought it… huh!? More people are here!  Taichi: It should be enough, though. It’s a whole cake Kazunari: Everything okie dokie, then! Hisoka: I have to work now. You don’t need to keep me a slide, so eat them together.  Juza: Thanks.  Citron: Thank you~!  Muku: Would you like to eat with us too, Azu-neesan?  Azuma: Thanks. I will take a slice.  Hisoka: I have to go out soon… I’m leaving for my work.  Taichi: Good luck at work!  Kazunari: Take care out there, Hiso Hiso!
Tumblr media
Hisoka: Zzz… Omi: There’s nothing left of the ice cream cake again today? Tasuku: Yeah. It’s a first come, first served, I guess.  Omi: It looks like those who come back late can’t eat it.  Itaru: Well, there are many people in the dorms. Of course, it will end quickly.  Hisoka: …I will buy more in the next few days.  Omi: Ah, Hisoka-san. Sorry, did we wake you up?  Hisoka: No, don’t worry. I’ll fall asleep again soon.  Tasuku: However, why are you buying ice cream cakes daily, Mikage? Hisoka: There’s something I want… Tasuku: Something you want?  Hisoka: Zzz… Omi: He truly fell asleep in a bit.  Itaru: I guess it’s a rare item since he can’t get it unless he buys an entire cake daily.  Omi: What could it be for him to come this far?  Tasuku: We’re talking about Mikage. It must be about marshmallows.  Itaru: Yeah, I vote for something related to marshmallows too.  Omi: Haha. I think the same as you two.  Hisoka: Zzz…
Tumblr media
Hisoka: (I will get the cushion after today’s purchase…)  Employee: Ah, welcome! Thanks for coming every day.  Employee: There’s an ice cream cake I would like to suggest to you today, dear customer. Here is our ice cream cake with marshmallows!  Hisoka: …! Employee: Actually, I’ve thought about making one since the first day you came and mentioned it.  Hisoka: Ah, I see. Then, I want to buy this cake.  Employee: Sure, thank you!  Employee: And congratulations! Here is your cushion for collecting all the stamps!  Hisoka: Thanks.  Hisoka: It’s finally mine… I’m so happy.
Tumblr media
Hisoka: (The ice cream with marshmallows was so tasty… I ate it alone since it had marshmallows.) Hisoka: (The cushion feels pretty fluffy, too. It’s perfect for sleeping on it…) Muku: What flavor will it be today?  Kazunari: Who knows, every day is different~!  Juza: Yeah, all of them are tasty, though.  Taichi: They are a free-for-all. I haven't been able to get a single slice lately... Kazunari: The cake is still there around this time. I guess you can eat a slice today.  Taichi: Yeah, I’ll go to check the freezer right now! Hisoka: … Kazunari: Huh? Taichi: There’s no cake!  Muku: Maybe someone already ate it… Juza: I don’t know about that.  Taichi: Ah, Hisoka-san! There’s nothing left from today’s cake?  Hisoka: No.  Taichi: Buuh, I knew it. I hope tomorrow comes soon…  Hisoka: There won’t be more ice cream cakes.  Taichi: What!? Hisoka: I already completed the stamps and got the cushion.  Juza: Oh, I see… Taichi: Buuh, and here I thought I could eat it tomorrow~ but there won’t be more…  Juza: …We just have to buy it ourselves.  Taichi: Ah, that’s an option too! Tell me when you’re going there!  Juza: Sure thing.  Kazunari: So you bought all those ice cream cakes to get that cushion, Hiso Hiso?  Hisoka: Yeah.  Muku: That cushion looks pretty soft!  Hisoka: Mhm. It’s fluffy like a marshmallow.  Hisoka: (...I’m glad to have gone to the shop and have done my best all these days.)
---------
Translator notes: This was a long and (a bit) hard-to-translate backstage. I had to rearrange some lines to make them sound natural. I hope they came out well...
By the way, this is one of my favorite backstages. I hope you enjoy it too! (´。• ᵕ •。`)

A3! Chikage Mini Talks Translation “Ah, My Dearly Beloved”
Learning Heia period trivia with Chikage and a challenge with Sakyo
Tumblr media
Mini Talk 1
Tumblr media
Chikage
In the Heian period, people usually only gave their real names to those who were close to them. You’d rarely even get a glimpse of someone’s face.*
Even the main character in “The Tale of Genji”, Hikaru Genji, uses a common name.
They’d communicate with letters and waka poems, and when they visit each other’s homes to talk face-to-face it’d be through formal speech. You’d have to use your imagination and guess what kind of person who you’re talking to is.
If you ask me, that’s pretty useful in a lot of ways I think.
How come?
…I wonder, who knows.
Mini Talk 2
Tumblr media
Chikage
I’m thinking of making an Autumn-themed curry palette.
It’d be nice to add some mushrooms or other autumnal ingredients, maybe even add grapes or chestnuts as a secret ingredient.
It should still be sufficiently spicy, of course. I wonder which spices I should use.
I’ll consult with the Spicy Cuisine Research Society too. Citron comes up with some surprisingly interesting ideas.
The taste of autumn and spices will come together beautifully. I’ll make a mean curry for you, so you can count on me, Director-san.
Mini Talk 3
Tumblr media
Chikage
I’m not exactly big on romance novels, when it comes to stories from the Heian period however… ethically, I find it questionable; personally, I find it intriguing.
The very customs of love and marriage were determined and influenced by one’s values and background back then. It was pretty interesting for me to learn about it.
Like how someone would marry for the sake of the family, and they’d grow richer in doing so.
…I figured those kinds of values suit me. It’d still be a pain in the ass, though.
Well… someone that loves spices like I do, good-natured, a bit of a mess and worth protecting——.
If there was a noblewoman like a certain someone like that somewhere, I might be willing to be by her side.
…Kidding.
Chikage & Sakyo talk
Tumblr media
Chikage
Ah, Sakyo-san, just who I was looking for.
Sakyo
…What do you want?
Chikage
I was planning on doing Hyakunin Isshu* for role-building, now I’m looking for someone to compete with me.
Could I ask you to be my rival?
Sakyo
It could’ve been anyone else, doesn’t have to be me.
Chikage
Oh don’t say that just yet, I didn’t say it’ll be for free. …Hear me out first.
*Chikage whispers something to Sakyo*
Sakyo
!
…Stay true to your word.
Chikage
Of course. I’ll even wrap it up in a plastic bag and hand it to you myself.
Sakyo
…Alright. I’ll bite.
Chikage
Pleasure doing business with you.
Sakyo
This is for role-building, you better not cut any corners.
Chikage
Go easy on me.
———— T/Ns: ————
What Chikage is talking about here is the tradition of women covering their heads or faces when faced with strangers during the Heian era; this is due to the patriarchy setting societal rules for women, this practice eventually dissolved as time and society progressed.
You can read more about it here. Another article with sources.
I’m guessing Chikage is talking about Hyakunin Isshu karuta competitions. Hyakunin Isshu refers to 100 specially selected waka poems from the Nara period to the Kamakura period. In a nutshell, karuta competitions involve reciting certain poem cards, and when they get to a certain point, you swat away the card. Whoever gets to it first wins, it’s a game of agility and discipline.

A3 - Event Story - Nomadic Bartender (2/11)
* = TL notes at the bottom of the post!
Guy: Haah... haah... are we there yet?
Guy's Father: Yep, here we are.
Guy: Wow, I can see so much of the town!
Guy's Father: It's a pretty good view from all the way up here.
*Guy: Oh, my shoes are untied.
*Guy's Father: Hm? You choose Mankai?
*Guy: No, I said my shoes are untied!
Guy's Father: Ah, I see. Right. Anyway, not a lot of people come here. It's your dad's secret spot.
Guy's Father: Hm, it should be passing by soon.
Guy: ?
Guy: Wow!
Guy's Father: Huge, right?
Guy: Yeah! Way more huge than my model plane!
Guy's Father: The airport's not far from here. Real planes are even more huge when you see one up close.
Guy: That's so cool. I want to try riding in one.
Guy's Father: You'll definitely get to someday. We'll go to the country where your mother was born.
Guy: When's someday? During next summer vacation?
Guy's Father: Ah, well, that might be a little soon.
Guy's Father: If I keep saving money, I might be able to make something work by the time Guy finishes elementary school...
Guy: Then, can we come here again? To see the plane?
Guy's Father: Sure thing. We'll come here together again, I promise.
---
Guy: ...
Guy: A nostalgic dream... I wonder if it's because I spoke to the charm yesterday.
Guy: I can feel the warmth from that memory... a memory I thought was gone forever, but maybe the charm helped bring it back.
Guy: Ever since I got that model plane for my birthday, I became interested in airplanes. My father brought me all the way out there just so I could see a real one.
Guy: I wonder if that promise can ever be fulfilled...
Guy: If so, maybe it would also be possible for my father to see me perform on stage someday.
---
Syu: Yo.
Guy: Welcome.
???: ...
Guy: Who might this be?
*Syu: This is Tohru, my father's former assistant.
Guy: Welcome in. It's a pleasure to meet you.
Tohru: ...
Syu: What's the matter?
Tohru: Ah, no... it's nothing. Just feeling a little timid now that I'm here.
Tohru: I've actually been curious about this bar for a while, but I never had the courage to come in. So I'm thankful for the invitation.
Syu: Oh, so you already knew about this place.
Tohru: Well, I'm interested in Zafran cuisine. It's rather rare around here, isn't it?
Guy: It is, yes.
Syu: You're a popular, well-regarded producer now. I'm sure you get plenty of invitations to go drinking.
Tohru: Haha, I suppose it's still a little hard for me to take in. I didn't have much money when I was younger.
Guy: You're a producer?
Tohru: Yes. Before Syu's father took me in, I was an actor. But it didn't work out at all...
Tohru: Then, I became his assistant and helped with production work, too. I was able to make many valuable connections during that time.
Guy: (An acting career that didn't work out. He sounds like my father.)
Guy: (Now that I think about it, my father would be about the same age as this man. It's possible they were actors around the same time, even.)
Guy: It sounds like meeting Otomiya's father was an important turning point for you, then.
Tohru: Yes, absolutely. I believe everyone has a place or position in this world that best suits them.
Guy: I wonder if my father ever found that for himself...
Tohru: Are you interested in theater?
Guy: Yes, I'm actually an actor.
Tohru: Oh, is that so!
Syu: He'll be the lead in an upcoming play. Would you like to go?
Tohru: Absolutely. Which theater company?
Guy: The Mankai Company. Do you know it?
Tohru: ...
Tohru: ... Yes, I do. How nostalgic. That troupe has been around for a long time.
Tohru: Years ago, just after they were first established, I went to see one of their plays with my son.
Guy: ...
Guy: ... He went to see the Mankai Company with his son... ? No, he can't be...
Syu: Oh, I didn't know that. The Mankai Company's one of my old haunts.
Tohru: I never mentioned it to you before, did I. It wasn't a play you performed in, after all.
Syu: Ah. Which play did you see back then?
Tohru: Hmm, it was--
Guy: ...
---
Tohru: It's getting late. I should be heading home, or my family will be worried.
Tohru: I feel so comfortable here that I lost track of time just chatting away.
Syu: It's great, right? You should become a regular here.
Tohru: If I can gather up my courage to come back by myself. Would it be all right if I stopped by again?
Guy: ... Yes, any time.
---
Guy: ...
Hisoka: ... Guy, you've been wiping that same glass for a while now.
Guy: ... So I have.
Hisoka: Did something happen? You've been a little weird since Syu came.
Guy: No, it's nothing. Don't worry about it.
Hisoka: ...
---
Guy: ...
Azuma: Talking to your father again?
Guy: No, not this time. Not exactly.
Azuma: Is that so?
Guy: ...
Guy: (There's too much overlap with my father. Could he really be... ?)
Guy: (I could ask for his full name. Wait, he said he has a family.)
Guy: (If that family includes a son, that would be who he saw the Mankai Company play with.)
Guy: (Or, after he and my mother divorced, he started a new family...
Guy: (In that case, I would only cause trouble for him if I tell him I'm his son.)
Guy: (I've thought a lot about the possibility of meeting my father again some day, but I never imagined something like this would ever happen...)

TL Notes
Citron-style jokes are hard... I did my best haha. If you're curious about the original joke/pun/whatever you call it, young Guy says でも、草がぼうぼう… (demo, kusa ga boubou... | but the grass is all overgrown...) and his dad goes ん?春夏秋冬? (n? shunkashuutou? | Hm? The four seasons?)
Not 100% sure Tohru's name is read this way. I believe it's the most common reading, but other possibilities include Tetsu, Akira, Osamu, and Itaru... well, the last one is pretty unlikely in this case!

Ok but seriously though
Is there any way to read act 12 of A3 in English? Even just a summary of what happens would be enough
