Many cycles have passed since that day, the conflict over, but the Zeras still cower in fear over their paranoia of a returning combat. The streets of Dialary are light up with remembrance of the anniversary of the chilling event, the crunching of pebbles echoes under the boots of a Zera, his brunette hair stricken in front of his face, along with both pairs of arms stuck solemnly in his pockets. As Hiata ventures his way back to his residence, rain trickles down the sides of the buildings around him that roll down his curled horns. The buildings slowly grow more tattered as he makes his way out of the city, as the stone street slowly turns into sand.

Hiata returns ‘home’ not a minute after 7:30, a bit early from his previous ventures. He sets his bag down on a table next to one of his housemates. “I don’t think I've seen you return before the sun sets” Aarvi mutters, too focused on her book to pay much attention before she speaks again, “You did actually get what Harlyn needs this time correct” Hiata mumbles out a soft ‘yeah’ in response and Aarvi nods. Hiata leaves the bag sat on the table for Harlyn and heads upstairs to his room. He doesn't bother Aarvi about food, her and Halryn probably already ate. He throws himself onto the bed, his hair falling around his head, and falls asleep.

Once the sun shines in through the crack in Hiata's window he sluggishly sits up and out of bed. He hears a bang coming from the floor below, and before he can think he rushes down the stairs. Halryn is too busy rummaging through cupboards like a mad man to even notice him. “Uhm- Halryn.. Something wrong?” Hiata asks timidly, “Of course somethings wrong haven't you been paying any attention to what happened this morning??” Halryn replies in a panicked tone. Hiata walks down the rest of the stairs, trying to avoid the miscellaneous wires thrown over the floors. “A ZAPC was reported to have been seen this morning around the Hall” Aarvi says, still looking through cabinets. “And you do know this scare happens like every year and it turns out to be some homeless fuck right?” Hiata responds nonchalantly. “It was confirmed, the guards saw their markings, besides we can’t ignore this” As Aarvi speaks she throws the handfuls of hardware onto the kitchen counter. “We’re missing a power source, I ordered one go pick it up while I work” Aarvi spews out “What are you even maki-” “Just go” She says already putting whatever project it is together.

By the time Hiata makes it into the city, the normally empty streets are filled with people trying to get to the Safe Houses or crowding around the large screens projecting the news outward. As he passes the crowds he skims his eyes over the monitor and the words ‘SEEK SHELTER/ NOT A PRACTICE’ shift over the screen, Hiata can’t help but walk a bit faster. He makes his way down his normal path to retrieve the battery, but he cant help but feel like he’s being watched, but he’s at the retrieving center before he can dwell on it too much. Hiata grabs the bag, no need to confirm who’s picking it up, he’s there too often. By the time he’s back to the main street its a ghost town once more, with all the windows covered and doors barricaded, Hiata walks through the path with his worry of being followed now off in the past. Right as Hiata exits the down town of the city, the blaring alarm sent off for the guards to make their rounds bursts with life. As he walks the alarms get noticeably louder once he reaches the Collection Stronghold, where the most influential individuals during the battle are kept to help maintain a form of peace in the city, the people never seemed to leave much, not a very good reassurance strategy. Back when the group was established they were always seen around the city, but the number of them has fallen, now they don’t leave, The Collection of the Honored, once so protected is now more forgotten than anything. Once again as Hiata walks the streets turn to sand and he makes his longer treck back to his house.

After what seemed like an eternity, he returns, the house looks even worse from the inside, and Harlyn is still working concerningly much. Hiata steps carefully through the wires that seemed to have grown since he left. “I got the piece.” He says and Halryn just holds her hand out as Hiata gives the bag to her. Then Aarvi walks back in through the front door. “It’s all set up for you Harlyn” Right as Aarvi says that, Halryn attaches the battery and a loud humming sound powers up before going to silent. Hiata looks back in-between the two women before asking, “So.. what did you even do” Harlyn replies not a moment later “I hid us, now that ZAPC won’t be able to reach us in here, no one comes in, and no one goes out.” Hiata takes a moment before responding “Don’t you think that's maybe a little overkill, we’re far enough out of Dialary, no ones commin’ out this way.” Harlyn ignores his comment and starts tweaking with the wires. After a few moments of silence, Hiata lets out an ‘ugh’ and leaves to go back to his room, neither of the others try to stop him.
