Crossover Question: If Dr.Octopus was in a Marvel vs Capcom game and had to make his own Sinister 6 with capcom villains, who do you think he would choose/who would you choose?

Traditionally the Sinister Six tend to comprise villains covering a wide range of types of threats Spider-Man goes up against, and they also can't be too big as individual villains otherwise because they're all supposed to be operating under at least one leader, usually Doc Ock, which is why you hardly ever seen Green Goblin or Kingpin in the Six unless they're the ones leading it instead. Trying to be as widespread as possible, here goes my picks counter clock-wise:

Vile: We need a Mega Man baddie, he's one of the most visually iconic of the bunch, he's traditionally Sigma's underling but we're not exactly trying to make iron-clad justifications for these. I think we could also argue that Doc Ock did some tampering with his circuits to win his loyalty or is promising him something in return so that he at least goes along with the plan before backstabbing them. Think he works nicely to fill that role filled in by Scorpion or Kraven, someone who is vile or dangerous or scummy even by the standards of the group, someone who helps keep the Sinister Six a oh-shit escalation of threat whenever it shows.

Abigail/Mech-Zangief: We need a Street Fighter character, we need dumb muscle, and we need at least one comic relief guy. The Sinister Six doesn't feel right without Rhino, so I'm elevating either one of these. Abigail is technically reformed but he's not exactly a "good guy", he's a disgruntled taxpayer trying to make ends meet who turns into a destructive rampaging beast at a moment's notice, which is Spider-Man villain territory already. I think we could include him or Mech-Zangief, as a way for Zangief to be in the team in spirit, a tribute to his kayfabe fame as a videogame bad guy that got him the spot in Wreck-It-Ralph's meeting.

Gran Bruce: We need at least one animal costume guy, a Spider-Man villain gathering is not complete without one, and it's good to have at least one guy who's kinda dumb and funny and not really much a threat until he might inexplicably be, sort of the Shocker of the group. I'm not too big on Viewtiful Joe and I could give or take this pick but he's a shark guy, that wins points with me.

Hanbei Takenaka: I think we need one villain who doesn't really fit the line-up, more of a handsome guy than a monster, someone who is bringing extra brains or tactics or weapons to the equation besides what Doc Ock brings. I almost included Vega for this reason but he's too specialized and we already have a major clawed villain, so instead this guy seems to be an interesting fit for contrast, like Martin Li or Hickman's Ultimate Black Cat.

Lady Dimitrescu: We need one Resident Evil villain and at least one more iconic villain besides Vile, and yes I know she is already fanatically loyal to another villain and already has a group, I know, but again, refer to Vile's section, these games don't exactly work on iron-clad character pairings, and if there's a character we need in a Marvel vs Capcom game stat it's her. She just feels right at home in a rogues gallery line-up (the Four Lords are such wonderful villains, they feel like characters you could throw into any series and have it work), and like Vile we need some actually dangerous villains and some villains who don't play nice and threaten to break the group of tiny pathetic stupid man-things beneath her, and she breaks away from the technological aspect by being a biological monster which is, again, definitely ground that needs to be covered. Out of everyone here, she's the one who I could most easily see actually fighting Spider-Man, joining the club of baddies who want to psychosexually tear him limb from limb. Only marginally less horny than Venom's whole deal.

Definitely taking suggestions on what other line-ups could be used for a Capcom Sinister Six, and which Capcom baddies could join.

as a historical fashion enjoyer the quarry's "1950s" DLC pack outfits are a bit 'modern people trying to put a vaguely '50s look together with modern clothes' looking to me (which may very well have been their intention!) but here's some ideas because i love to be extra:

emma inspired by casual marilyn monroe looks, but with a retro cheerleader ponytail. i liked the scarf idea but i thought her look read the least as 1950s with the colour choices and style of shirt/trousers. for abi i was looking at a picture of 1950s tomboy style with a bigger sweater and rolled up, masculine trousers. i thought as the artist she should have paint on her clothes, and her hair is curled tighter to look shorter and pinned with a barette. also for a 50s backpack, it should look like [this, probably with its own paint stains too.] for nick he's described as 'nerdy' so i added glasses (i think he had them in concept art too?) and leaned into that so he looks more like doody in grease live lol. the orange soda badge is a gift from a camper.

jacob can wear jeans tbh there should be more jeans idk why supermassive decided that ppl didn't wear jeans in the 1950s, especially elvis-loving teenagers. the classic white tee, jeans and converse look is great for him he just needs the proper 1950s elvis hair. for laura's again i was leaning into casual marilyn , (like i think supermassive were trying to do) just more dressed down than emma with rolled jeans. and she needed a hat! so i also put her hair down. max needs a proper short, gelled preppy hairdo. also i don't think he'd be in a full buttoned up collar and tie to drive down to summer camp, so i used the same-ish colour palette but gave him a flannel.

dylan's look was the most true to 1950s i'd say, so i just used a more exciting print for the shirt. i like the clashing patterns for him. ryan's was also not bad but has very little personality so i thought he could have more of that rebel vibe like again seen in some concept art for him. in the group livestream justice was talking about wanting to play a competent badass character anyway! for kaitlyn she's got the most tomboyish look of the gals, but i missed the colour in her outfit so she gets a fun shirt too. anyway, here they are!

okay so i watched abigail. and ummmm i didn't like it very much. it wasn't bad bad, but i was disappointed by some predictable choices that were made and just the overall aesthetic didn't vibe with me. that said, dan stevens? put his whole danussy in it, i really want him to play more over-the-top villain-monsters. his dynamic with joey was also great. i love that he kept trying to avoid killing her so he could keep her for himself. matthew goode bonus vampire dad kissing her blood-soaked hand at the end? also great. might be writing a joey-centric oneshot in the future. but overall, i wanted way more from this whole experience, bc it was very lukewarm.

Farmer's so engaging with the general community of the valley too, despite his usual gothic appearance slightly scaring Jaz and Vincent, he's a kind fellow who helps around here and there.

He'd probably be one of the first to test a game Sebastian coded, help orchestrate a song with Sam (farmer played cello in highschool?), or do/give manicures to Abigail while chatting about ghosts,,

He doesn't leave out Maru either; albeit he doesn't talk to her much, and Jaz and Vincent just need to get use to his corpse paint- but he doesn't dare talk with the kids unless they're the ones to strike conversation.

I deleted two entire paragraphs because I did not like how I written my ideas, so, imagine when you first arrive yeah? You need to befriend the older people first, and then the parents of stardew valley, doing things for them, running errands, so they'll talk about you to everyone else and become friends with you, they'll say you're nice and all that, and not as scary as you seem, so, you soon become friends, even though it takes a long time, with the others in the small town, and you have to slowly befriend the children, which takes a longer time, since they are kids and kids have the power of imagination, which, can lead to scary thoughts and images on whatever, so you have to be careful and ask their parents how you could possibly seem not scary, and so their kids wouldn't have to seem so scared around you, and act like they're walking on eggshells in their homes when you visit or when you're walking around town doing your own thing, since you just want them to be comfortable around you and not worry about you, since you're not scary and you're just wearing makeup you know??

Like that would be nice, I would also enjoy having a mod where you just need to befriend the older people before you could try and befriend the bachelors and bachelorettes, or even try and romance them, you need to get close with their family and friends before you could do such things, not sure how I'm gonna romance Harvey but you know what that's fine.

I know you loved Lisa Frankenstein (for good reason) and idk if you are a horror girlie or not but the movie Abigail just came out and was such a fun movie. Was it scary? Not to me. But it was campy there were certain scenes my jaw dropped because it was just the drama!!! Everyone was amazing at acting!! It's by the same people as Ready or Not and had similar vibes if you watched and liked that. Melissa Barrera (hopefully my phone stops autocorrecting her name) was INCREDIBLE. Kathryn Newton is in it too and this is the second horror/horror adjacent film I've seen her in this year (Lisa Frankenstein being the first) and I now am going to watch her entire filmography

i was actually raving about this on here last friday after i saw it! it’s a very fun horror film, super investing and i wasn’t really expecting to like it but i loved it.

before lisa frankenstein (which still has control of my life—just scored a really cool vinyl of its soundtrack and i’m waiting for a couple more things to come in), i didn’t care too much about kathryn because i mostly watched stuff in which she was a side character—but holy moly did she knock me out with Lisa Swallows and Jessie (Sammy). i am definitely a kathryn newton fan now. her personality out of her roles is pretty endearing too so she seems like an all around good person.

and melissa was VERY good—i love how she portrays these badass women with so much ease—but after THAT scene (i think you know what im talking about) where they had Sammy looking so fucking cool, she stole Joey’s spot as my fav character of the film.

and the miley cyrus memes about it kill me lol

abigail had known from the start that she was never going to be treated like some storybook princess. she had that with scott and it was boring. she couldnt stand having someone try to baby her all the time. she was grown and was used to doing things for herself. spoiling her own damn self. who was she kidding, she hated being spoiled. abi had never felt like she had deserved someone good in her life. her mother and father had always made sure to distil that her in her from a young age after all. she was used to it.

crying was the last thing she had wanted to be doing. it was bad enough to cry, she had thought, but in front of harley. the femme had worked so hard her whole life to build a tough shell that people werent allowed in or to see. so crying had only angered her more with herself. she was thankful when he had changed the subject to food. she nodded, "yeah, i dont think i have ate all day.. probably why im do emotional." she confessed softly.

"no, no.. this is fine. thanks." she had kept her words short. she just needed a nice hot and long bath. a place she could cry and get it all out and try to salvage whatever night was left. "i will be fine.. go ahead." she stood moving so he could leave the bathroom. that was the one of the best things about harley, he doesn't hover. he was gone and she was left alone to handle whatever emotions she had been struggling with. abigail had so much on her mind she had gotten not only herself but harley into a terrible mess when she had started fooling around with the man. regardless she hadnt felt guilty for any of it. she had only hoped she had made the right choice by coming her. abi had stayed in the water until it had turned from hot to cold. mostly trying to collect her thoughts and pull herself together from the night she had once had. she had been called a LOT of things by a LOT of people and yet somehow the words of her now ex had really hurt. maybe it was because she knew he was right. she would always be just this.. and maybe harley and her really did deserve once another. once she had gotten out she made her way to the dryer where she had slipped on a large, warm, t shirt of his and headed back down the hall to find him. "harley.." she called softly wondering if the man was even still awake at this point.

Abigail tended to stay away from the towns people. These were the very descendants of the people that had murdered her -- some were her own descendants that Pennywise had left alone. The deal struck between them had been kept for centuries, yet she was still bound to IT, to this place.

She glared at the painting in the library. She hated the rendition of her failure as a mother that was there for the entire town to see throughout the centuries.
