So it's my time to ramble on about canon because that's what this account is for (besides worshipping Lin)

So we have this scenario years in the past when Korra had not yet been discovered as the Avatar, Pema had only been at the temple for a few months but she stood out so she quickly rose to become Tenzin's assistant, the others said she had a gift for reading people and connecting with them and Pema took that praise for herself.

However she quickly discovered why there were no little airbenders running around the world, Tenzin only had two topics of conversation and they were his culture and his girlfriend and Pema was a little fed up with the second topic because Tenzin was praising the most "devoted, sweet, committed and loyal" woman to ever walk the earth while everyone else seemed to know a totally different Lin.

She never had the chance to meet Lin, she saw her from afar or in the newspaper, a strange agent who lurked around the place, who would come and hurt Tenzin with her selfishness and indifference and then leave without any problem. The first time she was able to have a conversation with her was when Tenzin was ending their relationship and his bad impression only increased "It's good that that monster is no longer in our lives!" She thought.

And many years later he would find himself on his way to the South Pole, holding his newborn baby while he implored all the spirits that Lin, the most stubborn, loyal, committed and generous woman she had ever met in his life, would return safely to them.

And as his PR manager is having a meltdown in the corner, Bakugou’s grin is wide when the little boys in the room sound out a simultaneous chorus of “ewwwwwww”
