TBH that’s how I feel abt most “-genic” terms. Half the time I see them it’s like “This is Autigenic, which is when your system forms from trauma/stress due to autism” or “This is Abugenic, which is when your system forms from childhood abuse” (THAT’S A REAL THING I SAW BTW) which is like. Okay I guess I’m both of those. No, no, I don’t have DID, I’m just autigenic abugenic wargenic!!!!!!

They’re treating it like an identity and not the mental illness it is. It’s really frustrating.

Microlabels are fine for gender and sexuality, but this isn’t a fun thing you get to play around with like that.

The Amazing Plural Headspace AU: The Body/System/Subconscious

The body that houses each of the alters shares a name with Caine. The system is abugenic (exists as a result of traumatic abuse at a young age) and has multiple mental illnesses: DID, anxiety, depression, ADHD, schizophrenia. Everyone is a memory/trauma holder besides Caine. They are all unaware of what DID is, and just know that they exist very differently from other people and need to hide that. Each member is important and invaluable to the wellbeing of the system. Someday they may be known as The Circus System/The Amazing Digital Circus System.
