I often think about all the people who were forced to go through their periods before reliable painkillers were invented. I just had period cramps so bad, I was frantically googling ‘how to tell the difference between period cramps, ovarian cysts, and a cute appendicitis’ while waiting for the painkillers to kick in and trying not to throw up from the pain. And how period cramps were probably the least of their problems. Absolutely insane. How did we survive as a species.

The woodlands surrounding Tottiford reservoir were full of fungi in all sizes, shapes and colours. I spotted those porcelain fungi along the path - they grow almost exclusively out of beech wood and have slimy white caps. I did want to include the branch the fungi were growing from as well as the lovely autumn colours of the forest so instead of going for a macro/close-up I included a lot of the trees in an autumnal bokeh.

This question is tough but exciting!! It was hard to narrow it down, but I think I have some contestants :•)

Pixie's Parasol (Mycena interrupta)

Blue is very much NOT my color, but this shade is one of my favorites :•) I think these mushrooms look like shiny, aquamarine beads, or maybe some fun earrings!

Pink Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus djamor)

Warm colors like this one are more my style! The gills of this mushroom remind me of the ruffles on a frilly shirt

Chanterelle (Cantharellus)

These look like some fun, wide-legged pants. Groovy!

What made you come up with the concept of this game? Also do you have a playlist based off of Mychael?

I think I've always wanted a cryptid-like yandere for the gamejam when it all started. It was a very barebones concept about a lonely mushroom man who sets up spore traps in order to ensnare and kidnap company. It was supposed to be way creepier and invasive as a oneshot thing, and was never meant to have multiple days in the story.

I'm glad I didn't go in that direction, though. I'm having more fun fleshing out Mychael's character and I made this blog because people were asking for it! I don't think a one-shot would've been able to build the sense of mini-fandom it has going on ❤️

As for a playlist, there's one based on Mushroom Oasis here! I plan to add songs as the Days go on.

But I do have a general Mychael playlist in the works! It's a mix of cute/creepy and romantic/platonic vibes that just fit him in my opinion. I'm still trimming and fine-tuning it!

one headcanon I have is that Athy is a terrible cook, because she's a spoiled princess who never had to work a day in her life and in her previous life she never had enough money to buy cooking ingredients or time to do anything but heat up pizza and instant noodles, but Jennette still loves her food the most because her taste buds are fucked due to dark magic and overly sweet/spicy food is the only one that has flavor to her
