Consequences [10/11]
[fic post]
|part 1| |part 2| |part 3| |part 4| |part 5| |part 6| |part 7| |part 8| |part 9|
Aaaand we're almost done!! This part is short and (I hope) sweet, so I really don't have much to say about it except that it contains one of my favorite paragraphs I've ever written for this fandom (the "obedience" paranthetical). Also: have I mentioned how much I love Catherine Foster <3
[The part in which 22 is still out cold and Kit is overwhelmingly Kit about it]
_______
10.
06 faces down this unique predicament the same way she always does. One arm akimbo, head tilted, worrying the nails of her dominant hand through her glove with her teeth.
She’d expected 22 to be in bad shape, but this—this is new. She can count on two hands the number of times she’s seen him pass out in the years they’ve been paired, and most of them have involved head trauma from training incidents, or else been on the operating table so they don’t even really count.
She crouches by his head, checks his pulse. Heat roils off his skin, soaking through her glove while she counts. A minute passes and she pulls her hand away, chewing her lip—forty-six beats, much too low. She brings up a chat box, hesitates, closes it. Finds his arm, heals the broken finger and the torn skin beneath his glove, fully expecting the pain to jolt him awake.
He does not stir.
He looks strange like this, expression wiped smooth, no trace of his usual scowl. He looks young, vulnerable, as close to fragile as she’s ever seen him. Without consciousness to keep it at bay, the illness is free to taint his features, circling his eyes in charcoal and turning the rest of his skin ashy pale. Only his sharp cheekbones burn, high color painted over them from the fever. His lips, oddly parted, are chapped.
She hates it.
Another minute sees her scooping him up, all one-hundred-eighty-something pounds of him like nothing in her arms. One around his shoulders, the other tucked under his knees, her exactitude of force never more precisely calculated than this moment.
His head lolls, and she shifts him so that it rests against her shoulder, his hot slow breath on her collarbone.
A memory washes over her as she takes a step, and for a moment it stalls her, locking her muscles in place as the images bleed through her vision unbidden.
A surveillance video, coercively shown her by the Director, of a scene she has no memory of herself: 22, age twelve, marching down the street with her in his arms like he is in hers now, bleak determination in every line of his posture. The Director trailing beside him in her personal car, snail’s pace.
He’d been sick then, too—only much, much worse, all of his organs in perfectly cascading failure as they rejected four years of treatment in a matter of hours, systemically, cell by cell; and though she’d had no way of knowing this at the time, she’d nonetheless been absolutely useless, falling for the Director’s trap like a fucking idiot.
She sets her jaw, shakes the memory out of her head. Dispels the Director’s commentary—You see, Catherine? 22 exhibits model obedience no matter the circumstances, you’d do well to follow his lead—and grits her teeth, fighting the sting of shame echoing out of that memory. Nothing about that poor sick 22 from the video says obedience to 06; no, she understands him far better than that. Desperation, sure. Necessity, probably. Loyalty, absolutely. He brought her back that day to save them both, nothing more.
Today, she will do the same.
(Obedience, the Director will say, a grudging acknowledgment in passing that would once have earned her a cookie and now simply falls hollow on uncaring ears. But 06 will think of that video shown in secret, of small 22 clinging to his dignity then and the 22 she carries unconscious through the black glass doors who fought her for the same, and she will look that bitch in her cold, soulless eyes and say, loyalty.)
It starts to snow as she starts to walk again, fat icy flakes brushing her face and melting where they kiss her skin, and she throws her head back and grins, determination flowing back into her with every careful step.

BKDK Fic Recs
I've a lot of bookmarks in my AO3 profile and I needed to make a list with all those wonderful stories!
[This list will have other parts]
Tumblr media
1- Mechanical Bull by warschach [Explicit]
Katsuki has a track record of bad choices, it's a condition, but Izuku might be the one choice that's right.
2- Dull by choimarie
“What? Never have seen a hot dude before?”
3- Caught Looking by EAter [Explicit]
He hadn’t meant to look, but once he did, he couldn’t stop. Izuku always knew Katsuki was attractive, in a sort of removed, passive way. He’s obnoxiously fit- with good posture and clear skin and those sharp, dangerous eyes.
Really, it’s a wonder Izuku hadn’t stopped to stare sooner.
4- Sour Silk by BrightEyesEren [Explicit]
Midoriya Izuku starts to receive random gifts at his door. Chaos ensues when he realises he has a sugar daddy.
5- Drinking Watermelon by warschach [Explicit]
For whatever reason, maybe divine fate, Izuku turned and looked over his shoulder and waved to them.
Katsuki’s heart full on stopped right then, and his fingers forgot their duty on the rails, and his body neglected its job to keep Katsuki balanced.
Izuku’s summer sweet smile fell into concern as Katsuki went airborne and cracked his skull on the porch.
Or Katsuki works as a camp counselor, and Izuku is a boy made of summer heat and sunlight.
6- Sucker Punch by warschach [Explicit]
But, whatever, Disney Boy over there was—
Prettying up real damn good that Katsuki got kind of distracted—totally understandable, like god those CGI pine eyes—and didn’t see the straight path he made for the metal trash bin in the center of the area until he was tipping forward and waist deep in discarded bottles, plates, balled up tissues sticky with he prayed was chocolate ice cream and nacho cheese.
Mina howled behind the gate. “Look, Katsuki returned to his home.”
(Or Katsuki works security at Six Flags and moonlights as a derby dude and continuously looks uncool around Izuku)
7- K-9 by warschach [Explicit]
Izuku takes in a stray on one rainy night, except it's not a dog, it's a dog shifter who goes by the name, Katsuki. After the initial wave of panic and embarrassment, Izuku thinks his new pet/roommate is pretty cute.
8- Misfire by deplore
Life's difficult when you're a teenager and your hormones make you lose control of your quirk. Alternately: A PG-13 version of "Sex Sent Me To The ER."
The pleasant sensation that comes from kissing Bakugou – the knowledge that it’s because he’s touching Bakugou so intimately that’s got Bakugou making such vulnerable noises – it tingles satisfyingly underneath his skin in a way that almost feels like when he activates One for All.
– and then there’s the sickening sound of something snapping just as Midoriya realizes, half a second too late, that the feeling is actually exactly like when he activates One for All.
9- Sugar Stardust by milkcandie
Between baking pretty macarons and sculpting wedding cakes, Katsuki slowly falls in love with a certain green-haired coworker who has effervescent stars in his eyes. Maybe working as a pastry chef in Nowhere, Japan isn't so bad after all, especially when he’s in such close proximity to a boy who manages to beautify every little thing in his presence.
A pâtisserie AU where Katsuki and Izuku are really the perfect ingredient for each other.
10- Gravity by warschach [Explicit & Omegaverse]
Izuku is back in his hometown and plenty hasn't changed much from the 8 years he was gone. Except, Katsuki Bakugou, the alpha king of their small town. He's hotter- because that's fair, right, God? -, stronger, a now-famous pro fighter, and noticeably nicer this round.
Not that he cares, pfft.
Ha, Izuku Midoriya caring about Katsuki Bakugou, thinking he's pretty cute and not half bad once you get past the asshole persona; though that gargantuan ego of his could take a dive off a very tall cliff.
(Fine, he cares.)
11- In Which Bakugou Finds His One Tru Luv by Erina
Welcome to the Explodo-kill agency! We can destroy your buildings, crash your cars, and help you solve one of the seven mysteries in life: who is Bakugou Katsuki's mysterious boyfriend?!
The Misadventures of Explodo-kill Agency It is a really fun series! Super recommended ❤
12- Cherish Me by Justaperson1718
“What?”
Izuku looked back down at his menu and flipped the page, a small smile on his face. “Nothing.”
Katsuki glared at Izuku from across the table. “If it was nothing then you wouldn’t be staring at me.”
“It’s just a little funny watching you try to look your best for our date when you always look great anyway,” Izuku explained. He wouldn’t look up from his menu while he spoke, but his words remained ingrained with confidence nevertheless. He considered what he was saying to be fact, and nothing else. “Even when you’re not trying in front of the cameras, it’s still hard to take my eyes off of you.”
13- Chewed Up by warschach [Explicit]
Zombie apocalypse, more than a third of the population currently dead or in the state of undead, and Katsuki still somehow managed to get his shit stolen by two chicks and Freckle boy.
Fuck this new generation.
14- Manage Me by Justaperson1718
Izuku caught himself moving forward, his head tilted somewhat to the side, and his eyes shot wide open. His gaze met Katsuki’s half-lidded eyes now that he was no longer in a dreamlike state, and seeing the way Katsuki was looking at him—waiting for him—made him realize Katsuki would’ve let him do it. He might have even wanted him to do it.
“You’re both doing fabulous!” the photographer called out to them, packing his camera into his bag and getting ready to leave. “I just got word that what we have now should be good, so we’ll stop there. Thank you for your time! Lock the door on your way out after you change.”
The pair stayed frozen in place, with Izuku’s arms around Katsuki’s neck and Katsuki’s hands resting on Izuku’s waist, while the photographer and his supervisor left.
“Kacchan,” Izuku cooed once they were gone. “Did you want to…?”
15- I'll Hold You In My Heart by InkspillsNotebook
"Someday, everything you own, everything you love... will be mine."
When a threat from the past comes to light, the budding romance between Prince Katsuki Bakugou and Prince Izuku Midoriya is put on hold as Katsuki struggles to save the love of his life, and Izuku puts up with being turned into a swan.
The Swan Princess (1994) AU
16- King Tide by warschach
Izuku meets a sea prince.
17- Play It Cool by warschach
Izuku accidentally becomes Katsuki's secret cuddle buddy.
(or that time Izuku and Katsuki snuggle on real pretenses then false ones, each finding a way to poorly miscommunicate their emotions cause what do these boys do aside of making carters in infrastructures and in each other, make the whole class of 1-A weep for them, and manage a romance to bring Ryan Gosling to the brink of tears.)
18- Boom, Badoom, Boom by warschach
Izuku's working the kissing booth at the school fair, it just so happens Katsuki has been crushing on him since the first grade.
“Did you—“ Izuku parted his mouth with no sound leaving it, “Did you pay?”
“Yea.”
“For a kiss?”
19- Bad Dog by Morpheel [Explicit, Omegaverse & Hybrids]
Katsuki Bakugou is a Wolf-Dog hybrid who has been returned more times than he can count.
His natural aggression and anger is excessive, even for an Alpha. Every time he's been purchased he's wound up blowing it one way or another. Yet when another chance comes around to prove his worth, he'll do whatever it takes to stay-
That is, until he runs into a minor roadbump. He isn't the only pet in the Asai household. When said pet is also an Omega, currently in the throes of his season, how the hell is he supposed to not blow it? (Literally).
20- Cafe Mocha by HG_Wells
Everyone has a timer on their wrist that appears when they turn thirteen, they can never remove it until the moment the timer reaches zero and you find your Soulmate. Izuku Midoriya works at a cafe in downtown Tokyo and he finds his Soulmate in the worst way possible.
21- Heartbreak Aftermath by HG_Wells [Explicit & Omegaverse]
After a harsh breakup with his ex-boyfriend, Todoroki Shouto, his friends decide to take him out to get his mind off things. A few drinks with a stranger turns into something more and he gets more than what he bargained for.
22- It's Better Than Drinking Alone by osakakitty [Explicit]
On the fourteenth of July, Izuku Midoriya's girlfriend called him to her place, and dumped him. And now, on the morning of the fifteenth of July, he woke up with a gruesome hangover and no one to celebrate the day with.
Or not.
Modern-day AU where Midoriya and Bakugo are strangers who meet in a bar, and then have wild and crazy sex later that night. The morning after, it's Midoriya's birthday, but he can't quite remember everything that happened. Bakugo is still willing to give him a present.
23- The Morning After 'The Morning After' by VRios
Izuku gets his keys back. Short epilogue to "It's Better Than Drinking Alone".
24- Fishy by warschach for DriftingGlass [Explicit]
Izuku’s convinced his hot co-worker/neighbor, Katsuki, is a mermaid-or merman- you gotta consider genders even with mythical creatures- and plans to prove it.
(or this is kinda like the show ‘Monster Quest’, except Izuku actually finds said monster, falls in love, and have sexy times.)
25- Piggyback by deanvspanties
I found this prompt and I wanted to do it for Bakugou's birthday but I'm a bit late:
Person 1 complaining about how long the walk to wherever is, and Person 2 constantly telling them to shut up and that they’re almost there. After Person 1 doesn’t stop complaining, Person 2 picks Person 1 up like a child and tells them that’s what they get for complaining like a child, and carries them all the way there.
“If you’re going to act like a fussy goddamned brat, I’m going to treat you like one.”
Really I just wanted to write adult Izuku getting a piggyback ride from Kacchan.
26- The last dragon-blood king by claimedbydaryl [Explicit & Omegaverse]
Katsuki Bakugou was the alpha heir to a forgotten throne, reigning lord and warden of the Fyre Isles, a famed warrior of vicious repute in the Western Seas, and he would be wed to Izuku Midoriya by the day’s end.
27- Storge by Mellosweet [Omegaverse]
“Hold on,” Aizawa said, his voice harsh as if he couldn’t believe what he was just told “let me see if I heard it right. You went to Midoriya’s house with Eri and Kouta, because they wanted to see him, but Midoriya is in heat. Then he called the kids his ‘pups’, took them to his bedroom, and now Bakugou won’t let you near the house?” “Yes” Togata looked up to the building behind him “What should I do?” Aizawa sighs “I am not paid enough for this.”
28- Where's the Fire? by InfiniteTeal
Uraraka is on a mission, a mission to find out whether or not Bakugou and Midoriya are actually together. The evidence stacks up to prove that they are, even everyone else she brings with her sees it, but there's nothing she can do when the couple denies the evidence.
29- Curse the Way to Heaven by InfiniteTeal
Midoriya actually knows how to swear, and Bakugou gets turned on at the simplest moments.
30- Head Game Strong by InfiniteTeal [Explicit]
Some of the students from class 1-A decide to go out to dinner together for the evening. Midoriya hadn't planned to joined them, but it's no surprise that he's under the table fooling around with Bakugou. It sounded like a good idea at first, but Bakugou has a hard time keeping it together when Midoriya gives him a secret blowjob while everyone else is sitting around him.
31- Kacchan's Piercing by InfiniteTeal [Explicit]
Bakugou is bombarded by his classmates about his not-so-secret piercing. He finds out about what the other classmates did to Midoriya, and decides that he wants to feel Midoriya's tongue piercing for himself.
32- Memorized by SchrodingersCat_DoA [Explicit & Fem!Izuku]
Stupid. It was stupid.
Bakugou leaned down and grabbed her scarred wrist to pull her to her feet. He made his way to the dance floor, dragging Deku behind him. He could hear her sputtering behind him, trying to find words to say, but failing.
As he reached the edge of the dancing mass, he turned to face Deku and pulled her into him. Her hands met his chest and fisted in his shirt, pinching some skin, but he didn’t wince. “There, now you have someone to dance with.”
33- Blonde Haired Bunnies by Morpheel [Explicit, Omegaverse & Hybrids]
In an attempt to create a new genetic pattern in the Rabbit-Hybrid Gene, Izuku Midorya is paired with a very strange (and almost unorthodox) stud. The end goal is blonde haired, red eyed rabbits- though only one Alpha truly fits that bill.
Surely a wolf and a rabbit can't breed?
34- Never Skip Leg Day by SecretKiwi [Explicit]
Deku loves leg day, and so does Katsuki- just in a different way.
35- F.U. by warschach [Explicit]
Izuku smiled; Katsuki understood why people warned that the devil wore a Sunday hat and fine clothes because deception worked better if no one expected it.
Not anymore. He knew Izuku’s evil ways, and his ass might be a 20 on the hotness meter but Katsuki held grudges.
“Izuku,” he sneered; he too could be evil right back.
(Or Katsuki's a football player; Izuku's a cheerleader; they have a rivalry until it isn't one)
36- A Rare Exchange by aideyn [Explicit]
"Oi Deku! Heard you're looking for some "Rare Might"~?"
37- How To Fall In Love With Your Enemy by Insomnia_Productions
When you find the soul that is perfectly matched to your own, any mark that appears on their skin will appear on yours, as well. Everyone knows that.
Midoriya knows it... but, somehow, he's never imagined it happening to him.
Bakugou knows it, too... but he doesn't have time for stupid things like that.
And, although both of them know that Fate is never wrong... there have got to be exceptions. After all, this match cannot possibly be anything but a mistake. Right?
38- One Exception by GreyLiliy
If you’d have told Katsuki when he was in middle school that every day after his shift he’d come home to Deku waiting with a soft smile and dinner, he’d have laughed and set off an explosion in your face. But Deku is stubborn, Katsuki was weak, and now they share a home.
Routine is broken, however, when a Villain makes himself known by taking the lives of Pro Heroes with no trace of motive. With the entire Hero community on edge, Katsuki can only be grateful that Deku has given up on his childish Hero dreams and is safe at home instead of in the line of fire.
39- Swipe Right by Cellaira [Explicit]
Kirishima had another stupid idea, and Katsuki had nothing to lose. Then, he discovered a witty, freckled, attractive stranger, and he had everything to gain.
(Like some damn good sex.)
In other words, the Grindr AU no one asked for but everyone secretly needed.
40- Matchmakers by Trashreciptical
When Katsuki agreed to be Jirou's wingman at a school dance for his students he expected to be bored out of his mind, he expected to laugh at his students suffering trying to communicate with the opposite sex, and he expected being subjected to shitty pop music all night.
What he wasn't expecting was the gorgeous teacher from the other school with forests in his eyes and stars on his cheeks....fuck he has it bad.
In which Katsuki is a chemistry teacher that is one explosion away from being fired and Izuku is the adorable english teacher from a different school, who sweeps Katsuki off of his feet and he doesn't know what to do.
41- Between ink and thorns by soulstring
There are a lot of things people are amazed at when it comes to Bakugou Katsuki. The thing that stands out the most – especially since it comes from a man with so little patience and an explosive temperament – is his unsuspecting love for botany. In an ideal world he would look after his flower shop and get paid for it without having to deal with an annoying element attached to his work; namely bother, namely aggravation, namely humans.
And that day, the worst of them is about to enter his flower shop and his life.
42- Daisies bunches and heather branches by halcyonwhispers
Izuku falls in love with the foul-mouthed tattoo artist next door.
43- Unknown Number: I Love You by Lillabelle
Opposites attract right? Well that's what Midoriya's friend, Uraraka, thinks. Her friend from another school talked about another guy, Bakugou Katsuki, and the two girls decided the two were perfect for each other. Now Midoriya is left with the number of a guy he didn't even know.
How bad could it be?
44- How IKEA Sells All Their Beds by thankyouforexisting
The next day, Kacchan turns on the cold water while Izuku is showering, resulting in a screaming match that the whole floor gets involved in, and soap bars starts flying everywhere, while Mineta throws his purple balls so that people can grab onto them and not slip on the wet floor, earning a “You’re not that bad, dude,” from Kirishima (It's a lie. Literally everybody hates him). Aizawa punishes them all by making them run laps for an hour the next morning.
Two days later, Izuku retaliates by lowering the thermostat until Kacchan can’t summon fire to burn his clothes, and Iida appears in the doorway holding a flag and shouting, “JUSTICE FOR CLOTHES! NO MORE DESTRUCTION OF FABRIC! WE MUST FIGHT THIS STRIKE AGAINST THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY, COMRADES!”
Kacchan rips the thermostat from the wall with his fire cannons and burns the flag, half of Izuku’s wardrobe, and his bed.//Deku and Kacchan are roommates, and everyone fears for their safety.
45- Yes, They're All Safe by teaandtumblr
Villains have entered UA grounds and are disposed of just as quickly, but that doesn't mean a headcount of the students doesn't need to be done. Toshinori would admit, he wasn't quite prepared for what he found in Bakugou Katsuki's room.
46- I’ll share this with you, so leave it behind by yabakuboi [Single Dad!Izuku]
For the sake of the story, All Might is never in need of a successor, and, when Izuku saves Katsuki from the sludge monster, encourages young Midoriya down a different path. Thus, Katsuki and Izuku part ways after junior high, as Katsuki enters U.A. and the Midoriyas move overseas. It’s later that Katsuki realizes that there’s something missing, that he drove that something away.
Years after, Katsuki finds him in the last place he looks, in the cereal aisle at the local grocery store of their childhood neighborhood.
47- Catharsis by dollcewrites [Explicit]
It's been six years since Izuku graduated.
It's been six years since he confessed to his childhood friend; his classmate and his inspiration.
It's been six years since he deleted Bakugou's number, asked his friends not to mention the name, spent every last effort of his heart turning off the TV and averting his eyes from the newspapers.
It's been six, long, long years since he gave up on Katsuki Bakugou ever loving him back.
48- Stopping All Stations by glamour_weeb [Explicit & Rape Fantasy]
Izuku begs Katsuki to roleplay as a pervert that feels him up on the train. Katsuki only agrees if Izuku wears a slutty school girl uniform. They both get a little bit too into it.
49- Go the Fuck to Sleep by glamour_weeb [Omegaverse]
Izuku can't sleep and Katsuki takes care of him aka Izuku is needy and Katsuki is whipped.
Takes place during the training camp.
50- Serpents by glamour_weeb [Explicit & Omegaverse]
Izuku goes into heat and leaves a trail of scent across Katsuki’s territory. When the Alpha catches his scent, he tracks Izuku down and mates with him.
51- Let's Get Closer Still by bionic_heehaw (nmhotel21) [Explicit, Fem!Izuku & Incest]
Izuku has a week to find out if her brother wants her the way she's desired him since middle school. After their parents come back from holiday, she probably won't have a chance like this again.
52- What’s up danger by The_Crafty_Cracker [Omegaverse]
Because apparently,The fic where Deku punches a bigoted entailed asshole Alpha in the face wasn’t an appropriate title.
Poor Katsuki has his handful with his mate nearly getting arrested, again!
53- Devil in Me by glamour_weeb [Explicit & Omegaverse]
Katsuki's usually the one getting into fights over Deku when they go to the club, but this time, his Omega's the one that starts a fight over him, but he doesn't stop there. Deku's determined to mark his territory.
54- You've Got Mail! by glamour_weeb [Explicit, Omegaverse & In process]
Izuku is a Quirkless Omega and Katsuki is an Alpha pro hero. Their paths might have never crossed if they hadn’t started using the anonymous mail service where Alphas and Omegas can buy and sell their clothes as heat/rut aids.
Izuku wonders if it's possible to fall in love with an Alpha's scent and Katsuki wonders if he'll ever meet the Omega that smells like his True Mate.
A very horny love story in three parts.
55- Pets take after their Owners by San121 [Explicit, Omegaverse & Hybrids]
Shouto and Eijirou are a loving couple, Shouto recently got a rabbit Pet and Eijirou wants his Katsuki to like his boyfriend's Pet. Katsuki does more than like.
56- Way more than a handful by Morpheel [Explicit, Hybrids & Trans!Izuku]
Izuku wasn’t quite sure what to expect in bringing a rescue to his home.
While most owners would pride themselves in adopting a mixed breed of dog, or perhaps a stray cat; Midoriya had completely bypassed the beginners circle and brought home a fiery wolfdog hybrid with a bad temper.
It... has up and downs.
57- Dii Consentes by Souzoshiyou [Explicit, Fem!Izuku, Torture, Gore and Blood & Slight TodoBakuDeku]
The two ran along the secret passage with Izuku running ahead, dragging Katsuki by the hand with giggles. The blonde looked at their joined hands before looking the heiress' back. God, he loves her so much. He'd do practically anything for her, even become her plaything if she wants. He had never met anyone that reflected and complemented him so much. He'll chase after her everywhere even to the pits of hell.
58- Wild Thing (You Make My Heart Sing) by Gezelligheid [Fem!Izuku]
A series of mostly unrelated one shots revolving around genderbent Izuku, mostly involving her relationship with our favorite hothead.
59- Earned It by Morpheel [Explicit & Omegaverse]
Because within the illumination of lantern light stood a brothel’s worth of Omegas, all in various states of disarray, giggling and washing themselves without a care in the world to the army in their path.
Bakugou’s eyes narrowed in suspicion. Bakugou Katsuki wasn't expecting any interruptions in his conquest of the Capital. Let alone for that interruption to backfire.
60- When the sunset shifts by ser_problematique [Explicit & Werewolves]
Katsuki has a problem; Izuku is there to help him through it. Smutty fantasy au with werewolf porn.
61- ¡NO CULPES AL ALCOHOL! by GABY_NEKO [Fem!Izuku]
"Oh my god, did I steal Kacchan's virginity?!"
62- Maid You Mine by glamour_weeb [Explicit, Omegaverse & Hybrids]
“Welcome to Yuuei, Master!” A squeaky voice greets Katsuki when he pushes through the door of the Omega maid cafe, the little bell on the inside jingling, announcing his arrival. “Oh, hi, Kacchan!”
“Deku,” Katsuki growls back, his own fluffy golden tail flicking behind him irritably.
A hybrid AU where wolf Katsuki begrudgingly puts up with his obnoxiously cheerful coworker, bunny Izuku, until the day Katsuki comes into work and goes into heat.
63- The Piano Knows Something I Don't Know by oyasumi_yue [Fem!Izuku]
‘Intrigued’ is an understatement for the Bakusquad as they notice Bakugo Katsuki, a guy who has a tongue that could rival Satan himself, is refusing to eat spicy food.
64- Do You Know What I'm Seeing? by oyasumi_yue [Fem!Izuku]
Katsuki Bakugo prides himself with a headstrong attitude, his only goal is to be the best Hero, 'distraction' is not part of his majorly curse-composed vocabulary. But then, it all wavered when that purple perverted bastard made a comment about Deku's prominent body features.
Alternative Title: When Did Deku Become So Hot?
65- Little Bad Girl by SchrodingersCat_DoA [Explicit & Fem!Izuku]
Bakugou tossed the All Might sleep pants back on the shelf but held onto the oversized t-shirt. He let it fall open and brought it to eye level to study it. It was two sizes too big for Deku – at least in the terms of length. It was a simple grey t-shirt and soft – it was also a men’s shirt. As he was studying the shirt, the tag caught his eye. Bakugou adjusted his grip and brought the shirt closer to his face. He grabbed the tag and sneered.
On it was written T.S. Of course that Half’n’Half bastard would write his initials in his clothing.
Bakugou’s smirk fell from his face as it finally clicked in his head that Deku had a shirt that belonged to Half’n’Half. His blonde eyebrows pulled into the center of his face until they met and could go no further. The smirk continued to fall until it was twisted into an ugly grimace. The t-shirt in his hands started to singe as his Quirk fired off.
This wouldn’t do. No, this would not do at all.
66- Reflections by Kreativekilljoy
Where hero Bakugou Katsuki keeps having impromptu encounters with officer Midoriya Izuku.
67- Changeling by Souzoshiyou [Fem!Izuku & Attempted Rape]
'He's not an angel, nor a demon. I guess I can call him a ghost... But I prefer to call him a soul in need.'
In one whole month, how did they affect each other? Did Izuku help Katsuki? Did Katsuki help Izuku? We'll never know, but one thing's for sure; they changed each other.
68- Izuku and the Stag by Sarcastic_Metaphor
Katsuki is a god, a patron of war and a conqueror of nations. Trying to court a puny, green-haired mortal shouldn’t be giving him as much trouble as it is.
Meanwhile, Izuku lives in the forest and studies magic. All he wants to do is continue his work, but he finds himself continuously running into a strange, angry boy in the woods.
69- Please Scent Me by fleurown [Omegaverse]
In which Deku needs a quick favor at a party and Katsuki can't deny such a cute face.
70- Mamma Is Here by KurageMonsta [Explicit, Omegaverse, Non-Con & Incest]
Midoriya Izuku really really loves his son.
71-  Thrill of the Hunt by DrProblematic [Explicit & Omegaverse]
It began the way it always did — Izuku running, and Katsuki chasing after him. Despite both knowing where it would inevitably lead, they persisted for the sake of the journey: for the thrill of the hunt, of being hunted.
72- Drabbles and drabbles by kacchansass [Incomplete]
A collection of writing prompts sent to me on my tumblr! Typically gonna be BakuDeku prompts, but other pairings may pop up as well. Not all will be canon compliant either!
73- I'm So Glad I Found My Mate Today by kittiegirl1616 [Explicit & Omegaverse]
Pro-Hero Ground Zero has captured a villain when he senses his mate is nearby.
74- Nesting - The Omega Superstore! by Swifty_Heart [Omegaverse]
Imagine a store that wall to wall full of the softest blankets, pillows, and gourmet food! A superstore where Omegas go for all their nesting needs!
75- His Reflection by CarCarWong545 [Omegaverse]
Forced into a life that doesn't feel like his own, what shall Izuku do when he meets a not too pleasant alpha?
76- Eternity by PeppermintLeo [Explicit & Omegaverse]
Izuku was Kacchan’s partner, in every sense of the word. He ruled right next to Kacchan’s side, an alpha and an omega, leading Kacchan’s tribe against all sorts of odds. As well as his romantic partner, steady and solid by his side but giving when emotions called for it.
Izuku has adapted to the ways of the barbarian tribe with the help of Katsuki Bakugou, the barbarian king. From the beginning, he knew their connection would be special, but he never expected the man to ask him to spend forever, and after, with him.
77- If you can't find the morning light, i'm here tonight by yabakuboi [Omegaverse]
“You’re still you.” Katsuki can’t look at him as he says it. “You’re still Deku, but you’re not useless. You got dealt a shit hand, but you didn’t give up. You’re strong as hell, and you always have been. I didn’t see it as a kid, but I do now.”
Katsuki swallows. There’s a sharp smell to the air, blossoming up from where Izuku sits across from him at the little breakfast table, and it smells like grief, but like relief. And when he meets Izuku’s teary eyes, he feels his heart thud heavily in his chest. Slowly, cautiously, he slides his hands across the table and takes Izuku’s into his own.
Katsuki was never sure what happened to his childhood friend, quirkless Izuku who had presented as an omega and was whisked away to a traditional matchmaking house. Katsuki never saw him again after that, and tried to convince himself it was for the best. Many lonely years pass before he finds Izuku in the last place he ever wanted to, in the middle of a battlefield with a child clutching to his shirt.
78- Katsuki and the Hare by GreyLiliy [Hybrids & In process]
While hiking in the forest, Katsuki finds a wild hybrid caught and injured in a hunting trap. He performs his due diligence to call for help, not expecting to see the hybrid again.
However, on future hiking trips in those same woods, he spots hints of green in his peripheral and before he knows it, Katsuki finds himself with a curious tagalong that becomes a part of his life in a way he could have never predicted.
79- Dogged Love by GreyLiliy [Hybrids]
While helping out his friend Uraraka with her work, Izuku notices the client’s pet locked in a kennel wearing a muzzle. Izuku’s chest ached with the desire to help and before he knew it, he’d gathered the money and bought the dog from the other man, becoming a pet owner for the first time in his life.
Katsuki, however, wonders how he went from having a bad owner to one that needed a master of his own to keep himself out of trouble.
As time goes by, though, Katsuki and Izuku find out they’re both exactly what the other has always needed.
80- A Burrow for You and I by GreyLiliy [Explicit & Hybrids]
Katsuki and Izuku grew up together as neighbors, a human and a hybrid that most would call the best of friends. But after an unexpected step forward in their relationship, Izuku backed away and put distance between them—too much distance.
When Izuku arrives back home after a year of absence, he makes sure Katsuki is the first to see the fruits of his labor.
81- Izuku's Home for Wayward Pets by glamour_weeb [Explicit, Omegaverse, Hybrids & In process]
Izuku works at the Bureau of Companion Protection as a rehabilitator for abused and abandoned Companions, animal-human hybrids. He’s seen his fair share of cruelty cases and even fostered a few Companions, but he’s never had a Companion of his own, until now. After rescuing Katsuki from a life in an illegal, underground Companion fighting ring, Izuku must take in the wolfdog that no one else can handle.
Eventually, Katsuki comes to love his new home, as well as his new Master.
82- Does your mother know? by setitoff
It's hard for anyone to impress katsuki bakugou, much less catch his eyes, really. so when izuku midoriya, their new english professor shows up, katsuki is more than a little interested.
83- My ex-man brought his new boyfriend by setitoff [In process]
izuku's desperate to get a date after being persuaded (forced, more like) to go for a family reunion back in his hometown, in which he will most definitely see his ex, todoroki shouto, with a date of his own.
in a last attempt to find someone, izuku asks for help and ends up getting bakugou katsuki.
84- Payphone by flowercafe [In process]
Izuku’s in trouble — like, SOS trouble. Lucky for him, he’s one phone call away from salvation. Hopefully his trembling fingers dial the right number, because it would really suck if he accidentally called a stranger right now.
Or
The “I was walking home alone in the middle of the night and someone started following me so I ran into this phone booth with a lock on the door to call for help, but my hands were shaking so badly I accidentally dialed the wrong number and I don’t even know who you are but please help me" au — ft. a Quirkless Izuku whose misdial connects him to the personal cell line of pro hero Ground Zero.
85- For whatever we lose by kindaopps [Dubious Consent]
He locks the pelt up in a chest, and keeps the key hanging from his neck.
The boy's face was devastated, but Katsuki found even that quite beautiful.
86- Plucking the Heartstrings by K1NGKYO
Izuku never expected to become attracted to a customer in the cafe, but sure enough, Katsuki 'Boom Boy' Bakugou catches his attention. As he pursues a friendship with Bakugou, Izuku discovers he is secretly a popular horror writer, but what's most surprising is Bakugou's musical prowess.
Music without words can say many things and Izuku discovers how.
87- In A Sky Of A Million Stars (Who Cares If One More Light Goes Out?) by Stringlish [Suicide Attempt, Depression, PTSD & In process]
He could never forgive himself.
It was his fault.
He’d planted the idea like a seed he’d never known would grow.
(Or: What if Izuku jumped?) (OR: The one where Izuku jumps and lives and Katsuki visits him every day and Class 1-A not-so-secretly finds it adorable that their designated angry pomeranian brings flowers to his comatose childhood friend.)
88- Printer Daddy by deanvspanties [Explicit]
Izuku knows the only way to fix a broken printer is to buy a new one, but printer repairman Bakugou is here to exceed all of his expectations.
And there's nothing hotter than a guy who knows his way around a printer.
89-  How to Train Your Shitty Omega by deanvspanties [Explicit]
Izuku will have Bakugou's knot. He's Izuku's alpha after all.
90- The Tale of an Extra by Anzul
In which Katsuki channels true holiday spirit by inviting himself to his former middle school classmate's party and then sitting in a corner glued to his phone. Psh, like his secret-not-so-secret boyfriend is having a better Christmas anyway.
(Someone please save his former classmate.)
91- You Ready For This? by sabasama
“You’re saying you wanna fuck?” “Oh my god, don’t say it like that!” “What? It’s the same thing.” “No, it’s not!” Izuku wailed; he couldn’t be alone on this subscription of thought.
92- warm hands by flowercafe
"Your hands are so soft," he blurts.
Katsuki gives his fingers a threatening squeeze. "What the hell, Deku? Are you sayin' there's a problem with having soft hands, hah?"
Izuku never thought that Bakugou Katsuki, of all people, would willingly give him a hand massage. But here they are, sitting knee to knee, with his fingers lying innocently in those explosive palms.
Or
a 5+1 featuring copious amounts of massaging, a dollop of mutual pining, many ridiculous competitions, Izuku’s achy joints, and one very tactile Katsuki.
93- After Hours by Morpheel [Explicit & Trans!Midoriya]
Who would have thought school locker rooms were a bad place to get it on at?
Midoriya and Bakugou decide to wind down together after training past hours within U.A. Little do they know they weren't the only ones with the idea of staying after class. This could get pretty messy, pretty fast, if Bakugo can't brush off the fact he had Midoriya pinned to the shower stall.
94- Eat Your Damn Dinner by glamour_weeb [Omegaverse]
"Katsuki's been with Deku long enough to know the signs of when his Omega is about to go into heat. Hell, he’s more in tune with Deku’s cycle than the fucking nerd is with his own body. No surprise there, Deku’s always been absolute shit at taking care of himself. That’s why Katsuki's going to take care of him, like always."
Katsuki Bakugou is not whipped. He just likes taking care of his Omega.
95- As Fate Would Have It by ScientificallySinful (VampireGaaraCheesepuffs) [Explicit & Omegaverse]
Katsuki Bakugo had plenty of reasons why he wasn't mated yet, not that he was going to explain why to just anyone. But now, Ground Zero was running out of time. If he didn't find someone soon, he'd lose his position as a Pro-Hero and he'd never get to be #1. So, when he finds out there's a male Omega recently arrested for prostitution that's headed to prison if he too doesn't get a mate…well it must be fate.
Izuku Midoriya doesn't know if he should laugh or cry when his childhood bully shows up in front of his jail cell asking him to be his mate. He also didn't know if it was good or bad that Kacchan didn't seem to recognize him, but fate hasn't been kind to him before so why should it start now?
96- since some liar brought the thunder, the land is now deserted by baby345 [Omegaverse]
"17 years ago 5 omegas was each taught the act of espionage, when they graduated they were given careful instructions to follow their mission and regroup when the time came." the old man revealed casually. "omegas were often sought after by outside agencies especially as little kids because they were so much easier to mold and teach. they were perfect for undercover missions simply because they had the talent of being able to flawlessly work a room, nobody ever suspected the little omega in the corner of being a assassin until they were standing over them with a blade in hand."
"two of the omegas who excelled brilliantly in their training were code named flicker and cottontail or as you know them: Izuku Bakugou and Denki Shinso." He revealed.
Katsuki and Hitoshi whole world is flipped upside down when their mates are accused of being sleeper agents and are missing, trusting nobody but each other and the clues left behind they have no choice but to wonder what's the truth and whats a lie.
97- You Wonderful Motherfuckers by BeyondPhantomhive [Explicit]
In which the Bakusquad unwittingly get Bakugou and Midoriya together through a series of pranks.
98- torn fur, blunt teeth by SageMasterofSass [Past Non-Con]
After eight months of being collared, Izuku is finally free. But a dark, stormy city is no place for a lonely shapeshifter on the run.
99- Get on my Level by Mikacrispy
Bakugou Katsuki is a Pro Hero whose boss demands him to take an intern. Midoriya Izuku is a UA student who needs an internship. When the two of them are put together, they learn about what it truly means to be a Hero and what it means to be in love.
100- Just Like The Comics by brichibi
If this were anything like the comics, Izuku Midoriya being quirkless would be the norm while heroes would be treated as a rarity. As it stands, everyone’s got a super power, except for Izuku, of course. No worries, though, because he’s over it (nope) and has moved on to bigger and better things (again, nope) like working at a tiny comic book shop and indulging in stories where being able to lift a bus with your bare hands was deemed impossible until proven otherwise.
Oh, and running into your heroic ex-boyfriend? Also unlikely. But Izuku’s life isn’t like a comic book (maybe?) and Katsuki Bakugou is standing right in front of him: still perfect, still handsome, and still putting his combat booted foot in his mouth.
[Or: AU where Izuku works at a comic book shop because that’s as close to a hero as he’s gonna get, and Katsuki plays the part of heroic ex-boyfriend who is good at everything except winning Izuku back... maybe]

Spork Introduction
CHEL: Hi! I go by Chel, they or she pronouns, and I’m the one spearheading this project. I still like at least a fair percentage of Homestuck, but after the ending disappointed me a great deal, I got bitter, and when Hussie pissed me off further by Godwinning himself, I decided to do something about it. I’m no longer angry about it, but I felt I’d benefit from picking out what I hate from what I love so I can focus on the latter without annoyance getting in the way, and also to benefit my own writing efforts.
BRIGHT: Howdy! I’m Bright, and I got into Homestuck fairly recently. After ploughing through the archive and digesting for a while, I realised that I was thoroughly annoyed by how something enjoyable had fallen apart so comprehensively. I am looking forward to the time-honoured practice of ripping the story apart to identify its weak points and shout at them.
FAILURE ARTIST: Hello, I’m Failure Artist (call me FA for short), she/her/herself pronouns, and I’m so old-school they burned the school down. I was introduced to Homestuck via Something Awful’s Webcomic thread. I checked the old mspadventures.com site and the latest update was [S] John: Bite Apple. After watching that bizarre piece of animation, I had to know what the hell happened before then. I found I enjoyed the wit of the comic though I didn’t really care much about the plot. It was only when Act 5 came around that I became a serious fan. I currently have 122 Homestuck works on Archive of Our Own. I have a lot of free time, you see. I am very disappointed in how Homestuck ended. Possibly there was no completely satisfactory way it could end but it still could have been better. I feel like Hussie was a juggler who threw a lot of balls into the air and ignored them as they fell to the ground and some fans think not catching them was a master move since you’d expect he’d try to catch at least one. Sadly, lots of the problems with the ending are embedded deep within the canon.
TIER: Hi hi. I am Tier, a very late newcomer to the wonderful world of Homestuck (2018 reader!) and average fan overall. I love this webcomic to bits, but the low points are deep and I enjoy seeking out what the heck went wrong. Not particularly analytical myself, hope that's cool!
CHEL: Cool by us! We’ve already done plenty of analysing before we started, as you may realise from my Tumblr’s “homestuck ending hate” tag (at @chelonianmobile).
FAILURE ARTIST: But let’s put that aside for a moment and talk about the good stuff.
Homestuck is incredibly innovative. It is the first true webcomic. It’s not just a print comic posted online. It uses not just still images and words but also animation, music, and interactive games.
Homestuck is the latest adventure in the series MS Paint Adventures. MS Paint Adventures started as a forum adventure. In forum adventures, the OP acts as a sort of Dungeon Master and other forum members give them prompts. Andrew Hussie’s previous works under MS Paint Adventures were Jailbreak (which is little more than Hussie dicking with the prompters in scatological ways), Bard’s Quest (Choose-your-own-adventure), and the actually-completed Problem Sleuth. Problem Sleuth lacks the music and animation and despite the weird physics shenanigans is a simpler story than Homestuck. The characters aren’t even two dimensional.
Homestuck (and the previous MS Paint Adventures minus Bard’s Quest) are set up like adventure games. Adventure games are where the player is a protagonist in a story and are usually focused on puzzle-solving though sometimes there’s combat. In the beginning, these games were purely text. The player would type what they wanted to do and the game would spout back text describing it - assuming the computer parser understood you.
CHEL: Oh god, I HATED that. I wasn’t around for the heyday but I’ve played a couple and
Pale Luna
was barely an exaggeration (horror warning).
FAILURE ARTIST: As graphics improved, adventure games started using them, but the commands were still in text. Only later was the point-and-click interface created and players didn’t have to guess what exact sentence the computer wanted them to type. Homestuck and the other MS Paint Adventures play with that frustration while paying tribute to the genre. The game within the comic uses RPG elements but the comic itself is set up like those good ol’ adventure games. In the beginning, Homestuck was guided by commands from forum members. Even after he closed the suggestion box, he used memes and fanon created by readers.
CHEL: How good an idea this was varies, as we’ll be showing.
We probably don’t need to describe Homestuck much more. Everyone here who hasn’t read it will doubtless have heard of it. Almost everyone with a Tumblr will have seen fanart, almost anyone at a convention will have seen cosplay. Shoutouts have been made to it in professional works such as the cartoon Steven Universe, and the Avengers fandom latched onto “caw caw motherfuckers” as a catchphrase for Hawkeye to the point that it’s now often forgotten it didn’t originate from there.
FAILURE ARTIST: The Homestuck fandom term “sadstuck” for depressing stories/headcanons somehow leaked into other fandoms. Using second-person is actually cool now and not just for awkward reader fics. Astrology will never be the same again.
CHEL: Now, in the interests of fairness, we will say that when Homestuck is good, it’s amazing, and it’s good often. The characters at least start out appealing and are all immediately distinguishable; even with the typing quirks stripped, it’s easy to tell who said what. The magic system is one of the coolest I’ve ever seen, who doesn’t love classpecting themselves and their faves? Hussie also shows a lot of talent for the complex meta and time travel weirdness, and it is fascinating to watch a timeline thread unfurl. And whatever else one says, it’s a fascinating story that’s captivated millions. I think it is deserving of its title as a modern classic.
However, as the years have passed, we have ended up noticing problems, big and small, and they nagged at us until we decided it had to be dissected. Our intention here isn’t to tear apart something we loathe entirely. It’s to take a complex work and pick out what works from what doesn’t. As I said, when Homestuck is good, it’s very very good. But when it’s bad, we get problems of every scale from various offensive comments to dragging pace to characters ignoring problems and solutions right under their noses to an absolute collapse of every theme and statement the comic stood for before.
The comic is ludicrously long; eight thousand pages, or thereabouts, to be specific. Officially one of the longest works of fiction in the English language, in fact. Naturally, we can’t riff that word by word in any timeframe short of decades, and we can’t include every picture, even if that was permitted under copyright law. Instead, as comics have been done here before, we’ll recap most of the time, and include sections of dialogue and pictures when particularly relevant to a point.
Here are the counts we’ll be using, possibly to be added to later if we find we forgot anything. Most of these counts will only start to climb post-Act 5, but we’ll be keeping track of them from the beginning. Most of them could have been fixed with a decent editor, which is sadly a hazard of webcomics, but still frustrating to read.
TIER: Note: we started this endeavor months before the thought of a "technically not but still we'll count it" set of canon epilogues were a twinkle in the eyes of the fandom. That is, by the way, a whole 'nother can of worms that will be dealt with at a later date if that ever comes around. We're judging Homestuck the Webcomic as a whole, so no after the credits stuff is to be noted for whatever reason.
ALL THE LUCK - Vriska Serket constantly gets a pass or gets favored over every other character. This count is added to every time she pulls some shenanigans with which others wouldn’t get away. ARE YOU TRYING TO BE FUNNY? - Sometimes it’s not entirely clear whether a thing is supposed to be taken seriously or not. We don’t require hand-holding through every joke, but when, for example, we’re supposed to take one instance of violence seriously while a similar case is supposed to be funny, this count goes up. CALL CPA PLEASE - Instances of creepy sexual behaviour (and perhaps particularly gratuitous acts of violence) from the thirteen-year-old cast. Now, mileage may vary on this one. We won’t pretend that thirteen-year-olds are perfect pure angels, especially thirteen-year-olds growing up in what is openly supposed to be a nightmarish dystopia. However, when full pages focus on said behaviour, there comes a point of it being very uncomfortable to read. Clarification: does not refer to cases where the adults do something heinous, this is strictly when the kids do. CLOCKWORK PROBLEMATYKKS - When an offensive joke or comment is made, particularly when not justified by the personality of the character involved, or presented in the narration as being okay. GET ON WITH IT! - When the pace drags. ‘Nuff said. Hazard of the format, but it makes archive bingeing very annoying. GORE GALORE - For unnecessary and/or excessive torture porn which is treated less seriously because it features troll characters, and therefore less “realistic” blood colours. HOW NOT TO WRITE A WEBCOMIC - When the comic does something mentioned in How Not To Write A Novel, and it isn’t justified by the webcomic format. HURRY UP AND DO NOTHING - Characters repeatedly neglect to do something about or even react to terrible happenings, either because they don’t care even if they should or they forget they have the capacity. Not necessarily anything to do with their magical powers, either - characters ignore personal problems that are right under their noses, too. IN HATE WITH MY CREATION - For reasons that are unclear, Hussie chose to create characters he apparently hated writing, or at least ignored in favour of others. Every time he’s clearly disrespecting one of his own characters, this goes up, whether it’s by nerfing their powers or changing their personalities. RELATIONSHIP GOALS? - Romantic relationships in particular get fumbled quite often. Ship Teasing is used with skill, but that skill tends to be lost when the characters actually hook up. Fumbled friendships and family relations can also come under this heading. SEND THEM TO THE SLAMMER - When characters other than Vriska get away with something morally questionable. Covers everything from sexual harassment to not trying to save people from the apocalypse. SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS - Later on in Homestuck’s run, Hussie tried to make up for the offensive humour and casual -isms counted by Clockwork Problematykks above. How successful he was at this varied. This count goes up whenever an attempt at progressivism is waved in front of the reader but doesn’t stand up under scrutiny. WHAT IS HAPPENING?? - When the already confusing plot kicks it up a notch. Admittedly this is as much a selling point of the comic as it is an issue, but either way, we’re going to keep track. Points will be added to when it gets confusing, and taken away when a previous confusing thing is explained adequately. WHITE SBURB POSTMODERNISM - What is shown about Alternia repeatedly contradicts what we’re told about how different it is from Earth. For example, trolls still use heteronormative terms even after it’s established they reproduce bisexually, and the demonstration of the class structure doesn’t always add up. This count goes up every time that happens. It also goes up every time something happens which strongly implies Hussie was envisioning the human kids as white, despite his later claims that they were always supposed to be “aracial”, and every time their economic statuses don’t add up either.

Graveyard Dirt: Make your Own!
Hey all! I’ve been working on a ritual recently and so far it’s proven very fruitful and I thought I’d share it with you all. It’s a long read, but might be useful!
Why do we Want This?
As a Bone Witch, Death Witch, whatever you’d call me; graveyard and grave dirt are items that call for use in my craft. However, the acquisition of proper graveyard dirt is challenging for some, both physically, spiritually, and morally. You deal with having to go to a cemetery, somehow not seem suspicious bringing in a trowel or shovel and a jar. In addition to this, being respectful and spiritually mindful, enough to take something away from a place of rest for the dead (that are far more used to having things left for them/given to them). Plus, finding a cemetery where the practices of your craft won’t disturb spirits who would rather you not use their property for something their own beliefs conflicted with (that’s how you get all sorts of nasties following you home). And even when you felt as if you’ve bargained with a spirit or left something in return, we have to be careful that our own wants don’t get in the way of what we should be listening to. But without a body, how are you supposed to make a grave?
Graves
Well, it’s time to talk about what a modern grave actually consists of and the different flavors they come in. Often times the first thought of a grave contains these objects- A tombstone, a coffin, and human remains. Though today there are many accepted methods of ‘burial’. Another grave may consists of- A headstone, an urn, and cremated human remains. Or a simple marker, and a tree grown from cremated remains. A body could be cremated and spread into the environment, shot into space, turned into a diamond, or a paperweight. These can also be considered to constitute graves. In the case of spread cremains, an entire area under a name can be considered a grave- a mountain, a river, a prairie, etc.Even a simple tombstone, marker, plaque, or otherwise without human remains can still function as a grave for those who, through unfortunate circumstances, have never been found or bodies never recovered.
Going by this line of logic, practically any space on Earth can be considered a grave so long as there is a strong enough emotional and spiritual connection to a particular marker or environment, with or without any presence of human remains, that exists as the end of life’s journey.
Time to Make a Graveyard
With these things in mind that I’ve written above, it’s time to build your own graveyard. This ritual takes place over two days, possibly more depending on your outcome. This includes the materials for both creating a small grave and for banishing any other unwanted entities that may try to slip in. So let’s get to it!
You will need:
Something to act as a Grim (optional but recommended)
River Stones (3-5 per grave)
A Poppet (One for each grave you make. BIODEGRADABLE.)
Bay Leaves (One per poppet)
Pen or Pencil
Coins (two per poppet)
Candle (Black or White)
Salt (Black Lava Salt preferably for color correspondences)
Protection Sigils (of your choice)
Key (preferably iron)
Coffin Nail (or any other iron nail)
Lantern (An actual one or a homemade one, like a mason jar with a temporary handle)
Small Offerings (milk, bread, or honey)
Flower petals (optional)
Graveyard Grim
An extra step of security for your little graveyard and a tradition from the past in which an animal (normally a dog) would be the first thing buried within a graveyard to act as a gatekeeper, protect the dead, and to drive away evil from the cemetery. But we don’t have to go burying dogs or any animals really. You just need something that can act as a force of protection. This might be another spirit you’ve encountered in your work, any part of an already deceased animal that you feel is up for the task, or possibly a deceased pet if you have a loved animal buried on your property. You could also craft a ‘Gargoyle Grim’ out of a biodegradable material that you can bury, as gargoyles are also considered to be protectors but are simply crafted by hand. For this purpose, I’ve got a buck skull that I work with often who was up to the task. For him, I simply inscribed a custom sigil (you can make your own, to enlist the animal as a grim)  into the forehead with chalk and then wiped it away. Should I need to move locations, I can reenlist it elsewhere.
Bring out your Dead!
This is the portion of the ritual that is most important. Preferably at dusk- We want to create poppets that will function as the ‘bodies’ for our graves by inviting spirits into them, lost souls wandering long forgotten or who were never given proper grave sites or burials.
For mine, I preferred the old changeling way by using a bundle of twigs since, in historical stories, fae could create a changeling from a bundle of twigs via enchantment to swap with a living person. I’ve secured it with cotton string to ensure it can decompose after it is buried.
Tumblr media
You can also create them out of other biodegradable materials as well, preferably linen, muslin, or cotton like this one which has an area stuffed with lavender and rosemary.
Tumblr media
Afterwards, we want to safely invite spirits to take up residence within these new ‘bodies’ for burial. This is where you’re gonna need your Bay Leaves.
Tumblr media
Take one for each poppet and in ink or pencil, draw a door onto each one. Bay leaves have protective properties and will also act as another ‘screening process’ against evil entities that might try to slip in. This door acts as the invitation for the spirit to enter. The door can be any shape and can be as well illustrated or as crudely as you want.
Tumblr media
Afterwards you’re going to secure these leaves to each poppet. This is where you need your Salt and your Candle. This period will constitute as the ‘showing’ of the body or a wake. I recommend this process take no less than a half hour to give an appropriate amount of time for the ‘body’.
I placed my poppets on my altar, where I’ve also got my statues of Osiris, Isis, and Anubis keeping watch. Here, you can ether put your salt in a dish or spread it in a circle around the poppets. I preferred a small dish to keep things tidy. Black Lava Salt in particular is good in absorbing negative energy and can assist in drawing anything negative away from the poppets as they lie out.
Tumblr media
Once you’ve lit your candle, you can either say this incantation aloud, write it down (and tear it or burn it if you want), any way that puts it out into the world. It will act as your invitation.
At lonely dusk and dimming lights   I've lit for you a candle bright   Lost spirits, ghosts, without a home   I've dug for you a fine abode
For I'm a witch, and as witches do   here I've made a grave for you   wander no longer, you sad and lost     sink beneath the soft warm moss
I'll take some dirt from time to time Pay no heed, your grave will shine In sun and rain and standing mist A reminder that you did exist
Those kind, those true, no evil or blight Follow now this candle light Rest, sweet dead, within your plot A peaceful epilogue time forgot
Keep your candle lit for the appropriate amount of time, then blow it out. Let them rest until morning and then you can proceed with the burial the next afternoon or evening.
Grave Plots
So now we’ve got our bodies. Time to ready the gravesite and procession. This is where we’re going to start with our River Stones. Take the one that you want to use as the main marker for each grave, take your Chalk, and draw a keyhole shape on the underside of each one.
Tumblr media
These will be your grave markers but also play a special role in banishing if it need happen.
Arrange your river stones and dig a hole, just deep enough that rain won’t unearth the whole thing. The poppets don’t have to be large unless you want them to be, so the graves can also be rather inconspicuous.
After this, you’re going to take your lantern and light it. This part can take place at any time of day, but the closer to midnight it gets, the thinner the veil is.
Tumblr media
My lantern is a pretty fancy one. But really anything will do- even a mason jar with some string tied around the top. As long as a candle can sit inside it safely. The lantern is to ensure that the flame isn’t put out from taking your poppets inside to out to their plots.
You’re going to want to bring your Coins and Coffin Nail with you and light your Candle again. Repeat the process with the incantation and use the candle to light your lantern. At this point, take your poppets, the nail, and the lantern out to the graves. Set the poppet down into it and with your nail, tap it to the ground six times in the shape of your classic coffin- one time for each corner. DO NOT bury your nail. Repeat the incantation process once more and bury the poppet, place the stones on top of the ‘grave’ as a marker.
At this point, you can go inside and then bring out your coins, offerings, and flower petals and set them up at the grave. Leave the coins for a bit and then retrieve them in the morning. Depending on your beliefs, they will be toll for the ferryman or will be a bit of wealth they can take with them. Again, don’t leave anything out that can’t be reabsorbed naturally by the environment. From that point on, you’ll be free to take the dirt you need from your very own property! I suggest that you keep the sites clean and clear as one might with any grave and keep your spirits happy. Over time, you can probably limit cleaning and offerings to holidays like normal graves.
Oh no, Ghostly! Something BAD got in!
No worries! Maybe after you’ve started your grave, something slipped in during the process, we can’t be perfect with our practices all the time. Now there are some nasties all up in your business and causing trouble. But that’s why we put some SAFEGUARDS in place from the start! Now it’s time to banish whatever it is that’s causing you grief!
You’re gonna take your Key and your Coffin Nail right on out there to the grave of the offending spirit.
Tumblr media
Pick up that good old gravestone you drew a keyhole on earlier. Even if it’s washed off, that action is still in place. Go grab your chalk and redraw it. Take your key, place it to the drawn keyhole, and lock that sucker up! The iron is good for keeping negative entities away and will ensure they don’t bother you during this process. Rub the chalk off of it after that and either bury it or toss it into a body of water. Once that’s dealt with, you’re gonna dig up whatever is left of that poppet. At this point, you’ve ‘locked’ the spirit into place, the keyhole from before being the lock to the grave and the door you drew onto the Bay Leaf. If the Bay Leaf is still intact, rip, bury, or burn what is left of it separate from the poppet.
Take the poppet then and drive the coffin nail through it into the ground. Afterwards, remove the nail and take it back home (be nice to the earth please!) and deconstruct the poppet. Burn it if you can, and then sprinkle the ashes in the corners of your property as an extra precaution against malicious entities if you decide to make a new grave.
Have fun!

Sleeping Beauty (Mark Tuan)-Chapter 3
I apologize for any trauma I may have caused with this chapter.
Genre: Fluff, Angst Warnings: Minor language, might have traumatized some individuals (RIP), loosely edited
Chapters: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / Epilogue
Tumblr media
Mark felt a warm breeze brushing against his face. The sensation made him suddenly alert. He opened his eyes and saw a bright blue sky with puffy white clouds passing by. The soft grass beneath him gave him a sense of comfort.
Turning his head to the side, he saw a mix of colors from the large amount of roses scattered across the field. He knew this place. He’s been here before, more times than he could count.
He sat up slowly, getting his bearings as he took in his surroundings more. Then he stood up and looked around the meadow. It didn’t take long for him to find what he was searching for.
“Y/N.”
You stood there at the other side of the meadow. Your hair draped around you, and Mark found it strange compared to the usual regal style he’s always seen you in. Your clothes were the simplest he’s seen you in. Instead of the traditional dresses you’ve worn in his previous dreams, your dress this time was pure white and flowed down all the way to the ground. He found it beautiful.
You smiled when he recognized you, albeit a sad smile. You felt guilty, but you began walking towards him at a steady pace, feeling the softness of the grass underneath your bare feet.
“Is this another memory I forgot?” he asked you.
You shook your head softly. “Not this time.” You stood before him. “I decided it was time we spoke.”
Mark took another glance around the meadow. “This place.”
You nodded and looked around as well. “It was our favorite place. We came here to play as children. And as we got older, it became our sanctuary.” You smiled at the fond memories. “Our haven away from the responsibilities required of us. Our place of freedom” Your bright expression turn solemn. “And then, it became a place of mourning.”
Mark swallowed and hesitated to speak. He wasn’t sure how to convey his feelings about everything that’s been happening. He knew he had questions to ask, and you had answers to provide. But he couldn’t figure out how to approach the topic. When he really thought about it, this was his first time actually meeting you in this life.
Before Mark could open his mouth to speak, you interrupted him. “I’m sorry,” you said.
He was baffled, to say the least. He couldn’t understand what you were apologizing for. He felt the blame of everything that had happened up to that point would be his.
“Why are you apologizing?” he asked. “None of this is your fault.”
You reached out and took his hand. He let you pulled him down to sit on the cool ground. You pulled your legs next to you and got comfortable. Mark sat next to you, his legs pulled up and leaning his elbows on his knees. You both faced opposite directions to be able to face each other. Despite the awkward tension in the air, the position seemed a bit intimate, yet comfortable.
You allowed most of your weight to lean against your hand placed on the ground beside you. “The night you…were killed. I gave you some of my magic right before you passed. It was an accident, but it set you on this cycle of pain and suffering. For that, I am sorry.”
Mark shook his head. “Hey, that isn’t your fault. Everything happened because of Jinyoung.” Without thinking, he reached up and placed a hand on your cheek, making you look him in the eyes. “I’m glad I’m still here. No matter how many times I’ve died, I’m glad I have this chance to make things right.”
You leaned into the warmth of his hand and sighed in content. “No matter who you are now, you’re still my prince, aren’t you?”
Mark relinquished something between a smirk and a smile. “I promise I’ll find you. I won’t fail this time.”
Mark sat on a tree stump and twirled the dagger in his hand. A thousand thoughts were swirling in his head, creating a massive storm of confusion and anxiety. His own brother had killed him, more than once. And he couldn’t understand what he could have done to earn such hatred from Jinyoung.
“Why did Jinyoung do what he did?” he asked.
Jackson turned and looked at his best friend. “We’re not really sure. We could never figure that out.”
BamBam was sitting on the ground next to the stump Mark sat on. “We actually didn’t know Jinyoung that well. You never talked about him much. Only thing you told us was that he couldn’t be trusted.
“We assumed it was because he was after your throne,” Jackson continued. “But now we’re not so sure.”
Mark looked up from the blade and furrowed his brows in confusion. “How come?”
“The throne is gone,” Youngjae answered. “After he attacked our kingdom, it was completely wiped out. There was no longer a throne to take.”
“And even now he persists to kill you for good and take Y/N’s magic.” Jackson walked over with Youngjae and stood in front of the two sitting down.
“Sucks for you, man,” BamBam joked.
Mark scoffed and pushed BamBam’s head away, making the boy laugh.
“You guys said this happened hundreds of years ago, right?” Mark continued his questioning. “But how is that possible? I mean…” Mark swallowed and tried to figure out how to phrase his question.
“How are we alive?” Youngjae guessed. He chuckled when Mark nodded stiffly. “It’s part of the curse.”
“Curse? You mean the whole live and die cycle?”
Youngjae sat on the grass in front of Mark and explained. “The night the kingdom was taken by the shadow army and Jinyoung killed you was the night the curse began. When Y/N kissed you, she somehow transferred some of her pure magic to you right before you passed.”
“The vows you spoke to each other before you died that night acted as a sort of spell,” BamBam added. “Kind of like an enchantment. That’s what allowed her to give you her magic.”
“And what exactly did her giving me her magic do?” Mark asked.
“It’s what started the cycle,” Jackson answered. “Her magic is what’s bringing your soul back to life each time. You already know she gets weaker with each life and this is our last chance. On top of that, it dragged everyone who was in the meadow that night into the curse.”
“Immortality?” Mark guessed.
“Not exactly,” BamBam said. “We can be hurt and killed. But we don’t age.”
Youngjae leaned back on his hands. “Funny thing is, we had no idea. We brought our sister here where it was safe. We hoped she would wake up.”
“But after several years, we realized we were the same, as she was,” Jackson finished. “We figured out that were stuck in our age. But so was Jinyoung.”
Mark nodded, taking in all of the new information. But then he realized something. “If he managed to take Y/N, how is this place safe?”
“We had brought her to a different location. But Jinyoung tracked us and managed to take her right from under us. We’re lucky he still doesn’t know about this place.”
Mark remained silent. He mulled over the thought of Y/N being taken while he could do nothing. He wasn’t sure where he was at the time, but he was too afraid to ask.
Youngjae noticed the turmoil on Mark’s face. “Would you like to see her room?”
Mark’s head shot up. “What?”
Youngjae used a key to unlock the wooden door. He moved to the side and allowed Mark to walk in. After a brief hesitation, Mark took a tentative step into the room.
The walls were all built by wooden boards, much like the rest of the cottage. There was a bed fit for a princess against the left wall. The sheets were a gorgeous shade of your favorite color, and Mark gave a small smile at the fact that he knew what your favorite color was. A sheen canopy hung from the ceiling over the bed. Next to the bed on the floor was a soft rug, and a finely crafted nightstand table was against the wall.
On the right side of the room sat a large wardrobe. The birch wood was smooth and outlined with golden accents. Mark could only imagine the amount of clothes and accessories you had shoved in there. Directly across the room from the door was a large curtained window. The curtains were closed, the heavy cloth falling to the floor in a heap. He walked over to the window and moved one of the curtains aside. The sun shone through the glass panes and lit up the room even more. Mark was met with a beautiful view of a pristine lake surrounded by a cove of trees.
“She used to tell us that the view was her favorite part,” Youngjae said solemnly. “She would always sit by the lake and write in her journals.”
Mark turned to face him. “Her journals?”
Youngjae nodded over to a bookshelf beside the wardrobe. It was small, but large enough to hold a few leather-bound books. “She would write everything in those things. Her thoughts, feelings, things that happened. We used to make fun of her for it when we were kids.”
Mark walked over to the bookshelf and picked up one of the books. He patted the light layer of dust off and opened it. He felt bad about going through your private things like this, but he felt like he could better learn who you are.
“I’ll leave you to it, then,” Youngjae said, leaving the room quietly.
Mark skimmed through the words written on the old paper, finding it difficult to clearly see what was written as the ink had faded over time. He could make out a few words, such as his name and the names of your brothers. He smiled as he read what he could about your excitement over spending the day with him.
After skimming a while longer, he closed the book and set it aside. He shifted through the rest of your journals and pulled out the last one. He sat on the edge of the bed and flipped through the pages. The writing was more legible than the others, and Mark assumed that was because the journal was newer. There was nothing except sweet words and your imagination in your entries. Until the very last entry.
“I’ve experienced a most terrifying nightmare.”
Confused and concerned, Mark pulled the book closer to his face to carefully read the words you wrote.
“I dreamt of a dark cloud pouring crimson rain over my kingdom. The walls of the castle were destroyed, broken windows and furniture. The dead scattered across every hall.”
“I was alone. Sitting in the middle of the grand ball room. The lifeless bodies of my loved ones lay around me in a circle. My mother and father, my brothers. My beloved prince. All gone, staring at me with soulless eyes.”
“A black mist surrounded me as I mourned. The menacing glow of purple is the last thing I remember before I had awoken.”
“I do not know what sort of omen this dream may be. I can only hope that it is not something to be feared.”
“The day of my wedding approaches. In a short few days, I shall marry my prince, the same day as his birth. I know on that day, this nightmare will be nothing but a false reality.”
Mark seethed, breathing heavily through his nose. He slammed the journal closed and got to his feet, marching out the door and into the main room. He found the brothers there, sitting on plush cushions as they discussed something quietly. Mark tossed the book in between them, letting it land on the floor with a thud.
“He tormented her,” he growled. “That bastard sent her dreams the same way he did with me.”
“He did what?!” BamBam exclaimed, rising to his feet.
Jackson quickly snatched the book off the floor and flipped to the last entry. He read through it rapidly and clenched his teeth. He closed his eyes tightly and ran a hand over his face in exasperation.
“She never told us about it,” Youngjae said. “Why?”
“It terrified her to death, probably,” BamBam said after reading the passage. “The purple she saw had to have been Jinyoung.”
“He never fully revealed himself to her,” Jackson realized. “She never knew his face or his name. He wanted her to be afraid.”
Youngjae’s shoulders slumped. “There’s no telling how many nightmares he had sent her before the takeover. She could have been suffering from them for days.”
“We need to get her back.” By Mark’s aggressive tone, the brothers knew he was furious.
Jackson stood up and walked over to stand directly in front of Mark, meeting his gaze steadily. “Why are you so determined to save her, Mark?”
Mark looked at him as if he was crazy. “What are you saying?”
“You don’t know her,” Jackson continued. “You’ve never met her. You’ve only met her in your dreams. You’ve only seen what she wants you to see. So why do you feel so strongly about saving her?”
“I…” Mark paused and tried to comprehend what Jackson was asking him. Why did he want to save her? He couldn’t think of any logical response, so all he said was, “I know her.”
Jackson scoffed and gave him a condescending look. “Do you really?”
“You think I’m lying?” he challenged. His anger was already at its peak, but the patronizing tone in his friend’s voice was beginning to tip him over the edge. “You think I don’t want Y/N back? I promised I would get her back, that I would save her. I don’t care if I die in the end, but I can’t let Jinyoung keep her in his clutches. She deserves better than that.”
“And how do you know what she deserves?”
Mark grabbed Jackson by his shirt collar and threw him against the wall, holding him there. “She’s your sister!” Mark shouted in his face.
“And what is she to you?!” Jackson yelled back.
“My everything!” Mark faintly realized the words that left his mouth. He backed up, still clutching Jackson’s shirt in his fists, and his voice lowered to a steady tone. “She’s my everything. I have to save her.”
Jackson grabbed Mark’s wrists and pried him off his shirt. He nodded, content with Mark’s answer. “Welcome back, Prince Mark.”
Mark was dumbfounded. “What?”
“I needed to be sure you were ready,” Jackson said. “Your memories have been returning from your first life. Your feelings for Y/N are genuine. All that’s left now is your magic.”
“My magic?”
Jackson smirked. “Shall we?”
“I hope you have made progress in your search.” Jinyoung gave his two ravens a sharp look.
“Of course,” Jaebum scoffed. “In fact, we found his exact location.”
A sly grin formed on Jinyoung’s face. His eyes shone with excitement as he leaned forward in his seat. With his hands clasped together in front of him, he looked between the two. “Do tell.”
The sun was high past noon as the boys stood in the open field outside of the cottage. BamBam pulled off his sweatshirt, revealing the gray sleeveless shirt he wore underneath. Jackson shrugged off his jacket and tossed it onto the ground.
“We’re going to bring out the magic that’s been laying dormant in your soul,” Jackson said to Mark. “Rely on your emotions and concentrate. That’s how you bring it out and control it.”
“With the other…mes,” Mark said hesitantly. “How long did it take to do this?”
“Well, here’s the thing,” BamBam began.
“We never got this far with your past lives,” Youngjae answered. “Jinyoung killed you before we had the chance.”
Mark let out a humorless laugh. “That’s comforting.”
“Don’t worry, man,” Jackson said, patting Mark’s shoulder. “We got this far. As long as we can unlock your magic, we can save her and stop Jinyoung.”
Mark nodded. He looked at BamBam. “So fire magic?”
BamBam raised his loosely closed fist with a smirk. Mark saw that his hand was beginning to glow a faint red, emanating a powerful energy. “Damn right. Check this out.” He snapped his fingers and a full flame engulfed his hand. He clapped his hands together, causing the flame to split between both hands. He reared his arm back and threw a fire ball at Youngjae.
Youngjae’s reflexes were quick as he waved his arm in time to block the fire ball. It disintegrated into steam. At a closer look, Mark saw that Youngjae’s arm was completely covered in a blue aura.
“Yah!” Youngjae shouted. “Warn me next time.”
“What the hell was that?” Mark asked.
The magic surrounding Youngjae’s arm moved to his hand. He upturned his palm and allowed his magic to take its physical form. “My specialty is water.” A ball of water floated over his palm, small waves moving over it as it turned over in midair. “The complete opposite of BamBam’s. But it makes for good practice.”
Mark turned his gaze to Jackson. “And you? What’s your magic?”
Jackson’s expression turned solemn. “I used to have magic like you actually. Light magic. It’s what started our friendship.”
Mark swallowed. “Used to?”
Jackson was silent. He mulled over his thoughts, debating if he should tell his best friend the truth. With a sigh of indignation, he started to distance himself from the others. As he walked away, he reached down to pull up the hem of his shirt. He revealed his bare chest, and Mark was confused. He’s seen Jackson shirtless plenty of times having lived with him for so long.
“We arrived too late to stop Jinyoung from killing you that night.” Jackson sounded regretful. “We could have saved you. But it’s my fault.”
Mark shook his head. “How is it your fault?” He quickly glanced between BamBam and Youngjae, but they look just as guilt ridden and upset over the story Jackson was about to tell.
“After I left Y/N in her room, I found you and sent you after her. I went to look for my brothers. I didn’t anticipate being surrounded by shadows.”
“Jinyoung’s shadow army.”
Jackson nodded. “I was caught off guard. They messed me up pretty good, to say the least. In fact, I should’ve died that night.”
Mark was speechless. He wasn’t sure what to say, but he knew he needed Jackson to finish the story. He held a secret that weighed heavy on his heart.
Jackson’s watered slightly as he fought with his own self hatred. A black mist appeared suddenly around Jackson’s torso. It swirled around him for a moment before dissipating. “I was struck with a fatal blow.”
Mark’s eyes widened as he observed the three large scars running across Jackson’s body. It began at his right hip and travelled over his chest to his left shoulder. The scars looked like claw marks, and Mark had no doubt they came from one of Jinyoung’s shadows. “What the hell happened?” he asked quietly.
Jackson lightly brushed a hand over the scars on his chest. “One of the shadows got me. I was bleeding out, and they just stood there and watched. Bam and Youngjae showed up and distracted them. Eventually, just as I was about to pass out, one of the shadows got too close. It merged with me somehow.”
Mark watched as a black aura surrounded Jackson. Jackson’s eyes turned solid black, the whites of his eyes gone. He had seen this before.
“Becoming one with that shadow saved my life,” Jackson said. “But not I’ve become this.”
“You’re like Jaebum and Yugyeom,” Mark concluded. “A raven.”
Youngjae nodded. “That’s how Jinyoung creates them. Using his shadows to turn humans into his ravens.”
“After that, they’re no longer human,” BamBam said. “It wasn’t until Jackson used his magic around Jinyoung a few lifetimes ago that he realized he could create minions like that.”
“Then came Jaebum and Yugyeom, and we lost Y/N.”
Mark looked Jackson in the eyes. “So what happens should the shadow leave your body?”
Jackson’s eyes returned to normal and the mist disappeared. “Then that’ll probably be the end for me.”
Jinyoung stood with his hands clasped behind his back. He watched the image projection Jaebum provided with leering eyes, scrutinizing the four men who ran around the field.
“It looked like they were sparring,” Jaebum guessed. “They were using magic.”
“Do you think they’re trying to get stronger to overpower us?” Yugyeom asked.
Jinyoung smirked. “Those fools are trying to bring out my dear brother’s magic. They think they can save her by doing so.”
Yugyeom leaned back in his chair and propped his feet up on the table in front of him. “So what do you want us to do? Should we go kill him like you said?”
“No,” Jinyoung answered. “I’ve decided to torment him a little more.” He turned and faced the crystallized force field you were cocooned in. “It’s his last life after all.”
Jaebum folded his arms and made the image disappear. “So what do we do?”
“I think it’s time we sent my brother a clear message,” Jinyoung said.
Mark opened his eyes and found himself in the meadow once again. He sat up and immediately met your eyes. You smiled lovingly and sat beside him as he sat up.
“Hello, my love,” you said. You reached up and caressed his cheek gently. “You seem different.”
“I feel like myself,” he told you. “My old self. I’m starting to remember who I really am.”
You took in his words, comprehending what he was telling you. Then you let out of small laugh full of relief. Mark couldn’t help but grin hearing the joy in your voice.
“I had hoped for so long this day would come,” you said quietly. You eyes watered as you tried to fight the tears of happiness that threatened to fall.
“If it wasn’t for you, I would have died without knowing who I am,” Mark said. “I feel like that’s happened too many times already. Thank you, love.”
Hearing the endearment fall from his lips once more filled you with glee. You leaned your forehead against his and closed your eyes, and he did the same. You both sat there in comfortable silence, reveling in each other’s presence. You were so close to truly being by his side once again.
“I love you,” you confessed.
Mark raised his hand to cup the back of your neck. “I love you. I truly mean that, Y/N.” He leaned back and looked you in the eyes. “We’re almost there. We’re so close. Just wait for me a little bit longer.”
You nodded enthusiastically. “Yes. I’ll wait as long as I have to. I-“
Your words caught in your throat as you tried to catch your breath. You mouth hung open, your eyes tightly shut. A searing pain radiated through your body. It started from your head, through your arms, over your spine, all the way to the bottom of your feet. You faltered, your strength giving way and forcing you to fall onto the ground.
“Y/N!” Mark hovered over you, clutching you to him. He pulled you into his lap and tried to calm you down. “Y/N, love, what’s happening? Talk to me!”
The pain was beginning to become unbearable. You felt like you were losing yourself, and you knew the dream would shatter any second now. Despite knowing it was a dream, Mark could literally feel the sweat covering your skin in a thin layer. Something was causing you pain in the waking world.
“Y/N, listen to me,” he said as calmly as he could. He was beginning to panic seeing you in so much agony. “What is he doing to you? Tell me how to help you.”
Your hands wildly grasped anything they could. You latched onto his shirt with your right hand, twisting the fabric in your fist. “T-The bar…barrier,” you choked out. “…H-He’s…br-break-ing-“
You were cut off by your own scream as the pain increased. The center of your body flared with a burning heat near your heart. Your strength depleting, your grip loosened. Your ragged breathing grew heavier.
“The barrier?” Mark repeated. “He’s trying to break the barrier?” He hurriedly cupped your face and encouraged you to look at him. “Y/N, can you tell me where you are?” You didn’t respond, and it was then Mark realized you had gone limp. “Y/N? Y/N!” He shook your shoulders to jolt you awake, but you were out cold.
With wide eyes, Mark’s mind ran in an erratic panic. He was stuck in this dream that turned into a nightmare with no way of finding out where you were.
A loud, booming roar stunned him in frozen shock. The sky above him turned black, clouds pulling towards each other and creating a thundering boom over the land. Mark turned around, facing towards what should have been the castle from his first life.
The castle was old, withered, with cracks in the walls and broken stone. Lightning struck at the higher towers, allowing a brief shock of light each time to illuminate the land. The windows and open cavities in the castle glowed with bright purple flames. A second roar sounded, this time louder. A taunting call towards the prince.
A loud crash woke Jackson up with a start. He shot up in his bed and wasted no time in running out the door. He ran towards Mark’s room, meeting his brothers halfway.
“What’s going on?” Youngjae asked.
“No idea,” Jackson answered. Standing in front of the door, he banged his fist against the hard wood. “Mark! What’s happening?”
They received no reply. Jackson huffed and turned the doorknob. Realizing it was locked, he relented and used his magic to break the handle off. He pushed the door open, and they were met with an empty room.
“The window.” Youngjae gestured towards the broken window pane on the other side of the room. It was raining heavily outside. The window was completely shattered, and the stone beneath it broken.
“How the hell did he break through solid cinderblock?” BamBam asked in awe.
Jackson turned around and headed for the exit. “Let’s go find him and find out.”
The three boys braved the harsh weather as they exited the cottage. It didn’t take them long to find the prince. He was sitting on the same tree stump from before, unmoving.
“Mark!” Jackson called as they got closer to him. “What the hell, man? What happened back there?”
Mark’s eyes were closed, his back facing them. He sat silently as he tried to control his outrageous emotions. As the rain water dripped down his face, he spoke in a low tone. “He’s hurting her.”
“What?”
Mark opened his eyes. “He broke her force field.”
BamBam cursed. “This can’t be happening.”
“What do we do?” Youngjae asked his older brother. “We have no idea where he’s keeping her.”
“Yes we do,” Mark said.
Jackson observed Mark carefully. His behavior had changed drastically, but Jackson recognized it easily. It was the prince’s way of expressing his anger, a rare sight.
“Where do we go?” he asked.
Mark stood up and turned to face his friends. He looked down at his hand as he raised it with his palm facing upward. A bright aura formed in his hand before taking a solid form of a blade. The blade was only made substantial by the intensity of Mark’s light magic.
“Take me to the castle.”
Your body lay motionless on top of a stone table. Your hair fanned out beneath you, your arms laying at your sides. Your chest moved slowly as you breathed, signally that you still had life within you. Your face was scrunched up in pain, but you never opened your eyes.
“Even after the crystal was broken, she remains asleep,” Jaebum observed.
Jinyoung nodded, examining you with disinterest. “It is because her beloved is not here to awaken her. The barrier was merely a protection to keep me from coming into contact with her. But now, it’s nothing but dust.”
“So that means you’ve won,” Yugyeom said excitedly. “Her magic is yours.”
“Hmm, yes, that is true.” Jinyoung tilted his head as he looked at your face in thought. “But I think I’ll wait.”
“For what?”
Jinyoung walked towards the window nearby, his hands clasped behind his back. “The prince knows where to find me. I want to see him suffer one last time before I take what’s mine.” A bolt of lightning struck the ground outside, with thunder following a moment after. “Let him come to me. Let him see the life of his beloved princess slip away.”

Chapter 35 Comment Replies
csgt: “Oh, I forgot to mention it in the past chapter, but I definitely got the feeling that Ben having a new normal watch and Gwen replacing the charm with a normal locket means the definitive end of the ‘hero’ part of their story”
Yeah, pretty much. They’re moving on to new stages in their lives as they grow up.
csgt: “So Lucy is now developing real feelings for both Ben and Gwen? Ohhh, that complicates things… Maybe she will find someone else and get over them? Even though now I’m seeing the chances of ‘Bwenucy’ happening raise a little (maybe 5 percent now instead of 1 percent?)”
Things are a little more complicated now. People have been noticing for a while that there is a chance of the story going in the Bwency direction, so this probably made it seem more likely to everyone. You’ll just have to see how it plays out over the rest of the year.
Davidscrazy234: “If this was made into a live action show, like Arrow and The Flash which cast person would u choose for Ben, Gwen, and Lucy?”
Ooh, there’s a fun question! Let’s see…
For Ben, I’d go with David Mazouz, AKA young Bruce Wayne in Gotham. The scenes where he’s partying and pretending to be a spoiled rich kid makes me think he could totally pull off Ben, plus beating the crap out of bad guys is right up his alley.
Tumblr media
For Gwen, I’d say Sadie Sink, AKA Max from the second season of Stranger Things. I’ll admit it’s mostly because she’s a fierce redhead, but she seems talented enough to pull off a character who’s pretty much the exact opposite of Max as well.
Tumblr media
And then for Lucy, I’d pick Elsie Fisher, AKA the voice of Agnes in the Despicable Me movies. She did a live action film with Bo Burnham recently too. She’s such a sweet girl and just seems like a constant ray of sunshine, I think she’d be perfect for Lucy.
Tumblr media
These actors are 15-17 years old now, so I guess it could only work as a sequel to my story at this point, but they would’ve been perfect for it if the series had started like 4 or 5 years ago.
Guest: “I have a question- is Gwen shorter than Ben in this story? Otherwise she wouldn’t have been able to lean into his chest without having her butt stick out awkwardly.”
Haha, yes, Ben is the taller one now. Gwen used to be taller than him, but he hit his growth spurt and surpassed her, which I sort of eluded to a couple times in Year 3. I remember Ben Ten Thousand being really tall, so I figured this was how they would turn out. The drawing I did of them for the story image is a little closer to what I imagine their current relative heights are now.
Tumblr media
Guest: “I’m like the track you’re heading with. Lucy was only featured in one episode in the original and she had so much potential, I always kept an eye out for her. Her characteristics stood out. The wedding when Ben danced with Gwen and then Lucy were really sweet moments. Came for a Bwen fanfic but I’m also in love with Lucy.”
You and me both, my friend. Lucy wasn’t even in the character list for Ben 10 fanfictions until I started this story. If nothing else comes from it, I hope people start to like her a bit more.

Jagcity: “Just a little side inquiry, it seems that Frank loves his daughter (or at least checks up on her) more than Natalie does; I guess Gwen’s mom is simply the stern and frowny type.”
Gwen’s dad is a softie, sort of a typical doting father. Her mom is much more strict, but she’s definitely the one who pushes her to succeed more, which Gwen is mature enough to be thankful for. Ben still finds Natalie mean and scary, and it confuses him that Gwen doesn’t seem to see her that way at all.
Guest: “that bathroom scene was the first time we’ve seen Lucy expressing her true intentions and emotions behind her cherrful happy go lucky mask and she seems to be conflicted… she cares for others which is why she wants Ben and Gwen to be there for each other but at the same, even though I can’t say she’s human, she’s got emotions. She’s just better at hiding it like Ben.”
We have seen her “mask” slip before, which I think is a good way to put it. Back in the summer of Year 2, she broke down because Joel and Camille were missing. That was an unrelated matter, but I hope it effectively foreshadowed how Lucy might not always be the cheerful, happy go lucky girl she appears to be.
Guest: “This was a really effective chapter and it only was that way because of the events and progression leading up to it.”
THANK YOU! Yes! Now you all know why I had to write a story the length of a Harry Potter book before reaching this point. I hope the payoff was worth the wait.
Guest: “I don’t know how to root for right now, it’s like Toradora all over again.”
I’m really glad you brought up Toradora, which is hands down one of the best romance anime out there. It wasn’t one of the biggest inspirations for my story (which would probably be Oreimo in addition to Little Moments), but I can definitely see the similarities.

Guest: “Since you mentioned you’re in college, what’re your aspirations and plans for the future? You’d do great as a author, writer for animes, characters and novels judging by what I’ve seen from you. You seem to have an interest in gaming so you could have a certain paths on that or just take it as a way to kill time. Whatever you’re gonna be in the future you sure as hell are gonna be successful”
Thank you for saying so! I actually graduated about a year ago, but I started writing this story while I was still in college. I’m currently working as an engineer at a medical device company. I have no real training or experience as an author, so I’ll probably just stick with fanfiction as a hobby for now. I’m also learning to draw in the anime art style, so maybe I’ll try making a fan manga at some point as well. In the past, I’ve competed in really low level Super Smash Bros and Magic the Gathering tournaments, but I couldn’t see myself making a career out of it. In about a year or two, I plan to decide if I wanna stick with what I’m doing or go back to school for a bit to transition into something else. I have a friend who got into the game design industry after he graduated, which is something I would love to do as well. Becoming a teacher is another option since I like working with kids and I used to tutor other students in math, science, and programming, plus my aunt is a middle school math teacher. I also have a friend who got into writing for television after he graduated. I was mostly joking, but I already made him promise that if he ever somehow makes it big and gets his own cartoon, he’ll let me voice the villain since I’m “basically already the villain in his life.” I know a lot of my readers are in college, so I just wanna say to all of you that life can be pretty cool after you graduate, and I hope you all do as well as my friends and I have.
Guest: “Do you think Joel is dead in the Last of Us Part 2”
I don’t think so. Wasn’t he in the trailer? Either way, I know I’m gonna play the shit out of that game the second it comes out.
Guest: “God. Been reading from December and this story’s at the TOP of the Ben 10 fanfic section, well deserved. Gosh bless”
Is it really? Awesome! Also, I thought it was funny how you start the comment with “God” and then switch to “Gosh bless” at the end. Lucy prefers “Glob” because she’s a fan of Adventure Time.
Guest: “‘Shut up and put your hands around me’ Gwen is such a tsundere lmao”
Haha, absolutely! I love tsunderes. Totally my type.
Tumblr media
Guest: “Since you haven’t seen Alien Force... did you by any chance check out Omniverse since some flashbacks involve the friendship Gwen, Lucy and Ben.”
I only watched a few episodes of Omniverse. I even specifically sought out the episodes that had Lucy in them because I wanted more of her. The show didn’t really appeal to me, but I enjoyed the episodes I saw and the Lucy ones were helpful for crafting her character in my story.
Tumblr media
Guest: “We all know Ben and Gwen are gonna end up together and you also mentioned you might write epilogue one shots would it be possible to also write a optionn B) alternative ending where Ben and Lucy got together or would that not fit with the course of the story you’re taking in? Just like how they did Amigami SS, in each 5 episodes, they pair the MC with a girl in alternative ways and timelines of course to see how it would’ve played out. I feel bad for Lucy to be left out and as much as I love Bwen as she does, wish she had her chance too.”
The Bwen ending and the Bwency ending are the only ones that are really on the table right now. I will say that the ending is one of those two options, but I am willing to write an alternate ending for the other one. It’s hard to imagine a Ben/Lucy ending that wouldn’t be completely soul-crushing for Gwen, but I might consider giving it a shot.
Guest: “‘Beeeeeeeen! You...you...You're doing it wrong!’ ‘Give it a rest Dweeb, I'm doing the best I can.’ ‘Ahhhhhhh...Ouch! Wrong hole, Doofus! Do you even know what you're doing down there!?’ ‘Maybe I should've just asked Lucy for help...’”
Hey! How did you get my manuscript for Year 5?? I mean, uh...get this filth out of my Christian Minecraft server.
Tumblr media
Guest: “Just wondering, but is this a purely Bwen fic? It seems kinda sad that I read 200K words thinking that Lucy doesn't really stand a chance. I was wondering how much of a jump it would take for all three of them to get together but it doesn't really matter anyways since you already finished writing this work. I just found this piece about 3 days ago and I gotta say I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I look forward to reading what kind of ending you have in store for these characters.”
It’s not purely a Bwen fic. It was my intention for everyone to know Ben and Gwen were going to end up together from the start, but for it to be unclear at this point if Lucy will be involved with them as well. Some of my readers are more convinced it will happen than others, but like I said earlier, I am willing to write both endings. Only one of them is written right now though.

Until Dawn review (PS4)
David Cage: Frenchman, Legion of Honour recipient, and a video game visionary, he would consider himself a storyteller first and foremost and ostensibly popularised the ‘interactive drama’ genre with the narrative-heavy ‘Fahrenheit’, ‘Heavy Rain’, and ‘Beyond: Two Souls’. However, as well-known as he is for his artistic vision, his other claim to dubious fame is the fact that his abilities can never quite match his ambition. Make no mistake, Cage is no Peter Molyneux and doesn’t exactly misrepresent his games beyond overstating their importance, but they are as synonymous with their clunky gameplay as they are with powerful drama – an important discord in a genre in which the whole point is to tell a story with depth and resonance that players can immerse themselves in when the technical side of these products works against this very goal. However, a good interactive drama game can, like a good film, stand the test of time as a whole work, even if one of its component parts doesn’t. And this too is important because as players we expect older games to be ungainly and less refined than modern releases, so I suppose that if games like this were to have a flaw, clunky gameplay would be a far better one to have than an unengaging story or poor acting.
And thus we come to 2015’s ‘Until Dawn’ - not a David Cage game (and probably better for it), but one that draws from his work in the genre. A pastiche of teen-horror films, Until Dawn follows eight teenagers – the so-called ‘friends’ of twin sisters Hannah and Beth (Ella Lentini) who vanished into the woods surrounding their father’s isolated cabin after a cruel prank played on them the year before. On the first anniversary of their disappearance, the remaining gang are urged by the twins’ brother Josh (Rami Malek) to return to the cabin, ostensibly to commemorate the lives of the missing sisters with ‘the party of a lifetime’. But not all is what it seems, and on top of the creepy and desolate location, the teens will come face-to-face with everything in the encyclopaedia of horror-tropes but the cursed kitchen sink as they try to make it to dawn the next day.
Until Dawn is, for all intents and purposes, a straight-forward success when it comes to achieving its mission statement, which is to say that it’s a faithful recreation of a tried-and-true horror formula with enough twists and turns to keep you engaged in the unfolding story, characters with enough depth and likability to largely transcend the archetypes within which they are cast, and a conceit that makes the best use of the simplistic gameplay. It is possibly the only game I’ve ever played in which I’ve enjoyed and seen as appropriate the inclusion of QTEs – so long has the mechanic been a refuge for lazy designers that I forgot that testing the players reflexes under threat of permadeath can actually be a tense and thrilling experience. It’s also, despite the shoulders upon which it so clearly stands, a unique enough experience that I find myself thinking about it long after it’s over (which is months ago now). You will find yourself becoming attached to the people you’re playing as along the way, feeling appropriately horrified should they fall prey to the many traps the game has to offer. You may also find yourself despising some of them, at which point the full potential of the genre comes to bear as you coax them into a brutal and cathartic death.
But I suspect that my assessment above will divide an audience that has played this game, for as solid as I feel the core of Until Dawn is it cannot escape the fact that, like the genre of film it tries to emulate, the game is a constant balancing act between engaging the audience and repelling them with silliness. Some may indeed find the characters vapid and hollow and I would understand that, because despite the effort to reinforce the importance of player choice in the unfolding narrative there are plenty of times in which you can feel the game take the reins and steer the characters toward a different path from which you took them simply to manufacture drama and keep the story moving. Likewise, I could understand it if you found the constant sexual innuendo unbearable, or the fact that the characters will simply wander around in their underwear during a Rocky Mountain winter, or that for the entirety of the night not once does anyone seek to turn the fucking lights on.
And while I think it was a wise thing to pair this genre of film with this type of game, it’s simply a fact that a good part of the enjoyment of teen horror comes from laughing at a film’s loose ends and frayed seams. The idea that a group of people should come together to commemorate the presumed death of two of their friends with a fucking party in the exact same location from which they went missing is retarded, as is the idea that anyone would crack a joke mere minutes after seeing a friend get minced in front of them, or that you’d prance around in their undies in an unlit, unheated wooden cabin buried in the deep, dark forest. Teen horror films are ridiculous by nature, the choices their characters make are borderline braindead, and so to attempt to recreate this experience for better and worse whilst simultaneously asking a player to engage and invest in the fate of the people making these dumb-ass decisions is a simply an irreconcilable goal. More than once I found myself groaning in genuine annoyance as characters did and said things that were deeply at odds with the things I had asked them to do and say up until that point, in a transparent effort to artificially extend the playtime. The most infuriating moment came with the only character death I experienced, which occurred not as a direct result of my choices but through an incidental and unpredictable series of events that the game told me related to a decision I had made 10 minutes before – a dialogue choice, to be specific, in which I agreed with another character’s plan of action, a plan that takes place regardless of your response. So the choice that kicked off the series of events that lead to the character’s death wasn’t actually a choice at all, it was simply an inconsequential piece of dialogue that the game decided to make a pivotal moment.
These moments of unfortunate incongruity do occur more than once throughout, although they’re rarely as egregious as this. Other missteps include bizarre, truncated conclusions for a couple of the eight characters, who disappear for almost the entire game with only a small epilogue of sorts in which the end of their stories are sorted out, as well as more than one Big Bad revealing itself to be a red herring. In any case, I wasn’t dissatisfied with the narrative overall, but it’s quite clear just how much the writers struggled to balance the need to provide content with the need to keep the player invested in the story.
That said, Until Dawn is easily the highest quality interactive drama I’ve ever played: the cast, led by Hayden Panettiere, perform superbly and manage to tease far more depth out of the characters than one might otherwise expect. Their performances single-handedly elevate the game as a whole, and form one of the crucial pillars upon which Until Dawn manages to stand above its flaws. The story is, for all my momentary criticisms, quite fun and interesting - the sheer amount of clichés within the horror genre offers a deep well from which Until Dawn can and does draw. From the moment you get your hands on the controls you’re left with a sense of dread and foreboding that doesn’t abate, and although your evolving understanding of the circumstances that haunt the characters does result in diminishing returns for the scares as the game winds on, there are still new and interesting plot elements revealed right up until the very final moments of play. An overabundance of jump-scares is mitigated by the fact that, despite how cheap they are, they do still manage to keep you on edge, and there are plenty of moments of genuine suspense provided equally by unsettlingly quiet moments, as well as the terrifying sequences in which you are chased by an unstoppable threat.
And it’s primarily through this quality and its single-minded dedication to providing a genre experience that Until Dawn comes out on top. Like all games of its ilk, it isn’t perfect, and ultimately one could reasonably accuse the ‘interactive drama’ genre of being one giant, coalescent gimmick, but the truly inspired decision here that separates Until Dawn from the others is that the creators chose a wonderfully gimmicky type of film to marry to this type of game. And while two gimmicks together don’t necessarily cancel each other out, in this case they certainly compliment each other to provide what is, in the end, a rather singular and unforgettable experience.
Good
7/10 P.S.
It has taken me fucking months to write this review. I got a new job and lost a lot of writing time, and thus lost my mojo, so please excuse the gap and any perceived dip in quality. I’ve played a lot of games lately, so I hope to post something for Titanfall 2, the Uncharted series, Far Cry Primal, Horizon: Zero Dawn, as well as a few films. Hopefully it shouldn’t take me quite as long to get around to that as it has this. Love, peace, and chicken grease.

Aaah where do i start? Its a bitter feeling to see you abandoning coruscate since its my fav fic but i have to respect your decision. I can see how your style changed- i still love it. I think what drew me most to coruscate was the thrill of "oh my i finally found a good oisuga fic" and i was so so so happy with it and in one day i read everything that you posted until then, and then i waited patiently for new chapters. I like how everything started gradually and layers started to peel off 1/*
I mean, it is a slow burn right? The relavation of their private lives and things they keep deep under and their insecurities and how some stuff were shown to be so raw to me. I love that. I always remember how oikawa cried after suga made him milkbread, its possibly my fav part of the fic . There are so many screenshots i took of my favorite parts and i still have them in my phone. A part of me hopes that you will continue to write the story but whatever happens- i'll deal with2/*
In my mind, oikawa takes suga on a picnic- i feel as much as he's thinking about what to do he'd choose something simple. Gets him some yellow flowers. Yellow is for platonic love but red would seem too much idk. They would enjoy the day and then oiks would finally confess under the stars. Cries. Suga teases. Those two little airheads who dragged this for so long can finally say that they are together. I dont think of much after that- just continuation of what they have + butt grabbing 3/*
I would want to know more about kuroo- his relationships with people and does he finally get on with daichi. What happens with oikawa's family! (omg i almost forgot about this) **This just popped in my mind, suga and oikawa returning to miyagi. Oikawa is astronomy professor who can look at bright stars and galaxies every night (and suga!! uwu), suga takes over his uncles cafe and teaches kids in his free time. Their home and cafe are filled with plants. They have each other and all is good. 4/*
Thank You for writing Coruscate. Thank You for spending time on it and writing it so beautifully. I do hope to meet it again in the future. Until then i will continue to support your other works 5/5
Okay this was so long and so incredibly nice to read and I’m so happy and pleased you enjoyed Coruscate. I really do hope to return to it one day. I want to fix it and finish it and make it so I’m happy with it again.
It was such a wild ride writing it. I was posting so much everyday for so, so long and it was so fun until it wasn’t and gah.
I like your imagining for the end; it’s cute and sweet and sort of similar to what I had in mind, kind of.
Let’s address it real quick:
The next chapter in Coruscate was going to be Oikawa confessing. It wasn’t going to be according to plan but blurted out at the party after heavy flirting with Suga and getting jealous over Suga intentionally trying to rile him up with dancing with other people. This was what I was going to use as the goofy confession.
The real confession would come the next day. Oikawa and Suga would spend the day together and then at night Oikawa would drag him up to the hill (the one from chpt. 18) and then confess once more under the stars and it was going to be very tender and sweet with lots of nice, gentle kisses. Later Oikawa would go home with Suga and they would fall asleep in his bed and then get teased by Nana in the morning.
Then back to Tokyo, Oikawa crushing Kuroo’s volleyball team in a game and Kuroo and Suga making up after it. An official first date for OiSuga at an aquarium and telling their friends that they are together. Oikawa’s sister finding out that he and Suga are dating and family drama and Oikawa’s grandmother putting her foot down and basically telling his dad to stop being an asshole.
And then, them being together and an epilogue. Suga and Oikawa graduating at separate times but getting an actual apartment together. Oikawa becoming a planetarium director at a small little place and Suga becoming a phy ed teacher and coaching volleyball for middle school kids. A house and a home and cat and so many plants and adopting their own child and growing old and happy together.
And that was going to be it.
As far Kuroo and Daichi? Kuroo would be with BokuAka still and at some point Kenma would join in. Daichi would get together with Yui after running into her one day.

Past Lives WW2: Epilogue
This is a little bit of a follow-up to my second Past Lives story, set during WW2, because I’m incapable of leaving finished stories alone
Happy birthday @flathtrash!
2 The Cottages
3rd January 1940
Dear Elizabeth,
I hope you had a good Christmas! Mine was small but good, I am still with the Pentwhistles but Christopher came over for Christmas dinner and we went for a walk but it was very cold so we didn't stay out long! And he had to get back to the farm of course. We should be married next week and I can't wait! I know some old ladies have been muttering because we organised everything so quickly, saying we had to get married, but they will be proved wrong so I don't care.
The weather really is bitter. I gave Christopher his new red hat but I have adopted it back again and am working on a new one for him.
Mrs Pentwhistle has very kindly said that I can wear her veil, she had it in a trunk in her spare room, so that is my something borrowed and something old. I will wear my green suit but I just finished sewing a blouse so I will put that to one side as something new. What do I have that's blue?
A bit funny actually as of course we had to go and talk to the vicar about the banns and he asked my parents’ names and Christopher nearly fell off his chair when I said my father’s name was Sir Alfred Rendell. Possibly should have mentioned it earlier. As we were walking back to the farm for tea he started making noises about it but I pointed out that our father had no sons so the baronetcy (did I spell that right?) is done with, and goodness knows there’s no money, so it doesn’t make any odds. All the good it did me was that I had the education to become a teacher to fend off starvation once the estate was settled.
And yes, I’ve told him about Henry. All of it, even the worst part. I thought about keeping it to myself but I didn’t want there to be any secrets (look what happened to Tess - though I escaped her fate thank goodness, more by luck than good judgement. But let’s draw a veil etc and be glad I found a more decent man than Angel Clare, all in the past now and I hope HW gets shot down and tortured) (I don’t really) (maybe a little bit). ANYWAY Christopher said he didn’t mind if he wasn’t the first as long as he was the last and I thought that was very sweet.
He told me some things about his own family too that I think he was worried would put me off but it just made me want to marry him MORE. I was about to write, I’ll tell you it all when I see you, but heaven knows when that will be so I’ll write it to you another time. Right now I have to

White Horse Farm
11th January 1940
Elizabeth I'm so sorry, I completely forgot I hadn't finished this letter! I wonder what I had to do. Everything has been so busy with the wedding and moving and getting things sorted out now I am the Lady of the House. Can you believe I'm a married woman? I can't! It all seems unreal. But wonderful.
There were some little blue flowers in my bouquet, I forget what they were called, that was the something blue. And snowdrops which made me think of you, though of course I thought of you anyway. Mr Pentwhistle gave me away, he insisted, bless him, he said I was being married out of his house so it was his job to do.
And I have half-forgiven Miss Hope for the unkind things she said, she had arranged for all my children to come in specially in the afternoons in secret so they could learn a song and they sang it to us outside the church and held up boughs as an arch, well, they were more like sticks but I know boughs was intended! My fault for getting married in January. I am going to carry on at the school, there is no one to replace me if I leave and it still leaves me plenty of time in the day to do, well, all the things I was doing when I lived here before!
Speaking of which I have to go and make dinner for my husband (!!)
Your loving sister,
Anna Beaumont (Mrs)
PS Though Miss Hope did say today, about me staying on at the school, that of course I would have to stop when I had a family to think about, and I said cheerfully  ‘oh that won’t be for a year or two I imagine’ because of course she is expecting me to have a baby within the next 6 months and I won’t, and Miss Fawcett was laughing behind her hand, it was so funny
PPS Miss Fawcett is the other teacher she’s ever so nice
