ADDED TRANSCRIPT. I will be adding transcripts to all my posts with comic strips now to make them more accessible. The goal is to finish this by Tuesday, as that's when my queue starts back up.
July 5th, 1818
For my early birthday present, Aunt Helena and Uncle Peregrine have given me a diary they secretly hid in Frederick’s carriage. I will not see them until the latter half of August, as they are to accompany Martha to Picelieri this coming Friday on her engagement trip. It will be a special time for her, and her last trip as an unmarried woman. Ashley and Patience will remain here in Isturia. I will admit, I currently feel silly, as I thought Frederick had given me a gift. He laughed at me when I read that it was from my dear Aunt and Uncle. This was the first time I’ve seen him smile today. He sits across from me and his gaze is fixed upon the passing landscapes. We have just left Elmsworth and have started towards Oakmere to see Frederick’s mother. He was in a frenzy this morning to get to see her and was adamant that we should leave before ten o’clock. He would not tell me why we were leaving so early, so I could only assume something was wrong. There is a certain sadness in his eyes, and he looks like he is on the verge of tears. I just wish I could hold him in my embrace again once more like last night. He kissed me twice yesterday, and I am at the peak of my bliss! That is all I can think about. I do hope whatever is troubling him will be resolved soon. I must stop writing now, as we have just arrived at Oakmere.
TRANSCRIPT:
Peregrine: Ah, Lord Worthington and Aurelia! A blessing to see you both. Oh, are you leaving so soon?
Frederick: I'm afraid so Mr. Ramsbury. My mother awaits me and I must see her. After, I shall take Lady Aurelia to Brindleton, if that is agreeable to her of course-
Aurelia: Oh, yes! I'd love to see your mama.
Helena: Oh, but it's so early! Are you sure you'd like to leave just this minute?
Aurelia: Oh Aunt Helena, he wishes to see his mama and I shall not be in his way.
Helena: But you didn't eat breakfast dear! Surely you're starved?
Aurelia: I was quite fagged from the evening. I have no appetite as of now, and I shall eat at Paelford.
Frederick: I am afraid that I must see my mother as soon as possible. I kindly thank you for last night, I had a wonderful time, but I must go this instant.
Helena: Oh my, well I do hope everything is well with Lady Worthington.
Frederick: I thank you, I bid you both a good day.
Aurelia: Goodbye Aunt and Uncle! I love you both dearly. Please give Ashley and Martha my love.
Peregrine: Goodbye dear child. We shall see you in August! And yes, I shall tell them you've left.
Helena: Oh go along now girl before I am consumed by tears.
*pearls rustling in container, heavy knocking on door*
Martha: Well good God Ethel, I've told you I'm not yet ready for-

Martha: Our love still remains, It is just going to wait until after I am married.
Patience: What?
Martha: We cannot continue doing the things we do until after I am Mrs. Carew.
Patience: Why do you have to be Mrs. Carew?!
Martha: Patience, because you're a fool if you think I'll die a spinster! I am marrying solely for my own comfort. He has wealth and has promised me a comfortable life. I shall give him an heir and he will be happy.
Patience: So you do not love him?
Martha: Heavens no! I am doing well by my family for accepting his proposal. My parents will have a grandchild because God knows you and Ashley cannot seem to conceive one. Then all is well.
Patience: Do you promise me you do not love him?
Martha: *kissing neck softly* My darling, I shall never love one like I love you.
Patience: I cannot bear the thought of losing you. Oh Martha, I was so scared that you stopped loving me.

Countess Cloudia Phantomhive and Victorian Inheritance Customs
With the snippet of the Phantomhive family tree now having been shown in the anime, I decided to make a little post to hopefully answer some of the questions that might come up!
Could a 19th-century English noblewoman...
... inherit her family estate? Yes, she could.
There was no law that stipulated that someone had to bequeath their possessions (estate, wealth) to a male relative. The rich and the noble wanted to protect their possessions, of course, and created wills that ensured that their estates and wealth would not fall into just anyone's hands but remained securely within their (close) family. If there was no close male relative (or none they wished to make their inheritor), it was not uncommon for people to will their possessions to a close female relative instead.
In Jane Eyre (1847), she famously inherits her paternal uncle's entire wealth of 20,000 pounds (the book is set sometime during George III's late reign, making the last possible (full) year 1819; this would make her inheritance 2,32 million pounds nowadays (she only keeps £5,000 = £580,000)) because he chose to will it to her, overlooking, i.a., a nephew simply because he once had a terrible fight with said nephew's father (his brother-in-law/his sister's husband). In The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (1848), Helen is the heiress to her uncle's fortune, not her brother (who inherited their father's estate already). Wuthering Heights' (1847) Catherine Linton (Catherine Earnshaw's daughter) was the heir of Thrushcross Grange.
Female heiresses were not restricted to fiction though:

The rich and the noble had access to a private law system that was administered by the Court of Equity. This allowed noblewomen to have their own estates and incomes, albeit secured by trust funds/trustees. This system protected their inherited family wealth from their husbands even under coverture. (While single women, feme soles, could possess their own property, they would usually lose all rights to it to their husbands upon marriage because of coverture laws. The trust system prevented this.)
Marriage settlements (marriage contracts that, due to their complexity, could only be afforded by the rich) could also protect the daughters of noble and/or wealthy families as they, i.a., stipulated how much money she would receive monthly or annually (pin money), and how much money she would receive upon her husband's death.

This was the best case scenario for women of the upper classes (and the wealthy middle class).

Nevertheless, the rich knew how to protect their wealth, then as now. The aforementioned private laws also helped to pave the way for women of all social classes and statuses to have their own possessions.
Little excursus:
Their vast fortunes also granted certain freedoms to rich heiresses, i.a., the freedom to choose a husband as they pleased. After all, they did not have to think about "making a good match" anymore. They were themselves filthy rich already after all! The fact that their wealth was protected also kept them safer from vultures.

"Love" emerged as a reason for marriage in the late 18th century and became more common and popular throughout the 19th.

However, that never stopped matrimony from being a serious business. No matter what, many people put a lot of care and thought into deciding who to marry. After all, divorces were an expensive hassle until 1857 (previously, one needed a costly Act of Parliament to obtain a divorce, and the process of obtaining a divorce was particularly difficult for women too: between 1827 and 1857 only three divorces that were petitioned by women were granted; the Matrimonial Causes Act of 1857 established a civil divorce court and expanded the rights of women). It was easier for rich women to choose to marry for love; still, many opted to remain cautious nonetheless.
(For example, what about the children one might have within a marriage? Upon a wedded union's dissolution, women had difficulties getting custody of their own children. The Custody of Infants Act 1839 allowed women to petition for custody of their children if they were 7 or under. It took until 1873, with the Infant Custody Act, for the age to be lifted from 7 to 16. It also removed the 1839 Act's stipulation that she would not be given custody if she had committed adultery. Before 1839, the father always got full custody. Caroline Norton believed she made a "good match," only to get stuck with an abusive husband who, i.a., beat her and did not let her access their children upon their separation for years.)
... keep her surname?/give her surname to her husband? Yes, she could.
The nobility and the rich, naturally, were very attached to their surnames. After all, it was their family marker, and they were proud of their family history, may it be because they came from a long line of nobles and/or because their ancestor created the family business that gave them their wealth.
When there was no (suitable) close male heir and a female one was chosen instead, the question arose, "what of the family name?" Women often took their husbands' surname upon marriage after all; in this case, however, it might mean the "end" of their old, history-charged and/or important family name.
So, people simply decreed in their wills that, whoever their heiress married, would have to take her surname upon marriage.
Further, men who wanted to marry rich heiresses, of course, thought the wedding to be an honour and did not want to offend their powerful and wealthy in-laws. They, thus, often chose to hyphenate their surname with their wife's. (And the more important surnames you can show off, the better too!)

Some examples:
Charles William Stewart took his wife's surname Vane (not even hyphenated!! it fully "replaced" his) when they got married in 1819 because Frances Vane was a rich heiress and her father stipulated in his will that her future husband had to take her surname, period.
In 1811, John Ward changed his surname to Ward-Boughton-Leigh after marrying Theodosia de Malsburgh Boughton-Leigh. "Boughton" is the maiden name of Theodosia's mother, "Leigh" her father's surname. She was the only heir to the fortunes of both her parents, so all families had to be honoured.
The marquessate of Salisbury belongs to the Gascoyne-Cecil family. Up until 1821, the family name was just Cecil. "Gascoyne" comes from Frances Gascoyne who married James Cecil; James hyphenated his surname with hers. She brought a considerable "Liverpool fortune" into the family. The Cecils were (and are!) very powerful and they still changed their surname.
Men also retroactively changed their surnames to their wives' maiden name if she suddenly received a great inheritance. (This could lead to some fun names like "Cresswell Cresswell.")
... hold a noble title in her own right? Yes, she could.
Henrietta Godolphin was the Duchess of Marlborough in her own right (suo jure) because of an act of parliament in 1706. (Her younger brother was meant to inherit the title but he died before their father and it went to her instead.) Henrietta's eldest son William became heir apparent to her dukedom (and his father's earldom, but that would only have been a "secondary" title because dukes > earls). Unfortunately, her son predeceased her, and the title went to her nephew instead.
This was not the first or last case of a woman holding a title in her own right. The Wikipedia article on suo jure lists more such cases.
Also: Vincent and Francis are full siblings! (Yana's tweet/Ducky's translation)
No matter whether Cloudia was married to Cedric or not, Vincent and Francis would never be bastards and always legitimate children in the face of the law.
*Note: Laws on women's property rights/custody/divorce/etc. changed multiple times throughout the 19th century; their effects on women also differed amongst the different social classes. As this post is about Cloudia's (possible) situation, it mostly deals with laws and such that would have applied to her as a noblewoman (late 18th to mid-19th century/1866).

anyways. I have gone through the transcripts and taken notes on how John and Arthur use "my"/"our"/"your" in regards to their eyes and hands over the seasons, if anyone else is interested in that (it's mostly just for myself tho tbh)
TL;DR: - s1: Arthur says "my" (all around). John says "your eyes" but wishy-washies on "my hand"/"your hand"/"our hand". - s2: Arthur switches to "your eyes", "our eyes", and "our hand". John still mostly says "your eyes" but has settled for now on "our hand". - s3: Arthur says "my" when talking to Yellow, and "your" when talking to John. Arthur starts calling John "my eyes". John finally starts saying "our eyes", but perhaps goes back to wishy-washing on "my/your hand/arm"(? could be context of the moment) - s4: no one refers to anything. Arthur continues calling John "my eyes". - s5: John now says "my eyes" and "my hand" consistently. Arthur says "your eyes", doesn't mention the hand
(Disclaimer that I may have missed things. I used ctr+f for most of this, so any time they phrase it funny I do have to find it the old fashioned way by stumbling into noticing it on relistens)

Throughout season 1, Arthur consistently refers the the eyes and left hand as "my eyes" / "my hand", aside from one instance of "keep your eyes-[open?]", and one instance of "with our hands cuffed..." (same conversation, John says "with your hands cuffed"). John consistently says "your eyes", aside from phrases such as "their eyes meet (y)ours" where he switch pretty 50/50 between "yours" and "ours", and when using the phrase "my eyes were playing tricks on me" which Arthur then corrects/reprimands him for. Immediately after gaining control of the left hand he refers to "my (left) hand and yours (right)" separately, before switching to "your (left) hand" and occasionally "our (left) hand". There are also a whole ton of references to "[my/your] hands" in plural as belonging to Arthur.
Arthur begins consistently referring to the eyes as "your eyes" and "our eyes" throughout s2, John mostly still says "your eyes" (with one reference to something "tricking my eye" and one "it’s difficult to keep my eyes on [...]"). Both refer to the left hand as "this hand" on occasion, and as "our hand" throughout the pinkie biting scene. John says "your left hand" once or twice when guiding Arthur. Arthur says "your hand" once when threatening John, and "my hand" once when talking about what he has lost, to the KiY.
At the beginning of season 3, immediately after meeting Yellow, Arthur refers exclusively to "my eyes" (even when telling Yellow to "keep my eyes open", a phrase that has historically been an exception). Yellow refers once to "your eyes" ("I am a prisoner, trapped in your eyes") (Yellow also refers to the left hand as "your hand", but given that, unlike John, Yello does not control it, that doesn't really say anything interesting)
Immediately after getting John back, Arthur refers to "your hand" when saying "you have your hand back". There aren't many references to their eyes, but both use "our eyes" at least once in s3. Arthur also refers in a specific instance to "my eyesight" when talking about what he's lost, and one time refers to John as "my eyes" (and "my conscience" too. which isn't techincally relevant here but I can't just not mention that). John refers to "your arm" when urging Arthur to take care of a wound that it seems only John can feel (thus, presumably the arm John controls), but says "my hand" when saying he doesn't want to touch something later. He also refers to "your hand" ambiguously a bunch of other times, with very little evidence either way which he means.
In season 4, Arthur once again refers to John as "my eyes". Aside from that, there's not a lot to be said about s4. The majority of references to hands and eyes is either John talking about other people's hands or the Butcher asking about Arthur's eyes, rather that John and Arthur talking about their own.
In season 5, John consistently refers to the hand he controls as "my hand" (with one instance of "our left hand"), his references to "your hand" are more often clearly referencing Arthur's right hand. He also consistently says "my eyes" or sometimes "our eyes" (with one exception for "keep your eyes-" when giving direction where to look). Arthur refers to "your eyes" and "our left hand" each once. (Arthur also refers to "my other hand" once, which may refer to the left hand, but it isn't entirely clear from the context)
(Side note: Arthur and John both refer to their hands in plural as being Arthur's throughout the seasons. I assume this is generally more a neutral ease of communication thing, rather than a statement of ownership, which is why I haven't really mentioned it in the rest of this post, or tracked it closely. But it could be noted that this does happen by far the most in s1, and then rarely-to-never in s4-5? and I got the impression that Arthur perhaps refers to his own hand separately more often in s4-5 as well, but that could just be a matter of context. If you wanna read too deeply into it tho, go ahead! I probably will be)
I might make a post with an actual point + personal thoughts and opinions on this at some point? or at least go through the instances of them correcting each others' usage of words like "me"/"my"/"you"/"we"/"our"/etc because that is what initially inspired this ...buuut rn it is far too late at night and I have already been scouring transcripts for hours. so leaving this here for now

Tho I also plan on digitizing and turning this into a zine of it if once it has enough material. As I do love sharing and reading different alterhuman experiences!
I saw many journals opened with an explanation of what alterhumanity is about and wanted to do the same. Tho very aware it's hard to summary such a broad spectrum of experiences. So I hope I did it justice ^-^

I am not sure if I made this up but I swear in Brian’s episode of NDA he and Dave refer to Sam as their little boy and I thought it was adorable. I need to know this clip exists and I’m not going insane. I think it’s around 11:30 in the episode.

but also. you're right, it is so adorable!! look how proud they are of him!! i feel like sometimes Sam's just a little guy to all of them, you know. like, also when he was worried about the getaway crew and recounted how Valentina told him that he should stop worrying about the crew so much. or when Amy part-jokingly part-sincerely said that he was trying to be nice about her reality tv obsession and said something about her genre knowledge instead of joking about it. like, sometimes in a game sense he fucks them over but sometimes he's just. a little guy
