After working with Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar believes Ranveer Singh's energy was a "cultural shock" for him; he calls him "most indispensable" in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was directed by Karan Johar and starred Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Karan Johar, who just released Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, praised Ranveer Singh on set for his energy and passion. Working with Singh, according to Johar, was a "cultural shock" after working with Ranbir Kapoor, who is known for his more controlled enthusiasm.

"No one brings the kind of energy to a film set that Ranveer Singh does," Johar said. "And before this, I had worked with Ranbir (Kapoor), who actually used to come to the set with a very calm, composed energy during Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. It was a cultural shock for me."
Johar continued, "Then I realised that all the hard work he (Ranveer) puts in, all that enthusiasm and passion he brings, is solely and purely to enhance his performance. I haven't seen this kind of energy before, and I won't see it again, but I knew one thing: he was the most indispensable character in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. There would be no Rocky Randhawa if there wasn't Ranveer Singh."
In terms of the film, RRKPK has earned more than Rs 100 crore at the box office. Aside from Ranveer and Alia Bhatt, the film's ensemble cast also includes Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi.

THE MEET CUTE | Trevor Evarts x F!Reader
I'm so sorry if this sucks!
Summary: As a popular Youtuber and close friend of Chanse, you get invited to be on TNTL and meet an unlikely friend.
Word Count: 614

Being an influencer wasn’t something you ever thought you would be. Granted, you did grow up in the peak age of online content so it shouldn’t have been too surprising when you decided to try your hand at it during the pandemic. You were bored and thought it would help the time pass, it did plus you got five million followers in the span of three years as well.
During that time, you met a friend named Chanse. You two met at a mutual friend’s house and have been best buds since. His humor works perfectly with yours and you two are known for being super close. He used to be in a lot of your videos over Zoom or Facetime which got him some popularity too.
It’s because of Chanse that you are sitting on the Smosh Pit set right now, getting ready to film TNTL. You had watched the series for years so it feels like a dream to be filming it, especially with your best friend being right next to you. You had met some of the cast and crew before shooting but this was something else.
Sitting on the stool, your fingers are typing away when someone walks onto the stage. “Oh, hey, you’re Y/N, right?” A male voice asks and you look up to see the most beautiful man you have ever seen. His light brown hair and facial hair make his youthful face more mature but his glasses help keep his youthful look.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I am. And you are?” You ask, getting off the chair. “I’m Trevor. It’s great to finally meet you, Chanse has said a lot about you.”` You look at him shocked, “I promise that most of it is probably not true.” He laughs while shaking his head. “It’s all been good, I promise. I’ve also seen a few of your videos. I’, excited to see if I can make you laugh today.”
“I’m excited to see you try.” You say, smiling before everyone gets called into place. Since you’re the special guest, you ae chosen to go first. It’s a smooth and funny filming and Trevor is the last one to go.
He comes out in a girly wig and holding a play camera as vlog camera. He lays on the floor and holds the camera in a familiar position before you spit out your water when he speaks, “Hey, hey, hey, all my panbaes.” It’s the intro you used to use back in the pandemic because you thought it was funny.
You soon understood how cringey it was and changed it but it had become a meme amongst your fans and now will get even more attention thanks to Trevor.
The rest of filming goes well before it’s called a day. Walking over to Trevor, you giggle “You did awesome, I genuinely did not expect that to come up.” He shrugs, trying to play it cool.
“Eh, I thought it would be funny. Do a bit of a throwback.” He says, his cheeks getting red. “So, have you seen more of videos than your letting on?” You ask, suddenly feeling more confident.
“Yeah, I used to watch all the time back when the pandemic was happening. I still keep up but not as much as I used to. I really like your stuff.” You smile and feel your cheeks heat up at his confession.
“Well, I would like to thank you and would also like to ask if you wanna get lunch sometime. Maybe we can discuss some of your past stuff, Mr. Streamer.” He chuckles and nods, “Yeah, yeah I'd like that a lot.”
“Okay, it’s a date then.”

When Life Gives You Tangerines.
"Parents dwell on what they couldn't give, children dwell on what they couldn't get."
When Life Gives You Tangerines made me ponder whether I should ask my parents to watch it or not. One part of me thinks that they should watch it to observe the joys of life, the honor of struggle, the celebration of completing an existence successfully. The other part of me fears that they will find things that they might have missed in their own lives, especially my mom, and it'll end up making them sad. So to mom and dad, the first 6 episodes are still in dad's pen drive. Just plug it in the tv and call me if you ever finish the first 6 episodes, I'll make sure to show you the rest of the episodes.
As for me, I enjoyed this show. I can recommend anyone to watch it, because I think it really puts the whole "family is tough" saying in perspective. Your parents used to be children too, and perhaps they never grew up- it's something I'll always try to keep in mind.
Gwang-rye became my favorite character of the show in just 1 episode. Her struggles to love her child and fighting to keep food on the table struck a chord with me. There maybe a million Gwang-rye's out there, but not everyone is blessed with an Ae-sun.
Yang Gwan-sik is one of those genuine souls that I had the luck to witness. Both the adult and young adult versions of Gwan-sik were perfect. The final episode made me tear up quite a bit, and I was glad that they ended the show that way. His love for his wife and daughter were a joy to watch, and although many will say that the son was just a punching bag throughout the show- I'll somewhat agree, but I think his arc also got a proper conclusion.
Ae-sun does remind me of my mother. She wasn't a poet nor did she get married at 18 abandoning her dreams, but there's a significant part of her sacrifices that remind me of my mother. What I'd do to see my mother teach again.
Yang Gwan-sik doesn't remind me of my father, because I know more about Yang Gwan-sik's life than I know about my own father's life. And I'm afraid it'll always be this way. I wouldn't know how to start. Sometimes I'll find my books organized perfectly on my desk, my clothes ironed and kept on the sofa and a few packets of chocolate biscuits on the shelf as if he wants to stay he always cares. Only if I understood him more, maybe I could make him proud some day.
Geum-myeong became the central character for much of the later half, and I didn't mind the shift at all. The show took the risk and went on with it, delivering perfectly on every new decision they took. Which teen wouldn't resonate with her? She's annoyed at her parents, says things she doesn't mean and regrets all of it. She's all of us.
The hospital scene between her and Gwan-sik was such a bittersweet moment. My heart felt something at the scenes of Gwan-sik and Ae-sun visiting their late son's grave. The IMF crisis was a good throwback to 2521 too, shows how significant it was in Korea. The scene where Geum-myeong loses her job, sits next to an older man who suffered the same fate only to see the same man selling pens on a bus a few months later was a harsh reality check. That could've been her.
The show is also a reminder that you don't split your love between your mother and your wife. Their loves are different and complete on their own, not shared parts of one love.
Overall, great show. I'd give it a 9 out of 10. I remember seeing a comment where someone compared the Geum-myeong's first breakup to 2521's breakup and they said something like "this is how it should be" implying that When Life Gives You Tangerines had the better breakup. I remember it, so I think I partially agreed with it. Anyways, worth a rewatch with your family.

Vampire Weekend at Kemba Live!
Vampire Weekend, on a breezy and bright night at Kemba Live! in Columbus, curated a cultural dialogue—a kind of prep-school gospel under the Midwestern stars, where irony and earnestness held hands and danced.
Parents standing shoulder-to-shoulder with their Gen Z kids, a picnic of pre-teens and grad students, dads in boat shoes nodding along to polyrhythms, and all ages in between filled Kemba Live! in Columbus. But that's Vampire Weekend's quiet superpower—this improbable communion. In a world prone to segmentation, they offered synthesis.
The band opened with “Campus,” a fitting throwback that set the tone: collegiate, self-aware, and still tender after all these years. From there, the setlist unfolded like an honors thesis in melodic anthropology. Classics like “Holiday,” “Cousins,” and “Diane Young” crashed joyfully against the shimmering architecture of new tracks like “Gen-X Cops,” “Mary Boone,” and the hypnotic “Ice Cream Piano.” The sequencing felt intentional—like a Socratic dialogue between their Ivy League roots and their ever-expanding sonic vocabulary.
“Capricorn” and “Hope” brought meditation through weight and breath. “Harmony Hall,” perhaps the band’s most crystalline hymn to contradiction, turned the lawn into a luminous, philosophical singalong: “I don't wanna live like this, but I don't wanna die.” Few lyrics cut through the twilight with such elegant ambiguity.
The encore, “Walcott,” was a crowd-pleaser and a benediction. Ezra Koenig and company seemingly suggested that perhaps we’re all trying to leave Cape Cod—or some internal version of it—and that rock and roll, when it’s this smart and this generous, might be one of the few valid exit strategies.
Kemba Live! became a well-lit seminar room under White Skies, where the syllabus was joy, rhythm, and the strange poetry of growing up.

On Thursdays we post throwbacks! It's been a few days since I ran to B&H on my lunch break to drop off film to be developed and printed.

I’m lowkey looking into other places that offer developing and printing services. No shade to B&H of course, I love their work, I just want to try some of the other options available.

Anyway! I was going through the many folders on my laptop and came across a folder with a lot of my earliest film work. As I’ve mentioned, I got started in 2015 when I bought my AE-1 Program. Around that time very similar to when I bought my first camera I was shooting any and everything.

These images were all taken between the Bronx and the Upper East Side (as well as 3 from ‘First Class Fitment’, a car show I used to go to annually.) In 2015 I was working at New York Presbyterian hospital. I had been there for two years at the time, my baby girl was only a year old, I was driving around in my first car and living in my first apartment.

I say all that to say, it’s crazy to see how much has changed in 9 years and yet how much has stayed the same. Even then I was just shooting New York! Lol. Capturing all the things that grab my attention and keep my interests.

My first car ‘Pam Grier the Bimmer’ that I miss very much, the FDR on a cloudy morning, the graffiti ridden van that belonged to the corner store outside my first apartment, the aftermath of a crime scene on an early Bronx morning, and even a photo my brother took of me as I enjoyed my Wake n Bake just a few minutes before clocking in at work. Judge your mother! Lmao
I don’t know what film stock these were shot on, but I know for sure they were shot with Ol’ Faithful, Penelope, my Canon AE-1 Program!
Hope you enjoy. Happy Thursday!

Melodic Music Mix: Create the Perfect Playlist for Your Melodic Journey

Welcome to the world of melodic music, where each note carries you on a captivating journey of emotions. Whether you want to unwind after a long day or seek inspiration for your melodic journey, a well-curated music playlist is the perfect companion. Today, let's take you on a fulfilling musical adventure.
When crafting a favorite playlist, the key lies in selecting songs with emotions and creating a seamless flow from one track to another. Begin by identifying the mood you wish to set for your journey – whether it be soothing, uplifting, energetic, or a combination of various sentiments. Once you have a clear direction, explore different genres, such as classical, ambient, electronic, or even instrumental versions of popular songs, to find melodies that resonate with your desired mood.
Consider the tempo and rhythm of each track, as they can greatly influence the overall feel of your playlist. A mix of slow and fast-paced songs can create a dynamic experience, while a consistent tempo can help maintain a sense of tranquility or energy throughout. Feel free to experiment and include songs that may seem unconventional at first. Sometimes, the most unexpected melodic music mix can profoundly impact your journey.
