Wow not only are homestuck fans at a decline of content but they're losing it too damn. More so of a personal question but if you decided to ditch homestuck completely what series would you invest your time over instead?

They technically had lost content way before. From Homestuck^2's hiatus and Hiveswap releases since the Kickstarter. Losing semi-official merch shows that there is not much to offer to new audiences to get into the series, even after the move to Good Smile Company. Not even Viz Media could save it when they released the webcomic in hardcover books. For other fandoms, I would want to get more into tokusatsu. I thank a friend of mine for pushing me to look into these live action shows such as Kamen Rider and Sentai series. I want to be a true otaku to get at least a transformation belt, Changer, or weapons from the respective series. Friday Night Funkin is another. Just need to push myself to really code to make a mod. Because my brain is like this when it comes to coding.

I had used to spend my time with Hetalia and Undertale/Deltarune fandom. I wouldn't mind getting back to those. At least mostly for the Eastern fandom side. Western has kind of gotten worse because of the push for progressive activism. I am one of the few who says, "It's okay for a fan to see Frisk/Chara/Kris as a boy or girl."

Introduce yourself! *moca: Hi, I'm moca, a Starbucks barista aspiring to be a writer and game developer. I have been making RPG Maker games for about six years now, with my first two projects being a Pokémon fan-game and a Corpse Party fan-game. Those two happen to be my two favorite franchises as well! I have also created the RPG Maker game MOMOKA (IGMC 2018). I have founded a group called 'Team Shibu!' dedicated to making horror games! Our current project is a RPG Maker survival horror game named 'Katharsis'.

*Mitty: Hey there, I'm Mitty! I've been working with Moca on several games for a while now, helping with mostly graphics! Please support him, as he is very kind and hardworking!! I'm also the main developer of a game called "Marinette", so I hope you'll check that one out too, when the demo is released!

What is your project about? What inspired you to create this game initially? *moca: acai cOrner is an experimental spooky RPG Maker game that only uses 4 colors! You are a magical girl with a just-as-magical electric guitar that you use to fend off spooky sewer slimes and other weird enemies you find in the surreal sewer system. It's half exploration and half RPG battles. What inspired me to create acai cOrner initially was to actually get myself back into the groove of making games again. I had just recently came back from a hiatus and found myself having trouble getting back into the development of 'Katharsis'. That's when I decided to make a short, experimental game to get the juices flowing.

How long did you work on your project? *moca: acai cOrner was finished in just about under a month!

Did any other games or media influence aspects of your project? *moca: I had always wanted to make a Yume Nikki-like game and thought this was the perfect opportunity to try. So for the more surreal parts of acai cOrner, I took inspiration from Yume Nikki and a Homestuck random planet generator. Gameplay wise though, I took inspiration from a RPG Maker game called Ghost Suburb 0! I really loved how unique it was, especially with the timer and no dialogue aspect. I knew I wanted to do something with a timer, so I tried a rogue-like approach with the gameplay.

Have you come across any challenges during development? How have you overcome or worked around them? *moca: If you played any of my previous projects, you know that acai cOrner is vastly different than anything that I have ever done. I'm so used to using words to describe the violence in my games, so when it came to making the story, I had a lot of trouble. It wasn't until I looked deeper into why people like these types of games that I had realized that people like to interpret the story on their own, guided by exploration, to enjoy these games. After that, I let loose a bit and made something more open-ended. Another challenge was the difficulty. I was the only one playtesting the game, and since I knew the game front and back, and had no trouble getting the ending. That's why when I sent out demos to friends, I was really discouraged to hear that the experience was mostly frustrating and rage quitting-inducing haha. I worked closely with their feedback and made changes accordingly to make the experience less frustrating but still difficult. *Mitty: I think I was going through a weird artblock during the development of the game, so for some of the illustrations and backdrops for each area's fights, Moca sketched out the basic idea of what it could look like, and I just put my spin on it! It made the work much easier and faster!

Did any aspects of your project change over time? How does your current project differ from your initial concept? *moca: Well, the game was meant to be short so there wasn't room for any big changes. Sure there are a couple gameplay changes and enemy tweaks, but not anything mindblowing. I added in the idea of making four surreal worlds kinda last minute, if that counts, haha.

What was your team like at the beginning? How did people join the team? If you don’t have a team, do you wish you had one or do you prefer working alone? *moca: In the beginning, it was just me! I didn't think I was gonna need any outside help since this was supposed to be a relatively easy project to release, but the further in development I got, the more I realized the game needed pizazz. The four color limitation wasn't enough for my lack of graphical talent. That's when I contacted Mitty about helping with the games battle backdrops and sprite animations! She is also a member of Team Shibu!, but we have collabed together even before that. Her art really made the project shine and I enjoy working with them on games! *Mitty: Moca contacted me, and I wanted to help! We are working together on another game called Katharsis, so we are quite familiar with each other. I like working with other people, especially if I'm not in the lead, it releases a bit of the pressure I feel sometimes ahaha

What is the best part of developing a game? *moca: To me, it's seeing everything come together and just... working exactly the way you envisioned it. As a game developer, you section the game off into parts to make development much more organized and faster but seeing it all come together in the end. Pure bliss *chefs kiss*. *Mitty: I like a bit of everything, but currently I've been enjoying animating and spritework, as well as map assets' designs a little more than usual!

Do you find yourself playing other RPG Maker games to see what you can do with the engine, or do you prefer to do your own thing? *moca: Mm... not really! I have an idea of what the engine can do, so when I do go out of my way to player other RPG Maker games, it's usually for writing inspiration rather than gameplay inspiration. Ghost Suburb 0 is something that I accidentally stumbled upon and immediately fell in love with it the minute I played it haha. (Fun fact: the developer of Ghost Suburb 0 is apart of Team Shibu! and is in charge of monster design!)

Which character in your game do you relate to the most and why? (Alternatively: Who is your favorite character and why?) *moca: There is a rat in the game that is internally called 'Ratthew' who leads you into a funky room. I relate them the most. *Mitty: I relate to the land sharks the most on a spiritual level. They are pretty much confused beans, and that's very relatable.

Looking back now, is there anything that regret/wish you had done differently? *moca: I wish I added more random spooky events and trap rooms. But the game was also supposed to be short and I knew that if I kept adding more and more things, development was never gonna end haha.

Do you plan to explore the game’s universe and characters further in subsequent projects, or leave it as-is? *moca: Well, by the time this interview comes out, there should be a new update for the game. The update should include 100% custom music by a talented composer, and a nerf in difficulty. As for sequels, who knows! The next time you see acai cOrner may be in 3D.

What do you most look forward to upon finishing the game? *moca: Definitely the fan reaction! The satisfaction of seeing your work being noticed by people and actually enjoying makes me happy. It's also the relief of just... finishing something! *Mitty: For this particular project I was obviously looking forward to seeing what people said about the little animations and such ahaha! I also was curious about the reaction to the timed difficulty mechanic, I had never seen anything like that before Moca presented it to me, so I had no idea on what people's feedback would be.

Is there something you’re afraid of concerning the development or the release of your game? *moca: How people will handle the difficulty. The game isn't supposed to be completed on your first playthrough, but in 2-3 playthroughs. There are rooms and places that are meant to waste your time that you should ideally skip the more you play. By later playthroughs, you should be shaving time and be better. I understand that it's not handled as best I could, but I think the experience should still be challenging and hopefully fun! *Mitty: I was a little conflicted on the timed mechanic, I loved it because it's pretty original and helps set an interesting athmosphere of worry and unease, and also seems to tell a bit of the vague story; and at the same time I don't like it much because I prefer more story-driven games and the vagueness mixed with the mechanic feels different from what I'm used to playing! I think it's more of a personal taste kind of thing, it was an experimental jam game, after all!

Do you have any advice for upcoming devs? *moca: Take it easy! Take short breaks throughout development. And most importantly, have fun. If it's a hobby and it's making you overly stressed, just take a step back!

Question from last month's featured dev @ressurflection: What would you say is the weakest part of your game development? *moca: Procrastination. I'm so bad at sticking to my own schedule, it's something that I try to keep in check when working with a team especially.

Rant Incoming

Those of you who have been here a while know me. I’d prefer to not say anything at all, or at the very least I encourage folks to do their own research when combative topics arise. However, I’m a literal mother and I can not have this sort of accusation just sitting out there without being addressed. Last time I had accusations like this thrown my way in a community I got doxxed over it despite the initial accuser admitting their mistake. People threatened my kid. This kind of thing can literally ruin lives if you let it.

If posting this gets me removed from the @ladystuck2020​ gift exchange then so be it, but I will not stand idly by while my character is called into question in a space where I cannot defend myself.  Edit: I’m contacting the event staff to be removed from the event. I was very excited to take part, but being removed from the community while also being expected to still take part in/draw art for the exchange is a bit... Ridiculous, really. 

I actually gained a fair number of followers from their Discord server today. That server has since thrown baseless accusations at me I feel like I should really defend myself against. I can’t clear things up in-server as my access has been removed. The last thing I need is some exchange of “Where’d Fara go? Oh, banned for being a p*do.” to happen out there and have someone actually believe it. Since most of today’s new folk seem to be from that server, I feel I really need to offer up my side of things. 

TL;DR: 

Said I thought an anime character was funny, got ganged up on and accused of being a p*dophile apologist because of it, now banned from event server (but not the event!) while the folks who started the trouble and egged it on are still kickin’. Yes, I’m aware that being accused of p*dophilia apologism over thinking an anime character is quirky sounds stupid. That’s because it is.

More than a little concerned that I’ve been soft-banned from the @ladystuck2020​ event server after having serious accusations thrown at me and trying to defend myself. I didn’t even start the conversations in question, but since I was the eldest member of the group at the time apparently it was ban-worthy for myself and not the others (my age was repeatedly brought up by the mod informing me of the decision).

What led to the ban:

Group convo decided amongst themselves that because I think Mineta from BNHA is funny I’m a p*dophile/apologist; 

Saying said implications were serious and shouldn’t be thrown around so casually was apparently making the minors in the 13+ server feel unsafe, despite fighting my own anxiety attack at the time over having some pretty serious accusations thrown at me for no reason;

 As an adult, I “must be aware of the power dynamics at play and should not have continued engaging in the conversation after multiple people expressed discomfort”, despite trying multiple times to exit the conversation civilly before said accusations were thrown and only re-joining the conversation in an attempt to clear my name afterwards.

I stand by thinking BNHA is an interesting show that utilizes many pre-existing tropes, and just because I happen to like the little purple gremlin I did not deserve to have accusations/implications of p*dophilia thrown at me. You can like a character without condoning their flaws. I tried multiple times to back out of the conversation gracefully. 

Later on in the day, I’m contacted by a mod stating I’ve been soft-banned from the server for defending p*dophilia and sexualizing minors. The mod was kind enough to give me channel access long enough to backup the logs, at the very least, and after reading through them a few times I personally don’t see it. They’re below, if you have a second opinion or can give me some clarity here.

I’m admittedly a touch salty over having my character called into question, being accused of defending p*dophilia, and being called names repeatedly... As well as being the only one with action taken against them as far as I’m aware. Just checked. The users who were egging it on and namecalling/throwing baseless accusations at me all still have full access as of this writing. 

I’m not going to air usernames but I do want to put some context out there. Anyone still in the server can easily look them up and see what was said by whom, but I’m editing out the names and avatars of other parties because I’m not about that drama shit. All I want here is to put the log out there for anyone wondering why I’ve disappeared, and anyone following up on the accusations thrown at me in the chat.

Sorry again for the drama post, but again I say I really can’t just let an accusation like this stand.

I’m starting to think none of these people have seen any anime made before the 2010s, especially after the reaction to my pointing out that the Hot tub/hot spring trope has been a thing for decades. My point here is still pretty clearly “You can’t demonize this entire thing for using common practices”. This is a Homestuck server. Homestuck. Do you know how much problematic shit there is in Homestuck?

I’d like it if you guys could look over my tea man for me! (Art by my friend lythaeriahomestucks. I haven’t made him a sprite yet.

Oofadoofa it’s been a while. Hi I hope your roleplay group is fun!

World: Alternia, but the draft is a lot further off than in canon, because none of my group is interested in roleplaying interstellar space battles or politics, especially considering the amount of setup that would have to go into making deep space believable. Though I think Friendsim’s stated they’re dragged off planet at 9 sweeps, so he’d still have a little time before getting dragged underground anyway.

Name: Oolong Matcha. Yes, they’re both types of tea. It started off as a quick joke, but I’ve grown to love it. Not only is matcha green, like his blood, but he’s a gardener, and really enjoys tea.

Mmmmm I mean joke trolls are famously canon in Homestuck. See: SWIFER EGGMOP or the salt and pepper shaker troll BUTTT mmmm. I feel like naming a character based at least partially on Japanese monks Oolong would deserve some side-eye. But I like the matcha bit! So let’s see…I like him being a gardener since monastic gardens were very much A Thing, and one of the famous still-extant ones is at Rievaulx abbey, so maybe we give him RIVULX, which sounds sufficiently trollish and is obvious enough for someone to get the reference.

Age: 9.69 Sweeps, or 21 Earth years.

Theme/Story: He’s partially themed after monks, specifically Irish and Japanese, which was originally an excuse for his bald head, but ended up influencing his clothing, calm demeanor, and lusus. I was also, oddly, thinking of 4chan – not maniacs like /pol/, but just average people who don’t get out enough, like to chatter about anime or cooking, and generally act like a bit of a dipshit. Fatherhood is definitely a theme with him as well – he’s already a father figure to two other trolls.

Hmmm. I like the broad concept, but I think we can tighten up a little on the “monk” theme by expanding it. Review Goals: General overview, classpecting advice, filling in missing details like fetch modus or lunar sway, etc.

Strife Specibus: He greatly prefers to snipe threats before they reach him, but if he’s forced into melee, he’ll grab a pipe and go berserker nuts. He takes satisfaction in neutralizing threats, especially if he’s protecting someone or something. He’s not averse to talking things out, but dislikes putting others on the line.

Hmm. None of that is a strife specibus, though I suppose you’re going for riflekind and pipekind. Generally void players use fistkind since it’s the absence of a weapon, but if you want to give him another option besides hand-to-hand melee may I suggest poisonkind? He could use something from his garden, like monkshood :3c. Or if you want to give him a melee weapon he could use the sansetsukon per the 36th Chamber of Shaolin, which would double as a symbol reminder since he could arrange the segments in a backwards s. Fetch Modus: ;;3;; I have absolutely no idea.

What about a clue modus where the items are obscured but contain details describing them? With the caveat that some of them will have similar color/taste/textures listed. I think this might be fun because there are actually *two* famous detectives with the last name Monk, Adrian Monk and William Monk.

Blood Color: Jade.

That works great, especially with Friendsim’s reveal that many jades are indeed monastic/cloistered.

Lunar Sway: Not sure.

Given that he’s a monk and you have painted him as someone unlikely to cause conflict or rebel against the system, I think he’d be a Prospit dreamer.

Title: Knight of Void, someone who exploits what little secrecy and irrelevance he has for all it’s worth. He was first conceived as a Bard, to fit into a fansession, but I eventually decided it didn’t fit what the character had developed to be. 

Symbol and Meaning: I made it up, and it doesn’t have a name. It’s an infinity symbol, broken in the center - like this, but flipped 90 degrees clockwise. I guess it could tie into his aspect by…destroying infinity, I guess, but I really haven’t put that much thought into it.

If we’re going by the EZ, he would be Virittanius, the Deliberate. Which I think fits him quite well! It also looks like a further corruption of the sign you gave him, so I may toy with that a little in the redesign. Handle: I feel like I might have given him a serious handle at one point, but if I did, I forgot it, so for now, it’s oolongMatcha. Just his name. Considering his classpect and desire for secrecy, this makes about as much sense as a rain barrel made out of crackers, but I’m not sure what to give him.

Since his new initials are RM, maybe revenantMyiopsitta. Revenant, of course, to hint at the fact that he’s part of the blood caste most commonly associated with rebirth after death, and Myiopsitta being the genus for two types of parakeet: the cliff parakeet and the monk parakeet. So we have his true identity as well as the unusual nature of his hive, both concealed in plain sight. Quirk: he types in all lower case and likes putting his horns in his emoticons! ’:)  Maybe doing it like (:; would make more sense, as it’s his right (our left) horn that’s busted.

I like it! Depending on his redesign you may also want him to uƨe backwardƨ ƨ’ƨ to mimic hiƨ ƨymbol.

Special Abilities: Supreme Dadliness. Jokes aside, he’s a crack shot, even with his impeded vision, and has been successfully flying under the radar his whole life.

If you still want him to be a crack shot even with the changes I suggested above, maybe he uses blowdarts to poison his enemies from afar?

Lusus: His father is a MASSIVE white snake; I was thinking some kind of constrictor. Personality-wise, he’s close to a prototypical 50s dad. He’s a safe haven for his son and those his baby cares about, and is exceedingly patient, to the point of letting a small child fingerpaint on him. He’s also willing to carry Oolong in emergencies, though I’m not really certain that would work in real life, movement-wise.

I feel like the snake can be a little overplayed as a lusus. If we want to give him something similar to a mother grub as a jadeblood, why not a massive butterfly based on the monk/dusky friar? It also gives you the mechanics for how his dadderfly would carry him around in emergencies.

Interests: He used to spend a lot of time alone on the internet - I originally conceptualized him as a very lonely NEET, to the point he had to find his wallet to remember his own name - but has become more adventurous and friendly, spending more time with his girlfriend and friends (and he has friends now!) He’s very proud of his garden and fruit trees, some of which are rare, difficult to grow properly, and/or dangerous (offering more security).

Huh! You don’t explain *how* he goes from isolated to friendly, but I’d hope that gardening is a way for him to reach out to others since it’s a hobby you can commit to on your own but bond with other hobbyists.

Hive: He lives out in the woods by himself, though not so far from other trolls that he can’t take the day to go shopping or see his mate. His hive is surrounded by his garden on all sides, and has a very visible path down the center (making it easy for him to see anyone approaching, and shoot if they’re a threat). Trees surround it, and dangerous plants are strategically placed to make going through his garden unpleasant at best (it also makes weeding a pain, but he thinks it’s worth it). His hive is especially unusual in that the porch is raised up to the second floor with large poles, and you have to use a ladder to get up to it (unless you’re snakedad, in which case you go up the poles). He has a remote so he can let it down from the ground, as well as access to it on the platform, so he can let people up himself. I don’t think the ground level has a door. I’d be happy to submit pictures, if you want.

Feel free to show us pictures, but I like the concept a lot!

Appearance: Tall and rail-thin, excepting his oddly curvy hips. (I figured due to jades being majority female, developing jade males might be exposed to more than the usual amount of estrogen and androgens. Also I’m way more used to drawing women than men and his initial outline was a gal for like ten minutes.) He shaves his head bald. (This is because A) I didn’t want to bother trying to figure out men’s hair - I almost never draw dudes - and B) he’s partially themed after monks, who often shave their heads. I don’t remember why he says he does it.)

…man, I’m gonna take issue with the way you phrased this description. There’s a lot of gender essentialism going on in your explanation there, and given that a number of us mods are trans and nonbinary I feel obligated to point out a few things:

1) Trolls are bugs. They’re not even mammals. They aren’t exposed to androgen or estrogen or any hormone to give them a certain body shape. It is quite heavily implied that when the mother grub gives birth it is to a bunch of larvae.

2) I know that Homestuck lore has given us largely jade girls and one jade trans guy but that’s no reason to assume that jade men are broadly more “feminine” by default in *any* dimension

3) Even if trolls *did* work like humans, it rubs me the wrong way to see someone talking about a man’s “oddly” curvy hips like I’ve got guy friends both trans and cis with wide hips and the only reason to remark on it at all is because We Live In A Society that forcibly genders people in relation to physical characteristics.

…So I am otherwise taking your description at face value. ______ Matcha is tall, rail thin, with curvy hips and a bald head. I will probably add some little fangs, per the Alternian fashion guide.

He wears leggings (unless it’s very hot) and long tunics or robes, usually tan, with his symbol emblazoned on the breast. He goes barefoot if he can. His right (our left) horn is broken, due to an accident in his youth (I think he fell onto something?), amusingly improving his vision, since his unbroken left horn points in front of his left eye, obscuring it somewhat.  His face could almost be described as delicate, and his default expression is calm.

I don’t knooooow that tan is a color trolls wear all that often in Alternia, so I will see how I can rework that in the redesign. I get him being barefoot, but I may give it a shot spriting him monk shoes for if he wants to go on an outing. :3c For his broken horn…hm. When we see trolls with physical damage, it is almost always something more significant than just “childhood accident” (see: every troll in Homestuck except Equius who somehow had like 3 simultaneous accidents?). I have an idea for his horns that I will get to in the redesign, and I will probably add a hook to his front horn, both because it’s a jadeblood trait and because it seems suitably horrifying to constantly have a sharp implement millimeters from your eye.

Personality: Oolong is a nice, fatherly young man, well regarded by most he meets. He really really likes tea. He has a beautiful, dangerous mafiosa matesprite in a rustblood named Andora Ingenu, and they adore each other. He’s also taken on the substitute dad role for an adorable young fuschia who lives in the swamp near his forest, Lillie Waters, teaching her how to cook (and keep her tools clean) and rescuing her from other fuschias. He’s very protective of his and his loved ones’ privacy and safety, and spends a LOT of his time in the massive gardens around his hive, of which he’s deservedly proud. He is very good at being sneaky, and sometimes takes the time to run around seeing what he can get away with, especially in the realm of snatching seeds up for his garden. He sells whatever plants he can grow for money, especially fruits and vegetables, but he doesn’t really enjoy sales. He doesn’t put a lot of stock in blood superiority, but doesn’t make a big deal out of it. He’s oddly well adjusted for someone who spent most of his life alone.

I like this description! Also looking at his close compatriots, it looks like I can swap the tan in his design for rust or fuchsia. We already see jadebloods wearing a fair amount in the red/burgundy/purple spectrum, so it should fit right in with the others.

Land: I don’t remember if I’ve come up with one. If I did, I feel like it may have heavily wooded areas, dark and tangled and difficult to navigate.

Hmmm. What about Land of Rough and Reflection (LORAR)? Covered in rough terrain, with pools to contemplate oneself. Unbeknownst to your troll, there are switches at the bottom of each lake (deeper than he could ever hope to dive and hold his breath) that must be flipped to drain the lakes and free the consorts from the underwater caves in which they’ve been trapped for generations. His land would initially seem completely empty and without guidance, and it neatly parallels his own situation before he began to socialize.

I hope you like him! :) I’d love to see what you guys think of him.

He’s certainly an interesting troll, and I hope I’ve helped by way of sharpening up on his theme! Let’s move on to the redesign.

Top to bottom as usual!

Hair - I gave him some stubble courtesy of fan-troll (I have never managed a post without plugging fan-troll/tajazzled’s sprite sheet and I’m not gonna stop now)

Horns - I wanted to make his other horn sort of…curve away from his head so it looks like his symbol from above?

Eyes and brows - they didn’t change but big ups to fan-troll for giving me bases to modify!

Mouth - this is a modification of Sollux’s mouth but I gave him lil fangs and a little lower lip definition

Robes - I just modified some of Kanaya’s robes, appropriately enough! I decided to go for a red/pink shade that was between rust and fuchsia so he could fit in while subtly broadcasting his allegiance

Shoes - they’re John’s but with buckles! :B monk shoes

I also don't know much about pranking so I will probably repeat myself (and pranks will be lame) but reactions will be different for sure! Have sleepy Chiaki since I did it instead of sleeping. Sorry but there won't be any Twogami here-

Prank war with SDR2 boys.

Gundham Tanaka

Surprisingly Gundham was the one to start that prank war. He literally gave you dog food and you didn't notice until you took a bite.

It was on. You never expected Gundham to do something like this. But he knew he will regret this.

Both of you agreed to leave his devas out of this (too bad for Gundham since he could make some good pranks with his devas help-). It was personal war.

You knew now that all that required you giving him a gift were off the table.

What you did was just use some tape on doors since you didn't wanted to go too far. You called for him and he got fooled as your trick worked "What kind of force field did you enchant my love?" his dorky face and comment at the time was too cute.

He knew he got pranked of course but each time he didn't show any anger since it was just for fun.

His next prank was attaching airhorn to your chair. You immediately stood up as you were quite sleepy. You could hear him laugh at your reaction as you playfully punched him.

You decided to leave him small 'surprise' in his room and it was- tons of cups filled with water. Luckily none of the animals knocked them out as in his bedroom only his devas rested. Once he entered his room he couldn't belive you.

When you were exchanging pranks back and forth you decided to leave it a draw.

He couldn't belive he enjoyed it this much.

Fujuhiko Kuzuryu

When you heard him yell your name you had to rethink of the choices you made and probably move to another country.

How this happened? What you did? Its simple. You left fake snake toy. He got scared at first not because it was snake but he was surprised. Then he realized what day it was and the war began.

He thought about his prank quite a lot since he couldn't think of anything that was harmless. Since you were so generous and left him a gift why wouldn't he leave something for you aswell? There were rubber ducks everywhere. On your desk in your dorm locker and even im your bag!

He knew the joke was bad but he laughed at your shocked expression whenever you found a duck.

When you two decided to make this war official you made one thing clear. It was just yours war no one can interrupt it so no asking for help (for example Teruteru or Peko).

When it was your time to strike you left bubble wrap under the carpet. But it was just a distraction for real prank that was waiting under it. Once he lifted the carpet what he saw was scarry picture of your choice. Once again picture itself didn't scare him but the fact that it was unexpected.

He made small changes on your laptop. Nick. Cage. Was. Everywhere. Each icon was replaced with actors face (you can replace Nicolas Cage with someone else but I just really thought how funny it had to be seeing him basically everywhere).

The war continues and pranks were lame but enough to make both of you laugh.

Hajime Hinata

He forgot that it was today. And when he went to fetch himself some orange juice he actually drank the power from Mac and Cheese box that was mixed with water.

As he spitted it out he thought who could possibly do it and only option right now were you. He couldn't belive you and he looked for you. Of course you left also another thing waiting for him on his way. Classic bucket of water.

As he changed and dried himself he was more cautious while making his way to you. He couldn't stay mad at you for longer time but still he gave up on you.

While he was walking he thought he could just get back at you! He got fake bug prepared and when he went to where you lived. You thought that your pranks had failed since he didn't act any different.

Once you left for a minute to get your back up plan (toothpaste oreos) he taped the fake bug on your lamp.

Of course he was suspicious of them but looking at the fact that you pranked him already twice... Maybe this time it was- get fucked. You couldn't help but laugh.

He declared war. And you gladly accepted.

The thing was that the whole class got involved as they took sides.

On his team was: Nagito Chiaki Mikan Mahiru Hiyoko Fujuhiko and Peko.

On your team you had: Nekomaru Akane Sonia Gundham Kazuichi Teruteru and Ibuki.

Twogami left it be as he didn't take any side.

The was was very brutal as you thought this was the end of you while Hajime felt the same.

When it was finally over you went back to your room. Hajime just realized that he left that fake bug when he heard your scream. He was keep apologizing and said that he set that up earlier.

Nekomaru Nidai

You allways had prank war each year this was no different.

You mostly drew spiders on toilet paper or add something spicy to his food when he isn't looking.

This year you did something else. You taped tons of balloons on glass door making it seem the gym was filled with them. Of course not to seem lazy you left some balloons in gym too but it was much less than it seemed.

What he did was leave you small 'gifts' everywhere. From just bunch of rubber ducks to fake insects.

Traps were everywhere and not only you and Nekomaru got pranked because of that. Everyone had to look out since it was no better to be safe than sorry!

You two never let it end with a draw. So it was impossible to end those wars. They took about 3 days each time. This time you won!

You allways have a small bets this year it was simply about deciding about everything for 2 months.

Kazuichi Souda

You were suspicious of him day before but when you got inside shower on April fools you noticed he prepared you Chicken soup shower.

You were quite mad at him but little he knew that you had something in your sleeve too!

Ice cubes with mentos hidden in it. When you two were at your place you got him some soda and he added your evil cubes. You were the one to clean it up but it was worth it.

But he messed more with your bathroom as he ALSO had dyes water in your sink red. After you cleaned up you left leek in your sink.

As you went to him you said "Kaz could you fix leak in my bathroom sink?".

When he saw it he yelled from bathroom "Nice one S/O".

Your pranks were very harmless and you laughed each time.

After it ended you called it even. Yet you thought that his pranks were much better than yours.

Nagito Komaeda

He didn't wanted to prank you but you begged for some prank war. Why whould he say no? He can allways intentionally make his pranks be something lame.

You allways told him what great surprise you had for him. He was concerned but he couldn't wait for what you prepared!

He left visable pranks so you allways knew what was going on thanks to his luck... You asked him if he did it intentionally "I don't. S/O I just don't think I can prank well that's all" you knew he was lying...

You left it be as he still didn't knew what you were planning.

He didn't bother following you becouse he wanted to see what his S/O can come up with!

At the end of the day you told him that your plan was prank itself. You didn't had a proper prank war but still it was fun while he tried to make his things obvious as you acted you were doing something.

Teruteru Hanamura

"Prank war you say... Well we can try it. But what will the winner get?" you couldn't help but laugh as you managed to convince him.

It was hard for both sides since Teruteru didn't leave kitchen often and he whould never do anything to his dishes.

Teruteru came up with an idea. He won't do anything to food itself but he can mess with plates glasses etc. And in the worst case scenario he can make fake food (Wich was reserved for you).

Yes you did leave some outside ones but Teruteru didn't get caught on any of those. Teruteru himself got you some of the fake food you took it since you knew he wouldn't do anything to it.

1:0 for Teruteru! Now you had to think of something...

With Mikans help you managed to convince him that you got food poisoning. After saying April fools you were even.

The hole (;)) in a cup from him. The bucket (;) for homestuck who follow me) with water from you.

It kept going like this back and forth and you ended up not winning nor losing...

He still had fun with it and so did you!

Aight Ya Salty Fucks- Multiaccounting 101

I’ve been on FR for 3 years, started multiaccounting my 2nd or 3rd month because I didn’t know any better. Kept at it even after finding it was against the rules cause of Lore and Baldwin reasons. In my hay-day I manadged 4 accounts, but now a days only two of them are active because honestly? That’s all I need. VPNs/IP addresses: A lot of people freak out about this but the admins have already stated that they don’t see two acc.s using the same IP/browser/VPN as anything suspicious. I’ve never used a fake VPN/IP and I haven’t been caught for two/three years. If you’re still worried they’ll get ya, you can pull out one of these handy-dandy excuses for ip sharing: - @x is my sibling, so we share ips. - @y is my neighbor and we share a WiFi router - @z is my friend and we hang out after school and play FR together so we may be on the same WiFi sometimes. If you’re an adult you can also use: - @a is my roommate so we share ips. - @b is my fiancée/husband/wife so we live together and share ips/devices. You can probably come up with more creative ones, too, but like I mentioned it’s not super necessary. Account Interactions: It is ok!!!! To have your accounts!!!! Interact!!!!! In fact, it might look more suspicious to the mods if they don’t interact! I’m not even saying you have to send items but some “hi buddy! your avatar is lookin pretty sweet ;)” on your clan profile will make things look A LOT less suspicious. If you are going to be sending items, try to have messages along with them. It can be as simple as “I have some extra x, could I get some y, please?” or if it’s a one way transfer it could be like “I heard you had a rough day today :( I was hoping this would cheer you up!” Contextless, one way transfers will be your downfall. Mindset/Playstyle(s): Building off that point, whatever you do, DO NOT get yourself into the habit of having a “main” account and a “side” or “feeder” account(s). A tip I have for avoiding this is giving each one of my lairs a “goal” or “job”. Some simple goals/tasks I’ve had for my other lairs have been: - Maxing Baldwin - Having an single-breed lair - Having a fodder-breeding lair - Having a lair that boards for dominance Basically, each lair should have a different play style, or a different way of making money. Not only does this boost your income, it’s fun! It’s the main reason I’m still multi-accounting- I can have a bunch of different play styles and goals, where as if I tried to do that all on one account, it would get messy and overwhelming and boring. Some Other Tips and Tricks I’ve Found: -As mentioned above I have one lair where I’m maxing my Baldwin level. I have my other accounts send me the Baldwin fodder, then, when any of them are low on cash, I’ll send them back the mats and sell them from that account. -Back when I used run a boarding lair, if any of my other lairs were running out of space, I’d already have a lair ready to board them. -Having a different typing style can also help a bit. I’m not saying go full-out homestuck, I just mean that if you have one account that uses Proper Grammar and another whose messages are more on the text-lingo side, it might help you look a little more convincing. Another point I forgot to mention is that if you’re being discrete and there isn’t one main lair that’s profiting, even if you are multi-accounting, the mods don’t care. It’s when you start wrecking the economy and getting rich at an unreasonable rate that you start to cause a problem. Really, just use common sense and you’ll be fine.

AHP End of Year One Recap

The date was April 13th, 2016. The day an era ended.

But also the start of something new.

One year ago, I (Mod Tev), began this project, mostly on a whim, but also because I love Homestuck and want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy it. Thus began the Accessible Homestuck Project. Image descriptions were added. Files were made. A comic was shared.

My friend Matt, who has since left the project, suggested doing a lets-read style recording of it, which soon went into the planning stages. 

Five days after the begining of the project, this blog came into existence, a hub for pretty much everything we put out.

Another four days later and the first casting call went out. Auditions were submitted and reminders were spammed. That same day, Act 1′s image descriptions were posted for the world to see.

May 5th saw Act 2′s descriptions made available, the 18th saw the first iteration of our logo. The 20th, Act 3. The 22nd, Intermission 1. By May 28th, we had our first lovely actors join the project. June 7th saw act 4′s completion. 

More casting calls were put out for act 2, and later act 3, and our cast continued to expand as act 5′s descriptions slowly trickled along. 

The number of files and splitting of acts was reworked several times due to the files starting to glitch when they got too long, and also act 5 is so long like oh my god why. Also school restarted, leading to a drastic slowdown in progress made towards the descriptions. Nevertheless, they continued to be made… just… not as often.

Finally, on March 2nd, we climbed this whole mountain. Well, more like we reached the first campsite. Act 1′s audio portion went out after far too long, too many shenanagins, and delays like you wouldn’t believe. Nevertheless, it’s done and it’s out there. 

A few roles were recast due to people needing to leave the project for one reason or another and the call for an editor was put out, then quickly filled.

That brings us to now, as I sit here, writing this End of Year One recap. 

Now here comes the Sentimental Bullshit.

It’s been a long year full of so many things and so much progress. The people who have joined me on this project have made it more enjoyable than I could have ever imagined. This project means so much to me and I’m so glad that other people like it too. To everyone who has supported this project in any way- whether it was by auditioning, spreading the word, or just following this blog- thank you. Thank you so much. You all have no idea how insufficient those words feel, but they’re probably the best and/or only ones I can find.

So thank you again, and here’s to the End of Year One and the Start of Year Two.

@the-arch-conservative. I took the URL so no reactionaries could. I haven’t posted on it in months. The URL is a parody, because all that was really going to be posted were pictures of arches, with rants about how no one uses arches anymore, so they must be saved/conserved. A rather trivial pun, but I like being a pedantic ass to fascist filth.

@anarcho-tarkinism This one is also rather niche, and also rather unused. What it was going to be is communist or semi-communist quotes written as if Grand Moff Tarkin said them, himself. I never got that into making the posts after making the few on the blog, and, um, the other mod, uh... the other mod and I had a, um, falling out of sorts. Yeah.

do I get asks regularly: Not exactly, but within the past week or two I’ve got more from my followers, and I really appreciate that!

why did I choose my url: Because I snuggle cats and oh my goodness, this is the best URL ever and I’m so glad and so lucky to snag this one before anyone else did, I love it. I should probably post more cats sometime, because that would be pretty fitting. It’s just, well, you’ve probably seen my posts, how depressed I’ve gotten sometimes... but cats would help, wouldn’t they? I’ll post more cats sometime.

I also considered being a child therapist a few months ago, but I’m not sure if that would actually be the right job for me. Heck, maybe I could be a writer.
