Hey there! Thank you so much for sending me an ask. It’s really flattering to have an ask for my characters, and for me 😊 It’s really sweet of you and while it’s not too many, they are a little shorter than just one would be. I hope that won’t take away from how fun they are to read though!

Brown eyes narrowed, taking the scene below here in with eagle-eyed precision. She concentrated so hard, making sure she was taking in every detail. Though she’d been following the tall, black-haired youth for days now, learning his every move, watching who came in and out of his family’s restaurant, seeing who he was closest to out of his teammates, she hadn’t felt the pressure of the situation until now. Honestly, while she wanted to support Luca more than anything, she didn’t have a clue yet how these future Vongola Guardians were going to help them. Yamamoto seemed nice enough, he seemed responsible and kind, but that aura of someone strong, of the killer they needed…it just wasn’t there.

But no, she couldn’t think like that. She had to believe in Luca’s vision and work hard to allow it to come into fruition. The Vongola had to work out like Luca had guaranteed them all that they would. If they didn’t…well, Bria didn’t even want to think about what that would mean for their little family, for their own Guardians. Everything already felt a moment away from falling apart.

 She watched Yamamoto Takeshi pull up his hood against the cold morning air as he left the batting cages. Still keeping an eye on him, she raised her pink-cased phone up, quickly tapping a message.

‘Is everyone in position?’

Her phone vibrated in her hand, the return messages quick and short. Nodding as she read the affirmatives, she turned her attention back to Yamamoto, walking up the street, standing up on the rooftop she’d been watching from and stretching, preparing to move in.

Yes, this would go well. She wouldn’t allow anything less. Not for her family and especially not for Luca.

Ailidh

Ailidh looked around the room Seitarou had asked her to wait in. He’d promised he’d be quick with getting back with the building’s paperwork, but, as her eyes locked onto the clock on the wall, his words were proven a lie. She wondered what was taking him so long. She still had so much left to get done today and she really wanted to get going. This room was quite bright, almost offensive to her aesthetic tastes.

Huffing out a sigh as she stopped pacing the parameters of the room, she allowed herself to sink into the cushiony softness of a zebra-printed sofa. While she thought the piece of furniture looked tacky as hell, she had to admit that it was incredibly comfortable and she found herself fighting the instinct to just sink back into it. Her eyes went back to the clock again…fifteen minutes she’d been waiting. What could be taking the young man so long just to gather some papers?

Looking around the room as she reached into the pocket of her dress, she celebrated the lack of ‘no smoking’ signs by pulling out and lighting a cigarette from the gold case she carried everywhere with her. A deep inhale made the tip of the cigarette glow a cherry red and she felt her tense body relaxing.

It was about half way through her cigarette that Ailidh noticed the door to the room creak just a smidgen more open. Her body tensed again as she set her cigarette into an ashtray, anticipating Seitarou’s return. However, though she mostly kept her eyes on the door, she saw nothing. Brows furrowing in confusion, she kept staring at the door, wondering what had caused it to move, anticipating the sudden arrival of someone, anyone.

Instead, it was a sound that startled her, making her jump a little on the couch.

“Meow…”

Purple eyes widened as Ailidh looked down towards the sound, a wide grin breaking out on her face.

“Well, who are you?” she crooned out in a voice much softer and sweeter than anyone in Nanba had heard from her yet. She stared at the big black cat, wearing it’s own little guard hat and, with a laugh, she saluted it. “Are you here to deliver me the papers?”

The cat just stared at her before, with a quick leap, it was suddenly beside her. Unable to help herself, Ailidh scooched over on the couch just a bit, giving the cat more space.

“I’m very honored to make your acquaintance, Mr. Cat. Would you mind terribly if I pet you?”

Her hand tentatively reached towards the cat, who kept a careful eye on her, but didn’t move as Ailidh’s hand reached out, just grazing its fur at first before settling in to pet the cat and scritch behind its ear. Hey, she was waiting anyway, right? So why shouldn’t she enjoy herself while she waited, she thought. However, the longer she sat, petting the cat, she had to wonder where the cat had come from. As far as she knew, cats weren’t allowed here at Nanba. It was why she’d had to leave her lovelies behind, something that still broke her heart a little every day.

It was as she was puzzling over this that she heard a voice, coming closer and closer.

“Kuu! Kuu, where did you disappear to now?” came a gruff voice that made Ailidh’s head snap up, staring at the door and then, a moment later, at one of the most handsome men she’d ever seen. Her breath caught, her stomach was in her throat, and her chest tight as she stared, speechless at him for the briefest of seconds.

“Who are you?” the man asked, glaring at her and poof…the moment was over, her heart was no longer skipping a beat, and Ailidh’s face had fallen into a deadpan return glare. Who was she? Who was this guard glaring at her and worse yet, interrupting her kitty time?

“What do you mean, you lost the camera?” Dee asked, staring at her intrepid team of ghost hunters. Her expression was both crestfallen and a little incredulous. She’d always been bad for her face saying what her mind was thinking, no matter how carefully she considered her actual spoken words and right now, it was broadcasting her thoughts free and clear – ‘are you all fucking morons?’

“Hey! It wasn’t my fault! I gave the camera to Rock,” Badou pouted, shooting a nasty look at the taller, mohawked man.

Rock stepped forward, the anger evident on his face at being blamed for the situation, taking a menacing step towards Badou as he made it quite clear where the other man could stick his accusations.

Dee had recruited the team and they’d all been working together long enough that she knew that, if she didn’t act fast, this was quickly going to devolve into a fist-fight.

“Okay, okay!” she shouted to be heard over the arguing idiots. “I’m not asking who lost the camera, I’m asking how it happened.”

“Well, you see, there was this ghost,” she heard Fenrir say behind her. “And then the lights went out…”

“Yeah,” Badou picked up the sentence. “I mean, I was really brave. These two idiots were ready to run, but I was ready to go and confront this, see what was going on. That’s why I gave the camera to Rock.”

“You did not. You screamed and threw the camera and that’s when I caught it!”

“Anyway, there were all these loud noises and then the ghost was right there, like, close enough to touch and I guess we might have…”

“You might have what?”Dee asked, narrowing her eyes, her voice getting very quiet and very calm.

“Well, you see a ghost and you run,” Fenrir said, as if it was the most logical thing in the world.

“Fenrir?”

“Dee?”

“We’re ghost hunters. You know, we go and hunt ghosts…it’s kind of in the name.”

Spirits from the current urban fantasy rpg I’m in. In the lore, each star on a spirit is a name they have been given.

Ailidh Llywarch | Royal Astronomer | Bridget Regan | Open

“I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.”

Biography:

Ailidh was born to a young couple who lived in modest comfort at the outskirts of the kingdom, and for the first few years of her life had a loving but fairly unremarkable upbringing. Things changed radically when a fever swept through the town and her parents died within days of each other. The now orphaned Ailidh was packed up and sent off to the city of Camelot to live with her only remaining relative – an uncle, her mother’s brother, a scholar under the patronage of King Uther.

Her uncle was a kind man, but a little scatter-brained and completely absorbed by his work. Utterly at a loss when it came to what to do with the child he now found himself caring for her, he put her to work as his assistant. To both of their surprise, she loved it, especially learning about the stars and the constellations. She began to spend almost every night outside, studying the skies, and as she got older her research began to outstrip her uncle’s.

When Arthur came to the throne he reviewed all those that his father had been patronising, dismissing many charlatans and frauds. Ailidh’s work, however, caught his attention, especially when she began to explain her belief in its potential for improving their understanding of the world around them. He allowed her to continue her work, and when she continued to impress him named her Royal Astronomer and had a small observatory built for her in one of the castle towers.

There she spent most of her time, often eating and sleeping there to have more time to work. Although the Court knows there was a Royal Astronomer, many have never actually seen or spoken to her since the majority of her work is conducted at night and she spends most of her days writing up her findings and catching up on her sleep.

Or at least, that was her routine until the observatory was damaged in the Saxon attack on the castle. Ailidh herself barely escaped the wreckage, and was quite shaken by what had happened. Frightened at how vulnerable she had been, she went to Captain Eriann and asked him to teach her defend herself. While the observatory is being repaired and she’s taking lessons, she’s spending more time in the city during the day – something she’s still not quite used to, but she’s finding there are lot of things, and people, on the ground that are almost as interesting as the heavens. Almost.

ABOUT THE MUSE: 001. MUSE FAVOURITES ! (For Ailidh)

⌇— activity:  Honestly, it’s probably work. She really is a huge workaholic – she loves being productive, she loves keeping busy, she enjoys the minutiae of her job. After that, she loves reading. A huge bookworm, when she’s not busy with work, she’s normally curled up with lots of coffee, a good book, something yummy, and some soothing music on in the background.

⌇—   animal: It’s definitely cats. Before having to move to Nanba for her job, Ailidh was a proud cat-mama to four different cats. She had initially bought a brother and sister from a breeder of Maine Coones. They were her big babies and she spoiled them rotten. Her former apartment had a stray problem and she also took in two strays – one an almost pure black cat, except for an upside down heart-shaped mark on it’s forehead that was a pale gray and one a big orange tabby that was missing part of one of its ears. While she responsibly rehomed them before leaving, she misses them dearly every day and wishes she was allowed another pet cat in Nanba.

⌇—   book: Ailidh would say this is impossible, as there’s too many great books she’s read and there’s so many fantastic books she has yet to read. Her tbr pile is stacked quite high and constantly growing. Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Class, Little Women, Little Men, Emily of New Moon, Sherlock Holmes, The Little Prince, and The Outsiders were all novels that really influenced her as a young reader, while she got really into Stephen King, Lovecraft, Poe, Junji Ito, and other horror writers in her teen years. As an adult, she re-reads old stories from her youth and teenage years that she adores, along with a lot of urban fantasy, biographies, manga, horror, and cozy mysteries as an adult.

⌇— celebrity:  Ailidh doesn’t stay up on a lot of celebrity gossip or get too involved with the world of celebrities. There are, of course, actors and actresses that she’s a fan of, musicians whose work she enjoys, but I think the closest she gets to celebrity worship is with authors. There are authors she absolutely worships and getting the opportunity to meet them would be a dream come true to her. Unfortunately, most of the ones she really loves are dead so that dream is impossible, but I will mention that I think she’d love the opportunity to meet Warshan Shire, Jim Butcher, Stephen King, or R.L. Stine.

⌇— colour: It’s probably blue – at least, that’s the colour that she buys the most of. Most of her interior decorating is done in pale blues, pale mint greens, and baby pinks. Her clothes though – all mostly black. She’ll sometimes add pops of colour by wearing rich plum purples, sapphire blues, or dark forest greens or emerald greens. If asked the question though, she’d probably have a little bit of trouble coming up with an immediate answer, as it’s not something she really thinks about.

⌇— cologne or perfume:  It depends on the reason she’s wearing perfume. Her day to day perfume, worn mostly for work or just running errands, is MYSLF by Yves Saint Laurent. However, for date nights or fancier occassions, she wears Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent.

⌇— designer:  I feel like, if we’re talking well-known, classic designers, Ailidh would very much be a Givenchy girl. She likes their classic, elegant, modest approach and has saved enough for at least one dress from their ready-to-wear collection. For most of her day to day, she buys either thrifted or vintage or shops on online websites like ModCloth that specialize in that more vintage style that she prefers.

⌇— family member: Ailidh isn’t especially close to her parents. She calls them maybe once a month and while she enjoys the chats, they’re not extremely close parts of each other’s lives. She’s the oldest of three children, and I would say she’s closer to her younger sister and brother than she is to their parents. They keep in touch more frequently through social media. She would say that she couldn’t pick between her siblings and has no favourites between them, but she tends to get along the best with her little brother. 

⌇— food:  Ailidh isn’t a picky eater. She will eat most anything, as long as it doesn’t contain nuts. She’s very allergic to that, to the point where she always has at least two Epipens on hand – on in her purse, one at home. She eats a lot of quick meals, as she doesn’t like to waste time on things like cooking. Cup noodles, sandwiches, crackers and cheese, and things along those lines, things easy to eat while she works, are her go-to’s. She loves Indian food though, especially curry, and that’s normally her restaurant picks when she goes out to eat.

⌇— flower:  Again, this is a question that would really stump Ailidh if she was asked. She hasn’t ever really thought about it. She actually loves all types of flowers and makes sure to have a bouquet on her desk at all times, as it makes her day happier. She normally will just pick whatever bouquet speaks to her at the time. Thinking about it though, she would have to say carnations of any colour.

⌇— gem:  Ailidh doesn’t actually like most jewelry containing precious gems. They’re often too glittery, eye-catching, and ‘gawdy’ in her opinion. She prefers her jewelry simple and dainty, often just pure gold. The only ‘gem’ she really has any jewelry of is jade. She likes the colour of it and she has more luck finding delicately carved jade jewelry.

⌇— holiday:   Ailidh, with her love for horror novels and movies, counts Halloween as her favourite holiday. She loved everything about it as a child and has kept that childlike wonder and love of the spooky holiday as she ages. The biggest thing she misses, being at Nanba, is seeing trick or treaters and having her Halloween traditions. It’s also one of the few days off from work she’ll demand – she has long-standing Halloween traditions of either going to Halloween parties, spook trails, haunted houses/mazes or whatever scares she can find on Halloween.

⌇— movie:  This is another one that Ailidh would have trouble deciding. Again, it’s one of those situations where she feels she’s watched so many good ones and has a ton of other highly-recommended ones that she knows she’ll enjoy. I think, if pushed enough, she’d probably decide on to say it was one of the big horror franchises she loves, going between any of them, but the truth that she’s a little ashamed to admit would be that her favourite movie is the old cartoon ‘The Halloween Tree’ based on a Ray Bradbury novel that she also enjoys.

⌇— musician:  Ailidh’s music tastes are eclectic and she enjoys most genres of music. She has too many favourite musical artists to list, so someone would have to really narrow in on a particular genre. She has a guilty soft spot for pop girl groups, though, for those who want a secret of hers.

⌇— scenery:  Ailidh holds a deep connection with the ocean. Almost all of her vacations with her parents as a child were to beach towns and her happiest memories are often in these places. The ocean both soothes her and amazes her with its pure and primal force. In a way, being stuck on an island for her job at Nanba is actually kind of dream because, at any point, she can always see the ocean she loves.

⌇— scent: Ailidh prefers more gourmand smells – things like vanilla, caramel, chocolate, coffee, or honey. A lot of her perfumes tend to have some gourmand over or undertones and when she buys scented candles or scented body lotions, hand cremes and such, she tends to go for those types of fragrances.

⌇— song:  She doesn’t have one. It’s constantly changing. Not only is she the type of person who really gets fixated on one song that she enjoys and makes it her favourite for a little bit until the next song gets her, but she’s the type who gets songs stuck in their head super easily. An earworm will catch her and she’ll adore it until something else gets to her.

⌇— sports team: Ailidh doesn’t really watch a lot of sports. They hold very little interest to her. She probably couldn’t even name more than a couple big-name sports teams and doesn’t know the rules of most popular sports. She’s not even ashamed of this – it’s just not her thing.

⌇— television show:  Ailidh doesn’t watch a lot of television. She tends to watch more movies than tv and it’s mostly because she just doesn’t have a lot of time, what with her busy work schedule and all. When she does watch television, it’s normally Wrestlemania, Firefly, shonen anime, Sailor Moon, or Madoka.

⌇— weather:  She’s one of those weird people who actually enjoy winter. She loves snowstorms, but there’s also something about a crisp, clear winter day, with lots of fluffy snow around, the sunlight glinting off of it and making it sparkle, hot coffee in her mittened hands, that is just perfect to her.

⌇— vacation destination: As mentioned, she did go to a lot of beach towns on vacation in her youth. Because of that, and all the fond memories of those vacations, she definitely would gravitate towards beachy vacations. Hawaii would be lovely, Moorea, Bali – things like that would definitely appeal to her. However, in something no one would expect of Ailidh, she’s also a huge fan of classic cars. She’s working on restoring one herself and the idea of a road trip in an restored classic hot rod, or on her motorcycle, would also be a dream to her.

Can you do the ‘Which of your characters do you think you would be most friendly with?’ prompts?

Of course I can! This was a hard one to answer, because I had to really think about this. The answers, when I was honest with myself, wouldn’t just be the characters I liked the best. Some of the characters I absolutely love I know I wouldn’t realistically get along with and that’s okay, I think. So, instead, I really sat and thought about who I would get along with, not who I just liked. I did the answers for my original characters, plus a choice for a handful of my different fandoms, so this one got a little bit long. Hope you don’t mind!

From my own OC’s, I think that I’d manage to have a good friendship with Ailidh and Kish, probably because they’re parts of myself that I’ve come to embrace. From the Accardi Family, I think I’d be too similar to Bria to be able to get along with her, the twins would be too stand-offish for me, Lara too loud, and Guiana too…crazy. But I think I’d get along with Luca, Fonz, and Raf, all for different reasons. Luca and I both really enjoy people and want to make them happy and content and I think we’d have a supportive friendship. Fonz would help me push my boundaries and we’d really connect over music. Raf would be my geeky friends who I could talk fandom with, which would be a godsend!

This one took a really long time to think about. It was hard, because, while I definitely have my favourite Servamp characters, a lot of the times they wouldn’t be people who would like me or we’d end up really setting each other on edge. For example, I absolutely adore Tsurugi and wish that we would be close friends, but I don’t think I’d catch his interest, being really shy, quiet, and reserved, for him to come to know me enough for us to be friends. I guess, after thinking deeply about it, I would say Tetsu, Kuro, Syuhei, and Niccolo would be the ones who I’d likely end up being closer friends with. All of them seem like people who would be okay with me being more on the quiet side and who would give me time to open up to them.

From The Vampire Dies in No Time!, I do think I’d get to be pretty good friends with Satetsu and Draluc both. Satetsu and me are both kind of reformed ‘delinquents’ who regret doing a lot of the things they did. We’re both more on the quiet and unassuming sides and because of that, we don’t judge each other by first appearances and allow each other to open up and get to know each other. I feel we’d both show a lot of interest in each other’s lives, which isn’t something shown to either of us often but is always needed and appreciated by us. On the Draluc side, I do think we share enough interests to be able to form a bond and the friendship is fun, silly, and helps keep me optimistic and relaxed.

From Mashle, I do think I’d end up being good friends with Finn Ames. We both tend to be the ‘straight man’ of our group of friends, the ones with common sense. We both understand struggling with self-esteem and because of that, we support each other but we also allow each other time alone, something which I really do need. We’re both very loyal and I think that, like me, Finn is the type to try to find ways to be interested in his friend’s interests and hobbies.

Maybe it’s wishful thinking, but I like to hope that I’d be friends with Levy and Lucy from Fairy Tail. We’d bond over a shared love of literature, have lots of discussions about our favourite authors, what kind of things we’d like to write. But we’d be able to find intelligent conversation outside of that as well, become places where we could really open up and be good sounding boards for the other’s ideas, problems, etc. It’s just a solid, loyal, cute little friendship that I want to imagine.

As the title suggests, here is the second extra post as promised!! Last week I introduced y’all to Prince Kazuki of Okunseiko, who is Queen Aurora of Sylvanthia’s beau, so this week I figured I’d introduce some of their attendants/friends. Also, one of these characters happens to be my favorite character thus far! I hope you love her just as much as I do! ᕱ__ᕱ

Was previously on an undercover mission to investigate the mysterious illness (that claimed both Aurora’s mother and Kazuki’s father) which had been spreading across the land in the past decade or so

And she was in the process of discovering that it ran much deeper than simply a new virus developing

Was pulled away from that to attend Kazuki’s coronation as a representative for Sylvanthia as her Queen was too busy cleaning up the mess her previous advisors made to attend

Is now stuck on the run with Prince Pretty Boy Kazuki himself after uncovering a plot to kill him and saving his life

Serious, takes no sh*t attitude with a sharp wit and sharper tongue

If one is lucky (or unlucky depending) they may get to experience her wicked sense of humor

Surprisingly beautiful, ironically contrasting her caustic personality

Extremely independent 

She gets her job done and done well

Has been very hurt and betrayed by people she should have been able to trust in the past

Which is why she staunchly ignores Romulus’s affections for her (though she mayhaps feel the same)

Her thoughts are rushing around at the speed of light, constantly observing her surroundings and taking in new information, but the most common of them feature worry over Aurora, both as her Queen and her oldest and dearest friend, determination to figure out just what is causing the rising unrest in Delyorea, and attempting to resist the urge to throttle Kazuki whomst seems to attract trouble like dung attracts flies

To his credit he immediately believed Sascha when she said something was fishy during Kazuki’s coronation and contributed heavily to saving the lives of not only Kazuki, but Sascha as well

Son of a nobleman on Okunseiko’s court, he has been with Kazuki since Kazuki was 8 and he was 9

It almost pained him physically to not flee with Kazuki but stayed behind to attempt some light undercover work to try and discover Kagero’s motivations

Eventually he leaves Okunseiko however and sets out to try and convince the Atharenel to ally with Kazuki and Aurora

His current worries are whether or not Kazuki is okay, why these damn shadow beasts won’t stay dead, and how he’s ever going to make allies with the Atharenel if Ailidh keeps avoiding him

Sascha is an absolute doll, I love her so much!! She’s also the second main, main character in my story. And Nicolás, we can’t forget about him. If any of y’all remember way, way back at the beginning of this blog when I first introduced an original character from this story, but Nicolás is Ailidh’s knight. *waggles eyebrows* ᕱ__<
