@mmindustries was a huge hit at @primaryarms Range Day. A simpler more refined tool free AK platform called the M10X. Taken from their website: The M10X was designed utilizing many proven features around the world. The M10X uses the long-stroke gas piston operating system with a rotating bolt. On top of that, the rifle uses a front recoil system combining elements from Swiss rifle design and Kalashnikov’s design. The rifle uses an adjustable gas valve to be adapted to any load or paired with a suppressor using custom suppressor settings. Ambidextrous controls similar to rifles of Western origin give the rifle the advantage of being compatible with both right and left-handed shooters. The M10X features a monolithic handguard with a full-length Picatinny rail for any optics lights or lasers. Standard AK magazines and 7.62×39 are common globally making the rifle easy to replenish. The rifle does not use many parts. Just picked up a @rileydefense RAK-47. Missed having a 7.62x39 AK because I let mine go years ago in favor of the Krink. . Out of the box, the rifle seems very well built. The action is smooth and void of that gritty and cheap feel. There is no slop in the handguards or any rattle to the gun which is definitely something I typically hate in AKs. I saw some reviews saying that their AK from Riley Defense came with surface rust from shipping and mine was definitely absent of any of those issues. Also, a thing I certainly check for and something that wasn’t present; canted sights. So this AK is good to go, pending a range trip. . The AK comes with an enlarged mag release paddle, a nice safety lever with a cut to hold the bolt back, and a XTech magazine (feels sturdy as hell) which I’ve heard great things about. . Really looking forward to getting out to shoot this. Trying to decide whether I’d like to finally bring myself to “modding” an AK or just putting it in the classic wood setup. The @tdi_arms ERG grip is one of those rare items that snuck up on me while my attention was elsewhere and took me completely by surprise. I had been working with @tdi_arms to include their excellent Z92 handguard in the Zastava rebuild project, and when I opened the package, tucked inconspicuously inside was this little gem. The ERG grip is an amalgamation of all of the things that make modernized AK grips great while still maintaining a visual design that pays homage to its classic Russian roots. The top of the grip is large enough to fill the hand while still keeping the trigger comfortably within reach, and the grips body flares out gently as it extends towards the bottom allowing for full control of the guns tilt as you bring the gun up to attain a sight picture. One of my favorite features of the ERG though is its unique texture, which extends around its entire circumference and in doing so provides side to side manipulation control without slippage or having to readjust your grip on the weapon. The texture is highly effective but non-aggressive, allowing a tight grip on the weapon for extended periods of time both comfortably and reliably. The texture is hard to put into words, but its really something you should experience yourself. The @tdi_arms ERG grip is available directly from TDI Arms and from other partner resellers and comes in at around a modest $19.
