This is my 2024 @fandomtrumpshate gift for @mathclasswarfare. It was beta'd by @star54kar. (Thanks again!)

Mediaeval-inspired AU where Prompto is a hermit in the woods (because of Reasons) who finds the injured crown prince and nurses him back to health. And they fall in love. And there's a sword hanging over their heads.

Prompto is out gathering winterberry when he finds a boy dying in a snowbank. Well, "boy". He really is a man, although he is young, too young to be spreading crimson all through the white, his lips turned blue from the cold. He is the same age as Prompto, from the looks of it. Prompto, who is alone.
