Russia and Iran are both terrorist states whose economies are propped up by fossil fuels.
If you'd like to see dictatorships and theocracies collapse, use less fossil fuel. Of course doing so is also helpful to the planet. 🌍
If I were an entrepreneur, I'd print up and sell stickers featuring pictures of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Iranian theocrat Ali Khamenei which people could place next to their thermostats and on their vehicle dashboards to remind them who is being empowered by oil and gas usage.
There is no downside to using less fossil fuel. Sustainable energy has a pro-democracy valence.

Can I voice some frustration? I swear, every fucking day passes is another day I find myself hating Ali Khamenei more and more. One of these days, the violence the Iranian regime fosters is going to come back to bite them and I can only hope it will be inflicted by the Iranian people rather than on them by a foreign power. Not enough people, especially Westerners but also Arabs, are anywhere near as angry at the Iranian regime as they should be. Fuck Bibi and whatever else but FUCK Khamenei, fuck him seven ways to hell and back again.
this is a safe blog to vent on shitty political leaders.
But in all seriousness, to any Iranians that might stumble on this blog, I send my love, you will take down your shitty government. I know that your women are still terrorized by the government, and I send you power.

Iran’s Khamenei promised Israel would be “punished” for striking Syria
Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed on Tuesday to avenge an Israeli air strike on Syria that killed senior military officers, according to Iranian media.
“[Israel] will be punished at the hands of our brave men. We will make them regret this crime and the other ones.”
The statement came after Iranian state television reported that the death toll in the attack on the consulate building had risen to 13, including seven Iranians and six Syrian nationals.
Earlier, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated that “cowardly crime will not go unanswered.”
Having failed to destroy the will of the resistance front, [Israel] has put blind assassinations back on its agenda to save itself.
Hezbollah, the Iran-affiliated armed group that has been swapping attacks with Israel across the border with Lebanon since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war, echoed the warnings, arguing that an attack on Iranian diplomatic premises “will not pass without the enemy receiving punishment and revenge.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and one fellow Republican were the only House lawmakers on Monday to vote against a resolution that mourned the almost 50,000 people killed in this month’s earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
The resolution, which praised “the work of humanitarian aid and rescue workers on the ground” and condemned “efforts by the Assad regime of Syria to exploit the disaster to evade international pressure and accountability,” passed 412-2.
Greene (R-Ga.), and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) opposed the measure.
Tumblr media
Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.), who sponsored the earthquake resolution, said on the House floor that “to the brutal Assad regime and its backers — war criminal Putin, the authoritarian ayatollah in Iran — there will be a message: your diversion of humanitarian aid during an earthquake is despicable.”
“The U.S. Congress stands united. We will never normalize with you,” Wilson continued. “We will hold all those who attempt to normalize with you accountable, and we will not stop supporting the people of Syria to have a government they deserve based on democracy with rule of law, not authoritarians with rule of gun.”
Tumblr media
Greene, the spotlight-seeking extremist, has called for America to stop funding Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s invasion. In February, she tweeted she was “praying for Turkey and other countries suffering through deadly earthquakes.”
Massie last year voted against a bill to make lynching a federal hate crime.

Unlike many other bigotries, anti-Semitism is not merely a social prejudice; it is a conspiracy theory about how the world operates. This addled outlook is what united the Texas gunman, a Muslim, with the 2018 shooter at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue, a white supremacist who sought to stanch the flow of Muslims into America. It is a worldview shared by Louis Farrakhan, the Black hate preacher, and David Duke, the former KKK grand wizard. And it is a political orientation that has been expressed by the self-styled Christian conservative leader of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, and Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran’s Islamic theocracy.
The fevered fantasy of Jewish domination is incredibly malleable, which makes it incredibly attractive. If Jews are responsible for every perceived problem, then people with entirely opposite ideals can adopt it. And thanks to centuries of material blaming the world’s ills on the world’s Jews, conspiracy theorists seeking a scapegoat for their sorrows inevitably discover that the invisible hand of their oppressor belongs to an invisible Jew.

Quote
Four decades of the Islamic Republic’s hard power will ultimately be defeated by two millennium of Iranian cultural soft power. The question is no longer about whether this will happen, but when. History has taught us that there is an inverse relationship between the courage of an opposition and the resolve of a regime, and authoritarian collapse often goes from inconceivable to inevitable in days.
Prof. Karim Sadjadpour, senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, writing at the New York Times about the inevitable fall of the fundamentalist Islamic régime in Iran.
It may take three months or five years, but the deeply unpopular government in Tehran will implode when some force within it decides that enough is enough.

Iran: the hijab protests are now massive, but a revolution will need the military to change sides
Arshin Adib-Moghaddam, SOAS, University of London More than three weeks after the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Ahmini for disobeying Iran’s strict laws, which make it compulsory for women to wear the hijab – or Islamic headscarf – protests continue to rage on the streets of all major cities. On Saturday, protesters even managed to hack into Iran’s biggest news channel to broadcast their message to…

Top Iran official warns against protests amid serious unrest
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Iran’s parliamentary speaker warned Sunday that protests over the death of a young woman in police custody could destabilize the country and urged security forces to deal harshly with those he claimed endanger public order, as countrywide unrest entered its third week.
