America’s claims to be the “land of the free” and yet America’s Revamped bill of rights in 2022-the one’s politicians will die on-looks like this:
Create laws that restrict women’s bodies to become nothing more then a vessel for a group of cells
Would rather suck the tit of the NRA rather then save their Children.
Fund a group of LARPing racists living out their white supremacy fantasies-aka cops-rather then have the money be put towards something that would actually benefit its people.
Ban books that allow children to discover themselves and express themselves. (God forbid they learn gay and trans people exist)
Prohibit critical race theory that would criticize their own actions and reveal them to be the bad guys who stole this land (“land of the free, but by god not free thinking”)
Would rather overturn an election because it didn’t turn out the way they wanted
Consider people “illegal” when this land isn’t theirs.
Forbid people who have been wrongly convicted of overturning/challenging their sentence.
Will not install any anti hate crime bill that would protect its citizens
Allows doctors/healthcare professionals to refuse seeing anyone who doesn’t fit a certain profile (cough, cisgender, cough)

demanding a series in the same vein (heh, vein) as Dexter/Hannibal wherein a prolific serial killer plays cat & mouse with the police--except the serial killer in question is a preteen schoolgirl. this would make for compelling television due to the fact that middle school frequently causes girls to become deranged, and more media should reflect this

it's so crushing to me that M--, in the middle of the nuclear escalation insanity, told john through the closed door of his bedroom that she knows this isn't what he really wants, that they can still fix this together, that everything can still be all right if they just stop now. both she and A-- believed in john's goodness as a man, as a person, not even as a god or a leader, so much that they came up with the crazy 'arming the bomb' plan with him because they thought he would never actually do it. (they've got a recurring problem with judgement of character I suppose lol oopsie we enabled a genocidal monster sorry folks won't happen ag-- ah shit). C-- tells him he doesn't have to do this. the rest of his little found family, they all tell him this has gone too far, walk it back while we still can holy shit john!!! and he hides in his room because people are mad at him like a kid, but like a middle-aged kid with a doctorate who won't take his finger off the one Biggest Reddest Button to end them all.
then, so many years later, cytherea says at the dawn of lyctorhood: we had the choice to stop.
and then. THEN augustine tells him, at the end of everything, "john, we still have the choice to stop, even now. you don't have to do this anymore. even if there can be no forgiveness for what we've done, we can at the very least stop doing it." without either of them knowing it he's closing the loop of what M-- said ten thousand years ago -- they're both begging him 'be the man I want you to be, not the man you apparently are'. and he still doesn't listen.
what is this whole fucking mess if not a tragic ten thousand year demonstration of the unfortunate fact that no matter what you do, you can't change someone through sheer force of loving them 😔
I just... godDAMN IT john if you had listened to the people who loved you ONCE! ONCE, at ANY of these points, instead of sunk cost fallacy-ing yourself into the fucking lightless depths of the mariana trench while getting high on your own supply and drowning the universe in blood, everything could have been so different. my head is in my hands my heart is in pieces on the ground my bones are trying to shake their way out of my body --

in this world where so many members of our species, with supposed moral agency, are killing small things for nothing but the crime of existing, and so many are blind to the value of any species which does not benefit them in a way they can personally measure... do you ever feel so so panicked and suffocated?

I’m so tired of talking to old ass family members about facts and being hit with the “I don’t want to talk about this” because it disrupts your worldview and makes you feel uncomfortable.
It fucking should make you uncomfortable, it should make you uncomfortable that cops are fucking worthless and let a bunch of children die.
The reason why you won’t talk about it is because deep down, you know what the facts are and that the United States is a country that prioritizes guns over its children-You know this is bullshit-but you won’t admit it.
My parents always tell me “don’t worry about what you can’t change” you’re right, by myself I can’t change it.
But if I can annoy my own lawmakers to act and DO THEIR FUCKING JOBS? I will call them and pester them until they do.

you know when shows have that self-satisfied air of like. "we're progressive! this is what being progressive looks like!" but it just ends up making the biases that make it into the story all the more jarring precisely because the explicit goal was to be inclusive?
anyway miss fisher's murder mysteries is like, well sure it's the 1920s but miss fisher has a modern-day woman's tolerance for being gay or a communist or getting abortions and none of the other characters care to challenge her on that so we don't have to let period-accurate social issues ruin our good vibes :)
but then the episodes will literally be like. episode about angry and violent foreign anarchists murdering one of their own for not being angry and violent enough. episode about a bitter, violent anti-zionist doing murders on innocent, pious zionists. episode about a gay person who didn't end up being guilty of the crime in question but still ends up nobly turning himself in to the police to serve time under sodomy laws. episode I JUST WATCHED where the murder victim was intersex and the titular miss fisher and her partner take a special trip to the morgue just to gawk at how weird and wacky the victim's body was. and it's like. interesting. this is progressive? this feels #wholesome to you? and of course it DOES feel like that to many people even despite the above because all the main characters are white and well-meaning and like each other a lot.

There's some updated graphics on Jor'Dell Richardson, a 14 year old black child who was murdered by two Aurora police officers, Roch Gruszeczka and James Snapp on June 1st, 2023.
I deleted the post with the old graphics since there was some incorrect info about where on his body he was shot. He was shot in his upper abdomen not in his back.
JUSTICE FOR JOR'DELL RICHARDSON!

I haven’t really seen anyone talk about this yet so there’s a possibility I could be the only one but I hate Chevreuse and how they wrote her
Even if I ignore the fact that she’s a cop and most cop-like characters piss me off anyways, within the context of the region she’s apart of, she’s just plain boring. As it stands we already have a good handful of characters in the game, a lot of them from Fontaine already, with the exact same motivations and high held personal morals; the law is there for a reason, if people enact revenge and take what they think is just and right All The Time, then there would be chaos and unfair violence everywhere. And from a real life ethical lens it WOULD be really chaotic if anyone, anywhere at anytime could take their views of justice into their own hands.
but that’s the thing!! kind of like how it is In the real world, Fontaine is not a wholly just and fair nation (e.g. the Entirety of the Fortress of Meropide, the trafficking and various other crimes that constantly happen within the nobility of Fontaine and the fact that it has yet to be thoroughly investigated/solved and continues to happen, the extreme economic and social juxtaposition between the court of Fontaine and its underground Fleuve Cendre area and Poisson) And it really sucks that the game fails to admit that or acknowledge it because then you have characters who they Want you to believe are doing the right thing and fighting for the right causes, but it winds up feeling meaningless when what they’re fighting for is the law of Fontaine.
Chevreuse would’ve been an Infinitely more interesting and compelling character if her passion for justice wasn’t rooted in upholding the law and order of the nation, but rather what justice means for individuals. How the injustice and discrimination happening in that nation breeds people’s want for revenge and justice outside of the law.
And yeah I get that they wanted another character who fights against evil and is unwavering in her beliefs of what’s right in the very conventional and legal way, but I find it really funny that Chevreuse herself says what makes the argument for her character being boring In the same event quest; when asked about possibly changing the ending and meaning of the Two Musketeers, she says she wants to keep the ending the way that it is because fiction exists in a realm separate from that of reality, where things like the morals of what’s just and unjust can be explored. and like!! that’s it’s!!! I’m literally sitting here playing a Fictional game that has the opportunity to showcase just how fascinating it can be to talk about those kind of things in a fantasy setting where your main player character has literally Killed mostly innocent human people before because they betrayed someone they cared about deeply. but whatever. WHATEVER!!!
