this is like incredibly niche but was anyone here on reneetwt like what. a month ago? when #That pic dropped and the subsequent hour before it was revealed it was kinda a leak?
bc i think about it at least once a week. not even the picture itself, just the EVENT it was on twitter. i have NEVER, NEVER. seen a fandom assemble so quickly to erase all traces of conversation. i saw the pic get posted while on the tube and by the time i arrived home it was nowhere to be found. i genuinely think if i wasnt there during that (and if the occasional bad faith tiktok didnt get posted) i would have no fucking clue it exists, i havent seen it posted or even MENTIONED a single time on twitter since. its like insane.

Just wanna say for those of y’all who came into this fandom late: just a few years ago, speaking on Jiang Cheng with anything less than glowing praise used to bring so much harassment that “angry grape”-related tags had to be created to circumvent jc stans finding and subsequently dogpiling your posts. I’ve since seen this tagging convention appropriated by his stans to be an “affectionate” petname for his character. If you wrote a wangxian fic in which Jiang Cheng did not appear, your fics would get bombarded with stans flooding your comments with their own headcanons on why Jiang Cheng isn’t around but “this is how he’d react if he was” and “everyone loves him, they’re definitely thinking about him, rn” and “when is he supposed to show up, op???” If you read a wangxian fic and Jiang Cheng did appear, there was a 95% chance that you would have to slog through thousands of words of abuse apologia paired with every character (except maybe Lan Wangji, maybe) claiming that Wei Wuxian deserved to be abused and should just learn to handle it better because abuse is really love. It took me a year of reading purely (only, exclusively) wangxian fics to find a single fic that had both 1) canon Jiang Cheng and 2) did not twist the other characters into fanon iterations to justify canon Jiang Cheng’s abusive behavior. When more canon writers started appearing, their fics got flooded with negativity, claims that the fic wasn’t realistic because “jc isn’t like that,” and demands to change things. They started moderating their comment sections. Eventually, jc stan writers even stopped tagging Jiang Cheng in their fics despite writing him as a major character because people began to avoid reading fics if they knew from the tags that his character appeared.
The “canon jc” tag was created on tumblr because jc stans said that if we didn’t like being attacked for canon opinions we should “create our own tag.” It was not a tag that always existed. Nobody used it until my friends created it. And every few months after that, we’d get a new “flood the tag” campaign by jc stans pissed at the name until it died down… until twitter refugees arrived, bringing with them a new faction of jc stans. That jc appreciate week or whatever they call it that starts on Halloween? Created by jc stans in an attempt to flood out Wei Wuxian appreciation posts on his birthday by making sure that new Jiang Cheng content would dominate all the major tags on that day. I watched the creators brag about that.
Tumblr media
One BIG fandom upset happened when a jc stan wrote a horribly mistagged rape and murder wangxian fic and had their friends promote it so that wangxian lovers would read the fic and be traumatized. They gloated about having "successfully baited people," then tried to delete their tweets admitting it when they got them in trouble. I was there for that, too, and I only dodged being triggered because I saved the fic to read for later instead of cracking it open immediately.
Some of y’all may see me around now, but I’ve been watching this fandom for much longer than I’ve been making posts, before even the friends and mutuals I know now even knew I existed (yes I was a lurker lol). I’ve seen the development of all this play out across tumblr, ao3, and twitter (despite my best efforts to avoid the twitter side, that’s how ubiquitous it was). That’s how inescapable it was. I saw so much shit go down that I already had a mile-wide blocklist before I made my first post, and even then, I still got hate commentary on some of my posts the moment I dipped my littlest toe into metas. I had anon off for like a year because I didn’t want to deal with any harassment, and the moment I turned it off, I started getting bait anons (though not as bad as the others I’ve seen, holy shit). When I started this blog, all I did was liveblog and reblog other people’s art and metas. I was so stressed entering this fandom because the shit I had seen off rip was absolutely disgusting. That’s why I have very intentional rules of engagement that I try to hold to for myself. I may never be the first to start the fight, but I damn sure will defend myself and my friends. I also will never run away from admitting my mistakes, but I will also never be bullied into treating someone’s personal fantasies as equal to the actual factual text.
This isn’t to say that fanon enjoyers don’t get harassment. Another big fandom scandal was that a popular fanfic writer obsessed with canon had been harassing other writers through a series of bot accounts into leaving the fandom. What a lot of people don’t bring up in their bid to paint canon enjoyers as particularly prone to “fandom bullying,” however, was that the “canon” they were obsessed with was tied almost exclusively to the canon wangxian’s top/bottom sexual dynamic. I’d read that person’s works before—enjoyed them, even, before the scandal happened. They wrote fanon into their fics in other ways. The fanon/canon divide isn’t the problem; entitlement to unanimous fandom praise and recognition is.
There’s nothing wrong with enjoying canon or fanon, nothing right or wrong or morally superior for either camp. But do me a favor: go into the main jiang cheng character tag right now, and count how often you see a post about Jiang Cheng that portrays him in a negative light. Not one that portrays him as an snarky asshole or a teacher’s pet or a helicopter parent or a crybaby who only wants to be loved, but one which shows him in all of his uncensored glory as a piece of shit antagonist. How often do you see fanart of Jiang Cheng that isn’t “best jiujiu” or “sad didi” or “badass sect leader”? How often do you see metas that don’t include some iteration of “everyone is just so mean about poor little jc who just didn’t have a choice in anything he ever did 😢”? Go to the main novel tag and do the same. Hell, go to the wangxian tag and see what you find while you’re at it. How many of those posts are viral compared to “look at jc with his dogs!” or “look, I made lxc and jc kiss!” Then tell me whether or not you believe that jc stans are being specifically targeted for some unique and undeserved persecution by the fandom at large.

Welcome to Hermitrivia!
Three times a week, there will be a brand new trivia question to test your knowledge of hermits, events, builds, and stories. These questions will be presented in the form of 7 day polls.
Please read the voting rules before participating:
No cheating! Don't look up your answers before voting. (I have no practical way of stopping you from doing this, so I'm going to have to trust you not to ruin the fun.)
No spoilers! Don't say, imply, or hint your answer in the comments or tags before the poll is finished.*
Share the fun! Reblog the poll if you play.
If you have an idea for a fun trivia question, you can send it via dm or ask.
Please read the submission rules before sending one:
These are multiple choice questions with a single correct answer! Provide at least four answer choices: the correct answer plus at least three other choices.
Reciepts! Provide proof of the correct answer to your question in the form of a video, tweet, or wiki page link.
Stay on topic! Questions can tie into other series, but they must be directly related to Hermitcraft or hermitcraft members. "Which of the following hermits was not involved in the HermitEmpire crossover" is a valid question. "Which Empires member has the most PVP deaths" is not.
Keep it fun! Do not submit questions related to the death of any hermit or hermits family members (yes, this includes pets!)*
Keep it fun, part 2! Do not submit questions about real-world discourse or drama around CCs.*
Opinions are not facts! Only submit questions to which the answer is objectively verifiable. "Who had the most player kills during s7" is a valid question. "Who is the best PVPer" is not.
Submissions that do not follow these rules will be deleted.
*Breaking a rule marked with an asterisk is grounds for an immediate block!
More details and tags below the cut:
Tagging:
Polls will be tagged with #trivia questions
Answered polls will be tagged with #trivia answers
Polls will be tagged with all relevant hermits and Hermitcraft seasons
Hermits and Hermitcraft seasons will be tagged if they are an answer choice EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT THE CORRECT ANSWER. If I only tagged the "correct" hermit or season, that would spoil the answer. KEEP THIS IN MIND WHEN YOU ARE TAGGING REBLOGS!
Schedule posts and other informative posts will be tagged #announcements
Schedule
Questions will be posted Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 8am CST (figure out what that means for your own time zone) and run for one week. Answers will be posted the day after a poll concludes. So, a Saturday poll will conclude the following Saturday and be answered that Sunday.
This posting schedule is subject to change depending on how many questions are submitted. If no one submits questions and I have to come up with them all myself, I might have to ration them and cut back on posts.

Shortly following reports of an apparent second assassination attempt against former US president and 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, Elon Musk decided to speak up.
“And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala 🤔,” Musk, X’s owner, wrote in a now deleted post, in response to another person asking, “Why they want to kill Donald Trump?”
After deleting the post—which could be interpreted as a call to murder President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump’s Democratic opponent in the US presidential election—Musk indicated that it was merely a joke that fell flat given the context. “Well, one lesson I’ve learned is that just because I say something to a group and they laugh doesn’t mean it’s going to be all that hilarious as a post on 𝕏,” he wrote, adding, “Turns out that jokes are WAY less funny if people don’t know the context and the delivery is plain text.”
The incident was the latest in a long line of increasingly incendiary political posts from Musk, whose substantial defense contracts with the US government may give him access to highly sensitive information even while he makes potential threats against the sitting commander in chief. And they point to the more pressing risk that Musk’s recent rhetoric has posed: the potential to inspire further political violence.
While Sunday night’s post is gone, it appears likely that Musk could receive some attention from federal law enforcement, if he hasn’t already.
The United States Secret Service declined WIRED’s request to comment on Musk’s post. “We can say, however, that the Secret Service investigates all threats related to our protectees,” USSS spokesperson Nate Herring tells WIRED.
“In my experience, the Secret Service would take such a comment very seriously,” says Michael German, a former FBI special agent and a liberty and national security fellow at NYU School of Law’s Brennan Center for Justice. “Typically, agents would go out and interview the subject to ensure that there wasn't an existing threat, and to make the subject aware that the agency takes such statements seriously.”
German notes that it’s possible the FBI could also launch an investigation. However, it’s unlikely that Musk would face any charges for his post. “On its face, the tweet would not meet the ‘true threat’ test, in that it wasn't a direct threat to do harm to the vice president, so it wouldn't likely proceed to prosecution,” German says. Still, “it would create a record of the investigations.”
The FBI declined WIRED’s request to comment on Musk’s post. X did not immediately respond to WIRED’s request for comment.
Both Biden and Harris have released statements condemning the apparent attempt on Trump’s life and political violence more broadly. In a statement to ABC News, the White House condemned Musk’s post. "Violence should only be condemned, never encouraged or joked about,” the statement says. “This rhetoric is irresponsible."
Where things get dicier for Musk is his role as a major contractor for the US Department of Defense and NASA. According to Reuters, SpaceX signed a $1.8 billion contract in 2021 with the National Reconnaissance Office, which oversees US spy satellites. The US Space Force also signed a $70 million contract late last year with SpaceX to build out military-grade low-earth-orbit satellite capabilities. Starlink, SpaceX’s commercial satellite internet wing, is providing connectivity to the US Navy.
NASA, meanwhile, has increasingly outsourced its spaceflight projects to SpaceX, including billions of dollars in contracts for multiple trips to the moon and an $843 million contract to build the vehicle that will take the International Space Station out of commission.
The US government’s heavy reliance on companies controlled by Musk has repeatedly raised the hackles of national security experts. Concerns at the Pentagon came into stark relief last September after Musk denied Ukraine’s request to enable Starlink in Crimea, a disputed territory bordering Russia, so it could launch an attack on Russian troops. (Starlink was not under a military contract when he denied the request.) In response to previous WIRED reporting, Musk asserted that “Starlink was barred from turning on satellite beams in Crimea at the time, because doing so would violate US sanctions against Russia!”
Neither the Defense Department nor NASA have responded to WIRED’s request for comment.
Even Musk’s October 2022 acquisition of Twitter (now X) had some experts worried about the national security risks it could pose to the US, given his business relationship and communications with the Chinese government, his alleged outreach to Russian president Vladimir Putin (which Musk has denied), and Saudi Arabia’s continued investment in Twitter following Musk’s buyout. Others raised concerns that China may have leverage over Musk, due to his relationships with Beijing related to Tesla, his electric car company that has a factory in Shanghai. And all that was before Musk—a citizen of South Africa, Canada, and the US—reactivated the accounts of conspiracy theorists and white nationalists, and began heavily pushing his own right-wing political narrative. Immediately following the first attempted assassination of Trump in mid-July, Musk endorsed Trump and reportedly pledged $45 million per month to support a pro-Trump PAC, a funding vow he said he did not make.
Musk’s deleted Sunday night post further complicates matters. The CEO reportedly has security clearance given his companies’ work on classified US government projects. While there are many rules around who gets security clearance, such as abstaining from cannabis use, the designation is awarded and maintained on a risk-vs-reward basis for the US government. Given that Musk is perhaps the world’s richest man and most famous chief executive, it may be tricky to pull his security clearance regardless of his flippant discussions of political assassinations.
“This is where Musk's status might have a greater effect,” says the Brennan Center’s German. “It would be hard for managers to revoke the security clearance of someone in a position of power, whereas they could be expected to take quick action against a regular employee who engaged in similar conduct.”
The most concerning aspect of Musk’s post is its potential to further inflame extremist threats in the US, says Jon Lewis, a research fellow at George Washington University’s Program on Extremism, who calls the post “merely the latest example of right-wing incitement that has become concerningly mainstream in recent years.”
“That the owner of a major social media platform—and US government contractor—is opining on the assassination of political opponents should be alarming for Americans across the political spectrum,” Lewis says. He warns that “culture war narratives and thinly veiled racism” have already had effects on the real world, which could be exacerbated by the far-right’s willingness to answer calls to arms.
“These extremists are waiting for the justification to engage in violence,” he says, “and rhetoric like this provides the perfect excuse.”

because I am god damn sick and tired of ool being an absolute shitstain on my life, I'm gonna finally fucking just say what happened.
step.
by.
step.
the backstory
from around 02.10.2023 to 31.12.2023 I was a part of the group chat known as Epic Gamers, which had two of my friends and a guy I later befriended, those being Furret, Ool and Nexo.
on Christmas Eve a person joined, called Leon. However, a week later, I proceeded to leave the group related to a conflict between me and Leon. I still kept in contact with the three people I was friends with, despite Ool commenting in Epic Gamers about how I should shut up, attaching a screenshot of me trying to give him a normal ass compliment because he was playing a game I find cool
in that time I also had a semi-private server (let's call it Server A for this story, but since Ool trying to avoid a block will read this anyways (and because he said I was making shit up), I'm talking about the server with the Sledgehammer character), where Furret and another friend whom I'll call R were because I was going to test a simple Magic the Noah inspired not-really-chess game made in google slides
Tumblr media
also this is the icon I was talking about
2. the god damn incident
on 05.02.2024 Nexo convinced me to try to end the beef between me and Leon. So, I tried to peacefully explain my points of view to Leon, but then I realised I was talking to a brick wall and proceeded to simply state I do not want to talk to him, which just caused him to start saying things that a person reaaally shouldn't say, as seen in the following screenshot, taken directly on that day
Tumblr media
soon after I proceeded to go to sleep, but not before glancing at my phone to see a notification of Nexo saying something about an "EG raid" in Server A, when he in fact should not have been there. So, that night I just couldn't fall asleep because of how betrayed by Furret I felt.
as proof of Ool taking part in the raid, here's a screenshot taken by R who was still awake at the time
Tumblr media
when I proceeded to wake up in the morning, I saw this message from Furret
Tumblr media
losing someone whom I considered a friend up to this point was a heavy blow, but I lost three friends at once AND got trust issues
3. the harassment
so, like 2 weeks after that happened, I decided to go and finally speak up on Twitter, only to find that someone has decided to reply to every single tweet I've made with harassing messages
naturally, I've immediately blocked the person who made those replies, but they soon after made another account, and then another after it got blocked, and another.
later on I've found ool leaving messages on my personal Board Game Blitz wiki how I had used Furret's character (at the time of the character being added to the roster, I was still friends with Furret and had recieved his permission to do it. So, I simply just deleted the message and started planning a completely original character due to not wanting to be associated with Furret. But Ool decided to still harass me with more comments on the wiki, and later he proceeded to also raid some pages.
naturally by that point I was getting sick of all of them, but when I saw Ool and Leon trying to get in contact with me on Steam, for reasons I knew exactly, I decided to react calmly and do what I did before by blocking them both. However, a friend, whom I'll address as A, decided to get to the bottom of why Leon and Ool decided to be such scummy people
it was absolutely ridiculous, with Leon talking about how me saying that both Ool and him get hit by a truck and how I told him that I know 1s and 0s that are more human than him were death wishes. Which like, while the first one could theoretically be an argument, calling the second one a death wish was plain stupid.
also Leon was just trying to turn A against me which failed horribly and just cemented out entire group in the idea that the members of Epic Gamers are horrible people
later on Ool decided to try again on Roblox, because why the hell not, despite the fact he should have gotten the message I don't want to talk to him by then.
and now we're here. The point where Ool decided to invade my only safe place in all of this just to harass me some more and also try to make me look like a bad person
and to Ool, because I know he isn't gonna read through this all and will just skip to the end:
I know your life is pathetic enough that you don't have anything better to do other than harass the girl who you've been friend with at one point, but at least go and play some Minecraft instead of focusing your entire life on hate

A Black Harvard law professor has been accused of tweeting, then deleting, the word "Karma" in an apparent response to Claudine Gay announcing her resignation as president of the university following accusations of plagiarism and a row over campus antisemitism.
The post was allegedly made on X, formerly Twitter, by Professor Ronald Sullivan Jr., who in 2019 was effectively demoted after serving as part of Harvey Weinstein's defense team when the disgraced film producer was facing sexual assault allegations.
Political commentator Wesley Yang shared what he claimed was a screenshot of Gay's post, adding: "Ronald Sullivan deleted this one word post written in response to former Harvard president Claudine Gay's resignation: 'Karma.'"
Newsweek could not immediately verify the veracity of the screenshot's content or that the tweet was directly related to Gay's resignation.
Newsweek has reached out to Sullivan and Harvard University for comment via email.
Sullivan's decision to represent Weinstein sparked a furious response from some students, after which Harvard decided not to extend his contract as an undergraduate residence faculty dean. According to student-run newspaper The Harvard Crimson, Gay, then dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, was one of those involved in the decision.
Gay announced she was stepping down as Harvard president on January 2, with a letter in which she claimed it was "in the best interests" of the university for her to resign after facing what she described as "personal attacks and threats fueled by racial animus."
It came amid an ongoing row over free speech and bigotry on campuses, which had already claimed the job of Liz Magill, who resigned as president of Pennsylvania University last month following a controversial House committee appearance alongside Gay and Sally Kornbluth, president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Sullivan faced protests on campus after The New York Post first reported he had joined Weinstein's defense team in January 2019, with demonstrators demanding he step down as faculty dean and for a public apology be issued.
Weinstein was later convicted of rape and sexual assault in the New York trial and sentenced to 23 years in prison. He was subsequently sentenced to an additional 16 years in prison by a court in Los Angeles in a separate case.
In response to the controversy, Sullivan sent a 1,200-word email to students at Winthrop, then his undergraduate faculty residence, stressing the importance of representing an "unpopular defendant."
In an interview with The Harvard CrimsonGay branded Sullivan's response to the row as "insufficient," and months later it was announced his position as Winthrop faculty dean would not be renewed.
Within hours of Hamas's October 7 attack on Israel, which resulted in around 1,200 people killed and another 240 taken into Gaza as hostages, 34 Harvard student organizations signed a statement written by the university's Undergraduate Palestine Solidarity Committee stating they "hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence."
The move triggered a furious response from the university's Jewish center Harvard Hillel, which said the statement promoted "hatred and antisemitism."
Appearing before a House committee in December, alongside Magill and Kornbluth, Gay was asked whether "calling for the genocide of Jews violates Harvard code of conduct" by Rep. Elise Stefanik.
She replied "it depends on the context," sparking outrage and calls for her to resign. Speaking to The Harvard Crimson, Gay later apologized for her remarks, and said: "Calls for violence or genocide against the Jewish community, or any religious or ethnic group, are vile, they have no place at Harvard."
In December it was revealed Gay was facing an anonymous complaint of serial plagiarism, with additional allegations published by the Washington Free Beacon in January.
She initially denied any wrongdoing in response, stating: "I stand by the integrity of my scholarship." However, The New York Times reported that a Harvard investigation concluded there were cases of inadequate citation in her dissertation as well as at least two of her articles.

Now that the event is out and you are the authority on cringe failwomen, is Van Gogh also a cringe failwomen or is she a separate but similar species?
absolutely no idea where anyone got the idea of me being the cringefail woman authority or any sort of authority on basically anything but thanks
van gogh is in fact a separate species, because osakabe is a loser and xu fu is a prick but van gogh has some manner of vexation unto her
you can talk to osakabe and realize shes inherently pathetic the moment she opens her mouth, but osakabe herself when it comes to being a cringefail woman is held back by her own insecurities, because she can be competent when push comes to shove. in her case it is in fact that her anxiety nerfs her powerlevel
with xu fu you have what is essentially an anime girl Tom Cat from tom and jerry who can macgyver any sort of invention to try and kill you with but due to being a Tom Cat she will also fail. part of what makes her cringefail as well is that she absolutely can not lose with any sort of grace because she is your toxic bitch ass friend who gets whats coming to her. if you put your fingers near her she WILL bite them
van gogh on the other hand is just Like That. shes a fundamentally different type of loserwoman than both osakabe and xu fu.
to put an example, osakabe is a nerd who in classic nerd fashion gets bullied and records super long youtube compilations of her video games. xu fu is the type of loser woman who would write a 500 tweet callout dissertation and gets ratiod so hard immediately that she deletes. van gogh you learn that she runs a sideblog dedicated entirely to examining and dismantling incredibly niche and specific computer programs and has an avid fanbase composed of the scammers who make those nigerian prince emails, something that she herself is unaware of and if she learned about would make her cry.
they all have anxiety but different flavors of it: osakabes anxiety is dependant on her knowing shes a nerd loser and being unable to keep up with the cavalcade of her popular normie friends that she has no idea how she managed to pull. xu fu has a SINGLE burst of anxiety related to her crush and outside of that is generally soft spoken and awkward but has no qualms about killing people. van gogh has something wrong with her where she feels awkard and tries to smile and laugh it off but shes been out of natural sunlight for like a month so it comes out raspy and her lips are chapped and talking to another person is sooooo taxing so she tries to make a pun and if theres no reaction she only gets worse dear god someone help her
osakabe is a nerd, xu fu is a prick, and van gogh can Hear The Voices

Former President Donald Trump and two of his aides were hit with new charges in the Mar-a-Lago documents case on Thursday.
A grand jury in South Florida returned a superseding indictment adding four charges to the prior indictment against Trump and aide Walt Nauta. Another aide, Carlos De Oliveira, the Mar-a-Lago head of maintenance, was also added to the obstruction conspiracy charged in the original indictment.
The indictment alleges that De Oliveira told another employee that "the boss" wanted the server with Mar-a-Lago surveillance footage deleted and asked how long the footage was stored.
"What are we going to do?" he allegedly said.
The alleged exchange came after Trump's team received a subpoena for the security footage, according to the indictment.
The new indictment charges Trump with two new obstruction counts and with allegedly possessing the classified document he was heard discussing in an audio recording of a meeting at his Bedminster, N.J. golf club. Trump in the audio bragged that he had a classified Iran war plan that he could not show others because he hadn't declassified it. He has since denied that he was in possession of the document.
But the new indictment alleges that he did have it and that it was marked "TOP SECRET" and involved a "Presentation concerning military activity in a foreign country."
Trump and Nauta pleaded not guilty to the earlier charges against them.
National security attorney Mark Zaid said the indictment "reads like organized crime activity," citing the "compelling" text messages and video footage cited in the document.
Former Manhattan prosecutor Karen Friedman Agnifilo told CNN that the indictment "reads like a spy novel."
"That's what you would do. You would try to… wipe out the video footage," she said. "I mean, it's just astonishing that this is what Trump wanted to do! He wanted to destroy evidence of a crime! I mean, that's really what this is."
CNN legal analyst Elliot Williams said that the timeline laid out by the indictment is "devastating."
"They start communicating about what the boss' wishes are and immediately took steps to delete this footage," he said Friday. "All of that is pretty lock, stock and barrel evidence of obstruction of justice."

Fellow CNN legal analyst and former federal prosecutor Elie Honig argued that the charge related to the Iran document was the "single most important" part of the indictment.
"Those papers he was shuffling, yes, they were classified documents, they're related to war plans, and DOJ has that document. That is now a new charge in this indictment," he said.
"And that makes that incident so much worse than just Donald Trump exaggerating or bragging or bluffing, as he has suggested," Honig added. "This means he actually had that classified document in his possession. He was showing it to others, he was bragging about it, he was disseminating it, to use the legalistic word."

But some legal experts also warned that the new charges could delay the trial in the case.
Defense attorney Ken White told Insider that adding De Oliveira was a "big change" that could "delay things a couple of months."
"I think it's an appropriate move," adding that considerations about the election timeline is "not a legitimate line of inquiry for a prosecutor."
"One thing is clear from today's superseding indictment — Jack Smith is more concerned about making the best possible case he can against Donald Trump than he is about rushing to the finish line," tweeted former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti. "Adding another defendant can slow things down, but it also strengthens his hand."

Now that everything seems to be out in the open, are there any theories or rumors that you want confirmation on?
These are my tinhats I have my fingers crossed for confirmation:
Meghan bought social media bots to attack Will and Kate's social media. The Harkles interfered with the coverage on the Cambridges' Caribbean tour with said bots. (I think it'll come out in the Bouzy lawsuits.)
Meghan took unauthorized photographs of George and Charlotte and was kicked out of KP in late 2016.
Payoffs to Corey and his family to stay silent about the timing of their breakup.
Meghan and Harry did IVF/created embryos before the wedding or immediately afterwards, which is how she got pregnant with Archie so quickly.
I think it's only a matter of time before someone leaks the surrogates. Don't forget we have that posted-and-deleted tweet from KP apologizing for Meghan's use of a surrogate just ahead of the Morocco visit.
And I also want to know the real story behind why Pippa joined Kate at Women's Wimbledon Final in 2019. I totally believe it's related to Meghan.
I think these are all true and will be proven in time. However I'd amend the last one to add that they she had embryos ready before the wedding. They were married in May, in August she went to Canada to see Jessica which was a cover to visit the IVF clinic and get the surrogate implanted, and two months later the "pregnancy" was announced.

Just putting it here:
Unless someone has like, verifiable sources, mentioning DnD Shorts as a valid resource is an immediate block. This guy appears to be making up totally random shit for attention; I truly don't know why people are hanging onto his words so much because I have not seen a shred of evidence he is anything but a dumb loud opportunist, and he keeps popping up as some sort of expert on the posts of people spreading debunked rumors. Maybe he has an inside source, but I'll believe it when I have something other than blurry screenshots of a word doc. If you want to believe him, fine, but I'm not letting that spread on my posts.
(Also, while this does not necessarily mean he is without real sources, I'm truly unimpressed by his mechanics opinions).
From what I understand Legal Eagle has been a good YouTube resource on the copyright law side of the OGL if you are a video person rather than a reader.
Updated morning of 1/19: DnD Shorts has deleted a bunch of tweets and provided a more lengthy and moderate screenshot of the conversations with his still unverified source after a number of known game designers or journalists who have worked with WoTC have pointed out the issues with what he's been saying about surveys. Of note: Jeremy Crawford has reviewed UA Survey results on video (...which DnD Shorts reviewed at the time), and if you've been following OneD&D, there have been a number of changes made directly related to survey results that people filling out those surveys can verify. (Sidebar, I've seen people say that it's suspicious for an organization to put out a survey that they control. This is how literally all surveys work. I'm genuinely concerned you don't know what a survey is.)
Also though: DnD Shorts is not an industry insider, indie game designer, 3PP content maker, etc. He is a guy named Will who's been playing D&D for under three years. He's a YouTuber.
Dungeon Scribe, who had also been spreading similarly debunked rumors (AI DM-ing, $30 subscriptions - which appear to come from a joke reddit post in August, and still revoking the OGL 1.0a) claimed on January 16th (Monday of this week) they would have a video up on Wednesday with their sources (who are "trusted pals with verified sources"). It is Thursday; I don't see any sources yet.
In general it's worth noting that a lot of the 3PP designers people claimed to be supporting and worrying about (and who do not have the same level of business contact/likely nondisparagement clauses as Critical Role would have with WoTC) are saying "hey, could we stick to the facts here because this is an opportunity to provide feedback, but if you keep yelling about baseless rumors the conversation will move to that instead of actual change."
In general: thoughtful criticism welcome. If you have sourced corrections for things I've posted, they're welcome. If you're going to keep spreading unproven rumors from a random guy who is good with a video camera and apparently not much else, it's a block.

Council Member Andrew Friedson is one of the county’s most prominent elected officials.  CASA is one of the county’s most prominent interest groups and depends on the state and county governments for a large chunk of its budget.  Normally, when parties like this disagree, they do so politely and, if possible, quietly.
Not this time.
The Israel-Hamas war originated overseas and this site does not cover international affairs.  However, I have previously published on its impact on county politics three times:
October 11: The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington (JCRC) and the Anti-Defamation League of Washington DC protested against MCPS’s response to Hamas’s attack on Israeli civilians.
October 13: Friedson wrote a guest column about Hamas’s attacks.
November 6: Delegate Gabriel Acevero claimed that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza.
The issue has not stopped there.  CASA, an immigrant rights group established in Montgomery County many years ago and a major recipient of state and county funds, weighed in on the conflict in Gaza on Twitter.  The tweets have been deleted but a reader forwarded them.  They were also released as a statement.  The tweets and statement are reprinted below.

Statement by Gustavo Torres
CASA Executive Director
November 6, 2023
CASA stands in resolute and steadfast solidarity with the people of Palestine in their relentless fight for freedom. We stand shoulder to shoulder with countless Black and brown freedom activists from around the world. We specifically condemn the utilization of US tax dollars to promote the ongoing violence. We call for an immediate ceasefire to save all precious life and halt the systematic ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.
Like much of the world, we join in condemning the outrageous attack by Hamas in Israel. Our hearts go out to the innocent children and families caught in the midst of this horrendous conflict.
We also reject the notion that any act of violence can ever justify the heinous practice of terror currently unleashed by Israel in Gaza, including on refugee camps, medical and UN aid workers, and more.
As we dedicate ourselves to building a world where our community can live free from discrimination and fear, we deeply acknowledge the interconnectedness of the struggle for the liberation of the Palestinian people and Black and brown communities in the United States. Our shared and unwavering commitment is to foster humanity, safety, and lasting peace throughout the entire region while confronting the historical oppression that demands urgent redress.
Finally, we strongly support the struggle for decolonization, affirming the rights of Indigenous peoples and historically colonized nations to reclaim their land. The Palestinian struggle mirrors our own; with many CASA members fleeing governments and countries wrecked by the damage of US economic and political intervention.
We firmly assert: free Palestine NOW!
CASA’s statement provoked this response from Council Member Andrew Friedson, who has previously stated his views on the Israel-Hamas war on our site.

Statement from Council Vice-President Andrew Friedson
The inflammatory and inaccurate statement by CASA is deeply offensive and hurtful.  While the tweets have since been deleted, the statement demonstrated a divisive disregard for the Jewish community who have been steadfast partners in countless of the organization’s efforts to support immigrants in our community over the years.  Using antisemitic language that denies Jews as being indigenous to their own ancestral homeland and failing to recognize that over half of Israel’s population are people of color, CASA inexplicably failed to recognize the connection so many Jews have to CASA’s mission and to their own homeland as a people who have been systematically persecuted and forced to flee countless countries for over 2,000 years.
While I appreciate CASA’s dedication to “building a world where our community can live free from discrimination and fear,” their statement suggests that Jews – and especially Jews of color – have no place in that community.  We must be able to advocate for Palestinian lives without diminishing the existence of Jewish lives.  We can question government policies and decisions without denying rights to existence and self-determination.  We must mourn all innocent lives lost and recognize each loss as a tragedy.
I hope CASA will formally retract the statement and use this painful misstep as a learning opportunity to engage with Jewish community leaders and organizations to repair the damage and avoid future pain.
As I mentioned above, CASA depends on state and county tax dollars for a significant part of its budget.  Its 2021 Form 990 filing with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service reports revenues of $25.7 million for the year ended 6/30/22, of which $4.9 million came from government grants and $11.3 million came from government contracts.  At least some of that money may be at risk.  One elected official told me, “CASA’s virulently antisemitic statement will have dire consequences for them in both Rockville and Annapolis. We cannot and will not subsidize hate with taxpayer dollars.”

I really don't mean to come off as mean or demanding because it's insane to expect people to know everything about... everything - the only thing that made me a little upset about your original post was the fact that you really can't be sure of overwolf's statements, since they're probably trying really hard to avoid being subject to a boycott, and you have a lot of followers. I'm sad people were mean about it since you obviously didn't mean anything bad by it and are going through tough times as well. If you have a kofi I'd be more than happy to donate 🩷 we all deserve help, no matter the size of our problems, Ceci
Thank you dear nonny, I apologize that I made you upset! Clearly I just don't know enough about this subject, and obviously have bias by the situation I am in too. But it's so tough when people look to you to make a statement immediately, you know? If you don't say anything quick enough, people get fucking furious and say you're ignoring it. I had anons within hours of that tweet saying I support literal genocide because I had posts on cf which is absolutely ridiculous. But I hate jumping into a statement fast, because as we saw here, half the time new stuff comes to your attention afterward that makes you look like a jackass, people attack you like you're the devil incarnate for not knowing everything, etc. I've been really confused and conflicted by all this, I see one thing and then more info that conflicts that and then more that conflicts that. I trusted the original poster that added Overwolf's statements because they were the one to bring this up in the first place, and I didn't see anything conflicting that on their tweet (Like additional sources etc). But immediately after I posted their tweet, well, you see how that one turned out. I was thinking about privating that post but I don't want anyone to think I deleted it- but should I? I don't want it to be misleading. Or should I reblog it with additional/updated info? Yall, please let me know. I am so lost these days mentally.
I am really sorry that I upset people though with that. And I was being honest when I said I've lost sleep over this and all this suffering weighs heavy on my heart. I think most of yall that have been with me for a long time know that I'm one of those people that just wants to fix everything and when I can't it's just devastating and I can't get it off my mind. And choosing between participating in a boycott and being able to pay for meds is not something I would wish on anybody. Especially when you got people coming on your post calling you privileged, disgusting, hypocrite, etc because you didn't delete your cc posts fast enough for their liking. The money i'm waiting on from cf is money I already earned. They already got the damn ad revenue. I aint earning them more money because I aint uploading anything else there, I'm waiting for what's already owed to me. But to people on simblr who likely don't even pay their own bills, that's worthy of some goofy callout post calling you genocidal. Over freaking sims 4 cc. It's mind boggling.
Anyway, I'm going on too long again lmfao. Let me say again, thank you nonny, I appreciate you. I think I have an old ko-fi account somewhere, I'm going to get it set up so people can tip here and there if they like my cc and don't care for patreon. I'm also gonna start doing commissions soon. And on that note if anyone has any suggestions for how to format that feel free to send them to my inbox. Along with any other related suggestions. ...alright, I think I'm done rambling fr 😂 love you nonny 💜

I relate to what you’re saying, and good for you; look, at the end it’s his life, his choices, if he wants to end up with Justin as the Godfather of his children that’s going to be his lesson. ///
And it’s so telling that he would be okay with that. I’m sure Justin knows how to be on his best behavior and I can see myself even finding him a bit funny sometimes, but there is something so inherently… smarmy and insincere about him. It’s making me think Chris is not someone who has just retained a childlike wonder but someone who is actually quite childish and superficial, has a very ignorant, juvenile mindset (which probably has a lot to do with being so privileged) despite displaying an ability to be quite well spoken and think deeply. This alone by no means makes him the worst person in the world, I’m just becoming increasingly wary and discerning about what I’ve seen of his nature.
There’s something inherently smarmy and insincere about all of them, Alba and her little group. And you are right Chris is not the worst person in the world; he’s not a criminal either, he’s just a very disappointing man; settling down with someone who could be his daughter and that her and her friends’ racist remarks contradict the persona he portrayed to be.
Not to add, I have no doubt but also no proof, that he’s been the butt of the joke of that group; from Alba deleting all the comments insulting her and her acting; and deliberately leaving the ones insulting him; that old story of Justin kekeing saying Chris Evans then Joanna shushing him and cutting it immediately; him liking the dollar store Leo tweet, Justin’s dad flaunting him as a shiny object, all the bread-crumbing, the we’re going to Disneyland Chloe and mockery of the fans; it’s still not lost on me how at his big age he’s allowed himself to be at times the clown of a group of superficial slags.

“You ever wonder why you hear so much about emma but not evan? It’s cause he keeps a low profile. He deleted his social media after that tweet, after getting called out”
there’s multiple things you got wrong here. First of all no Evan deleted his social media months after that happened. Second of all the tweet was about looters taking advantage of the BLM protests not protesters. The original person that made the tweet said that they were at the protests and were upset about the looters and defended Evan. You do realize that Evan could have been looking at tags related to the protests and that’s why that came up on his page right? He deleted it almost immediately and apologized when he realized he did that. On iPhone 5 it takes one step to tweet something which is the phone Evan had at the time so it is possible to accidentally tweet something and even if he didn’t it’s literally a tweet against people taking advantage. Just because people are talking about negative rumors about Emma doesn’t mean you need to come after Evan.
Could be.

Sorry if this is a weird ask but I'm really wanting to delete my twitter and get off the app and I think I've seen you mention a few times that you don't use it. I've been hesitant to do it though because I'm worried I'll miss out on things going on with dnp and was wondering if you can share any tips or places you check to make sure you're not missing anything dnp related.
tbh, i think i do miss out on some things, especially since @danandphilnews stopped posting m&gs pictures (Corynn, where are you??). i also don't get to immediately see photos taken when someone randomly meets dnp on the streets. but thankfully, people post those here eventually. that's basically my only concerns related to dnp updates (maybe also fashion posts? those are cool). all other info are being copied to here aka tweets, replies (@danandphilupdates), sometimes likes, tour info. also sometimes anons send me links to random dnp news that pop up on twitter, which i'm very greatful for ❤
i was quite worried about the lack of m&g pics because i remember ii ones and they were ICONIC. but in the end of the day, not being a part of elon musk's clownery is more important to me. he crossed some lines when he started talking about Ukraine and that was really it for me.
when i feel a particularly strong need for m&g pics i go to instagram and look at the pics Dan are tagged on. they are cute 🤗 and after like 30 mins i'm satisfied and don't think about reopening twitter 😅
