Although the DJ discourse is long over, I'd like to raise a argument about fictional guys again. "It LOOKS like we're preferring women but really we're preferring an acceptance of responsibility" Although beebee is correct I don't think this is true for everyone's interpretations of characters. During the first Jackson backstory post, before it was confirmed he had an illegitimate daughter, many readers (myself included) felt there was something abusive about Jackson. His body language was theorized, some made Ike Turner comparisons and questioning whether Mercy was groomed or not was a brief topic. Although we would have loved to see Jackson take accountability for his daughter, before we even knew he had a daughter we were thinking the worst. (And on this note, we did theorize Jayce was evil when he first appeared. His trust had to be earned! 🍵)

Oh y'all wanted to murder Jayce because y'all thought he was 37. I have all the replies disrespecting him framed and hanging on the walls of the RRR. He couldn't beat the allegations even when he shaved (and he was growing out his beard because his daddy had a long beard so he didn't even want to do it!).

I think both things can be true; characters accepting responsibility AND a bias that leans toward women.

Last year, I received a dm from an Anon that shared with me some Tomdaya 1.0 tea that a friend shared with them a while back.   According to the Anon, their friend used to "supposedly" work with Law, and the friend spilled some Tomdaya tea that the Anon then in turn shared with me.

The alleged “tea” that was shared with me was NEVER posted on my Tumblr blog because at the time, the Anon didn’t want to risk any crazy/angry antis and trolls flooding into my inbox (I used to get a lot 🥴). 

Anyway, now that Tomdaya is confirmed, and this "tea" is ages old anyway lol, and it doesn't even matter at this point rofl, I figured I would just finally share it lol. I've been sitting on this tea since last year lol. 😅

IF the story is true, I just thought it was a cute story to share. 🥰❤

Well, actually, I mostly reblogged the meme for the hell of it, though I’m usually pretty salty every day ^^; (it ain’t healthy, too much salt will give you kidney stones!)

I suppose I could start this with something a bit more juvenile to REALLY get myself in the salty mood, but why does it always seem that only the GOOD comics get cancelled while the ones everyone seems to hate are the ones companies continue to publish?

(Yes, I know what is considered ‘good’ and ‘bad’ is subjective xD)

I haven’t been reading a lot of comics recently, hell, the only reason I even bothered buying them again was because of Rikki Barnes’ resurrection in Future Foundation (which was slated for cancellation before it even began), and Andi’s return to comics in the Absolute Garbage event.

As mentioned before, Future Foundation was apparently slated for cancellation before the first issue even published, they didn’t even try to hide it by simply saying ‘oh, it’s just a five part mini-series’, no, it was announced as an ongoing comic, and then after the first issue dropped, it was announced that it would be cancelled as of issue five. I mean, sure it wasn’t for everyone, but I found it to be a fun romp, it was the return of a character who’s become quite the favorite of mine.

Andi FINALLY got her own book in Scream Curse of Carnage, and it was also pretty decent. Art was a bit of an acquired taste, and I felt that issue 3 and 4 were rather redundant, since 4 basically repeats the exact same story beats of 3. Unlike FF, it was announced as a mini-series before getting pushed up to ongoing status. Yes, I know COVID affected the comics publishing industry, but it sucked that it resulted in Scream’s demise simply bc no one was buying the digital books (comic collecting purists prefer a physical book to images on their phone). But the fact that they started a brand new arc, and then cancelled it on the spot despite there being 4 more issues still grinds my gears. You don’t just start a new story arc, then leave it hanging like that! Who was the Demagoblin? How was Andi’s Hellmark going to play into that? Who was Guinevere? Was Andi going to save the lost children of New York? Was Andi going to come out as Bi or a Lesbian? I GOTTA KNOW MARVEL!!!

Meanwhile, we have so so many books on the shelves, Marvel’s alleged ‘big sellers’, yet all I ever hear about them are complaints. I constantly heard people ragging on the twists Ghost Spider took. No one asked for another elseworlds Spidey book written by JJ Abrams’ son (who only got the job BECAUSE JJ Abrams is his father). Venom is still popular among 90′s fanboys, but everyone else really hates the direction Donny took with it. And no one, NO ONE, asked for the constant stream of terrible event books Marvel keeps churning out!
